Bringing on a New Dawn of Reason
As the world evolves, the luminaries and radical thinkers of previous eras have either faded away or have been silenced. Yet, we, the younger generation, are the inheritors of their spirit—the new wonderers. But in this ever-changing landscape, we are faced with a question: Are we wondering in vain, chasing after illusions, or are we wondering for the greater good, to carry the torch of progress for those who come after us? Aaron Bushnell, a beacon of free thought, performed an auto-da-fé against the very powers that are supposedly fighting for an all-loving God. This act of defiance will echo through the ages, urging us, the new ones, to wonder, to question, and to challenge the status quo.

"Alberti's Literary Flight: Unveiling 'La Musca' and Renaissance Humour"
"Musca" is a Latin pamphlet written by the Renaissance polymath Leone Battista Alberti. The work is a departure from Alberti's more conventional writings on art, architecture, and mathematics, showcasing his literary skills and imaginative wit.
The Latin title "Musca" translates to "The Fly" in English. In this playful and unconventional work, Alberti explores the theme of praising and glorifying the common housefly, an insect typically considered bothersome and insignificant. The pamphlet is structured as a dialogue and is characterized by its whimsical tone.
Alberti employs classical rhetorical techniques, drawing inspiration from ancient Roman literature, to elevate the subject matter. He uses humour, wordplay, and vivid descriptions to present the fly in a new light. The work is a testament to Alberti's ability to find beauty and interest in everyday, seemingly mundane things.
The choice of dedicating "Musca" to his friend Cristoforo Landino adds a personal touch to the work. Landino was a fellow humanist, philosopher, and commentator on Dante's "Divine Comedy." The dedication suggests that Alberti intended "Musca" not just as an intellectual exercise but as a light-hearted and amusing piece to share with a friend who appreciated literary and philosophical pursuits.
While "Musca" is not as widely studied or known as Alberti's architectural treatises, it provides a fascinating insight into the Renaissance mindset, where scholars and thinkers were not confined to strict disciplinary boundaries. Alberti's ability to find poetic and intellectual value in the mundane reflects the humanist spirit of the time, where a curious mind could explore various facets of knowledge and expression.

In the world of philosophy, the quest for understanding never reaches a definitive end. Every thought, every theory, is a stepping stone in an endless sea of knowledge. The true philosopher knows that the journey of the mind is one of perpetual discovery, where final words are just illusions in the quest for eternal truth.

I know that much of the structure and plan of the universe is beyond my understanding and not at all similar to anything of our earthly world that I have experienced so far. I marvel at the intellect and attention to detail, the precision manifested by the workings of this Great and often Unseen force of which we are all a part off.

Today's Thought - Cosmic Awareness
If you can maintain the awareness that the atoms that you are made of are as old as the cosmos, you will feel bigger than how the size of the Universe can make you feel insignificant.
It's paradoxically astounding that the things that can make us feel unbelievably insignificant compared to the Universe are actually what connects the immense void between what is out there and who we are.
We are part of and inside this Universe, but the Universe is ALSO IN US.
I'm also beginning to believe that the greatest wrong any human being can commit is to douse the flame of intellectual curiosity and wonder of the Universe (or any passion) in a person.
I think that is what we lose when we mature. We focus on being interesting instead of interested. We lose that child-like wonder and build biases, assumptions, limiting beliefs, and an attitude that loses sight of how everything is connected in this amazing journey that we call life.
Keep awareness of your awareness. Keep thinking about thinking. Keep striving do learn, achieve, and do more than you think is possible.
Be interested in the world around you equal to or possibly more than you are interested in yourself.

I decided pretty quickly after college that, you know, I want to be engaged in the world. And journalism seemed like this great way to be professionally curious, to constantly be learning for a living but also be deeply engaged in the world.
