"What happened earlier?"

Given the situation that happened in the kitchen earlier, I thought it best for MC and me to share a room in the sleeping car so that I could have a proper conversation with them about it. I know that means having Luke continue to be exposed to Mammon and risk having another episode, but I don't know if I'll have another opportunity to be alone with MC, and there are some things they need to know.

"What you witnessed was greed's energy bouncing off Mammon and Luke," I answer. "The more they wanted to go on that trip, the stronger that energy became."

"And the more dangerous."

"Exactly."

"But why would Luke experience greed?" There's the million dollar question. Thankfully, MC seems smart enough to understand the answer.

"An angel's power is connected to one of the seven virtues. Obviously, we're supposed to practice all of them, but the strength of the individual connections differs from person to person. Less experienced angels tend to think that virtue and sin are complete opposites, but in reality they're merely two sides of the same coin."

"Kind of like yin and yang. Good and bad are intertwined; you can't have one without the other. And since Luke's very charitable and kind, he's more likely to experience greed and envy than some of the other angels."

"Correct." MC's following along quite nicely.

"Does the electricity happen to everyone that experiences a sin around a demon?" I shake my head.

"It's a phenomenon that only occurs between angels and demons. The effects are more internal for humans. Any signs of that electricity will be in the eyes, and even then it's so subtle that those that don't know what to look for will dismiss it as a mere trick of the light."

"I see." MC pauses to stretch their arms. "What would have happened to Luke if you didn't step in?" I sigh.

"An angel's tolerance for sin is like a rubber band; it can stretch pretty far, but eventually it will snap. Luke was moments away from throwing a temper tantrum, and those tend to be more violent than a human's."

"That makes sense. I mean, you might say that the flood that Noah experienced was the result of God throwing a hissy fit."

"How so?" I'm genuinely interested in MC's response, but I'm also testing them a bit with my question.

"Well, if something I poured my heart into creating didn't work the way I intended it to, I'd be pretty upset. Not just at the creation, but at myself. The possibility that I wasn't as good as I thought I was would hurt my pride, and I'd end up lashing out at my creation, potentially destroying it in the process."

Bingo.

"That certainly is an interesting take, MC." As much as I'd like to tell them that their reasoning is sound and that it partially explains how Lucifer turned out the way he did, I have a feeling that I'd get my ass chewed out for agreeing with the idea that God is capable of sinning. That kinda defeats the whole "He's perfect" thing.

"Do you think Luke's going to be okay bunking with Mammon?" I shrug.

"He has to learn how to control his greed and envy, and he can't do that if he doesn't know what he's up against. 'Know thy enemy', as they say." I sigh. "I hate to think of the brothers that way, especially since we were once family, but they are the Avatars of Sin for a reason. It'd be foolish of me to not take that into account."

MC appears deep in thought. I can tell that they have more to say, but for some reason they're hesitating. Are they afraid that I'll end our conversation if they keep talking?

Michael and the other seraphim would tell me that I should. A human has no business knowing this much. I know a few angels that still hold humanity in contempt for what Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden, and that's ancient history at this point.

However, I want to know exactly what MC's thinking. I find their intellect to be one of the most attractive things about them. Not that they're bad to look at--because they're not--but there are plenty of pretty people that don't have any complex thoughts in their head. It makes for rather boring conversations. At least I don't have to worry about that with MC.

"Hey, Simeon?" I hum in acknowledgement. "You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, but I was wondering what sin you're most susceptible to experiencing."

Oh. We're going there.

If it were anyone else, I would change the subject. Knowing an angel's weaknesses is powerful, and people have used that against us too many times for me to count.

But I don't think MC would do that. They've behaved too honorably.

I take a deep breath to ease my nerves.

"Wrath."

Lavender Garden - By Cheongdam (7.5/10)

A dramatic coming of age ball. A rich young master and a begger who pretended to be a good servant. A very important lost piece of jewelry. This is a short story, and I think you already know how it ends.

Noah is a cocky, gorgeous blond jerk. His personality is he's poor and he's bitter about that. He was taken in by a criminal group because of his looks. They're all he has in this life.

He became a tutor, once. For a rich young boy. They became close friends. Now, that boy is about to come of age. Noah wants to return the important heirloom necklace he stole, so he attends as a waiter.

The new master of the house finds him.

By the way Noah remains rude and crude through the whole entire story. That's the one unique thing about this. He is not misunderstood or secretly sensitive. He is just a gutter rat. A mean one. Him returning the necklace is clearly because of his weird relationship with Henry...which is very weird...

Henry's obsession with him is unexpected.

They drink together and chat about the good old days. Henry was lonely. Noah was fun. Henry used to get whipped when Noah made mistakes on his schoolwork. Noah made more mistakes on purpose because he loves the scars all over Noah's body.

You know normal stuff.

Henry did catch him stealing. He was supposed to die, but Henry had the weirdest fascination with him (and hurting him) from day one. He doesn't want Noah dead or anything, but the scar fetish gets pretty extreme.

Noah is generally annoyed by Henry's freakish crush.

He tells Henry he has to grow up, marry, and be a good noble man.

Henry drugs him and ties him up, which seems like a no.

Noah struggles, but Henry didn't think he'd get this chance. He didn't think Noah would be dumb enough to come back to visit. There's no time to waste.

He tells Noah he can have it all.

Money.

Power.

He can be a spoiled male mistress forever.

It's an offer he can't refuse....under any circumstances...

More creepy musing about the scars. How romantic.

Noah also kinda had feelings for him, which is messed up for MANY reasons, but he agrees. Presumably they live happily together while Henry's actual bride suffers horribly for the rest of her days.

"Of course, my sunlight." Alois insisted, "I won't have this surprise ruined." You grinned at the quick peck he gave your cheek before the two of you were continuing on. You tried to use your steps to deduce where he was taking you but the gardens of this estate were as grand as the vampire who had first designed them and so you had no clue where you currently were. "Take a large step over the threshold, don't trip." Alois spoke softly after the small whistling creak of some door or gate opening. Where on Earth was he taking you?

You took a very exaggerated step to avoid tripping, as your lover had advised, and you continued to allow Alois to lead you until he was guiding you to take a seat. You found yourself lowering and lowering, the space feeling hotter than the night outside, the sweet smell of flowers surrounding you and you found yourself seated on something plush upon the floor. Pillows?

You could feel Alois body behind you as he knelt down, leaning over you and slowly removing the makeshift blindfold while observing your face.

He had taken you into the greenhouse, all of the lanterns lit to cast a warm and romantic glow around the place, paired up with the extravagant candelabras that were characteristic of the manor. Various pillows, rugs and blankets were laid out across the floor beneath all your favourite snacks, dishes and desserts on multiple plates.

"You've been so stressed as of late, sunlight." His lips pressed so softly to your neck in an act that was so much deeper than affection: it was trust and protection and a promise. "I thought that you deserved something nice." He settled to sit down behind you, coaxing you to lean back against his body as he wrapped his arms around you.

You turned your head to look at him over his shoulder, reaching up to place a hand on the back of his neck in order to coax him down into a kiss.

"Thank you, Alois, truly, I needed this." He smiled softly at knowing he could ease some of your stress before reaching forward to offer a plate to you.

ok so im not very far into trigun (which. you convinced me to read/watch) but ive seen you talk about vash as a christ/messiah figure which. means im kinda obsessed with how you described his impact on the world in no name on the bullet (christ healing the lame, christ feeding the thousand... christ delivering his people from evil.) did you have any specific biblical references you kept in mind while writing?

i also think its super interesting how the fic seems to focus more heavily on healing as opposed to how (what ive seen of) trigun is a lot more gunman focused - is part of that influenced by how knives is a pacifist in a "cold turkey" way, or a choice on your part? i think it makes an interesting dichotomy, christ the gunman and satan the physician

I've gone my entire life without recommending Trigun to anybody, because I always felt it was too weird and ultra-violent and love-it-or-hate-it to actually ask people to watch it. Look at me now. Getting at least 3+ people into it. Boo boo the fool. Also I'm sorry that this response is so long skull emoji.

I'm ex-Catholic so you have asked the right question lol. Vash is very inspired by the Old Testament God. I have a strong mental image of him obsessing over the Noah's Arc story in his cute children's Bible. Sodom and Gomorrah is brought up again much later, in an extremely important way. Garden of Eden and Paradise, as the show does. The Plagues where every firstborn son dies. These is all imagery that Vash specifically evokes on purpose. Vash...uses the Bible to understand his own experiences and feelings and desires (that's the most neutral way to phrase it), but like a lot of people he uses the Bible/God partly as justification for his actions. God destroys cities for being sinful, and Vash is the closest thing to God this planet has, so he's entitled lol. God Complex McGee up in here.

And Vash's cult has no Jesus, because there is no forgiveness for humanity, and no way for them to be saved. Which is how you know that Vash's Jesus-ey actions as described in the story are very deceitful on a lot of different levels. Kind of like regular Vash lmfao - as I said earlier, he's VERY much also a messiah deconstruction. Vash is a pacifist partly because he needs it - he needs to be believed that people can be saved, that the world can be good, that nobody has to die, because otherwise the world is nothing but an endless parade of misery and death and his own suffering. It's about saving his own soul, and the memory of Rem.

For me, on a writing level: Cain and Abel, obviously. 'My brother's keeper'-ass mofo lmfao. It's more themes for me, though - redemption, salvation, forgiveness, original sin, sin in general, guilt, fate. Knives is pretty obsessed with all of these topics. I make fun of him for it. None of it's healthy. But Knives embodies a few other Christian ideals that I don't make fun of him for, such as the importance of good works and good actions, and dedicating his life towards helping others without the desire for a reward. There's also some subtle 'shepherd and his sheep' stuff going on later.

Re: the gunfights: can you IMAGINE Knives carrying a gun. He is WAY too proud of his own #biologicalsuperiority and #ultimatelifeform and #impenetrabledefense (literally Shadow AND Gaara-ass mofo) to rely on cheap human trinkets like guns lol.

The plot has more action than my usual (yay! - that was what I was working for lol), but it's based off the skeleton of the Stampede plot, which is genuinely a lot more space opera than Western and as such its action looks different. Turns out that when you remove the Gung Ho Guns from a story, there are a LOT LESS gunfights, lmfao (I don't know what kind of errands Vash sends the GHG out on, I am afraid to find out). So partly there's less gunfights because a) Stamp plots don't require too many gunfights, and b) without a Gunman (TM) there's no reason for the group to use guns to solve their problems if at all possible.

It's also just that, basically, Vash's plots are partly man vs self and partly man vs other. When a character is level 99, the tension of the fight scene isn't if they'll win the fight - it's if they'll win the fight under their self-imposed conditions. In Vash's case, the Q in every gunfight is 'can Vash win the fight and save people without compromising his principles?'. For Knives, he is so ridiculously OP that it's impossible to write a fight scene with genuine tension, and he doesn't care nearly as deeply about casualties. So the most engaging plotlines for Knives are entirely man vs self, which tends to shake out into a lot of trolley problems lol. That's the answer to your Q from a writing perspective.

So it's mostly a choice for plot/writing reasons. But YUP the dichotomy is SUPER JUICY, and the fun part of the story is reading the Ultimate Killing Machine be forced to do literally anything else than Ultimate Kill - to do the only thing he wasn't meant to do. Because doing what he was meant to do reduces him to a biblical figure instead of a person - it makes him just a devil, who's never exercised the free will God gave him, and as such can't be called sentient. It's not what Rem would want. And it's a very juicy juxtaposition to somebody who interprets his own meaning in life as a Christ figure as a divine compulsion to brutally murder orphan.

it was only this year that it occurred to me to start keeping lists of our favourite things because our memory is like swiss fucking cheese (as previously discussed lol) so this is gonna be a bit haphazard and I'm definitely gonna wake up at 02:00 in a cold sweat like "FUCK I FORGOT [x]" but. 🎵 these are the breeeeaks! 🎵 anyway.

i. DARK SIDE OF THE MOON | pink floyd hated PF as a kid listening to rock radio, their dreamy sound bored the fuck out of me, but now that I'm a stoner PF makes way more sense that's not relevant to DSotM though, I just love this album because it's about madness and entropy and death and also has the best middle track and outro track ever invented standout track: Eclipse

ii. BETWEEN THE HEART AND THE SYNAPSE | the receiving end of sirens post-hardcore concept album with copious use of harmonies and haunting lyrics. this band was a flash in the pan that left scorch marks on my entire existence standout track: Epilogue

iii. THIS GODLESS ENDEAVOR | nevermore my introduction to Nevermore that still remains my favourite work by them. what a fucking band. Warrel Dane's vocals are insane. it's just good idk what to say standout track: Sentient 6

iv. MABOOL: THE STORY OF THE THREE SONS OF SEVEN | orphaned land here we start getting into albums I don't listen to from beginning to end often bc there are individual songs that I don't really care for BUT it's such a cohesive and beautiful story when you do listen to it from beginning to end that I still do it sometimes anyway. this is a concept album about Noah and the Ark by an Israeli metal band. like. come on. what more do you WANT from LIFE standout track: The Storm Still Rages Inside

v. REQUIEM FOR A DREAM OST | Clint Mansell + Kronos Quartet I am rabid for both Mansell and the Kronos Quartet. I would die for them. honourable mention to The Fountain OST here which not only is my favourite movie but it has the one song in existence that makes me say "if I were a song I would be this song" standout track: listen idk it's just two leitmotifs the entire time, a lot of them are the same tune with different spices added

vi. STRANGER FRUIT | zeal & ardor who are my favourite band so it's kinda funny it took me this long to bring them up but YKNOW "satanic negro spirituals and btw, make it metal" is a genre that is 100% tailored to me personally (their later albums are less Specific vibes-wise which is a shame but yknow what... the shit still slaps so I'm not too mad) standout track: You Ain't Coming Back

literally why didnt i notice until now over how many similarities the slenderverse series (mh, emh, tt, and the like) have over homestuck like :

-both are a multi-media experience with cryptic puzzles and mysteries that took some thinking and fandom collaboration to fully understand. marble hornets spesifically, was so influential that almost every slenderman mythos is based on their own take of it. literally the blueprint that changed a subgenre of unfiction series forever.

-oftentimes blurs the barriers between canon and reality/fanon. especially with everymanhybrid's HABIT trials

-dealt with themes of being doomed from the start, predestination, and dealing with forces beyond your understand in good and bad ways

-has a time loop plot but the humans are mostly very fucking powerless and if they want to gain a bit of power they must shed their humanity (tribetwelve)

-either ends in a tragedy that makes you cry like a bitch because you held out hope for everyone even though you know theyre all fucking doomed or it has no proper ending at all (im still sad over keratin garden oof)

-some bullshit about sessions are occasionally involved (emh and tt)

-character gets possessed by a demon, is purple-coded, kills almost everyone in the cast, and do passive agressive hatecrimes (tribetwelve 'he KNOWS im jewish he's mocking me' scene)

-speaking of tribetwelve, noah kinda reminds me of karkat with his inability to stop saying cocksucker every five seconds

-insufferably dorky film nerds

-somehow makes everyone who watch it gay or transgender

-faceless piece of shit in a suit manipulates people to kill and maim their loved ones

-the fandom thinks theyre hot even though the cast are the most ordinary people you'll ever meet in a gas station

-bonus : embezzlement drama insane shit happens in the fandom. like, i know exactly two murders where the perpetrator was a child obsessed with slenderman.

HIGHKEY missing all of my old oc’s that are currently taking space in the back of my mind and I keep thinking about them in their fictional little universes. I wanna ramble for a bit so below the cut are where I imagine them ending up at the end of their lives. 

Ophelia Richards (hellstate--rp/hellhqs) - the apple of my eye and the love of my life ( my favorite child let me honest ), i wonder about her the most in her fictional little bubble. she was the most changed and better off them all so like i wonder how she would be fairing in the zombie outbreak of cheyanne. would the zombie’s have died off by now and would she have set up a house with a puppers ( maybe with a certain somebody??? ) or would the zombies be still around and would still be the redheaded rolling stone. i think the zombies would be dying off and she would have a little cabin, a small shop too where she would sell blankets and canned goods; also like two doggo’s that she would maim someone if they touched. maybe a noah ashbury in her life idk about that though- but like she would just be okay. maybe she found her little sister again and they live together. just OPHELIA HAPPY- ( i also hardcore crackship her with my other kiddo juliet kemp don’t fucking at me okay they make sense...kinda ) 

Juliet Kemp (hellstate--rp/hellhqs) - my broken bird ohhh my heart legit aches every time i think about her- like holy mother of GOD i ruined that character didn’t i??? she was such a fucking shit show of a human, like rick grimes level’s of bullshit happened to her. she’s from the same universe as ophelia so going off of the “zombies are dying off” ( i don’t like to think that zombies are supernatural creatures and hellhq lore was pretty clear it was some type of plague so...bodies...rot after awhile and yeah i could babble on about zombies rotting but imma stop because i know some of you guys are normal folks who don’t like to hear about that stuff. ) i imagine her as semi-okay, not AS happy or well adjusted as O but alive and sometimes..maybe even smiling. i can see her living in a big house with room for any kids she finds because that’s her weakness, she loves all the little kiddos and just wants them to be okay. honestly juliet is now your adoptive mom if you don’t have one at the end of the world. she would build gardens for food and paints the whole house to be happy for the kids. just peace is all i want for her and her head. but like lemme be honest she’s your wine mom because what she’s gone through ohhhh boi yeah she’s PTSD for life. ( but like also hi yes my crackship make sense here because them ophelia and her can like have all the outbreak orphan’s together and love each other???? no...yes??? )

 Gabrielle Jackson (hellstate--rp/hellhqs) - ANGEL BABYYYY!!!! she wasn’t my favorite to play because she was so nice??? like i cannot be that nice all the darn time to people (also christianity turns out its a goddamn trigger for me.) but like after I had her get stabbed and lose all faith??? yeah she got easier to play for me, plus anytime I had her with her joker it was funny because oh boi she’s angry 100% of the time. but like in her future honestly she wouldn’t have one, gabby is super one of the muses I can see not making it in the new worlds. she’s clung to tightly to the ideals of a forgotten world so honestly I can see her kinda just dying? like I’m sorry not sorry- she’s so the type to get her ass stabbed trying to help someone. that or might end up on some type of mushroom hippie 60′s aesthetic to cope with her life just going to shit, smoking pot on a cute little farm far away from town and selling handmade blankets because that’s nice right? ALL I KNOW HER AND GOD NO LONGER SPEAK. 

Penny Scott ( hellvt ) - speaking of not talking to god meet my angel child penny! ironically an actual angel, like sent from god wings and all, but hates the motherfucker with all of her being for kinda being a deadbeat father i guess. she’s what you would call a “useless lesbian” and honestly that trait I feel like she would honestly get better with as she spends more time on earth. I can see her ending up with a cute girl in a nice little cottage somewhere, but honestly she might pull a stupid and die protecting someone she loves? idk she has tragic written all over her because she sees the best in the world but the world is a shithole. 

Nathlia Scott ( butterflieshq ) - MY ROLEPLAY AND MY KIDDO! i had to close it because health reasons so we never got to hear nathlia’s full backstory i had planned out and honestly i’m going to leave it up to ??? incase i get healthier and am able open butterflies back up one day but a possible future for the kiddo? she’s a missing person who is persumed dead her future is the up there with my bleak kids ( it goes kenzi, nathlia, and ginger ). but she either ends up dead, alive but in a mental hospital for a good couple years, or [ ERROR TEXT NOT FOUND ]....i thought i fixed that glitch oh well. 

Kenzi Carlson ( ??? ) - my sweet sweet punk child who I loved with all of my heart and still cry over to this day, she was an early-ish muse of mine i believe from a scream inspired roleplay. she doesn’t have a future i can tell you that right now because she was canon fodder durning the roleplay when the admin asked if there was anyone who was willing to let their characters die and I was like sure! ( I now know I will never do that again I fucking hate character death scenes ). she ended up being killed in the same way her mother died and I was like ohhhh boy my sweet baby not even eighteen. so she’s stuck with me for some reason, i call her my ghost. 

Ginger Adams ( ??? ) - My Ginger Fitzgerald inspired muse for an unknown horrror roleplay that i was apart of that never really got off the ground but it was nice while it lasted,  she’s honestly my mess of a kiddo who i love so much but honestly once again i do not make happy people so on this girl is honestly a wreck. unlike ginger fitz from the movie, this ginger acidentally killed her sister in a fight and is on the run after her mother told her she would clean it all up ( which oof to that mom ). i don’t see her having a happy life after that- like honestly nothing good happening for her due to a. the ptsd of killing her sister/becoming a werewolf and b. the fact she is a werewolf. so honestly lets just mark her down as fucked up and move on.

In no particular order.

Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)

It took a few listens to get into this one, but I really enjoy it. I was excited that Taylor would be working with Post, and I think he adds an added depth to the song. I've compared it to Dial Drunk, which he did with Noah Kahan, because I think he adds the same effect and texture to both songs.

But Daddy I Love Him

I love this song. It's such a good song to sing along to, or dance to, or run to, or- you get it. The chorus is great, the transition through the song is great, everything is just perfect.

Florida!!! (feat. Florence + The Machine)

I gotta tell you, Taylor outdid herself with the collabs on this one. Post Malone and Florence + The Machine??? Again, a really nice depth and layer is added. Something about this song wakes you up, which I love.

Guilty As Sin?

Okay, this one- I love it. I loved it a little less when I found out the, um, subject was you-know-who. But, if you ignore that, this is great. What did it for me was the "What if he's written 'mine' on my upper thigh", 'cause wasn't that everyone's fantasy at one point?

Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?

It has "mad woman" vibes, and I'm loving it. Such a running song too. I was down in the basement, running my little heart out on the treadmill, imagining a whole scene. It was great.

The Alchemy

It's something about this one that I love. Maybe the football references, maybe the sound of it, maybe the images it creates. It's such a fun song, and I love the "He jokes that it's heroin but this time with an 'E'".

The Albatross

This is my favorite on the album. I didn't think I'd be able to choose a favorite, but here we are. I'm a willow girlie, so this one was just, an instant connection. The lyrics- the sound- everything.

I Hate It Here

Almost every word she said in this one- I could relate to it. Hello? "Secret gardens in my mind"- those of you who know-

I Look in People's Windows

I loved the theme of this song. You know, seeing that person, and then you look for them everywhere, and you get kinda obsessed, and- I'll stop before I expose myself. Anyway, this one was cute and upbeat, overall a great song.

Peter

The gasp I gasped when it went "You said you were gonna grow up, then you were gonna come find me". Peter Pan and Wendy anyone??? I love this song, and I was indeed singing it the rest of the day.

*Sighs*. This one made me tear up. I'll admit it. It may just have been because it was the last song, but something about this did it for me. The single notes in the background- *sighs again*. It's just such a pretty song about moving on and reflection.

Call me basic all you want but Law and Order SVU is still good after 24 seasons. Like in comparison to NCIS and Grey's Anatomy it's not even a competition. Not only do the characters develop in more interesting ways on Law and Order SVU but the two newest characters in the cast are interesting, well developed members of the team. (Unlike Bishop and half of the new residents. 😒) Even Noah is more relevant to Law and Order SVU than any of Meredith's kids.

Olivia is still shining bright and arguably in the prime of her career while Meredith kinda drifts in and out of relevancy in her own show. Meanwhile Gibbs, who was the only reason I could get through parts of that episode where someone was killed by a fucking garden gnome, is gone now. Even Tutuola stands above major remaining characters like McGee or Owen Hunt because he has a better presence and more consistent writing than either of them.

Hell, Law and Order SVU even does a better job at getting its audience to empathize with the victims shown than NCIS or Grey's Anatomy. Even when those victims are dead like Ada the writers still utilize her parents to humanize her while simultaneously giving her dad a natural arc where his transphobia is addressed and overcome. The victims matter more than that poor fucker on NCIS who literally got gnomed. And the victims certainly matter more than the patients of Grey's who are primarily used for or set aside to fuel the interpersonal doctor drama. Law and Order SVU is more respectful killing off normal victims and guest characters like Captain Duarte now than Grey's Anatomy was when they killed off DeLuca.

Go watch Law and Order SVU. It still holds up well while Grey's Anatomy peaked in season 6 and NCIS peaked in the last episodes of season 7.

oc development thoughts (yuki, archie, larry & terry ft. jerry)

yuki,

- his hair is naturally green. nobody really knows why except that his father and little brother, ryota, seem to have it as well.

- autism :o3

- he's almost always smiling. that's basically his resting face. though, when he's mad he kinda looks like a hamster.

- immediately assumes the best of people and is astonishingly quick to forgive. he had his fair share of bullies in school but they never lasted for long, he'd always scare them off by hugging them

- billie, his best friend, was a very similar case, except his kindness caused her to stick around.

- slight inability to take things seriously. this can kinda make him come across as a little insensitive, but it's clear he doesn't mean it. he can be very empathetic and caring when he does recognize a situation as serious

- does whatever he can to help the environment, like opting to ride his bike over taking the bus. he always stops to pet any stray cats

- he actually got bit by a cat with rabies once and was surprisingly chill about it. he asked the doctors to be nice to the cat for him

- his special interest is cats btw. also animals in general, but mainly cats.

- he doesn't have a job quite yet, but he does do volunteer work. i'm not entirely sure if he would have a job? maybe as a gardener or pet sitter or something like that, i dont know, but i think customer service would tire the poor guy out way too much.

archie,

- very quiet. partially because socializing is a pain and partially because he doesn't want to stutter and embarrass himself

- social anxiety, autism & tourettes. he's very neutral about these and how they've affected his life. he'd just shrug if you asked.

- somehow manages to keep a straight face regardless of the situation. when asked, he admits that he doesn't really know how to make facial expressions and doesn't try.

- he's a real dork if you can get past his stoic exterior. he loves comic books, has been obsessed with them ever since he was a kid. he'll tell you marvel and DC facts until you physically cannot listen anymore.

- he also likes (mainly retro) video games to a lesser degree. spends a lot of his time at the arcade, either to play games or just to chill.

- his favorite drink is those gas station slurpees. he doesn't know the flavors of them so he just asks for "blue". he has the amazing ability to drink as fast as he wants without getting brain freeze (debatable. if he did get brain freeze then he probably wouldn't show it)

- he's smart but a bit of an airhead at the same time. has a habit of getting lost in his thoughts

- works at a comic book shop with his co-worker noah. noah is a spiteful little bitch and tries to argue over comics with archie, but archie could not be fucked to participate, so it always ends up one-sided with noah mostly ranting to himself. he still considers him a friend though. they hang out and play videogames sometimes

- has a variety of cool hats and button ups he'll wear. his favorite is his propeller cap.

- former pizza delivery man

terry & larry,

- jerry's two younger brothers. terry is the weird one, larry is the serious one. all three of them chip in to manage jerry's mechanic shop (they wanted to be in the name but jerry insisted on naming it jerry & co. instead)

- terry is very short and mostly serves as the janitor, but also does any paint jobs. arguably as stupid as jerry and yet somehow more aggressive. will attack either larry or jerry with little to no provocation and both of them are completely fine with him doing that

- larry does the business and money part of the job. he'll also do any welding if needed. he's kind of the nerd even if he's the rudest and the strongest physically. has the swagger of someone way smarter than he actually is

HIIIIIIII okie this is going to probab;y be a very jumbled adnd maybe confusing and long post bc AA but i will try to make it understandable and write it before my ride gets here and picks me UP OKIE (edit i have been adding onto this post on my shift since like 1 am my time so i apologize if its confusing my work laptop is weird ANYWAYS)

I only have one s/i aside from just straight?? up me?? (or a backstory if that makes sense) and thats neph or, the cat/shark guy (Funfact!!! neph came from a convo with toonie, ill explain a bit below but he is cursed to not have a name and since hes a Nephilim toonie decided to start calling him neph, as like a shorter version of it! (thanks toon ! :3 💛)

to begin obviously he is a Nephilim, i hc six also is one since i remembered my mom telling me something about the Nephilim teaching humanity about technology i dont know where it is said about that but thats where that hc comes from!! they are both (neph and six) are kind of a 'different' kind of Nephilim as in they are only related with technology and were apart of the ones that showed humanity technology, so example both him and six both have the ability to go through the television and when it is invented computers/phones etc, that just kinda explains the general basis of how he works the cat tail/shark stuff is cause im cringe and think that combo looks cool and that he can shapeshift (As i imagine most nephilims can?) and since he mostly exist on a digital plane no one is going to question if they see some weird combination of animal on some animated program if he were to appear in it even though he looks like that physically also. due to the fact that he is a Nephilim, he obviously isnt liked by most beings from the heavens since he is a product of a human and a fallen angel and was cursed by the big g himself to not have a name nor be seen physically by humanity, which can get pretty lonely and make someone weird, he has a long history of being chased out by various angels that catch him lurking by (he likes to hang out around the garden of eden, thats where him and toonie met) ALSO if we are gonna get specific michael DOESNT like him and has definitely nearly killed him like twice. hes welcome in hell tho :))) neph doesnt hold any hard feelings twards angels for not being fond of him considering what he is, but not all of them are like that. obviously, toon being one of them (or i guess archangel gabriel if we are being literal but i dont want to confuse alt g and him so i will say toon)

when they both first met toon was definitely a little anxious at first considering hes heard of Nephilims/his peers going after them/ and the flood in general (by the way, i dont remember what ep it is but i hc when alt g tells noah something will be joining him on the boat it neph was apart of that (specifically six and neph, and some type of alternate, since the flood also wiped out Nephilims he had to keep some alive to help him) anyways back to what i was saying sjhfdfh they ended up becoming close and when toon isnt off doing angel or messenger duties hes usually with neph in the garden of eden (same goes with if neph isnt doing something for alt g or something along those lines) after the events of overthrone (if we go by the toonb/riel sand tomb theory i know some people think that was jesus or atleast my roomate hcs this so ) neph wasnt told about what had happened to him and was confused why he was no longer able to find him, noticing that there was definitely something very wrong with the heavens (due to alt gs actions yk) he ends up eventually figuring out what had happened and in a weird time/universe fucky way is able to get toonb/riel out, since its no longer safe at all for toon to exist (and also alt gab doesnt know that he has escaped) he basically is forced to exist within the realm of media in a strange way (BEGINNER BIBLEEEE HEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEEHEHE) though this isnt 100% set in stone and it changes but i like to think it would be cool if he is able to exist within the realms of technology as some digital angel OKIE i am SO SO SO SORRY FOR SUCH A LONG POST i got so giddy and excited at seeing this ask and have been trying my best to figure out how to answere it THANK YOU SO MUCHF OR ASKING ME!!!!!!
