I thought about Hela being able to get the reader pregnant, I don't know how it would work, but it crossed my mind and I couldn't help asking you. Perhaps the reader discovering that she is pregnant and then telling Hela? I understand if you don't want to do it

A/N: This is a very old prompt, and it is very short simply because I felt like it truly would be a short, intimate moment between the two of them as they prepare for the road ahead of them. I hope you enjoy this soft, sweet little fluffy fic!
You wrung your hands together as you paced back and forth from the door of your chambers to the window, the same thing you had been doing for the greater part of an hour now, your mind still reeling with the news the healers had given you earlier that morning.
You’d been feeling a little under the weather as of late, waking up nauseous in the mornings and the littlest scent or taste of food sending you running for the washroom to be sick in an empty washbasin. It had been going on for just over a couple of weeks, and while you hadn’t exactly been hiding it from Hela, you’d not exactly told her about it, either.
And it wasn’t to say that you’d had no idea what was going on with you. It was just that you’d been a little surprised at the likelihood of what was going on with you.
It was no secret that pregnancy on Asgard was different than you’d read about in other realms and star systems. While it seemed to only be possible between certain people biologically elsewhere, on Asgard it was an entirely different process that relied not on certain necessities between two people, but rather the seidr that each held within their person. It was something that was simply known on Asgard, and precautions were taken accordingly.
Except, perhaps, you and Hela hadn’t been as careful as you should have been, you had begun to realize as you’d sought out the healers for a more direct diagnosis. And when they had confirmed that you were, indeed, with child, rather than go straight to Hela to let her know, you’d gone to your chambers to come to terms with everything first before telling her.
It wasn’t necessarily a terrible thing, if you were pregnant. After all, you and Hela had been together for many years, properly courting and then marrying just over a year ago, so it wasn’t as though you would have no support system whatsoever. It was just that you weren’t sure if that was what Hela wanted. She was in line to become Queen one day, and while it didn’t seem that she would be taking over the throne any time soon, you knew that one day she would, and it would take up much of her time. And a baby thrown in in the middle of that could be a distraction Hela wouldn’t want just yet, despite her current position in waiting to step into her power.
But hiding it from her simply was out of the question, and you knew that, even as you continued to pace around your room. Even if you wanted to keep it from her as long as possible, she’d find out eventually, and the idea of her not knowing from the beginning and possibly being hurt or worse that you hadn’t confided in her could lead to an entire series of events that you couldn’t even begin to imagine, let alone want to go through.
No, you needed to tell Hela.
Today.
You just needed a little time to process first.
Your pacing was drawn to an immediate halt when not five seconds later, you heard a knock at your door, gentle but with a firmness that let you know it was important.
“Y/N?”
Well, it seemed your time to process was up already.
You took a slow, deep breath and crossed over to the door, opening it with a smile that came more easily than you thought it would.
“Can I come in?” Hela was always so formal with you, despite the fact that it was her room, too. But it was endearing, you supposed, to know Hela respected your privacy even in your shared chambers.
“Of course you can.” You stepped back a bit so she could make her way in, and closed the door behind her, leaning back against it as she turned to face you.
“I was told you went to the healers this morning. Is everything alright? Are you ill?” She reached forward to take your hands in both of hers, and you softened at the gentle expression of concern that had taken over her features.
“I’m fine. Really.” You took another deep breath, exhaling slowly before continuing. “But… there is something I need to tell you.”
Hela’s expression became a little more serious, and she nodded, leading you over to the bed and sitting down with you, her gaze never leaving yours as she waited for you to speak.
There was really no reason to beat around the bush any further, and without any way other way to do it, you simply came out and said it.
“Hela, I’m with child.”
Hela blinked once, expression remaining entirely neutral for a split second.
And then she smiled.
“Y/N, that’s wonderful news!”
It was your turn to blink dumbly as you looked at her. “…it is?”
She looked at you for a moment, expression growing serious again. “Well, I think it is. But if you don’t, that’s okay, too, and we can… talk about your options.”
“No, I… it isn’t that. It isn’t that I don’t think it’s wonderful news. It’s just… well, it’s life-changing a bit, wouldn’t you say?” Now that the truth was out, and you could be open about it, you were overwhelmed with the reality of the situation.
“Of course it is. And it will take a lot of work, from the both of us, to be ready and to have everything ready. But Y/N… I need you to know that you don’t have to be frightened. And if there was something I said or did to make you worry about you telling me this news, please tell me.”
You shook your head a bit, squeezing her hands gently. “I just… I didn’t know if this was something that you’d… want. With you in line to become Queen, and all the work that would come with that. I didn’t want to take away from your preparation.”
Hela softened again, bringing a hand up to cup your face gently so that you were looking directly at her. “Y/N, nothing could ever make me not want to do this with you. Not anything. And perhaps it’s a little sooner than either of us imagined it happening, but that doesn’t make me any less happy, and it doesn’t make me love you any less than I do. Nothing could ever change that. Do you understand me? Nothing.”
You nodded, feeling a weight lift from your chest, and you smiled softly.
“…thank you. I really needed to hear that. And I’m happy to do this with you, too. No matter how… crazy it all gets. We’re in this together. You and me.”
Hela smiled softly. “You and me.” And she reached down to place a gentle hand on your stomach. “And the little one, too.”
You laughed softly, finally feeling like everything was just as it should be. “And the little one, too.”

How do you feel about Odin, because I saw lots of posts saying odin messed big time with all three of his kids but then you say you only said because it’s fun
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Thor 1, and only Thor 1, with ONLY the context of Thor 1, I can argue that Odin was just trying to reach out to his kids and couldn't quite manage it. That he was a good, but flawed father, who tried. That opening scene where he grabs their hands is extremely soft. Odin couldn't fight the Odinsleep and he had been putting it off, but rather than immediately go to sleep after Thor was banished he finds Loki to make sure he's okay. I genuinely think that if Odin hadn't fallen asleep, he could have talked Loki down from the rest of the chaos of the movie. When you add in all the movies after Thor 1, that's when I'm like "hmmm. no. with more context, you're actually a terrible person and father."
I've read so many fics where Odin is a good parent. I've written a few myself. I actually started a one-shot series, now deleted, of times where Odin was a good parent. I love the idea of him being a good parent, but I just don't see that as canon reality. With how he's treated his children, the combined evidence of how all of them turned out speaks volumes for how loved they felt. Even if we got to see Odin's perspective, that doesn't matter to me. Odin doesn't get to decide he isn't the bad guy to his children. What he did affected them permanently. Are his children biased in how they view him, so the audience is too? Yes. But again, Odin doesn't get to be the good guy just because his motivations are muddled and more complicated than we usually think of them as being. His children were victims of him and you can see that time and time again. That is something that I personally can't look past. Even if he had the most loving, deeply caring reason in the entire world to treat them like that, Thor, Loki, and Hela deserved better than what they got. They are not okay and if Odin had been a good parent, they would have felt loved and more secure. Being a bad parent is different than being a bad person, but Odin manages to get 2/2 with the context of later movies.
I said in the tags of a post I reblogged discussing Odin not being as horrible of a person as we consider him to be, the post you tagged me on, that "I write him as abusive because I find it interesting" and to be clear - I do think that Odin, with all the context of every movie we have, is abusive. I do not think he is physically abusive, and I didn't clarify that. There is little to no canon evidence of that, but THAT is what I put into my fics because I find it interesting. Physical abuse. It's not that it's the Worst Type of Abuse or that I'm trying to play everything up just because I can. IT's just one type of abuse that I want to explore. It's fanfiction. I am exploring the possibility of what Thor and Loki would be like if they were physically abused. I wrote a fic where Hela was the victim of human experimentation and like. I had fun. People love that story. It isn't canon and I know that, but that doesn't mean I can't write it. It's very canon-adjacent.
But, regardless of that, emotional neglect is abuse. Thor, Hela, and Loki in canon absolutely have symptoms of being emotionally neglected and somewhat have some of being emotionally abused, You can see Frigga being emotionally neglectful to Loki in the TDW, and the way Loki reacts to it suggests that he's not surprised and he is used to it. Odin tells Loki his birthright was to die as a child on a frozen rock and that he should be grateful to Odin for not killing him. You know. As a baby. Odin is extremely dismissive and emotionally neglectful of both Thor and Loki in the TDW. He compares the woman Thor almost died for to a goat and you can see that it hurts Thor, but he says nothing in his defense. Thor is severely depressed in TDW and you can see it everywhere, and Odin doesn't care. Frigga doesn't care. They ignore it because it's easier. Sif is really the only person to ask if he's okay, and that's at the end of Thor 1. That to me suggests that their home environment was not very healthy. You know that entire conversation of "reassurance" between Frigga and Thor in Endgame? That is a master class of emotional neglect. She didn't help him. She didn't listen to him. Not a healthy environment.
I think deep, deep, deeeeeep down in canon, Odin and Frigga wanted to be good parents - to Thor and Loki, they would leave Hela in prison for a 1000 years and be cool with it, oh wait they actually did - but they didn't have the time/energy/mental health to manage it. They're both the rulers of nine worlds, they don't have time to raise kids. Thor and Loki are vying for their attention constantly which suggests that it's a very rare thing to receive from their parents. Thor is the most attention-starved person in MCU in the first Thor. Emotional neglect!! I genuinely think that Thor and Loki more so raised each other than their parents.
So no, I don't like Odin. I think he's a complex character and I'm happy to discuss him in depth, but I think he is an awful, awful parent. Like I said, there is a distinction between parenting and the person, and Odin is a TERRIBLE parent. He's not an amazing person either, but I think he tried. Odin didn't decide to stop collecting realms on a whim, something must have happened that made him value peace over bloodshed. He told Thor and Loki that "a wise king must never seek out war, but must always be ready for it" so he was trying to be a better king and not leaping at things with his teeth bared. He tries to stop the war with Laufey. Idk. It's complicated. Canon is complicated. People are very rarely black and white and Odin isn't an exception to that rule.
There is a reason that him being physically abusive doesn't feel ooc, AND why him trying to be a good parent also doesn't feel ooc. A complicated man, to be sure. I don't really discuss Odin as a character that much, but I do think about him. He and Frigga are fascinating to me.

Ship: Hela Odinsdottir x Agatha Harkness

The moment Agatha enters the apartment she strips.
She's exhausted from today's work, the pointless meetings, the constant need to be diplomatic lest she accidentally spark a war, and all she wants to do now is turn her thoughts off.
Days like today make her wish she never accepted Mother’s ultimatum.
“Rough day?”
Her wife's voice rings out from the kitchen, and Agatha gathers her clothes into her arms.
“I wanna be braindead.” Agatha complains, headed towards the bedroom in order to deposit her clothes into the laundry bin.
“Must've been really rough if you're begging to be fucked stupid like this.”
Agatha turns around and a whine slips out at the sight of her wife leaning against the door frame.
Hela’s wearing loose pants and nothing else, her lean muscles on blatant display, and Agatha feels flushed with heat as she stares at the older woman’s chest with undisguised want.
“Come here, pet.”
Agatha stumbles forward, her head beginning to spin with exhaustion and lust.
Hela runs a gentle hand through her hair and down her back, before she pulls Agatha flush against her body.
“You just want something simple to do, hm? Something easy, something that doesn't require Mistress’s little one to think?”
Agatha whimpers against Hela’s warm skin, her eyes slipping shut as her mind fuzzes.
Her wife’s hands dip low, cupping her ass, and Agatha allows herself to be lifted up, wrapping her legs around Hela's waist.
She takes a deep, slow breath as the goddess starts to walk, burying her face against the crook of Hela’s shoulder, inhaling the mixed scent of fresh linen, and something earthy that's unique to only her wife.
When Hela settles back against the couch cushions, Agatha shifts, curling up within her wife’s embrace, and the low chuckle that emits from the older woman vibrates against her.
Tender fingers gently run across the simple band that rests on Agatha’s forehead, and she can't help how she goes limp with relief when her wife dissolves it into the ether of magic.
Only Hela is permitted to even merely touch the sign of Agatha's right to rule, and it's only Hela who Agatha will ever wholly submit to.
When Hela dips her head down in order to press a kiss against Agatha's lips, her body buzzes, and she feels untethered, adrift in the dark sea of calm that is her wife’s presence.
“There isn't anyone home behind those pretty eyes, is there, pet?” Hela smirks as she pulls away, one of her thumbs tugging down on Agatha's bottom lip, keeping her mouth slightly agape.
When all Agatha can do is whine in response, Hela shakes her head.
“I don't know why you insist on working yourself so hard like this, bunny. Mistress could take over for you. Wouldn't that be nice? To never have to worry about a thing again?”
Hela frequently does this, frequently attempts to use Agatha's need against her, to gain more power.
And the truth is, it would be nice to simply hand over her crown and throne and call it a day, it would be nice to never have to think a thought of her own again.
But Hela, while technically a witch, is not of the people Agatha rules over, and does not have the right blood or magic running through her veins.
Even in her fuzzed out headspace, she's aware enough to shake her head in clear rejection.
Hela huffs, but she's well used to Agatha's refusal, and only pinches the soft skin of her upper arm in a reprimand for not agreeing to her.
Agatha squirms, but doesn't protest.
“Tired.” She manages to get out.
Hela sighs, and then shifts her arms, so that she's cradling Agatha instead of merely holding her.
When her wife guides her head towards a breast, Agatha knows what she wants, and obediently parts her lips as it meets warm flesh, and her eyes flutter closed as she begins to suckle.
It's soothing, and it completely shuts her mind off, and when Hela slides into her with two fingers, she relaxes into the sensation of being completely at Mistress’s mercy.
“There's a good little bunny.”
Mistress's honey-smooth voice sends Agatha further into the empty bliss that's blanketing her mind, and she doesn't need to do anything but bask in the warmth that is Mistress.
All she has to do is let herself be cared for.
She doesn't have to think, she doesn't have to speak, she doesn't have to move.
She only needs to be.
She floats for a long time, finding comfort in the utter emptiness her mind has become, and she's entirely unaware of the passage of time.
It doesn't really matter, it's not something necessary for her to keep track of.
That's what Mistress is for, to take care of her.
Because Agatha is Mistress’s, and Mistress always takes care of her property.
It isn't until Hela is tucking her in that Agatha realizes she's been moved at all.
When she makes a noise of confusion her wife shushes her, soothing a hand over the top of her hair, brushing it back.
“As much as I would like to use your pretty body for myself, you need proper rest more, pet. You really have been working that poor little brain of yours too hard.”
Agatha whines, struggling to move her arms upwards, wanting the warmth of Hela’s body, craving the skin to skin contact.
“Hush, bunny.”
Despite the reprimand, Agatha can feel the bed dip, and then her wife's arms are encircling her, tugging her close, and she sighs with content, her eyes once more slipping shut.
She's lucky, she knows.
Hela may be the only person Agatha will allow to see her vulnerable, but Agatha is the only person Hela ever treats with any sort of tenderness.
In that way, they have marked each other as special.
As equal.
There's a rumble that vibrates from Hela’s chest as she hums a chant softly.
Agatha relaxes, and she falls peacefully asleep to the calming sound.

About your Dislyte head canon, I actually have the same head canon too! Also I like the bit that the gods/monsters can sense each other, I’ve been cackling because of that! Can I ask for some interactions for the Espers and their god/monster? Also that brings another question! Do the Espers talk out loud or telepathic communication, both bring funny opportunities! Especially if only the gods/monsters are the only ones that can sense each other.
The Espers can talk both out loud or telepathically with the source of their powers.
And yes, only the gods/monster can sense one another, so their Espers have no clue while the god in their head pointed at the person in front of them and told them to punch them.
Loki pointing at Catherin (Hela): THAT'S MY DAUGHTER!! LOOK AT MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER!! Triki, used to this at this point: Hi, You are my child now Catherin: ???
Loki the moment Triki meets Jacob (Jörmungandr): *points* Son Triki: You know what, on this we agree
Fabrice (Freyr) at Eira (Freya): You are my little sister now Eira: I mean, I'm not going to complain... but what
Sienna (Gaia) and Tiye (Nut): You are all my children now

Y'know,I don't think TFA Oppi actually that scared of ES megatron because he defeated his megs twice-
NGL imagine the conversation about TFA megs just randomly appears and TFA Oppi be like "Yeah it's not easy to defeat a guy almost thrice your size while have to relying on borrowed hammer and makeshift jetpack-"
Like,he's so small but also so fierce he managed to defeat a warlord he never met before earth shenanigans twice-
And he don't even need a gun-
Not to mention it probably took less than two years to defeat him in TFA timeline
Shame on other decepticons-
This tiny copy of Prime can kick ass better than them probably
Not really scared, just unsure! When all you've ever known is a person being 1 way and get yeeted into a different place where their acutally nice. Its a little bit of weariness just by association. Granted both the times he defeated megs he nearly got killed and lost a team mate, so he's just like "its hard to imagine you any other way. But I see that's not the case." Very much apologizes for his hesitation!
Megatron would be impressed Optimus would be too. Like when Prome explains how big his cons are its like "YOURE INCREDIBLE ,,, WTF?"
I can just see tfa Finials flatten in bit ofa blush and explaining its not just him but alos his team. Megatron would just shake his helm with smile.
"Yeah he sure is you alright, no doubt about it, "
Give TFA confidence and reassurance that he is doing a good job. Not that he ever needed it , but to hear it is very nice. Since in tfa the Functionalists are still in charge (looking at you tfa magnus) To hear that he is more than is alt mode and fiction somthing that these two had to go though, means alot to TFA.
I think ES mega and Optimus would love to elanr things from TFA , amaizng opportunity. I just love the idea of telling his he is doing good. After loosing prowl when trying to beat megs its alot of weight I'd imagine. He won but at what cost ?
Therapy session with the elders.
But TFA Optimus is awesome and I think any Optimus would be impressed.
"HOW BIG ARE THEY?! AND YOU BEAT MEGATRON THAT WAY?! YOURE AMAZING"
Wiggly finials all around xD

( To Hela as Blanc )
"I don't recognize you. Are you a tourist here in Lowee?"
Tumblr media
"Hmmm?" Her wolf ears perked up upon hearing a familiar voice. Was it a familiar voice? Ah, she couldn't remember exactly with how many voices of the slain she had heard in the past, even though she could recognize it as being one of those she had slain in the past.
How she was still able to hear it got an answer the moment she turned to look at the direction that voice came.
"..."
The brunette was still alive and Hela could still remember their fight ended. How the other was alive-- with her head still connected to her body was a mystery to her, but she didn't mind it. One other opponent to potentially take down if a battle broke out.
Tumblr media
"Ah, you're not mistaken...Blanc-- the CPU of Lowee, wasn't it? You could say that I am more of a traveler. Though it's funny...I've met you before, but you can't recognize me."

Ngl I'm legit terrified of what Waititi might have done to Jane Foster. If his idea of a strong female character is exclusively "violent, beautiful women" (Valkryie, Topaz, and Hela) I genuinely fear for the wildly intelligent and delightfully selfish spitfire that is Jane

A/N: I know I sort of disappeared from the face of the earth for the last two months, but I promise I've been working quietly on a few things, including the next chapter of the Power Source AU. I've also been working on editing and fluffing out my debut novel, which I'm hoping to have picked up by a publisher sometime this year, so that's been taking up a lot of my time. But enough about me! Enjoy this little tidbit to tide you over until I finish the next chapter of Power-Hungry!
“Are we gonna talk?”
You looked over to where Hela stood a foot away from you, expression unreadable as she seemed to be putting all of her effort into focusing on the same plate she had been washing for two minutes now. When she still said nothing in response, you nodded to yourself, popping the lid of the Tupperware over your leftovers and turning around to place them in the fridge.
“Guess not.”
You weren’t entirely sure what had gone wrong while you had been out for dinner and some drinks with a few mutual friends. You didn’t know if it was something someone had said, or something someone had done that you hadn’t noticed, but Hela had seemed to get defensive and closed off about halfway through the meal, which wasn’t exactly a rare occurrence for her, but it was one that always raised concern when you picked up on it. You had hoped on the drive home she would say something, and when that hadn’t happened, you’d held out for an explanation once you’d gotten back to the comfort of your own home, and yet here you were, still without answers.
Communication was something that you held with high importance, especially when it came to relationships and the people you loved. You’d had some… less than great experience with partners in the past, which had lead you to be skittish and constantly worried that if you said or did the wrong thing without realizing it, you would be punished for it. It was an awfully horrible way to live, and once you’d managed to get away from it, you’d sworn you would never let that lack of communication back into your life again.
Which was exactly why you were determined to get Hela to talk about what had happened, so you could understand her better and help her process whatever it was that had set her on edge.
“Look,” you finally said, closing the refrigerator door and leaning on it as you angled yourself to face where Hela was standing. “I don’t know what bothered you, and I’m really sorry that I didn’t catch it. But I can’t help you process it if you don’t tell me what happened.”
To your surprise, Hela huffed out a laugh. “This again.”
You blinked. “…I’m sorry?”
“This. You. Always needing to know everything. It’s a bit overdramatic, don’t you think?”
You stammered as you tried to work out where she was coming from, and unfortunately, your anger got the better of you, and you spoke before you could properly think. “I’m overdramatic? I’m just trying to get you to talk about what happened so that we can work through it together and-”
“It’s none of your business,” Hela snapped, finally setting the dish down in the drying rack with enough force that the sound startled you, and turned around to face you. “You’re never giving me the space to process my emotions on my own, and it was kinda cute at first, but now it just feels like you need to know everything and I’m tired of it.”
“Hela…” This was not where you had seen the conversation going, and your anger was giving way to the overwhelming feeling that you had just fucked up the only good thing in your life. “I just-”
“Just what? Hm? I’m allowed to have things that I keep to myself, Y/N. I’m allowed to process and feel my emotions on my own.”
“I’m not saying that you can’t, I just want to help.”
“And I’m saying I don’t need it!” Hela raised her hands above her head in what you, reasonably, knew was just a show of frustration. But all of the sudden, you found yourself traveling back to a time when saying the wrong thing had earned you a verbal berating when you were lucky, and a physical reminder when you weren’t. And like a horribly unfair magic tragic, suddenly you were the scared, anxious person afraid to speak or even breathe around the person that was supposed to love you.
And you reacted the same way you had reacted back then. You stumbled backward, putting what distance you could been yourself and Hela, and you could tell that she recognized her mistake immediately as she froze, gaze softening with worry and regret as she took in the state of you.
“Y/N… Y/N, I-I…” She stumbled over her words, and reached a hand out for you, then seemed to think better of it and let it fall to her side. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, and you thought your heart might stop right in your chest as you waited for whatever came next.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry.” Hela’s voice was hardly above a whisper, and when she opened her eyes, you could see that they were wet with tears. “I shouldn’t have raised my voice, and I shouldn’t have frightened you like that.” She took another slow breath, and gestured toward the living room. “…let’s sit and talk. About this and about earlier.”
You could still feel your body tense with high alert, but you made yourself nod, waiting for Hela to move first before you followed after her, keeping some space between you as you sat down on the sofa with her.
“I shouldn’t have gone off on you like that. You were only trying to help, and I know that. I just…” She heaved a sigh that felt so vulnerable that you felt yourself relaxing the slightest bit. “I don’t know how to accept help. I never have.”
You waited a beat, in case she wasn’t finished speaking, but when she said nothing else, you nodded slowly. “…I know that. I shouldn’t have pushed. You’ve… always come to me, when you’ve needed to. And you would have done the same tonight, too. Realistically, I know that. I just…” You heaved a sigh, wrapping your arms more tightly around yourself just because it was the best way you knew to self-soothe when you were actively struggling with your fight or flight response. “Like I said, I want to help. And I can’t stand seeing you when you’re upset, and… and knowing you’re upset but not knowing why or how to help you not be upset.”
You risked a brief glance at her, and found that she had completely softened, no longer looking quite so standoffish, and while you were grateful for that, your brain and your nerves were still on high alert. Another wonderful parting gift from your ex, to put it mildly.
“I know. And I wish that I wasn’t so… averse to accepting help. But I need you to know that I’m working on it. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, I am.” She met your gaze, then, eyebrows knitting together with worry as she looked at you. “You do know that. Yes?”
You heaved out a quiet sigh and nodded slightly. “Of course I do. And I’m proud of you for trying.”
Hela nodded, and seemed to relax a fraction of a bit more, and you tried to do the same, but couldn’t help the way your heart was still racing. Like your brain was convinced you weren’t out of the woods yet even as your emotions wanted desperately to settle. Hela seemed keenly aware of the war that was going on in your head, though, and hesitantly reached out a hand to settle against your arm.
“I want to apologize, too, for what happened in the kitchen. I knew better than to make a sudden, angry movement like that. I knew better and you deserved better. And I’m sorry that I made you feel like you were back in that situation.”
You shrugged a shoulder, only because that was all you could think to do, despite knowing that things were certainly not okay enough to garner a simple shoulder shrug in response. Hela saw right through this, as well, and shook her head.
“No, no. No appeasing me. No trying to tell me its fine. Your brain has just been teleported back to a time where you felt extremely unsafe. But you’re not there. You’re not then. You’re here and you’re now and you’re with me, and I need you to tell me truthfully what you need to ground yourself.” A pause, as her fingertips trailed down to settle at your wrist hesitantly. “…can I hold your hand? Would that be okay?”
After a brief moment, you gave a nod, and Hela gently took both of your hands into her own, cradling them but not gripping them, so that you had the option to remove them if you felt the need. Autonomy. Something you hadn’t had much of, before.
“What else, my love? Should I keep talking you through it? Sing off-key?” Hela was trying to get you to smile, and that earned her the barest ghost of one. “Cuddles in silence?”
You hesitated at that, and then nodded, letting Hela carefully envelope you in her arms and pull you into her lap. Even as she held you, her arms were loose around you. Not even fully encircling you, giving you an out if you needed one. It made you feel safe in a way that you hadn’t known, before you’d met her.
You could feel yourself relaxing more and more, and the more you settled, the more lovey Hela became with you, pressing the occasional kiss to your forehead or carding her fingers through your hair softly as she held you, letting you come back to yourself at your own pace.
After a while, you were feeling much more present, and much less trapped in your own head, and you glanced up at her, expecting her to be already looking at you but her gaze seemed a little distant, transfixed on some point across the room.
“…you never said what upset you. At dinner,” you pointed out timidly, a small part of you still afraid that bringing it up again might cause another round of arguments.
But Hela only pressed her lips together and shook her head as she looked down at you. “You know, I can’t even remember anymore. Must have been something small and superfluous. Fleeting.”
You considered that for a moment, analyzing her to tell if she was being truthful. When you were satisfied that she was, you spoke again. “And you’re not… mad at me? For…”
“Of course not.” Hela cut you off before you could even finish the sentence. “And I’m sorry that I made you feel that way. I spoke out of anger and frustration, and you didn’t deserve that in the least. Not now, not ever.”
You nodded, and laid your head against her shoulder, making yourself comfortable as you felt the tension melting away further bit by bit. “…can we watch something on Netflix? Your pick?”
“Of course we can, my love.” Hela smiled softly, and pressed another kiss to the top of your head. “Of course we can.”

Do you have any theories as to why Thor describes himself and Loki as both being eight in that snake story? That line always takes me out. I can't make it make sense. Thanks.
I really only have the one: Loki and Thor were raised as twins.
And the WAY that Frigga and Odin got away with THAT is. Ha.
I've got two ideas, (both of which I want to explore in more detail in a fic at some point):
Jotuns age a little faster than Asgardians, so Loki being 1053 is the same as being 1500 as an Aesir. Odin then lied to Loki about his actual birth date until Thor 1 and raised them as twins, Loki being the younger, but it was fine because BIOLOCIALLY they were about the same age anyway so the discrepancy was fine.
If this is what happened, then the Jotun/Asgardian war was about 400 years long and Thor and Frigga were hidden that entire time so Frigga could BS her way through a "Yes it was twins" without too much trouble. Who's going to counter it? The servants attending Frigga were sworn to secrecy and Loki was hidden from the public until he and Thor looked enough of the same age that it was passable. They blamed Loki's lack of public appearance on sickness instead of literal house arrest.
Could potentially explain why Loki feels perpetually locked up, because even if Loki was young, being hidden away as a kid constantly would be something that would impact you as an adult. Also give him major trust issues about his memories.
OR.
(and this is the one that I find much worse personally), but Loki and Thor were raised as twins. Loki does not age differently than Aesir. He is the equivalent of about 17-20 in Thor 1 and Thor is 20-24. Loki is told he is 20-24 and assumes that this must be true because it's not like he remembers to dispute it. Loki does not know that he is significantly biologically younger than Thor.
Again, Loki is kept from the public until he looks old enough to pass as Thor's twin brother, if sickly, and Asgard accepts this as fact.
Thor 1 happens. Loki then learns that he's Laufey's son and does some rapid math. He is not Thor's twin brother. In fact, he is about 400 years younger than he was told. If Loki and Thor were raised as twins, it would make them competing for the throne make a little more sense and Frigga and Odin hiding this from him just that much worse.
Anyway, so the point is that Thor doesn't always remember that, oh yeah, we are, uh, not the same age because he grew up with that habit and just said that because for most of their life, Thor and Loki thought they were the same age anyway.
----
That said, the ACTUAL reason this is in the movie is because:

But this age discrepancy actually isn't Chris Hemsworth's fault, amazingly. To my knowledge, Loki and Thor were not actually confirmed to have any gap between them throughout the Thor films. That was something we as an audience just inferred. In fact, I've seen people do 1 year and 2 and 3. I typically do 4, to match the centuries between them. So like, it's kind of an iffy thing to begin with.
INFINTY WAR is actually where the inconsistencies start. Thor says "you know, I'm 1500 years old..." and then the entire audience is scrambling for an explanation. This is also the first movie that Hela is said to be Thor's half-sister. (As far as Ragnarok is concerned, from what I can remember, it has been a minute, she and Thor are full-blood siblings.)
The infinity War writers apparently didn't double-check any of this against Ragnarok, which is vaguely funny to me given that Infinity War opens with the aftermath of Ragnarok.
So the story's ages actually work perfectly fine in Ragnarok. It's after you watch Infinity War that things start to backpedal. Which fun fact, I joined MCU in like June of 2017 or something, so by the time I actually got around to writing fic and thinking about this, Infinity War had already come out so I just assumed that the lack of an age gap was ignorance on Ragnarok's fault. But Loki and Thor being twins makes the most sense to me, not just with Ragnarok, but a lot of other things add up in that direction as well.
(but i cannot trust MCU to stick to basic facts like how old a character is. Wanda has had the same problem, where they bumped up her age by 5-6 years for WandaVision (and retconned her and Pietro's origin story ). And Natasha. and Steve. And Bucky and-- oh my gosh someone please just write this down for the writers)
