#NOT EVEN LANGA IS NOTICING HES ACTING WEIRD
Hi........if you don't mind me asking, who are your favorite romantic relationship's couples in books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series (can be canon or non-canon)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
Hey! Sure, I can do that.
In comparison to the big amount of ships I have I only have a handful I'm actually super serious about. So here are a few I like:
Merthur (Merlin + Arthur) from BBC Merlin: This goddamn kids show still has me deep in my feels after all this time. They're doing things to me. It's so sad that the series didn't get the treatment it needed and deserved because it was just for children. It had so much potential! The mutual trust and protection between the two is *chef's kiss*. They're soulmates in the most literal sense and belong together, are canonically destined to be with each other. What more do I need to say? And still, they're not canon. Unbelievable.
Andreil (Andrew + Neil) from the aftg trilogy: they have a super interesting, thrilling story, both the plot of the book and their relationship are fascinatingly fucked up and it draws you in. Despite their many issues and their rocky start they do have a really healthy relationship based on mutual trust, support and protection. I also like the imagine where we add Kevin and make it a throuple.
Mikayuu (Mikaela + Yuichiro) from Owari no Seraph: They're not canon but if they don't get together at this point it'd literally be unspeakably disrespectful because the way they act is so romantic, I've never seen a non-canon couple be so obviously in love. This is the most blatant queer baiting I've ever witnessed. Anyways, you could argue that they have a reason for their feelings, meaning that they're not genuine and only fabricated emotions, but idc, they're still obsessed with each other. Just because they have a reason for feeling the way they do doesn't mean that it's not genuine. Literally made for each other. The other characters also notice their fixation on one another.
Hualian (Hua Cheng + Xie Lian) from tgcf/ heaven official's blessing: I literally just finished this book series and already love them so much. It's a tragic and comedic story at the same time. I love when those genres are well balanced so that one doesn't destroy the other. They have their weird moments, like Hua Cheng being a little bit of a creepy stalker, which is why at some point I was slightly intimidated by him and completely understand why the side characters were terrified of him, but we know he's a great person and would never deliberately do anything harmful. They have a healthy relationship and as you may have noticed that's a really important aspect to me. BUT I do love angst and that's why beefleaf (He Xuan + Shi Qingxuan) from the same franchise are very dear to me as well, even though they wouldn't make a healthy couple.
Kanej (Kaz + Inej) from Six of Crows: badass characters that make me so emotional istg. But they make a power couple like no other. We stan the queen and the king. Again, a healthy couple, even though they're murderers. I just love how profound their relationship is. It isn't easy to cope with that kind of trauma and still want to be together. Also, the other two ships from soc are amazing as well.
Patrochilles (Patroclus + Achilles) from The Iliad: the OG gays. This story takes place 3200 years ago and it still makes me lose my mind when I think about it.
Caitvi (Caitlyn + Vi) from Arcane: I love their dynamic. They are both so cool in their own ways. And I have the biggest crush on Vi. I'm so impressed with this show tbh.
Yumihisu (Ymir + Historia) from Attack on Titan: Although aot/snk doesn't focus on romance at all and I like it that way, I do really like these two and I wish they could've gotten a chance.
Renga (Reki + Langa) and Matchablossom (Joe + Cherry) from SK8 the Infinity: Both are great ships respectively. The whole show is just for shipping and I love it.
Honourable mention: Khunbam (Khun + Baam) from Tower of God: I love colour coded relationships, they're kinda blue and red like Renga and Merthur. It's just funny to me that they don't romantically care about anyone else and their friendship is so intimate, at least from Khun's side, and while I don't think that they're ever gonna be a couple, it'd certainly be funny if the creator just pulled a gay trap on the readers. Reel them in with a battle based shonen webtoon and some straight baiting and then boom actually it's been setting up the queer ship all along. Oh how I'd laugh.
Honourable mention 2: Yoonmin (Yoongi + Jimin) from BTS: I'm sorry. It's just that I loved this ship when I still went to school. I hyperfixated on them because I needed something to obsess over to distract myself from my crippling depression. I don't normally ship real people because I don't want to make them uncomfortable, it's just for fun or as a joke. I am not serious about them, I just projected ship dynamics like grumpy + sunshine onto them and it brought me great joy. I even wrote a ff au when I was 14. Oh heavens, I have sinned.

Chubby Tummy
Fandom: Sk8 the Infinity
Paring: Lee!Reki, Ler!Langa
Word Count: 2510
Warnings: Body issues, Self conscious/self loathing issues, mentions of bullying and slight fat phobia.
Summary: Reki inures his leg and that causes him to not be able to skate for awhile and he gains a bit of a tummy he isn’t a fan of. Even after recovering, it’s still there. He refuse to tell Langa but what better way then to tickle it out of him? But when Langa goes to tickle his tummy…
_______________
“What’s been up with you lately?” Langa had asked, his voice laced with a twinge of concern. Recently, he had noticed.. Reki had been acting rather strange the usual. He couldn’t exactly place why. While the bluenette knew his boyfriend excruciatingly well, he could sometimes be a bit of an airhead and not understand certain things. So when Reki started oddly following Miya’s instructions on a diet, and eating normal sized portions instead of nearly matching up to his own portions, Langa was a little weirded out. Not only that, but Reki wasn’t as enthusiastic about going swimming, or he was doing things like insisting he always needed his hoodie on. Perhaps the Ocean-Eyed-Canadian would never understand, hence, why he decided to ask.
Reki gave him a confused look at the sudden question. It was just like Langa, he always asked about feelings for some odd reason.. but.. he couldn’t tell him. He knew Langa would immediately tell him it was fine.. but he was.. admittedly embarrassed by it. He had gained.. a bit of a tummy. And he had nothing against anyone who had a little bit of chub but to Reki, he couldn’t say he was a fan of it on himself. It puckered out just slightly, showing off all the scars he had from skating and patterned with gentle and light freckles over his skin… and he absolutely hated it.
“Huh-? What are you talking about..?” Reki asked back, cocking an eyebrow in the air as he looked at him. Langa was giving him that blank stare that you could only see the concern in if you knew Langa. And oh.. how Reki longed to stare in his eyes forever, but he got quickly side tracked by Langa’s next question. “You’ve been acting all weird lately. You go quiet when something’s up. You haven’t been talking as much,” Langa observed as he grabbed a drink of his water.
Reki finally looked away, his amber eyes shooting to the floor, his fingers were twirling a pencil that he had been using to sketch in his note book. “I’m fine,” he murmured and he heard Langa let out a small sigh, that’s how he knew Langa definitely wasn’t falling for that. Just like Oka, he had gotten way more than used to his little ‘I’m fine’ episodes where he definitely wasn’t. Langa had stood up from the floor, approaching the bed in a certain way that made Reki’s heart skip a beat. The redhead’s back was soon pressed flat up against the wall, the former snowboarder’s blue eyes staring intently into his own.
“Are you going to tell me or do I have to make you?” Langa asked him, and Reki swore his heart leaped into his throat at the threat. Langa only used one method to get information out of him… and that was to tickle the absolute hell out of him. Reki would be lying if he didn’t say he enjoyed it… and he didn’t know why he did. But the feeling of being tickled was exciting to him, so instead of a normal person and immediately running away or giving into his demands, he just stared at him with flushed cheeks.
Langa gave him a look of determination. “Safe word is… sketch,” he said, eyeing the pencil and paper that Reki had been using before tossing them both to the side. Reki then gasped and moved away as Langa cornered him on his bed, the redhead was already giggling like crazy despite the fact that Langa hadn’t even managed to touch him at all. He brought up his knees to his chest so Langa couldn’t reach his upper body so… Langa went for a different route. He gently began to drag his nails over Reki’s knee which caused him to shriek. He slammed his legs down where Langa would then grab one of his ankles, softly scratching his nails over his socked foot.
Reki would explode into high pitched laughter and giggles. He was stupid ticklish everywhere and oh gosh, it tickled so badly. He curled his toes as Langa repeatedly raked his nails down the trapped foot which the redhead swore he was already going crazy. That motion on his feet always drove him insane. He curled his toes as he flopped around, trying very hard to not kick Langa with his other free leg.
“NO- eheheeheh- Lahahahanga- c’mohohon man! StahaHAHAHAP!!” He shrieked as Langa gently scratched beneath his toes, and Reki would snort hard. Even Langa was chuckling now, his boyfriend was so insanely ticklish everywhere and he thought it was adorable. Reki didn’t know this, but he could tell that he was loving every second of this, as he knew Reki secretly loved being tickled.
Langa stopped just to move up and straddle his waist. Reki blushed darkly, and would of freaked out had Langa not almost immediately began to squeeze and gently kneading into his ribs which caused the redhead to laugh all over again. He would twist around frantically, a few times pushing on Langa’s hands to get free.
“Should I try counting? I’ve always loved that game,” Langa asked and Reki shook his head at that.
“Nohohoho- I- ehehehe- I hahahate thahahat gahahame-“ he whined out in reply.
Langa chuckled and began to move down, beginning to stick his hands beneath Reki’s shirt to start tickling his stomach and the redhead gasped out immediately, his eyes going wide. “Sketch!” He almost shouted. Langa looked a little surprised at how.. frantic his boyfriend has shouted it and he climbed off of him gently but fastly.
If Reki didn’t look embarrassed before this entire ordeal… he definitely looked embarrassed now. Shameful even and he wouldn’t even meet Langa’s eyes. It was quiet for awhile, Reki didn’t want to speak and Langa was patiently waiting for some sort of explanation for what happened.. but after awhile of waiting, he gently moved forward. His hand gently caressed the side of Reki’s face… and the redhead’s amber eyes finally gazed over to Langa’s concerned bright blue ones. “Love… what’s going on? You know you can tell me..” he said gently. He grabbed his tanned hand, kissing the back of it over and over again. He would shower him with all the love and affection that Reki would need.
Reki looked away again. He hadn’t ever told anyone just how shameful he was of it, it was so embarrassing to him. “I…” he said, pausing after a few moments.. he was gradually looking more upset about this.. and he looked like he was in an uncomfortable territory. He.. wasn’t the best at expressing or talking about his feelings and he was trying really hard to figure out how to do this. But Langa… oh god Langa, he was so sweet, so gentle, so kind to Reki. He moved forward, cradling him to his chest, gently playing with his hair and Reki would melt into it. He had always loved his hair played with… it was an instant stress reliever.
“Take your time Reki,” Langa told him and the redhead sighed gently. After a few moments Reki pulled away, he seemed.. a bit almost agitated with himself. “But.. it’s.. man, it’s just, it’s such a stupid reason to get all worked up about,” Reki said. Langa was looking at him, still patient as ever to try and get him to relax. “If you are upset about it, it’s not stupid Reki” he told him and the redhead sighed gently, especially when Langa reached forward to card his fingers through his hair. He reluctantly leaned down on him again. It was now or never… he decided to rip the bandaid off.
“I… I guess I was.. eating more then normal when I.. had inured my leg for a few weeks… a month back… and I gained a bit of weight..” he said.. feeling a bit awkward and stiff, rubbing the back of his head, he shifted his position again. “And… it went all into my stupid stomach… I’ve been trying to loose it and I guess avoid anyone seeing it. Man, this is so lame..” he groaned, he was so embarrassed getting worked over something so small and minor. He covered his face with an uncomfortable sigh and Langa couldn’t help but frown. This.. broke his heart knowing Reki had been keeping this bottled up for weeks now. No wonder he had been feeling so self conscious lately. “And… and the people at school…” Reki trailed off.
Langa felt his blood boil. What had people been saying to his Reki? Before he could let that anger spill over.. he decided right now was not the moment and he was going to make sure his boyfriend was okay. “They don’t matter,” Langa said firmly which caught Reki off guard since he typically talked in a gentle tone. The bluenette switched their position, so Reki was on his back as Langa hovered over him.
“You know Reki… when I fell in love with you.. I firstly fell in love with you soul..” he said, gently point at his chest. “It’s so firey and warm.. like the sun. It’s passionate, kind, clever, and smart… it’s fun, something only you could ever remind me of in my darkest times,” he continued and Reki was already flushed. “But what came with that was sometime who matched it, someone as equally as beautiful as his soul.. that has the most beautiful hair..” he said as he gently ran his hands through it and Reki pleasantly hummed at the feeling.
“The most beautiful eyes,” he said gazing into them
“The sweetest cheeks,”
He kissed them.
“The prettiest lips,”
Langa’s lips met Reki’s
“The ears that rarely listen to what anyone says-“
He smooches hen and Reki giggled at that and the joke.
“Your… nice neck..”
Reki laughed at that, Langa couldn’t come up with a component for it, plus he was nibbling on it.
“Okay okay- I get it-“ Reki whined- he wasn’t sure how much more he could handle of this. But he was darker than his hair currently with he flustered he was. “I’m not finished yet though, I have one more thing,” he said, and Reki looked up at him. “And your body Reki.. it’s gorgeous, because it’s yours. I’d love you no matter what, you’d be beautiful, and handsome no matter what. I’d never care what size, gender, or anything you are as long as you are Reki… I’d love you in any form you’d take. And if others can’t see that then they are missing out..” he said as he leaned down and kissed him.
Reki’s eyes were watery… nobody would ever talk to him the way Langa would. Nobody would ever treat him the way his boyfriend did and he was convinced of that. He loved him, he loved him so incredibly much it hurt. And hearing him say those words…. Made him feel good and.. happy. He’d happily kiss him back. After a bit, Langa pulled back, staring at him lovingly as he gently dried Reki’s watery eyes with his sleeve.
“Thank you Langa… I love you…”
“I love you too… now… shall we continue?” He asked, gently tugging at the bottom of his hoodie. Reki was staring at him, his eyes a little wide as he tried to form a response with his mouth. “I-uh-“ he said before nodding. Langa smiled, he just wanted to see Reki laugh again, and he knew this would make him smile all over again. He wanted him to be happy.
He gently lifted up the shirt, and it took everything in him to not just stare at how adorable his tummy was. It wasn’t long till he began to knead his hands into it, the slight chunk on his stomach gently wiggling around with the fingers. Something Reki didn’t realize was this slight chunk was… incredibly ticklish. He was laughing so much louder than usual and his boyfriend was loving every second of it.
“OH MY GAHAHAHAD- Lahahahanga- WAHAHAIT-“ he yelled as Langa began to now tickle the area around his belly button. And wow.. did it tickle so bad… but he loved it. And knowing Langa was loving this, and seeing how he admired his stomach when he saw it sent butterflies to his tummy. Langa really did love him, didn’t he?
He didn’t get much time to think however, as Langa leaned down, blowing a giant raspberry into his stomach which caused him to shriek out into new waves of hysterical laughter. Langa had to say he was finding this absolutely adorable. “My sweet adorable Reki is so ticklish here..” he said and Reki just about died, he loved his hands up to pull down his headband over his eyes to cover himself since he was so flustered. Bad move.
Immediately, Langa’s hand darted to his underarms which was one of his worst spots, as he continued to blow raspberries into his stomach. Reki shrieks and wormed around as much as he possible could. His feet rapidly drummed on the bed as he laughed.
“AHAHAHAHAHAH- PLEHEHEHEASE- LAHAHAHANGA!!!!” He shouted. His laughter was filled with squeaks and loud deep snorts which Langa had to try really hard to not laugh at. Tears were brimming his eyes as he laughed loudly, and Langa would continue this for a bit longer until Reki was silently laughing and wheezing.
Langa then finally pulled back as Reki panted heavily, a giant goofy smile staying on his face. The bluenette laid down next to him, gently kissing his cheek and pulling his headband back up so he could see his eyes. “Feeling better?” He asked and Reki nodded his head. He seemed so much happier than he was earlier. Langa seemed pleased with himself. He was just happy to know he could make his boyfriend feel better.
He reached forward and played with his hair as Reki caught his breathe. The long term skatboarder would more than happily lean into the touch, snuggling into Langa as he did that and they were now tangled in each others arms.
“Hey Langa..?” Reki asked as Langa hummed in reply, looking down at him. “Thank you..” he said softly, looking up at him with a loving look in his eyes. “I really needed that…”
Langa smiled at him gently as he softly grabbed his face with his hands and kissed his head. “I’d do anything for you… you know that..” he told him softly. Reki felt his heart grow warm as he then smooched his lips softly. He didn’t think he could love anyone more then he loved Langa.. not ever. “I’d do anything for you too..” he told him softly. The bluenette would smile on response and wrap his arms more around him as they decided to rest together.
“Hey.. Langa..?” Reki asked again after another moment of silence.
Langa hummed again in reply.
“Y’know how you said you’d love me no matter what form I took?”
“Um, yeah?”
“Would you love me even as a worm?”

Cause and Effect
Loverboy Chapter 16
masterlist  prev
warnings: cursing, hospital setting, terrible pacing, and envy I guess. not proofread...
Tumblr media
"What the fuck happened?" You asked Kojiro the moment you saw him, shaking his arm out of panic. "Koji, what happened?"
He breathes in a shaky breath before holding your shoulders down, "Adam hit Kaoru with his board."
"He hit—" you can't help but let out a laugh, Kojiro knows your nerves are getting to you. "He hit him?" He nods. "Is he okay?" You ask him, folding your hands together when they begin trembling.
Kojiro clasps his hands over yours, leveling himself to look you in the eyes— you can't keep contact. "He's going to be fine, Y/n."
Right. Kaoru was going to be fine. He's in the hospital being treated, he's strong, he'll be okay. He'll be okay. The reassurance feels empty in your head, Kojiro's hand wraps around yours to keep you grounded as he leads you out of the hospital.
Your leg shakes as you sit on one of the bar stools in the restaurant, groaning when your phone buzzes in your pocket, looking down at it when you notice the name.
Kojiro glances over at your phone when you place it on the counter, raising a brow when he sees it. "Are you ignoring him?"
"If I talk to him, he might push me away."
"You'll never know until you try." He says, pushing your phone your way. "Just hear him out, and if I'm wrong then you can punch me."
"Square in the face." You respond, sliding off the barstool. "I'm gonna head out." He waves as you exit, sighing as he massages his neck.
The walk home is silent, you don't know why but you expect your phone to blare its ringtone, the specific one Reki chose. You understood that you shouldn't wait around for him, but he was the one who pushed you away first, even if he hadn't meant to.
You make it to your house with no interruptions.
But as always, life has an interesting way of giving you what you don't want.
"Hi."
Reki's sitting on the edge of your bed when you walk in, fingers picking at the broken edge of his phone case. He looks down when you narrow your eyes at him, looking behind you before you shut the door.
"What are you doing here?" He looks to the side. "I know you've been trying to reach me but showing up at my house and sitting in the dark is a little weird."
He deflated at your bluntness, rubbing his neck. "Sorry." He watches silently as you put your things away, avoiding your gaze when you look at him. "Um, did you go to crazy rock today?"
You shake your head. "Did you?" He nods. "How did it go?"
"There's a tournament," he says, picking at the lint on your blanket. "Langa went against Joe," you hum. "Langa won." Your surprised face doesn't go unnoticed by him. He turns away when you begin to change. "I wanted to be happy for him but I just couldn't."
"Well, it makes sense." He tilts his head. "Langa's the whole reason you're acting like this isn't he?"
He turns his head to the side, "I— don't give him too much credit." He laughs, rubbing his neck again. "Everyone else played a part in it too."
"But you only care about Langa's rapid improvement because he's a rookie and you trained him, right?"
"I really hate that about you," you raise a brow. "That you're always right, it's kind of annoying."
You snort at his words, covering your mouth with your hand. "I'm sorry?"
The mood lifts when Reki smiles at you.
"I don't think that jealousy isn't gonna go away, ever." He says, picking at his nails. "I think I'll always be envious of everyone's growth."
You sit beside him, "That's normal, I guess." He chuckles. "Everyone is envious of someone in their life."
"Even you?"
"Even me." You agree, nudging his shoulder. "Before we met, I really didn't like you." He deflated. "I didn't like how passionate you were about anything and everything."
"And you were envious of...?"
"Just you, your charisma, a lot of people liked you." He shrugs. "You don't have to humble yourself, half the class likes you."
"Half."
"Better than none." You argue.
"People like you." He says
You laugh, "People like that I know Langa."
"I like you."
"I know you do." His face turns red when he realizes what he's said, turning away to hide it from you. "And I'm happy that you do."
He turns back to face you slowly, staring at you with a wobbly grin. "I'm glad."
An awkward silence follows his words, avoiding each other's side glances and gazes, brushing each other off with a small laugh.
"I should get going," he says after a minute, glancing outside. "It might rain."
"Okay," you say, getting up after him. "I'll walk you out."
You step out of your room first, glaring at Abuela when she shoots you a thumbs up from her door. Reki bids her goodbye when he sees her.
"I'll see you tomorrow," he says, smiling at you when he steps down from your doorstep. "I think, at least."
"Okay." He waves as he steps further down, but pauses when he gets to the second to last step. "Reki?"
He lets out a quiet curse, rubbing the back of his neck before he ventures up the steps again. His hand finds purchase on your waist as he leans towards you, face radiating heat as he places a chaste kiss to your cheek.
"Bye." He quickly says, running down the steps and the street.
Your fingers slowly creep up to your cheek, hovering over the place he kissed. Heat rises from your neck to your cheeks when it sets in, heart hammering in your chest.
It was just a kiss on the cheek but it had this much effect on you?

A/n: ignore the title or else.
This entire chapter is just being stressed about Kaoru getting hurt then forgetting everything once Reki comes in. mind blank for sure 💭

vent // i miss langa too
Tumblr media
it’s so weird trying to genuinely get over someone, the second I feel better and feel like “hey I’m alright, I have better people and I’m truly worth more than what he made me feel like” you show right back up? it’s not just feelings for someone, you were my first best friend?
you made me feel genuinely alright, you made sure I felt okay but what happened to you? you turned into this sick bastard who does anything for a good laugh, you hated when I told you shit that made me worried or excited. you truly made me feel like the worst person possibly, you made me realize that I was infact a terrible person almost daily because I didn’t say I love you one night? you told me to die and you told me you hated me then you told me you never meant it? not once? but when I, me, when I feel hurt, when I vent on my vent acc about how terrible I feel because of you leaving me like this I become the terrible person I always was.
if you came to me right now, today, tomorrow, I would genuinely open my door, if you ever showed up to my house I would let you in. do you understand that, do you understand how much you meant to me? how much you mean to me? everytime you told me you hated me I genuinely lost a part of me. you have never ever cared for me and that is literally the worst thing to realize, to realize that the one person I wanted ever, for the first time in my life never cared about me, wouldn’t have ever held out a hand for me when I needed it.
when I told you almost drowned you told me, “diving seems so fun”, “don’t you feel better now?” and “oh ):” Jesus fuck I grew the worst fear of water because of it, I have never felt so unheard or uncared for. do you want me to show you the letters I wrote to you in my notes? the times I laid my head on the desk and thought of you, the time I had a breakdown in the middle of class because I genuinely couldn’t take it anymore? the one time I skipped my entire study hall and cried my eyes out because you told me you hated me?
when I cried so hard on your birthday i went to school with swollen eyes? the way I cared so much for you I pushed myself to show it, how on our anniversaries instead of a letter or note I got nothing? when I gave up making gifts and would just wish myself a happy anniversary, when I would only talk about you to everyone? did you really not realize I loved you? did you really not notice that I spent hours making things for you, hours after school talking to you, I took so many chances for it all? you were my soulmate but I never thought I was yours, youre always on my mind. I truly feel guilty for considering other people but you’ve already done more? you made me promise to spend this next year with you but you ruined everything yourself. now you’ll call me a liar when it was truly you who hurt me? you always told me about how much you missed jaek, how important they were to you and I felt for you, I felt bad and I truly wished you two had more time to be friends. you never acted like you missed me, you never cried in vms about me and you never once told me you loved me with your whole heart.
you hurt me so much, you would fight with me and then your little, god I loved him? he was my world, if I was hurt by you I couldn’t bare see him, so I would put him to bed, tell him a story about elf’s, frogs or little bunnies and he listened? he was my world little astro, I watched him grow in a way? he was hurting because of me too, I don’t even get it? I told him you never hated him but he never believed it, not once. I tried so hard nic so hard, I have never had it harder than this and I hate it

·˚ ༘⌗ chinen miya x gn!reader
·˚ ༘⌗ childhood promises aren't unusual. miya and you had made many to each other, but the most notable one would be the classic promise to marry one another. miya was getting impatient with time, and decided he didn't need to be a grown up to marry you. after all, paper rings will do, right?
·˚ ༘⌗ warnings: fluff, both of you are still in middle school lol 😃, miya being cute and kind of ooc??
gen masterlist.            sk8 masterlist.
Tumblr media
miya grumbled as he sneaked quick glances at you from across him. you were both at school eating lunch underneath a tree for shade, like you always do, and for some reason, he was acting strange and awfully fidgety ever since the morning you went up to greet him.
"alright, what is it, miya?" you asked with a sigh "h-huh?" miya jumped as he nervously sipped on his drink, avoiding eye contact as his fingers fiddled with his switch.
"you're acting so weird" you said as you throw a candy wrapper at him "you've been looking at me strangely all day" you said as you narrowed your eyes at him
miya gulped and shook his head "no way!" he denied "you're getting too confident, you slime!" he said as he stuck his tongue out playfully
you rolled your eyes and laughed at his antics, throwing another piece of wrapper at him as you tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. "whatever" you said
"and don't call me a slime, im your best friend!" you whined with a laugh. miya blushed and jutted his bottom lip out in a sort of pout. "you're still a slime if you keep acting like that.." he muttered
you raise a brow in confusion "acting like what?" you asked. "a-acting so... so.." he stammered out, looking so flustered as he tries to maintain eye contact with you, even though he could practically feel his heart palpitating.
"so what?" you asked again, this time even more confused as his face visibly becomes a brighter shade of red all the way to the tip of his ears.
"so cute!!" miya finally admitted, accidentally raising his voice a little too high, causing a few students to turn their heads.
"aghhh" he groaned out as he ducked his head to avoid their gazes out of embarrassment.
"oh.. is that so?" you cooed out with a laugh as you cover your cheeks which were heating up from the compliment.
"well, you're pretty cute yourself" you teased "even for a slime"
miya looked up and glared at you, despite his quivering lips and shaky voice he still managed to let out a small "im not a slime.."
you smile and pack away your bento, standing up on your feet and pulling him along. "im gonna keep calling you a slime if you won't stop acting weird around me" you said
"anyways, let's go. lunch is about to end" you say as you take his hand in yours and proceed to walk away. miya gulped as he stared longingly at your intertwined hands.
more specifically, your ring finger which seems to be quite bare.
"hey, y/n.." he muttered. "yeah?" you reply
"remember our promise?" he asked ".. yknow, when we were kids?"
you hummed for a moment before replying, "i think so.." you said "i mean.. i remember promising not to tell anyone when you fell into a canal when we were like five-"
"not that!!" miya shrieked with a bit of a pink tint to his cheeks "forget about that whole thing, that's embarrassing!" he whined
"then what?" you asked with a laugh "i can't name every promise we've ever made all in one go, you know?"
miya huffed and abruptly stopped in his tracks, causing you to halt along with him.
"i meant.. when we promised to marry each other." he said in a soft whisper
"miya.." you mumble as you stare at him in surprise. miya simply looked away, avoiding eye contact as his lips quiver into a small frown.
"um. yeah, i remember" you replied with a nervous smile as miya takes your hand in his and locks your fingers together.
"y/n, i think.." miya stammered out "i think i want to get married already."
you blinked in shock and confusion before letting out a sheepish laugh "haha, miya you can't be serious" you said
"we're too young, plus, you're saying that as if you like me or something" you said in a joking manner as you playfully hit his shoulder "but you don't actually like me, right?" you asked with a nervous gulp
miya shook his head and placed your hands over his chest, holding them tenderly as he stares up at you with his eyes glimmering with admiration.
"i like you a lot, y/n" he admitted "i've liked you since we were kids and-" he cut himself off
"actually, i think i love you. so um.. i wanna get married so nobody else can love you but me." miya said with a look of determination on his face as he nervously waits for your response.
"well uh.." you stammer out as you nervously look around "i.. i love you too, miya.." you finally admitted as you send him a bashful glance
miya's eyes widened as his smile turned into a wide grin. "really?" he asked with excitement
"yeah i guess" you muttered bashfully as you try to avoid his entrancing emerald hued eyes.
"that's great! let's get married." miya said as he took your hand and pulled you along as he ran towards the infamous cherry blossom tree in your school.
"miya, slow down!" you whined as he practically dragged you along while you struggled to keep up with him since he was basically sprinting.
"hurry up, you slime!" miya exclaimed with a laugh as he slows down to match your pace
"geez. you know we can get married at like 20 or 25 instead, right?" you said as you let out a breath of air
you were both underneath the cherry blossom tree. the beautiful pink blossoms fall and sway around due to the wind as the both of you lay on the grassy ground.
"we don't even have rings" you laughed as you turned to look at him. "don't worry i already have those" miya said with a cat-like grin
you watched in amusement as he dug into his pocket and pulled out two rings made of paper with small cat and video game stickers and both of your names written on the inside.
"oh gosh you actually have them" you sweat drop "ofcourse! i made these this morning and put a lot of effort so you better accept it" miya playfully scowled
you both sat up as he held out his palm, urging you to place your hand on top of it.
"my vows would be.. uh i'll love you forever and let you play my games. and i won't ever leave you and call you a slime ever again" miya muttered as he slid the ring into your finger, blushing madly as he does so.
"wow, nice vows. very heartfelt." you say sarcastically with a laugh, causing him to grumble and gently hit you with his fist.
"just say your vows, you slime!"
"you just said you wouldn't call me a slime anymore!"
"that only applies after! we're still not together since you still haven't told me your vows, slime!"
you sigh as a fond smile grazed your lips. you stare at miya through your lashes, chuckling to yourself as you see him waiting expectantly with a concerning amount of blush on his cheeks.
"my vows would be.." you muttered "that i would never leave you and i'll be with you and support you in whatever you wanna do." you said
"and-"
"that's enough" miya cut you off by waving his hand at your face, while covering his with the other. "u-um.. im fine with just that, you don't have to say anything else.." he said
you blink in confusion but agree anyways. "okay then" you smiled
miya gulped as he shakily lends you his hand, watching in astonishment as you slid the ring onto his finger.
"there, we're now officially together forever" you said with a laugh as you intertwined your hands together
"yeah." miya mumbled as his lips slowly curled into a loving smile
you gave him a smug grin as you point to your lips "this is the part where you kiss me-"
miya didn't let you finish as he suddenly tackled you into a hug and pressed a soft kiss onto your lips before moving along and pressing his lips onto both of your cheeks and nose.
"thanks for marrying me" miya muttered against your neck as he buries his face against your skin
"anytime" you chuckled. you wrapped your arms around him, causing him to sigh in satisfaction and relax against your body.
"mhhm, love you y/n" he mumbled
"i love you too miya"
Tumblr media
"man, you'll never understand since you're too young" reki said with a smug grin as he patted miya's head to emphasise his point
"love is just too complex for kiddos like you" reki teased
miya simply grumbled and glared up at the redhead, causing reki to laugh even more. "oh yeah?" miya taunted
"well, it's not like you have a lover of your own" he scoffed "you can't flirt for the life of you, and girls wouldn't even waste their time of day to look at you"
reki let out a pained smile as he sulked over miya's harsh words. "ahahaha, those are some big words for a little kid like you" reki squeaked out with a chuckle
"tch.." miya gritted his teeth as he glared up at reki "you have no room to talk when your ethe one who doesn't have a s/o, you slime!" he exclaimed
"eh??" reki mused "why? do you have a s/o?" he taunted "i think not-"
"yes i do." miya cut him off with a smug smirk
"ha?! how?! you're like three?!?" reki exclaimed in surprise, which seemed to catch the others' attention
"ha?! im thirteen idiot!!" miya yelled back with a scowl
"what happened?" kaoru asks with a raised brow as he looks between the two boys. reki seemed to be in shock and suspicion, while miya was sticking his tongue out at the redhead.
"cherry, miya said he has a s/o!!" reki exclaimed "how is that even possible?! he's a child!"
"im a teenager!" miya exclaimed
"really?" kaoru hummed in amusement as his eyes slowly trail over to you, who was too busy munching on burgers with langa to even notice their arguing.
"who is it??" reki asked "its y/n." miya replied with a proud smirk
"Y/N?! IMPOSSIBLE!" reki exclaimed with widened eyes. he ran over to you and hugged you protectively to his chest. "y/n, answer me honestly!" he said
"are you and miya together?!"
you blink in confusion and look at langa for an answer, though he simply shrugged and carried on eating. "um, well yeah." you said
"no way?!!!" reki exclaimed "oi you slime, why does it seem so unbelievable to you anyway, huh?" miya asked him with a raised brow as he pulled you closer to him
"it's just a shock to me!" reki said "i never would've guessed that.." he let out a sigh
kojiro sweat dropped and patted miya and yours' heads. "well, it was pretty obvious they'd end up together" he said
"yeah, we even got married." miya said in a nonchalant tone as he intertwined your hands.
"EH?!" now this time, everyone had let out a scream of their own. they looked between the two of you and blinked in shock.
"impossible. since when?" kaoru asked
"a week ago" you replied with a smile as you raise both of your hands to show them the rings on your fingers.
"but thats just paper-" kaoru slapped langa's mouth with his fan and smiled proudly at the two of you.
"that's wonderful. are those your rings?" he asked with a hum
"yeah. miya made them" you replied "it was really fun. the 'wedding' was a bit unexpected but its fine." you said
"the children are growing up!" kojiro exclaimed as he covered his mouth, while he wipes the stray tears of joy away.
"kaoru! the children are grown!!"
"shut up, you gorrila! you act like they're our kids." kaoru rolled his eyes. he then turned to you and smiled softly once again.
"congratulations" he said
"heh. hows that, you slime?" miya sneered at reki as he flaunts the paper rings with a smug cat-like grin.
"those are just paper anyways! so you're not really married- ow!" reki yelped as he felt kaoru's fan hit his head
"tch. whatever! im gonna get real rings soon!" miya exclaimed.
"no need to rush things, you know?" you mused as you patted miya's head
"yeah.." miya muttered "paper rings will do for now.. right?" he asked.
"right."

Flopping over onto your back on the bed, you stretched your arms and legs out and let out a loud yawn. You, Reki, and Langa had been working on homework ever since the three of you had arrived at Langa's house after school and you were starting to get mentally exhausted.
"I'm done!" you exclaimed, shutting your eyes and exhaling.
Peeking at you from where he was lying on the floor, Reki cocked a brow at you. "You finished all of it?"
"No." You shook your head. "I'm just done. My brain hurts. If I do any more I think I might die."
"Good enough for me!" Reki closed his textbook as well and stopped doing his homework too.
Sighing from his spot at his desk, Langa turned in his desk chair to face the two of you. "We have to have this done for tomorrow. You do know that, right?"
"Yes, obviously." You rolled your eyes. "I'm going to do the rest later. I just need a break."
"Exactly. Break time!" Reki stood up from the floor and promptly fell down on top of you on Langa's bed, crushing you and pushing the air out of your lungs in the process. "I'll finish later too."
Langa scoffed. "Y/N I believe . . . but Reki, we all know you'll forget about it tonight and end up scrambling to finish as the teacher goes around collecting it tomorrow morning."
"He does have a point," you wheezed out, trying your hardest to push Reki off of your stomach.
Reki frowned and stuck his bottom lip out dramatically. "You guys are so mean to me." He adjusted himself on top of you so his face was hovering right above yours. "I expected this from Langa, but you, Y/N? I thought you loved me."
You forced out a laugh as you cupped his face with your hands. "I do love you, but that doesn't mean you don't have faults, Reki. I love you despite your faults, and one of your faults is procrastination."
He furrowed his brows, his face scrunching up in thought. "I can't tell if that was a compliment or not."
"The gist was that you're loved," Langa muttered as he continued working away at the homework one question at a time, trying his best to ignore the two of you.
Reki's eyes lit up at that. "Well, good!" He smiled as he cupped your face with his hands in return and pressed a soft kiss to your lips.
Immediately, your cheeks turned red and you averted his gaze. Things between the three of you were still relatively new and you were still working out how a relationship with three people worked, exactly. The fact that neither one of you had ever really had a serious relationship before only made things more complicated.
Noticing your reaction, Reki brushed the pads of his thumbs over your cheeks. "Sorry," he apologized. "I should have asked before I kissed you."
"No, it's okay," you assured him, a soft smile on your face as you did so. "I'm just not used to it yet, especially since our relationship isn't exactly . . . normal."
"I know." Reki hugged you tight and buried his face in your neck, pressing a soft kiss to the skin there. "Did you tell your parents yet?"
You shook your head as your heart began to pound nervously. "No. Did you?"
"Not yet," he mumbled into your neck. "Every time I try to, one of my siblings is around and I abort mission."
Craning your neck, you looked over at Langa. "Did you tell your mom yet, Langa?"
Only half-listening to the conversation, Langa perked at his name but tilted his head quizzically at the inquiry. "Did I tell my mom what?"
"About us," Reki clarified. "The three of us being together."
"Oh." He seemed to grow nervous about the topic as well. "Not yet. Soon."
Finally rolling off of you, Reki laid on his back and pulled you into his side, his arm wrapped around you and your head resting on his chest. "If only we were adults and didn't have to worry about the approval of our parents."
"Yeah," Langa agreed, thoroughly distracted from his homework now, his mind running a mile a minute while he thought about the current predicament. The three of you had to be careful when you went over to each others' houses, trying your best to convince everyone that you were just close friends and nothing more.
Cuddling and kissing were usually reserved for late nights when the sun went down, the lights were turned off, and the three of you hid behind the excuse of watching a movie together. Funnily enough, watching a movie together and cuddling had been how the three of you had discovered your feelings for one another.
"Speaking of that, you two should be careful." Langa gestured to the way you and Reki were holding each other on his bed. "What if my mom walks in?"
"Yeah, you're right," Reki sighed. "I just feel like we never get to be together how we want . . . we're worried about what our parents will think at home and worried about what everyone else will think at school. Nevermind the fact that Langa and I are gay, or, bisexual I guess . . . but polyamory? We'd never hear the end of it."
You exhaled slowly, cuddling closer to Reki. "They'd probably call me a slut for having two boyfriends."
Standing from his chair, Langa walked over to the bed and laid down with you and Reki, forgetting about all of his usual paranoid worries for the time being. "You're not a slut," he told you, wrapping his arms around you as well. "And who cares what anyone else thinks anyway, right? As long as we're happy and we're not hurting anyone else, that's all that matters."
Relishing in the feeling of having your two favourite people on either side of you, you started feeling the stress fade away and your body relax from its usual tense state. "I wish we could stay like this forever."
Before either Reki or Langa had the chance to respond, the bedroom door suddenly swung open and Langa's mom poked her head into the room. "Langa, are you friends staying for dinner or-" She stopped talking as soon as she saw the three of you tangled up in one another on the bed.
Immediately, the three of you jumped away from each other, the stress that had just left filling your body once more. Completely caught off guard since Langa's mom usually knocked first before opening the door, neither one of you knew how to explain away what she had just seen.
"M-mom!" Langa was standing on the opposite side of the room now while you and Reki stood on either side of the bed. "Why didn't you knock?"
Langa's mom eyed the three of you, quickly noticing the flushed faces and obvious nerves radiating off of you. Even if she hadn't thought anything of what she had seen at first, she definitely suspected something now with how the three of you were acting.
"I apologize," she said, pushing the door open all the way and standing in the doorway. "Langa, dear, do you have something you want to tell me?"
Fiddling nervously with his fingers, Langa turned to look at you and Reki, trying to gauge your reactions and decide whether he should tell the truth or try to pull off some sort of lie; but both you and Reki were completely useless as you stared down at the floor and shifted anxiously.
"Langa?" His mom prompted once more.
Finally meeting his mother's gaze, Langa drew in a deep breath. "Can you promise not to be mad?"
Langa's mother quirked a brow quizzically. "You're starting to worry me, honey. Just tell me what's got you so flustered."
"Well . . . u-um," Langa stumbled over his words, completely unsure how he was supposed to just come out and say it. "Well, Mom . . . Reki, Y/N, and I aren't . . . aren't just friends."
Langa's mother folded her arms over her chest and took a minute to process what she had just heard. "I'm sorry, I don't think I understand what you're trying to tell me."
Deciding to rescue Langa from having to ride solo on this, you stepped over to him and took his hand in yours. "Mrs. Hasegawa, Langa and I are dating," you told her.
"Oh, I see." Langa's mom's face flashed with understanding, but then she looked over at Reki, no doubt wondering how he fit into all of this.
"And I'm dating Y/N." Reki stood on the other side of you.
Langa nodded. "And I'm also dating Reki."
The understanding that had once been visible on Langa's mom's face had completely vanished after the three of you had elaborated. "S-so . . ." She paused as she tried to fit all the pieces together in her head. "So the three of you are all dating each other? Is that right?"
"Y-yes," Langa confirmed. "We know people will think it's weird but it's just what makes us happy and I just . . . just please don't be mad."
"Mad?" Langa's mother seemed offended at the insinuation that she could ever be mad at her son for, for lack of a better term, coming out to her more or less. "Oh, dear, I could never be mad at you for who you love."
Before either of you had the chance to process how well that conversation had just gone, Langa's mother was striding over to the three of you and pulling you all into a hug. "All that matters is that you're happy and healthy," she told Langa before looking to you and Reki. "And the same goes for the two of you. I don't know what your parents have said about this, but just remember that being happy and healthy is all that matters."
"Y-you're really okay with this?" Happy tears began to well in Langa's eyes. It was clear that he was overjoyed and shocked that his mother had been so accepting so easily.
Placing her hands on her son's face, Langa's mother smiled at him. "Of course, I am. Is it a little confusing for me? Sure. Do I know much about being in a polyamorous relationship? No. But if the three of you have discovered that this is what makes you happy, as I'm sure you have since you're all old enough to make your own decisions and know what's best for you, then I'm happy as well."
"Thank you!" Langa hugged his mom tightly, silent sobs escaping him as all the worry he had been carrying around for weeks dissipated and he was flooded with relief.
"I'll always love you, no matter what," Langa's mom told him as she glanced at you and Reki, who were starting to tear up as well. "Do your parents know as well?"
You and Reki shook your heads. "No, not yet," you said in unison.
"Well, I hope they are understanding," she told you. "And just know that the three of you are always welcome here."
"Thank you, Mrs. Hasegawa." Reki wrapped his arms around you and held you tight as you cried as well. "Really, thank you so much. We were all scared that everyone would think we were weird or gross."
"People are often scared of things that they think are different," Langa's mom explained to the three of you. "But that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with being different. I won't lie and say that everyone will be understanding, but the world is changing . . . don't assume the worst from people just yet; they might surprise you."
With that, Langa let go of his mother and engulfed you and Reki in a hug. Finally, the three of you had safe space where you could be together and not worry about judgmental people looking in on your relationship.
Overjoyed and unable to control his excitement, Reki planted kisses on both you and Langa—marking the first time either of you had dared show affection in front of someone outside of the relationship.
Hopefully, the first of many.

Big brother
Reki doesn't admit it out loud, but he loves to take care of his sisters. Koyomi is usually locked up in her room and claims she doesn't need him to babysit her so he usually ends up watching over the twins alone when their mother is away.
This time though he's asked her permission to take the little girls to the park to teach them how to skateboard.
Langa is with them; it's not a surprise, he's always with Reki. Sometimes he wonders why he spends so much time with him instead of a cute omega girl. He's a very popular alpha and has been invited to several parties, but doesn't seem interested in them for some reason.
Even though Reki is the only omega in his house (well, at the moment, they don't know about the twins yet, they're too young for that) he likes it.
When they get to the park Reki leaves Nanaka and Chihiro on the ground carefully. He sits next to them and starts putting them the helmets, knees and elbow pads. He's so focused on the task and their excitement he doesn't notice Langa has been staring at him the whole time.
Well... At least until he speaks.
"You look good with kids," he blurts out, prompting Reki to quirk up a brow at him. Langa's scent becomes more intense suddenly, almost protective, and he blushes when their eyes meet. "Would you like to have your own... someday?"
"Of course!" Reki beams at him before turning around at the twins that are constantly demanding his attention. "At least two."
"I-I'd like that too, you know?" Langa mumbles before handing him one of the boards he's been carrying.
"I'm sure you'll soon find a nice omega for you," Reki says absentmindedly, after explaining to the girls how to stand on the board. He helps one at a time, holding them firmly when they get on the board.
Chihiro chuckles and her sister pouts, already making grabby hands at him. Reki smiles at her fondly.
"Be patient, Nanaka. It'll be your turn soon enough."
"I think I-I have already found someone."
Even though he's still watching his sisters, Reki hears Langa clear enough and feels suddenly, inevitably sad, however, he wants to show his friend he supports him so he turns around and grins at him.
"That's great! What's her name?"
"Her?"
"Slime!" Miya stops right in front of Reki, prompting the twins to squeal in excitement, looking up at the cat ears over the teen's hoodie.
"Hi!" They both say at the same time to which Miya just frowns in response.
Reki suddenly remembers that the young alpha is an only child so he's not that surprised by his reaction.
"Who are they? Langa and you have pups already?"
The older alpha groans like he's in pain, covering his face with one hand. Is it really the thought of having pups with Reki so disgusting to Langa?
"They're my sisters! Chihiro and Nanaka!"
At that, the young alpha looks at him like he's been betrayed.
"You didn't say you had siblings!" Miya hisses, looking almost hurt.
"I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it a couple of times," Reki says, confused.
"You didn't," Miya insists, still upset.
"What is it, Miya?" Reki reaches out and strokes that black hair of his, for a moment the alpha leans into the touch, but he quickly moves away.
"Nothing. Anyway, I hope you pay attention because I'm about to do a few tricks. You need to learn a lot."
"Alright, but be careful because my sisters are here."
The girls seem to be really impressed with Miya, they think he's flying in the air and would like to do something like that too; Reki has to remind them they're not ready for that yet.
Langa is watching over the three of them; he's constantly asking Reki if he needs help and preventing the little girls from falling right on time.
Nanako manages to stay still enough for Reki to move her along with the board. When she giggles, delighted, Reki takes her in his arms and gives her a kiss on her little forehead. When Chihiro starts pouting, he leans to give her a kiss as well.
Finally, he notices they're not alone anymore, a group of people are looking in their direction. Langa looks particularly tense.
"Your fans are here, Miya," he says, grinning. "Well, maybe they're Snow fans too."
"They're looking at you," Miya replies, irritated. "You're acting like a perfect omega mommy again."
"What?" Reki blurts out, at the same time his brain goes: 'again?' What is he talking about?
"Are those your sisters?" A pretty girl asks, staring at him with a huge smile. She smells like a beta.
"Yes!" Reki nods. He introduces them quickly, making the girl's eyes glimmer.
"You're such a good big brother," she comments, leaning closer to him. "Can I have your num–"
A growl cuts her off suddenly; it takes Reki a while to realize that it has come from Langa.
"Are you alright?" He asks the alpha who looks a little bit embarrassed out of the sudden.
As he nods, still eyeing the girl, she decides to run away from them.
Reki would like to point out that's not a good way to get a girlfriend, but chooses to keep teaching his sisters the basics.
"Such a pretty omega," an alpha boy comments. Honestly, Reki just assumes he's talking to someone else and doesn't look up until the boy is just a few feet away from him. "You do seem to know how to take care of pups."
"Uh... Thank you?" He's not sure where the conversation is going or why he and the other people around appear to be interested in him.
Before the boy can say something else though, Langa has already walked in between them and is glaring at the other alpha like he wants him to disappear.
They stare right at each other until the other alpha nods and walks away. It's really weird.
"Reki, let's get out of here before Langa kills someone," Miya says, trying not to look worried, however, it's easy to smell the concern in his scent.
Noticing the tension on Langa's shoulders, Reki nods, rises quickly and takes both girls in his arms.
"Let's go, Langa."
The alpha doesn't hesitate, he takes the boards and follows Reki with a smile on his face.
"You're acting like a puppy," Miya tells the other alpha, rolling his eyes, but he follows them as well anyway.
"I'll see you at school, cutie!" A girl tells him, waving a hand at Reki. "I'll help you babysit your adorable sisters whenever you want!"
"Thanks!" He says, although Miya grabs him by the sweatshirt and pulls hard so he keeps moving.
Langa looks like he's going to get sick.
When they get home, Reki gives the girls a bath, puts them clean clothes, makes sure to feed them and finally takes them to their room when they fall asleep.
He doesn't realize that Miya and Langa are having a discussion in the living room.
"What was that all about, Langa? Are you alright?" He asks, sitting on the couch when he comes back. The two alphas sit right next to him at each side.
"I'm... fine."
"He was being a stupid jealous alpha," Miya informs him, prompting Langa to blush to the tip of his ears. "He doesn't like when other people hit on you."
"They weren't hitting on me," Reki protests, feeling his cheeks burning, his blush is probably matching Langa's now. "But I don't understand... what about the omega girl?"
"Reki, there is no omega girl or anybody else for that matter," Langa mumbles, taking both of the redhead's hand in his. "I just want you."
"Oh," he whispers feeling like he's been purposely blind all this time. "I... like you too."
"Would you let me scent you, please?"
Reki has started to realize that Langa is a very possessive alpha, but he kinda likes it. He nods, ignoring Miya's protests or the way he covers his eyes and enjoys when Langa nuzzles his neck.
He kisses him on the lips afterwards, but Reki can't lose himself in the sensation because Miya is already making puking sounds.
"Later," he promises Langa who's eyes darken at the thought.
"You two are disgusting," Miya grimaces.
"Miya is jealous of your sisters," Langa says in revenge.
"What? That's not true!" The young alpha hisses, turning completely red.
Reki is about to ask why, but then all those memories of Miya demanding his attention come back to him at once.
"It's alright," he says, running his fingers through the boy's black hair. "The fact that I have sisters doesn't mean I don't consider you my brother as well."
Miya tries to deny it, but something in him breaks and he jumps into the omega's arms.
"Really?"
"Yes, I consider you part of my family."
Langa embraces both of them, purring happily as he keeps nuzzling Reki on the back of his neck.
"You already scented me," he points out, amused.
"They all need to know you're mine."
Miya protests, but keeps his arms around the omega's waist.

A little drabble for Reki's birthday: A Night to Remember
Words: 1674
Summary: Reki had been alone on his birthday for as long as he could remember, his old friend being the only one who cared to remember other than his own family. This year, however, was different but not in a way Reki had expected.
Birthday celebrations had never been on the forefront of Reki's mind, with him not being one to care about his own birthday, so having to be reminded by his mother that ‘today’s the day’ upon waking up wasn't unusual for him. He knew she meant well by surprising him with a slice of cake and a kiss on the forehead, but he just couldn't find it within himself to be excited. He was happy to celebrate anyone else's birthday but his own, why? Because it reminded Reki of the bitterness of being alone. He'd always spent his birthdays with his best friend, always skating all over Okinawa and enjoying their time together, basking in their friendship and ignoring all else. They would both celebrate at the Kyan household and then go over to his house to celebrate before travelling to the skatepark and having their own little party. Just the two of them. Now Reki was alone. His mind, however, reminded him of his friends, of Langa, of Miya and of the adults they all hung out with, but he reminded himself that he hadn't told any of them that his birthday was coming up and frankly he didn't care to. Reki would rather find himself losing a beef than facing his own birthday.
Brushing off his mother with a smile and sending her out the room with a thank you, Reki set aside his slice of cake and set to getting up. His expression was anything but happy as his eyes held an emptiness within them and his smile upon waking up was all but vanished and had been replaced with a frown. He tugged his clothes on sluggishly and trudged out his door, closing it a bit forcefully and rattling the shelves and boards mounted onto his wall, he was sure something had fallen off but didn’t remember to check. He didn't care to note Koyomi's judging stare as he walked past her bedroom looking akin to an office worker who just ended a nine-hour shift. She didn't dare bother to ask about his weird demeanour, as yesterday he was acting weird too, so she just figured it was just not her problem and left him to it. It wasn't long before Reki was off on his way to school, riding along on his skateboard with his bag heavy on his back.
Reki skated past his and Langa's meeting spot, too absorbed in his own thoughts to pay notice to the fact that he wasn't there. Reki didn't want to assume the worst as his life had been better recently, but Langa wasn't even around at all the day before; wasn't at school and definitely wasn't anywhere else. Reki had made sure to visit Langa's house to see if he was there only to be waved off by Nanako, Langa's mother, as she said he's off on his own business. He'd hid his disappointment and looked elsewhere, being told by both Cherry and Joe that he hadn't been around them either. It was like he'd vanished off the face of the Earth! Either that, or just didn't want Reki around him, but Reki shook that thought off as soon as it'd come into his head. Langa disappearing the day before his birthday only made him more bitter about the fact that he was alone today, his hopes dashed and crushed. The universe always seemed to be against him in some way and always made an effort to show that, and this time it was the fact that after all this time he finally had a friend to celebrate with who just happened to have disappeared right before it. Typical. With a sigh, Reki continued to school, finding that Langa (again) wasn’t attending. Reki was bitterly reminded why he didn’t like celebrating his birthday.
School started and finished with nothing interesting happening, no one even looked Reki’s way or even knew that it was his birthday which Reki was internally thankful for – he just wanted the day to be over so he can go back to enjoying himself. Without even realising, it wasn’t just school that had passed, but the day as well. He paid no mind to his family who tried to celebrate with him and numbly opened any presents he received. He couldn’t even enjoy the irony of receiving new skater gloves that were mistakenly made blue instead of his trademark red. Langa would have smiled at that, Reki mused, a small smile making its way onto his face. Langa. The thought of him dimmed Reki’s sudden happiness and brought him right back down to his saddened self as a question weighed heavy on Reki’s mind ‘Where was he?’
Reki soon found himself in his room and away from his family, away from their happiness and away from everything that should’ve made him happy, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that this is the birthday that could have been different. Anger boiled deep within Reki as he picked up a stray skateboard wheel (was that what had fallen from his shelf that morning?) and threw it in the direction of his desk. Reki grit his teeth and forced himself to calm down, he didn’t want to have an outburst until after the day was over, he owed himself that much. It turns out he didn’t even need to make the effort to calm himself as he found his window open with a small white envelope laid neatly atop his windowsill that did it for him. Driven on impulse, Reki rushed over to his window and practically ripped open the envelope to get to the letter inside, his eyes wide and intrigued.
The letter read: ‘Reki, meet us please at S as soon as you see this, there’s a surprise there waiting for you.’
Instantly, Reki knew it was from Langa simply because of the horrendous handwriting. Stifling a laugh, Reki grabbed a spare board from his floor, opened his window up wide, skated down the ramp he’d made himself long ago and skated off into the night. Reki knew exactly where to go and which route to take after spending night after night travelling to the same secluded spot, but this time felt different. Not the type of different where it was obvious, but just different in the fact that the ‘S’ had been shut down after the tournament was held, it wasn’t to come back, so why was he invited there? Why did Langa want to meet him there after they’d already had their own beef? Reki didn’t want to dwell on it, not tonight, he’d only hoped that Langa would explain why he disappeared and why after the time they spent apart did he want to meet at night at ‘S’.
When he got there, he did not expect to be hit with five different confetti cannons at once followed by a chorus of ‘SURPRISE!’, nor did he expect himself to fall off his board straight after. So, he lay there on the ground shellshocked and blinded by the spotlights that somehow turned on? How had he not noticed the sudden light? Sitting himself up, he turned his head to see his group of friends all standing around a table decorated with foods, decorations, flowers and, of course, confetti. He shook some confetti out of his hair and stood up, a big smile on his face. Of course, his friends would pull a stunt like this and hide it from him, how could he think any different from them? Just looking at the table they’re around he can tell that the food on it had been made by Joe, the flowers brought by Shadow and the decorations by Miya. The lighting, he knew, had to be done by Cherry, who else is that good with technology that can pull off such a stunt? But that’s those five accounted for, so where was Langa? Just as he was asking himself this, a presence quickly approached him from behind and engulfed him in a hug, pulling him against their chest and resting their head on his shoulder. Reki didn’t need to look or guess to know that the person was Langa, he just knew.
“Happy birthday, Reki, I hope you’ll enjoy the private party we all set up for you.” Langa had said, his voice sending shivers down Reki’s back.
“Is this why I haven’t seen you until now?”
“Yes, I’m sorry, I wish I could have been with you but there were complications.” Langa’s tone was laced with sadness, and Reki wanted to be upset at the fact he couldn’t hang out with him until now, but he was too relieved and happy at his presence.
“Don’t be, I’m really glad that I get to see you today, I was worried about you.” And it was true, deep down Reki didn’t want to replay what had happened to their relationship when ‘S’ was still a thing. Their broken promise, their distance from one another, the pain wasn’t something Reki wanted to experience again, so he worried for what he might have done or what might have happened to either Langa or their relationship.
“Are you two going to get over here? The food’s getting cold, and I’m getting bored.” It was Miya who spoke up and Reki found himself laughing and genuinely smiling.
“We’re coming!” They both said in unison, detaching from each other and going to the table and starting their party.
When Reki returned home that night he found the slice of cake he’d put aside on his desk that his mother had given him when he woke up. He picked it up and sat himself down on his bed to enjoy it. Maybe birthdays can still be fun after all, he’d thought to himself as a lasting piece of confetti fell from a lock of his hair. This was a new era of his life, and he was going to enjoy it with them. Though, he probably should have asked them about how they knew it was his birthday.

Sk8 Character’s Love Languages <3
Note: Ad*m will not get a section
Note 2: love and love languages are not limited to romance, so I am going to talk about it in reference to other people in their little family, not just their romantic interest.
Reki:
Very very into physical affection
Hugs and cuddles and hand holding and literally anything you can think of
He likes to give Langa little kisses all over his face
Reki snuggles > anything else in the world
He also likes to steal Langa’s hoodies
Langa:
Reki stealing his hoodies works out because his main love language is sharing clothes
Seeing Reki in his clothes makes him happier than anything ever could
He steals things from everyone
He has a jacket from Shadow that he wears when it’s cold. Shadow was annoyed at first but now he doesn’t mind
He also lends out clothing to people he cares about (whether it’s his or not)
Like once at S, Miya got cold but he wouldn’t admit it even though he was visibly shivering and so Langa just took off the hoodie he was wearing (which used to be Joe’s) and forced it onto the tiny stubborn catboy
He also uses words to display a lot of affection. Like we all know how he just kept whipping out compliments to Reki when they first made up, yeah this man could go on for hours about how great and how much he loves his friends
Miya:
Miya is very indirect when it comes to showing he cares
He never, ever says it out loud and directly
He’s also very much like a cat and brings people he likes small trinkets or pieces of junk that reminded him of them (don’t worry, he’s never brought a dead bird or mouse...at least not yet)
Most of the time people don’t really understand why he brought them, for example, a weird shaped rock, or an old beat up toy from a gacha machine
But their little squad seems to understand and never gets rid of any of it even though it’s usually just garbage
They all have shelves or jars filled with random trinkets. Reki has his on full display, and his mom once tried to convince him to throw some of it out, but he refused
Miya also has a fantasy game/minecraft-ish ranking system, of course the lowest being slime, although the term becomes endearing when he’s talking to the squad. Reki is the only one that earned the rank of Golem, and he treasures it
Miya also really really loves headpats
He’s also really sentimental and when people give him gifts he always keeps them and finds a use for them
If he got candy or chocolates on white day, he would never eat them, he would keep them forever (it’s kinda gross, but chocolate never seems to get bad bad I’ve noticed. Just don’t eat it)
He also is very defensive for the people he loves and wants to protect them
Shadow:
Shadow is a classic and makes bouquets for those he loves
He is really really into flower language so he always makes their bouquets based on the meaning of each flower
He just...he’s a classic
He’s very sweet and protective and would fight anyone who messed with the people he cares about and would do anything to protect them
For evidence look how he protected Ms. Manager like that
If he found out about Tadashi hitting Reki and then lugging him to the love hotel he would end him
I just know this man wants to be the one to pummel Ad*m’s face in
He’s really awkward when delivering direct affection, but it’s sweet
Joe:
Joe teases and (lightly) punches people he likes
He’s a lot like Toph from Avatar in this way I think
He’s a protector but sometimes he can also be a true gentle giant
He is caring and nurturing too in a lot of ways and honestly I believe he’s more of the mom friend than Cherry could ever be
He wears his heart on his sleeve (except when it comes to Cherry then he just pretends he’s not in love with him but it doesn’t work)
He pretends it bothers him but he loves making food for everyone and he learns all the things they like and don’t like by heart
Cherry Blossom:
He is also a bitch to the people he cares about
He’s so mean to them help but it’s all out of love
Acts of service too (compliments to my sister for coming up with this)
That’s one of the things he loves about Joe, cuz he like, takes care of him
Cherry always returns the favor in discreet and tsundere ish ways
He’s like Kyoya Ootori he pretends he’s getting something out of it but nah he just cares about them
In other words the squad is full of Tsunderes and it was really hard to come up with Cherry’s. Feel free to add on :)

EP 11 ADAM WATCH
Tumblr media
I have a lot of mixed emotions about this episode. Like, I think it’s goofy that Reki almost wins because apparently Adam didn’t check the weather forecast that day. And that the Full Swing Kiss, the move that put AI SKATER CHERRY BLOSSOM in a wheelchair Reki was able to....just...dodge?? AND the fact that Reki was suddenly able to do the Love Hug?? I feel like there’s a training montage we missed.
But Adam’s near loss and humiliation has to be a catalyst for Something this next episode. And this episode overall sets up a lot of important context for whatever the resolution of his story is.
The episode starts by highlighting all of the pressure Adam is under. We find out that his shady cabal of aunties have set him up with an arranged marriage, supposedly to someone that will strengthen his political standing. Possibly this is a defensive measure taken in response to the increased scrutiny he has been facing with the allegations of collusion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We also have his political party asking him to take on an even more prominent political position so he can act in their interests. I guess he has the best reputation “after everything that’s happened” so they want to use him to be their guy on the inside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notice how the painting behind the political people is this weird, cold barren cliffside while the painting between Adam and Tadashi features some lush greenery. Kind of like Adam is being pulled away from paradise/potential happiness by the demands of the life he’s been forced into.
Tumblr media
(adam can pipe me to the core anytime lol)
In both situations, he is being used as a vehicle for the wishes of other people. There’s no question of whether he wants to get married or take on greater political responsibility, but these things benefit the people around him, so he is expected to do them. It’s sad, his self-made paradise in S can only exist because of the power and privilege he has, but the things he must do to keep that power inhibit him from being able to enjoy his life.
Tumblr media
Everyone around him wants something from him, and the only people who care about him he has pushed away (Cherry/Joe). Yes, Tadashi is by his side but from Adam’s POV he is obliged to be as a servant, plus he hasn’t gotten over the betrayal from seven years ago. Also want to point out how in the above scenes Tadashi is steadfastly next to Adam, but Adam is always facing away from him. Adam has always had Tadashi in his corner, and he still does. But he fails to recognize it, so he feels completely alone. If only he would turn around...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really like this moment with Reki. It’s presented as a him misunderstanding Adam’s use of an English phrase, but also represents their two perspectives. Adam sees himself as alone, so he’s fixated on the idea of an “Eve”, a perfect soulmate who fulfills all his needs. His experience with his family, his political party members, and the general public is such that he doesn’t even dream of having a community of people to belong to, just one person. The time in his life he was happiest was spent with one special person (Tadashi) and he wants that back. That may feed into his fixation on romantic love. It’s the fantasy of a monogamous partnership, where two people are bound together for life.
But for Reki, who has a supportive family, friends at school, and a community in S, it’s “the more the merrier”. If he had his way, the whole world would skate and he would skate with them. Where Adam sees a “third wheel” as an intruder upon his relationship, Reki recognizes that three wheels isn’t enough. He has a whole drawer full of wheels!
Tumblr media
Even if Adam did have his “Eve” it wouldn’t be enough to make him happy. No one person can be everything he needs. He needs to dismantle his fantasy of a secret world for two people and seek happiness in the real world with everyone else.
Tumblr media
I feel like Reki would honestly be a better candidate to pull Adam out of his bullshit than Langa. Reki physically embraced Adam during the race even though it was painful. After getting the stuffing beat out of him, Reki’s instinct is still to extend a hand to Adam, to tell him not to pull away from everyone. Even Reki’s original challenge to Adam at the end of episode three wasn’t to punish Adam, but to make him apologize to Miya. He wanted to mend something between them.
IDK what Tadashi thinks skating with Langa will do. But I guess bc of Adam’s point of view he isn’t willing to hear that message from someone like Reki.
Tumblr media
Also interesting to note that, with Adam no longer seen as the infallible “god of S”, he now fits the description he ascribed to Miya in that episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I feel like Adam senses things coming to an end for him, which is why he frames this last race with Langa as “falling together”. It makes me worried about what he has planned for this final beef. He doesn’t say he wants to beat Langa, or be beaten by him. It feels like anything that happens after the race is over would ultimately be a disappointment. I guess it would be unrealistic for this show to have him like...k*ll h*mself and Langa during this race, but he might try?? Idk with the state of mind he’s in at this point, he probably doesn’t think he has much to lose. I’m stressed!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Weddings are kind of both an ending and a beginning, so with this being the “Wedding Beef” I hope it becomes a transitional moment for him and not an “end”. I want this to have been a learning experience and for him to come out on the other side with a changed perspective (aka be “reborn” like Langa’s skateboard!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I GUESS he needs to be held accountable in some way...but also I feel like he’s suffered enough for one lifetime. IDK! This is why I’m an Adam stan and not like, a court justice  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

HC inspired by this: https://twitter.com/maruboku_b/status/1383001817466896385?s=21
Imagine if Miya did introduce his friend Takashi to the group and his friend, to Miya’s surprise, thought Reki and Langa were super cool.
Langa - Miya could understand but Reki is someone he calls slime (even if he doesn’t mean anything by it) and thought his friend would be turned off by Reki’s loud personality.
But instead Takashi also looks up to Reki as a big bro. He thinks Reki fixing and building skateboards is super cool and whenever he starts to feel intimidated or lose confidence in himself, Reki, who has been there and notices, pats his back and gives him big bro advice like “just have fun” or “don’t let the fear stop you. You’ll be great.” And Reki compliments him after beefs, even if he lost, and Takashi tries to act indifferently but Miya could see that his friend is really happy with the praise.
Then Miya starts to get jealous and anxious that Reki would prefer his friend over him or that Takashi is gonna think he’s looking down on Reki for calling him a slime all the time and stop being friends with him again.
So Miya tries acting nicer, which weirds everyone out, but at the end Reki and Takashi reassure Miya that they like him the way he is and they’re not gonna stop being his friends. 🥺
Bonus: even after that talk, Miya and Langa (who doesn’t like it when Reki turns his attention away from him for too long) continue to get jealous when they see Reki and Takashi talk so the two work together to keep them apart at ‘S’

Okay let’s get on with this. Sk8 ep 8 analysis (spoilers)
So let’s talk about the worst person in the show. Ad*m. So we see that the reason why he is the way he is, his aunts. That doesn’t excuse his actions though. He seems to be mistaking jealousy and maybe even anger as love that’s why he “loves” Langa (ew bitch he’s a MINOR. Ugh pedos). His love also results in pain. Beating people he shows he “loves them” I feel like there’s going to be more to his character. It’s pretty obvious Tadashi and Ad*m had something between them at some point. I mean Tadashi taught him how to skate and that’s just special in general. And Ad*m treats him horribly. I hope Tadashi beats him in the tournament. I can’t actually see Langa racing against Ad*m again in the end. It just doesn’t feel right. They don’t have anything big to fight out, Assdam just wants to race him again. If anything I can see Cherry, Joe, Tadashi, and Ad*m skating against each other (all to beat ad*m).
Now for Langa and Reki throught this episode. Once again I don’t think Reki and Langa should get together YET. Both of them (especially Reki) need to grow a little bit mentally. If they got together now it probably wouldn’t be a very “healthy” relationship, I don’t know how to word it but if Reki needs to focus on himself and mental problems he’s not going to be the best partner because he can’t give Langa the attention he needs and Langa is someone he’ll keep comparing himself to. But that’s just what we see during this episode. And it’s just my own opinion, it might change after the next episode, we’ll see. But we do see Reki sitting at the table (can we talk about how attractive he is in that scene?) and realizing he can still be supportive at least with making boards for people and I just hope that he doesn’t stop skating because of it (he already hasn’t been and we know that because of what his sister said) and he’s noticeably not as happy since he stopped skating (and yes talking to Langa but come on guys that’s not the only reason) because he’s always genuinely loved skating and Ad*m truly scared him and I believe Langa did too. Now Langa, we see him get really excited at S when he thought Reki was there but no it was Assdam. You can see Langa doesn’t feel as excited as he did before. He’s not getting lost in it anymore and that’s probably because Reki his best friend who GOT him into skating wasn’t there. It’s so different when you don’t have - oh holy shit. Guys what if their dynamic turns into the Tadashi and Ad*m dynamic. Reki got Langa into skating just like Tadashi got Ad*m into skating. They both have something between them. Reki is thinking of just helping build boards and such like Tadashi sits in the car and does stuff and helps ad*m. Now that could be possible BUT I don’t think Langa will be creepy or weird like Ad*m. It would be awesome to see them replace them as a better duo. Anyway, it’s different when you don’t have the person who started you on skating with you. I’ve been there. It just kinda loses its fun sparkle at first. Also, Langa could really like Reki, but it could honestly be a misunderstanding of the word “like” because the wiki says he’s a little oblivious. I do think he acts likes Reki though even if he doesn’t realize realize it yet. Also we love supportive moms (wish I had one). Honestly I think the main thing everyone wants to see for the following episodes is just that Ad*m gets his ass handed to him. Also the when Ad*m says he’ll find his “Eve” (that scene was nerve racking ngl. Also young cherry 😍) I do believe Tadashi used to be his Eve or will be his Eve and take him away from the “garden” which is S. Because in the Bible Eve listened to the devil and took a bite of the fruit and offered it to Adam. So in some thoughts it was Eve who got them kicked out of the garden. So Tadashi could totally be his Eve in a different sense then Ad*m thinks. I guess we’ll just have to see.
let me know what you think! Sorry this was long winded or not very understandable.

Misunderstanding
Reki starts getting worried about Langa when he notices the way he's constantly looking at him during class; the window serves as a pretty good mirror actually.
He's not as happy as he used to be, but Reki has no idea why; at first he's almost sure it's because he's thinking about his Dad, so he decides not to ask questions. But then he realizes that Langa is hiding something from him.
He doesn't know what to do, he could ask, but doesn't want to press him... Or force him to tell Reki something he is clearly keeping from him for a reason.
As he tries to think about it, Kana, a pretty girl from his class approaches him with her friends; they're constantly asking about Langa and almost begging Reki to bring him to one of their parties (Reki usually wonders why they ask him instead of going to Langa themselves).
He's so worried that he mentions something to Kana and all the girls grin like they just won the lottery.
"I think he needs some love," she giggles, prompting Reki to look back in confusion.
"Love? What do you–"
"I meant a girlfriend!" She rolls her eyes, looking at Reki like he's an idiot.
Perhaps he is.
He's about to tell her that she's wrong, when he realizes that he actually has no idea; Reki is not sure why it hurts him so much thinking about Langa with a girlfriend, but... If that's what he needs, it doesn't matter what Reki feels.
"I think... you might be right."
"I am," she assures him, winking at him. "So you're gonna take him to the party this weekend? You two can meet a couple of girls there!"
Reki nods, despite of his own feelings, he's really not enthusiastic about it, but Langa is his friend and he wants him to be happy.
"Great! I'll text you later!"
When the girls walk away, giggling and whispering to each other, Reki notices Langa, waiting for him at the end of the hallway.
"I didn't see you there!" He grins, although he regrets it as soon as he sees the frown on Langa's face.
"Of course you didn't, you were too busy talking with your friends," he says, looking irritated. It confuses Reki, Langa doesn't usually get annoyed easily.
"I can introduce you–"
"No. Let's just get out of here."
Reki realizes something's wrong when they get to the park and Langa starts falling more than usual from his skateboard; his mind is clearly elsewhere.
After sighing, Langa finally stops in front of him, although all the irritation has vanished from his features, replaced by sadness.
"Reki, are you going to ask one of them out?"
"What? You mean Kana and her friends? No, no!"
Langa relaxes, the corners of his lips quirk up into a smile again and Reki finally sees what's going on.
He probably likes one of them and doesn't want Reki to ask her out.
"No, you don't need to worry about that," he says, feeling a little bit down after realizing that Langa has a crush on a girl from their class.
"Let's go back to my apartment this time," Langa mumbles, taking Reki's hand in his. "My mother is working but she told me we can order pizza."
"Sounds good," Reki says absentmindedly, thinking that the party will probably be a torture for him.
***
It takes a little bit of convincing for Langa to agree to go to the party. It confuses Reki for a moment until he reminds himself that it's just because Langa is not very good at talking with other people.
"It's going to be great!" He assures him, even though he doesn't believe it himself. "There are going to be many girls of our class there!"
"Girls. Right," Langa grimaces, looking at Reki like he's in pain. "You... you want to go, right?"
"Yes," of course he doesn't, but he's determined to make Langa smile like he used to.
"Well, if you want to I'll go with you."
***
Langa takes his hand as soon as they reach the house, prompting Reki to think he's feeling a little bit nervous.
"Reki, Langa!" Kana grins. "I'm so glad you decided to come."
However, she narrows her eyes when she sees their hands, but doesn't make any comments.
Without even realizing what's going on, they're introduced to a couple of girls and Reki is so focused trying to remember every name, he doesn't realize he let go of Langa's hand at some point.
Actually, Langa is currently at the other side of the room, surrounded by enthusiastic girls who seem to be overwhelming him with questions.
He looks tense; he's constantly looking around the room, looking for something, so Reki takes a step in his direction, but Kana grabs him by the arm to stop him.
"He'll be fine," she assures him. "You have to let him meet new people."
"Right," the redhead bites his bottom lip, wondering if he's actually the one overwhelming Langa.
Kana leads him to a couch, where a girl is giggling with a boy while sitting on his lap. Reki tries not to look at them and finds himself blushing.
"You're really cute, Reki," Kana chuckles, probably making fun of him for acting like that. "Not like other boys I've met."
"I hope that's a compliment," he mumbles, flustered.
"It is. Actually, I was wondering..."
"Reki, I want to go."
Langa's voice startles him, but his expression worries him; the boy looks like he's in pain.
"Are you alright? Did something happen?" Rising from the couch, Reki gets closer to his friend.
"No. I'm f-fine. I just want to go S," he mumbles. "If you want to sta–No, actually, I want you to come with me."
Even though he's clearly talking to Reki, Langa says the last words while glaring at something over Reki's shoulder.
"Please," he adds, softly, vulnerable as he stares back at the redhead.
"Of course, let's go," Reki smiles, taking Langa's hand in his.
He says goodbye to Kana quickly, because Langa is already pulling him towards the front door.
"Are you really okay?"
"I'm better now," Langa says, intertwining their fingers together.
***
"Is it just me or the kid is skateboarding more aggressively than usual?" Joe comments, looking at the monitors.
"He is," Reki agrees with him. "I don't know what's going on, but he's been acting weird lately. I took him to a party so he could meet girls and–"
Joe snorts, Cherry rolls his eyes and Miya frowns at him.
"Are you kidding me, right?"
"No, why would I–"
"Girls, seriously?" Miya stares at him in disbelief.
"Yes, girls! I don't understand why is that so funny to you!"
"Langa is gay," Cherry says casually, still with his eyes on the monitor. It looks like Langa is gonna beat Shadow again.
"Oh... Oh!" Reki suddenly feels like an idiot. He's Langa's best friend and he had no idea... "How do you know?"
"It's obvious," Joe says.
"Reki!"
He gets startled a second time that night by Langa. Reki wasn't paying too much attention to the competition so he didn't realize when it ended.
And suddenly, Langa's arms are all around him. He likes to embrace Reki every time he wins, which is quite a lot.
However, this time he lifts Reki from the ground, reminding the redhead that his friend is way stronger than he looks.
"Let's celebrate!"
"It's late, Langa–"
"Let's go to my restaurant," Joe offers. "I'll cook something for us."
He opens the restaurant just for them, although their friends sit on a table and leave Reki and Langa in another.
Joe puts a candle on theirs and winks at them before leaving. Reki starts feeling quite confused.
"Listen, Langa... I'm sorry for bringing you to that party... I just wanted you to meet someone. I wanted you to be happy."
Suddenly, a fond grin appears on Langa's face.
"Reki, I like–"
"Boys, I know... I'm sorry for not figuring it out before... I can do better next time. Just tell me if you like someone from our class... What's your type?"
"Oblivious," Langa chuckles, eyes glimmering with happiness as he takes Reki's face in his hands. "Funny, passionate. With beautiful, bright red hair. Wears hoodies, loves skateboarding more than anything, kind... Very handsome, has–"
"Alright, alright!" Reki puts a hand to cover Langa's lips. He's blushing to the tip of his ears. "I get it now!"
"Sorry, I shouldn't have–"
"I like you too!" He cuts Langa off, before the boy can start apologizing for it.
"Really?"
"Yes, you don't have to sound like–"
"I think I'm in love with you," Langa whispers sincerely, looking happy again. He's beaming at Reki. "Can I kiss you?"
"Yes."
Reki is not prepared for the possessive kiss, but he enjoys it quite a lot. It's almost like Langa had been waiting to do that for a while.
Someone clears his throat and Reki remembers that his friends are right there. Blushing, he pulls away, but not without noticing the way Langa chases his lips afterwards.
It's quite endearing.
Shadow is looking at them with a grin and tears in his eyes (for a moment Reki thinks he'll start sobbing) Cherry finally takes his hand off Miya's eyes and Joe leans over their table to put two dishes in front of them.
"Don't tell me you knew about this too..." Reki says, trying not to blush as Langa moves him easily to put him over his lap.
"About you two being idiots in love?" Miya rolls his eyes, but still smiles at them. "From the very beginning. Langa realized it first, by the way."
"That I did," Langa agrees, grinning from ear to ear, before kissing Reki's hand.
"Please, we want to eat! There's no need to be gross here!" Miya complains, although Reki knows he's actually happy for them.

oikawa grumbled under his breath as he walked alongside of y/n. normally, he would be more than happy to be hanging with her so casually. but that certainly wasn't the case at the moment, seeing as, not only is iwaizumi with them, but also the five other friends of hers
"hey hey, where are we going exactly?" oikawa whispered to her
y/n peered back at him and smiled "well, we're just going wherever. it's been pretty long since i last saw my friends, after all" she said "but you can stay behind if you don't wanna come with oikawa-san" she said with furrowed brows as she took notice of his grumbling
oikawa took one quick glance at reki and grumbled even more as he shook his head "no, im coming with!" he huffed
y/n nodded and chuckled sheepishly "okay, oikawa-san.. tell me if you need anything" she said
"hey, actually.. am i even allowed to be here?" oikawa asked with a look of dread as he looks around them
joe, cherry, miya, reki, and shadow were casually chatting along and yet he felt a little left out.
"of course, oikawa-san" y/n reassured him with a smile "why? do you feel awkward?" she asked him. she then averted his eyes towards iwaizumi and mused "even iwaizumi-san is getting along with them quite well" she said
oikawa sweat dropped and followed her line of sight "that's cus he's bonding with joe over some weird crossfit stuff!" he exclaimed. oikawa sighed and stared longingly at his best friend "even miya likes him" he playfully cried "all that kid does is bully me and call me a slime" he sulked
y/n sweat dropped and chuckled at his antics. "well then, you can stick with me if you want" she mused. "i won't let you feel left out, oikawa-san" she chuckled "since you did the same for me when i fist joined the team, remember?" she smiled
oikawa stared up at her with comical tears flowing down his cheeks and beamed "thank you! you're the best, y/n-chan!!" oikawa cheered
y/n laughed as the brunette hugged her arm and leaned down to rest his head on her shoulder. "you look silly oikawa-san, please stand straight" she sweat dropped as she struggled to walk with his towering form clinging onto her
oikawa laughed and did as he was told, though still keeping their arms locked together. "dont be like that, y/n-chan~" oikawa cooed "y know you love me" he grinned cockily
y/n chuckled and sighed "sure, oikawa-san. whatever you say" she said
from behind them, reki watched with a smile as she and oikawa goofed around. he's always happy to see her so lively and becoming close with new people, after all.
"well..??" miya mused as he gestured to the two with an expectant look
"well what?" reki tilted his head in confusion
miya rolled his eyes and pulled him down to his height to whisper "aren't you gonna do something?" he asked
reki furrowed his brows and let out a sheepish laugh "what do you mean?" he asked "what do i need to do?"
miya sighed in exasperation "you're so stupid. no wonder you can't go up from your position as a slime" he said
reki huffed and ruffled his hair, making miya groan in annoyance "don't call me stupid! also, what're you even on about?" he said
"what're you gonna do if she suddenly gets together with him?" miya asked him
reki blinked in response and let out a nervous laugh "what..? what kinda question is that?" he mused
"and what kind of answer is that?" miya spat out in annoyance "you know what? whatever" he said "just don't blame anyone but yourself if y/n suddenly finds a new best friend and gets a boyfriend that isn't you" miya sneered
reki frowned and hit him in the head, making miya whimper "shut up! she won't do that" reki said with a meek laugh
reki peered up at her, watching as she listened to oikawa with a weary look on her face as he rants to her about something stupid with his usual charming but cocky grin.
"she won't do that." he muttered to himself. "she promised."
soon, all of them had arrived at some random restaurant since y/n and reki had been complaining about food for about an hour straight, and frankly, cherry has had enough.
"y know, you probably should've declined adam's beef" reki mused. y/n raised a brow and looked at him in confusion "what? why?" she asked "i won either way.."
Tumblr media
reki sighed and turned to look at her "well yeah, but adam's totally nuts! and didn't you promise you won't skate with him anymore?" y/n gulped and looked away from him "i did promise that didn't i.." she mumbled
"well, it's whatever." she waved it off "it already happened. besides, im totally fine!" she grinned
reki watched as she went to grab some of the food, only for her to wince as her wounded hand grazed the hot bowl. "ow" she winced under her breath as she cradled her hand
reki sweat dropped and laughed at her "see? what'd i tell you" he mused as he went to grab her hand "here, let me see—"
he couldn't seem to finish his sentence since he was beaten to it by oikawa's interjection. "tsk tsk, y/n-chan you gotta be careful you know?" oikawa playfully scolded her as he grabbed her hand and gently massaged her palm to try and ease the pain down
y/n huffed and nodded along as she let's oikawa hold her hand for a while longer "sorry, oikawa-san" she muttered as oikawa playfully pokes her cheek to annoy her
"hm." reki pursed his lips as he let out a low hum, watching the scene play out with partial confusion and annoyance
"haha! be careful next time!" reki exclaimed with a grin as he ruffles her hair and pulled her closer to him, making oikawa loose his grasp on her. "yeah sorry" she grinned sheepishly as she looks up at reki with reddening cheeks
reki side eyes oikawa and sends him a smile, to which the brunette responded to with an irked and painfully forced smile in return
"haha, well then.." oikawa mused "here you go, y/n-chan" he said as he held a sushi before her with his chopsticks "you should let me feed you since your hand's pretty messed up" oikawa suggested with a smile
y/n looked up at the brunette and then down at the sushi and eagerly nodded. "okay!" she said as she went to chomp on the sushi, only to be met with nothing.
"eh?" she mumbled in confusion as she stares at the chopsticks which were now empty
"actually, i'll do that!" reki interjected with a sweet smile as he snatches the sushi from his chopsticks with his own "here, y/n! say 'ahh!' " reki cooed as he held it to her with his hand cupping the underside from crumbs
"oh.. um.. okay?" she muttered in confusion as she turned to face reki with her cheeks slowly heating up "a-ahh" she smiled nervously as she went to eat the sushi, only for it to be snatched away once again
"my my, reki-kun~" oikawa cooed with an irked smile "you shouldn't pass around people's food" he said "now it's all mushy and gross" oikawa stiffly laughed as he put away the sushi and reached for a new one
reki took a deep breath and sent him an equally irked smile as well. "ah is that so?" he chuckled "my bad.."
"have this instead then, y/n" reki said as he reached for a dumpling and held it to her mouth
"have this instead, y/n-chan~" oikawa cooed as he held the sushi to her mouth as well
"oh..okay.." y/n sweat dropped as she looked at the two boys beside her with a look of dread. "actually, maybe i'll just finish my drink for now—"
"ha, see! she didn't want the sushi anyways! haha what a shame!" reki cooed as he taunted oikawa
"well apparently, she's also not in a dumpling mood, is she, reki-kun?" oikawa cooed back through gritted teeth
as the two boys telepathically argue, y/n sat quietly as her stomach grumbled, wanting nothing more than to eat at the moment.
"geez. those two slimes really are a good-for-nothing" miya said with a sigh. he then turned to y/n with a smug cat-like grin and held his chopsticks out for her
"guess i'll have to feed you instead" he cooed with an evil laugh
y/n beamed and happily munched on the food, "thank you, miya" she said with a smile as she lets miya feed her the meal
miya chuckled and sent the two boys a smug smirk. reki and oikawa deadpans at him and huffed. "did he just." oikawa muttered "yeah he did." reki replied
"just how long is this gonna go on for?" shadow sighed as he watched oikawa and reki subtly shove each other by masking it with friendly smiles and conversations
"dunno, but im enjoying this!!" miya exclaimed as he happily let's y/n feed him as well
shadow deadpanned as he watched the boy purr and roll around like an over joyed cat.
"well of course you are" he sweat dropped
"man, just how long til we get there?" reki groaned out as he shuffles around in his seat
Tumblr media
"but it's so boring! why can't we just skate there" reki huffed as he reluctantly planted himself still in his seat
"you're not a child. stop acting like one or im kicking you out of this car" cherry said in annoyance
"because it's too far and everyone here will pass out from the heat" cherry responded with a sigh "also.. if its so hot.." he trailed off. "then why are you two cuddling as if its the peak of winter?!" he exclaimed as he gestured to y/n and reki, who was pressed against each other as they both practically melt into a puddle
"because reki said he missed me" y/n replied "so i wanted to comfort him"
cherry peered down at her with a grimace as he took note of her sweat drenched face, and her meek smile "you're sweating all over the seats. that's disgusting." cherry deadpanned
"but i don't want reki to be sad" she reasoned
"he looks perfectly fine to me" cherry shook his head in exasperation "and you." he averted his eyes towards miya "what are you doing?"
miya looked back at him and grinned sheepishly "we're bonding, don't you see?" he cooed with a playful scoff
"bonding?! who the hell said that?! get off me!" oikawa exclaimed as he tried to pluck miya off of his lap
"we're bonding!" miya hissed at him "it just so happened that theres an ac directly above you, so this position is necessary" he said
"piss off, catboy" oikawa playfully scowled at him "if it's so hot then take off that damn cat hoodie you have on!"
"no way!" miya exclaimed as he tried to pry away oikawa's hands, thus causing more chaos within the car
"hey stop moving around!!" shadow scolded them  from the driver's seat "and you two love birds! stop sweating on my seats!"
"we're not sweating on them!" reki exclaimed
"its practically river back there, shut up redhead!"
cherry had a look of dread on his face as he managed to just sit and endure the whole thing. though that was soon ruined as he turned to look at joe and iwaizumi, only to find them arm wrestling like a bunch of crazy gym freaks.
"arm wrestling? really?" cherry scoffed in disbelief "in the middle of a car ride? in a moving vehicle?"
"dont worry kaoru!" joe mused "im totally beating this kid"
"yeah right" iwaizumi grinned as he slammed joe's arm down with a look of triumph
"what the?!" joe spluttered "no way! kaoru! he cheated i swear!" he exclaimed
"i don't care" cherry grumbled back "hey, step on the gas and just take us there for christ's sake" he said to shadow with a weary sigh
"geez, no need to tell me twice" shadow replied
"WOAH!" reki and y/n cheered as they looked around the empty skatepark "SO COOL!" they exclaimed as they ran around the open space
Tumblr media
"how'd you find this, oikawa-san?" she asked the brunette with sparkling eyes "i didnt think miyagi even had skateparks!"
reki perked up and faced him "girls? do you have a girlfriend already or something?" he asked the brunette
"oh? you like it here huh?" oikawa mused "then let's go again sometime" he suggested "also, one of the girls at school told me about it" he said
"i don't" oikawa replied with furrowed brows "why?"
"no reason" reki cooed as he have oikawa a friendly pat on the back "just thought it'd be weird to be so close to y/n if you have a girlfriend"
"but you don't so it's fine.. totally fine.."
"oikawa-san is very popular at school so he has a lot of fangirls." y/n explained as she skates past them
"popular?!" reki exclaimed in surprise "you're popular, oikawa-san?!"
"huh? so what if i am?!" oikawa huffed in response "and why are you so surprised?!" he narrowed his eyes at the redhead. "well i didnt think you would be famous like that" reki said with a laugh "well i guess it makes sense since you're an athlete and all"
oikawa sweat dropped and peered down at him "i can't tell if you're mocking me or if you're being genuine" he said
reki smiled at him and sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck "im being genuine" he said "its cool that you're a big shot athlete already at your age. you're probably really talented too" reki said "you're pretty admirable, oikawa-san . i can see why y/n enjoys being with you" reki let out a soft chuckle
oikawa's eyes softened at his words and awkwardly shuffled in his place. "you're pretty cool too, reki-kun" oikawa admitted with a sigh
"im kinda jealous of you, actually. you don't even have to try and yet.." oikawa trailed off as he watched y/n look at reki with love filled eyes from afar.
reki looked at him and tilted his head in confusion. "yet what..?" he asked
oikawa shook his head and waved it off "nothing, nothing. nevermind" he chuckled "just go skate or something" he said "i'm staying here"
reki grinned and playfully slapped his back. "don't be like that!" he laughed "you're the one who brought us here, so you gotta join in on the fun!" reki beamed as he dragged oikawa over to the rest of the group
"oh? have you two finally made up?" cherry mused as he watched reki drag oikawa around, while the brunette complains about the wind ruining his hair.
"made up? but we never fought" reki mused as he got in his skateboard
"you say that as if we didn't have to sit through your passive aggressive exchange during lunch" shadow sweatdropped
"eh? what'd you mean?" reki cooed "your memory's going stale, old man shadow!"
"im only twenty four!" shadow yelled back
"over already?!" reki whined as they reluctantly followed them to the car
Tumblr media
"well, its already dark" iwaizumi said as he stretched his arms over his head. "and we've been here for hours"
"hes just sad cus he hasn't skated in forever" miya sneered as he skated past them and placed his board into the trunk
"fine" reki sighed in reply. "hey, was it fun?" he asked oikawa, making the brunette shrug. "it was fun, yeah.. though falling on my ass wasn't exactly the greatest" oikawa replied
"exactly! let's just stay here for a while!" reki pouted. "we can skate again tomorrow, reki" y/n said with a smile as she patted his back reassuringly
"don't worry, oikawa-san! you were actually pretty good!" y/n complimented him with a grin
"yeah yeah, you flatter me too much!" oikawa chuckled as he nudged her playfully with his shoulder
"anyways, im pretty tired." she yawned. "i think i'll just sleep on the way home" she said as she entered the car and sat down on the leather seats
"..."
oikawa and reki side eyed each other, shuffling on their spots as they send each other one last 'friendly' smile before sprinting towards the car, trying to claim the seat next to her.
"what the hell" iwaizumi deadpanned as he watched them push and shove each other as they fought for the seat beside her "i thought they made up already" iwaizumi sighed
"and are they really that dumb to not realize she's sitting in the middle." miya chimed in as he peered at the two with a grimace
"you can sit on both sides, slimes!" miya yelled at them
"oh right" they both muttered in realisation as they quietly take their seat on either side of her.
"ehem." reki fake coughed. "y/n!!" he cooed at her with a beaming smile
y/n looked over at him with tired eyes and smiled back "yes reki?" she asked as her cheeks gradually heat up
"if you ever wanna sleep, you can use me as a pillow" reki suggested with a grin as he patted his shoulder
"me too! but im probably more comfortable since reki-kun here would probably poke your eye out with his spiky ass hair" oikawa cooed with a sweet smile
y/n spluttered as she looked back at oikawa with a look of disbelief "what? his.. his hair?" she muttered
"awh! but oikawa-san, you might suffocate her with the amount of hairspray you have on to keep your hair in place!" reki cooed back with a giggle
y/n sweat dropped and nervously looked at the two boys as they continue to smile and beam at each other despite their awfully insulting words. "i see.." y/n nervously chuckled. "well, i appreciate it" she said
"no problem!" they beamed at her
"its been half an hour." miya commented
Tumblr media
"yeah." iwaizumi nodded along "what's gonna happen next? i think i know."
miya hummed and side eyed them. "y/n's asleep." he muttered in a deeper 'narrator' type voice
"i see." iwaizumi nodded
oikawa hummed to himself as he slyly watched her head slowly starting to fall and instinctively lean against somewhere. "wow. this ride's pretty long" oikawa mused
"her head is falling." miya said. "i see." iwaizumi replied.
"mhm." reki nodded
a soft sigh could be heard as y/n's head slowly falls towards reki's direction, causing a smug smirk to form on his lips
"the slime won." miya clapped quietly, with iwaizumi sulking for his friend
oikawa gritted his teeth as a vein popped out of his temple out of frustration. he swiftly grabbed her head and dropped it down to his own shoulder, waking her in the process from the sudden pull
"what the..?" y/n mumbled as he looked up at oikawa in confusion
"nevermind! the other slime won by force!" miya commented as he glared at oikawa while iwaizumi smiled proudly
"what're you doing?!" reki exclaimed as he grabbed her head and forcefully rested it on his shoulder instead
"im letting her get comfortable, that's all" oikawa mused as he placed her head back onto him
"reki?! oikawa-san?! what are you guys doing?! " she frantically asked as she felt her head being shook around, and her neck coming close to snapping
"shh! sleep!" oikawa shushed her as he held her close and gently ran his fingers through her hair. "i- why are you guys pulling on me?!" she shrieked out
"okay that's enough." cherry sighed as he turned around to hit both boys on their head with his fan "let the girl rest. and stop fighting." he sighed "just sleep altogether or something"
"how?!"
in the end, oikawa and reki ended up resting their head on her shoulder while iwaizumi rests peacefully beside them. miya, however, was sprawled out on top of them with his head on y/n's lap and iwaizumi holding his legs down to keep him from slipping
all in all, it was a cute sight, and whether they admit it or not, joe, cherry, and shadow definitely took loads of pictures.
"geez." joe sighed
"these kids are making me feel old" he mused "when was the last time we were like this, kaoru?" he asked as he gestured to their sleeping figures.
"since never." cherry deadpanned "not once did we ever do that" he said, making joe sweat drop
"sheesh, atleast play along or something"

Here guys this is a quick Renga fic I wrote because I thought of the idea late at night when I couldn't sleep
Based on the ending of ep 11
TW: Blood, injury, hospital, blacking out, Ad*m
What Could Have Been
The race was nearing its finale, Reki's adrenaline rushing through his system like a strong current in a river, he could feel it, could feel the strength it was giving him as his wheels start to falter. He knew ADAM was growing near, nearer and nearer, his anger emanating from him in waves and daring to bring Reki down a peg, yet he could not let that distract him. Reki knew his wheels would not last much longer, he could feel them, he could almost pinpoint the exact moment where they would come off and spiral him out of control.
Reki let out a cry as the finish line grew close, ADAM crying out with him as the crowd around them frenzied. Just a little further, come on was all Reki could think before disaster struck him and he knew his luck had run out - his front left wheel flew out from under his board earlier than anticipated and sealing his fate. He had to act fast, do anything in his power to even stand a chance at winning, this was his final chance. With the crowd crying out his name, he pushes himself and his skateboard upwards as to not fall too soon and crossed the line with ADAM by his side.
Everything seemed silent if only for a moment, time had come to a standstill as the two of them crossed the line, slowing enough for everyone to see who the true winner was. When it all sped back up again everything came crashing down at once, - it was at this moment Reki knew that his time had come. With his adrenaline running out and the pain coming back to him at full force, his skateboard fell out from beneath him and sent him crashing into the concrete ground, his body being the only thing to skid him to a painful stop.
Reki could hear the cheers of the crowd, the chanting of his own name even though he knew he had lost, however it all seemed so faint, so quiet to him. Had he hit his head on his way down? Or was everything coming to him at once that his mind just couldn't process it all? He didn't know. All Reki could feel was the wet blood on his back, the blood on his face and the pain surrounding his core and paralysing him so that he could not move a muscle. Despite everything Reki could feel a smile on his face, he could feel laughter bubble from within him, all he could think about was the fact that this is what is felt like to be the one people are rooting for.
In a second Langa was by his side, carefully placing his hands on Reki's side in comfort as he feared for his friend's wellbeing. His careful hands on Reki had Reki smiling even more, the laughter bubbling within threatening to burst - after all he had made ADAM, the king of 'S', a laughing stock! But when the laughter did break free it wasn't what either Reki or Langa were expecting. As soon as Reki opened his mouth to laugh a spurt of blood came out in a fit of coughs that shook Reki's body, forcing him to curl up in pain.
The adrenaline had retired and a searing, agonising pain was hired in its place, much much worse than before. It had Langa crying his name, shouting something to the others who had rushed to Reki's side. Reki could see the blurred silhouettes of Miya, Joe and Cherry as they spoke to one another, scared for the safety of their friend. Langa seemed the most affected as Reki could only slightly make out the faded sight of tears on his face before his vision faded to black.
It was a day later when Reki awoke, his whole body numb and tired. He could barely even figure out where he was let alone what had happened to get him here. As his sight slowly returned to him, the blurriness fading away, he realised that the place he was in was a pure, blinding white and for a moment Reki thought he was dead. To his right was a table with cards, flowers and what appears to be a small box all wrapped up, to his left was a big machine gently beeping away with vital signs, numbers and all sorts of weird symbols. As soon as Reki could comprehend he was in a hospital he sprang up and looked around in a panicked manner, how did he get here? How did the race end? What happened? In his panic Reki sat his sights on someone he didn't even realise was resting himself on his legs, someone with hair as soft as snow and the colour of the sky.
"Langa?" Reki spoke, his voice raspy and scratched.
Langa blinked his sleepy eyes open and smiled up at Reki before sitting upright in his chair and stretching his arms out in front of him. Once he realised that Reki was awake and alert he threw himself at him, wrapping his arms around Reki's neck and burying his face in Reki's shoulder.
"Reki! Oh, Reki, you're awake..." His voice was quiet and gentle, sending shivers down Reki's back as he spoke against Reki's skin. Reki wrapped his arms around Langa's chest in return, noticing the bandages adorning his arms. How hurt was he? He could barely feel his own pain which was probably due to all the medication he'd been given. "You're awake.. you idiot, you're awake."
Holding back a laugh, Reki spoke back, remembering the race he had with ADAM and how close of a call it was, remembering the lengths he went to to make sure he would reach the finish line. It hurt to think about, but the race had not ruined his pride, only fuelled it. "You know a beef like that wouldn't take me out, right?" ""It could have done, with all the injuries you've received." Reki gave Langa a toothed smile and a head tilt that set off fireworks in Langa's heart. "Please, like a few injuries would get to me!"
Langa moved his head back to give Reki a look before laughing in relief, holding Reki closer to himself. Langa had watched it all unfold, how he saw Reki fall unconscious before his very eyes, how ADAM dared to try and walk closer to finish Reki off, and how everyone put themselves in front of Reki to protect him. Joe was the one to get ADAM to properly back off and Langa owed him the world for it as he would do anything to make sure Reki was safe. Once everything was clear Cherry announced that he'd called an ambulance and gave everyone the meeting spot for it, mentioning that it wouldn't take long for it to get there. Without a second thought, Langa had taken Reki into his arms and had raced off, only wanting to get Reki to that spot as soon as possible. Since then Langa's been waiting for Reki to wake up in this hospital, waiting and waiting, fearing the worst after he was made stable.
"You gave us a scare is all." Langa sighed, moving himself back so that he can stare into Reki's amber eyes, the light in them proving he's alive. Langa would have found himself entranced had it not been for Reki speaking up. "All of you?" "Yes, everyone came to pay you a visit, even Shadow stopped by to make sure you were okay." Reki's look dims. "Shadow... is he okay?" "He's fine, are you?" Reki pauses for a moment to think over the question. Was he okay? He still felt incredibly numb and he had, he's assuming, bandages all over his body, but despite all that? "You're here, of course I'm fine."
They smiled at each other before Langa pulled away and took Reki's hands in his own, keeping his gaze on Reki as they shared a silent but passionate moment of peace. Reki might not have won the race but as long as he had Langa by his side he'd already won at life.
