im really vibing with the whole goncharov thing because i deeply believe that max from once upon a time in america 1984 sergio leone deeply wanted to be railed by the main character noodles who is played by de niro

evidence of it:

at the beginning of the movie when they are young, max is unable to get it up with a woman

after noodles spent ten years in prison, max is the one that offers him a position in his bootlegging business

max observing noodles fuck carol in the bank rober

max interest in the women noodles slept with, getting together with carol and then when he assumes the identity of secretary baley he marries deborah who was

noodles is obsessed with deborah but he clearly cares more about max

they even have whole a thing about a pocket watch

after reuniting with noodles at then end, max throws himself in the garbage truck

it's a terribly misogynistic movie and treats deborah very badly, though i enjoy the musical version (even if max and noodles are less homoerotic than the movie but tbh, that shows more about the movie)
