If Hollyleaf survived
Dovewing's Silence:
- Hollyleaf's encounter with Hawkfrost goes mostly the same: She's badly injured and gets dragged to Thunderclan camp by Ivypool. She forgives Squirrelflight and Leafpool, assuming that she's going to die. As she becomes unconscious, Jayfeather refuses to give up on her, working on her wound throughout the night. As her brother is on the verge of fainting, Hollyleaf becomes stable and wakes up after a few days. As a consequence of Jayfeather not being available to check on other patients, Cloudtail dies of an infected wound.
- While recovering, Hollyleaf spends a long time speaking to Leafpool and Squirrelflight. Finally, Hollyleaf asks for her mother's reasoning for keeping her birth secret. Hollyleaf asks if she should publicly admit to the death berry incident, but Leafpool declines. Her mother says a public outrage won't help, citing the Gathering where Hollyleaf revealed the secret. Instead, Leafpool wants them to learn to understand and forgive each other, by slowly building their relationship up. Millie becomes guilt-ridden seeing these interactions and kicks start her own reconciliation with Blossomfall.
- Hollyleaf has a moment with Dovewing. The grey she-cat blurts she worried that she replaced Hollyleaf and her brothers resent her for it. Hollyleaf said she can't speak for her brothers, but Hollyleaf assures she doesn't blame Dovewing and she proved herself unworthy due to her crimes. When Dovewing admits to the three losing their powers, Hollyleaf says it could be better in the long term. The three will no longer be expected to be the main protectors of the Clans and they can settle into a more casual life.
- Ivypool is grateful that Hollyleaf saved her and wants to form a friendship with her. The two she-cats mutually bond over their similar circumstances. Hollyleaf suggests to Ivypool, that not being a part of the prophecy, could be a blessing in disguise. Hollyleaf had witnessed first-hand, the expectations that prophecy cats can put on themselves. The black she-cat wonders if she hadn't mistaken herself as the third cat, for so long, perhaps her fragile ego wouldn't have cracked under Ashfur's influence.
- Hollyleaf encourages all the trainees to redeem themselves, despite how hard it seems. However, since Hollyleaf is being asked to make all these speeches about redemption, it makes her realise she's still got a long way to go. Her nightmares about Ashfur's murder return and she wonders if she needs to go into self-exile again, to continue her atonement. Since she passed on her underground fighting skills, Thunderclan didn't seem to need her so was she staying out of her own selfishness? Jayfeather snaps her out of it: Pointing her out her family wants her here and leaving again, would hurt them more.
Bramblestar's Storm:
-After Jayfeather makes her promise to stay indefinitely, Hollyleaf needs to regain normalcy with her family. In the tunnels, she expected to die young and didn't see a future for herself. While her grand gestures of atonement are important, she needs to consider the everyday too. At first, she can be overly serious and isolate herself. But she learns to open up and have fun around her brothers over time. There are glimpses of a simpler time before it became so messy.
-Hollyleaf reaffirms her connection with Bramblestar. At one point, he pulls his adopted daughter aside. He recalls how her brothers already heard this, but she never got the chance after the tunnel collapsed. He promises his heart will be open to her but he understands if it's too awkward to consider him a father. Either way, he will respect whatever Hollyleaf chooses. The black she-cat snorts, saying she would never choose Crowfeather over him. Bramblestar winces, wondering if it should be obvious.
-Hollyleaf asks why Bramblestar lied about Ashfur accidentally slipping into the stream. He admits he panicked slightly and thought she'd been in self-exile for long enough. Hollyleaf acknowledges how he risked his ranking for her, but she must be judged alone and not use her family connections to gain an advantage. At that point, Hollyleaf's clanmates had figured out Ashfur's death was purposeful. Most cats didn't particularly care after discovering Ashfur's crimes, only judging Hollyleaf for not trusting Firestar to uphold justice.
-Bramblestar asks if Hollyleaf still has her childhood dream of being a leader. He remembered how she followed him as a kit and said she'd become like him. The black she-cat declines, saying she can't trust herself with that power. Hollyleaf feels sorry for her younger self and doesn't grow into the cat she expected to be.
-When Squirrelflight announces she's pregnant, Hollyleaf is overjoyed. After a while, her mother noticed slight doubt on her face. Being told to be honest, Hollyleaf admits she has irrational feelings of being replaced. Squirrelflight ensures her emotions are only natural after the trauma she suffered through. She ensures they can work through them as mother and daughter.
Crowfeather's Trial:
- Hollyleaf would see the similarities between herself and Breezepelt. Additionally, as the one to expose the secret, she feels somewhat responsible for Breezepelt. Therefore, she feels obligated to set the record straight with him. She details how she killed Ashfur to Breezepelt and the two help each other realise where they went wrong. Crowfeather is shocked about Hollyleaf's crimes, feeling even more of a failure of a father.
- When he realises Hollyleaf is already reconciling with Leafpool, he feels pressure to speed things along with Breezpelt. Besides helping Breezepelt's redemption, Hollyleaf feels wrong to have a long-term friendship with him, due to Jayfeather's discomfort. She wishes Breezepelt the best but says it's best to live their separate lives, as they did before the secret's exposure. While this is all going on, Nightcloud refused to speak to Hollyleaf at all, blaming her for telling the secret. After Crowfeather's Trial, Breezepelt would go on, to make serval hypocritical statements: calling Kin defectors and Squirrelflight traitors. Hollyleaf would glare at him in disbelief, wondering how he could be so unaware.
- There's a moment, where Hollyleaf wonders in on Leafpool and Crowfeather speaking at the border. The mother and daughter thinks it's his right to know and Hollyleaf confesses the death berry incident to him. Crowfeather flinches, wondering how he'd feel if Breezepelt tried to kill him directly, instead of his half-siblings. Hollyleaf states her actions overshadow anything her parents did against her. So she says Crowfeather should be forgiving her, not the other way around. Crowfeather says only the victim, Leafpool, can decide if she deserves forgiveness or not. Crowfeather says it's impossble not to feel some disgust at Hollyleaf's crime; but he'll react to it as a fellow warrior, not as a father, as he never earnt being called her 'father'.
A Vision of Shadows:
- Hollyleaf is working hard to be a good daughter to Leafpool and Squirrelflight. She'll go out of her way, to do helpful things like replacing their nests or collecting herbs. She can be overly polite around them, thinking they've been criticised too much already. This annoys Squirrelflight, as she knows her daughter is natrually headstrong and says she should have the guts to be herself. The black she-cat would be the middle point between her two brothers: Jayfeather has unresolved feelings, while Lionblaze has let go of the past. Hollyleaf tries to get along with her mothers, but there would always be the occasional awkwardness, not forgetting the past.
- Hollyleaf is struggling to find her place in the Clan. She doesn't want to get involved in too many battles, fearful she could kill again. Additionally, she doesn't want any authority she could potentially abuse. She asks Bramblestar to never consider her for deputyship and vows she'll never return as a Medicine cat apprentice. For a while, she tries training under Daisy as a permanent queen. Though she learns the position isn't right for her, not having the patience for so many kits.
-When Leafstar creates the mediator rank for Tree, it sparks her interest. It could let her avoid hurting others and the job requires memorization of the code, which she already has. She works with Tree, to become Thunderclan's first mediator. This inspires the remaining Clans to train their own mediators. For Shadowclan, Strikestone steps up as he blames warrior life for his loved ones' deaths. Icewing becomes Riverclan's mediator to repent for her Dark Forest training. Finally, Heathertail volunteers due to her caring nature and experience with angry toms.
- Hollyleaf helps to raise Sparkpelt and Alderheart, while Squirrelflight grieves for her lost kits. Out of her litter, she would be the closest to her adoptive siblings. Hollyleaf is quite protective of Alderheart, reminding her of Jayfeather when he was a weak kit. She likes to ensure that Jayfeather isn't too harsh on his apprentice, reminding him of their parallels. Hollyleaf and Sparkpelt are the most alike, with Sparkpelt claiming she's a "mini-me" of Hollyleaf. The two even become mentor and apprentice, at Sparkpelt's request. Hollyleaf is determined not to disappoint Sparkpelt - She can waver between being strict and soft-spoken, as she desperately tries to get the balance right. Even after her warrior ceremony, Hollyleaf assures Sparkpelt that she can always ask for advice.
- Hollyleaf has some moments in the Darktail and Onestar conflict. When Onestar compares his situation to Hollyleaf and Breezepelt on the possibility of convincing Darktail to stop - The black she-cat dismisses it, saying Darktail is truly too far gone. Hollyleaf encourages Onestar to fix his past mistakes, but he needs to be prepared to make the hard choices if he goes down that road.
Squirrelflight's Hope:
- As a mediator, Hollyleaf joins Tree in his missions, to negotiate with the Sisters peacefully. Due to her past, Hollyleaf doesn't feel like it's her place, to assume she knows better than the Clans. So Hollyleaf feels compelled to act in an offical capacity. So when Squirrelflight starts going against Bramblestar's orders, Holyleaf can't trust herself to join her mother. She simply says to Squirrelflight, 'I hope you know what you're doing'. Though when the Sisters are driven out of their camp, Hollyleaf can't stand aside at that point. She helps evacuate the sisters' kits, including helping with Moonlight's birth.
- As Squirrelflight and Bramblestar argue over their politics: Hollyleaf feels it would be nepotism if she used her position as their daughter, to voice her own politcal opinions to them. Instead, as a mediator, Hollyleaf sets up a meeting in a calm setting, for Squirrelflight and Bramblestar to have a proper heart-to-heart. Also, Hollyleaf acts as a middle-man for other family members: She asks Tawnypelt, to start supporting Bramblestar with his relationship struggles. Then Hollyleaf relays Sparkpelt's story, of her panicking due to her parents aruging.
- When Leafpool dies, Hollyleaf blurts she wishes she'd taken her place. Though Squirrelflight counters that Leafpool wants Hollyleaf to be happy and she needs to live on, for her sake. Hollyleaf and Jayfeather spend more time together, due to their shared grief.
Broken Code:
- When "Bramblestar" first starts his code-breaking agenda, he questions why Hollyleaf isn't more happy about it, considering her old dedication to it. Hollyleaf utters she can't let her dangerous obsession resurface. She states that as a mediator now, she must be able to see the warrior code critically. She gets suspicious of "Bramblestar", noticing he's never cared so much about the code before. She warns him about how that type of obsession can be all-consuming.
-Hollyleaf is the first cat to be exiled, due to her criticisms of "Bramblestar". She attempted to gather the mediators from the other Clans and convince him to stop his cruelty.
- When she discovers Ashfur's identity, she makes it her personal mission to defeat him. Though Hollyleaf refuses to join the rebels, saying she won't fight against anyone else, not even the Imposter's supporters. She swore she wouldn't kill anyone else. Her sole target is Ashfur. Instead, the mediators create a refugee camp for the Imposter's exiles. They guard the most vulnerable while others fight their fellow Clan cats.
-Hollyleaf is shocked when Lionblaze kills Harstar, dragging him off his victim. When he is appointed deputy, she tries to voice her concerns about his bad headspace. However, she is outnumbered, so she is forced to accept it.
-Hollyleaf volunteers to enter the Dark Forest, thinking innocent cats shouldn't need to sacrifice themselves. She briefly encounters Stonefur in Starclan. He recounts his execution and says it was truly sad to see another Half-Clan internalise that hatred. Holyleaf promises she'll make the younger generations less biased towards Half-Clan cats.
- Ashfur taunts Hollyleaf for her hypocrisy for killing him and leaking her parentage anyway. She responds it was wrong for her to take justice into her own hands, when she killed Ashfur alone. But at the same time, Ashfur shouldn't have expected to go scot-free, considering his own crimes. Ashfur is bitter that Hollyleaf got to live on, when he didn't, claiming she's as bad as him. Hollyleaf remains realistic, acknowledging she's a killer, but affirms that Ashfur's crimes vastly outweigh hers by now. She hits Ashfur to his core when she says he's in the same leagues as Tigerstar.
-Hollyleaf feels incredibly guilty when Bristlefrost dies, feeling like she failed her friend Ivypool.
- When Ashfur is cornered, he plays his trump card against Hollyleaf. He exposes Hollyleaf as Leafpool's attempted murderer. The black she-cat was shocked since Leafpool wanted to keep it between them. Even after Ashfur fades away, the damage of Hollyleaf's exposure is left. Though her family understood why Leafpool herself chose to keep it a secret, they still felt betrayed. They weren't surprised due to Hollyleaf's other crimes but it was still disappointing. Some loved ones take a while before they can speak to her again. Meanwhile Hollyleaf's more distant relatives, like Lionblaze's kits, refuse to acknowledge their kinship with her.
- When real Bramblestar returns, he decides it's pointless to exile her again since it's been so long and she's already punished herself that way. Instead, Bramblestar explains that many warriors feel unsafe, sharing their den with a killer. He thinks it's unfair to force them to compromise. Bramblestar allows Hollyleaf to remain in Thunderclan, but she must have her own isolated den, outside of the camp boundaries. She can return to camp to receive assignments, but she just can't sleep there anymore. As for other permanent consequences, she's banned from Gatherings and mentorship.
Starless Clan:
- Hollyleaf supports the warrior code changing, arguing that some rules do more damage than good. She points to her broken family, saying it could've been avoided with proper protocols. She says good mothers like Leafpool are unfairly forced to give up their kits and branded traitors.
- Hollyleaf fosters Flinchkit and Flamekit while Sparkpelt grieves. Flamepaw comes to see Hollyleaf as a mother figure. Sorrelstripe still nurses them but she's more hands-off, wanting to give Hollyleaf space to bond with Flamekit. Flamepaw has a mostly good relationship with Hollyleaf, much better than Sparkpelt. However, he has underlying doubts about her, knowing her murderous past. He is aware that Hollyleaf is the black sheep of the family and fears he might be the same. He knows he gets the occasional worried looks from his clanmates for being so close to Hollyleaf. Sometimes, he has overdramatic fears that he'll hurt Sparkpelt, as Hollyleaf did to Leafpool, artificially drawing comparisons between them.
-When Flamepaw struggles to find his place, Hollyleaf wants to help her nephew. She suggests the mediators could train him to become her successor. However, he shuts her down. He says Hollyleaf is doing the very thing he's trying to avoid: Using nepotism to get a special ranking. Hollyleaf claims mediators aren't glorious, and distrust is still aimed towards them. Though Flamepaw refuses to humor the idea further.
-Nightheart becomes bitter at Hollyleaf's choice to raise him. He argues that their clanmates look at him strangely because the resident murderer decided to get close to him. Hollyleaf mutters she was trying to help Sparkpelt, but Nightheart isn't fully convinced. He says her past makes her unfit to be a foster parent, and she shouldn't use kits to reconcile her own guilt. While Nightheart's words were excessive, Hollyleaf knew he was partly telling the truth.
-Alongside Tree, Hollyeaf tries to convince Tigerstar to leave Riverclan alone. They partly succeed, as Shadowclan warriors are slowly withdrawn from Riverclan camp.
-On one occasion, Hollyleaf overhears Berryheart trying to guilt-trip Sunbeam into abandoning Nightheart. Reacting to this slander against Half-Clan families, Hollyleaf gets into a brief fight with Berryheart.
-After Nightheart matures, he believes he was too harsh towards Hollyleaf. So the next time he sees her, he apologises. The black she-cat admits she should give her nephew space and rethink how her reputation could affect her loved ones.

Liveblog - Dofus, livre 1 : Julith [PART 11]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I've mentioned, Kerubim and Julith have Beef.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As far as she is concerned, whether he was behind her framing (he wasn't) he is one of the people to blame. He defeated her that fateful day, and then she never saw her son again.
Tumblr media
I've already went into detail, on the way "killing" her has affected him, (A mixture of horror and duty. Killing a mother and making a child an orphan for the sake of a city. Being grateful for her dying because it made him a father instead. Feeling awful for that thought.) but it is interesting, how he reacted to her turning out to be alive, when he killed her with his own hands.
Tumblr media
Seething. Perhaps even coping.
Tumblr media
This is chichala, which we had seen. I suppose he uses it to buff himself up before the boss fight. Drinking alcohol before a fight is very much RPG logic.
Sadly, there are no interesting buffs to it in-game:
Tumblr media
I think a lot about the way Kerubim, Joris, and Atcham would be characterized in video game logic, by the way. I still have no working theory of how the hell their fighting styles would synergize. Would Joris be their buffer/debuffer? Their glass canon? Both? And do any of them take ranged weapons on missions...?
Tumblr media
They probably do. It'd be kinda dumb not to. Personally, I like to imagine that Atcham would be the one using those, most of the time. He has that "skyrim stealth archer" vibe to him. (Though they're all melee users, through and through.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite how smug he is at a couple of moments, he really was struggling during this fight.
Tumblr media
My honest reaction whenever Kerubim does this fucking face is just:
youtube
This is very much a "deeply mentally ill adoptive father (who inadvertently ruined his child's life by adopting them to atone for his sins + because he was abused as a child) fighting through an army for his child before dying in their arms and saying they're the only good thing he ever had" look for him.
Tumblr media
Another reason that one has to support both women's rights and wrongs when talking about Julith, is that, like.,.. what was she playing at, here? There are two possibilities:
That she would destroy whoever has the dragon's soul and set it free, giving her an advantage.
That Kerubim would shield that person.
Either one is good. :)
Either way she was perfectly willing to risk/attempt blowing up a random, innocent person, who was hiding from her.
Tumblr media
My personal headcanon is that while Julith is physically stronger than Kerubim, she lost ten years prior because she couldn't stop thinking about The Baby. Where were they taking Joris? Did Bakara leave with him? Is Joris alright? Didn't Jahash give him to this cat man, who was now trying to kill her? What the fuck is going on, who did this, why, why, why?
I imagine seeing him lose for the exact same reason brings her great pleasure.
Tumblr media
the nonbinary slay here was insane
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Guys I think this might be bad for Joris's long term mental stability.
On a more serious note, I think there should be more content about Joris fucking hating Julith. During the movie? There's too much going on to work out what he feels.
But after? He has all the time in the world to hate her for everything she did.
I do think that he probably grew up and found whoever framed her to take revenge on/to get justice. But hating her, and wanting to clear her name of the crimes she DIDN'T commit so she could have some peace in death, so that people would stop smearing her name, — are two things that can coexist.
Tumblr media
Like to slap his bald scaly head, reblog to slap his bald scaly head.
Tumblr media
Kerubim never changed his stupid ass baka "George George the Farmer Farmer" name.
Tumblr media
Though we've been knew.
Tumblr media
BAD. I DON'T LIKE THIS.
Tumblr media
AND she recognizes him by the blue eyes. AND, this implies that, for the entirety of the Dofus show, — and the entirety of Wakfu as well, since he, once again, has yellow eyes there, — he had dragon eyes.
Tumblr media
Imagine being Simone, waking up at 3am, realizing because you forgot something in Joris and Kerubim's bedroom, sneaking in, and seeing this.
It also raises some questions about adult Joris, because we know he no longer has Grougalorasalar in him. The easiest explanation is that he spent so much time with the dragon, that after their final separation, his eyes couldn't change anymore.
After all, — the changes the dragon made to his height/skin/hair are permanent. It would make sense that, with time, even his eyes would be permanently altered.
I don't think it's a sad thing, by the way. Imagine going your whole life with beautiful brown eyes that look a bit like your adoptive father's. Then imagine suddenly having blue eyes (scary) and that they're your Dead Father's Who You Never Met but whom everyone misses. Like which pair of eyes would you choose? Because I think there IS a right answer to this riddle.
Tumblr media
I think Julith has convinced herself that whoever took her and Jahash out wouldn't want loose ends, and that Joris was taken out as well, or something. Maybe that's why he wasn't really on her mind.
Mind you, this is a tinfoil hat headcanon.
Tumblr media
This is so beautiful, to me... She was so emotionally stricken by seeing him again as his mother, that his father, who was both fatally wounded and stricken by seeing her perform deeply painful dark rituals on his son after traumatizing him, could land one last hit on her to save said son.
Julith has been a mother for a grand total of a few days to a month, while Kerubim has been for 10 years. Of course, her first concern is getting surprised it's him, and not that she hurt him. Because she couldn't even dream that she'd ever see him again.
There's a tragedy in that. She never even had a chance to learn how to be his mother, or who he is as a person, — she was the mother of an infant. Her love for him is far more theoretical than Kerubim's.
Tumblr media
It's a love for Joris not as a person, but as a lost opportunity.
So she has no regrets about hurting him, — and she will hurt him as many times as it takes, if that's what it takes to get back her family.

Note
sorry to tell you dragon but the discord has agreed that Rabbitface is Violetstar’s only surviving kit and he is very angsty and heartbroken./silly
Explanation:
Rabbitface lost one sibling to fading kitten syndrome (the phenomenon where a perfectly healthy kitten under 1 month slowly gets worse until they’re gone, with no known disease causing it), another to the war as apprentices, and finally, one to greencough. Violetstar was a horrible mother, but she was a worse partner to her ex (their father), Shrewfrond, who was also horrible to her. However, Shrewfrond wanted to atone, and tried to better himself. Unfortunately for him, Violetstar would send him on every battle patrol until one day, Branchlight returned with his dead body for vigil. Only Rabbitpaw and his sister - who would later be another casualty - Hoppaw mourned his death.
Rabbitface will eventually be the death of Violetstar, in that he will slip deathberries into her prey after Thistleheart lets him know she’s on her final life, and the next leader will exile him for it. He resents that leader anyways, as Violetstar had promised him the deputy position, and then intentionally gave it to them. Branchlight likely retired before any of this, though.
After he’s exiled, Rabbitface makes friends with otterslip. Neither of them know the details of the others’ crimes, but neither care, either. They just find comfort in the fact that they both know the agony of having another cat’s blood on their paws. Once otterslip dies in his sleep, from old age, Rabbitface will spend another few years or so agonizing, all alone, over every choice he’d made, the voice of his emotionally abusive mother playing over and over in his head. He misses the clan he was brought up by, but because of his abuse, he believes he doesn’t deserve a clan, so he dies alone.
Once he arrives in starclan, he’s utterly destroyed by the idea that he earned his way in. He didn’t; they’re punishing him by letting him suffer alone in his mental anguish for all of time. But his siblings are there, and unlike the rest of starclan, they love and missed him.
Finally, maybe not even 50 human years later, starclan wakes to him being gone. His spirit has faded; Shallowclan kept the details of Violetstar’s death a secret, too ashamed of her to allow themselves to admit to the other clans that he had been the one to kill her. They didn’t even say he was exiled at the next gathering. So, once the final cat who was alive and knew him forgets his name… he just fades. He’s gone, for good. And starclan doesn’t care. No one cares. He lived a life of agony and pain, and he’s gone.
Truly, he is tragedy manthing #2717283.
- 🫁
OUGH the story of Rabbitface... he's such a cool little character idea i love it.

Gotham's New Stray
Gotham Menagerie Menace AU: 1 | 2
-Lila swore off the ‘sausage tails’ hairstyle but by god she’s breaking that vow if only so she could use them to strangle Marinette.
-The past month has been an absolute shitshow circus.  Somehow, LB managed to defeat Hawkmoth who turned out to be Gabriel (jfc, just when she thought the asshat couldn’t sink lower) but *gasp* CN has betrayed her! Worse, Adrien is gone!
-So far, no one, not even LB herself, specified what ‘gone’ meant. Was he missing? Was he dead?? Nobody knows and it’s killing them.
-Poor Marinette is naturally heartbroken & worried sick and oh, it’s so romantic how she’s holding onto hope. Just look at the shrine she made for Adrien!
-(Lila will bet her entire Venetian Mask collection that she isn’t the only one who wants to burn the embodiment of a stalker’s delusions & entitlement to the ground.)
-Chloe was throwing money at PIs but with the Hawkmoth revelation, Andre wanted nothing to do with Gabriel, much less his son.
-Felix doesn’t believe he’s dead. Call it stubbornness, call it desperation, call it faith: Adrien was tenacious long before he got the miraculous with an animal said to have 9 lives.
-More importantly, Adrien would Cataclysm himself before betraying Paris (yes, he & the others know bcz secret IDs are bloody overrated).
-Lila, Chloe, Zoe, Nino, Nath, Marc, Felix & Luka are determined to get to the bottom of this but where do they start?
-Their first lead comes in the form of Nathalie.
-Nathalie, who tells them the instructions she gave Adrien; who also shows them the peacock & butterfly miraculous.
-When Adrien Cataclysmed his sperm donor (damn it, all of them would’ve paid to see that), Nooroo barely hid inside his miraculous in time to avoid damage. Luckily, his dormant state made it easier for Nathalie to snatch him & Duusu before LB could.
-Although very suspicious, they begrudgingly accept her help. An adult would make a better scapegoat cover anyway.
-While the others prepare to leave, Felix reaches out to his Gotham pen pal.
F: I’m coming to Gotham. D: And others say my humor is lackluster. F: I’m not kidding. D: And I’m not laughing. D: You’re also not the type to do something without reason. F: Damn right I’m not. I need your help.
-Before leaving, Nathalie tells them one last thing: she’ll hold onto the peacock (she’ll be damned if she lets another kid suffer for her mistakes), but someone has to wield the butterfly. It’s not combat-orientated but being able to empower someone in a place like Gotham? A boon they can’t waste.
Nathalie: Which one of you will accept this responsibility? Chloe: .....just to clarify, Hawkbitch was wearing that like, 24/7? Nathalie: Yes. Chloe: I love Adrien but ew, no, not it. Others: Not it! Nathaniel: Not- damn it! Lila: Twas fate.
-They could’ve sworn they saw Nathalie smile.
Meanwhile in Gotham.......
-Adrien was adapting.
-He’s found a decent building to stay in (Gotham was full of abandoned buildings), got a job at a hole-in-the-wall café & even better, the city was a fresh start for his alter ego!
-Rather than mope around, he’s more determined than ever to continue being a hero. His dad being a villain means he has more to atone for & Gotham may be a slaughterhouse but she never dictated who could play savior.
-He’s established a routine. Whenever he doesn’t have to work at the café/ run errands, he’s prowling around as Stray. He wanders around, helping wherever & whenever needed; saving a stray cat from cruel assholes with nothing better to do, stopping a mugger, befriending other kids who have it rough, he goes where there's trouble which happens to be everywhere.
-(Lots of crime means lots of work that requires lots of focus! Lots of focus means lots of time & less to be spent lingering on many repressed issues/traumas waiting to bite his ass.)
-He becomes a bit of an urban legend. Slowly but surely, he’s welcomed into the community. It’s imperfect & dirty but the slot he’s carving for himself fits him so much better than Paris’s ever did.
-Back home (...? Dare he call it that?), he’s trying his best to take care of all the kwamis. Each were unique & there was never a moment’s peace but Adrien loved them. These tiny gods gave him companionship & guidance despite what his father’s done to one of their kin.
-They try to teach him everything Fu didn’t & he’s lenient with them. His territory has more paraphernalia for their interests than his. When Adrien’s gone, they use fractions of their powers to chase away any would-be-robbers, giving Adrien’s building the ‘haunted’ status.
-Whenever someone he saves offers compensation, Stray usually asks for some food to feed himself & the kwamis.
-(They probably don’t mind giving food bcz there’s the saying abt feeding strays. But hey, him hanging around means extra protection. It’s a fair price to pay.)
-One night, while feeding a bunch of strays, he gets a visitor.
-Catwoman (he's totally not fanboying, he is.)
-Stray is surprised & a bit scared bcz shit, what if he’s done something wrong? Was he trespassing? Was he unintentionally mistreating the strays?!?!
-Catwoman was simply curious. She heard rumors of a ‘Stray’ lingering around the Narrows. She half-expected the mini menace to be some hotshot punk in over his head but-
-She knows.
-She knows how to spot the signs of abuse with a certainty as familiar as it is painful. She’s seen them all: abused animals, abused women, abused children, abused partners.
-The kit covered it with puns, cockiness & charisma but he wasn’t fooling her.
-It wasn’t just the matching theme. They clicked & before he knew it, they were sitting together on rooftops every night to feed & pamper the strays. Some nights, they sat in companionable silence; others they gossiped & bantered each other into a friendly spar.
-Maybe it was the loneliness & lack of human companionship but Stray found himself looking forward to their nightly hang outs.
-Selina knew it wasn’t her place to take him in like Batman would've; but she tried to teach him some tips before the city’s cruelty could. The first time he appears with a cut on his cheek & a split lip, she doesn’t hesitate to treat his wounds.
-Stray wouldn’t call her a maternal figure (she's neither Emilie nor Nathalie), but he comes to view her as a reliable cool older sister/aunt figure. She was nothing like LB. They were parallel lines: heading in the same direction but never intersecting.
-He’s glad that he’s made a friend.
.
.
.
-But some nights, when he thinks the kwamis are asleep, all of them can hear him cry for the friends & lover he never got to bid goodbye to.
To be continued

Best Underrated Anime Group C Round 1: #C8 vs #C1
#C8: Government employee and his white cat boss
Chen Shi, a young man from the countryside, journeys to the capital in search of his missing older brother, whose existence he only knew about upon his mother’s death. He knows neither name nor face of his brother, and after finally arriving at the capital, he runs out of money as well. One thing led to another, and he finds himself employed at Dali Court, where he works for Vice Minister Li Bing, a large white cat.
On the other hand, Li Bing is of royal blood who was imprisoned because of his family’s treason and now has to work in the government to atone for the crime. As for why he is in cat form? That’s for you to find out.

#C1: Friendship over nostalgia for the past, and moving forward
The main girl works at a diner and misses being able to run. Main guy is the boss at the diner and misses writing.
Titles, propagandas, trailers, and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#C8: White Cat Legend 2020 (Dali si Rizhi)
youtube
Propaganda:
Season 1 is light and hilarious, featuring the adventures of Chen Shi and his colleagues at Dali Court. The show has a very colorful cast, and whether they’re on the side of the protagonists or against them, you will find loving them all the same.
And that leads me to another thing I like about this show—nothing is black and white. There are no characters who are “evil” just for the sake of it. Even the most hateful villain has his story. And it’s never clear whose side the characters are on. Enemies may become friends, and friends may become enemies.
Season 2 is more on political intrigue, and it presents us the conflict from two perspectives—from the commoner Chen Shi and from the noble Li Bing—showing us how the same problem can mean differently to people of different classes.
The animation is also top-notch, and the OST is amazing. But the fight scenes are definitely my favorite! They’re so smooth and dynamic, and I keep rewatching them. It’s based on a web comic with a very simple style, but the donghua (Chinese anime) really went far and beyond that.
There’s comedy, drama, action, mystery, hot guys, and cats (both actual and demonic)—so what’s not to love?
Trigger Warnings: Animal Cruelty or Death, Cannibalism, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore
I’m not sure if it counts as cannibalism, but there’s a cat demon who appears in human form, and he eats humans (it’s not shown explicitly, though). Oh, he also eats animals raw (again, not explicitly)—that’s why there’s an animal cruelty/death tag. The violence isn’t really graphic, but there’s blood and sword fighting, especially in season 2
Tumblr media
#C1: After the Rain (Koi wa Ameagari no You ni)
youtube
Propaganda:
It feels like a lot of folks didn’t give this a fair chance because they thought it would be an age gap romance, when it really is more about friendship between the MCs. Don’t be turned off by the opening. It’s cute, but all from MG’s POV. The art is pretty, and Aimer’s “Ref: rain” is one of my favourite songs now, besides it being a beautiful ending theme. Depending on how old you are, you might relate more with one MC over the other.
Trigger Warnings: One-sided age gap. Depending your views, MC's friendship with her boss could be uncomfortable

What’s Beyond Evil about? What about it do you love?
Hello, thanks for the questions! I'm always happy to promo Beyond Evil and gush about why it's 16 of some of the best episodes of television I've ever watched 😊 Assuming this ask is for recommendation purposes, I'll try to keep my explanation mostly spoiler free.
Plot-wise, Beyond Evil is about a 20 year old serial murder case that took place in the fictional small town of Manyang. Lee Dong-sik, local dilf nutjob, was accused of doing the crimes, including killing is own twin sister. He has since become a police inspector in Manyang (returning home 18 years after the murder accusations because an investigation went wrong while he was stationed in Seoul.) Han Joo-won, the son of the Deputy Commsioner of the Korean police force and previously an inspector himself in Foreign Affairs division, comes to Manyang specifically to catch Dong-sik, who he believes to be the killer based on other crimes he was investigating at Foreign Affairs. They are quickly assigned as partners, much to both of their displeasure. (Dong-sik doesn't like Joo-won's snooty, rich city kid attitude and Joo-won wanted to surveil Dong-sik discreetly for his private investigation). What can be described as a cat-and-mouse game between them ensues when a new murder occurs with the same MO as the cases from 20 years ago, exacerbating Joo-won's determination to catch Dong-sik at all costs. But wait, the preppy little hot-shot from Seoul has some secrets of his own and motivations for being in Manyang that aren't purely moralistic or justified ... Most of the show involves them trying to solve the crimes and importantly, the consequences that occur when the answers are revealed.
What I like about Beyond Evil ... well I could probably talk about it all day but I'll try to condense it down into a few bullet points:
The characters - they are all fleshed out, flawed, realistic, and compelling, even the "bad guys". Friendships of all genders and ages are included. The idea of family and what makes people family by blood or choice gets discussed in almost every episode. The people who are portrayed as lifelong friends do genuinely seem like they love and care for one another in an organic way. I don't think there's a character in this show that I don't love for one reason or another even if it is just loving to hate them.
It's a "cop" show that is kind of ACAB tbh. The police are portrayed in a unflattering light unlike most American dramas. The rules surrounding how and when missing persons can be looked for and how the investigations into the various female victims are conducted based either negative or positive societal reactions to the victims are criticized at every turn. In the end, you're left with a lot of questions about how the justice system could be improved but the realization that any kind of change won't be simple or easy
Segueing off the prior point, the victims and their families are the main focus. There's no understand or sensationalizing the killer and the criminals. Trauma, and the lingering affects of a family member being killed, is a major theme that often gets excluded in mainstream crime dramas.
My main pairing. When it comes to Joo-won and Dong-sik, the writers really revolutionized the older jaded cop vs. the younger hot-shot rookie trope. Their relationship is so fascinating and unique. It could be a recipe for disaster or a very mutually advantageous partnership, depending on the situation lol The push-pull between them never fails to satisfy. I love examining power dynamics in my pairings and this one has it in spades. Shipping aside though, the evolution of their relationship and the way Shin Ha-kyun and Yeo Jin-goo portray the characters and how their chemistry ignites onscreen is, in my opinion, a major selling point for the show.
The themes - justice, injustice, atonement, redemption, despair, healing, what it means to be vulnerable and give someone else the power to destroy you or restore you, food as a love language ... Above all, this show is about love
While I feel I've only scratched the surface of explaining why I love this show and would recommend it to everyone, I'll stop here so I don't give away too much. If you do happen to watch the show based on this answer, I hope you enjoy it as much as me!! Thanks again and have a lovely day 🥰

I want to talk about my iteration of Starclan again. Link to original post here
Basically at the center of this Starclan is their version of the gathering island/four trees. Cats go into it searching for prophecies (Prophecies are both delivered from an outside force, and created by the Starclan cats. For instance "Blood will spill blood" was created by a Starclan cat from observations of what was going on, while "Fire alone" is a prophecy that simply came into being of it's own power to a Starclan medicine cat who had felt compelled to sleep in the center of this meeting part, which is a moonlit white and blue tree stump hollow.
The cats gather there to discuss Starclan wide problems, for instance the moving of territories required a full Starclan meeting to determine how to best do that. Along with cats seeking prophecies or greater knowledge. If no meeting has been called or you don't feel compelled to go there, cats will have a lot of trouble even finding this meeting place let alone going inside of it.
However there is a third use of that hollow tree stump is for the only method of moving up a season tier.
If a Leafbare cat sleeps in the hollow, they will be rejudged and may potentially move up to being a Leaf-Fall cat. However, this is a very hard process to get the rights to do, the requirements are basically as followed
The cat must want to atone for previous crimes.
The cat's crimes must be no more then a faded memory.
The cat must have made an effort to atone.
The cat must now understand why they were wrong and have formed a solid genuine desire to not repeat their sins.
The cat needs to have one of the cats they hurt the most agree to come with them on the journey.
The cat must find a Greenleaf Medicine Cat to agree that they have changed and lead them to the hollow.
If all of this happens, the cat has a chance to be brought up to leaf-fall, to escape the cold snow and ice. A show of their redemption, that while they can never repair enough to go any higher or truly atone for the sheer amount of pain done, they have changed, and that is worth knowing, acknowledging and rewarding.
So if for example Tigerstar wanted to go up to Leaf-Fall he would have to act kinder and more gentle to the cats around him and actively want to act like that. He would have to know why everything he did was so cruel and have no desire to repeat or do it all again.
Then when the living clan cats have to no longer bear the scars of what he did, or at least no longer remember where the fading but likely permanent scars come from, so no one new enters who would know him as he was in life. If the cats still curse his name, then the fact he even in death is still causing pain to cats would prevent him from succeeding.
After that he would need a cat like Stonefur, Redtail, or Ravenpaw, some of his greatest victims, to visit him and acknowledge that he has changed and want to help him. Who would then bring in someone like Spottedleaf to evaluate him before agreeing to escort him there. This is the hardest part, because either they need to come to him, or he needs to get cats to agree to bring them to him. A very hard task to accomplish unless he's been forging connections to other cats.
Then his actions in death will become evaluated by Starclan once more and if he has deemed to truly be a different better cat now, that his actions in death are starting to truly make up for what he has done, the snow will vanish from his pelt, the ice melts from his whiskers, and the leaves of Leaf-Fall will seem to fall onto his pelt, tangling into it, and he will be able to cross the border into Leaf-Fall

Okay, 2 and 3 for Ed, Al, Mustang, and Hawkeye!
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
Ed: There are a lot of things I could say here...but I love that he settles down and marries Winry and has kids??? And is the father to them that his own father couldn't be to him???? *sobs*
Al: The fact that after all that suffering, he not only comes out the other side of it, but then presumably goes on to be a peace-loving alchemist-alkahestrist warrior-traveler who's dating a princess??? He's objectively a force of nature by the end of this series AND he's living his best life. I'm so proud of him.
Mustang: It's the semi-effective ladies man card that he keeps in his back pocket--it's SO funny, and it's always unclear how much is an act and how much is just Roy being a little silly.
Hawkeye: BLACK HAYATE. Just kidding. Maybe. In all seriousness, I love how she is a stoic soldier who is also allowed to be vulnerable and it doesn't at all feel forced in either direction. She just feels like a real person. FANTASTIC.
3. Least favorite thing about this character?
Huh, this one is gonna be difficult...
Ed: I do kind of hate that he didn't really properly reconcile with his father, even though it was kind of implied. I hate it for him, anyway, it fit the story pretty dang well.
Al: Yes, he's got his body back now, but WHERE IS HE GOING TO CONVENIENTLY HIDE STRAY CATS HE ADOPTS???
Mustang: The mustache, obviously.
Hawkeye: This is kind of for her and Roy, but I kind of hate that I don't know if I could ever see a point in their relationship or career where they would actually let themselves officially start a relationship. Would they ever be in a place where they would feel alright with letting go of the reins on the government or feel like they had properly atoned for their crimes in Ishval? I genuinely don't know. I just want them to be happy, dangit.

review - ghost trick: phantom detective
app store, nintendo store; first chapters free, full game $10 playtime: ~4-5hrs rating: 8/10 replayability: 7/10
Tumblr media
crazy characters. insane plot. twistier and turnier than a maze. character design happened while on acid probably. such an excellent game.
ghost trick: phantom detective by capcom is a game of "how many" - how many times you're willing to replay a scene before you go look up a guide, how many times sissel has to help other people in his quest to find himself, how many times you take screenshots of missile saying something only a dog would say. every chapter took me tantalizingly closer to the answer only for the ending to completely blow me away with how incomprehensible and perfectly sensible it was. there's an explanation for everything, and there are so many things that need explaining that at the very end, the explanations come in a barrage of satisfaction that leaves me wanting to replay and see where i missed the clues.
every single character is interesting and lovable, all with their own stories and motivations, from the dancing guard to the simpering henchman to the chicken chef and the waitress on rollerskates. even characters you only see in one scene have an important role to play and a life that you get a glimpse into. each design is so incredibly fun, colorful, and silly, and it echoes the game's message - that everyone is connected, and we are all a part of each other's story.
though i used a guide for most of the game (sue me - there's a great one here by fukuyasu), it's definitely not impossible to do on your own with a little more patience and brainpower. the puzzles were fun, though they can become tedious if you're committed to figuring it out on your own. for me, this game was character driven, and i wanted to complete each stage as fast as i could to see a little more of the story. honestly even with how frustrating i found some of the stages, i would still replay it if i had a few hours on my own and see if i can untangle the threads from the beginning - and to see sissel, kamila, lynne, missile, jowd, cabanela, and the others again.
spoilers below
damn! that ending! sissel-cat is too cute. and the yomiel-creature made up of junk and a cone was hilarious. i didn't like that we went back in time to erase everything, and then suddenly it happened in a way i was surprisingly very satisfied with. sissel being yomiel's cat is an ending only ghost trick could have and could make sense of. i wish we got a little more explanation about the blue people, but i did like the insights in the credits into the other characters' lives in the new future.
that gay little family photo at the end was so funny because jowd's wife is fully alive here but instead he's taking a photo with his daughter (kamila) and his adopted not-daughter (lynne) with his work husband (cabanela) who is also lynne's work dad. and their two pets...
one thing i don't understand is why there's no meetup or anything since yomiel said they would all retain the memory of the past events even if those technically didn't exist in this reality, which i liked as a continuity mechanism to deal with fuzzy time travel mechanics. technically they would all remember what had happened right? or at least jowd, yomiel, sissel, and missile would since they were the ones who went back to yomiel's death. i did like that yomiel was fully prepared to die over and over for baby lynne to atone for his crime of holding her hostage, and that we all thought he died before they revealed he was still alive. it makes him a sympathetic "antagonist" in the perfect way, and opens the road to reconciliation.
what a fun game! i love cat sissel so much.

AU Vesper and the Prisma Force 5 (Just a short post explaining a brief synopsis and the rest of the crew)
This AU takes place like, 50+ years in the past. Vesper's backstory is mostly the same, but unlike canon, he's not a general. He's a high-ranking officer stuck in a rut but still dedicated to his job. One particular group of criminals, Prisma Force 4, has been a thorn in Vesper's side for years. They're Robinhood types, or so they claim. Vesper thinks that they pocket most of the goods for themselves. He and their captain are stuck in a long-running game of cat and mouse. Eventually Vesper "wins" and the captain is arrested, only for his punishment to be a life sentence in one of the most brutal intergalactic prisons ever created. His crimes shouldn't qualify him for such a cruel punishment, but through a technicality/loophole the courts are exploiting it ends up going through. Vesper realizes that he can't let that happen, and he feels betrayed by the Empire. He breaks the captain out of jail, drama ensues, and eventually Vesper is convinced to join the Prisma Force 4 (5). The rest of the AU is just Vesper settling into the crew and learning how to be loved, and how to atone for the wrong he's done. Very nice stuff. The crew is the Prisma Force bc they all have a signature color! With Vesper joining with purple/violet. Here's the rest: Captain Enzo Ithas (Red): Crew captain! He's a high-energy cocky kind of guy, and the most willing to get himself into trouble just for the fun of getting out of it. Despite that, he won't do anything that puts the whole crew in danger. He's pretty charismatic, though also the kind of guy a lot of people wanna punch in the face. Always tries to keep things lighthearted with jokes and teasing, and sometimes will accidentally hurt other people's feelings because he didn't read the room. He always makes the effort to apologize and patch things up though! Dr. Thaddius Wynter (Yellow): The ship's medical doctor! They're rather large at 6 ft 6, but they're incredibly gentle! Despite Enzo being the captain, they're the one who actually keeps things in order most of the time. They're calm, level-headed, patient, and very emotionally intelligent. They're not naturally playful, but will happily humor the other crewmates just to see them smile. They're basically the team parent. Despite their gentle nature, they can also lay down the law when needed, keeping things organized and orderly and ensuring that everyone is safe. Mimzy Puckett (Green): She's the team's botanist and chef! She's a super bubbly lady, very high energy and always excited to meet new people and try new things. Some of her dishes can be a little... unique, and even she admits that sometimes she goes off the rails because she just gets too excited. She's the one always getting everyone to do game nights or stop at nearby planets just to talk to the people and see the sights. It takes her the longest to warm up to Vesper. She's very suspicious of Vesper's "sudden change of heart," and for a while thinks that he's only joining their crew so that he can sell them all out as a group. Eventually though she comes to understand how much Vesper cares about being a part of the team, and she's determined for them to be best friends after that. LI-10 (Blue): LI-10, pronounced "Lilo," is the crew's android and communications officer! He too is calm and level-headed, though in a more logical and straightforward way than Dr Wynter. He actually does feel emotions, though because they're programmed scripts that require definitions he feels them differently from organic lifeforms. This allows him to communicate very clearly without it seeming like he's dismissing someone's feelings. He's blunt without being cold. He also is a bit of a photographer! Organic beings aren't able to catalog data the way he is, so he likes being able to capture moments that he can always share with them. It also makes him the resident bookkeeper and storyteller. The crew likes to gather around his photo albums and hear him recall their adventures.

You're so cute and I adore you bunches!!! Can you tell me more about Julian? How did he get to meet Derek anyways? What was his life before the desert crew?
EEEE I adore you so much bb <3 I'm gonna talk about catboy Julian for this since my brain is currently obsessed with beastkin version of him. His life before "meeting" Derek was not a great one lol. He's the middle child of an Irish mafia crime family. His older brother will take over, and his older sister is the backup. So Julian kinda fell into being groomed to be the family gun; taking care of his family's enemies and debtors. He's killed innumerable people, some he feels guilt for, others not so much...Julian is also the black sheep being trans. His older brother advocated to their father not to disown him. Julian made himself useful being the gun, after all. He did spend a short stint trying to be a beastkin activist (maybe trying to atone for his many sins?) advocating for civil rights. But he became disillusioned with how bad things are and have been for millennia. I imagine he wasn't being as vigilant for his safety as he usually is after getting really depressed about that and that's what led to him getting kidnapped so easily. Julian spent three horrifying days in The Hub (a human, beastkin, and drug trafficking center) where part of the process of trying to "break" him was defanging him. He didn't break (can't break what's already broken lol) and he remained aggressive. They were going to execute him when Derek and his father came for a visit as they help fund the place. Derek took an interest in Julian, especially being a cat beastkin, and convinced his father to buy him. There's lots of story leading up to him joining Derek on the Hunt, but he eventually does when they develop their twisted codependence for each other over years (stockholm and lima lol).

determinator verse kaeya, but he makes the lives of the mondstadtians a living HELL by being strict and ceasing to tolerate their lax and gross behaviors once they're evacuated to khaenri'ah and their city is restored down there. how does he know that they're still trying to act gross? because he has informants everywhere, in every place!
- one of his men inform him that diona is being brought near-tears by drunkens trying to pull at her cat bits? kaeya shows up in less than ten minutes, PERSONALLY. asks the poor fucking child who has molested her, and he grabs those she pointed at and pours their entire drink on them before kicking them out, dragging them by the scruff as they protest. margaret tries to protest too and he almost includes her in the people piling out of the cat's tail. kaeya holds the baby cat child until she calms down, pours her some juice and sends her home. then calmly warns margaret that if she lets this behavior happen again at the expenses of diona, no matter how funny she finds it and how many customers it draws in, then he can and WILL ban alcohol from this sector of khaenri'ah with a chilling smile. diona is never harassed again after this, as his informants report after :) but just in case he escorts diona home on most days, too!
- confuses the people hating eula by detaching her from the lawrence clan. good luck picking on her as freely as yall were doing before when she gets another last name, or none at all! she has atoned, and is no longer a lawrence, so what’s there to pick? he also allows her to challenge people to a duel if they offend her, because she has endured not being able to retaliate enough. when the mondstadtians she sends to eat some dust after they challenge her go to protest, kaeya simply smiles at them so serenely, and tells them that they had their fun making her life hell for a last name she wanted to part away from so badly, they had their freedom. now eula 'last name' gets to have hers with those who disrespect her. ''you had refused to sell food not to a member of the lawrence clan, as you all liked to justify it to ease yourselves,'' he tells them, voice of steel, ''but to a young woman desperate to find an home to belong to. you claim of her so little, but the prespect of a duel to even things out frightens you? what vile beings you are. do you choose to sew your mouths shut, or would you prefer to atone for your sins in our prisons? slander without justification is a crime, here.'' that shuts them up so quickly? and nobody bothers her again. those who do it behind her back are swiftly silenced by kaeya's informants. not only that, eula can get moved to another section of khaenri'ah (the liyue section, the inazuma section, etc.) to pick a new life where nobody knows her! she gets to make friends without judgement, build a new life and simply EXIST without being shunned for literally everything she does! and since she's a friend of prince kaeya that comes to visit her often she gets treated with reverence and amicability from the citizens. eula happy ending... finally, what i had been craving. this is projection. i will project forever
- barbara is free to perform! free to sing and dance! the first time albert tries to follow her, he's apprehended IMMEDIATELY by khaenri'ahn guards who demand to know what he was doing following such a young lady. he tries to justify himself and gets thrown into jail. for THREE MONTHS STRAIGHT. when he's pushed out, he's encouraged not to pursue this behavior again. he does it anyway and this time he's stopped by kaeya himself, aquila favonia in hand. barbara sees only kaeya and she waves at him, and he waves right back at her, covering the silouetthe of albert with his body. after that day, simply put, albert is never seen again and not missed. if he has been thrown again into a cell, forcibly moved section or simply disposed of, it's not clear: but barbara has a much easier life since the most obsessed of her fanclub's members seems to have given up. the rest of it gets the message and calms down considerably too while still supporting her! they're very calm when they approach her, and barbara is thankful for it because she needed a break! kaeya also seems to be always present when a crowd forms around her, simply saying hi. what a nice fellow he is, he hasn't changed much from childhood! he still cares and looks out for her! :) (of course she misses the chill going through the crowd each time he appears.)

Comics read this past week:
Marvel Comics:
Black Widow (2014) #1-20
These issues were published across January 2014 to July 2015. All were written by Nathan Edmondson and drawn by Phil Noto.
I largely didn’t really care for this book. The premise is that when Natasha isn’t working for the Avengers or for S.H.I.E.L.D., she’s taking on jobs for criminals but against other criminals, jobs that have to fit certain ethical requirements in order for her to accept them. This is to fund both her personal network of safe houses and various trusts to atone for her past crimes, but it’s all brokered through her lawyer, new character Isaiah Ross, so that her work doesn’t become about money for her. In issue #2 she says, regarding this, “Picking your own jobs means you get to exercise your own ethics. But ethics isn’t a science. Which is to say… You do your best… But that doesn’t make you right.” I don’t have any issues with this concept, but I didn’t find anything that was done with it to be interesting.
In issue #1 Natasha says, “No one will ever know my full story.” In issue #3 she says, “I don’t have a home. A home is a distraction. In my work one cannot have distractions.” These kinds of vague assertions frequent the book, which is unfortunate because they are just inherently uninteresting. Natasha’s growing ease with her life is demonstrated through her relationship with a stray cat, Liho, which she goes from feeding but not allowing into her home in issue #1, to allowing into her home in issue #6, and then to trying to make Isaiah take but then choosing to keep in issue #18. I didn’t find this emotionally compelling at all. In issue #16 there were some flashbacks to Natasha’s childhood that didn’t work for me because I didn’t think they fit well with the portrayal of her upbringing that was in Black Widow: Deadly Origin (2010), which I am attached to already because that I did find compelling. In issues #19-20 we see another flashback, this time to Natasha as a young woman, in which, under orders, Natasha kills the friend she had in the prior flashback, as well as her boyfriend and her cat, because the friend was believed to be becoming too attached to and settled in her cover to be of any more use to the Red Room. For me this was too little too late. This context could have given Natasha’s prior vague musings more depth had it appeared earlier in the book, but as it was Natasha was just inexplicably resistant to normal life many years after defecting for too long.
I did find Natasha’s relationship with her lawyer Isaiah to be a bit interesting. It’s a recurring thing throughout the book that he nags her about how she doesn’t have enough money. In issue #2, while Natasha is away on a job, he’s targeted by people who want to use him to extort money from her, and he takes care of the situation and kills them all before she gets back and never tells her about it. In issue #7 we see that his sister is worried about him working for Natasha, who is apparently his only client. We learn that Isaiah formerly worked for the mob, which Natasha got him out of, and that he now feels indebted to her.
I’ll also make note of Bucky’s role in this book because I believe it’s the first time he and Natasha have been depicted together since their relationship was ended by Natasha being brainwashed to forget it in Winter Soldier (2012). The depiction of that was somewhat vague, their relationship was in no way a secret before that and it’s not as though everyone agreed on-panel to keep it a secret from her after she forgot. Bucky first shows up in issue #8 of this book when he and Natasha happen to have intersecting missions. Natasha is at least aware of who the Winter Soldier is and speaks professionally with him. Bucky tells her, “It’s been a while… not that I don’t hear stories…” She doesn’t seem to think how he coordinates with her and his desire to patch up her wounds is at all suspect of them being something other than distant colleagues. When the people they’re fighting call for back-up, Natasha says, “Takes more than a few thugs to take down the Winter Soldier himself, right?” When he tells her to leave and that he’ll take care of the gang, she at first dismisses that as unnecessary chivalry, but he convinces her that that’s what makes sense for their different missions. But Bucky then falters, calling her back to say something to her, and then not being able to do. As Natasha leaves, she tells him, “You’ve got this… You always did impress me.” After she’s gone Bucky is more open about his emotional attachment to Natasha. He tells the people he’s fighting, “You shot at Natasha. That was your last act on earth pal.”
Bucky next shows up to save Natasha when she’s in trouble in issue #15. He admits that he’s been watching her from afar for awhile, which she finds suspicious, asking, “Why? Why me? I don’t believe in two coincidences.” He tells her, “Because someone needed to know where you were. Especially with what happened on TV,” referring to a news report that painted Natasha in a negative light and caused S.H.I.E.L.D. to distance itself from her, which Natasha believes. Later, Bucky tries to prevent Natasha from running into danger, and Natasha punches him in the face to stop him. This reminded me of their reunion in Captain America (2005) #27, the first time the two of them had seen each other since the Red Room, which was a fight that ended in Bucky knocking Natasha out. In issue #18 he rescues her again, and he tells her, “I could take you anywhere, you know, We could- You could go away for awhile. The world hasn’t been kind to you and maybe you need to just-” but she turns him down.
Secret Avengers (2010) #5 and #15 and #18-20 and #22-25 and #37
This series, from issue #1-37, was published across May 2010 to February 2013, according to the Marvel Wiki. I’ve listed just the issues that I read in full. I originally started skimming through this book to see if there was anything interesting with Sharon Carter in the issues written by Ed Brubaker, because this series takes place after Captain America: Reborn (2009) and I still felt like I hadn’t gotten proper closure for what was built up with Sharon in Captain America (2005). Unfortunately, I didn’t find what I was looking for with Sharon in this series so I still feel that way.
Issue #5 was written by Ed Brubaker and drawn by David Aja, Michael Lark, and Stefano Gaudiano. It details the history of a LMD of Nick Fury who believed he really was Nick Fury between issue #1 of this book and when he was last seen in The Defenders (1972) #51. In The Defenders (1972) issues he was working for Jake Fury, Nick’s brother, and part of that was impersonating Nick. He doesn’t react when Jake says that he’s an LMD in his presence in The Defenders #49 and he’s fine when he speaks briefly to Nick in The Defenders #51, but in issue #5 of this book his relationship to Jake Fury and reaction to his death isn’t delved into in any depth and instead his issues are presented as coming from the shock of learning that he’s not the real Nick Fury. He apparently spent years on the run from S.H.I.E.L.D., continuously forgetting that he’s a LMD and believing that he was being wrongly persecuted by S.H.I.E.L.D. for mysterious reasons unknown to him, and doesn’t accept that he’s a LMD until he comes face-to-face with Nick 5 years before the events of Secret Avengers. He was supposed to be incinerated after that, but instead he’s saved by the Shadow Council, who believes that someone with Nick Fury’s memories would be valuable to them, and is given his own name, Max.
I ended up continuing with this book largely because I wanted to see what happened with Max Fury. In issue #9 (written by Ed Brubaker) he tells Sharon that it’s nice to see her again, and when he’s told that they’ve never met before, he says, “I know… But I remember you like we were good friends once upon a time.” Throughout these issues Max works for the Shadow Council, the Father of the Descendants (who commanded an organization that included Doombots, adaptiods, synthezoids, Machine People, and Reavers), and his own version of the Masters of Evil (which Max claimed, at different times, was actually for the Shadow Council or actually for Father, depending on who he was talking to), which I thought was charming of him, very rogue Nick Fury-like. In issue #30 (written by Rick Remender) Max tries to use the crown of the Abyss but it doesn’t work for him. He’s told that it’s “because you’re a life-model decoy- a gussied-up robot” and that it “might be time for the tin-man to admit he doesn’t have a soul,” to which he says, “No- not after all of this- I’m more than a robot… more.” In issue #33 (written by Rick Remender) Max finally gets killed. The context is that he’s been imprisoned by the Secret Avengers and he was told he was being broken out, much like his original escape from S.H.I.E.L.D., and then is betrayed. His final words were, “You- you can’t do it like this- build up my hopes-”
Issue #15 was written by Nick Spencer and penciled by Scot Eaton and inked by Jaime Mendoza. This issue was a tie-in to the Fear Itself event and had Natasha confronting a tabloid news organization for baselessly claiming that Bucky’s Death in Fear Itself (2011) #3 was a hoax, despite the fact that it would later be revealed in Fear Itself (2011) #7.1 that Bucky’s death was, in fact, a hoax, and one that Natasha had orchestrated herself.
Issue #18 was written by Warren Ellis and drawn by David Aja and was a strand-alone story featuring Steve, Sharon, and Shang-Chi on a mission together. The artwork was great, but nothing about the story really stood out to me other than Steve dismissing Arnim Zola 4.2.3. as “just a broken phone” and saying that the Shadow Council is “good at recruiting broken copies of things.”
Issue #19 was written by Warren Ellis and penciled by Michael Lark and inked by Stefano Gaudiano and was another single-mission issue, this time with Steve, Sharon, Natasha, and Moon Knight. The artwork was also good, but nothing interesting happened characterization-wise for me.
Issue #20 was written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Alex Maleev. This was actually a really interesting story where Natasha gets sent back in time right when a mission was going south and she has to find a way to make it go right without disrupting the timestream. She ends up orchestrating the construction of the device that sent her back in time in the first place, and with that specifically getting it built with what she needs to ensure the mission succeeds when she goes back to that moment. In order to balance both her own morals and the preservation of the timestream, she works with criminals right before she knows they’re about to be killed, which includes people that she killed herself in the past but hadn’t known that this mission was what she was doing it for when she first did it.
Issues #22-25 were written by Rick Remender and drawn by Gabriel Hardman. This was the beginning of the robot-focused storyline where the Secret Avengers were fighting the Descendants, which I actually largely really liked. In these issues the original Human Torch joins the team and I found him intriguing, and also Eric O’Grady gets killed and replaced with an LMD. I was frustrated with how, after this, once the Eric LMC finally publicly betrays the team, people spoke negatively about Eric as though he had any control over what happened with his corpse after he died. Issue #37 was written by Rick Remender and drawn by Matteo Scalera. This was the conclusion of the Descendants storyline. I wasn’t particularly compelled with what happened with the Human Torch, but also in this issue it’s finally acknowledged that Eric isn’t at fault for what the robot imposter of him did.
Fawcett Comics:
the Captain Marvel stories in Whiz Comics (1940) #82 and Captain Marvel Adventures (1941) #69 and The Marvel Family (1945) #8
In this batch of 7 Captain Marvel stories I read through the Captain Marvel appearances in February 1947, according to the issue cover dates. The stories ranged from 7 to 11 pages.
In the story “Captain Marvel and Billy Batson’s Xmas” (written by Otto Binder; art worked on by C.C. Beck, Pete Constanza, and the Beck-Constanza Studio) in Captain Marvel Adventures #69 Billy decides to get a Christmas present for Captain Marvel because, “Of course, Capt. Marvel and I are the same person, but why shouldn’t I get him a present? Ha, ha! I guess I’m the only one in the world who can buy a present for himself!” Billy buys for Captain Marvel “a certain something he would just love to have! He never dared get it because he’s such a big, strong man!” And reciprocating, Captain Marvel buys something that “Billy always wanted, but never had the- er- nerve to buy for himself!” But, unfortunately, Captain Marvel also agreed to be the Santa Claus for a party that’s at the same time as the Christmas party Billy planned. When he realizes this, Billy is crushed, thinking, “We won’t even be able to open our presents for each other, and that would have been such fun!” However, Captain Marvel is able to find another person to be the Santa Claus and he makes it to Billy’s party. The present for Billy was a “loud” necktie, and the present for Captain Marvel was a childish game, a tiddle-de-wink set.

The Hot Introductory Mess that I will Clean Up when I am home
Directly copy and pasted from my google doc.
Wilbur by Name Erebus By Trade
Captain Blackwater - Or so he is named for his love of coffee
Erebus was never used to stability. He had been on the run his whole life but found structure in freelance work as, what most would consider, a “Privateer”. He is an explorer and damn good at it, specialising in exploring and charting the most unusual and uncomfortable reaches of the world where it is the most inhospitable. He is an excellent survivalist and grew up knowing how to sail a ship with minimal crew - for that was the consequences of living aboard a Pirate vessel. He had grown to excel in all manners of positions aboard ships and eventually took over command of his dearest flagship The Revenge earning the title of Captain Blackwater after his love of coffee. A three anchor, three mast frigate at thirty and a half metres long. A beast of a ship, she is still lightweight enough to skirt and flex amongst hazardous and narrow passages, sailed with expert hands and minds between her helmsman and her Captain.
He has survived endless torments and turmoil, learning to survive by scraping everything and whatever he has together to keep himself afloat, his skills of survival have kept himself and others alive much longer than God ever intended them to be. He has lost dear friends to the frights and challenges of the world, exposure, starvation and disease and yet it seems he is doomed to walk away from every conflict. Either that or he was forever being punished for his hubris. As Sisyphus rolls his boulder, Erebus must continue to adapt and learn if he wants to keep his head. Should he fail to provide the British Admiralty with what they wish.
He signed an agreement with the British Admiralty. His research in exchange for his freedom and not being tried for his earlier crimes against the Crown. He will never get credit for his work but in return his crew and himself have a blind eye turned to his presence.
He has grown to be empathetic though often seems cold and distant. Struggling with attachment, he chooses instead to show his love through selfless acts of valour, believing himself a man that is cursed with fortitude or a cat with nine lives. As a Captain he is a “first one in, last one out” leader, keen to ensure every mouth is fed before he even considers helping himself. He ensures every soul is tucked into bed before he lays his own head down. Sleep never comes easy.
You would not think him the Captain of this formidable ship. Formidable, yes, but quiet and subdued. Not only that but he is surprisingly short at just around 165 cm. He believes actions speak far louder than words; the respect he has earned comes from the care and support he provides his crew of eighty. He employs both women and men and whatever falls between. Should you be able to to the tasks assigned to your stations then you have earned your keep and his care as Captain. He is indiscriminate, having lived a life where such fallacies have no room to breathe and knowing full well that all living things bleed the same.
He is a man haunted by past of struggles and desperation to stay alive; of destitution and abandonment, hunger and starvation, rebellion and he clings to a hope that there is room and a future worth living for. This man breathes hope and strength no matter the crisis and no matter the pain. At times he may seem sombre, preferring to isolate and find peace alone, feeling deeply as if he must atone for the deaths and lives lost either by his own hand or through his failings to save those he has cared for.
Insert to the Terrorverse:
Lady Jane and Sophia Cracroft shook him more than he should admit. James Ross believed that his dear friend Francis Crozier is, indeed, in dire straits. However, there seemed to be no way to convince the admiralty. Lady Jane, however, had old contacts from their time spent in the South Pacific. Captain Blackwater would be resupplying in London and James Ross commissioned him to venture out and find his friend and bring the crew back at any costs. He’d be willing to pay. And pay very very handsomely. But Erebus did not desire wealth nor recognition. Just freedom. To be unshackled from this deal with the admiralty so he could pursue other interests.
Erebus saw the desperation and honesty, the hope of Sir James Ross. He felt the weight of such an esteemed man coming to him of all folks almost begging. Almost ready to get on his knees. “I was told that if there was any man that can find Francis…” Sir James Ross’ voice had wavered, “It’d be you.”
The choice was made for him. A hundred crew. A hundred good folks. Folks with families and some with children. Some were married. Some it was not safe for them to be together unless it was upon The Revenge. It was a sick and twisted way to force his hand, certainly. But again, he knew it was a long time coming. The admiralty expected far more fight from him. He offered them none. How glorious it would have been if he came in snarling and teeth clenched, words and tongue aflame like the cursed man he was. It would have been everything that the British Admiralty would have hoped for. He knew that deep down they got their stones off and all tight up against their thighs when there was the scent of blood in the water. A collage of meagre and pitiful old men full of pretence and past tenses that they used as a cock pump to make themselves feel vigorous again since impotence certainly cradled their tight belts more than any woman or man probably did nowadays.
A hundred good folks rested on his shoulders. Erebus was young, certainly. A fool? Never. Erebus knew better and was fully aware that the English had no intentions of keeping him. They took and they took and they took. They robbed and raped people for a pass-time. Even if not literally he knew the damages done to the good indigenous folks across the Oceans. From Haiti to New Zealand to Australia. From Dominica to Puerto Rico and every unfortunate islet in between. If it smelt nice and tasted nice then certainly it must belong to the British Empire. Who best to be the ruination of fine things in life than the English? They could not even respect their own neighbours. To them, too, they fucked the peoples raw and sapped them of any scrap of dignity upon which they may stand on proper legs. Oppression was the biscuits they ate with their pilfered tea. The idea of the British Empire being called a Monarchy was a sick and laughable joke. Erebus could only see these thieves and oppressors as Royal Kleptocracy at best.
He saw what had become of the villages and towns. Of the people that produced their teas and coffees and sugarcane. Of their rum and their rich fine goods. Of the hands that built their little empire on the slave labour of the native folks that were forced under the reddened leather of the English.
It was no surprise he was dragged before  the Admiralty and given the ultimatum of “Or the gallows.”
“And my crew?”
“We have plenty of rope. In fact. Your ship is well stocked.”
He had smiled then, a sheepish and shy thing as if someone had cast a flirtatious remark. His eyes were downcast and he nodded politely. The decision was made for him. For how long they would keep him in this bondage he did not know. He was not a fool. For as long as he was useful, and useful was a vague term (one that the Admiralty boldly threw at his feet), he was alive. More importantly the men and women aboard his ship were alive. Loves would blossom. Freedom of self and autonomy of their spirit was at stake. If it were such a simple matter of his own execution he would have gladly accepted it and allowed his throat to be branded by his own riggings and for his body to have gone cold. He would simply have gifted The Revenge to his Helmsman and her wife and they could make a life back at Sea. Marzia was an excellent Second aboard his ship and knew The Revenge and her crew as well as Erebus did. It would have been of no consequence.
But no… The Admiralty had to threaten the well being of the lives of the others. He was trapped. Bound to that cruelty he accepted the partisan deal. Enslaved to track down their missing “heroes” and important figures from hubris and the drag of the ocean. He knew his life was on borrowed time and it would be only a matter of that same borrowed time until they tired of his presence like a filthy hunting animal let into the pristine mansions of Lords and Sirs or he brokered his way out of his bondage.

Find The Word Tag
I totally didn’t forget about this no way. Thank you @vacantgodling for the tag! My words were brown, skull, dive, atone, and squirm.
BROWN (After the Credits Roll)
There were still faint bloodstains on the kitchen floor. The crime scene cleaner had done his best, but it seemed as if the blood was determined to stick around, to live on as yet another ghost, a faint reddish-brown residue that had sunk into the lacquered wood and stuck to the tiles in places that only someone who had lived in that house for a very long time would have noticed. Kirby shuddered, moving on from the room, drifting through the put back together living room. She’d been told what happened, of course, the vague details at least, but it hadn’t quite sunk in yet that it had happened in her own home. Annoying cheater Trevor (who, for all his faults, really hadn’t deserved any of this) had died there. Charlie had died there. Something about that didn’t seem quite right to her.
SKULL (Rot and Ruin: The Village at the End of Existence)
Danny met her outside of the classroom, and he frowned when he saw her. “Hey, you doing okay? You look like shit.”
Harley glowered. “Stayed up late last night searching for your mystery town.” She winced as the pounding in her head intensified.
His eyes lit up. “Did you find anything?”
She nodded, and reached into her backpack. She drew out a bottle of painkillers, slipped two into her palm, and choked them down dry. “I’ll tell you after, if I survive that long. Woke up with a headache from hell this morning.”
The flowing tide of students was growing stronger now and they had no choice but to let it sweep them to their normal seats. The painkillers didn’t seem to do much to quell Harley’s headache, and she spent most of the hour and a half with her head resting on her desk, viciously fighting the urge to scream. Every little noise was like a needle being driven into her skull, precisely where it would hurt the most. She could feel Danny watching her worriedly, and at one point she nearly sat up and punched him. She was not one to take pity, especially not from a man.
DIVE (Night of the Cat)
I cheated a little on this one I couldn’t find the word, but the bar mentioned in this excerpt is a dive bar so
She had no clue what time it was when the bartender threw her out of the bar, but the sky overhead was still its oily black, and the dim streetlights flickered pitifully. It was quiet; the roar of city noise was far off in the distance, in the safer districts of town. This was where the lowlifes lived, the dirty oil rig workers, sex workers, and other undesirables.
She had been haunting these streets for almost a week, getting drunk off of whatever alcohol she could swindle out of the horny bastards that frequented the bars, and brawling with those she couldn’t mooch off of. She had yet to lose a fight.
She had, however, lost her knife, she realized in dismay as she picked herself up off the ground. A pity...that one had been her favorite so far. Maybe she had left it lodged in someone’s gut, she thought idly, or maybe someone had swiped it when she wasn’t paying attention. No matter; she would just have to find a new one. With any luck, she’ll be able to filch one off of her next victim.
I could not find atone or squirm in any of my stuff, which kind of shocked me, but to make up for it I’ve included a couple of snippets from A Hero’s Call below.
From Chapter 3:
She replayed the scenes she had seen before she passed out, all of those bizarre, terrifying images. That was what struck her the most: they had scared her. Kira squeezed her eyes shut briefly. She’d been treating this like a game, hadn’t she? Like some puzzle to piece together. She had probably seen a man die last night, and here she was playing superhero.
“Kira, are you okay?” Her mother asked, breaking her out of her thought spiral.
“Huh? Yeah, yeah...fine.”
“Do you just not feel good?”
She nodded. A lump was forming in her throat.
“Okay. Just let me know if you start feeling worse.”
“...Okay.” Kira didn’t like how small she sounded.
From Part II, which is an as of yet unknown amount of chapters into the story:
“Okay but what if he’s like some sort of weird space creep?” Pickle reminded them of his presence, and he started scooping up pinecones from the ground and throwing them at the girls. “What if he’s like Palpatine or something? Coming to make you his evil protegee?”
“Swear to God if you make another Star Wars reference I will kill you in your sleep,” Kira said. She caught a pinecone and flung it back at him.
“Don’t deprive me of my joy by being an uncultured swine, Kira.” He dodged her attack effortlessly.
“I’ll deprive you of more than your joy you little-”
“He has a point, Kira,” Emily cut in before Kira could try and throw her brother. “We don’t know anything about this guy. He could have asked you to meet him so he could kill you for all we know.”
I’m going to leave this as an open tag for anyone who wants to do it. Your words are slither, rip, crawl, fuzzy, and alive.
