Talon -William Cobb, that was his name once, he remembers that much at least- stares down blankly at the small child who is clinging to its -his His HIS- pant leg, tiny claws digging into the cloth and gripping onto the armor. It he freezes, unsure as to how to react. With Hunts or Orders, the talon knew exactly what to do. Entertain. Kill. Simple. 

Talons were supposed to kill witnesses, he- IT knows this, especially as one of the oldest talons that belonged to the Court. Yet the talon hesitates, something stopping it from doing so. The child looks up at it, something oh so familiar about the motion, with blue-green eyes before burying their face against its- his?- leg. 

“'̵m̸ ̵c̴o̷l̵d̸…” the child-chick… spoke? Not-spoke. Something else, familiar-yet-not. But cold, he knew that. Cold was bad, it meant sleep, not rest but a deep frozen sleep that took time to awaken from. A dangerous thing. A thing not-talons didn’t wake up from. 

The chick -Hadn’t he had a child once, all that time ago- whined, bringing its-his attention back to them. Talon could wait to return to the Court for a few hours more- the task it had been given was already complete-and keep the Cold away from the tiny chick. Just for a little bit.

very pleased to report that i tried literally counting sheep last night and got my first full night's sleep in like a week in a long period of sleepless nights!!

#not sure if i should say 'this works guys!' because while it worked for me #i'm not sure if it'll work for everyone #but yeah! focusing on counting sheep gave my mind one thought to focus on #so it could drown all the others out! much more effective than just trying to 'think of nothing' which i CANNOT do #and as i got further i began spacing out the counting. i listened to my heartbeat #and after like ten beats i'd count the next sheep #and in between the counting i found my mind drifting sort of aimlessly #vague noise i wasn't fully consciously thinking of #which i think is generally a good sign for me. cause i'm losing control of my thought processes and slipping into dreaming #but every time i'd count another sheep it was fascinating. #'one hundred and sixty sheep' and just like that the background noise was all gone. and my mind was quiet again. wow. #anyway i had a full dream for the first time in a while. my cousin was there. i missed school by accident and was disappointed. #love you all💙 sweet dreams and restful nights on planet earth even though it's ten am for me

The weirdest thing in totk so far has been finding out that there was an intended method of finding mineru where you were supposed to get hints steadily on who the fifth sage was and you weren't supposed to just force your way through zero visibility thunderstorms for the sake of exploring and then getting jumpscared by a talking construct head and realizing you just triggered a major plot centric quest early to mid game with only two other sages

what's so great about Ace being gone is that it has that lasting effect that most fictional character death lacks. Mostly because the first time he died, we saw him as Luffy's brother so it hurt seeing Luffy breaking down for his brother's dead that's why we care about him BUT this mad lad, Oda, did the unthinkable and gave us the backstory AFTER he passed away so now we care about ace in a personal level because we know now who he is as a person but he's already gone and there's nowhere we could put all this sympathy, and love, and affection and then your're seeing all these stories about him, years after he left the narrative. We are grieving him like he was a part of us and maybe he is. And I wished he knew that he was loved. Even years after he is no longer physically here, he still is.
