#I JUST LOVE THE IDEA OF RAVENCLAW WEI WUXIAN
Text
Hogwarts AU and MDZS
In a Hogwarts AU, I like to think that Wei Wuxian would base his House on the outcome of Jiang Cheng’s sorting. He’d argue with the sorting hat all morning if he has to
If both Jiang Cheng and him were in the same House, Yu Ziyuan would definitely hate him more if he outshone Jiang Cheng in any way— she’d even give her son more shit because of that. More so if in they’re in the same House
And knowing Wei Wuxian? Effortlessly brilliant and charming Wei Wuxian with his sunny smiles and fucking smarts?
He may be obnoxious and arrogant at times, but no one can deny that Wei Wuxian is a genius who managed to climb ranks despite not being a Pureblood and just a servant’s son
So, no. Not the same House as Jiang Cheng, even if he’d like to be with his not-brother. Also, not in Jiang Fengmian’s previous House too. Especially when Jiang Cheng was not sorted in that House
Jiang Fengmian happy with Wei Wuxian = Seething Madam Yu, and most likely jealousy and self-deprication from Jiang Cheng poor A-Cheng, whatever he does is not enough
If we’re going by the usual Houses (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin), Jiang Fengmian would either be Hufflepuff or Gryffindor. He doesn’t strike me as a Ravenclaw, and he lacks the ambition to be Slytherin
Yu Ziyuan is Slytherin for sure since she’s full of ambition with enough will and conviction to do whatever it takes to secure her goals
Ravenclaw is what I think Wei Wuxian would choose. It’s the House where his talents and mind can be appreciated, even if he gives people heart attacks and pure rage with some of his outrageous suggestions. It’s also the House where he thinks he can do the least damage to the relationship of Jiangs
Why I like the idea of Wei Wuxian choosing Ravenclaw
I just like the idea of Wei Wuxian finding people he can have debates and intellectual conversations with on various fields of interest in Ravenclaw. I love the idea of people not dismissing his thoughts and rants as the ramblings of the fool he portrays.
I would love to read about people contemplating said ideas and people engaging with him
His rambles on resentful energy and the possible applications of it as a cultivation technique or whatever? Someone is already taking notes on that secretly, and is already thinking on ways on how to approach him on the subject
Wei-xiong, I heard about what happened this morning with Lan Qiren. Say, do you think we could collaborate on this project of mine? I’ve been researching on it since sophomore, and I finally found someone to talk with!
His cooking being used as medicine or a weapon because of how spicy it is?
You know, maybe Wen-guniang can make some medicine or something out of this. Aside from a burnt tongue and burning— ah... Your cooking could be helpful in making people sweat more!
I just love the idea of people being openly admiring and appreciating Wei Wuxian for his smarts. Bonus points since it makes him flustered because he didn’t expect that there are people who actually listen to him and acknowledge him
Why I like the idea of Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng in different Houses
Okay look. Jiang Cheng has always been compared to Wei Wuxian ever since he was small— they have been constantly pitted against each other by Madam Yu, and his own father is more openly affectionate with Wei Wuxian than with him
Growing up with a sibling who you’re constantly being compared with, and thinking that your best efforts would never be enough hurts like hell. It would be for the best if Jiang Cheng was given the time and space to grow without being in Wei Wuxian’s shadow
I do think that Jiang Cheng would like to have Wei Wuxian with him in the same House, and I do think that he’d be upset if they weren’t in the same House
It would also be a breath of fresh air for him though, and a chance to make a name for himself in his House without the threat of having to compete with Wei Wuxian even if Wei Wuxian didn’t take it seriously
Besides, it’s not like they can’t visit each other from time to time— it’s not as if some measley curfew could stop them from sneaking out off Hogwarts in the middle of the night. They wouldn’t even let the school policy stop them from going to each other’s or to their sister’s table to eat together
This are all just my ramblings 😅✌️ If anyone has any fic recommendations on Ravenclaw!WWX, and Different Housemates! Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng— then please tell me ✌️

The Untamed x Harry Potter
I just had a silly idea for an Untamed x Harry Potter crossover fic that I am never going to write, but I wanted to at least put the basic idea out into the universe:
HP 8th year and Hogwarts is having trouble finding Professors and they want to broaden the students’ horizons anyway so McGonagall hires two visiting professors from China: Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan
WWX and LZ are still alive of course because they are immortal and they’ve been studying all kinds of different magic from around the world (and languages, so they’re fluent in English), so they’re like, why not? When they arrive, they hear about Voldemort doing all kinds of evil to become immortal and they’re like ??? why didn’t he just train his golden core if he had one? And wwx is like “what a rookie mistake, I can’t believe he split his golden core on purpose.”
Anyway WWX becomes the temporary head of Gryffindor house because even though he didn’t go to Hogwarts the sorting hat is like “this man is the biggest Gryffindor I have ever seen” (lwj is a Ravenclaw) and he takes a liking to Harry because he relates to being (in)famous.
Harry meanwhile watches his new bff/teacher wwx with his husband and is like “Oh that’s nice. Hm. That’s.... really nice. I think I want that???” and gets great advice from both wwx and lwj throughout the year as he slowly realizes he is in love with Draco Malfoy. (Lan Zhan to Harry: “I knew I was in love with Wei Ying because he annoyed me more than anyone I had ever met. We are very happy. Mn.”
Anyway idk what else the plot would be but I think it would be really cool to try to integrate the two magical systems together so that they’re from the same universe. Like cultivation is the Chinese medicine of the magical world, and all the Westerners kind of dismiss it as superstition/myth, and meanwhile the cultivators are over here actually being immortal and the most powerful magic-users in the whole world.
And every time lwj and wwx do demos in the new “cultivation” class all the students are just sitting there, mouth agape, like what the actual fuck how is this possible???? Hermione almost passes out from excitement pretty much every week.
Oh, and Wei Wuxian (who has thoroughly cultivated mxy’s core, by the way) teaches Neville how to properly use a sword.

Once you're done with the entire show, could you maybe do sorting for all the characters? I usually know the house for each character, but I have literally no idea with The Untamed. WWX for example I can equally see him as a Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff and my brain hurts trying to decide.
First of all: I'm so so sorry anon! This took ages to answer! I hope you're still out there to read this! I started answering ages ago and then trailed off because I had to think about it. So here goes:
Thank you so much for this opening! I LOVE sorting non-HP characters into Hogwarts houses!! And for some of these, I’ve already done so in my head ages ago :D
Disclaimer: I’m mostly going off live action canon here, but will make some comments about the novel from time to time.
Disclaimer 2: Obviously, these are extremely subjective. If anyone disagrees, I would love to hear your counter arguments! I love discussing these things!
Wei Wuxian
GRYFFINDOR!
I know you said you weren’t sure but in my book, he’s a textbook Gryffindor. I’m not saying he doesn’t have Hufflepuff or Raveclaw traits (his sense of justice and his “out of the box thinking” kinda genius come to mind), but those aren’t the main drive of his actions imo. WWX follows his confiction and he often does so without even considering a second option or a compromise, especially before his death. And he is not afraid of deviating from the law or societal expectations to do so. This alone could also make him a Slytherin. The reason I wouldn’t place him there is the way he acts very much in the open. He doesn’t try to bring about change by quietly working in the background. He openly calls people out on their bullshit, even when it is clearly to his disadvantage and might just come back to bite him in the ass. Imo, WWX is a brilliant example of how a gryffindor might be driven to doing some very questionable shit given the "right" circumstances.
Lan Wangji
Now, he’s a different story. I have a lot more problems sorting him, maybe because he is not our point of view character. And he's the reason why it took me so long to answer this ask. My conclusion might be controversial, so let me work up to it. Slytherin? His most slytherin trait, imo, is his determination and drive, which I think stems, among other things, from a desire to prove himself. However, I believe his main reasons for this were family loyalty and (somewhat headcanon territory) the rejection he must have felt at his parents absence. And I don't see him as cunning either, as that always carries a certain level of deceitful intent, even if it's not malicious. And deceitful? That's one thing lwj certainly isn't. So, Slytherin is not a good fit for him. Ravenclaw maybe? He is certainly very intelligent, but that intelligence is more due to his studious nature and his focus, imo. And wisdom and out-of-the-box-thinking are not traits I would associate him with, especially in his younger years. So gryffindor then? He is certainly brave in many ways. He is enduring and stubborn, both gryffindor traits. But he also someone who takes his time to arrive at decisions, unless he is under extreme emotional duress (losing his mother or the love of his live). His bravery, to me, seems to be deeply rooted in his deep deep devotion. He goes through extreme, long lasting pain for the few people he holds close to his heart. In the end it all comes down to his heart, his loyalties, his devotion. Ironically, even more so in the book than in cql. And that loyalty, that steadfastness, that devotion is extremely hufflepuff.
So here you go:
HUFFLEPUFF! (There is no yellow:/)
(And now I really wanna write that AU :D on first glance, lwj would make such an unusual hufflepuff, with his cold and aloof behaviour. I want to play with this idea now!)
Lan Xichen
HUFFLEPUFF!
Aaaahhh! Now I really like the idea of the twin jades of hufflepuff. :D and Lan Xichen is a bit more obvious right? He certainly has the intelligence of a ravenclaw, but his defining characteristics are his devotion to his duty, his kindness, his fairness and his willingness to carefully consider all sides. A hufflepuff to boot. No wonder, I love him so much.
(And now I can't help but imagine lan Xichen, welcoming his little brother at the hufflepuff table, beaming with pride. And later, making sure that they eat at least 1 meal per day together because he knows his brother doesn't make friends easily, even in a house as theirs. Until there's a certain rebellious and bright eyed gryffindor, with a penchant for DADA ...)
Jiang Cheng
He, too, gave me a hard time sorting him. Ravenclaw, I discarded immediately. Gryffindor came next. He's definitely brave in his own way. Going on after the devastating loss of his entire family is brave beyond anything I can imagine, but his motivation why he did it, I believe, was a mixture of family loyalty and his competitiveness and drive to prove himself worthy. Thise are hufflepuff and Slytherin traits, respectively. I would tip the scale towards the latter, simply because his inner conflict is so defined by his feelings of inferiority, his feelings of never living up to his parents expectations. He's in that weird place of being both extremely privileged and emotionally neglected. It reminds me of Draco, come to think of it. So, my favourite angry grape, I'll place in ...
SLYTHERIN!
(He's even rockin' the snake aesthetic already :D)
Jiang Yanli
With her association with cooking and motherly love she seems to be a rather obvious hufflepuff. She is certainly brave, too, enduring her family's near destruction and moving on, or standing in front of her adoptive brother and defending his place in her family and in society. But again, it's very much tied to the people she loves. So yeah,
HUFFLEPUFF!
Nie Mingjue
The jock to end all jocks and still he's got a heart of gold. He's kinda the cliche gryffindor and I can't find a reason to not place him there. So *head barely touches him*
GRYFFINDOR!
Nie Huaisang
SLYTHERIN!
If the twist at the end didn't happen, I'd have placed him in Ravenclaw, as it is, he is such a quintessential Slytherin and also, just ... my favourite kind, especially in cql, where he just fuvjs off to paint his fans and leaves others to do the heavy lifting. He got what he wanted, revenge for his beloved older brother. It reminds me a bit of Horace Slughorn (minus the people collecting). He doesn't want to be at the top. He just wants a comfortable enough life and the possibility to reach his very specific and not at all mainstream goals. A legend. (In mdzs, where he becomes chief cultivator, he's still a Slytherin, albeit a slightly less interesting one.)
Wen Qing
Now, she is another hard one. Another fiercely loyal person (although that's a common trait in mdzs/cql), she also had to show incredible resourcefulness to survive and still stick to her principles throughout her life. But to mention that she invented and su subsequently performed the first core transfer in history. (In the book, it is specifically mentioned that the essay on this subject was written by her). In short, this woman is s genius in her field and forward thinking and incentive. All of those are textbook Ravenclaw traits. So, with her we have ...
RAVENCLAW!
Wen Ning
Puh, he is hard. I know, with his timid behaviour and gentle nature, hufflepuff comes to mind BUT ... he strikes me as a neville. As in, his bravery lies in the fact that his own insecurities hinder him constantly and yet he overcomes them every day in a hundred small ways. He is brave precisely because he is afraid of so many things. And, like Neville, when his sense if right and wrong demands it, he takes a stand. His rescue of wwx and jc extremely dangerous circumstances and the core reveal come to mind. So, even though he probably argues with the hat to place him in hufflepuff, I'll place him in ...
GRYFFINDOR!
Jin Guangyao
SLYTHERIN!
Do I have to explain this?
Luo Qingyang
I know, she's a much more minor character than the others but I love her and this is my post, so she's in it. Do i have to say it? I hate to be the "Gryffindors ftw!!!"-one (as a proud snake), but yeah, Nie Mingjue was goddamn right when he said that she's got more backbone than half the cultivation world combined. My queen snapped and removed herself from the narrative and I love her for it!
GRYFFINDOR!
Let's get to the juniors:
Lan Sizhui
Now, maybe the hufflepuff does run in his family because I do think he belongs there, too. His defining characteristics are shown to be kindness, fairness and filial piety, even though he also has a mischievous streak and does not shy away from confrontation when he thinks his warranted (politely defending "Mo Xuanyu" in front of the Mo clan comes to mind). So yeah
HUFFLEPUFF!
Lan Jingyi
His brash and outgoing nature would make him a good gryffindor fit, certainly. However, the trait I associate with him the most is his nonconformity and that in a sect where that is highly unusual. He might not be as much of a social butterfly as Luba, but he still reminds me more of the kind of eccentricity associated with ...
RAVENCLAW!
Jin Ling
Now he's hard. Maybe because he postures a lot though that's something that's true for a lot of these characters. He tries to imitate his uncle but has non of the trauma to back it up, though he is an orphan and,in his position, probably pretty lonely which leads to the kind of breakdown we see him having over his confrontation with the person who killed his parents and he can't even really blame and so he just... crumbles. And non of that really helps me in my search for a house for him. I don't really see him as a Slytherin because while he loves to posture and play his privileges, he mostly crumbles under pressure and I don't think there's conviction behind it. He's certainly not sly either. Rabenclaw? Nah. I see neither outstanding amounts of eccentricity or wisdom. Gryffindor? Maybe. He's certainly impulsive. And he displayed bravery both in Yi City and even more so in the Guanyin temple where he had to face the fact that one of his uncles, the men who raised him, would kill him to achieve his goals. Still, what left the biggest impression on me was how, after his own world had just completely changed, he send his dog away because wwx would fear him. And how he then tried to get his uncle to talk to wwx. So I'd tentatively go with
HUFFLEPUFF!
Ouyang Zizhen
Another hard one because we don't know him very well in canon. But what we do know is that he is very emotional (passionate one might say) and has no qualms going against his father in a fit of teenage rebellion. I love him for it but that's not that much to go on. Both of these point to gryffindor however, so that's where he goes. :D
GRYFFINDOR!
So ... that's where I'll leave it. I know I missed the Yi city arc but it's getting late and I'm tired. 😅 If anyone wants to add them, feel free!
Congrats of you've made it this far down! :D
Please, do come and discuss these with me!

Chili Peppers, Lotus Flowers, and Giant Squid Ink
Fandom: The Untamed & MDZS / Pairing: WangXian / Rating: T
Wei Wuxian wanted to kill whoever decided to have Advanced Potions at eight in the morning. Because of them he was not only late to class, but also made him blurt out what amortentia smelled like. While he was standing next to to Lan Wangji, his best friend. Who also happened to smell just like the amortentia. But he totally couldn't be attracted to his best friend.
Right?
Read it on AO3
Wei Wuxian swore as he reached out to grab a pillar to bank around the corner without slowing his running. He held his red ribbon in his mouth as he tried to comb through the mess that was his long black hair with his hands. As he slid down the banister he gave up, settling for tying it up messily with the ribbon.
He practically launched himself down the staircase to the dungeons. Like diving off his broomstick, he tucked his head and rolled to his feet and continued barreling forward. He cursed whoever decided to make Advanced Potions at eight in the morning. Gryffindors lived in a bloody tower! How were they supposed to get there on time?
He barreled into the potions classroom, his chest heaving as he came to a stop. He pitched forward bracing his hands on his knees. He’d have to suggest this run to Jiang Cheng for the Quidditch team.
“Mr. Wei, how nice of you to join us,” Wen Qing’s voice broke through the quiet of the classroom. Wuxian lifted his head, giving a nod and a wave. The rest of the class was gathered around her table, a cauldron bubbling happily away on it. He was too far away to see what was in it.
“I overslept,” He offered as an apology. “Then the staircases shifted, and-”
“I rather not have your excuses distract from class time, 5 points for tardiness.” Wen Qing replied tersely. Wuxian nodded sheepishly as he plopped his bag down at his spot and moved to join the rest of the class.
Wen Qing was the youngest Potion’s Master in Hogwarts history, having graduated only a few years prior. She’d quickly shot down any ideas about special treatment to those who knew her as a student. In Wuxian’s case, having a teacher who knew he brewed a polyjuice potion in second year was a personal hell. He still had cramps from the last paper she demanded he redo, with the order to ‘write it properly this time’.
Wuxian grinned as he saw an open spot. He tugged lightly on the back of the Ravenclaw robe as he slid next to its owner. A pair of annoyed golden eyes slid to him, Wuxian’s own silver orbs winked in return.
“Lan Zhan, you really overdid it with the incense burning this morning.” He teased, his nostrils filled with the sandalwood scent lingering in the air. Usually, it was only trace amounts drifting off of Lan Wangji. Wangji wondered how much he had to burn to make it so strong.
Not that he was complaining.
“I did not burn incense this morning,” Wangji replied, his gaze focused on Wen Qing in front of him. Wuxian’s brow furrowed in confusion, why were Wangji’s ears bright red? They only did that when he was embarrassed.
“Wuxian, since you’re volunteering why don’t you tell us what else you smell?” Wen Qing smiled. Wuxian paused, was she hiding a laugh? He threw a glance around the class, seeing Jiang Cheng with his face in his hands.
Confused, Wuxian took a deep breath. The sandalwood was still there, but now he was picking up on two other scents. The first was loquats, but what was that final one?
“Sandalwood, loquats,” Wuxian paused trying to put a name to the final scent. He bounced in place as he tried to figure it out. “Fresh parchment and ink at the Library!” He named it, although seemed oddly specific. “Did I get it right? I don’t think I know any potions that smell like that.”
“We’re studying amortentia, idiot!” Jiang Cheng hissed from beside him.
Wuxian felt his blood freeze.
“Amortentia?” He almost stuttered.
“Yes,” Wen Qing nodded. “As Mr. Wei has shown, the unique trait of the Amortentia potion is the scent changes from person to person based on what they find attractive.”
Wuxian’s mind numbly tuned out Wen Qing as she continued her lecture. His mind connecting memories to all of the scents. The incense he burned during meditation that clung to his clothes. The loquats he pretended not to enjoy when Wuxian stole them from the kitchens. The scent of line writing detentions that morphed into study sessions. All of those scents traced back to Wangji.
Attracted?
The word bounced around Wuxian’s head. Lan Wangji was his friend, just his friend. Right? It wasn’t like he hated it when he didn’t see him for more than a day. Or that he was filled with a happy warmth whenever he saw him. He teased and flirted with him because it was cute to see him react.
Did he say cute?
Cute, his mind repeated. Cute, like the way his ears turned red when he was embarrassed. The aggravated tick of his eyebrows. The way he vocalized his exasperation with a small huff. The tender upturning of his lips when he smiled. Would they be soft if he kissed him?  Wuxian felt heat flood into his body.
He was in love with Lan Wangji.
He was in love with his best friend.
“Wei Ying?” Wangji’s voice questioned. Wuxian let out a squeak as his eyes focused on the face before him. The golden orbs and those lips so close. Wuxian stared at his lips for a moment, before he realized what he was doing and nervously pulled his eyes away.  “We’re moving on to potion making.”
“I-” Wuxian stammered. “I need to go.”
Before anyone could say anything Wei Wuxian was fleeing. He made it out of the dungeons before he slumped against a wall, running his hands through his hair. He couldn’t be in love with Wangji! It would ruin everything. It would mean the end of their late night study sessions, the visits to the illegal colony of rabbits they accidently started, their one-on-one quidditch matches. Everything he loved about their friendship, ruined by his stupid emotions.
After all it was obvious Lan Wangji didn’t like him back. They’d known each other for six years. Wangji might take awhile to get to know, but even Wangji would have made a move by now. He didn’t know what was worse, realizing he liked Wangji or that he didn’t like him back.
He needed to talk to shijie.
Pushing himself off the wall, he was crawling off to his favorite hiding place. After Jiang Cheng had found out he used the Boathouse as a hiding place, Wuxian had been on the lookout for a new one. He wasn’t sure how, or why, a classroom on the fifth floor was slowly being overtaken by a magical pond. But when he stumbled into it while dodging a night patrol, he wasn’t going to look a gift horse in the mouth. With a quick disillusionment charm, the room was Wuxian’s own little secret.
Wuxian moved quickly, careful to avoid any teachers, or prefects, that would know he should be in class. Before he knew it, he was sliding off his shoes and his socks and feeling grass beneath his feet. As he let his toes squeeze what felt like real ground, he wondered if it was real. He made a note to ask Wangji about it.
The idea made the reason Wuxian was hiding come crashing back to the front of his mind. He took a moment to roll up his pant legs, setting his feet adrift in the water. With a sigh, he dug in his robes producing a small mirror. He rubbed his thumb over its surface and in a manner of moments Jiang Yanli’s face was smiling back at him.
“A-Xian, shouldn’t you be in class?” She greeted him. He watched her face fall slightly as his own face came into focus. “Is everything alright?”
“No,” Wuxian shook his head. He could feel tears welling up in his eyes. “Shijie, I messed up.”
“Did a prank go wrong?” Yanli questioned her eyes widening. “Are you hurt?”
“No, not a prank.” Wuxian shook his head. “We studied amortentia today. I was late, so I blurted out what I smelt in front of everyone.”
“I’ve never known you to be embarrassed,” Yanli hummed in reply. “Was the scent distinctive?”
“It’s Lan Zhan,” Wuxian replied, wiping at his face. “I’m in love with Lan Zhan. I just blurted it out in front of him and everyone else.”
“A-Xian,” Yanli laughed.
“It’s not funny shijie,” Wuxian whined. “We’ve known each other for six years, if he liked me he would have made a move by now. Now he knows that my stupid love potion smells exactly like him! I’m going to be stuck staring at his stupid gorgeous face and thinking about how I want to kiss him and it’ll ruin our friendship! Our bunnies will be parentless.”
“A-Xian,” Yanli interrupted him. “Have you talked to Wangji about this?”
“No,” Wuxian replied. “But I know Lan Zhan, I would have noticed.”
“You would have noticed,” Yanli replied, a smile playing on her lips.
“I’m glad you find my pain funny,” Wuxian sniffed. He saw Yanli roll her eyes, a hand coming up as if she was trying to tuck some of Wuxian’s hair behind his ear. He subconsciously did it for her.
“A-Xian, who brought you soup and stayed with you for three days when you got sick after swallowing the ink after you startled the giant squid?” Yanli questioned with a raised eyebrow.
“Lan Zhan,” Wuxian sniffed in reply.
“Who sneaks you sugar quills in class?” Yanli continued. “Who helped you free the rabbits from the transfiguration room and relocated them to your ‘illegal colony’? Or who willingly stands by with healing charms when you practice new quidditch moves?”
“Shijie, that’s because we’re friends.”
“So he does that with all of his friends?” Yanli questioned raising an eyebrow. “Talk to him A-Xian.”
“But-”
“No buts,” Yanli shook her head. “Don’t call me back until you talk to him.”
Wuxian watched his sister cut the mirror’s transmission with an open mouth. He groaned as he fell back against the grass. Yanli was supposed to reassure him, to tell him everything would work out. She wasn’t supposed to confuse him further. Afterall, Wangji had done those things because they’re friends, hadn’t he?
Wuxian let out a growl of frustration as he pressed his hands over his eyes. Why did he have to fall in love with his best friend? He flirted with dozens of people, granted none of them were as pretty as Lan Zhan, but falling in love with one of them wouldn’t ruin his life. Wuxian let his feet flail in the water, feeling water hit him from the splashes.
“You can do this,” Wuxian rallied himself. “You’ve hung out with Lan Zhan every day for like 4 years. I mean this attraction didn’t happen overnight, I just know it’s there now.” He muttered to himself. “We can just bottle it up and nothing has to change.”
Wuxian was drug out of his internal, and external, monologue by the feeling of something warm on his chest. He lifted his hands off his eyes, tilting his head to see a silver rabbit on his chest.
“Hello there,” Wuxian greeted. “Whose patronus might you be?” Wuxian hummed as he reached out. He pouted as his hand passed through the patronus. “Guess that solves my question about being able to pet a patronus. I know, I’ll give you someone to play with!”
The rabbit hopped off his chest as he sat up. He dug around in his robes, quickly producing his own wand. With a flick, his own silver rabbit was hopping around. He propped his elbow on his knee, setting his chin on it to watch the two rabbits bounce around. His rabbit was definitely more lively with the other one. As he watched it hop circles around the other, he wondered if it was bothering the other rabbit.
“Wei Ying.”
Wuxian jumped, turning to see Wangji standing at the edge of the grown grass. He felt his brain freeze. He had charms up. This was supposed to be his hiding place! He wasn’t ready for this conversation yet.
“Lan Zhan,” Wuxian nervously smiled. He felt his face flush as he turned back to the rabbits, pulling his knees to his chest. The patronus that wasn’t his came bounding back over to him. It nuzzled against his hand, sending an odd warmth through it as passed through it. Once it was done, it was hopping over to Lan Zhan.
“Mn,” Wangji hummed to it. With a flick of his wand the rabbit was gone.
“Lan Zhan, is that your patronus?” Wuxian questioned wide eyed. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen it’s corporeal form before.”
“Mn,” Wangji nodded, moving to sit next to him. Wuxian’s own rabbit came bounding up to him, hopping in circles around them.
“Sorry,” Wuxian laughed dismissing his own patronus. “I guess he’s a bit annoying like me.”
“Not annoying,” Wangji replied. Wuxian looked over when he heard him pulling something out of his robes. He couldn’t help but smile when he pulled out a sugar quill and offered it to him.
“Ah, Lan Zhan,” Wuxian grinned, taking it. “You must like sugar quills as much as I do, you always seem to have one on you.”
“You like them,” Wangji replied.
“I think we’ve already established that,” Wuxian chuckled as he sucked absentmindedly at the tip of it.
“I carry them because you like them,” Wangji restated.
“Ah?” Wuxian turned to him. “Do you really not like them?”
“I prefer loquats,” Wangji replied.
“Ah, Lan Zhan, don't remind me.” Wuxian flushed clutching his knees to his chest. He wished this conversation wasn’t happening right now. “I’m embarrassed enough.”
“Chili peppers, lotus flowers and Great Squid Ink.” Wangji spoke.
“What?” Wuxian turned to him.
“What I smelled,” Wangji replied, his ears flaming red. “From the amortentia.”
“Wait,” Wuxian back tracked. “Great Squid Ink?”
“Mn,” Wangji nodded.
“Why does the person you like smell like Great Squid Ink?” Wuxian pouted. Of course Wangji would like someone else. They were probably smart, charming, and probably just as good looking as Wangji. He already wanted to punch them in the face.
“Because they decided to provoke it and got sick for three days,” Wangji replied. Wuxian stared at him for a moment.
“But Lan Zhan, I got sick for three days after startling the great squid!” Wuxian tugged on his sleeve. He saw the tick of annoyance in Wangji’s face. “I think I would have heard of someone else doing that. You just don’t want to tell me who you like,” He started to turn away to look out over the pond. He supposed it was for the best, he’d just make Wangji angry if he punched his crush.
Suddenly hands were grabbing the front of his robes. Wuxian let out a squeal of surprise, but found it silenced by a pair of lips.
Wangji’s lips.
On his.
Wuxian felt his mind short out, his eyes flickering closed as he leaned into the kiss. It wasn't an elegant kiss, but hot and needy. Wuxian’s hands wound their way up into Wangji’s hair, pulling him closer. His question from earlier managed to surface, and he let his tongue trail out to find out if Wangji’s lips were soft.
After the briefest brush of his tongue against Wangji’s lips, nowhere near enough time to determine if they were soft or not. Wuxian found something hot and wet eagerly twisting out to wrestle with his own. He felt Wangji shift forward, pressing his weight up against him.
The new weight caught Wuxian off guard and his hand flew back to support it. Wuxian gasped as his hand slipped in the grass and he started to fall backwards. The hand in Wangji’s hair only succeeded in pulling him down on top of him.
He heard a surprised grunt from Wangji, as he started to pull back. Wuxian let out a whine of protest, quickly pulling him back. When they finally parted, they were both panting. Wuxian’s eyes opened, finding Wangji’s darkened eyes staring back at him. A rare smile on his lips.
“You know,” Wuxian grinned, shifting his hand in Wangji’s hair to trace his lips. They were a bit swollen, but soft as imagined. “You really shouldn’t be kissing me when you’ve got someone who smells like squid ink to go find.”
He laughed at the exasperated huff Wangji let out, eagerly pulling those soft lips back down to his own.

Name ten favorite characters from ten different things (books, tv, film, etc.), then tag ten people.
Thanks so much for the tag @hms-chill! It was hard to make sure I was picking from different things haha. I’m excited to see what other people choose.
1. Simon Snow, Carry On. Okay, so I relate to him on too many levels.. and have had long in-depth conversations with my friends about it. Mainly I just love my idiotic dragon boy. I’ll leave it at that lol.
2. Paige Matthews, Charmed. Does anyone here watch charmed? No? This is the OG series, not the new one they pushed out. I grew up on this, and when I was young I latched onto Paige. The new kid who was just trying to help people. I actually ended up with a slugbug (I affectionately called it the ‘strugbug’) as my first car (she drives one) and dyed my hair red for most of my youth (which could also be a result of a love for a character lower on my list.) Idk why I liked her so much. Maybe I liked the idea of discovering there was magic in my life? Maybe I wanted to make a difference like she did through social work? Maybe I just wanted the ability to orb to different places around the world. Idk.
3. Alex Claremont Diaz, Red White and Royal Blue. AGCD... my boi. I love his chaotic nature, and to have someone else who was allergic to tide detergent was nice for me haha. His realization of being not straight is something I believe most of us who aren’t straight can relate to. It made me emotional, and to be on his journey with him hit so many parts of my soul. Like I made out with so many girls when I was a teen and... never once... thought I wasn’t straight?? Like tf?
4. Darcy, Heartstopper. I just mainly love her because she is hilarious. I love her and Tara so much and I think they’re adorable. I feel like in my future relationship I’ll be the Darcy. (My bio on dating apps literally says ‘just a fun dad looking for a strict mom’ so... yeah. Strong Dara energy.)
5. Jake Peralta, B99. I am, like Jake, also a mess. He just wants to do well by others, handles emotions poorly, and the shenanigans and such are exactly like what I’d do.
Also, his mother’s comment of “houses don’t burn down like they used to” is verbatim something my mom has said.
6. Luna Lovegood, Harry Potter Series. I almost decided not to choose any character from HP because there are so many that I love. Like Remus? Sirius? the list goes on of course. But I loved Luna’s energy, and how she kind of fit the Ravenclaw vibe without being the ‘stereotype’. She loved learning.. it just maybe wasn’t the things that school was trying to get her to learn.
7. Ariel, The Little Mermaid. Okay, so I’m the first to admit that this movie has a lot of issues. I KNOW THAT OKAY. But I LOVED The Little Mermaid when I was little (and now). Like if these mermaid tail blankets were around when I was a kid... I would have had 7.
8. Percy Newton, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vices and Virtues. I loved this character in the book. He was calm (yet still so stupid), and he didn’t want to be fixed! He was totally fine and was managing! I loved his representation and everything about him.
9. Wei Wuxian, The Untamed.  Okay I know I’ve just started this show, and I know that he goes down a dark path or whatever (I think?Idk stay tuned). But I just cannot help myself but enjoy a chaotic bisexual when I see one.
10. Nick Miller, New Girl. I love Nick. Grumpy curmudgeon and unable to properly get himself together. A vibe I truly understand.
And I’ll tag:
@angelsfalling16 @anawkwardbibliophile @mmmae-zing @omgcmere @moonllotus @sourcherrymagiks @theflyingpeach @adamarks @bibliothesoph @ninemagicks
