Every willow in the area was broken or tore up. We knew more than one bull was using this area to rut hard. We slipped into an old oxbow that was extremely flooded with the rain and set up wind just right. One low grunt had this guy on fire he came in slow grunting and raking every willow on his path. Cover was thick and shooting was going to be tight. Watching him bust willows at 15 yards full draw felt like an eternity! He came out of the willows straight on to me. I held On hoping for the turn. At 8 yards he turned slight quartered and he got hit good double lung. Another shot at 18 through a tiny hole on the willows crushing him again. We were tagged out! Unfortunately he fell in the deep water, which made butchering fun and it’s started raining again. Ha. 🐐: Ahora que empieza a hacer fresquito es cuando entra la nostalgia del verano, ¿verdad?😂 El calor sofocante sin tregua de la montaña ( además sin sombrero dado que me lo dejé en el regugio de #respomuso ), la sudada que te pegas para subir los riscos que te rodean y coronar la cima que más te llama ( en mi caso el 3000 de los #picosdelinfierno ) y finalmente bajas deseando plantar campamento y descansar... ¿Y qué es lo que más me apetece en el mundo cuando encuentro sitio para pasar la noche? Pues un baño de agua congelada y pura salida de las entrañas de la montaña que reviva mi esp��ritu y mi cuerpo maltrecho, secarme al solecito sobre una roca caliente y disfrutar de una sensación de relajación única e inigualable por el lugar en el que me encuentro, feliz por la mera existencia de todo cuanto rodea. Una verdadera terapia integral... ojalá todos/as los que verdaderamente veáis en la montaña lo que nosotros vemos y sepáis apreciarlo como merece disfrutéis de esta experiencia tanto como la disfruté yo. Pienso en un hombre sabio ( @conciencia_bienestar_salud ) con el que me gustaría compartir este lugar y conversar por años, o en mis hermanos de subimosriscos, el puñales🗡🗡🗡 y el canalla🦉, que se perdieron todo este tramo de la ruta que hice en solitario y que disfrutarían como enanos en todos los aspectos imaginables 😆 Por suerte pude compartir esta experiencia con mi chica, que se vino desde Madrid a #pirineos con su padre y su hermano a pasar una noche bajo las estrellas y un día largo de pateo conmigo en este lugar maravilloso... desde entonces la quiero más si cabe 😘 Coooonclusión! So here’s an update on my adventure. Upon many request from family and friends to share pictures and updates I will now do my best to do so. This is the place I’ve been living for the last two weeks. In a small cabin by the foot of a rainforest. The cabin got no electricity or internet connection and access to toilet is down a small path. I’ve been working at a place called Eden’s Door which I found through the wwoofing organization. As I am trying to eliminate expenses, while trying to arrange a hitchhike with a sailboat going north. Working for bed and bread seemed like a very nice option. Additionally I’ve meet really nice people working here, experienced and learned about the nature and culture in a way that make me feel less like a tourist. On day 7 we had to make a move. Water was raging so we loaded up and made it 2-3 miles downriver. Just above a rapid section and really good looking moose terrain. All the gravel bars were gone so we had to make die in the silt and willows. We planned to hunt here for several days and hope the water levels would subside. We called this guy into 10 yards that afternoon and decided to pass him up even though he was a legal bull. Y’all it’s another rant, buckle up. . I want to talk about the WILDLY unrealistic standards we put on women and their bodies. . Cellulite is normal. Stretch marks are normal. Not having a perfectly flat stomach also fucking normal. I hate how much pressure we put on women and their weight. It’s so unhealthy. So today I decided to let y’all know what I weigh. . I’ve thought about doing this for a long time but have always been scared because it’s the heaviest I’ve ever been. But it’s also the strongest I’ve ever been. And I’m 6 sizes smaller than I was in high school 🤷🏻‍♀️ . YOUR👏🏼WEIGHT👏🏼DOESN’T👏🏼DEFINE👏🏼YOU . I weigh anywhere between 165 and 172 on any given day. Which according to #bmi makes me drastically overweight. And honestly this made me nervous for a long ass time. Because for years I’ve been told consciously and unconsciously that my weight defines my worthiness. The truth is, it does not have a fucking thing to do with it. . I love my body. I love how strong I am. I love how much weight I can pick up. I love how hard I can climb. I love how much of a @transformcolorado class I can crush. And still I often have that nagging voice in the back of my head telling me I shouldn’t weight this much. So today I’m sharing it with y’all to also share this. FUCK THAT VOICE. . You are so much more than a number on a scale or the size of your pants or anything else body related. You are a force of nature and your weight has nothing to do with how magical you are.
