YES OMFG AHHHHHH ME AND MY FRIEND LOVED THIS SM
Like you invited him to play it with your siblings and you and your siblings have been wining. You try letting him win but your siblings are assholes so they win lol
"¡Buenas!"
"¡Loteria!" You yell as you placed a rock on the paper. "How the hell are you all wining! You have to be cheating!" Eddie yells and grabs the cards off your brothers hand. He looks through them and at your bord. Eddie sees you won and you giggled as you see him drop the last card. "I'm just good at this game." You say and picked up all the cards.
"If this were DND, I'd for sure win." He says as he drops all the rocks off his paper.
"Well, this is Loteria." You say as you shuffled the cards. "You are all in this, I know it." He says as he glared at your siblings, jokingly. They laughed and shook their head. "If we were, we would be on your side." Your younger sister says.
"Another round?" You ask. Your siblings nod and Eddie just sighs. "This time with money!" Your brother says as he drops a dollar. "Ohh, now stuff are getting interesting." You say and placed a dollar. Your sister did too and you all look at Eddie. "Oh come on! I'll be broke when we are done playing." Eddie says.
"Rules are rules, Amor." You say and he gives up. He grabs his wallet and places a dollar.
"Okay, let's start then."
Eddie ended up losing 10 bucks.

Eddie x Mexican/Latina!reader where Eddie finally graduated and her family throws him a big graduation party.
This is so adorable!!!
Enjoy :)

—-
It all started when Eddie called you one day after school. You were doing some homework that your college professors left you. Groaning you got up and we’re about to head down and pick up the phone. You stopped in your tracks when you heard your mom pick it up.
After a few seconds she told you to go for the phone . You were a bit annoyed at whoever decided to interrupt your concentration. You finally reached your mom who only held the phone towards you with a teasing smile.
It was then that you felt your change of attitude, you knew who it was just by the look on her face.
“Hello?” You spoke while walking as far as the cord would let you. It was your attempt of getting some privacy but you noticed that your mom lowered the volume of the music that was playing.
“I did it!” He screamed and you could hear the smile on his face.
You laughed at his enthusiasm thinking it had something to do with D&D.
“I’m graduating, I told you this would be my year.” After hearing that you couldn’t help but let out a happy scream while bouncing on your toes. You praised him, telling him how proud you were
Once you both hung up you ran to your mom to tell her the good news. Of course she had to make a few phone calls and let everyone know. Claiming your aunts and uncles should also get invited for the celebration.
There were still some days left for graduation but you still had some homework to finish. Running up to your room you did as much as you could in order to have some free time to help with the preparation. Not just that by you also wanted to spend some time with your boyfriend after the party.
Knowing that other families will also be buying graduation decorations you went with your mom to the store and bought napkins, hats, confetti and anything else that ensured you’d have the best to celebrate.
Your dad had also went to the store with some of your uncles with the promise of buying some non-alcoholic drink. Of course you and your mom knew this wouldn’t be possible. You chose some juices for the little ones, water bottles and sodas.
Next thing you know, it was graduation day. You would go with your siblings to the ceremony. While your mom and everyone else added some final touches to the food and decorations.
In order to get good seats you had to be there early. As you got there you noticed a couple of cars parked giving you plenty of choices to choose from. You walked inside followed by your siblings and sat near the front, you wanted to get the best view. Your mom made some posters and your brothers were holding them in their hands. Meanwhile, you had your Polaroid camera ready to start shooting pictures.
You made sure to save a seat for his uncle who had to step out in order to have a quick smoke.
As the graduates started marching you kept on looking for a certain boy. It was then that you saw him walking in front of some of his friends. He kept on looking around and you were sure he was looking for you as well.
“Eddie!” You screamed, trying to get your voice to be heard over the loud music.
He heard you nonetheless and looked at you with that smile that made you fall in love with him all over again.
You raised your camera up and he posed. Putting up a thumbs up while his other hand was pointing at his graduation cap. You were glad that at that moment they stopped moving in line, this allowed you take a clear picture with no blurs.
As they all took a seat you couldn’t help but notice that there weren’t that many graduates. Which made sense why graduation was so early.
Eddie’s uncle finally came back and you told him where Eddie was sitting.
The speech was just as boring as any other and it was hard to not doze off. Eddie must’ve noticed because whenever you caught his eyes he would make funny faces or mouth you something.
Finally they would call the names of the graduates and when it was Eddie’s turn you and your brothers cheered loudly. Once again you lifted up your Polaroid to take another picture.
As the rest of the students were called you sat down and tapped your foot on the beat up floor. Hoping that time would speed up.
“He’s really lucky to have you, I can see how much you love him. I’m glad you could make it.” His uncle spoke while looking forward. For a moment you thought you imagined it, he usually isn’t much of a talker compared to his nephew.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world.” And you meant it. You could’ve been doing who knows what and you’d still set it aside just so you could be here.
When the ceremony ended all students threw the graduation caps in the air but not Eddie. He ran to where you guys were to engulf you in a kiss. Of course you weren’t complaining but you were a bit embarrassed doing that in front of your siblings. They would never let you live that down.
“I’m hungry, can we go now?” Your younger brother pulled on your shirt. While still holding onto the poster he was forced to carry.
You turned to face Eddie “come on, let’s go to your party.”
Looking back to make sure nothing was left behind you walked out. You could hear his uncle, Wayne, giving Eddie a pat on the shoulder while congratulating him for his success.
You all got in your cars and drive to your house. It was now 5:00 and you were sure that almost everyone will be there already. You weren’t sure how many family members were invited but you were sure the party would last a long time.
Luckily, you managed to find a parking space near your house. Eddie and his uncle didn’t park too far behind you. As you all walked towards your house you walked hand in hand with Eddie forming small circles on his hand with your thumb.
The music was loud you were sure you’d go deaf but taking a look on Eddie’s face he seemed to be the happiest he’s ever been. You weren’t sure what his relationship was with his parents but something told you nobody has ever done something like this for him before.
The party was held in your backyard, balloons were everywhere, your aunts were all sitting on the same table gossiping and your dad and uncles were drinking beer. The music coming from your dad’s Sharp VZ-2500, seemed to be playing music only they wanted to hear.
It was then that your mom saw you guys walking in that she started cheering which caused everyone’s attention to turn to you. They all did the same as well and you heard some claps and whistles.
Letting go of his hand you also started clapping, Eddie’s eyes were looking everywhere just trying to take everything in. As he noticed that the cheering wasn’t going away he did a little bow which caused some laughter to erupt before everyone turned their attention back to what they were doing.
Your uncle was in charge of the food and decided on making carne asada, classic. Some of your aunts contributed by bringing: guacamole, pico de gallo and desserts.
To end the night, some of your tias took turns dancing with Eddie and teaching him new dance moves. Seems that his charm worked on everyone in your family, not just you.

I think Eddie would really love to have a Hispanic partner.
I'm Spanish so I can only talk about the different folklore and culture we have in here, but I have a lot of Latinx friends and I love all I've learnt from them all through the years.
All the folklore and mythology from each country? He'd be SO into that. And it'd be great inspiration for his campaigns and it gives him a reason to let them talk as long as they want about it.
Meeting with a most of the family for any meal? He's dragging Wayne with him. It doesn't matter if it's arepas, tamales, mate, empanadas, croquetas, jamón, pà amb tomàquet, anticuchos, raspao, pupusas, ropa vieja, man is eating it up. Those two can cook but barely make the effort so the leftovers are something they are more than happy about. That's a personal hc but I think he'd really love tequeños.
Now, music he'd have a hard time with. Aside from the fact that he is a metalhead, he is lanky and probably seeing something like bachata probably takes him a whole year to moves those hips. Abuelitas love him regardless, he'd jam with them to Luis Miguel.
Idk I can think of many scenarios and all of them are great. I might be just indulging myself here, but oh well.

Oh my god. This gives me modern!Eddie thots.
First time there's a planned sleepover and the bonnet comes out. Like done with shower and ready to snuggle into his bed, you wipe out the bonnet with a smirk. There's been conversations about it so you're not embarassed by it, but you are nervous for his reaction. But he just laughs as you try to sedutively to get your hair secured for the night. But the second you're done and the bonnet is on and in place, you crawl up the bed to get comfy under the sheets and Eddie's already half mast. It's not that sexy, but god does he love it when you look cozy and happy--like right now. So yep, he definitely has a half-chub at first sight and no, he's not going to be embarrassed about it.
Perhaps, Eddie becomes semi famous on social media (IG, TikTok, whatever your fancy is) between his ridiculous antics--using cheesy pickup lines on you just to get your reaction, which is is always you falling out wherever you are in laughter and running away from him. One particular video is of the two of you in the hair store. You're buying weave for boxbraids or goddess braids and Eddie's adjacent to you, point to hair he likes (one is black with burgundy ends). You mention needed more edge control and hair oil and Eddie seizes the moment, "You know what babe?" he starts.
"What?" you return, not really giving him a second look. You saw the second he pulled out his phone to record so you're just letting it ride.
"My hair isn't the only thing that grows longer."
"Eduardo Munson, I swear to every ancestor I have," you threaten. Your eyes blown wide at what you think will be the butt of the joke and also your laughter is threatening to burst through your chest ans you clutch the shine 'n' jam.
"My love keeps growing for you longer and longer each day."
Your eyes soften, an 'aww' falling from you as you faux pout. "You're-"
"And my dick in the sight of your ass in those leggings."
You chuck the 8 packets of hair in your arms at him, swatting at Eddie as he doubles over. His own laughter heard amongst the thwack--they're weak hits-- and your muttered threats, "I can't take you anywhere, boy. Jesus Christ! At your grown age! I will call yo uncle right now. Don't make me call Wayne cuz you actin' up in this hair store!"
"No! Not Wayne," Eddie pretends to wail. The hits stop and from the camera's perspective, low from Eddie's crouch, the camera fills with you grinning. Your eyes clearly focused on Eddie and not the camera in your face.
Your gaze sparkles, chin falling into Eddie's shoulder a little. "I love you, you know that, right?"
Eddie nods. "I love you too." His voice cracks just a little and he presses a kiss to your forehead.
"Now, please let me assemble these hair packages back together now that I've officially made a fool out of the both of us in this store so I can pay for all the hair I need."
"Of course, amor."

Eddie: 7yrs (Y/n): 6yrs
You were riding your bike to the sound of "It's No Big Deal"
A 7 year old Eddie was sat on the top step of the trailer stairs, huffing somberly. His dad was inside talking to his uncle Wayne. He tried to block out the sound of their shouting but it was hard, especially when Wayne was furious that his brother was such a deadbeat that he couldn’t care less about his own son. He was on the verge of tears when he heard an unfamiliar shout.
“Momma! Momma look!” A little girl that seemed his age came from around the corner of the trailer across the way. She was riding a bike, a little wobbly but she was doing it. Glee clearly evident on her face.
“Momma!” As she shouted, the trailer door slammed open.
“(Y/n)! Stop all that shouting!” An angry looking lady stomped out.
“But Momma, look! I’m riding all by myself.”
Eddie watched as this lady, who was evidently your mother, rolled her eyes and returned into the confines of the trailer.
At the sound of the door slamming shut, you lost your balance and fell with a yelp. A small “Oof!” left your lips as a small bit of dust rose from the ground. Eddie’s eyes widened as a gasp left his lips but before he could even think about getting up to help you, you got up and brushed off your overalls. Chin wobbling as tears threatened to fall, huffing in frustration.
And you're trying to lift off the ground on those old two wheels
Noticing that you weren’t alone, you turned to the boy with buzzed hair. In turn, Eddie’s cheeks burned and he quickly looked away.
Taking a deep, steadying breath, you nodded in determination and walked over to him.
The sound of dirt and rocks crunching underneath your sneakers made Eddie’s heart race. He wanted to avoid any confrontation and run but he didn’t know the area and didn’t want to get lost.
“Are you new here?” Face hot and flushed, he turned to her and nodded. Noting how your face lit up.
“Really? Awesome!” You grinned. “There aren’t a lot of kids here.” You stuck your hand out. “I’m (Y/n). What’s your name?”
Hesitantly, he reached out and slotted his trembling hand against yours.
“I’m E-Eddie.”
“Do you want to be friends?”
“Y-yeah. Sure.”
Eddie: 13yrs (Y/n): 12yrs
It was the summer before school started back up and Wayne had just bought Eddie a guitar. He was through the roof and was ecstatic. He ran out of the trailer, heart racing, lips in a permanent smile. That was until he caught sight of you in the kitchen window. Frown pulling the ends of your lips down, eyebrows furrowed.
Nothing about the way that you were treated ever seemed especially alarming 'til now
“Why can’t you do the dishes like I asked, (Y/n)!” Your mom shouted.
“I was going to do them mom.”
“¡Pero te dije hace una hora, y todavía no lo haces!” (but I told you an hour ago and you still haven’t done them!)
“But-”
Eddie’s breath caught in his throat as your mother slapped you.
“¡Quiero que hagas las cosas en el momento que te lo digo! ¿Entendido?” (I want you to do what I tell you immediately when I tell you. Understood?)
You opened your mouth but struggled to speak with the lump in your throat, so you resorted to a nod. Eddie flinched when your mother raised her hand once more.
“¡Te pregunte algo! ¿Entiendes o no?” (I asked you a question! Do you understand?)
“Yes! Yes, mom. I’m sorry.”
“Okay, no grites cuando estoy tan cerca. ¡Hazlo, pero ya!” (Don’t yell when I’m right in front of you. Go do it, now!)
So you tie up your hair and you smile like it's no big deal
Once your mother was out of sight, your shoulders trembled as a few tears slipped down your cheeks. You only allowed yourself a few seconds to feel frustrated and hurt before you hastily wiped your tears, collecting all your hair and putting it in a quick ponytail.
Turning to the sink, you gripped the edge before taking a deep breath and looking out the window, eyes widening at the sight of Eddie. Shame and embarrassment knotting in your stomach but he’d never know it.
You can let it go
Confusion filled his entire being as you flashed him a picture perfect smile and sent him a brief wave before finally starting your task of washing the dishes.
He’d have to show off his new guitar another time.
Eddie: 13yrs (Y/n): 12yrs
“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, our dear (Y/n)! Happy birthday to you!” You grinned as Wayne and Eddie sang, slightly out of tune, as you sat in front of a lopsided birthday cake. Candles bright and enchanting.
You can throw a party full of everyone you know
“Come on! Come on! Make a wish!” Eddie shouted, an almost maniacal smile parting his lips.
Fondly shaking your head, you closed your eyes and took a deep breath before opening them and blowing out the candles.
“Atta girl.” Wayne smiled, ruffling the hair on your head. “Now open your present.” He handed you a pink sparkly gift bag.
“You got me a present?” Your eyes were wide with awe as you carefully took the bag. Placing it down on the counter, you carefully pulled out the tissue paper and peered inside, a gasp leaving your lips. You eagerly reached in, pulling the object out.
‘D&D PLAYER GUIDE AND HANDBOOK’ was printed on the cover in big red bold letters. You unabashedly grinned, pulling the second object from the gift bag. It was a small velvet pouch that clacked when you shook it. Tugging it open and pouring some of the contents in your hand, a pair of dice fell into your palm.
Next thing you knew, Eddie had a grip on your wrist and was pulling you off to his room
Chuckling, Wayne shook his head and started to pull the extinguished candles from their places on your cake, looking up when the sound of Eddie’s door opening had reached his ears. You rushed over to him and basically threw your body against his, arms wrapping around his middle.
“Thank you.” Your words were muffled but he heard them. Wrapping his arms around you, he cradled the back of your head with one of his hands. At the feeling of a dampness seeping against his shirt and your hands clutching the back of his flannel, he held you tighter.
And not invite your family, 'cause they never showed you love
He knew about what was happening at home.
It was hard not to when you had come over multiple times with a new bruise or injury. It was worse now that your mom was gone. Your dad was seemingly worse than she was. So, without a positive father figure in your life, Wayne immediately filled that role with ease.
He waited. He knew you needed this, so he was content with holding you until you were ready.
When you did let go, he smiled.
“Anytime, sweetheart.”
A few hours later, you and Eddie were still reading through your handbooks and making your own characters when someone started to pound against the trailer door.
You tensed when you heard a familiar, slurred voice join Wayne’s in the living.
“You’re not her father, Wayne! I can do whatever I damn well please!”
“Look man, you’re drunk. I ain’t sending her home with you!” Wayne rarely ever shouted.
“You don’t have to do shit, I’ll drag her home myself.”
“Don’t even think about it.”
“Get your damn hands off me!” Quickly getting up off the floor, you ran out into the living. You didn’t want to be the reason Wayne got wailed on by your dad.
“Dad, stop!”
“(Y/n), sweetheart, go back to the room with Eddie.” Wayne stood between you and your father.
“No, no it’s okay. It’s getting late, Mr.Munson. I don’t want to be a bother.”
“See man.” Your father smirked. “She wants to come home.” He pushed past Wayne and gripped your bicep.
“Ow, ow dad, stop! You’re hurting me!”
Eddie watched from the hallway as your father held a bruising grip on your arm and pulled you out the door.
Both he and Wayne flinched at the sound of your father shouting obscenities at you as he tossed you into the house.
You don't have to be sorry for leaving and growing up
Eddie: 18yrs (Y/n): 17yrs
“What the hell?” Eddie blanched at the sight of your bruised cheekbone and blistered lip. He hadn’t seen you since Friday.
You hopped into the passenger’s seat of his van and tugged on your seatbelt. Tossing your boot clad feet up onto the dashboard. “Are you okay?” He started driving.
“Hmm? Yeah, why?” You nonchalantly fiddled with your fingers.
Matilda, you talk of the pain like it's all alright
“Oh, I don’t know (Y/n)? Maybe because of the giant bruise on your face. I thought you said he had stopped?”
“Well, I got home late from my shift at Terry’s and my dad flipped. Accused me of whoring around and stuff.” You shrugged.
“What?” You asked at his stunned silence. “I should’ve said no when Mae asked me to cover for her.” Not wanting to deal with the questions, you quickly changed the subject. “D’you guys have band practice today?”
But I know that you feel like a piece of you's dead inside
Eddie knew what you were doing but went along with it anyway.
“Yeah, after school. Wanna come along?”
“Yeah, sure. I don’t have a shift today.”
Eddie turned to look at you and his heart dropped, you were staring blankly out the window. Going off to that place that you’ve been visiting a lot more frequently, as of late. A place deep in your head. He was terrified that, one day, you wouldn’t come back. He didn’t want to lose you.
Wordlessly, he reached over and grabbed your hand. The feeling of the rough pad of his thumb gently caressing your knuckles brought you back.
“You can always come to me, ya know? Or Wayne.” He added, not letting go of your hand. “That’s why we gave you a spare key.”
You slipped your fingers in between his and squeezed. “I know.” You muttered, voice thick with unshed tears. “Thank you.”
Not taking his eyes off the road, he brought your intertwined hands and kissed the back of yours.
You showed me a power that is strong enough to bring sun to the darkest days
“At some point, you have to realize that the prank isn’t worth the ass beating. Right?” You asked while gathering what you needed as Eddie sat glumly on your bathroom counter.
“Well where’s the fun in that?” He asked, watching you saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol.
“Spread 'em, Munson.” You playfully pushed his legs apart and stood in between them. “This is gonna sting.” You leaned forward and gently dabbed at the split near his eyebrow, free hand bracing yourself on his chest.
Worried that you were gonna lose your balance, he carefully gripped your hips. The action makes your heart race speed up and as you continued to work, he kept them there.
Finally placing the butterfly bandage against his cut, you stepped back a bit to admire his features. The slope of his nose, his pretty eyelashes, his strong jawline, full pink lips-
Cheeks flushing with heat, you cleared your throat.
“I’m gonna have to start charging you some medical fees, Eds.”
Noticing your attempt to free yourself from his grip, he held on tighter.
“Nuh uh, you’re not done yet.”
Huffing a sigh, you held his face in your hands.
“Sana, sana, colita de rana. Si no sana hoy, sana mañana.” You recited gently before stretching your neck and placing a feather soft kiss against his bandaged injury.
The tenderness of the situation made his heart soar. His pretty eyes fluttered open to find yours already gazing at him. An unknown force tugging you two together until your noses brushed.
“Eds…” It was almost a whimper as you shut your eyes, leaning in. Eddie mimicked you. Lips barely an inch away.
“(Y/n)! Where the hell are you?!” You both jumped away from each other.
“Shit.” You muttered, ripping yourself away. Slamming the door shut and twisting the lock, you turned to him. “Go out the window. He can’t catch you in here.” You tugged him off the counter and pushed him over to the window. “Hurry!” You seethed.
It's none of my business, but it's just been on my mind
A fist slamming on the door made you both jump.
“Open the fucking door!”
Eddie made it out the window before turning back to you. “But I can’t leave you to-”
“It’ll be worse if he finds you here with me.” You slammed it shut, pulling down the window shade.
The sound of your father hitting you haunted his dreams.
You're just in time, make your tea and your toast
Later that night, like clockwork, your father started to spout some bullshit. Absolutely drunk off his ass and throwing things. Eddie popped in a movie and started boiling water.
As it bubbled, he removed it from the stove and poured it into a mug, tossing a bag of black tea in it.
The door to your trailer slammed shut and Eddie rushed over the door. It opened and there you were. Tears running down your cheeks.
He pulled you into his embrace and didn't let go. He held you as your sobs turned violent.
“You’re okay, I’ve got you. You’re safe.” He continued to comfort you, guiding you to the couch. Pulling away to grab the mug and rejoined you on the couch.
You don't have to go
You don't have to go home
The trailer door creaked open, Wayne huffing tiredly as he kicked off his boots. All stress melting away at the sight of the tops of two familiar heads.
Carefully approaching the couch, it was a sight to see.
The both of you were slouched against the couch, your head resting on Eddie’s shoulder, his arm hugging you into his side. Mouths open, drool slipping from the corner of Eddie’s mouth and quiet snores coming from yours.
Grabbing the throw blanket, he carefully placed it over the both of you. Leaning down and kissing the crowns of your heads.
You can let it go
You can throw a party full of everyone you know
You can start a family who will always show you love
You don't have to be sorry

Dance of Death
Okay, so I've been (like everyone else) absolutely in LOVE with Mr. Eddie Munson! And I just needed to join the fanfic party.
Also yes I know Dance of Death came out in 2008 but for this fic let's just pretend it came out in 1983 with Peace of Mind, okay?
Anyone that knows me, knows that my all time favorite band is Iron Maiden. And a certain song popped in my head while thinking of storylines. I hope this is adequate, it's very late 😅
PAIRING: Eddie Munson x FEM! HISPANIC! Reader!
WARNINGS: A mention of racism, but nothing explicit. Jason, because he needs a warning 🙄. Bullies are ew.
CONTENT: ANGST, Seemingly unrequited love, Dustin being the very bestest friend ever! Ending in fluff!
---------------------------------
Tumblr media
There was something about him. Something that made her lose all brain function to act normally. There isn't a thing he could do wrong in her eyes. Edward Munson. The name alone made her blush. How could she not? There's just something about him...
Could it be his messy long hair? His rock and roll style? His sense of humor? His love and care for his friends? The was he defends her so easily and so often? Who knows, actually.
She'd hadn't known him that long. The beginning of her second senior year (not meeting requirements to graduate the first time), his third. Right off the bat she wasnt accepted in most friend groups. Her coming from a whole other state, well away from the tiny secluded town that is Hawkins, Indiana. Not to mention she's one of the only Hispanic people in the high school in general. It also didn't help that she dressed all in black all the time. No one really cared enough to look her way, outright avoiding her to some extent. She's the new kid on the block, she understood that much. Why no one bothered to befriend her was a whole new experience.
Her pervious town was just outside Juarez, Mexico. Her whole neighborhood was so welcoming, never letting her feel left out of the festivities that went on in school. Here? In Hawkins? It felt like she was ghost. A ghost no one liked or wanted around. A certain Jason Carver particularly wasn't fond of her. Him and his petty group of friends would go out of their way to make her day worse. Shouting names, "accidentally" bumping into her in the hallways, going as far to spill his drink on her occasionally. She still keeps a change of clothes in her locker just in case.
She had been on her own those first two months. Hating every minute of it, wishing she could just go back home. It had been a particularly rough day with Jason when two freshmen had seen enough. Jason and his bully buddies had just pushed her to ground, kicking her backpack before laughing and walking away. She'd been humiliated, defeated, just wanting to cry in the bathroom. The two young boys bent down to help her pick up her things, introducing themselves as Dustin and Mike. The boys were her first friends. Sure, they were younger, but they'd been the only ones to show her kindness so far.
It had been a week after that they'd introduce her to the Hellfire Club. Jeff and Gareth welcomed her right away, interested in her culture and language. Lucas didn't mind her really, being a little preoccupied trying to get on the good side of the basketball team. Eddie, however, was absolutely smitten. She was everything he'd want in a woman. Someone he related to in many ways. She didn't live with her parents, her grandma taking her in after a falling out between the family. She loved rock, she played the drums, and was so. fucking. funny. Why hadn't he noticed her before?
Now, all those months later, they were all good friends. She finally felt like she found her people. Her little family in this swarm of assholes that flooded the school. Sure, Jason and his stupid gang still messed with her. But nothing could truly brings her down if Hellfire could pick her back up.
Senior prom was coming up, and although she didn't have a date, she was secretly hoping Eddie would ask her. The one person she'd put up with prom for. She'd do anything for him, honestly. There was a million reasons not to go to prom, but if Eddie was going? That was the one reason to go.
Her hope was dwindling, however. She'd noticed earlier that day a miss Chrissy Cunningham slip a note in Eddie's locker. That was out of the ordinary, considering she was a part of Jason's little clique. She was nice, Y/n guessed. Never joining her past boyfriend in the harassment toward her but never putting a stop to it either. Eddie had mentioned once or twice that he used to have a liking for Chrissy, but that was in middle school. Y/n was hoping the little note was for anything but prom.
Lunch came, and everyone was sitting at their claimed table. Everyone except for Eddie. Something Jeff caught on to first. "Where the hell is Eddie? Lunch is halfway done." To that everyone looked around. "Maybe he had a deal going on today." Jareth added in. "Doubt it. It's the middle of the school day, he wouldn't take the risk." Jeff and Gareth continued going back and forth, Y/n getting too lost in her head to keep up with what they were saying. He's never late for lunch. Where could he be?
"Speak of the devil. It's about damn time, man. We need to plan for tonight!" Dustin spotted him walking up to the table. There was something about him that was different. She'd never seen that smile before, a light flush on his face along with it. He shrugged off Dustins complaint. "We'll get to the planning in a minute, Henderson. I got big news right now!" Everyone at full attention, egging him to tell the big news.
"I'm going to prom!" Y/n's jaw dropped a little. Going to prom? With who? "Really? Who's the lucky lady, huh? Who?!" Mike was eager to find out who, just as she was. "Chrissy fucking Cunningham. She just asked me like 10 minutes ago!"
She was happy for him, really she was. But in that moment she couldn't smile. She couldn't congratulate him, applaud him, nothing. She felt... Broken. Falling, falling so fast; plummeting to the cold, hard ground and no one could catch her. The only person who noticed her fall is Dustin. He'd been the only one she told about her not-so-little crush on Eddie.
Dustin looked at her with a sympathized expression. Knowing full well she wasn't okay with this. She turned to him, too. Waving her hand with a notion that she's okay. Even though they both know she very much wasn't.
"Damn! That's awesome, man. Congratulations, didn't know you had it in you to pull something like that." The boys were proud of him. Of course they were, it's Chrissy fucking Cunningham. Little miss perfect of Hawkins High. The head cheerleader, straight A's, a slim body, nice personality. Everything that Y/n was not. Nothing made her self confidence shoot down faster than this.
No wonder he'd never ask her to prom. She didn't have anything he wanted. Chrissy did.
She kept her head down. Not having enough emotional energy to keep up a conversation. Just wanting to go home. Perhaps she'll just go home after lunch.
Wait. But then she'd have to just come back anyway for Hellfire tonight. A very important campaign to not only Eddie, but the rest of the boys too. Not to mention Dustin's lecture he'd give her about skipping it. She'd never hear the end of it.
The boys never stopped talking about Eddie "The Freak" Munson going to prom with Chrissy Cunningham. Not really having the heart to hear anymore of this, she stands up to throw her food away. She barely ate. "I'm gonna head to the library, kay? I have some catching up to do on Mr. Kellins paper." Without another word, she makes a bee line to the door.
"Mr. Kellins has a paper due?" Jeff not really getting the hint that she just wanted to leave. Dustin opted to follow her, knowing she'll probably want to vent. He looked up to her, like the big sister he never had. He was protective, odd as it is. To be protective of someone 4 years older than you. She wasn't blood, but he considered her family nonetheless.
Eddie noticed her change in behavior as well. He saw the rush she was in to leave, and Dustin's departure after her. Figuring Dustin would tell him later, he turns back to Jareth, who's bragging how he also got a prom date.
-
"Y/n? Are you okay?" She was in the back of the library, sitting on the floor with a random book in her hand. A book she probably grabbed just to have a reason to be here. "Honestly, Dust? Not really." Her legs are shaking slightly, trying her very hardest not to cry. What's her problem? Its not like she and Eddie are dating, he can go to prom with whoever the fuck he wants.
"I'm sorry, Y/n. He's an idiot for taking Chrissy and not you. A huge one." He tries his best to make her smile, but to no avail. "See that's the thing, Dust. He hasn't seen me. He probably just thinks of me as his sister or some shit. I'm nothing more than one of the boys. That's all I'll ever be." He could hear the heartache in her voice the tears she's kept in for so long. She'd let slip a couple months ago that all the boys she ever liked never liked her back. She called herself 'not traditionally pretty.' He assumed she meant like she wasn't like the pretty girls that got all the dates. Her skin was darker, her body was fuller, her hair was crazier. Boys never looked her way, it had been chipping away at her self esteem for years, Eddie was just the icing on the cake.
Dustin sits next to her, his back leaning on the bookshelf behind them. "Y/n, like I said. He's an idiot. He needs shit spelled out her him to even get it through his head. I know he likes you. Not like one of the guys, either. He really likes you. I know it." Y/n wants to believe him. But there was a voice in the back of her head. If that was true, why was he going with Chrissy and not her?
"Are you going to prom?" Dustin asks. She shakes her head. "What, and see them dancing all close together? Seeing them be like a couple? No fucking thank you. I'm gonna stay home. I wanna practice a new song." Figuring changing the subject to something she loved to do, he asks "What new song?" She perks up a bit and the question. "It's not really new, but Iron Maiden has a song called Dance of Death. I've been wanting to try it out for some time now. What better time than now?" They continue chatting for a bit more until the bell rings, signalling lunch was over and to head to class. Before they went their separate ways, Y/n game Dustin a hug. "Thank you. For checking up on me. I really appreciate it." Dustin hugs her back, "of course, Y/n. You're like a sister to me. I'm not just gonna leave you to cry in the library all alone." She laughs a bit at this, giving him one last squeeze. "I'll see you later, Dust."
-
It was right after school. Dustin, Mike, and Eddie were preparing for Hellfire. "So, you wanna tell me what was wrong with Y/n earlier?" Eddie started up the conversation. He'd tried to track her down after class, but to no avail.
"No." It was fast and a little bit venomous. Dustin was furious as him. How could he not be?! Eddie was tossing aside treasure to get with a nickel. He had no idea the pain he'd been causing Y/n. Even if he did, would he care?
Eddie looks up from the table. "What? Why not?" Mikes listening intently from the side, trying not to intervene. "Because it's her privacy. She's going through something right now and it's not my place to spill the beans. If you wanna know so bad maybe actually talk her." His attitude was showing through, and he didn't mean for it to come out so mean. He's just protective of his best friend.
"Hey, dude, I'm just asking. Kay? No need to get your feathers ruffled." Eddie tries to make the room fun again, cracking a joke at the end. He can't seem to shake this feeling, though. One he can't really pinpoint as to why. There's something wrong with Y/n? She always goes to him about her problems. Why can't she just come to him now?
"Hey guys!" Y/n was the first to arrive, slight red eyes with makeup piled on top of it. Enough for Eddie and Dustin to pick up on it, but not enough to say anything.
"Hey Y/n, we're just setting up now. You're pretty early today." Mike wants to break free of the tension that was currently in the room. "Yeah... I wanted to get here before Jason found me in the hallways again." She internally cringes at the remembrance of what happened last week when he saw her. He tripped her, calling her some racist name he could think of in the moment and then laughed in her face. She didn't think Jason was actually racist, but just wanting to hurt her in any way he can. Or maybe he was, she didn't really care enough to know.
"Carver can choke on a dick. He has no right to harass you the way he does." He's angry, of course he is. The way he's so quick to defend her makes that sparkle of hope shine once more. That is until she remembers that prom is in literally two weeks and he's going, but not with her.
"What can you do, huh? Let's finish setting up, kay?" She sets her bag down and avoids eye contact, ignoring the strange looks she gets from Eddie throughout the night.
-
That was probably the worst end to a campaign ever for her. She was thrown so off her game she died 15 minutes in. Spending the rest of her time just following along and giving advice when needed. God, she just wanted to go home.
Finally walking to her car, she was stopped by a concerned metalhead. "Y/n! Are you okay? You've been... Distant today." He desperately wanted to know what was wrong without pushing her too far.
"I'm fine Eddie. Just wanna go home, okay?" She tries to leave the situation as soon as possible, but Eddie refuses to leave it at that. "But Dustin said you're going through something. Whatever it is you know can talk to me too, right?" Y/n pauses, contemplating her answer. "I'm sure I can, Ed. Please just let go of my arm." He didn't even realize he had a hold on her, quickly letting go. "Just... Y/n don't leave me out of it, okay? I'm here for you, whatever way you need me."
Yeah but the way I need you you don't even want.
"I'll see you later, Ed." She gets in her car and drives off. Leaving Eddie in the parking lot alone.
-
The two weeks flew by like nothing. Eddie and Chrissy spending more time together alone, Y/n opting to take her lunches in the library, not wanting to see the boy she loved with someone much prettier than her. Dustin tries his best being there for her, spending every other day in the library with her.
"She actually changed my grade from a D- to an A! Can you believe that?" Dustin's blabbing about something Suzie did for him, she wasn't really paying attention. "Hey! Y/n! Are you even listening to me?" He claps his hands in front of her, snapping her out of her head.
"Sorry! Sorry! Just zoned out over here." She looked to the side, avoiding eye contact with the freshman. Knowing he'll know exactly what's on her mind. "Is it Eddie again?" Slowly she nodded, not wanting to cry. "Prom is in two days and all Eddie can talk about Chrissy. Chrissy this, Chrissy that. That's all I fucking hear about and I feel like I'm losing my mind. Imagine if Suzie kept talking about some guy that you thought was so much better than you. Wouldn't you be hurt too?"
Dustin nods slowly. Of course he would be. He really likes Suzie, and the the thought of her fawning over someone else made him sad.
"I don't think I'm gonna make it to Hellfire tonight, Dust. Not given what's going on. I think I just gotta get over him. How? I have no clue." The younger boy stands up, "What? But the ending of the cult of Vecna is tonight! What about the campaign?" She looks up at him sadly. "I promise you guys can do it without me. I just don't think I'd be much help tonight." Her voice drops, and it's then and there that Dustin realizes the full extent of her situation.
She's completely in love with him. And he's got his eyes on someone else.
He knew he had to do something. What that was? He didn't know. What he did know was that he hated seeing someone he cared about crying alone in the library. She was broken, lost. Not knowing where to go from here.
"sigh... Promise me you'll try your best to feel better okay?" She smiled softly at him, ruffling up his hair. "I promise, Dust." From that moment, he knew he couldn't keep quiet about this anymore.
-
Hellfire had just finished, not ending on a very high note, but hopeful nevertheless. The only ones left were Eddie and Dustin, deciding it was how or never.
"You're a idiot, Eddie." That caught him off guard. Sure, Dustin had been a little off today, but Eddie figured it was some freshman puberty thing. Not an Eddie thing.
"Excuse me?" Eddie stood up, approaching the younger boy with a confused look on his face. "You heard me. Do you even want to go to prom this year?" Prom? This whole thing was about prom?
"I mean not originally, no. But Chrissy really wants to go so.. Why the hell not, ya know?" Dustin was having none of it, his patience running thin. "You told me you don't even like Chrissy anymore. Why are you so damn hung up on her now of all times?" The room was getting tense.
"Hey. She asked me. I just said yes. It's not like I had bigger plans anyway." It wasn't a lie. He guesses he'd probably be in his room alone that night anyway. Unless Y/n would've wanted to do anything, in that case it was a whole new situation.
"What about Y/n? Do you even are about her anymore?" Dustin stood up from his chair. "What are you talking about? Of course I care about her!" The freshman scoffed, "You have a pretty funny way of showing it. You've been practically ignoring her since Chrissy came in the picture. I bet you barley even noticed she didn't come to hellfire today, huh?"
Of course Eddie noticed. It was the main reason team morale was down, the reason they'd all had retreated the fight. Their best girl and fighter wasn't there. "I did notice actually. I also noticed she hasn't been coming to lunch with us either. AND that no one seems to know the real reason except you. So why don't you just tell me what's really going on, Henderson. Enlighten me."
"She's in love with you, dumbass!"
Quiet. Neither of them breaking the deafening silence that engulfed the room. Dustin was mad, furious even, that Eddie had been so oblivious to the pain he'd been causing her.
"What?" Eddie couldn't believe it. Love? She actually loved him back? Why hadn't she said anything before? Why didn't he say anything before?
It all made sense. Chrissy. Prom. Y/n. That's why Y/n was so distant. He was going to prom, but with Chrissy. Not her.
"Y/n has been heartbroken the last two weeks! She can't even go to lunch because all you talk about is Chrissy. Chrissy Chrissy Chrissy. We get it, you wanna get in Chrissy's pants. But for gods sake, man, think! She sits in the library all alone because that's where she'd rather be than sitting in the cafeteria listening to how much she isn't what you want."
Dustin was about to explode. All the pent up anger was coming out. His brotherly protectiveness showing full scale, and Eddie deserved it all.
How could he be so blind? So stupid?
"Why... How come she never said anything? I-" His thoughts getting jumbled in his head. "She said she didn't wanna destroy the friendship. But Eddie, I'm gonna be honest, I think that's happening anyway." Eddie's heart shatters. The girl of his dreams, the person he'd do anything for. His very reason to keep coming to school! She's hurting, broken, thinking he doesn't care for her, love her.
And it's all his fault.
How could he fix this? It wasn't like he could just snap his fingers and change back time to before Chrissy asked him to prom. Oh how he wished he could do that.
"You're wrong about one thing, Henderson. She is what I want. Hell, she's all I want! Chrissy... I said yes because I didn't think Y/n would want to go, let alone with me." Dustin shakes his head. "Okay? You should've at least made sure before putting her through all of this shit. This is stuff you need to be telling her. Not me!"
"I know! I know! Shit, I don't know how I'm gonna fix this..." Eddie deflates, sitting down with his hands in his face. "I really fucked up, didn't I?" Dustin sits next to him, patting his friend on the shoulder. "Yeah, you did. But on the bright side, you know she likes you back now, right? Now figure out the next move."
-
The night of prom. Tonight. A night full of excitement and adventure for most. But for Y/n, it'll just be a regular Saturday. She'd skipped school the day prior, Opting for a quiet day in to collect herself. Mostly to avoid Eddie at all costs, not sure if she could really handle it.
Eddie had waited in the library for her to show up for lunch that day, hoping to explain everything, but she never showed. He instead got weird glances from the scattered students and librarian, not used to seeing Eddie in a place like a library.
He also waited after school, but gave up after noticing her car nowhere to be seen. Chrissy had found him instead, confused as to why he'd been standing sadly in the parking lot for ten minutes. It was there Eddie told her everything. Why lie? She'd deserved to know the truth too.
Chrissy had initially been disappointed, but came clean as well. Confessing she still had feelings for Jason, and was hoping to just make him jealous by showing up to prom with Eddie. They then had the mutual decision to just stay peers, nothing more. Something that took a huge chunk of weight off of Eddies chest.
Now prom was merely hours away, and Eddie was thinking of a plan. Best case scenario, he proclaims his love and sorries, she forgives him, and they get together and live happily ever after. Worst case scenario, anything other than that.
Y/n had been in the middle of the song when Eddie comes bursting in the room. Her grandma had taken quite a liking toward Eddie, Y/n guesses she's the one who let him in the house.
"Y/n! Please I need to talk to you." He was nervous, anxiety ridden. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. Y/n stands up from her drum set, walking past him to her water bottle. "I'm a little busy right now, Ed."
Eddie approaches her, hoping his confession would work. "Just... Hear me out, okay? Please?" She nods at him, praying this is just something that has to do with hellfire.
"I'm not going to prom with Chrissy." Her ears perked up at this. "Okay, so? You came all this way to tell me just that?" She didn't mean to keep up the attitude, but she didn't want to get her hopes up, either.
"I also know why you've been so distant. I know... Everything. I know you're feelings for me and I know how hurt you've been these past weeks. And Y/n I'm so so sorry. I wish I would've seen it sooner." He was staring in her eyes, searching for any kind of response.
"How do you know?" Tears were filling her eyes, she had no idea why. Raw emotion was building up without her consent.
He smiles at her softly, "A little birdie told me." She backs up, tossing her drumsticks on the chair. "Fucking Henderson, man. He can't keep a secret for shit." She'd confided in him, told him all her fears, insecurities, worries. All with the hopes of him keeping it between them. She felt a little hurt, but she can't help but feel a weight lift off her shoulders. Now everything was out in the open, and she could face rejection head on.
"Hey don't be mad him, I needed to know. Boy did he let me know, too. He'd probably have my head on a stick if I wasn't here right now." She laughs slightly. Dustin always acted like an older brother, despite her being 4 years older than he was. Never stopped their bond as family, though.
"Why are you here, Eddie? You couldn't tell me you didn't like me back on Monday?" He grabs her hands, holding them together, close to his chest. "That's the thing, Y/n. I do like you back. Just as much if not more than you like me." He's pleading with his eyes for her to listen, to understand. She shakes her head, looking anywhere but him.
"Eddie, that makes no sense. If that was true why were you going with her to begin with? Why wait 'til two hours before prom to confess your love for me?" He holds her tighter, "I should've told you all this a long time ago, and I'm so sorry, baby. I was scared. Hell, I still am! You're so beautiful it's intimidating. Why would someone as drop dead gorgeous as you like a freak like me?"
She laughs and looks down, tears falling freely now. "We're both freaks, dummy. I was planning on spending the whole night right here on the drums." He places a hand on her cheek, softly stroking it. "If you'd let me, could I join you?"
Their foreheads inch closer together, both of them being highly aware of the distance getting smaller. "What, you don't wanna go to prom?" Smaller. "Not if you're not there, babe." Smaller. "Then stay here with me." Smaller. "Gladly."
The distance is gone, her lips finally on his and it's. fucking. amazing. Nothing had been as sweet as her, or soft as him. It was like 2 pieces of a puzzle, fitting perfectly together like they were made for each other. Hands starting to roam, but before anything else could happen, breathing was a necessity.
Their foreheads leaning on each other once again. The tension now completely gone, all that's left is a room full of love and adoration. Both of them waiting so long to finally be here in the moment, neither of them wanting to let go just yet.
"So... Wanna show me what song you're playing?"

Part 1
Summary: you overhear a conversation and walk into something that you could never forget. You have feelings for Eddie Munson. But he doesn't even know you exist.
(Kinda how Joe Quinn is out there in the world not knowing you love him and he doesn't even know you exist.) Yeah I was kinda down at the thought. It's kida pathetic I know. Didn't know you could fall for someone when you haven't even met. Welp I guess Im gonna hurt my feelings today.
💔😮‍💨
Life was always difficult growing up in Hawkins. Your mother was a single mom raising 5 kids. 2 sisters who were older and 2 brothers that were younger. Your mom put herself thru college and worked so much she was hardly there. Being that your sisters were older they stayed with their father mostly. All of you had different absentee fathers.
While you stood back help raising one of your brothers. For the most part you were alone. Taking care of yourself at 10 years old. Your father left before you were born. Your mother dated of course. For some reason she always picked up low life's that hit her or did drugs. One time her and her husband of like 2 months was fighting with her. When you went to the room he was on top of her choking her. You were 12 and your little brother was 4. You watched in horror as your little brother jumped on the bastards back and being flung off hitting the door across the room. You grabbed whatever you could and pull that son of bitches hair and started hitting him in the back. Screaming for him to get off of her. You didn't remember how the fight ended but you did remember the trauma that asshole left in his wake. He would do things in a sexual nature towards you. One night he went to the bathroom that was the only one in the small 2 bedroom house. He had to go thru your room to go there. You were laying in your bunk bed reading when he opened the door. You saw him in only some tight Leapard print underwear. He had a sinister grin twirling around so that you could see him. You scoffed not knowing what he was trying to do. And turned around so you didn't have to face him. He stood in the bathroom for a few minutes before leaving. You figured he was getting dressed. Not even 5 minutes later you heard your mom in a laughing fit.
One night you were asleep and you woke up to the sounds of grunting. You looked up with with your hand around his shaft. Your recoiled and he quickly got dressed and left. You didn't know what he was until you got older. The next time anything happened you wanted to go swimming And he was on the pool keeping you from going in. He said if you wanted to come in you had to do something. He had you touch his privates. And after he was finished he warned you not to tell. Or he would hurt your mom. He kept doing things like that for a few months giving you money afterwards. That's when you started to get fat. You remember when your sister made fun of how big your thighs were getting. You didn't know you were depressed. That's when your mom had another baby. His. You loved your little brother. Any time that shit stain would get close to him you would become upset. It was one day everything changed. You were in the kitchen finding something to eat when your mom and him came in and were arguing about something. When your older sister came in to try and stop them. But now things got physical. He was pulling your mom's hair. And your mom was hitting him. Your sister pushed you to the side and was kneeing him in the face. That's when your uncle came in and broke up the fight. You heard your mom arguing with your sister about it. This all seemed so normal for you. But I wasn't. The last time he had you touch him you cried and he stopped. The next day you were done. You sat in the living room at 13 years old. Your other sister was there for the weekend. And she was watching a movie. You started to cry and she asked what was up. If that your boyfriend broke up with you or something. But you didn't have one. So you told her what was going on with him. She was furious. She went to your mom to tell her. And your mom didn't even questioned you. They left for a while and your older sister sat there trying to get you to tell her everything. But you couldn't. You did say that he never touched you down there. He just wanted you to touch him. She told you about one time he made a sexual gesture towards her and your other sister a while back. But they thought it was a joke. That's why they didn't come over so much.
That's when your mom and sister came back dragging him instead. He was bruised and bloody. He was saying that you were lying. That's when you went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. Tears running down your face as you held it towards him. You begged for him to tell them the truth when one of your sisters grabbed the knife and pulled you outside. You guys walked for a while and when you return the cops had taken him. After that you never saw him again. You guys moved to a new house freed from all the bad memories. But your relationship with your mother was strained. Constant physical altercations and arguing. It got so bad that you ran away multiple times. Your mother didn't believe you when that happened. But out of the sake of her other children she had too. She has been alone ever since. So with no help to raise the kids she left that up to you. She works multiple jobs. Mostly night shifts. She hit you a lot over small things growing up. And you never cried. Which made her hit you more and more using whatever she could grab. Finally in 8th grade you started to smoke and drink. Buying weed from Eddie Munson. You never said anything more than how much you needed and a goodbye. He never noticed you. As you got older you started to have feelings for him. But he didn't even know you exist other than that you were a regular customer. In highschool you attended parties that he would be at getting shit face as much as possible. You would see him flirting with girls and taking them upstairs. He was so handsome so nice but he was a horny teenager.
It was one night you overhead him talking to Chrissy Cunningham by the front door. You leaned against the wall around the corner. He was putting on his charm. He was trying to get with her. And from the sounds of her giggles it was working. You sunk to the floor when you heard them leave together. You wished you were brave enough to tell him you liked him.
Finally getting the courage one day out in the woods where you normally bought from Eddie. He was smiling while opening his metal lunch box. And handed you a baggie with 3 rolled up joints.
" can I tell you something Munson?
" you already did" he chuckled with his big brown eyes creasing. Noticing you were uncomfortable he stopped laughing." Uhh Yeah go for it."
"I uhh I like you. A lot." You said nervously.
Eddie leaned back with wide eyes and a frown on his face." Oh umm ok... thanks. Uhhh is that all?"
You nodded and he got up.
" Uhh see you around." He said and left.
You stopped buying from him that day. But it's like he didn't even notice. You had loads of classes with him since kindergarten. But he never saw you. I mean why would he. You were this overweight unpopular weirdo. You had very little friends and a shitty home life. No one would ever be interested in you.
...
You were at a party once in your junior year on your 18th birthday. You were kinda old for a junior but you were held back twice in middle school. When you saw Eddie He was taking some random chick upstairs. You were in love with him. Or what you thought was love. It hurt everytime he smiled. Or when he would be so dramatic at school. You honestly hoped he wouldn't graduate so you could see him all the time. He was an angel in a world full of monsters.
You had to pee so bad. You stumbled around looking for the bathroom upstairs. You opened door after door looking. When you opened one and saw Eddie sitting on the bed and some chick on her knees.
" Shit I'm sorry" you said and closed the door.
Your heart stopped as the flood of a suppressed memory came to the forefront of your mind. You were in the car with one of your mom's boyfriends. You were about 4 or 5 when he offered to let you steer the car. Obviously you wanted to. You were just a child. But that's when he said you need to do something for him. You agreed not knowing what he wanted. He unbuckle his belt and pulled out his penis. You didn't know what that was then. He pushed your head down to meet your lips to the head. You remembered resisting but he was stronger than you. It was just a kiss. You thank God now that it was just a kiss. How could guys do that shit to children?
You started having a panick attack. You finally found the bathroom and locked yourself in there. You poured cold water on your face with shaking hands. You started to count. A coping mechanism you learned over the years. But the the feeling didn't go away. That when you saw it. A single blade razor. Who ever it was it was now yours for the night. You looked down to your arm pulling up your sleeve. You wanted to feel something else. Anything else. You dug the blade in your upper forearm. Pulling a 2 inch cut. The feeling of release was what you need. A steady stream of blood dropped into the sink. That was the day you started to harm yourself. Sticking to only long sleeves and leggings to cover the scars that riddled over your arms and thighs.
That following Monday Eddie caught up to you at your locker.
" Hey sorry about the other night." Eddies words made you jump. sorry..didn't mean to scare you."
He stepped closer and you moved away.
"Hey y/n. You ok?"
You didn't respond and you just walked away. Why would you talk to him. Or any guys for that matter. They were all monsters.
Eddie tried again all week to talk to you but you were no where to be found. That's when you were hospitalized for attempted suicide. Spending a week in that place was dreadful. But in all honesty you need it. You need for someone to hear you. To help you. And you got the help you need. Rounds of finding the right medicine for your chemical imbalance. Though you felt like a zombie for the next few weeks you finally started to feel better. Talking to a therapist helped but not as much as you needed.
Finally back at school 2 weeks later the word got a out about you. So everyone stared and avoided you. Everyone except Eddie.
" I don't need your sympathy Munson."
" I'm not trying to...I just wanted to see if you want to hang out or something."
" Why?"
" I don't know. I mean I missed you."
Your brows furrowed. "Umm ok?"
" Come to the Hideout. Come watch us perform."
You nodded. But you didn't go. Late that night your brothers were sleeping and your mom was at work. You were watching a movie when you heard a knock on the front door. You answered and Eddie was there.
" Hey you didn't come."
" uh yeah I had to babysit. How did you know where I live?"
" I came over once remember. On your 14th birthday. Your mom invited the whole class."
You didn't remember that. But surprised that Eddie did.
" Can I come in?"
You stood back and let him in. Closing the door. You went to sit on the couch with Eddie joining you. You two watched the rest of the movie without saying a word. It was comfortable. Eddie kept looking over to you. But you didn't notice. It was hot and you pulled up your sleeves a little revealing your scars. Eddie looked at them and was so sad to see that you had hurt yourself.
What happened that was so bad for you to do that he thought. He wanted to ask but he didn't want to make you uncomfortable. So he sat quietly watching you more than the movie.
You guys ended up spending more time together after that. Eddie played with your brothers and though he was rough around the edges your mom like him too. Giving him the nickname mijo. Eddie learned that you were Mexican and you could speak a little Spanish. He should have know that you were with all the food and miss matching dinner ware and the Spanish music that played during your birthday party. But he was so wrapped up in himself he didn't really pay attention to much that was going around him. But you never spoke Spanish neither did your family except your mom. Only when you were upset did you use your first language. He like that about you. It was different than the rest of the people in Hawkins. Sure the town was diverse but he never talked to any of them. He liked how big your family was how full your house always was and how close everyone were. He wanted a big family. Sure with issues of their own but a loving family. Yeah he had his uncle but he wished that he would get a wife and have kids so that he wouldn't be so lonely. That's why he hooked up a lot. Trying to find the right person for him. But I was always just sex. He thought maybe with Chrissy once but she was with Jason. Eddie didn't know that. If he did he would have never pursued her.
But you. You and your family were different. You guys didn't care what the rest of Hawkins thought about him. You guys treated him with respect. Like he was just another one of the family. Eddie wished he got to know you sooner.
On Christmas Eve Eddie was standing in an assembly line helping make tamales. You laughed when your mom helped him put his hair up so none would end up in the masa and made him take off his rings. He looked naked without them. He was so happy and nervous at the same time. He never had so much fun cooking before. Normally his Christmas were lonely and Christmas dinner was a microwave meal with Rudolph the red nosed reindeer playing in the background. The amount of presents under the beautiful Christmas tree in your living room was like something out of the movies.
Eddie was overwhelmed by the amount of gifts he got from your family. He never opened this many gifts in his life. The best gift came from you. You got him a cool looking mood ring. It looked totally metal. It fit perfectly on his ring finger. He felt bad that he didn't get you anything. He wanted to but he wasn't flushed with cash. But you didn't care. You didn't really care for Christmas. Eddie got up to give you a hug but you tensed up at his embrace. He noticed right away and pulled away.
...
It was New years when you were at the Munson's. Eddie's uncle wasn't home. That's when you told him about what happened when you were little. You cried and Eddie wanted to hold you but he knew that you didn't like to be touched. How could anyone hurt someone as sweet as you? That's why you were overweight. He didn't mind it but he knew you hated it.
" Is that why you cut yourself?"
You nodded and told him about that night you saw him.
Eddie started to cry when you said that. He had no idea you were hurting so bad. You were broken and he wanted to fix you. But how could he. He didn't know what to do or what to say. So he was just gonna be there. Whenever you need him he would always be there. He swore to himself that he would never hurt you.

Party! [Eddie Munson]
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x Hispanic/Latina chubby reader
Part 1 | Part 2
Eddie met you at a record store while bumping in to you and he fell in love. He asked you out and you invited him to your little brother's birthday. He thought it would be a small and simple party. But boy was he wrong.
Request are open :D
Tumblr media
He met you at the record store. You were busy buying your cassette when Eddie bumped into you.
"Oh shit, sorry." He says as he looks behind him and he sees you. He was breathless. He knew he fell in love with you when he saw you.
"Oh, it's fine. I didn't see either." You say while smiling at him. "Wait, your shirt is actually really cool." You say as you pointed at his Hellfire club shirt. "Is it like a band you are in or…?"
"O-Oh! No! It's a club! We just play a game called DND." He says as he feels his heart beating.
"Dragons and dungeons, right?" You say and he nods. "How do you know?" Eddie asks. You didn't seem like the type that would play a game like that. "Oh, one of my brothers loves that game and plays it with his friends." You say and Eddie nods. He looked at the cassette you got and didn't understand the words on it.
You looked at what he was eyeing and you smiled, "Devuelveme a mi chica by Hombres G." You say as you hold it towards him. "I honestly was surprised to see it here. I've been looking for it everywhere back where I used to live and I finally found it here." You say and Eddie holds his hand out. You hand it to him and he looks at the cover.
"Did you just move to Hawkins?" He asks for and hands it back to you. "I've been here 6 months now, so you could say yes." You say. "But my family has lived here for 4 years. I dropped out of college so im here with my family." You say.
"Wanna go out?" Eddie says feeling his whole body shake. His hands were sweating now. You gave him a puzzled look, he just said that out of nowhere, and then smiled. "Sure!" You say and then look through your bag. You get a pen and paper out and write on it. You hand it to Eddie and say, "My family is having a party for my little brother's birthday." Eddie holds it with amazement. He actually got to ask a girl out and he was invited to a party.
"I-I can go! Y-Yup! I can go!" He says and stuffs the paper in his back pocket. "Um, so, like, I just go?"
"You can come whenever you want. Or come at the party hour, which is at 5." You say. "By the way, I'm [Name] [Last]." You say. "Eddie Munson." He said and you smiled. "Well, I'll see you later, Munson."
He swore he just came in his pants when you said his last name.
Eddie just nods and he sees you leave with your new cassette tape. Was he excited to go to the party? I mean, it's a small party right?
Boy was he wrong lol
When he knocked at the door, he was welcomed by blasting Spanish music, kids running around while some cried, drunk uncles, and aunts talking their chisme(as you call it). And when you took him to the backyard, he was more amazed. Bouncy house! Holy shit!
How is there such a huge party for only one little kid?
And your parents thought he was weird because how he dressed
But soon your mom got well with him when she started to teach him to dance.
Eddie didn't know how to dance, like at all. He was confused till your mom told him to move to the beats and how to move.
You giggled and clapped as he came back tired from dancing. He drank soda and sat down only for your mom to yell, "¡Eddie! ¡Vente paca!" He just groans and goes to dance with your mom.
Your dad was alright with him. He still thought he was weird for liking hard metal and just the way he dressed. He just preferred for his daughter to date a Mexican rather than an American… but it's all up to you.
"Yo nomas digo mija. Los gringos son muy raros, y más el."
"Papá, él no es raro."
"Nomas te digo mija."
You explained to your dear father that you just met Eddie and that you two were just meeting each other.
Your Tio's loved him! After your mom was finally done dancing, your uncles invited him to drink and then they gave him a talk about never giving up on school and the choices in life matter and all that shit(I swear to god uncles suddenly become counselors when they are drunk).
Your little siblings actually liked Eddie because they thought he was cool! They would tell him to play along with him and when they invited you and him to the bouncy house, you two would make it fall to the side on purpose and would laugh at the crying kids. Let's just say you two got scolded by your mom.
When you handed him the plate of the carne asada and he took a bite out of it, bro, the flavors were just amazing. He had a nopal to the side with arroz rojo and a couple of tortillas. Bro, he was in love with the food. And when he got some chile, he thought he was going to die from the heat. The good thing about the salsa was that it had TASTE and SPICE on it! Not just spice!
Soon, it was late. The music was low as your uncles and aunts still talked while some kids slept in chairs(poor kids) and some were still jumping in the bouncy house.
"Eddie, wanna go in?"
"Sure, let me just get up. My feet hurt like a bitch." You giggled and got up. You helped him and took him inside. The house was much quieter. "Let's go to my room!" You say and run up the stairs. Eddie sighs. His feet were hurting, but anything for you because he absolutely adores you.
Once you two got to your room, he smiled as he saw how organized your room was. You pat down on the bed and he sits down. You sat down next to him and soon you two talked.
"I'm sorry about my mom by the way."
"No! Don't be! I actually had so much fun."
"You'll be sore tomorrow for sure." You say and Eddie groans. "I mean, it was worth it." You giggled and Eddie smiled. "You're so cute, I swear." You say as you put your hand on his thigh. Eddie was screaming and doing flips inside his head.
"Oh really? I'm cute?" He says as he gets closer.
"Yes, you are." You say. "Hmmm, I think you are the cute one wearing your cute dress." He says and you giggled. "Why thank you. I specifically wore this in hopes of you liking it." Eddie nods and puts his hand on your cheek. He rubs your cheek with his thumb and soon moves to your lips. You looked at him and he was looking at your lips. "You also did your makeup really cute."
"[NAME]! EDDIE! TIME FOR CAKE-" you pushed Eddie away as you heard your brother open the door.
Your brother had a smug smirk on his face and yelled, "OH!!! I'M TELLING PAPA!"
"¡NO! ¡TE JURÓ QUE TO VOY A MATAR ALEJANDO!" He just walks away while giggling.
You covered your face with your hands, embarrassed that your brother caught you almost kissing.
Eddie just giggles because he was almost about to kiss a pretty girl. 'Heheh pretty girl almost kissed me'
Eddie was horrified when he saw almost everyone push the poor 6 year olds face down the cake. But everyone was laughing so he just sat there like 🧍‍♂️
But you grabbed a piece of cake and smeared it on his face and it made him laugh.
"That's enough cake [Name]." One of your aunts says. "Mija, it's for your own good." Your other aunt joins in. You rolled your eyes at them as they gasped. "Teach her some manners!" Your aunt tells your mom. Your mom pretended she didn't listen while passing around cake
Eddie was pissed at how your aunts treated you. They asked you and Eddie to sit at their table and he saw you weren't enjoying the conversation.
He saw that they mostly talked about your weight and how a boy would never want you as a wife.
"You are just overweight. And it's bad for you and for your boyfriend here." Your aunt says. " He probably feels embarrassed that you look like this." She whispered but he heard it clearly.
Eddie stands up and says, "Excuse us but me and [Name] are going. Clearly you two have not looked at a mirror. Also, I very much like her like she is." He says as he holds your arm. "And what if I like a little extra meat? I'm not embarrassed about it." And pulls you out of your annoying aunts, who were left speechless.
Eddie got a small scolding from your mom but she thanked him after. "I don't usually say anything in hopes of not arguing with my sisters, but thank you. Just next time, don't be rude."
You were just speechless and in love with Eddie. You knew you fell for this man when he said all of that.
The party soon ended and Eddie had to go. "Thank you for coming over. Again, sorry about my aunts and dad."
"No, it's alright. I actually had a shit ton of fun." He says as he leans on the door. "I'm just going to suffer tomorrow and probably have cramps." He says and you giggled. "You are always welcomed here." You say and kiss his cheek. "Also, next time, let's go somewhere just for us. Yeah?"
"Y-Yeah!" You giggled and said good night to Eddie.
The next day, he told everyone in the club what he did yesterday and Dustin was so amazed. He wanted to meet you one day. Eddie said one day and he himself couldn't wait to see you soon.
He was in so much pain whenever he walked. Poor thing.
He took some food with him and cake on a plate too cuz your mom begged him.
Tumblr media
This will probably be headcanons and chapters cuz I can't decide lol

LIKE IMAGINE HER FAMILY JUST BEING LIKE “ay estos dos van a terminar casados” y se ponen en plan tipo “que empalagosos son” HSKKSKSKS sorry for the Spanglish, sometimes my brain doesn’t work properly
Ily too!!😩💓I think we all need to thank the first anon who requested a Hispanic/latina/Mexican reader. I would’ve never thought many people would read it. I hope you enjoy it :).
Au in which Eddie survived
Bachata Rosa
Eddie Munson x Hispanic! gn! Reader
Eddie couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the way your body moves to the rhythm of the music that is playing from your small radio. He could stare at you for hours just watching you, he’s positive that if he were to try it he’d end up making a fool out of himself. Although you wouldn’t tell him that, instead you’d praise him saying ‘good job babe, you’re getting better’ or ‘you’ll soon be better than me’.
He sat on a chair that was placed in front of your garage as you and your cousins practiced dancing for you aunt’s wedding. It wasn’t that you needed to practice dancing it was more of an excuse to hang out and get to know him better.
“Eddie, are you a good dancer?” Your cousin, Cassandra asked.
He was so fixated on you that he didn’t notice the music had stopped. “Do I, w-what?” He stuttered as specks of pink found their way on his face.
It was followed by a chorus of ‘ooh’s as some of your cousins elbowed each other. You stood near the cooler filled with ice and drinks with a blush splattered across your own cheeks. It wasn’t hard for anyone to understand why Eddie didn’t pay attention. You will be getting teased for it endlessly.
“I asked if you were a good dancer.” She said with a small laugh.
“Oh no I uh… I don’t dance.” He answered truthfully as he fidgeted with his fingers.
Gasps were heard which made him feel out of place. He loves music, that much is clear but it isn’t one to dance to. It’s not that he doesn’t want to learn, he just never got the chance.
“Y/n, i can’t believe you never taught your boyfriend to dance.” Your younger cousin exclaimed.
“The opportunity just never came up, I didn’t want to force it on him.” It was true, whenever your favorite song played through your Walkman all you could think about was dancing to it with Eddie. Yet you always kept those thoughts to yourself, Eddie isn’t one to do cliché things. Yet it doesn’t bother you, there isn’t anything about him that you would change. Not even when you had to ask him out to prom back in your senior year of high school. He was reluctant at first but gave in after a while, even then, he didn’t fully danced. Simply moved his arms to the rhythm and attempted to get his feet to follow yours.
Luckily, nobody added more to the conversation. Instead you talked about what outfit to wear for the wedding and when will you guys arrive. You were now sitting next to Eddie as he played with your hair you tried to pay attention to the conversation. But the more he played with your hair, the more sleepy you got. It was late afternoon and the sunset painted pretty colors on the sky. Signaling the end of the day and a reminder that everyone will leave to their own houses.
It was now nine and Eddie was the last person that had to leave. The two of you were now sitting on the small green couch that was placed in your living room. The rest of your family was either in their rooms or in the kitchen, allowing the two of you privacy to talk about anything and nothing at the same time.
A comfortable silence accompanied you both until Eddie spoke up. “You know you could uh, teach me some of those dance moves you were doing earlier.”
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion before answering, “Ed, we don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
“No I- I want to. Wouldn’t want you to not have a dancing partner during the wedding.” He replied with a toothy grin as he leaned towards you as he spoke.
“Well, the wedding is in two weeks. I could teach you the basics…if you want.” You said as you looked into his eyes that held so much joy.
“Alright, tomorrow me and you baby. We’ll get grooving.” He said as he stood up.
“Nobody says that anymore Ed.” You laughed as you also stood up.
“Sure they do. Ok tomorrow, after practice, I’ll come down and you could uh teach me… the basics.” He was now standing next to the doorway with his left hand holding the door knob.
“I’ll be waiting.” You said with a smile. He also gave you one as well while opening the door. He got out and turned to look back at you, neither one moved. Just wanting to spend as much time together as you could. Despite that, he leaned down to give your cheek a kiss.
“Goodnight sweetheart.”
“Goodnight Eddie.”
Practice was running longer than usual and it was all because of a certain curly headed who kept on getting distracted and wouldn’t hit the notes at the right time.
“Dude come on Eddie, this the third time that we have to start all over.” Gareth exclaimed as he hit his drumsticks together to show his annoyance. “If we keep this up I’ll be late for dinner, and you don’t want to see my mom angry.”
If it were any other day he wouldn’t want to mess with the master of dungeons. But today was a normal day and he didn’t have to worry about it.
“Sorry, guys sorry it’s just…ugh I’m so excited. I’m going over to y/n’s house and they’ll teach me some dance moves for their aunts weddings. I’ve never danced with anyone… I feel, ecstatic.”
After hearing his confession they all felt their scowls leave their face.
“Wait, I thought you said you danced with them back at prom…?” Jeff asked
“No… well I mean yeah. Sorta. It was more of me moving my arms…” he said as he moved them for emphasis. “…and I tried to move to the rhythm but most of the time I just stood by watching them have fun.” He couldn’t help but sigh, at the end of the party you told him it was fun yet he felt as if you were lying. It didn’t make sense how you could say you had fun with him if he didn’t dance with you, not the way you deserved at least.
“So are you just going to…keep them waiting?” The other band mate asked.
Shit, he didn’t think about it that way. What if you thought he forgot? Or that he chickened out? You knew by now about just short attentions spasm and you always were very understanding of it but what if now it’ll be different? What if you want to break-
“Go to them Eddie, we can practice another day.” Jeff spoke once more.
Without needing to hear anything else Eddie took off running to his van. He was in such a rush that he didn’t notice his guitar still attached to him. Carefully, he lifted it up and set in on the back of the van. It was his most prized possession and he didn’t want any scratches on it. He drove a little past the speed limit (he didn’t want to get in a car crash or for you to see him driving this fast and scold him for it). It wasn’t until he reached your neighborhood that he saw you open the garage that he let out a sigh of relief and slowed down the van.
“Sorry sweetheart, I would’ve came sooner but… practice ran longer than usual.” He jogged towards you to help you lift up the garage door.
“Don’t worry Eddie, I was helping my mom around the house. My brothers didn’t bother helping so we finished not so long ago.” You responded with a shrug of your shoulders as you set down the radio on the small table that was taking up space near the wall.
“You ready?” You asked as you stood next to him.
“Yeah, let’s do it.” He exclaimed with a fist in the air. Even if he attempted to sound confident, his body language told you otherwise. He kept on bouncing his leg and chewing on his lip.
“Eddie I don’t want you to feel like… I’m forcing this on you, if you don’t want-.” You started speaking as you went to stand in front of him and place a hand on his shoulder. Something that you often did when he was nervous.
“No, no no I want to. I really do… I-I want to learn more about your culture.” He spoke with sincerity as he clasped his hands on your face.
Smiling, you looked up at him as you placed your own hands on top of his. “Ok then, let’s do it.” You took a step back and turned on your radio, landing on Juan Luis Guerra’s new song, Bachata Rosa.
As the two of you spend the day dancing and laughing, Eddie felt as if he was falling for you all over again. He tried to focus but each time you looked at him with so much affection he just got lost in your eyes. Causing him to stumble or step on you.
Days passed by and there was one day left for the wedding. You were proud to admit that you were a pretty good dance teacher. It was hard at first, but Eddie no longer needed you to tell him what to do. He still makes jokes about how sexual the dance is and the way you move against him. You can still hear his voice “Jesus H. Christ babe, I’m trying to dance not…mate with you.” Hearing him say those words caused you to turn red and miss a couple of steps.
“Is Eddie ready for the wedding?” It was the first thing your mom had asked you as you woke up.
“Yeah, he got the steps down.” You said as you walked up to her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
“How do you think your dad will react?” She asked as she handed you a plate for you to serve yourself some chilaquiles.
The question caught you off guard, that you didnt think of. “He’ll probably get really mad.” You chuckled softly, “let’s hope he’s drunk when and if he decides to dance in front of everyone.”
The conversation changed shortly after but your mind kept on playing different scenarios in your head. Regarding your family’s reaction, especially your dad’s and brother’s.
It was now the day of the wedding, everything was perfect. Eddie was able to go to the church ceremony earlier that day. You could tell he felt a little out of place, it was his first time going to a proper one. But you stayed by his side and held his hand, it helped to calm him down although he could still feel your dad glaring holes on his head.
The venue was spacious, a clear sign that there will be a lot of guests. Your mom was the one who chose the table, claiming that she wanted one with the best centerpiece. One that either you or your siblings will be forced to take.
As family members came to the venue, you would all get up and greet them. Using this as an opportunity to introduce Eddie to them. Your younger cousins seem to love him, they thought his clothing was cool as well as his tattoos. Whatever worries Eddie had prior to this seemed to have vanished into thin air. The food was fantastic and the music was great as well.
The DJ played some songs in Spanish and English, allowing everyone the opportunity to dance. Eddie even got dragged by some of your aunts to dance with them, some danced English songs while others did merengue. It wasn’t until bachata started playing that all of the couples got up and walked over to the dance floor.
“May I have this dance?.” Eddie spoke as he held out his hand for you to take. He had a toothy grin on his face and you just knew he was excited to show everyone the dance moves you taught him weeks prior.
You took his hand and walked over to the dance floor. The two of you started to dance at arms length before gradually getting closer. As the two of you moved to the rhythm it felt as if the whole world had disappeared. The both of you attempted to not get too close, not wanting to make any family members uncomfortable. After giving you a few spins he pulled you once more closer to him to place a chaste kiss on your cheek.
“You’ll have to translate me the song later and…teach me a new dance.” He spoke softly against your ear.
“If you keep this up, you’ll be the future chambelán for Sara’s quinceañera.” You told him with a giggle.
“Lisa hasn’t thrown the bouquet yet but we already know who will be getting married next. Right Enrique?” Your aunt exclaimed happily to your dad.
“No, they’re never getting married.” He replied while chugging the rest of his beer.
“Ojalá se casen pronto, uno nunca sabe cuándo será mi ultimo día.” Your grandma spoke as she watched you on the dance floor.
“¡Mamá, no diga eso!” Your dad said but aside from his voice sounding mad, he pulled her to a side hug. As much as he pretended to hate the idea of you forming your own family. His heart swelled with joy as he saw how happy Eddie made you.

“You’re gonna do great y/n!” you took a breath at Steve's words. “I’m terrified, what if he knows the song’s about him!” you panicked and paced around behind the stage, waiting to be called up. “If anyone in our group can't figure out who this is about, I doubt he’s gonna know y/n.” you nodded at steve. Watching as the band finished answering the question they had been asked.
“You’re right, I'm just nervous!” you froze as the band before you walked next to you, they waited to hear you sing. “You guys did great!” you smiled at eddie, their leader and also your’s and max’s neighbor. “Uh thanks, good luck to you.” You thanked Eddie and got your mic from one of the event coordinators. “Next up, some of you folks might recognize her as your child’s babysitter, but tonight she’s a new star, ms. y/n y/l/n!” you smiled and walked up the steps and walked to the middle of the stage.
You could hear your family and friend’s cheering loudly from the crowd. You smiled and got ready. You took a deep breath as the backtrack played.
“Cada día es igual por mi pasillo”
Every day is the same down the corridor
Everyday had been the same since your family moved into the trailer park. You’d get off work and you’d have to walk home, “508, 509, 510,-“ You counted as you passed by but as soon as you had reached trailer 511 the door suddenly swung forward and you were greeted by both a whistle from your neighbor. “Y/n, baby, i’ve been waiting for you to go on a date with me like you promised!” you rolled your eyes at the drunk hick. “I could show you around the town. I know all the good spots, ever heard of skull rock?”
You scoffed as he looked at you up and down. You went to make your way past him. “You could take a shower! You stink worse than a pig! And I didn't promise you anything.” You scoffed at the man. “I could sneak you into the bar, I'll pay for any drinks you want.” you stared at the pleading man in front of you. “Listen, I told you a bunch of times! I don’t want to go on these stupid dates with a man who’s old enough to be my uncle!” You rejected the man for the millionth time. As you finished speaking, the trailer door behind you opened.
Out stepped a long haired guy around your age or a bit older. He wore a white and black baseball tee with a drawing of a demon? On the front, he wore a leather jacket with a denim vest that had band pins on it.
You could see a bandana poking out the back of his jeans. He looked between you and your neighbor, You were able to get a good look at his face as he walked closer to you both. He had deep brown eyes that you could look at for years. And perfect kissable lips. He was attractive, like VERY VERY attractive. You watched, stunned as he walked by you both and down the roads.
“Oh shit!” you thought to yourself and tore your gaze away from his face, he must’ve thought you were a creep for staring at him for so long. He walked right by you both and right down the road to the little picnic table area. You had stayed stunned for a few minutes before turning to the man in front of you with a flushed expression, you had felt red all over, dumbfounded. Before your neighbor said to you, you quickly ran into your family’s trailer.
Once inside, you leaned against the door. A happy, flustered grin on your face as you thought about your neighbor next door.
You felt your heartbeat racing, your chest felt tight and constricted.
You ran to the kitchen and grabbed water from the fridge, hoping it would help calm your heart rate down, but it hadn’t stopped the butterflies in your stomach, fluttering around in there. It might’ve sounded crazy but you were sure you had met the man of your dreams.
Ever since that day you made sure to take your time walking down the road from work, in hopes to see him again. You had gone as far as to faking your interest in the hick next door to you, in hopes of seeing him walk out of his trailer again.
You smiled, gaining a bit more confidence. You kept looking over to see The Corroded coffin members tapping their feet to the beat. You giggled and turned to the crowd and continued.
“El chico del apartamento 512. Él que hace a mi pobre corazón saltar”
The boy from apartment 512. The one who makes my poor heart beat fast.
You sighed as you walked toward Hawkins high doors. Dustin had told you earlier that day to meet him outside his locker. You groaned when he first told you at lunch, not wanting to be at school when you didn’t have to. As you opened up the door you heard someone yelling. “Wait! Hold the door please!” you turned and held open the school door for the person.
You felt your heartbeat go faster as you heard loud footsteps behind you, you turned to see the guy from next door, carrying boxes in. “Thanks!” He gave you a small smile behind the boxes. You had noticed he was wearing a metallica shirt today instead of his usual club shirt with his leather jacket and denim vest on top. ‘He’s the most beautiful man I've ever met!’ You thought to yourself as you looked into his deep brown eyes.
“It’s no problem!” you smiled back. “Do you need help with those?” you asked, eddie nodded at your question and let you grab the box on top. You both walked to his clubroom in silence. “You can just set that down with this one! Thanks for your help again.” he smiled at you. “No problem!” You smiled and walked away from him. Once you turned the corner you let out a sigh you had been holding, the butterflies were fluttering all around as you thought about your latest encounter with the guy next door.
“El chico del apartamento 512. Es él quien me hace tartamuda y más”
The boy from apartment 512. Who causes me to stutter and more.
You sighed as you watched another girl enter the store with her boyfriend to look for a movie to watch together. You went back to watching whatever robin had put on the store’s tv.
“How may I help you today?” you asked the customer, your heart rate going up at you looked up and saw the familiar face of the cute guy next door.
“I’d like to rent this!” he told you as he placed down nightmare on elm street. You smiled and nodded as you picked the vhs and walked to the computer on the side of the countertop “I um, need your uh, name..” you trailed off as you got ready to type it in. “It’s Eddie, Eddie munson!” you smiled wider as you typed his name into the system.
“Alright, you’re all set to go!” he smiled as you handed him the vhs back. “Thanks..y/n!” you felt the butterflies start fluttering as he said your name. He grabbed the vhs and walked out of the family video store. Keith had never witnessed you flustered. He sure wasn’t gonna let you live it down either. A huge part of you wanted to keep talking to Eddie but you had no clue about what.
You smiled as you swayed along to the beat of the song. You had noticed out of the corner of your eye, Eddie was leaning against a member of his band and watched you dance on the stage as you sang.
“Es a quien le hago cartas noche y día, Que no puedo entregar. El chico del apartamento 512”
It’s whom I write letters to, day and night. That I can not deliver. The guy from apartment 512.
You shrugged off the winter coat you had on as you entered your bedroom. You walked over to your desk and sighed at the pile of letters you had written about your love for Eddie, you wanted to deliver but never had the guts to do so. You sat down on your chair and pulled out more paper and got started writing another letter.
“What are these?” Max asked as she entered your small room, pointing to the pile of letters on your desk. “Those are nothing!” you jumped in front of the pile and laid on top of them. “Y/n.” you sighed at her. “Fine, there letters to a guy I happen to like..” you explained to her.
“Why are they still here then?” you avoided her gaze. “Because I've never actually given him any of them!” you quickly said. “THERE ABOUT EDDIE!” Max yelled as she stared at the unfolded letter you had on your desk. “MAX!” you quickly ripped the paper oof the desk and held it to your chest. “You like eddie? The freak next door eddie?” you nodded slowly at her question, slowly sinking to the floor. “Why don’t you give him a letter? I’m sure he’s not a ladies man like Steve or Billy was.” she asked, sitting next to you on the floor.
“I don’t know?! I’m scared of him rejecting me I guess..” you looked over at the girl. “So what if he rejects you!?” she looked at you with wide eyes. “If he does reject me, i have to see him next door, you know how embarrassing that would be going outdoors and seeing the weirdo girl who had a crush on you!” you ranted to her.
Max sighs at you. “You never know y/n, maybe he feels the same way. What would you do if another pretty girl came rolling up here to hit on Eddie and he agreed to date her? Would you live with your what ifs?” you thought about it for a minute before shooting up. “Max, your a genius!” you smiled and pulled out a notebook from under your bed. And got to writing.
“She’s pretty good!” Gareth told Eddie in his ear as they all watched you perform. Along with steve. “She’s great!” Eddie's eyes flickered towards steve and eyed him, he who he was suspecting the song was about.
“Pero hoy por fin me he decidido de confersarle todo mi amour”
But today I have finally decided to confess all my love.
You had mentally prepared yourself to talk to Eddie whenever you would see him again. Fate was unkind to you and it had been about a week since you promised to yourself next time you would see him you would confess your love.
You decided it was time to take your fate into your own palms and go up to his door. You let out a deep breath as you walked up the steps to his trailer, you took in a deep breath as you knocked onto the screen door. You felt your body gain goosebumps as you knocked.
“Una güera contesta la puerta, Y mi corazón se quiebra”
A blonde answers the door, and my heart breaks.
You prepared to say the whole letter you had written that day just to confess to him. You felt the butterflies in your stomach, drop as a strawberry blonde girl opened the door, you recognized the girl to be Chrissy Cunningham, the “queen of hawkins high” you sighed as she smiled at you.
“De veras que sentí mi corazón quebrandose, Cuando de repente ella preguntó...¿Buscabas a mi hermano?”
I really felt my heart breaking, when suddenly she asked…”Were you looking for my brother?
“Are you looking for eddie? He’s at the town’s festival, practicing for tonight! I work for the band, I'm their runner!” she told you, holding up a box of eddie’s extra guitar picks. You smiled at her. “Are you eddie’s girlfriend?” she made a face of disgust. “Oh god no, He’s like a brother to me!” she explained. “Are you going to the festival tonight?” she asked, as she walked out of the trailer and towards her car.
“Yeah, i’m gonna perform a song I wrote!” she smiled wider at your words. “You better get to the practice rehearsal! Need a ride?” you smiled back at her and shook your head.
“No, thank you though!” you smiled at the girl, butterflies in your stomach started fluttering again at the realization you still had a chance with the song you wrote.
“El chico del apartamento 512!”
The guy from apartment 512
You smiled widely and continued to sing. Off the stage you hadn’t noticed Steve's wide grin as he overheard Eddie's friend's conversation. “Isn’t she Eddie's neighbor too?” Eddie was entranced by you; he didn't pay attention to his friends talking.
Once the song was finished, everyone clapped for your performance. “Thank you!” You waved to Nancy and the others in the crowd. You smiled and walked off the stage, where you were greeted by a wide grinning steve. “What?” you asked him, taking the water bottle from his hands. “It’s about Eddie isn’t it?” your eyes widened as Steve nudged you. “Shut up! Maybe…” you smirked at him.
“Talk to him y/n!” he nudged you over to eddie, where you stumbled into him. “I’m so sorry! My friend just pushed me!” you apologized to eddie, who stared at you in awe. “Steve is your friend?” you nodded at his question. “Well that makes me feel dumb..” he muttered to himself. You tilted your head.
“I thought you and him were a thing and the song was about him. If you don’t mind me asking, who is it about then?” You sucked in a breath at his question. “The song is actually about you, eddie. I wrote the song about my feelings for you..” he stayed silent for a minute before looking at you shocked.
“It’s about me! You like me?!” he smiled at you, you smiled back and nodded. “Would you like to go on a date with me, sometime then?” you smiled wider at his question. “I’d love too, I live next door to you if you need my address to pick me up!” he smiled at your words.
You and Eddie spent most of the festival together, eating the unhealthy fried stuff and watching other people/bands perform. Overall you had a great night.
“Um, goodnight y/n.” Eddie told you as he walked you back to your trailer. “Night guy from trailer 512!” you both chuckled and went into your separate trailer’s excited for the upcoming date you both had planned at the festival.

Lately, you were all Eddie could think about.
Thought I saw your shadow under the door
It was almost like you were invading every single nook and crevice of his mind
Your beautiful eyes.
Every breathtaking detail of your face.
The slope of your nose, the bump just at the bridge of it. The apples of your cheeks. Especially all the little imperfections of your skin. He would kiss every one of them, if you’d let him. Your lips. The softness of your jawline. It all drove him crazy.
YOU drove him crazy.
“Eddie!” You laughed as he nuzzled his nose against the skin of your neck. Playfully blowing a raspberry into the sensitive skin before you pushed him away with a scoff, cheeks red, eyes wide.
“Did you just-?” You were speechless. “I’m not a baby.”
“Oh but that’s where you’re wrong- RAHHH!” He growled like a troll and tackled you down to the bed. “You’re my baby.” He erratically kissed all over your face. “My princess!” He roared once more. “And bridge trolls’ favorite food is princess!” He added faux chomping noises to the chaos.
“No! No! Please, Mr. Bridge Troll! Don’t eat me!” You played along, asking for mercy.
Pulling away, he was now hovering over you. Hair creating a partition between the both of you and the outside world. “And what would the princess like to offer for her freedom?”
Just a trick of the light I've seen before
“Hmmm.” You pretended to think before gently pushing him aside, watching as he bounced onto his mattress. “I owe you nothing!” You laughed before running out of his bedroom door and into the hallway, the bathroom door slamming shut.
With a gasp, Eddie’s eyes snapped open.
I can never tell what's real anymore
Anymore, anymore
“For fuck’s sake.” He sighed, running his hands over his tired face. Fingers rubbing his eyelids when an electronic ‘beep beep beep’ had caught his attention.
Bringing his wrist up to his bleary eyes, they widened. Suddenly wide awake.
12pm
“Ahh shit. I almost forgot.” He quickly slipped on his sneakers, grabbed his backpack and ran out of his room, swiping his keys off the hallway table and rushing out the door.
As he drove, he smiled at the sight of the empty cassette case resting on his dashboard.
‘For Eddie the Banished, from (Y/n) the cunning.’ Written on the spine, accompanied with a few doodles of a flaming sword, a D20, a brewing cauldron, and other bits and pieces. It was a reference to both of yours’ D&D characters. You had given it to him earlier that summer.
“Come on, grumpy. It’s not that bad.” You nudged his shoulder, taking a hit of the joint between your fingers.
“I flunked my senior year, completely tanked it, and you’re telling me-” He cleared his throat. “It’s not that bad.” He mimicked your tone, you passed him the blunt. “People already think I’m a freak. This just gives them another reason to kick me around. I’m a freak and an idiot.”
“Hey, don’t say that.” You turned on your ‘stern’ voice. “You, Edward Munson, are not an idiot. Just because you flunked doesn’t mean you aren’t smart.”
“Are you serious right now? That’s literally why I flunked.”
“Eddie. You are a whiz at quick math. I’ve seen you tally up a dice roll and ability scores in milliseconds. You’ve read the Lord of the Rings book hundreds of times, you’ve come up with four hour long campaigns in just under thirty minutes. You have an amazing mind. Turning in a couple late assignments and not being a great test taker doesn’t determine your worth.”
You were too busy gazing out at the sunset but Eddie’s eyes were fixated on you. His jaw was basically on the floor. Tears pricking at his eyes.
You reached into your jacket pocket, at the sudden movement, he snapped his head away from you. “Here. Maybe this’ll make you feel better.” You held out the cassette tape. “Gareth helped me put it together.” He couldn’t tell because of the low-light but your face was burning red.
Wordlessly, he took the tape and admired all the personal touches.
Shaking the memory, he turned into the familiar parking lot. As he turned the volume down, he caught sight of you through the window.
You had a smile stretched out over your lips, the one that plagued his brain, as you spoke with a customer. The canary yellow accents on your white work uniform made your beautifully tan skin pop. He remembered how you complained about your melanin issues.
“I don’t get it Eds! I’m pale in the winter and the second summer starts, poof! Tan!”
“And that’s a bad thing, why?”
“Because I stick out more. I get more girls asking me about where I get my spray tan and making a joke about the fires of hell.”
But he thought you looked beautiful. Winter pale or summer tan.
Honking twice, he waited until you looked out the window. Once again, that damn smile graced his eyes.
Stomach fluttering as Eddie smiled back at you, you bit your bottom lip. Holding up your finger. ‘One minute.’ You mouthed.
“Okay Mae, I’m clocking out!”
You didn’t wait for a response, running to the back and punching out. Tossing your apron into the locker and slinging your backpack over your shoulder. Your heart was fluttering with nerves and excitement.
Steve was having a small get together at his place and he had invited you and Eddie. It sounded like fun but Eddie hadn’t seen you in a bathing suit since you were 8 and he was 9 and Wayne bought the two of you a kiddie pool and seeing as you didn’t have a properly fitting bathing suit, Robin and Nancy had accompanied you to the mall to find one.
It was a two piece.
You had never in your life worn a two piece.
They mortified you to no end. No, the one you bought wasn’t a bikini. The bottoms were high waisted and the top was almost like a sports bra but still. There was a significant amount of skin exposed.
And you and Eddie were older now.
I remember when we ran from the pool
As you changed in Steve’s bathroom, you were starting to regret buying this monstrosity advertised as swimwear.
There was a bulge where the fabric stretched over your lower tummy, a little bit of fat was peeking from the part near your armpits, your stretch marks were on full display, and your hip-dips were less than ideal.
A soft knock on the door pulled you from your own scrutinizing gaze.
“Everything alright?” Robin called softly.
“Y-Yeah. Everything’s good.” You called back, unlocking the door.
Upon opening it, you held your folded up diner uniform to cover up your midsection. “Might as well get this over with, right?”
Slightly concerned, Eddie waited anxiously in the pool. He had put his hair in a low bun, a few strands of hair framing his face.
“Come on, Eddie!” Dustin smacked his bare back with a pool noodle. “Grab a noodle.”
“Henderson just give me a sec, I’m waiting for-” Eddie choked on his spit. You placed your work uniform into your backpack.
“Whao!” Max shouted in awe from a lounge chair across the pool. El at her side, eyes wide.
You were a vision in white.
This definitely wasn’t the unicorn one-piece he was expecting but he definitely wasn’t complaining about it. His eyes trailed over your body in nothing but admiration. Raking over the tattoo you got on a drunken dare. It was a bat tattoo that matched his but when he caught sight of unfamiliar ink peeking from the waistband of your swimsuit bottoms, his blood turned to ice.
“Hey man, pull it together.” Steve playfully shoved Eddie. “You’re creepin’ her out.”
You were squirming under his burning gaze. “Do I really look that bad?”
“What?! NO!” He cleared his throat. “No, of course not. You-you look freakin’ rad.”
All the decorations up in your room
Maybe it was the whiskey that Steve had stolen from his dad’s liquor cabinet, stealing it once the little rugrats were gone, or the blunt that the two of you shared on the drive back to your place but…Eddie felt like he was on cloud 9.
It had been a while since he had been in your trailer, or your room for that matter.
However, at the moment, he was very intently inspecting your wall. It was covered in band posters and magazine clippings of whatever heartthrob you were obsessed with as a 12 year old.
He was trying not to imagine the scene behind his back.
Like you leaning down to pull your swimsuit bottoms off, pulling the top over your head. Leaning over again to pull on a pair of underwear-shit
“Eddie!” He jumped. “I said I was done.” You laughed, inserting a tape into the VHS player before plopping down on the bed, patting the spot next to you.
Kicking off his shoes, he jumped in next to you. Sitting up against the headboard, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. Humming at his enticing warmth, you snuggled into his side as the familiar theme song of Chavo del Ocho played.
“Sweetheart, what’re we watching?”
“It’s called Chavo del Ocho. It’s basically about a little boy that lives in a poor neighborhood, and gets in trouble with his neighbors all the time. He doesn’t have all the latest toys or anything but he still finds a way to have fun.” You explained. “Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?” You looked up at him to find him already gazing down at you.
“Yeah. Yeah, it does.”
And I couldn't find the right words to use
Flashes of your childhood together made you both smile. Then the realization hit him.
You were his past and present. He so desperately wanted you to be his future.
“Hey, (Y/n)?”
“Yeah?” You whispered, still gazing into his enticingly dark eyes.
Without another word, he pulled you onto him, your knees falling around his waist as you straddled him. He warmly stroked your sides. You slowly gravitated towards him, forehead landing on his.
“Can I-” He swallowed nervously, thumb hooking at the elastic of your sweats. “Can I see your tattoo?” Seeing your face fall a bit, he wanted to beat himself up. Nonetheless, you nodded. He bit his bottom lip, looking down towards where your bodies met, his forehead now resting against your chin.
He tugged the band of your sweats and panties down just enough to see it. Index and middle finger hooked into the fabric to keep it out of his way.
It was a sword stabbed through a D20. He recognized it from a doodle he made in your player guide. The very same one Wayne had given you for your birthday. Mindlessly, he stroked it with his thumb, not missing the way your body jolted at the sudden sensation.
“Eddie…” Your voice came out whinier than you had meant but your need for him in the moment was so overpowering. At the heavenly sound, he looked back up, forehead back on your. Your nose brushed his as you leaned into him.
But I knew that you knew
“I-Can I kiss you?”
“Yes.”
At your confirmation, he surged forward. Hands never leaving your sides. Both your lips were a bit chapped from being in the sun all day but it didn’t matter.
All that mattered was the gentle dance between your lips. No fight for dominance, no lust. Just languid melted kisses.
It seems so long, it seemed so long
It felt like there was no one else in the world.
Eddie had wanted this for so long. So, so long. It was a relief that you did too.
The moments that stay, they turn out all wrong
Memories of times he chickened out, near misses, or cock blocks all melted away. All the times Gareth and Jeff had stressed that the moment would present itself naturally. To not force anything.
He’d never admit it but maybe they were right.
You couldn’t believe it. You were on top of Eddie Munson.
You were kissing Eddie Munson.
Eddie Munson. Your best friend since you were six years old. The boy that gave you butterflies when he complimented you. The boy that wanted you around all the time, even going as far as offering you a spot in Corroded Coffin, saying you could play the triangle for them.
Eddie “The Freak” Munson. The boy that gave you a safe space. Your home from home.
After what felt like an eternity, you both pulled away. Blushes fierce and oxygen levels deathly low.
When I look around, you're gone
That was two weeks ago.
And even though you lived less than a few feet away from him, he could never catch you. You changed your hours at the diner and he had always “just missed you.” at the Family Video store.
Hell, Dustin had seen more of you than Eddie had.
Any time he tried to go over to yours or call, your car was never in the driveway. He never knew how he missed the sound of your car pulling into the gravely path. And when he did see your car in the driveway, your dad’s was always next to it.
He was hurt. No, scratch that. He was heartbroken.
How cruel did you have to be to string him along like that? Very.
And you were anything but cruel. Especially towards him.
All the places that return to
So, on a Saturday afternoon. He headed towards Terry’s diner. He didn’t feel like trying to whip anything up so he’d get something for him and Wayne to eat. He definitely didn’t get his hopes up since you changed your work schedule.
Pulling into a parking spot, he missed the familiar blue muscle car two spaces away from him.
“You can’t just come in here and hang around.” He paused at your giggling voice. “You have to order something.”
“Well how about a chocolate milkshake with a side of you, to go.” Another familiar voice flirted.
He knew that voice.
He hated it with a passion.
As he dared to look up, he was mortified.
All the faces that remind you
You were standing behind the bar counter, coffee pot in hand and a bright smile on your face. The same one that plagued his mind.
Billy was sat on a stool, leaned over the counter, your chin tucked between his forefinger and thumb.
Billy Hargrove.
What the hell.
What the-
Billy leaned in and quickly pecked your lips.
You smiled. Leaning forward and kissing him once more.
He was gonna hurl.
I can still see you at the place out there when I close my eyes
For days, Eddie couldn’t get the image out of his head. He had nightmares about it. So now, instead of seeing you and your intoxicating smile, he saw you kissing Billy.
Over and over and over and over.
He started to overthink everything.
Was it all a lie? He could’ve sworn you felt the same way. Gareth and Jeff constantly poked fun and your longing glances and lingering touches. The pet names and words that you wouldn’t say to a friend. He couldn’t have been the only one that felt the electricity coursing through their veins.
Do you remember when we felt like the only two alive?
He had so many things he wanted to ask. Things to say. There were many nights when he picked up the land line before slamming the receiver back down.
There were times when he had actually input your phone number. The one he knew by heart but when he heard the echoing ring across the way, he couldn’t follow through
Don't let me be one of the people that seek a lost romance
He couldn’t take it anymore.
The one day he had finally let the phone ring all the way but he was met with a busy signal. Picking up the base of the landline, he glanced out the window, your car was in the driveway and he could see you through your kitchen window.
Your landline was mounted to the wall, you had the receiver against one ear, twirling the cord mindlessly with your finger. You looked smitten.
Still listening to the solemn tone of the busy signal, he spoke.
“Please sweetheart, I’ve gotta know. It’s killing me.” He whimpered as tears flowed down his cheeks. Releasing the blinds. “Would you go and do it all over again, given a chance?”
Hours later, an unfamiliar car came through.
Glancing out the window, there it was.
The blue Camaro.
His heart shattered all over again.
