Bi-Han: -It was a quiet morning, for once you were the first to wake up, so you started cooking for the both of you. -Then you felt the arms of your lover wrapping around your waist, always so chilly against your body. -You feel his right cheekbone brush against yours, like a kitty searching for affection, then his chin rests on your shoulder, you can feel his black eyes on you. "Dawn creates light and shades on your face, making your feature stand out even more, I didn't think it was possible to make you look even more beautiful." -You choke on your own spit, stunned by the honeyed words dripping from your partner lips. -What was happening? Did Bi-Han hit his head during sparring? In any case, there's no way you'll stop him. -Kettle whistle, but you don't move, still looking at Bi-Han with wide eyes. -He sighs, kisses your cheek, and takes the kettle, pouring the boiling water into his cup, where you previously put the tea bag. -"Moron, if this is your reaction, I'll have to filter my thoughts again." -You shook your head, hell, you don't think you'll ever be able to go back now, his sweet words a drug that got you immediately addicted. Sadly, you aren't used to compliments anymore; you can just stutter out a no, while you feel heath on your cheeks. -Bi-Han smirks at you, a playful gesture you rarely see (and you are still thanking the gods that blessed you this morning) his right hand reaching for the apple of your cheek, pulling it in between his index and middle fingers before snapping it back in place. -"Sit down, I'll make you coffee maybe it will wake you up." -You aren't sure if you want to wake up.

Kitana: -You are waiting for her to return from work, your stomach churning always worried something bad may have happened. -You are reading a novel when you feel the door of the living room opening. You lift your head up, eager to see your lover come in. -And she does, a ray of sunshine deep into the night. -Kitana walks to you, a tired smile on her face, 'till she reaches you behind the armchair you are sitting on. -"Good night beautiful, first time here?" You say, chuckling at your own silliness. -Kitana chuckles along, the kind that shows the wonderful smile that always makes you understand how lucky you are. -"Since you leave me breathless every time I look at you-" Her face lean closer to yours "maybe it is" her plush lips kiss your forehead before she leaves to change in more comfortable clothing. -You curl on yourself, face hidden inside your book, and you are pretty sure your head is fuming for how fast the gears in your brain are working. -"Don't curl up, dear! You know it's bad for your back" Kitana shouts from your shared bedroom "I don't want my princess to get back pain" she whispers the last part. -Maybe one day she will get bold enough to freely speak her mind, for now you'll have to cheerish this rare moment of softness.

Kung Lao: -You tried a new recipe today, made with the fresh vegetables Kung Lao and Raiden picked up at dawn. -Saying you were nervous is a euphemism. You didn't want to fail, but even more to thrash the food your friend and boyfriend grew and picked up after so much effort. -You put the food on the table, useless to say to start the meal, Kung Lao cheeks were already full, and Raiden followed soon. -The judgment arrived soon, the burp coming from your partner mouth a telltale sign and a bad habit you still weren't able to correct. -"My love, the food was amazing, delicious!" Kung Lao stands up, arms open ready to embrace your body "Not that I have any doubts, your cooking skill just another plus of my wonderful-" He kisses your nose "amazing-" his lips touch your left cheek "beautiful dove" his lips finally rest on yours. -You reciprocate the kiss, but your mind is elsewhere, so used to Kung Lao singing his own praises without sparing a nice word to anybody else, you didn't expect so many compliments. -You break the kiss when you hear Raiden coughing in the background, heath flooding your face while your boyfriend was totally unaffected, still looking at you with that softness he always reserves for you. -Kung Lao soon returns at the table to finish the meal together with Raiden, and then they both go back to train. -But not before smooching your cheek, lips staining your skin with, what you guessed was the juice of the peach Kung Lao eat before going back to work. -You clean yourself with the back of your hand before going back to work, the comoliments of your boyfriend still reverberating into your brain, a nice intrusive thought that won't leave you for the rest of the day.

Babyspace Regressor Fujin Who Needs Padding  Hcs
☁️ While Fujin mostly regresses to a bigger kid headspace, even Gods need baby days (a lot of baby days, let's be honest)
☁️ Especially Gods with Brothers always keeping them in check, making sure they're doing their ‘Godly Duties’ instead of being able to just dance in a flower field 🙄
☁️ Fujin first baby regressed around Raiden, so it wasn’t the scariest thing in the world, because Raiden has Babyspace watching experience, but it was a little scary being small like that for the first time
☁️ But he does really like baby regressing!! Especially after a really long, hard day of whatever duties he had to fulfill :(
☁️ Fujin found out about padding when Liu Kang started using it!
☁️ He could see how embarrassed and upset Liu was over it, so he made it his mission to do some research on his own to help him!!
☁️ He tried, key word is tried, to use padding by himself, secretly, but Raiden apparently knows everyone's business, for some reason 🙄 (also Fujin was acting suspicious and he wanted to make sure his brother was okay)
☁️ Raiden did not mind at all, a little shocked sure, but that’s his baby brother
☁️ I think Fujin would either like normal padding, or maybe small clouds and such
☁️ (^ I also think it helped Liu Kang accept needing padding, because someone he looked up to used it as well)
☁️ Fujin doesn’t necessarily have accidents? Maybe a few during naptime, which he gets a little fussy about
☁️ He more wears padding for comfort and to help him regress that small, which was why he was nervous because he felt like he didn’t have a ‘good reason’
☁️ ^ He got scolded for those icky thoughts, what helps him helps him, period, he’s not harming anyone
☁️ Fujin isn’t necessarily embarrassed about using padding, especially since he has many people who’ll shut others up, but only a few select know

☁️ Normally Fujin is a little bit independent while regressed, but also very cuddly

⎯ Liu Kang
With some free time and a good plan in mind, Liu Kang’s got V-Day SET. He’s got an entire night planned out for you and him, he makes Valentine’s Day out to be a pretty big deal. He’s got a list of what he wants to do and what he wants to get you. All holidays are pretty big with him.
A nice lunch date, some candies, maybe even a silly little stuffed animal. That’s all he needs. And it’s a beautiful day, nonetheless. In truth, he could care less about all the big gestures, but at the same time, it’s fun for him. Part of him won’t deny the spectacle, but he’d also rather just sit down, with you in his arms, and tell you how much you mean to him. The world, and more.
⎯ Kung Lao
Kung Lao’s sure he’s got Valentine’s Day down. A classic bouquet, way too much chocolate and candy, and some of his best (horrid) pickup lines and one liners. Shit, even he does the stupid rose petal trail thing. And he’s proud of himself for it. How romantic!
And the look on your face is priceless to him. Yes, he knows that Valentine’s Day is meant to celebrate your love for eachother, but he enjoys making it about you. Every little gesture met with a small blush or something and it only makes him happier. Every year, he tends to treat V-Day like a second birthday for you, really. So, so many gifts.
⎯ Lord Raiden
Amongst his duty as Protector of Earthrealm, Raiden has lost the flow of Valentine’s Day. But, that doesn’t mean he won’t try. He doesn’t see the glamor in gifts or candies, a simple ‘I love you’ could do for him. But at the same time, he sees how into it you are… so he puts a lot of effort into planning a date for you two.
A night underneath the stars, somewhere in Earthrealm that you can’t discern. It’s tranquil, with no light pollution to hide the entirety of the night sky. The sky is painted in deep blues and oddly vibrant purples. The stars are many, all together, dancing in the sky. So many that it’s hard to find constellations.
⎯ Fujin
Finally back from the void, Fujin has been looking forward to human traditions. Valentine’s Day is one that's on the top of his list. He’s so sweet that it makes your teeth hurt. For years to come he plans out V-Day meticulously, because there’s so much he had missed out on. And he wants to do every cliche thing with you.
So, Fujin takes it one step at a time. For this Valentine’s Day, he brings you some pink orchids. He tries to find different flowers for you with beautiful meanings each year. This year he chose a night of dancing. He’s terrifyingly good, leading you through all the steps, humming along to the music, stopping for a second to just stare down at you and smile… it’s the perfect night.
⎯ Kuai Liang
As Grandmaster, Kuai Liang can;t necessarily take a day off. He’d love to, but duty calls, unfortunately. That doesn’t mean he won’t celebrate V-Day, though. It’ll end up much later in the day, just barely before midnight. He’s practically scavenged for a bouquet, with white daisies and red carnations.
It’s not the most grand celebration, nor the most luxurious. But it is time with his beloved, and it is enough. Regardless, he professes his love for you (like he doesn’t every day…), and you two dance in the kitchen. If he could, he’d drop his work and dedicate his time to you. But these little moments with you in his arms, laughing as he stumbles a little while dancing… perhaps he is okay with it.
⎯ Hanzo Hazashi
Hanzo’s coordinated as hell for Valentine’s Day. He always does his best to make it memorable, even given his busy schedule. But somehow, some way, he’s managed to get most of V-Day off. He plans the perfect night for you two, all he’s left you with during the day is an invitation for a night at his home. He did his best not to give away what he had planned.
When you open the door, you are met with perfectly dimmed lights, and the smell of a home cooked meal, something… doughy. And he greets you with a warm smile– a rare sight these days. He’s made a 3 course meal, but the star of the show is the Castella Cake. He doesn’t get to cook much, but when he does it is a treat. You two stay seated at the dinner table for what feels like hours, well past midnight. Just talking. That was what Hanzo was really looking forward to.
⎯ Johnny Cage
When he was younger, Johnny would’ve definitely bought way too much for you. We’re talking like seven bouquets, all the chocolates and candies off the shelves, a shitton of stuffed animals and teddy bears, and god knows how many cards. He’d probably just sign the cards, younger him wouldn’t take much time to even think about a nice little note to write.
But, lucky for you, he’s grown up. And while he’ll spoil you regardless, he knows there’s no meaning to a gift if he doesn’t think about it. Johnny gets you a nice bouquet of roses, and takes you out for dinner and a movie. He’s got his arm around you the entire movie. And at the end of the night, after he’s dropped you off at your house, he presents one of those silly, cheesy cards to you. With a cute little message on it. ‘I love you to the moon and back’... something like that.
⎯ Kenshi Takahashi
Kenshi’s cocky, but he’s modest, too. As much as he’d like to buy you an over-the-top display of his love, some horribly rich and luxurious chocolates, and hell, even one of those damn swan boat rides. But, he also holds immense restraint. He’s a sappy, cheesy lover, and good gods, is it hard for him to not show it.
Eventually, he settles with something classic. Given his work with Special Forces, he can’t do everything he wanted. Regardless if he convinced himself that it was too over-the-top. So, he gets you a simple bouquet (Sonya helped him pick it out) and a nice dinner. Nothing too fancy, something local and quaint. 
⎯ Takeda Takahashi
Takeda is admittedly a mess when it comes to stuff like Valentine’s Day. But, he’s able to pull it off. He’s managed to slip away from the Shirai Ryu and his father for V-Day. Sure, he’s gonna get an earful from BOTH of his dads, but it’ll be worth it. He spends a ridiculous amount of time looking for the right flowers and the right candy for you, he’s… nervous. Real nervous, to be honest.
It’s a surprisingly intimate day! He takes you out to an arcade (once you’ve put the flowers in a vase), and oh… does he like to show off. He’s crushing almost every game (besides guitar hero), doing his best the get the highest amount of credits possible, so he can buy you one of those massive stuffed animals in the prize room. And if there’s a claw machine? Takeda bleeds it DRY. He’ll get you all the stupid little stuffed animals or toys in that thing. He has to. He’s insanely passionate about that, actually.
⎯ Kung Jin
Kung Jin is more of a mess than Takeda, actually. And he’s worse at hiding it. He’s got an entire checklist, what flowers you might like, if you’d prefer sweets or a candle-lit dinner, which stuffed animal he should buy. And no matter how many times he goes over it he can’t quell the butterflies in his stomach. He can’t just talk himself out of it either.
But, he pushes through, and shows up at your door with a bouquet of sunflowers in hand. He trips over his words at the start, but eventually he grows more confident as you two walk around a nice, local outdoor mall. The real date (as he frames it) is at night, when the streets are lit up by fairy lights, and the crowd is much less dense. You two settle down at some restaurant and just… talk. That’s it. Granted, he sprinkles in some cheesy one liners and small ‘love you’s.
⎯ Erron Black
When Erron ran off to Outworld, he thought he wouldn’t have to deal with some Earthrealm holidays. It’s not what drove him off, of course, but he didn’t care much for them anyways. Much less Valentine’s Day. But when you start talking about it, he feels like he’s obligated to. He doesn’t complain, and actually, he’s just as into it as you are. He’s a little homesick, in a way.
It’s no spectacle, but he’s got an idea. The nicest bouquet he could find (with flowers that he cannot pronounce the names of), with a nice little handwritten note. And a horribly cheesy joke. It makes him smile. He’ll teach you how to ride a horse (whatever his mount is called I couldn’t find it), which is really his favorite part of the day. Doesn’t matter if you complain that you already know how to, he still finds it fun. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll egg you on to do the Two-Step with him. To what music? Don’t ask.

Liu Kang x Fem!Reader
This is my first fic on here :) not proof read yet‼️
Summary: Reader was an orphan Raiden found and raised in the temple. Despite being close in ages, Kung Lao and Liu were forbidden from really interacting with her because Raiden feared they’d become a distraction to each other. One night Liu Kang catches her sneaking around the temple, and doesn’t hesitate to seize the opportunity to talk to her
It was no secret that out of all the students Master Raiden took on, (Y/n) was by far one of his favorites. Although he would never dare to outright say it, the proof of this matter became pretty evident in their day to day life. (Y/n) was always the pupil standing behind him or to the side whenever another god payed the temple a visit, she was always given the most formidable missions and tasks, and to top it all off, she trained one-on-one with the Master himself and forbid most of the monks from interacting with her.
Now, Raiden could have placed this rule down for several reasons, but the most prominent one seemed to be because (Y/n) was the only female amongst his students, and so he mandated this in order to protect her well being. After all, who knew what evil might lurk in the hearts of these young men, Raiden thought. As one of his best pupils, (Y/n) couldn’t afford any distractions, nor could the others such as Liu Kang or Kung Lao.
Aside from that, Raiden had raised (Y/n) since she was a child, and as much as he hated to admit, he’d grown rather fond of her as not only a student, but as a daughter. So why wouldn’t he want to ensure no monk came to mettle in her business?

Raiden’s rule came with strict precautions and schedules to ensure (Y/n) would never really have to interact with the young men. I say young, because at the end of the day, (Y/n) needed someone to spar with, and Raiden couldn’t always be the one to fight her, so he permitted one of the trustworthy older monks to train with her under supervision every once and a while. Other than that, (Y/n)’s social interactions were limited to the household workers, such as the nurses.
This didn’t mean (Y/n) was oblivious to the existence of the monks around her age or younger. As the years carried on, and (Y/n) blossomed into a young woman, Raiden thought it was suitable to have her assist the children in their training. Her presence, he found, had a calming effect on the children and they quickly took a liking to her. However, this new position allowed her to see the monks around her age in passing or on the other side of the training grounds.
Still, none of them ever spoke to her outside of the casual greetings, thank you’s, and goodbyes.

“Do you want spar again later on today?” Liu Kang asked as he took a seat on the ground next to Kung Lao and grabbing his water.
Kung Lao ushered for him to pass the water to him. “Mmm,” He hummed thoughtfully, “We could try, but I think Master Raiden is having the younger monks use the training grounds while he’s out.”
Liu handed him the water and ran a sweaty hand through his hair. “If he’s out, then who’s leading them?”
Kung Lao took a generous sip from the bottle and placed it on the ground. “(Y/n)(L/n) is.” He answered, wiping his chin with the back of his hand.
“(Y/n)?” Liu furrowed his brows together in confusion. “She’s been here just as long as I have, yet I don’t believe I’ve ever held an actual conversation with her.”
Kung Lao huffed, “Good. Master would have your head if you did.”
Liu gave him a puzzled look.
“Elder god’s rule!” Kung Lao cheered with false enthusiasm, “None of us are allowed to bother her. But as you can see, she’s been placed in charge of the children, so who knows? It doesn’t seem reasonable to me, really.”
“Huh.” Liu mused. I suppose he’d gotten so accustomed to his schedule that he didn’t even notice how little he interacted with the girl. Hell, he’d completely forgotten about that dumb rule.
“She’s an interesting girl, that’s for sure,” Kung Lao continued.
Just as he said that, the door in the hallway connected to their training court opened and the girl in question emerged, making her way down the hallway.
“Speak of the devil, there she is,” Kung Lao laughed.
(Y/n) turned her head at the sound of his voice and offered them both a smile and a wave as she passed by.
Kung Lao waved back enthusiastically. “She’s beautiful, isn’t she?” He whispered to Liu, but Liu was too captivated to respond.
His jaw loosened and all he could do was stare at her and only her, as if he was a camera in portrait mode. The wold around her seemed to blur and the light of the sun reflecting off of her skin and clothes made it seem like she was glowing. Liu Kang took in as much detail as he could; the tilt of her head, how her hair framed her face, the curve of her smile, everything. It all seemed magnificent and surreal.
He’d seen her before, surely, but somehow in that very moment something clicked in his mind. Something deep inside him had begun to build up and bubbled it’s way around his entire body. Liu felt like he was sick, but there was no nausea and his body didn’t ache. Instead his throat felt as it had closed and his chest tingled and burned. He brought a hand up and clenched the fabric in between his pectorals. As (Y/n)’s figure disappeared into the other side of the temple, Liu exhaled sharply.
“Liu?”
Perhaps this was the first time he’d taken the time to truly look at her, and that’s why he was feeling this way.
“Liu Kang?”
Maybe he’d been too concentrated on training and improving himself.
Liu was pulled out of his thoughts by Kung Lao flicking his forehead as hard as he could.
“OW— Lao—,” He whined.
Kung Lao chuckled, “I said your name twice.”
Liu’s frown dropped, “Oh, I apologize.” His gaze fell down to his feet in embarrassment.
A sly smile tugged at the ends of Kung Lao’s mouth as he realized what was going through Liu’s head.
“As I was saying,” He cleared his throat, “She’s beautiful. Truly something special, huh?” He teased.
Liu let out a sarcastic laugh and shoved the other male playfully.
The next couple of days Liu’s infatuation with (Y/n) would only grow stronger and more visible to Kung Lao and the others around them. It was interesting to see Liu become passionate about something other than being the “chosen one” for a change. Now the question was how long would it take before he couldn’t help but approach her?

Another tedious lesson was over and the two friends could not have been more eager to burst out of the room down roam the halls of the temple to their rooms, but Liu and Kung Lao knew better than to display such uncultivated behavior in front of their master. Once they and the other boys had been dismissed and were out of view from Raiden, Liu began his usual tangent.
“I saw her twice after morning practice, did I tell you?” He began stretching his arms above his head, “I waved and she—,”
“I know, Liu.” Kung Lao chuckled, “You told me all of this during our lunch. I’m beginning to think you’re becoming a little... obsessed with poor (Y/n).”
Liu slapped Kung Lao’s shoulder playfully, “I’m not obsessed, I assure you. I’m just curious as to why Master Raiden won’t let us talk to her.”
Kung Lao opened the pathway to their rooms and shook his head and they continued to walk. “I’m sure he has his reasons. And besides, it’s not good to be so fixated on this when you should be focused on training, Liu.”
Liu cocked and eyebrow at his friend. “What do you mean?”
Kung Lao stopped walking and gave him and knowing look, the corners of his mouth pulling up in amusement as if he was refraining a smile. “Don’t pretend like that little slip up during sparing a day ago while (Y/n) entered happened by sheer coincidence.”
Liu huffed and turned his face away stubbornly. “I didn’t expect her to be watching. I’m not used to fighting with an audience quite yet, that’s all.”
Now that was definitely a lie. Kung Lao knew Liu Kang saw himself as the golden boy amongst their peers, and who could blame him. He was a magnificent fighter.
“If that’s what you want me to believe, then so be it.” Kung Lao flicked the other boy’s forehead, then went off to tidy himself up before bed.
It wasn’t terribly late into the evening yet, but late enough that the sun has completely gone down and most of the temple residents were already asleep. Liu followed in his cousin’s footsteps and heading towards the showers. Afterwards the two boys spent another hour or so talking and playing games together until Kang Lao finally bid Liu goodnight.
Liu stayed behind to put away their things and was about to head out for the night, but when he stepped out into the open grand hall he noticed a figure quickly hide themselves behind one of the columns in the distance. His first reaction would of been to pounce and attack the being right then and there, but he knew he’d have to deal with a lot of angry side eyed glances tomorrow if it turned out to be a false alarm. A stealthy approach was better.
The boy casually pretended as if he was entering another section of the temple and hid behind the wall until he heard feint footsteps going the opposite direction. He took this opportunity to create some distance between him and the figure, just enough that it’d be difficult for them to sense them, but still allowed Liu to follow them.
Down the grand hall, towards the back of the temple, out into the training courts, and...
Into the greenhouse?
If this was a thief, they obviously weren’t a very smart one, for nothing of value would be found in the garden, Liu thought to himself. The garden itself was nothing impressive. Just a small room that was barely the size of a large shed. It contained a collection of flowers, potted trees and herbs that the nurses kept to replenish their stock every once and a while. Liu Kang peered in from the distance behind one of the trees outlining the entrance way, and finally identified the being as the girl he’d been thinking about nearly all week.
It was (Y/n). She placed a lantern that she’d been carrying with her onto the ground and look out a match from her pocket, then crouched down beside it. Seeing as the temple was in no danger, Liu Kang turned around to leave, but the shuffle of the branches startled (Y/n). She quickly summoned her (weapon/power) and darted out of the greenhouse. In her panic, the girl executed one swift blow to the tree, which Liu ducked and narrowly dodged.
“Calm yourself! It’s just me!” Liu whisper-yelled as he revealed himself, holding his hands in front of his chest defensively.
(Y/n) unclenched her fists and allowed her arms to fall to her side. She exhaled in relief, “You— what are you...? I apologize, I shouldn’t have assumed you were an attacker.” Her gaze fell to the floor in embarrassment.
Liu shook his head, “No, no, it was my mistake! I followed you out here on false pretenses that you were a burglar.”
The girl smiled and stifled a laugh. She tilted her head slightly upward to get a better look at the young man in front of her. He was in his normal attire, with his dark hair falling just about his shoulders and framing his face and neck quite nicely. (Y/n) would’ve been tempted to stare at him a little longer if not for the predicament she was in now.
“Oh, I’m sorry, Liu Kang. You see, I’m so busy during the day— and although I know Master wouldn’t approve of it, I come out here when everyone’s alseep just to have time to myself.” She explained frantically, “I don’t— please don’t misinterpret my intentions, I was just—,”
“It’s alright, (Y/n).” Liu smiled, slightly flustered, placing a hand on her shoulder, “No need to explain yourself further. I won’t tell anyone. In fact this entire conversation is technically forbidden, mind you.”
(Y/n) was looking directly at Liu Kang now, and something about his presence was extremely calming to her.
“That’s right...” She mumbled, “You should go then, I don’t want to cause you any more inconvenience, Liu Kang.”
“Just Liu is fine.” He could feel the giddy feeling in his chest growing stronger each time she said his name. In truth, he didn’t want to leave her just yet. He glanced back at the greenhouse and spotted the perfect excuse. “But before I go,” His hand trailed down from her shoulder to her hand, and she accepted it. Liu tugged her back towards the greenhouse.
“I see that in your hurry to kill me, you’ve lost your match.” He smiled playfully at her and picked up the lantern on the floor. Letting go of her hand, he summoned a small flame and lit the wick of the candle inside. Then Liu took (Y/n)’s hands and wrapped it around the side of the glass boy firmly.
“There.” He nodded in satisfaction. “Please accept this as my apology for interrupting your evening.”
(Y/n) let out a small laugh and nodded back. “Thank you, Liu, but,” Her eyes flickered down to the lantern, then back up at him with a hint of mischief, “now that you know my secret, how will I know if you’ll actually keep it?”
“What?” Liu frowned, pretending to take offense, “Is my word not good enough? In that sense, how do I know you’re not actually a burglar?”
“I suppose we’ll just have to keep an eye of each other from now on.” (Y/n) shrugged.
The two stared at each other for a moment, then bursted into a fit of giggles. (Y/n) sighed and placed the lantern on the ground.
“So I’ll see you tomorrow then? It works for both of us. Your secret stays a secret, and I get to talk to you.”
(Y/n)’s face heated up at his words, although I doubt Liu Kang could see it with just a lantern for light. “I look forward to it then. Goodnight Liu.”
Liu placed a small kiss on the back of (Y/n)’s hand, impressed with his own boldness.
“Goodnight.”

Bonus:
The next morning, (Y/n) rounded up the younger monks to observe the elder ones practice. She subtly waved to both Liu Kang and Kung Lao before taking her seat behind the children. Just as a match was about to commence, Master Raiden appeared in the entrance and made his way to the center of the court. The monks exchanged confused glances until Raiden spoke.
“Alright, which of you imbeciles destroyed one of my trees?”

Okay, so I have this stuck in my head for a bit. What is raiden had a s/o who was pregnant but, they don’t know their pregnant and one day a kid just pops out. I need to know please.
So this is kinda a hard one to do becuase I feel like you would know if your pregnant, so I'm making that when you get pregnant wirh a demi god. baby doesn't take as long to be born and doesn't give it as many side effects. Only down part is only protection that works is condoms.
This is more so alot of the character's reacting to raiden and he reader having a surprise child that neither of them knew of.
It's a little short but hey i like how it turned out and I hope toy all enjoy it.

Raiden is obvious that much is known, his s/o on the other hand didn't really read the signs that their body gave. So two very obvious idiots in love, things are bound to happen. One of those things is Raiden getting his S/O pregnant and neither of them realising.
There isn't many other people in a relationship with other gods that they have met so they are mainly going off what feel right for them. But now raiden sits with his lover curled up into his side as he also cradles an infant, his daughter.
She looks very much like her father in some aspects, the light dust of white hair on head is one of them. She knew his voice from what he gathered, she doesn't like him being away very much the same as his S/o. Inari is what they had both settled on name her after all it was quite fitting.
"Raiden?, are you alright" he hears the voice of his lover. He turns gentle to watch them as they smile watching him with their daughter. "Im well, just enjoying this, first time we have stopped to just be close in a little, even if it's becuase of an unexpected gift" he says gentle laying his daughter against her other parent. "She's a surprise that's for sure, a beautiful one.
I didn't even know I was pregnant" he leans down and presses a soft kiss against his lovers forehead. "I guess this means from now on we are using condoms. Becuase I'm on brithcontrol and well" they gesture to Inari. "She happened" raiden nods. "That's probably for the best, as much as I adore this little one, I do not think we were ready for her" he explains as he gentle rubs her forehead.
"We really aren't but, she's here and we will make it work" his S/o replys as they lay their head against his chest. "How do you think the elders will react to her?" He's quite for a little. "They will find out in time, as of now I wish to spend as much time as I can with my family" he says. He smiles gently enjoy the peace that took hold of his heart. Everything is so calming.

Fujin is the first other then raiden to hold Inari, the wind God is so gentle with her as he smiles too both Raiden and (y/n). Fujin adores his niece and Raiden loves seeing his brother, lover and daughter. They are his family.
The next few days are spend as bed rest for both Inari and his S/o, Raiden does what he can for both of them while also catching up on much needed work too. Fortunately his daughter is very quite, she makes little noises to gain his attention when she can.
And that's how he ends up with her sleep in his arm while he rocks her slowly, in his other hand is reports on outworld. Master Hasashi had been so kind as to let them stay in the fire gardens so that he could know both his loves are safe.
Inari grumbles lightly before she goes quite again snuggled up to her father as he hums lightly. "Lord Raiden, can i offer you so tea?" The thunder God looks up from his papers to see master Hasashi at the door.
"That would be lovely, thank you once again for letting us stay here for a while. (Y/n) is still healing and I believe they enjoy spending time here too, it is peaceful." He says lightly has Hanzo brings in cups and a small teapot. They both sit in the quite as Hanzo prepares the tea.
"Does anyone else know of you're daughter?" He ask lightly. Raiden is tries to recall who He has told. "Fujin is aware, and I've informed Sonya but they are the only ones but yourself and grandmaster Kuai Laing who know." He says lightly rocking Inari lightly.
"Woueld you like to hold her?" Master Hasashi freezes for a second. Looking to Raiden before giving a short nod. The thunder God smiles as he gentle places her in the man's arms. "... (y/n) and I want to ask if you would be. Her God father?, I do not knwo what it means but If something we're to happen to (y/n) and I would you be willing to guild and care for her?"
It's a hard topic for both of them. For raiden the thought of not being able to look after his daughter or himself and his lover perishing. And For Hanzo the memories of the life he once had, the family he once had. "She will be safe here, and your family is always welcome in the fire gardens." Hanzo says lightly cradling Inari. "Thank you Hanzo"

"Wait! You got knocked up by the God of thunder and weren't going to tell us!!" Johnny yells only to get a slap up the head by both Sonya and Cassie. "Look we didn't know until I had her ok, we weren't exactly expecting her. But umm... It turns out brithcontrol doesn't stop you getting pregnant from a God" they explain while holding Inari.
"No that's something I didn't want to hear" Johnny groans. Sonya laughs. " You guys are always welcome around here, after all raiden been around since before Cassie was born. He's kinda like an uncle too her" they all laugh enjoying talking about whatever comes up in conversation.
"So.. when are you and raiden gonna tell Liu Kang and Kung Lao? I'm sure they would both love to meet her, and I'm so telling Jin and the other two i got to hold her first" Cassie says as she bounce Inari on her lap. "Well we are hoping to see both Liu and Lao, I think they already know about her but then again. Johnny hasn't told them yet so maybe not"
"Hey! I can keep a secret!"

"This is her" Liu Kang ask while cradling the thunder gods child. "Yes that is her" raiden confirms as (y/n) smiles lightly to the young man. "She has Raidens hair, very white. She look like you both" He says as both he and Lao fuss over the little girl. "She looks like a potato Liu" Lao say earning a laugh for Raidens lover.
"Just remember Lao you were once a potato too!" (Y/n) replys. Raiden smiles as he watches to two men he saw as his sons interact with his daughter. It's moments like these that make him feel so compete.
"So.. are you going to tell the elder gods?"

You find yourself on a rainy night, book in hand. Liu Kang shows up at your door unexpected and brings you far more than you bargained for. Smut Warning.

Thunder grumbled and it was the standout performance in a symphony of rain and wind. Your blankets were folded at the bottom of the bed while you reclined against your pillows, turning the pages of a book that Liu Kang had left with Kung Lao to give to you. Kung Lao had almost forgotten about it but you’d mentioned spending the rest of your night reading if you couldn’t sleep so he’d gone to retrieve it for you. It was a book about Huangshan that you’d seen in his room. He’d marked several passages that had made him think of you.
You’d lit a few candles and the one closest to you flickered out. You crawled out of bed and struck a match to relight the wick. It flickered and you held your palm around it to protect it from the wind. The heat of the flame kissed your fingertips and you urged the candle a little further away from your bed to protect it from the storm.
With it so far away you couldn’t read as easily with your tired eyes so you set the book on the desk and elected to instead watch the storm. There was a flash right outside your window and thunder shook you so severely that you nearly leapt out of your skin. You laughed, hand to your neck in a very ‘clutching your pearls’ motion as it made your heart race.
Then you were calm.
For the first time since that night you’d danced in the rain with Liu Kang you felt peace.
No worry about nightmares. No stress about your arcana. No visions.
Just the storm.
It was the first time in a long time where you looked out your window and thought that Raiden’s Temple was beautiful. The little lights across the way sparkled and you wondered what the others were up to.
It was so calming that you nearly fell asleep leaning against the wall, holding your pillows close. The sound of the rain, the mental image of people living their lives- it was a beautiful lullaby.
Just as you closed your eyes and began to drift there was a knock at your door. Blinking the sleep from your eyes, you stretched and adjusted your hanfu closed around you. You fixed the tie that held it closed around your middle so it fit more properly. You’d been wearing it more like a robe, half open, not exactly appropriate for visitors. It had seemed like the best thing for bed just in case you woke up imprisoned again. This time your legs wouldn’t be so exposed.
The knocking repeated.
“One second!” You felt suddenly nervous at the impatience of your nighttime visitor. It was late, you had every right to be slow. But it also had to be important this late. You hurried to the door, double checking that you were decent, and opened it to find Liu Kang.
He was drenched. Exhausted.
“Liu! Are you okay?” You looked him over worriedly. He didn’t seem to be wounded that you could tell at least, but still, he looked worse for wear. Kung Lao had said he was having a long day but this was not the end of his day that you had pictured. He said nothing but instead watched you, dark eyes taking in your expression with some concern. You swallowed the sudden lump of nerves in your throat. “Come in, please. Take a seat.” Gently, you took his hand and urged him into the room. You closed the door behind him and then made your way to the desk to pull out the chair for him. As your fingers barely touched the back of the chair, he grasped your wrist and pulled you back to him. You stumbled but caught yourself. His fingers remained wrapped around your wrist, then carefully caressed to your palm where he then held your hand, lacing your fingers with his. “Liu, you’re worrying me.” You would have been delighted for him to tease you about the ‘w’ word with the way he was behaving.
“Y/N…” He wanted to say more, you could see that, but the words didn’t come and he furrowed his brow as if frustrated they weren’t coming to him. This was usually your problem, not Liu Kang’s. He was usually thoughtful and always seemed to know what to say. But now his eyes were fixed on you, dark deep pools looking to you as if he’d lost you and then found you all over again. It was like he couldn’t believe you were there.
“You’re soaked.” You rested your hand on his cheek, brushing your thumb against it. “You’re going to catch cold. Are you hurt? Are you… okay?” You pulled your hand free with every intention of checking the wrap on his arm where you’d hurt him but he grasped your wrist again and pulled you closer to him. You stiffened up in surprise at how tightly he held you. It wasn’t painful, just different. He wasn’t acting like himself. “Liu, please say something. Anything.”
“I’m okay.” He managed and his soft, calm voice sent a flood of relief through you. He pulled your hand away from his cheek and urged your fingers to curl around his then brought them to his lips. You felt your stomach twist into knots. There he was. That was more like him. He then allowed your hand to rest on his chest. You could feel his heart pounding, practically as hard as yours had been when you’d first woken up after Raiden had shocked you. “I’m okay.” He repeated, letting go of your other hand, resting both of his against the side of your neck while taking a careful step closer. You stiffened up with him so close to you.
His warm, soot-covered fingers caressed over the sides of your neck, one set of fingers traveling over your jaw. You leaned into his touch and closed your eyes, brow still knit tightly with worry. His lips brushed just against yours and your fingers grasped at the cloth of his shirt.
“Liu…” You pulled back from his lips just enough to catch his gaze. Not that you didn’t want to kiss him, no you very much wanted to kiss him, but you were worried as hell.
“Y/N, please… I…” His lips around your name gave you the chills and the concern on his face made your heart practically stop. You understood suddenly. He needed to see you. To hold you. You felt it and you knew all too well what that agony was like. How many nightmares had you suffered where he’d been hurt or in trouble? The only cure for that kind of fear had been to touch him. To hold him. To see that he was safe and it was just your brain playing tricks on you. Moistening your lips nervously, you watched as he suffered silently in front of you. Then you placed your hand back on his cheek, tilted him more toward you, leaned up a little on your toes to stand taller and kissed him.
For the first time you kissed him. You didn’t wait for him to take the initiative again. He had made it clear what he’d needed and you were happy to give it to him. His lips were soft and practically perfect against yours. Yours brushed over his and then you placed a tender kiss on his lower lip before fully kissing him again. Liu pulled his hand from your cheek and instead urged his arm around you, hand resting securely against the small of your back, grasping at your hanfu just enough for you to feel the fabric pull around your middle.
His lips were tender and sweet, tasting of rain and sweat. He shuddered beneath your kiss, as if you had given him more than he’d bargained for by taking the initiative. You’d decided days ago not to be passive anymore but were proud that you’d followed through. You felt bold. Something you hadn’t felt in a long while. You hadn’t quite realized how your confidence had taken a beating. Liu Kang had always been there for you to lean on. He had given you strength when you thought you had none. Now you would do the same for him in whatever moment of weakness he was experiencing.
That weakness in him was brief.
His kisses became more insistent, lips engulfing yours more passionately. He pulled you closer, only leaving a ghost of a space between you. You urged your arms around his shoulders and allowed your body to rest carefully against his, an intimacy that you had shared more than a handful of times now but still sent a rush through you.
His soaking wet gi was drenched enough that you could feel it through your hanfu, warm against your skin, warm because Liu Kang was always warm. His fingers tangled into your hair and you felt that slight tug as he held you close. The rising and falling of his chest became as desperate as his kisses. His tongue graced your lower lip and begged for invitation and you wouldn’t dare deny him. How could you? He held you into the commanding, deep kiss, a messy but intimate thing that you had not expected from Liu Kang that night.
He was a man who did everything with intention and this was no different. Not that it seemed planned, but rather everything he did what he did with such sincerity and passion it was often overwhelming. He’d intended for this. To wrap his arms around you and kiss you. Who were you to question him? When you had dreamt of this kiss, of more than this kiss since you’d met.
His fingers came free of your hair and he pulled just away from your lips. His graceful hand traced the outline of your face, over your jaw, beneath your chin, and tilted you closer to him again. “Liu…” You began, voice soft and frail. He made you weak, not as though you were frail, but in a vulnerable sort of way. You hated being vulnerable usually but not with Liu Kang. He placed his finger to your lips to silence your worry. You didn’t fight him, hopelessly lost in those dark, mysterious eyes.
You’d never felt a pull to anyone like you felt to Liu Kang. An intense need to be closer to him, a desire that you didn’t understand how to process. His soft voice made you shiver. His gentle and careful touches had set you on fire. Moments where he’d gotten close enough to kiss you and instead had left you wanting had nearly killed you. Every moment with him was new and thrilling but also intimate and romantic. He made you feel both vulnerable and strong in ways you hadn’t thought you’d been capable.
Liu Kang had shown you a whole different side of yourself that you had never known and it was liberating. Screw being nervous if this had something to do with the trauma you’d experienced. “They did not.” He placed another kiss on the back of your shoulder. “Went wrong in just about every way you could imagine. It left me shaken.” The rain pattered against the stone of the temple, thunder grumbling in the distance like a soft lullaby.
“And you thought that coming here to do that would help?” You tried to lighten his mood and alleviate some of his worry. You were okay. Right now, you were safe and recovering.
“Well, it did make me feel considerably better so was I wrong to?” He chuckled but his smile was short lived and he again avoided your eyes. That was okay. You were avoiding his now too.
“What if there’s no fix, Liu?” You played with the trim of the fabric over your pillows. “What if this is just how it is?”
“I won’t settle for that. We’ll find a way, Y/N.”
“But what if…”
“Y/N.” He tilted you to look at him and rested on his stomach next to you, mimicking your position, shoulder pressed against yours. “We will. No matter what.” He needed you to believe him, you could see that. It wasn’t that you didn’t, it was that you were trying to be realistic. You would fight as hard as you could for as long as you could but the truth was that sometimes life didn’t have a fairytale ending.
Maybe you would have to find a way to live alongside this curse. You weren’t giving up, of course not, but ignoring the possibility didn’t make any sense to you either. But you didn’t get to choose how he handled it and he didn’t get to choose how you did either. You came to a silent agreement to disagree and you kissed his cheek. “Come here.” He rolled onto his back and then urged you into his arms. You curled up against him, resting your head on his shoulder, your hand on his chest. It was surreal to have your naked body pressed up against his beneath your sheets. He urged the blankets higher to warm you. His hand caressed up and down your side beneath the blankets and you held each other in peace, listening to the rain. “Your heart is racing.”
“Yeah, that was a lot of adrenaline, Liu.” You felt him laugh beneath you and found his gaze. He had a delighted smirk on his face. “I’d tell you not to look so proud if you hadn’t earned the right to.” You stuck your tongue at him and he grinned wider. Closing your eyes, you settled against him, feeling the weight of exhaustion hitting you like a ton of bricks. “Can you stay?” How many times had you shared a bed before this? A dozen? This still felt so different.
“There’s nothing in this world that would make me leave, Y/N,” he whispered, holding you a little tighter. You could have cried. He made you feel so damn good. You snuggled him a bit closer.
“I’m glad, Liu.” You left a soft kiss on his shoulder and felt him do the same but to the top of your head, hand resting lazily in your hair. For some time you laid there in the rain and soon you felt his breathing slow, his body relaxing, grip changing. He’d fallen asleep and that was a lullaby in and of itself. To be in Liu Kang’s arms after making love to him in the middle of a storm was a dream. You had to pinch yourself to make sure it was real. Then you surrendered to the call of exhaustion and fell asleep on his shoulder.

New Beginnings Ch.2
Female Reader x Liu Kang/Kung Lao (Not sure which yet)
Note: Chapter 2. Friend said last one was good. So have another. >w<
Raiden had introduced himself properly and explained Mortal Kombat to you. You were at a complete loss. You hadn’t believed any of it at first, but Raiden had made it clear that this was not a dream or trick. The man shot lightning out of his hand! You were convinced. This was real. It had to be. You weren’t creative enough to dream this up. He was a god.
You were still in shock as Liu led you through the hallways again, this time avoiding any views of the outside. You were lost in your own mind until he stopped at a door. Again, a very simple door.
“This is your room,” He told you, eyes searching you again as he opened the door and gestured for you to take a look.
The room was small and very modest. A simple bed was pushed against a wall. A small wooden table and chair was pushed against the other side. Another doorway led to a small bathroom that, thankfully, had a modern-enough sink and toilet. It would do for one night at least.
“Will you stay and fight Shang Tsung?” Liu asked gently, feeling you out. Raiden had admitted that you didn’t need to help them. Raiden would not force you. But Raiden did say it was your duty. The dragon mark on your left shoulder blade was proof.
Funny. People always did say your birthmark looked like a dragon.
But would you stay? You weren’t sure. This was so much to take in. Why you? You had no experience fighting. You once punched a bully in grade school, but that was it!
You sighed and combed your fingers through your hair. “I don’t know,” You answered. Obviously it wasn’t the answer Liu had hoped for. “I just… This is crazy.”
He nodded. “I understand,” He said, sincerity in his voice. “It’s your decision.”
You turned and looked at him standing in the doorway. “You do understand, don’t you?”
He lifted a brow curiously. “Yes. I felt similar when I was told of Mortal Kombat as well.”
“When was that?”
He thought for a moment. “A little over ten years now.”
“Ten years? You’ve been training here for ten years?”
“Here? Yes. But I grew up in a shaolin monastery. I’ve been training most of my life.”
So he was a monk. Now his behavior made sense. “Did you get taken here out of the blue too?”
“No.” He shook his head. “I defeated a child trafficker and gained his mark. I unlocked my arcana soon after. Lord Raiden found me then. I’ve been here ever since.”
“You never left? At all? Not even to visit family?”
“Oh, yes. I am free to come and go as I please. I often leave to run errands for Lord Raiden.”
“Errands?”
“Yes.”
“Like eggs and milk errands?”
He laughed and shook his head. “To find people and information mostly.”
“Oh.” You weren’t sure what to say to that.
“Does this help you decide if you will stay?”
“I think I just need some time to digest this,” You admitted.
He nodded again. “Speaking of digesting,” He spoke, “Would you like some dinner?”
Oh, god, yes, you thought. You still had no idea when the last time you ate was. A day? Two? Raiden said you were passed out for quite some time. “Yes.” You nodded. “Please.”
Liu smiled again. You liked his smile. It was genuine. Kind. Sincere. He stepped back out of the doorway, allowing you to step out of the room.
You were led into a large room filled with fur rugs and handmade cushions. A low table was placed in the center and another man was already seated and eating. He looked up as Liu led you over.
“Brother, this is Y/N,” Liu introduced you. “She has the mark,” Liu told him as he sat across from him at the table.
“Hello.” You hesitated. This guy had a different energy about him. Or maybe it was just your anxiety. He, you, and Liu were all about the same age. And he, like Liu, was attractive. He probably had a nice ass too.
You weren’t sure if you imagined it or not, but Raiden’s laugh echoed in your mind. Averting your eyes, you lowered yourself next to Liu.
“You don’t look like a fighter,” the man said with a mouth full. His eyes were looking you up and down critically.
“Don’t be rude,” Liu chided as he watched.
The man glanced to Liu as he swallowed his food, then looked back to you. “My name is Kung Lao,” He introduced. “Descendant of the Great Kung Lao.” He was proud of himself.
“Oh…” Was he a prince or something?
“You have no idea who that is, do you?” Kung Lao accused, pointing his chopsticks at you.
A small shrug tugged up your shoulders as you shook your head slowly.
Lao grinned and shook his own head as he looked to Liu. He stopped once he noticed his brother’s disapproval. “So what do you do, Y/N?” he asked as he looked back to you. The way he said your name didn’t bring you much comfort in his presence.
As you stared at him, trying to think of how to answer him, he’d bitten into an egg roll while keeping eye contact with you. “Um… Not really anything, I guess,” you said, nerves starting to get the best of you. This guy was more intimidating than Raiden was.
“Nothing?” Lao asked. “You must do something. You’re breathing right now. That’s something.”
“Lao…” Liu warned and passed you a bowl of rice.
You took the bowl with a small, awkward smile to Liu and began to make your plate. Maybe if you just didn’t look at Kung Lao, you wouldn’t feel so judged. “Well, I’ve been a nurse for the past seven years… But it’s hardly anything to talk about. I just work at a small office. Nothing ever really happens there.”
“That’s an honorable career,” Liu said as he began to eat.
“If nothing happens there, why do you stay? Seems boring,” Lao commented.
“I kinda like boring,” You admitted. “I uh… I used to have real bad anxiety as a kid. Boring is comfortable. Routine.”
“Anxiety?” Lao asked.
“Yeah. It uh… It got so bad that eventually I was scared to leave the house.”
“That’s awful,” Liu said with a frown.
You nodded. It was always hard to talk about your anxiety. But Liu seemed mindful enough to not tease you or make you feel like an idiot. “Eventually I couldn’t take it anymore and went to see a doctor. They put me on medication for it. I was a new person after I got used to the meds. Felt like I could breathe again.”
“What made you so anxious that you would be afraid of leaving your house?” Lao asked, harsher in his words. What did you have to worry about compared to him.
“I don’t really know,” you admitted. “I was always teased as a kid. I was the weird kid. Didn’t have a lot of friends.”
“Childhood trauma?” Liu asked.
“Maybe?” You shrugged, not sure. You never really tried to get to the bottom of it.
“Is that where your fear of heights comes from?” Liu asked.
That one you did know. You gave a small laugh as you straightened up a bit. “No. That was me falling out of a tree as a kid.”
“Did you hurt yourself?” Liu asked.
You shook your head. “No. Just some scrapes and bumps. It just kinda stuck with me after that though. Never climbed another tree.”
“Well, at least you weren’t harmed,” Liu said as he ate.
“If you didn’t get hurt, then why were you so scared to climb another tree?” Lao asked.
“I don’t know. Guess it’s one of those weird things that happens when you’re a kid,” You told him.
“You have bigger things to worry about now, than falling from trees,” Lao pressed.
You stared at your plate of food. Lao was right. Scared of climbing trees sure did sound stupid now that you knew about Mortal Kombat. Weird, the idea of Mortal Kombat didn’t freak you out as much as climbing a tree. “Anxiety doesn’t ever really make sense,” You told Lao. “I used to be perfectly fine one minute, then crying and convinced I was about to die the next.”
“Were you being attacked?” Lao asked.
“Not by a person,” You answered.
“Animal?” Liu chimed in, curious.
You shook your head. “Anxiety.”
Lao just stared at you. It didn’t make any sense to him.
Liu was more curious than confused. “So your own mind was attacking you,” he concluded after a moment of thought.
You nodded. “Yeah.” You moved some food around your plate idly. “I know. It makes me sound crazy. But it hasn’t happened in years.”
“Because of the medicine the doctor gave you,” Liu concluded again.
“Right,” you answered.
“So, let me get this straight,” Lao began. “A nervous wreck of a person, who is scared of climbing trees, and has no formal training to fight, has the dragon mark?”
“Yeah, I’m kinda lost on that too,” you admitted.
Lao looked to Liu in disbelief. “Is Lord Raiden out of his mind?”
“I’m sure he knows something we don’t,” Lui told him.
“Mortal Kombat is only a few years away. She won’t be ready!” Lao exclaimed in annoyance.
“We’ll just have to do our best,” Liu answered and lifted some rice to his mouth.
“She’ll have to train every hour, every day, to be even remotely decent,” Lao said.
“Lord Raiden knows what’s best,” Liu said.
“Lord Raiden’s out of his damn mind!” Lao shouted.
You’d gotten used to people talking about you as if you weren’t there when you were a kid. But it hadn’t happened much since then. You set your chopsticks down. “Look, I don’t know if I ever could be ready for Mortal Kombat. I don’t know if I’ll even try. But do you really think it’s a good idea to talk that way about guy who literally shoots lightning out of his hands? And another thing, I am not a nervous wreck of a person!” You looked right at Kung Lao, clearly unamused.
Lao just looked at you, at a loss for words, for what seemed like forever. It was really only a few seconds before he looked to Liu and grinned.
Liu was already grinning, looking at his food.
With a huff, you pushed away from the table. “Sorry, Liu. I think I lost my appetite,” you said, annoyed… Doubting yourself… Still hungry, but you’d had enough of Lao.
Liu looked over with concern as you stood. He set his bowl down and stood with you. He was going to try and convince you to stay, but decided against it. “Would you like me to walk you back to your room?” He asked kindly.
You’d get lost if you didn’t have help. You nodded and turned for the door.
Lao was still grinning as he continued his meal.
Liu quickly joined you in the hallway. “Y/N,” He spoke carefully. “I apologize for Lao’s behavior. He’s not usually like that.”
You sucked in a stiff breath. You shook your head. “No. It’s okay. He’s right. I have no business being here.”
“Don’t let him scare you away. Lord Raiden believes you’re worthy. That’s enough for me. Lao will come around,” Liu said as he began to lead you down the hall.
Maybe. Maybe Raiden did know something you didn’t yet. “The monk I met when I woke up… Feng, I think. He said something about my arcana saving me.”
Liu looked at you, then nodded. “I heard about that. I don’t know the details though…”
“I don’t even remember doing anything,” You said.
After leaving you at your room, Liu returned to Lao. He sat back at the table. Looking to a still grinning Lao. He returned it.
“She has a fire in her,” Lao said.
“She does.” Liu agreed.
“I heard she passed your test,” Lao inquired.
Liu, glancing to him, sipped from his tea, then nodded. “Five times.”
Lao was surprised to hear that. He figured you’d only make it once if at all.
“It took some coaching the first couple times, but by the fourth one she was doing it on her own,” Liu explained.
“Impressive. If her anxiety is as bad as she said, she manages it well,” Lao said.
Liu nodded again. “How much of it was the medicine, I wonder.”
Lao had almost forgot. “Ah. That may be an issue.”
“Withdrawal from it may prove difficult.”
“Meditation training is first on your list,” Lao suspected. He knew how Liu thought.
Liu nodded. “How about yours. Did she pass your test?”
“I would have liked to see more, but it's a start,” Lao answered with a nod.
“You may get your wish if you keep up that act of yours,” Liu said.
“Oh, I intend to.” Lao smirked.
"Don't scare her away," Liu warned.
"She'll stay," Lao said with his mouth full. "She faced her fear five times. She's determined. And a nurse?" He nodded as he took another bite. "She commits herself to helping."

You two hadn’t had sex. You’d made out. You’d talked. You’d made out some more. You’d talked some more. You’d fallen asleep with Liu in his bed. His light snores had lulled you to sleep comfortably. Finally, relaxed.
You’d woken up the next morning when Liu had shifted. You felt his lips on your forehead and smiled before opening your eyes to look at him.
“Good morning,” Liu said softly.
“Sure is,” you said, then returned the kiss, but to his lips.
“Didn’t mean to wake you.”
“It’s alright.”
“Did you want to train with me this morning?”
Yes. You did… But you trained with Lao in the morning. And today was supposed to be Lao’s day with you as well. If you ditched him for Liu… You didn’t want to think what would happen. But, instead of telling Liu that, you shook your head and snuggled under his covers, inhaling his scent. “I’m gonna sleep a bit more. I’ll see you at breakfast?”
He grinned and nodded as he got out of bed. “Take your time,” he told you, grabbing his gi-top from the floor and tossing it into a basket. He took another moment to watch you with a smile before stepping out into the hall.
As weird as it was to notice, Raiden had not been acting like himself lately. Him being distant wasn't new. Raiden had seemed to keep a distance between everyone. But as you trained with Kung Lao, you noticed Raiden watching with a solemn expression.
When you finished training, Lao had given you a kiss. Oh, that kiss. It wasn’t a simple kiss. No. You’d learned that Lao wasn’t a fan of giving you those little pecks. When he kissed you, he did so with purpose. He’d held your face. His lips engulfed you. That alone could be all the encouragement you needed to train harder. As he pulled away, your smile brought him to smile in return. You could tell the kiss encouraged him as well. It was a reward for both of you. But instead of following him to Breakfast, you told him you would catch up later.
You watched Lao walk off… watched his ass a bit selfishly, then turned your attention towards Raiden. He was watching you.
You gave him a respectful bow.
He gave you a bow of his head.
"Lord Raiden," you addressed as you approached him. "Are you alright?"
He raised his brows to you. "Of course I am, Y/F/N."
"You don't look it," you pressed.
Raiden took in a stiff breath. "I assure you, I am fine."
"You can't lie to a nurse," you told him. "We know better."
That got a little chuckle from him. "You are quite observant."
"I was trained for it."
"I suppose you were."
"So what's bothering you? Is it me? Am I not training hard enough?"
"You are doing well."
“The kiss? Was that awkward for you?”
“No.”
"Then what is it?"
Raiden sighed. His glowing eyes shifted away from you. "Your issue has painfully reminded me of my own."
"Of the person you loved?" You’d remembered.
"I still love," he corrected you.
"Didn't you say it's been like five-hundred years?"
He nodded.
"They're… still alive?"
"...No.”
"Oh..." You weren’t sure what to say.
Raiden sucked in another breath. You could tell this was difficult for him to talk about. "She was killed in a tournament."
"What was her name?"
Raiden frowned a bit. "Helena Morana," he'd breathed.
You blinked at him. "A human?"
He nodded.
"What was she like?"
“Just and selfless. She used her magic to help others, even myself.”
"She was a witch?"
“A sorceress.”
"Like Shang Tsung?"
Raiden frowned. "No. Not like Shang Tsung. Shang Tsung is a snake corrupted by evil… Helena Morana… My Helena… Was once a beacon of light and hope for me." As Raiden stared at you, you could tell he was hurting. You could see the pain in his eyes. He wanted to say something else, but no words came from his lips. You frowned to him.
"You are concerned for me?" Raiden asked, now amused.
You nodded. "She must have meant a lot to you.”
“She still does.”
You were quiet then. The way he spoke of Helena, as if she still existed, made you wonder. He must have read your mind again, because he chuckled and nodded. He then offered you his arm. You took it carefully despite your confusion. He began to lead you through the halls.
"What do you know of Mortal Kombat's history?" He asked you curiously.
You cringed. History was never your forte. You barely passed your history classes in highschool. And you honestly didn't remember much of what Liu had told you. You blew out your cheeks.
"Ah." Raiden nodded, not at all disappointed. "It is a complicated history. Do not worry."
"Liu told me all kinds of things. I just…" You made a vague motion with your free hand.
"It is alright. You are being forced to learn much in little time."
"Yeah…" You frowned despite Raiden's understanding.
"He did not mention my Helena?" He asked.
You shook your head. “I don’t think so. I know he told me about a bunch of people, but I think I would have remembered your girlfriend. It’s kind of… odd.” He lifted a brow to you then. You quickly tried to explain yourself. “I mean. You don’t usually hear about gods falling in love with humans… Except for like, Greek mythology.”
Raiden laughed. A good laugh. But he said nothing as he continued to lead you through the halls. Eventually, they grew totally unfamiliar. You'd never seen this part of the temple, but you knew you were deep in. The air smelled different… musty.
Raiden stopped before a large wooden door and turned to look at you. "Prepare yourself. I know mortals are rather uncomfortable with what rests behind this door.” And before you could answer, the door had opened and revealed to you the source of that musty smell.
Tombs. Catacombs. Hundreds--No, thousands— of bodies were at rest, lined neatly along the walls, dressed in robes. Most of them were nothing but skeletons now. Some seemed mummified. You quickly realised who these people were as you stepped in: Monks. Your brows knotted. Why had Raiden brought you here? And why weren’t you grossed out?
Probably because you’d seen your fair share of disgusting things. Being a nurse wasn’t all bandaids and booster shots.
“Come,” Raiden said, pulling you from your head. You turned to see him walking further into the catacombs. You quickly followed. “Those who perish in my service, do not go forgotten,” Raiden said.
“Are all of these people… Did they all serve you?”
“Yes,” he simply answered. The further he led you, the more you were grateful he was there to guide you. The catacombs were an absolute maze.
“This place is insane…” You whispered as you looked from one body to the next.
“Those here are only the ones who wished to be here… or had no other place to go.”
You turned your head to look up at him.
“You may be put to rest here as well, if you choose.”
Your jaw stiffened. You were sure Raiden meant that as a simple offer, and not a warning of what was to come. “Thanks…” You said. “But… I don’t think I’d match the dress code.” Joke. Humor. Always when awkwardness hit.
Raiden glanced to you. “There is no dress code.”
Maybe he just didn’t understand that it was a joke. “The robes… And the… bones. I think I’d look too fresh.” Oh, God, what was wrong with you? You weren’t a slab of meat! “I mean—”
“They were not all just bones and robes when they entered here.”
“No, I… I guess so. I just… I’m sorry. You just threw me a curve ball and I wasn’t expecting it.”
“Ah,” He nodded.
You must have followed Raiden for several more minutes before you began to notice a change. Some of the bodies wore armor instead of robes. Were those… fighters? Former Earthrealm defenders? Wait, if those ones were here… “You’re taking me to her, aren’t you?”
Raiden let a small grin pull his lips.
“How did she die?” you asked. “I know you said in a tournament, but… how?”
“Shang Tsung defeated her. He took her soul.”
The catacombs had twisted and turned the whole way so far, but Raiden now led you into a large, circular room. The walls were lined with more remains, all in different clothing. Some with beautiful armor, some in simple clothing. One section of a wall in particular caught your eye. Nine bodies, each with their own burning incense, were lined up on their own shelves. And the shelves and remains themselves were neat and clean. Stepping closer to them, you could hardly see a speck of dirt nor dust on either of them. It was such a stark contrast to the rest of the bodies in the room, and in the rest of the catacombs, where the bodies had mostly seemed left alone. But these nine seemed actively taken care of. Why?
“Kung Lao’s ancestors,” Raiden answered your curiosity.
Lao’s ancestors. Nine of them? Surely there were more...
“This room is for Earthrealm’s former defenders,” Raiden answered your thoughts again.
“So these are all the past Kung Laos?” You asked, stepping back to look them all over as a whole. “Then this one here—” you pointed to the one you figured was the oldest.
“The Great Kung Lao,” Raiden answered. He sighed then and rested his hand on the edge of a raised, open, sarcophagus in the center of the room. “And this is my Helena,” Raiden said slowly, painfully. He wouldn’t even look at his lover’s remains. It was too painful. You looked, though. You couldn’t help yourself. You’d stepped right over and peered down into the stone sarcophagus.
She wore a dark dress. You weren’t sure what color it used to be. She wore simple shoes, not too different from the ones you were offered by the temple. Her hands were folded neatly over her stomach. Her hair was long and black and draped over her shoulders. And you could tell, even with how horribly sunken her face was, how mummified she was, that she used to be pretty… gorgeous even. You frowned at the sight. “She’s beautiful, Lord Raiden,” you said softly.
A small, single sound of disbelief left him. “She is nothing but brittle skin and bone now.”
“Well… Yeah,” Your frown sunk. You supposed it did sound silly to say such a grotesque sight was beautiful. “But… That’s not how you remember her.”
Raiden nodded, then let his grin come back to his face. “No, it is not.”
“She’s beautiful, Lord Raiden,” You repeated.
“She is,” he agreed.

wounded soldier fantasy {Mortal Kombat (2021)}
Summary: Liu Kang/Cole Young. "The wounded soldier fantasy means we're moments from doing it, right?" Cole chuckles under his breath, as if to distract himself from the fact that Liu Kang was both a) holding fire over his open wound, and b) very pretty. However, he must have been lounder than he thought, because Liu's movements had stilled, and when Cole cracked his eyes open, there's confusion written all over Liu's face, "it's... from a TV show," was all Cole could think of to explain himself.
A/N: warning for descriptions of acupuncture around a wound & non-descriptive cauterisation. an alternate take on the wounded soldier scene from mk 2021 ft. pining!cole (no romo relationship with alison in this fic because i don't condone cheating and there's no written justification because it's 3am. do i want to maybe write poly!alison/cole/liu ?? honestly yeah i do okay? maybe tomorrow). also the quote he uses is from Community's Season 1 episode Modern Warfare.

Cole would be the first person to admit that he was outclassed, hell, he'd admitted it sitting in the back of Jax's truck as Sub-Zero had hunted them through the streets of Chicago, but it had fallen on deaf ears, just as it continued to now. Honestly, despite being outclassed, Cole still thought it was unfair of Kung Lao to be fighting with a weapon he'd clearly mastered and had some supernatural control over. Cole had himself, just himself; it was bringing a knife to a fist fight, and he wasn't going to complain out loud because he knew they were just trying to pressure him and Kano into developing their own arcana, but it still hurt like a bitch when he got cut.
So now, here he was, in a quiet, secluded room with Liu Kang performing gentle, practiced acupuncture on the wound on his bicep. As always, Liu was quiet and intense about his work, and Cole's eyes roamed about the room to look at anything that wasn't the man who'd found them in the desert, who offered them shelter and explanations and training, who was good to them without even knowing them.
When a needle pulls, causes Cole to wince, Liu apologises faintly, as if out of instinct, eyes still focused on his work.
"No need to apologise," Cole assures after a moment, watching his hands as they worked, "you're doing your job... I assume," he says with a wry smile, and when he looks up, he meets Liu's faintly self-deprecating smile in return.
"I'm trying to help you; I know a little bit of pain is part of the process, but I'm still sorry," he explains, and looks back down, but he's still smiling slightly. It's a concise explanation, leaving Cole with no choice but to accept the apology, and try not to think about how grateful he is that Liu appears to be both an extraordinary fighter, and a gentle soul. There's few fighters Cole knows with such sincerity.
Liu's paused again.
"Yes?" And he's meeting Cole's gaze right as Cole himself realises he was staring. They were close out of necessity, but suddenly it felt too close, too intimate; Liu's voice was only a murmur and Cole had heard him loud and clear.
"Where'd you learn to do this?" Cole blurts out, and hopes Liu can't read anything in his expression. He drops his gaze to his free hand, picking at his nails as Liu hums for a moment, returning, once more, to the careful task at hand.
"Here, mostly; many of my brothers and sisters at the temple have come in hopes of assisting the training champions, many from a variety of different medical backgrounds," he delicately picks up another needle, tipping his head to the side as he looks at Cole's arm intently, "and as much as I train myself for Mortal Kombat, there is only so much my body can take in a day, so when I can, I ask, I train my mind and learn from the people around me."
"An all-around great guy, huh?" Cole says, and though the words themselves could have sounded jealous or mocking, coming from Cole they're simply complimentary as he's stoutly refusing to add the word 'perfect' no matter how loudly he's thinking it. Liu leans in a little closer to check his handiwork as he hovers the next needle over Cole's skin. Even at this angle, Cole can see his vaguely flattered smile - perfect, perfect, perfect.
"Next time can you say that while Kung Lao is in earshot?" Liu's tone is amused, and Cole's not quite sure why the request sits strangely in his chest; he's known Liu for a few days at most, he knows he and Kung Lao are close, this is probably just some longstanding teasing between the two of them -
"Why? He not take this kind of thing seriously?" Cole keeps his tone light, but Liu makes a noise in the back of his throat like that's not quite the case.
"Of course he takes it seriously; one of the reasons I learned at all was because I didn't want to keep bothering people when he managed to land a hit in training," finally, the needle was in, with another wince from Cole, but Liu straightened up, "but I'd just like to see his face when someone calls me an all-around great guy." His smile was so pleased and a little mischievous, and Cole's distracted by that smile enough so that when Liu's hand catches fire, Cole jumps.
Then Liu's free hand is on his other arm, warm and secure, steadying him, and the man himself is again apologising, this time for startling Cole, who feels like a fool.
"Are you okay? Do you need a minute before I begin to cauterise the wound?" He asks clearly, and Cole reaches out, gently grasps at Liu's free arm with his own, assures him that it's fine, and is given a faint squeeze of encouragement, of reassurance, before the free hand that had been on his arm moves to steady his other, the wound, and Liu steps so close, his hip is pressing against Cole's knee as he's sitting on the table.
The fire stops suddenly.
"I- is everything okay?" Cole asks, and looks up to see Liu Kang looking back at him with wide, concerned eyes.
"I can... I can suture instead, if the fire concerns you this much," which wasn't what Cole was expecting, and in the face of his confusion, Liu gives his wrist a gentle squeeze, meant to draw attention to the wound, but all Cole could see was Liu's fingers sitting gently over his pulse, "your elevated heartrate is causing the wound to bleed further; I can suture, or if you're concerned about my medical ability, I can get someone else to -"
"No, I- I'll be fine, I'll close my eyes or something," Cole babbled, squeezing his eyes closed as he willed the actual flush he could feel creeping up his neck to dissipate. Then, the sound of fire again, and Liu's hip still against his knee.
"You'll be okay," Liu's voice was a murmur, and the only thing Cole could think in that moment was -
"The wounded soldier fantasy means we're moments from doing it, right?" Cole chuckles under his breath, as if to distract himself from the fact that Liu Kang was both a) holding fire over his open wound, and b) very pretty. However, he must have been lounder than he thought, because Liu's movements had stilled, and when Cole cracked his eye open, there's confusion written all over Liu's face, "it's... from a TV show," was all Cole could think of to explain himself, "I'll close my eyes now." He assured, lamely, feeling his heart sink with embarrassment, though he's not sure if the implications of his quote would translate, so really he's found himself suffering from Schrodinger's Embarrassment.
There's silence, broken only by the gentle rush of flame, and then Liu is carefully removing the needles and mumbling to himself about where he put the bandages.
"You can open your eyes, by the way," Liu's voice gets louder as he voices it almost as an aside, and Cole winces, but not from the pain, carefully cracking his eyes open to see if he could gauge Liu's reaction before opening them fully. He's carefully preparing strips of cloth, focused once more, and Cole breathes a quiet sigh of relief before he looks to his wound, which is looking much better than it had moments ago. Not even close to healed, of course, Liu's not a medical miracle worker, but it's better, cauterised.
"You're a good doctor," he offers kindly, and Liu, now that the part that had required the most focus was over, gives a somewhat brighter grin.
"You're a good patient," and the silence that follows is easy and companionable, though Cole's still quietly wondering if Liu's picking up on the feelings he's terrified he's broadcasting. The last thing he wants is to make him feel uncomfortable after the man had been so king and generous to him.
"Tell me," there's something amused at the corners of Liu's smile when he finally breaks the silence, almost finished dressing the wound, "would it be selfish to ask Liu Kang to try and get you again in the future?"
"On purpose?" Cole frowned; did Liu actually not like him and was trying to be upfront about wanting Cole to be injured? "Kind of a dick move," Cole's tone was faintly defensive, and Liu's expression fell almost imperceptibly; if he weren't so close, Cole wouldn't have noticed at all.
"Then I'll have to find other ways to get this close to you."
Oh!
Cole swallowed hard in sudden understanding as Liu finished dressing the wound, though his hand came to rest, warm and secure on Cole's arm.
"Just ask," a warm smile was beginning to form at the edges of Cole's lips as he looked at Liu, "'cos I'd rather not have to injure myself just to be this close to you too."

A little something I whipped up for @heamatic​ with her Shinnok in mind.
No timeline alignment stuff here, just pure gift work based on a thread we’ve got on my RP account @bastardsunlight. Ft. Shinnok being creepy because that’s kind of his thing. Shinlao, because we haven’t come up with a ship name and I am appalled at our laxity. 
Also like, I can’t believe I’m saying this but neither writer is in any way under some fucked up impression that this is a good, safe, or non-toxic ship. We use the term to describe people who are involved IN SOME WAY. That way is not necessarily healthy. 
This story features no NSFW instances.
The dimly lit corridors of the Bone Temple are familiar passageways to Kung Lao as he moves effortlessly toward the audience chamber where he will soon be needed. Shinnok does not often offer his time, but today, he evidently feels generous. It is therefore his favorite creature’s duty to attend as well. Lao has long since stopped thinking of himself as a monk or even a former one, though his spiritual power is still formidable. That life is behind him. Netherrealm is—if not his home—his territory.
Emerging from a massive double door at one side of the infernal hall, he surveys the emptiness of it, the cavernous opulence of the mad god’s particular tastes. Deeper, under vents in the floor—Shinnok appreciates the screams of his captives—is the dungeon proper, though the audience hall very much resembles it. The high pillars are of dark reds, shining obsidian, and shot through with veins of other colors difficult to distinguish in the Stygian light of the realm of dishonored dead. Everything is bone and sinew and suffering here, fire and brimstone and ugly deception.
“You have kept me waiting, little one,” purrs the Elder God of Chaos from his throne. It is, naturally, constructed of bones—not all humanoid. He leans to one side and regards Kung Lao with those inscrutable eyes characteristic of his kind. “Do you wish to bring punishment down on yourself?”
“No, master,” responds Kung Lao, approaching the dais and then ascending to within reach of the massive entity’s long arms. If Shinnok wishes to pull his guts out and toss him back down like a used doll, he may do so from anywhere; why inconvenience him?
“Yet you offer no explanation…” The Elder God’s finger came out and lifted Kung Lao’s chin before sliding down his neck, over the pretty young man’s Adam’s apple, and down to collar bone and chest. He has left this one alive, appreciating the responsive heat and goose flesh of living skin. It bruises so prettily.
“I offer no excuse, my lord.” Kung Lao meets his eyes with an impertinence he loves and hates and oh he has made the right choice in this one. He had known the moment they met upon the field of kombat that Kung Lao would, indeed, make an excellent addition to his collection.
“You are wise beyond your years, it seems, if a bit pert.” Shinnok retracts his hand and waves it about. “Well, get on with it. I’ve better things to do.”
Quan-Chi materializes presently, late as well, though his arrival receives no acknowledgement whatsoever. His dark lord spares not a glance, instead watching the retreating back of the foolish monk who exchanged his own freedom for the life of his friend. Sentiment is worthless in Netherrealm and soon, the arrogant boy will learn this, if the old soul sorcerer must show him the way with his own two hands. His fists clench with the thought, imagining themselves about Kung Lao’s throat, squeezing until something breaks. The pleasure that arises from the thought sends a shudder down his spine.
Meanwhile, Kung Lao, unaware of this contemplation—or if he is aware, he cares so little, he doesn’t bother sparing the man, if a thing like Quan-Chi can be called a man, a single glance—turns to descend the dais. An oversized bone arm which has sprouted from the stone and bone floor of the mad god’s receiving hall offers itself, open-palmed, to the fallen monk. Kung Lao accepts it gracefully, laying his hand in the much larger one, knowing he has not displeased his lord on this day. The dry, brittle-feeling digits wrap gently about the young man’s hand as he makes his graceful retreat to discharge his duties.
Quan-Chi scowls at Kung Lao’s back until Shinnok actually turns his attention on his favored sorcerer—really the only sorcerer who will competently serve him with true, deep loyalty. It really is pathetic to watch, but sometimes a whipped dog is better than no dog. Shinnok has not even had to whip this one. He’s done it of his own accord. 
A strange Netherrealm native (as native as anyone can be in a realm of dishonored souls and demonic constructs born of the mad god’s fits of rage), it had been he who had approached the Elder God of rot and chaos to serve him. If Lord Shinnok could be said to be grateful for anything, he might have chosen that moment when Quan-Chi’s power had drawn him to his lord and master’s prison and set about events which would eventually free and embody him. Of course they have greater plans, but for the time being, this will do. 
This will do very nicely indeed, he considers, regarding his little pet’s taut backside as Kung Lao makes his way through the hall, the bone arm now sliding along with him, digging a furrow in the ground which seems to knit itself together just a few feet behind the abomination which now has its hand on the curve of Kung Lao’s lower back. Every sensation the bone arm feels, he also feels and the warmth of living flesh is delightful; he wants to grasp it hard, make the boy squeal with pain, make him bleed a little. Just a little.
Perhaps later.
“You have some… news?” Quan-Chi has been scheming—he is always scheming—to manifest his dark, mad god in Earthrealm and he clearly believes he has hit upon something. Shinnok can see it in the sparkle of the man’s eyes. Oh how he loves me, contemplates the Elder God with absolutely no reciprocity of that feeling.
“I do, my lord,” responds the sorcerer, bowing to one knee and standing to deliver his findings. Shinnok listens patiently, mind elsewhere as it must always be. He is chaos incarnate. There is little order to be had in Netherrealm beyond his absolute rule. Not much can hold the attention of an Elder God, in general, but Shinnok in particular has always allowed his mind to wander where it will. Aside from grand machinations of upset and overthrow which delight him endlessly, there is almost nothing of such magnitude in all of existence—no single object or concept which can so fascinate him. What could possibly be of such import that he, a deity, might need to focus his energies on it for any length of time? The boy, some part of his thoughts remind him sweetly. You’re quite captivated with your new toy, aren’t you? Ah but toys come and go. He will tire of this one… eventually.
That boy is now crossing the threshold of the temple’s audience hall, the doors gliding open before him. The dry heat of Netherrealm has ceased to move him and he walks out into it, ushering in the first petitioner, wondering if his lord and master will listen to this one, or slay it on sight. Any creature, demon, or lost soul who is bold enough to approach the Bone Temple and beg favors of the lord of the Realm is desperate, addled, or too cocksure for their own good. An obliteration by the death god is permanent, it is nothingness, non-existence. Somehow, that void is more terrifying by far than the screaming, burning, howling dimness of Netherrealm.
The first demon in line—he is first by virtue of having killed his way up the queue; the corpses of those before him are littered in pieces here and there as a testament to this, all still twitching and flailing as the death he grants is only pain—is a truly imposing figure, easily ten feet in height, with massive, twisted horns like a ram and a maw full of jagged teeth. His eyes ablaze with contempt. This expression does not soften when it lays its burning gaze (with all four eyes) upon the pretty, behatted monk—Kung Lao may not think of himself as a monk, but they do—but rather hardens to something bordering on obscene. The thing licks slavering lips with an exaggerated motion, clearly aiming to upset the small, soft-looking mortal, who does not respond, only gestures to the hall.
“The master will see you now,” he says in a neutral tone that betrays nothing. “Please, follow me.”
As they enter, the beast’s three-toed feet hit the ground much harder with each step than might actually be necessary, as if to emphasize his weight. Shinnok leans back upon his throne and assumes a semi-attentive posture. There is no real reason for him to pretend he cares; even the pretense is worthless, but for now, it entertains him. Some of the denizens of his realm wait the Netherrealm equivalent of months, even years, if Shinnok is indisposed and simply does not care. Lately, he has been taking more audiences, but then he has only lately had a… secretary. Kung Lao moves swiftly ahead of the demon, braid swinging tantalizingly behind his shapely back. The boy is an hourglass, upon close inspection, broad of shoulder, narrow of waist, and thick of hip and rear-end. The demon is inspecting.
“This is far enough,” instructs Kung Lao. “What are you called?”
The demon splutters with indignation. How could they not know him, the greatest general of the northern armies of Khadul, the god-king of the demons, the true creatures of Netherrealm! He has severely overestimated his importance, a grave error in the Bone Temple. The silent hall rings with its silence. An audience chamber ought necessarily to have an audience, but Shinnok prefers the cavernous immensity. It reiterates just how small his petitioners truly are. He eyes the demon, but has yet to speak. A bone arm sprouts near Kung Lao and it makes a twirling motion with its forefinger.
“Lord Shinnok bids you speak,” says the shapely boy through plump lips that look like they ought to be bruised and bloodied and used, in the creature’s foul opinion.
“I will speak,” he snarls, reaching out toward Kung Lao with the intent to brush past, “but with the lord of this Realm, he in whose temple we stand, not you, little slut. There are things I would do with you, yes, but speaking… it is not one of them.” The demon’s laughter rings out boldly into the hall, bouncing off the skulls and femurs and ribs and myriad other bones which make the walls, floor, and ceiling. Quan-Chi flinches minutely, though more at the brazenness of it than the sound. Shinnok is a statue. The bone arm has dissipated, crumbling like ash and ruin, leaving Lao alone. His lord is watching.
“No,” says Kung Lao, the syllable sharp and clear as a pretty bell rung in a mausoleum—and equally as incongruous next to the obscene, guttural speech of the demon. “No,” he repeats, “you do not speak. You bark like a mangy cur begging for scraps. Heel.”
He rushes the demon with lightning speed as it swings for him. There is a brief moment when it seems he might make a try for the beast’s sizeable testes, which swing visibly behind the scant loincloth one might say he is “wearing”. The idea occurs to him and a strange flash of melancholic amusement jolts Kung Lao’s spine before he disappears beneath his hat in a flash of red light and lotus petals. The creature, having never encountered this particular mortal, looks baffled and squats to examine the hat. Quan-Chi’s mouth opens to warn the beast of its insolence in his master’s presence, but a sharp gesture from said master silences him. His face heats with rage. How dare the boy show off this way? He will be punished—perhaps disemboweled or flayed. How delicious that would be!
As the as yet unnamed demon reaches toward the object to pick it up, the flash occurs once more and the deadly piece of headwear flips upward, turning vertically, its far edge held by the owner, the only man in any realm able to master such a strange weapon. The creature barely has time to cry out as Kung Lao draws the hat up its entirety, bisecting the thing and spilling its steaming insides along the floor. Midair, Kung Lao flings the hat, hard, toward Shinnok. Once more, Quan-Chi blanches, but the mad god catches it easily and holds it, bottom facing downward, toward his knees where he sits. This, he thinks, is the most fun I have had in millennia.
Kung Lao’s form plummets toward the gory mess he has made and for a brief, shining moment, Quan-Chi thinks perhaps he will fall and snap his neck and that will be that, one last escape attempt with the final spark of the monk’s spirit left to him. Lord Shinnok has no need of a broken doll. Of course this is a flight of pure fancy. Shinnok will find a use for that beautiful body, even broken.
Alas, rather than crashing to his death—or maiming, at least—Kung Lao’s body dives into a circle of blood, red light, once more accompanied by a flash and flurry of lotus petals. It takes only half a moment for him to repeat the trick, falling out of the hat and into his lord and master’s waiting lap. Shinnok allows the hat to settle upon Kung Lao’s head and once more tilts his chin upward so that their eyes meet.
“Far too impertinent,” he scolds, shaking his head, running his thumb over his little doll’s full, perfect, soft lower lip. Kung Lao is flushed with the pleasure of his accomplishment and hasn’t a spot of blood on his person. “Who are you to decide who I do and do not address, hmm? Is this not my domain?”
“His master would pretend it is not. One cannot serve two lords and you rule this Realm.” This is not a question, nor is it simpering. Kung Lao speaks cold, hard facts. “I merely saved you the trouble of hearing a dog bark.”
So bold, Shinnok thinks. I must curb this. But he does not punish his little favorite. The unpredictability delights him. Quan-Chi senses this misplaced delight and recedes from the receiving hall unseen, glowering over his shoulder and now hellbent on perfecting his machinations to bring his master to Earthrealm.

"The Story Is Confusing" If The Story Is Confusing Then You Don't Belong Reviewing Movies Cause You Have No Idea What A Good Movie Is!, "The Movie Has Horrible Writing" Have You Even Seen The Original Mortal Kombat Movie? Movie Review...Mortal Kombat (2021)

This gif is literally all I could think of as the movie progressed and surprisingly got worse.  I mean lets be real...at least for me, the bar is high.  After witnessing Infinity War on opening day and all 4 seasons of Attack on Titan (the greatest fiction ever created), the bar is high.  I expected at least a 4 out of this but to finish at a 2 (a “meh” on my rating scale) surprised even me.  The YouTube series was better than this and had an excellent story to build off of but instead they went this route.  How did we get here. 
It started off strong...with the foundation being the feuding Sub-Zero and Scorpion clans.  Then the story fast forwards to where we see a descent of the Scorpion clan being scouted by Jax and then hunted by Sub-Zero (who was everything in this movie).  After that things just got...interesting.  Introduction to other characters, sub par fights and music.  The fights and music were the best thing about the original and they didn’t even build from that. I needed some fighting like from Into The Badlands and I needed some techno music or a more dramatic score so I can be drawn into the fight.
I’m really trying to think what could have saved this film.  They should have focused on Scorpion and Sub Zero to be honest.  They started the film and ended the film and they were literally the best parts of the movie (all of the stuff in the middle was unwanted).  I am not a kid so the gore of the fatalities was not captivating and I hope they did bet that seeing that on the big screen was going to be the thing that made this movie.  I am really at a loss of words.  I don’t know why my mind was referencing the short lived YouTube series as a foundation for this and I was way off.  And to end with a Johnny Cage cliff hanger like that is thing to build off (When the original ended with Shao Kahn...come on!!!).  This is a no for me.
In "Mortal Kombat," MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage--or why Outworld's Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family's safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with. Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Hello! Im a big fan of your MK posts. So, I have an idea (albiet cliché, lmao.) Anyway, I had to help my snake shed the other day. It gave me an idea, could you include some of the pets the MKCrew may have? Of course they wouldn't be cannon, but some creatures you could see them having. If you do decide to do it, please include Johnny Cage and Erron. Thank you!

·        Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang); 110% a penguin. He fucking yeets an ice one at people in Injustice. He thinks their adorable. Plus, they mate for life, loyalty and sweet as fuck. They can live in cold temperatures (well most of them) So that’s perfect for him! And did he mention they are cute as fuck? I have some art of Sub feeding some penguins. Best thing I’ve ever bought.
·        Bi-Han; As Bi-Han he'd want a polar bear. Their soft and fluffy. But also, terrifying. Like, can you picture one of them, with Bi-Han on the back. Magical. Very scenic, enough to be on a card you send your aunt at Christmas. That and it’s better than Kuai’s fucking penguin. Fuck the penguins.
·        Noob; Is Saibot a pet? Potentially. He does lift him up and they do look ready to drop the hottest mix tape of 2019. But on a serious note. A bat. Cliché as fuck. But they like the dark, they hang upside down. Feared but oddly loveable. And they fit his new edgy "It’s not a phase Kuai!!!” aesthetic.
·        Smoke; A snake. Why? Low-key chilled. I imagine something like a ball python. Something that’s going to be chilled. That, and their perceived as scary as fuck, but are actually adorable. Just like he is! Will boop the snoot. It’s called Noodle and you cannot tell me otherwise. Sir Noodle of Noodleton. Would be his full title, has made him a little crown.  Will often bitch about people to it. Mainly about Bi-Han.
·        Kabal; A dog. He 110% has a dog. I agree with the general consensus he adopted a dog. He probably has a staffie. A fat, happy, rescue Staffie. It’s chilled, laidback but can be energetic. Just like him. This’ll only apply to Post-Burn Kabal. Pre-burn wants a dog. But knows he has no time... unless he’s got a cute neighbour who doesn’t mind dog sitting when he’s away. Now I want to write fluff about this HC.
·        Erron Black; either a horse or a deer.  A horse is an obvious shout. But like I don’t know why I’m saying deer. I can just imagine him explaining it to Kabal like “their majestic as fuck” and that’s probably the reason why I say deer. I imagine he’s the type of person to take people camping. Just to look at the fucking deer. He’d be like that vine, were someone sneezes and scars the deer off. “Oh, nice one Kano"
·        Cassie Cage; Going out on a limb here to say, she has a dog. And not a small dog either. I imagine she’s got a German Shepherd, but she gave it a really soft name. Just to psych people out. Like “Oh you wanna meet Snuzzles?” and it’s just this hulking ex-military dog she rescued. Scary on the outside. Soft on the inside.
·        Johnny Cat; Yeah, he’s got a Sphynx Cat. Where did it come from? It was A cat that was used on set for one of his movies. It was meant to be one of the baddies cats, but he could not stop fawning over it. And that’s how Beerus Snagglepuss came to be. He loves that fucking cat. It’s his mascot now. Matching sunglasses as well. Tweets about it loads.
·        Kano; Is an animal himself so doesn’t really have a pet.  I would not trust him with anything. Because I’m pretty sure in one of his taunts, he stabs and eats a lizard. Him and Baraka are similar on that field, but you know, Baraka is more of a gentleman and probably smells better.
·        Takeda; He wanted a rabbit. But Hanzo wasn’t having it. So, Jacqui being the absolute good-hearted princess she is, got him one to keep on the farm. Hoppy the bunny is its name. And it is so fucking soft. He loves it. Best gift ever. Just don’t tell Hanzo… Jax cannot believe he’s been saddled with a fucking rabbit. But he loves it too.
·        Havik; No pets but moths flock to him. Why? Because they are chaotic as fuck too. He is their lamp. Before opening Hotaru’s wardrobe and letting them in, so they can chew holes in his clothes. Chaossss.
·        Scorpion (Hanzo Hasashi); Does not own pets. But he has a soft spot for dogs and cats. He doesn’t have time for himself, let alone a pet. But like, when he spies a cat or dog. He kinda sneak pets it. He’ll make sure nobody is looking and BAM pets. Even if anyone saw him petting the cat, are they going to tell someone? No. Because nobody would fucking believe them.
·        Geras; Kronika is the type of person to say ‘I’m allergic to animal hair’ when she’s not. Just so nobody can have their pets around her. Sorry, not fucking sorry. So poor Geras has been lacking in the pet department. His eternal loneliness would be made a lot easier if she allowed him to have a pet. I honestly think he’d like cats, more specifically a quirky looking rescue cat. He’s alone and thinks he needs an equally as quirky companion.
·        Skarlet; I think she’d have a snake. Not a small one either. Like a massive python or a constrictor. She’d be the type to lounge around with her snake. She gives me major villainess vibes, but on a Dark Queen level. And I fucking love it. So yeah, I think a snake fits her aesthetically and personality wise. Scary on the outside but loveable. That is a running theme for most of the Kombat Krew, to be honest.
·        Raiden; He. Is. A. Cat. Person. He loves them. Oh my god look at their lil ears twitching. Legend says Sky Temple is a safe haven for strays. He just loves them. They are calming, cute and little sweethearts. He will never be caught fawning over them in front of others. But, showing him a cute cat is one sure way to get out of trouble. It’s why Kung Lao will bring the cutest one with him, when Raiden has requested a meeting. He can’t shout at him if he’s holding a purring bundle of joy.
·        Fujin; Whilst Fujin likes cats. I imagine he has a pet bird. Something like a Falcon, it’s not really a pet, but more of a wild friend. He respects nature too much. This bird will come constantly to see him, bring him messages and it’s a friendship that was built up over time. He likes birds because they need the wind to fly. They are also free to go anywhere they want and see everything and anything they want. Something he sort of envies. Plus, he loves the sound of them. The Dawn Chorus is the perfect meditation music.
·        Rain; Totally has a tiger or some exotic big cat. He is literally a Disney Princess to me at this point. Something that is intimidating to others but soft and sweet to him. I always imagine rich people have exotic pets and well this is it. I do not promote keeping them as pets. But if we are talking what they would canonically keep, it would be something like a big cat. Or maybe a peacock. Something flamboyant.
·        Jade; Even before the Kotal ship set sail. I always imagined Jade having an affinity with big cats. But unlike Rain, I kind of pictured Jade having more of an alliance and understanding with them. Rather than having one as a pet. Maybe one she rescued as a cub, raised up, set free and it comes and aids her from time to time. She is so perfect and has a heart of gold. It would be hard not to see this. I am getting all soft and fluffy imagining this now.

Shao Kahn: Ruler of Outworld (2/5)
Mileena and Kitana handed Kano their weapons, then Kano proceeded to examined anything that could be modified with his cybernetic eye, he saw a lot of potential in their weapons, especially to modify them to fight a blood army.
“These weapons have a lot of potential.” Kano raised his eyebrows, turning to Kabal.
“In what ways?” Kabal asked.
Kano then began to explain to Kabal all the things that can be changed, modified, and buffed.
“ ‘Kay then. Follow me” Kabal said. Taking the three of them to his workshop. Erron, intrigued, joined them. To see why the hell they needed to fight off a blood army.
“There are a few things I need to know, how big is the army?” Kabal asked.
“The army was a very sizable one as far as we know, though there could be a lot more soldiers.” Kitana replied.
Kabal nodded, reaching for some of the things he needed to make this work.
“You looking to kill them? Or just rough em up a bit?” Kabal asked.
“Eliminating them is optimal.” Mileena replied.
Kabal nodded, while reaching into a bucket of blades he had.
Erron was still curious as to what their situation was, and decided to ask about it.
“Now tell me, why the hell do you both need to fight off a blood army.” Erron asked, rasing an eyebrow.
“Skarlet.... Skarlet has an entire blood cult, she took our father’s place and kidnapped him. All we are trying to do is help get him out of there.” Kitana nodded.
“Skarlet...” Erron snarled, clenching his fist. It didn’t help that Erron already had a terrible history with her, but now she has an entire army?
“Wait right here.” Erron said, walking in main room to get something he’d been hold onto ever since Skarlet and him split. When he had gotten back to Kabal’s workshop, he handed Kabal to small blades.
“The hell is this?” Kabal asked
“Razor blades.... they ain’t just any type of blades though. These ones are blood magic resistant.... I designed these specifically for Skarlet.. Sonafabitch tried to kill me.” Erron growled
“Can we put these anywhere though?” Kano asked.
“Of course you can, Kano. It’s not even bigger than my pinky. Here, lemme show you.”
“Yes, I know. But can we put it somewhere without it messing anything up?” Kano wondered.
“They are retractable, so yeah. You can” Erron nodded.
“Perfect, I’ll get started on it.” Kabal said, gathering up all he needed and moving it to another table.
“Ah, the two of you can make yourself comfortable. I have a room back there with a couch” Kano nodded.
“We’re okay, thanks. I’m interesting in seeing how you all work together.” Kitana said.
“Go right ahead then.” Kano nodded, continuing the project.
Mileena and Kitana watched as the three of them we’re busy at work. They were amazed at how well they all work together. And that’s what the two of them did until the weapons were done being modified.
After awhile, Kabal was finally done modifying weapons and brought them to the siblings.
“There we go.” Kabal nodded, handing the two of them their newly modified weapons. They took a minute to look at all the changes, and were very impressed at the end result.
“Thank you, Kabal.” Mileena said, before handing him the money she had.
“Thanks, appreciate it.” Kabal nodded
The siblings nodded back at Kabal, and before the two of them could make it out the door, Erron stopped them.
“Wait.. just a second. This whole “blood army” thing. I’m interested, I wanna help.” Erron said, bluntly.
They were all a bit taken back about how openly Erron wanted to get back at Skarlet, but Mileena and Kitana weren’t to turn down help.
“We need all the help we can get” Kitana nodded.
“Excellent... you both comin’ too?” Erron asked Kabal and Kano.
“I’m not one to turn down an adventure.” Kano shrugged.
“Neither am I, let’s do this.” Kabal said, Grabbing his hookswords.
The siblings nodded, they were very open to help so the fact that the three of them wanted to work with them made things so much easier. The siblings opened a portal to outworld, and the 5 of them progressed to outworld.

Shao began to wake up, he pushed himself up, looking around but didn’t see anybody there. He huffed, plopping back onto the ground. He was still frustrated, more or less he was worried about his daughters. He had no idea if they were okay, if Skarlet harmed them, and it bothered him.
Skarlet heard Shao’s huff, and decided that it would be a great idea to talk to Shao about him joining her clan. If he joined, amazing. If not, that was fine. He wouldn’t be the one paying for it.
Skarlet entered the room Shao was captured in, getting an unapproved sigh from Shao. Skarlet wasted no time, she cut straight to the chase.
“You are going to be one of my blood soldiers, Shao Kahn. Whether you like it or not, you are no longer the ruler of outworld. And you are in no place to disobey your empress.” Skarlet stated.
“It will not happen Skarlet... I will not work under your name. And if you harm my daughters, you will pay for it.” Shao Kahn growled.
“That’s sad, the fact that you think you can attempt to kill me and get away with it. If you try to kill me, my soldiers will show no mercy. They will kill you so fast you will forget what it’s like to stand.” Skarlet sneered, playing with a ball of blood she had in her hand.
“And you think that scares me? You think that I am afraid of death?” Shao Kahn laughed, it was seemingly a joke to him.
“You might not be, but I’m sure your daughters are.” One of Skarlet’s arrogant soldiers smiled
And it was enough to anger Shao, he shot up. Getting as close as he could to the soldier, sticking his arms out of the cell as if he was going to choke him.
“You! Stay away from my daughters, or I’ll have your neck...” Shao Kahn threatned, his eye showing murderous intent, and voice displaying nothing but rage.
“You are in no position to threaten the life of my soldiers, understand?!” Skarlet snapped
“He is lucky I am inprisioned, because things would not have ended well for him” Shao spat, angrily.
Skarlet rolled her eyes, realizing that this was going nowhere, she gave him a time limit.
“You have 3 days to decide. Now, I need one of you to watch Shao Kahn for a little bit. Make sure he doesn’t try to take his life.” Skarlet commanded.
“I will do it, nobody else does it better” A cocky soldier insisted, grinning.
“Do not disappoint me.” Skarlet commanded, handing him keys to Shao’s cell.
Skarlet and the rest of her comrades exited to room, leaving Shao Kahn alone in the room, with this soldier.
“Feel sorry for ya, but at the same time I don’t. The strong while prosper, while the weak perish” The soldier chuckled.
Shao didn’t say anything, he was only focused on the key dangling from the soldiers pants. He watched as the soldier turned his back on Shao, leaning his back against his cell.
Bad move on his part, Shao got up, approached him while his back was still turned to him. And wasted no time, he got ahold of his neck. And snapped it.
The soldier’s limp body fell to the ground, it was disturbing how much it reminded him of the time he snapped Kung Lao’s neck, and he didn’t like it.
He stuck his arm out of the cell, grabbing the key. Then taking the key and using it to unlock his cell.
“Freedom... at last” Shao Kahn whispered to himself. He looked back at the soldier he had just killed, and shrugged. He didn’t feel bad for him at all, arrogant people get what’s coming to them eventually.
Shao Kahn looked for all the possible ways to escape, he spotted a window, seeing it as his way to finally escape. He approached the window, the drop was going to be hard, but could survive.
He opened the window as quietly as he could, looking for anything he could use to climb down, but he found nothing.
Shao jumped, bracing himself for the landing he was about to experience. When he landed, it took a good minute for him to get back to his senses.
Shao looked up, not at all regretting what he had just did. Anything that allowed him to see his daughters again was a win in his book.
He then began to walk, heading for the throne room without any of Skarlet’s blood soldiers spotting him

The five of them arrived at the throne room, Kano, Kabal, and Erron all looked around the throne room. Admittedly, it was a nice looking place. Everything was in place, and organized dispite what the girls were going through.
“So what’s our plan?” Erron asked.
“I need to pay Jade a visit, I wish for her and Kotal to aide us on this mission” Kitana replied.
“I wonder if Kotal got what he ordered yet, that shipment company can be a real pain in my ass.” Kano huffed.
“Let’s just hope that he did.” Kabal shrugged
“Where’s Jade and Kotal?” Erron asked.
“I believe they are in edenia. If not, Jade is in earthrealm. Probably taking care of business” Kitana replied.
“Perhaps Tanya could help us as well.” Mileena suggested.
“Tanya would be optimal, yes.” Kitana said.
“Okay, so when are we going? Do we need anything?” Kabal asked.
“Well, we aren’t going to Kombat with them. So I suppose we can go now” Mileena said.
The three men nodded, as Kitana opened a portal to edenia. The five of them entered the portal, heading in the direction of Jade and Kotal’s Palace.

The five of them arrived in edenia, they all walk in the direction of the palace, in need of seeing Jade and Kotal
The entered the palace, seeing Kotal and Jade having a conversation. Before Jade could continue, she noticed the five of them standing at the other side of the palace, and decided to approach them.
“Kitana.” Jade smiled
“Jade.” Kitana smiled back.
The two of them greeted each other with a hug, as any pair of best friends would do after not seeing each other for awhile.
“What brings the five of you here?” Jade asked.
“Skarlet... She kidnapped our father. She apparently had a whole clan of her own.. and we only only wish that you and Kotal aide us” Mileena pleaded.
Jade couldn’t help but feel pity for the siblings, seeing as their father was stripped away from them. Though, confused as to why the other three men were with them.
She looked over at Kotal, and they both agreed. The least they could do is help them out.
“We will be more than happy to help you” Kotal nodded.
“Thank you, Kotal.” Kitana replied.
“And those three, why are they with you?” Jade asked out of curiosity.
“For the same reason as you both, we want to help” Kano responded.
“Kano...my Macana. I still have not recieved it.” Kotal informed.
“Are you..” Kano stopped himself from having a fit. The last thing he wanted to do was start cursing in anger in front of everybody.
