The Bad Batch Finale
HAPPY ENDING!!! Despite Crosshair’s seeming insistence on being a sacrifice, he’s ALIVE!!
I’m still depressed Tech wasn’t alive. (I can still headcanon my way around anything but I digress.)
The ending scene was HEARTBREAKING. She’s all grown up!! She’s joining the rebellion! They’re all old-ass men watching their little girl go of to fight!!
It was an amazing finale, and I’m so glad that, Tech and emotional flash forward aside, we got a happy ending!!!

Thoughts on the Batch's Ending
Ooookay. This is going to be a long one. (Little note from Steph who just finished writing this: it’s nearly 3000 words…)
Tagging @saturn-sends-hugs @inkstainedhandswithrings and @eriexplosion because I value their thoughts (but I'm also not demanding that you read 3000 words of waffle)
I’ve had a lot of thoughts about the finale of The Bad Batch and honestly, my mind is a bit of a mess right now. One of the things I just want to try and tackle is how I feel about the ending of each Batch member individually, because while I can look at it and say “The Batch got a happy ending!”, I feel like that doesn’t really give me much of an idea of whether or not each character got an ending that I feel is fitting for their story arc.
So, this post is basically just going to be me unpicking the ending for each of the Batchers and working out how I feel about it (aka me trying to unscramble the mass load of thoughts going on in my head right now).
Omega
Overall, I’m very happy with where Omega ended up. When you look back on how she was when we first met her, you realise just how much she has grown over the last few seasons. She didn’t just learn to be a part of the squad, she also learned how to look after herself. It isn’t just a development of her skillset, it’s also a growth in maturity, which allows her to have a clearer head and more rational decisions in the field. While Omega trusted her brothers to come and rescue her, she didn’t just sit around and wait for them, she hatched her own plan to not only get her and the other children out, but also help the Batch when they arrive at Tantiss.
Like Echo, she strongly believes in helping people and I love that that has carried through into her ending. While it would have been nice for her to live a quiet life, free of any more troubles, it makes complete sense for her to want to join the Rebellion. And I think it was at a good time as well. Omega got to spend the rest of her childhood being raised in a more peaceful, safe environment, before making the decision a few years down the line to go her own way. This is her leaving the nest and I think it was tackled incredibly well. You can see how she has taken on attributes from all of her brothers, and judging by her style choice, Phee as well. We see Omega using the support of her brothers to carve her own path and I love that.
Personally, I can’t really see a more fitting development in her story than this. And I’m reluctant to actually call it an ending because for her, this feels more like the beginning of a new chapter. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we saw her again later down the road.
Hunter
Now those who follow me may be aware that Hunter was never my favourite member of the Batch. I didn’t dislike him, but I never really connected with him in the same way that I connected with all of the other characters. Saying that, it doesn’t mean I haven’t given a lot of thought to him and his character.
Hunter always had a lot on his shoulders. He was the leader of the Batch and that meant keeping a rag-tag group of defective clones in line, but it also left him with the belief that if anything were to happen to his squad, it would be his responsibility. So, with Crosshair and Omega stuck with the Empire, and Tech dead, Hunter had a lot to carry. At the beginning of Season 3 we saw that he had become more reckless and irrational, not really thinking about plans and wanting to jump straight into things. It was Wrecker who had to step in and make sure Hunter didn’t do anything stupid. Hunter felt like he lost control and that took a lot out of him, especially since this is something I think he could feel creeping up on him throughout Season 2, even if he tried to fight it. The Batch had started to make decisions without him, and Omega was forming close attachments to other people, which was digging a knife into Hunter’s fear of losing his squad. So S3 saw him trying everything he could to reunite the Batch, because he couldn’t bear to lose anyone else.
And he achieved that. But what I also deeply appreciate is that we see Hunter accepting that Omega wants to go her own way. This was something he didn’t want happening for a long time, but once he accepted that she was capable of looking after herself, and once he accepted that he could never keep her tied in place forever, he supported Omega in her decision to join the Rebellion. Yes, he will always worry about her. He even tells her that she will always be their kid. But he knows that it’s time for her to carve her own path, and that means for him, finally letting go and accepting that Clone Force 99 will never be what it once was.
Wrecker
Wrecker is an interesting one for me because he’s one of the few characters where I can’t really see a big step for his character in the final episode. For many of the others there is some form of acceptance, or big step in their lives, but for Wrecker I don’t really see that. And unfortunately, I think that comes from Wrecker never really being the focus of any strong character development throughout the history of the show. That’s not to say there wasn’t any growth at all, but when we look at how far everyone else has come in their stories, Wrecker always feels like he never got the same treatment in this show. The biggest growth I saw was when he stepped in to help Hunter when he could see the sergeant was spiralling.
So, while I’m happy he lived and has gone on to enjoy a longer, more peaceful life than we ever expected for the Batch, it makes me sad that we never really saw anything big for Wrecker in this ending. No big acceptance, no huge sacrifice. We don’t even get to see him say goodbye to Omega when she leaves. I love that Wrecker got a happy ending, but I always wish that we had gotten the opportunity to see more of a character arc with him over the course of the entire show.
Crosshair
I accepted a while ago that if any of the Batch members were to survive, Crosshair would be one of them because I didn’t expect the writers to kill him off after everything that he had been through. And thankfully they didn’t! I love that after everything, Crosshair has managed to find peace. Maybe not completely, but enough that he has the chance to live a life that doesn’t involve him being a soldier.
Throughout S2 and S3 we saw Crosshair come to terms with the fact that he was disposable to the Empire and that they didn’t care about him as much as he had made himself believe. And one of the things Crosshair fought with the most was his own identity as a soldier. For so long, he believed that that was all he was, all he could be, so that’s why it has been so amazing finally seeing Crosshair acknowledge that he doesn’t need to be a soldier to still live a life he deserves; his purpose is and always has been more than that.
Saying that, I want to address the hand thing because I am still unsure of where I sit with it. Following his escape from Tantiss, we see Crosshair has developed hand tremors as a result of his PTSD, and a decent chunk of the season has been dedicated to him learning how to live with them. The biggest reason for this affecting Crosshair so much was that it impacted his ability to be a sniper, which is what Crosshair believed to be his main purpose: he didn’t know what to do without the ability to use his hand. And we were given some incredibly sweet scenes between him and Omega as she helped him work out the best way to manage the tremors, for example, them meditating together.
But then that brings me onto my main issue, which is, why remove the hand? One of the reasons I keep seeing is that it removes Crosshair’s ability to be a sniper, but we had already seen that. That’s the issue that the tremors were causing. Crosshair had already been struggling with that ability as a result of what happened to him on Tantiss, so cutting his hand off as a way of preventing his sniping ability seems a bit unnecessary. Now admittedly, the soldier who cut his hand off didn’t know that he had hand tremors, so logistically it makes sense, but as a story tool it seems a bit bizarre to me. Personally, I think it would’ve been more interesting to pursue the idea of Crosshair learning to manage his tremors through meditation etc. and adapting to a life that has less of a focus on sniping.
Another reason I have seen for the hand is that it symbolises Crosshair finally becoming free from the Empire and what they did to him on Tantiss. Him no longer having the tremors indicates that he is no longer burdened by the Empire and his time there. But that doesn’t really work for me either. For one, Crosshair will never truly be separated from what happened to him there; even if he lost the shaking, he would still have a number of psychological issues as a result of what he went though, so I can’t see it as a way of symbolising a true separation. Which is once again why I think that following the story beat of him managing the tremors would have been a more interesting path for them to go down with his character.
Saying that, I’m still happy with where Crosshair’s story went. He is arguably the most complex character in the Batch and I’m so glad we have been able to see him develop the way he has. Him living a long, quiet life is something that I’m happy he has gotten, and I truly don’t think that him dying would have brought nearly as satisfying a conclusion as Crosshair finally finding a new place in the world.
Tech
Oh boy… this is going to be an interesting chunk of this essay. So errm… it turns out Tech is actually dead, which is… kinda shit.
Back when we saw him fall at the end of S2, I said that one of the reasons that I didn’t believe that Tech was really dead was because if he was, I would’ve found the writing kinda cheap. I said repeatedly throughout that season that I didn’t want all of his character development to simply be an emotional manipulation tactic to make us even more sad when he died… which is what it turned out to be. It doesn’t surprise me that Tech sacrificed himself, but it makes me mad that ultimately his death never really had any real impact on anything. I mean, they hardly even addressed it in the final season!
I get that animated Star Wars is known for rarely addressing characters after their deaths, but The Clone Wars focuses on so many characters that if we gave that much attention to every character that died, then we would never progress the plot. However, unlike TCW, The Bad Batch primarily focuses on a smaller group of clones and therefore not only has the space to explore the impacts that death would have on the squad, but really should find it a necessary part of the storytelling. The lack of attention given to Tech throughout this season has been beyond frustrating to me. He deserved better.
And I can’t write a section about Tech’s ending without addressing the CX-2 situation. Were we all delusional for believing that Tech was alive? No. Now before people come at me for saying that, I want to explain why that is the conclusion I have come to. You would have every right to label us delusional if there was absolutely no proof behind the claims that we made, but when the writers give us a character that both speaks and acts like Tech, what did they expect us to think? There were too many parallels between Tech and CX-2 for it to be coincidental and I still stand by the fact that we had reason to believe that they were the same person.
Now, looking at the other CX soldiers we see in the finale, they all seem to parallel the OG members of the Batch: there’s a larger one who primarily focuses on hand-to-hand combat, someone who favours blades, a sniper, and a more tech-savvy one. And I’m sure there is a reason for that, symbolically or practically, but if the fact that they all resemble the Batch is important, then why was so much focus put primarily on CX-2? There was no way we weren’t going to think that they would reveal him to be Tech.
Overall, I’m annoyed. Tech was such a brilliant character and I am so frustrated that not only did he get a death that I felt was kind of cheap, but he didn’t get nearly the respect he should have been given in the final season. Now, I’m not using this as a way to bash the writers, and I definitely don’t think that anyone should use it as an excuse to be bullies, but unfortunately, I can’t be satisfied with the way Tech’s story ended, and I’m not sure I ever will.
Echo
Last but certainly not least, Echo. To say that Echo means a lot to me is an understatement, and I was genuinely terrified that I might have to say goodbye to one of my comfort characters. But thankfully, our boy made it!
Following Season 1, we all wanted for Echo to get some more development. It never felt like he had truly been used to his full potential. And thankfully, Season 2 began to give us that. Yes, we ended up saying goodbye to Echo for half a season, but we saw some incredible growth in his character, and him choosing to join the rebellion made too much sense not to happen. Unfortunately, this also meant that we didn’t get to see Echo for the majority of the final season, but I am beyond grateful that what they gave us in these last few episodes has been some of the best Echo content that we have ever seen. Watching him grow and find where he belongs has been a pleasure to watch, He really is an ARC trooper through and through. Particularly in these last few episodes, seeing how much he has grown to be like Fives, and watching him carry on his brother’s legacy, has been so incredible, No matter what anyone says, I believe that he truly is one of the greatest, and most important characters that we’ve ever gotten out of animated Star Wars.
However, I do have one gripe with Echo’s ending, and it’s the fact that it doesn’t actually feel like a conclusion. If anything, I have more questions about Echo now than I did before the last episode. Echo going to the Rebellion is an absolute given; he still has stuff to help Rex with. But the fact that there is absolutely no mention of him in the epilogue has just made me wonder where he is. Omega mentions Crosshair and Wrecker, and we only see Hunter, so we know that Echo isn’t with them. But we also know that at that point in the story, Echo also isn’t with Rex (assuming we’re in Rebels era). So where is he? What is he doing? Is he actually dead at that point??? I really hope we see more of Echo in the future because if this really is the last time we see his character, it’s too open ended for me to really be satisfied with it.
But if I’m being honest, I really don’t think that this is the last time that we are going to see him. And especially with Omega joining the Rebellion, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw another clone-centric show following these characters in the future.
Concluding Thoughts
All in all, my thoughts are still a bit jumbled. I still don’t know how I truly feel about everything, but hopefully this post at least gives some insight into how I think each character’s endings were handled. Will I change my mind at some point? Probably. But for now, this is where I stand.
At its core, I think the ending we got makes sense for a lot of the characters, and I’m glad that they didn’t all just die at the end. Sure, there are choices that I’m not happy with, but seeing that some of the Batch go on to live long lives is something that I’m very happy to see. It doesn’t happen enough in animated SW, so I’m glad we got to experience it.

Step 1: Tech fucking lives. Step 2: His brothers get some hella emotions about it.
It’s been a few days but the next chapter in my taking-canon-out-for-a-joyride-Tech-Lives fic is finally up 😈
Implications of Being Alive
Chapter 5: A Good Day At The Beach (And The Comm That Kinda Complicated It)
Hunter had almost managed to doze off on Pabu’s south beach. All this time later, letting his guard down still didn’t come easy, but with his feet in the sand, the sun on his face, and his brothers close by, he usually made the effort to relax. Some days he was successful, other times he wasn’t, but today was shaping up to be a good day.
Crosshair had fallen asleep an hour ago. Hunter had been able to tell the exact moment it happened because the little glass he had been sipping slipped from his fingers and landed in the sand with a soft pff, and shortly after, his little brother began to snore. He thought for a moment of taking a holovid of it. Crosshair always denied snoring. But that would have required moving, and Hunter was just so comfortable in the sun.
Wrecker’s booming laugh and Batcher’s excitable barks drifted down the beach from not too far away. Age might have slowed them all down a bit, but it had done nothing to taper Wrecker’s spirit. He and Batcher together were still the most formidable volleyball team on the island, now that Omega had gone off to join the rebellion and Phee all but retired from the game. Hunter wasn’t entirely sure how he managed to train the hound to play in the first place, but she seemed to have a great time jumping and hitting the ball towards Wrecker with her snout any time it flew near her.
Sometimes, Hunter was unable to settle. His thoughts would spiral, his body grew agitated, and he struggled to know what to do with himself out here at all. It would get especially bad when he couldn’t get his mind off of someone in particular.
After all, Omega hadn’t even been gone very long. If she were here, she would be at the net with Wrecker, daring him to play her one on one and stomping his shebs like she damn well should. Echo still visited from time to time, usually while recovering from yet another battle wound when the Rebels insisted he take some time off. If were here, even against his will, he would definitely be taking that holo of Crosshair. But he would also be scooping up his drink out of the sand, making sure they had a fresh one in the cooler for when he woke, and reminding Omega to re-apply her sunscreen, even though she didn’t really need it - he would do anything for his brothers and sisters, even the little things. And… Tech had been gone for a long time, but Hunter had no doubt in his mind what his brother would be up to. Tech would hardly be able to sit still and relax in a place teeming with so many interesting things to observe. He would be walking the shoreline, or maybe out for a swim with a rebreather and his goggles, looking for fascinating creatures or plant life in tidepools and on the ocean floor and everywhere he could find them, in a bid to satisfy his endless curiousity.
Hunter missed them all.
If this were a bad day, he would do one of those activities for them. He would challenge Wrecker at volleyball even if his back would ache for it later, and he would pretend not to notice that Wrecker took it easy on him. He would dote on his brothers, making sure they had towels and snacks and drank enough water and didn’t spend too much time in the sun, even if they grumbled at him for it. He would take a walk and try to appreciate all the unique things this island had to offer, trying to spot something new, even if he’d walked these beaches a thousand times by now. If it wasn’t a good day for him, he would have a good day for one of them.
But today was a good day already, and Hunter knew he could enjoy it his way. He breathed deep, closing his eyes and resting his senses. It was peaceful out here. His brothers were safe and content. The sounds of gently lapping waves against the rocky shore and the feeling of warm light on his skin slowly started to lull him to sleep…
Until the sharp ping of his wrist comm jerked him from it.
“Mmmmmmmhh,” Crosshair groaned at the sound. “What is it now?”
Hunter blinked several times to re-adjust his eyes to the bright glare of the sun overhead and shook his head to orientate himself. “Not sure,” He grumbled, squinting to read the ID. “‘m not expecting any…”
But he knew that ID, and his heart skipped a beat. Suddenly Hunter was wide awake. “Omega!” He cried. “Wrecker get over here! Cross! Wake up!”
“Omega’s calling?” Wrecker shouted back, sprinting towards them in an instant.
“Why?” Crosshair gasped, rubbing frantically at his eyes. “She wasn’t due to check in for another-“
But Hunter wasn’t about to wait or question it. He accepted the comm right away and a little holo of Omega flickered to life on his arm, just as Wrecker skidded to an ungraceful halt behind him and Batcher bowled them both over. Hunter went sprawling in the sand.
“Hunter!” Omega gasped. “Wrecker! Are you okay?”
Hunter spat out a few grains of sand that got stuck to his lips as Wrecker laughed and Batcher bounded all around them with glee.
“Oh he’s fine,” Crosshair sneered overhead. “Just got a little sand in that hair, I’m sure it won’t take more than a tenday to wash out.”
Batcher nearly pounced right on Hunter’s wrist at the image of Omega before Wrecker got ahold of her and he scrambled upright. Omega let out a relieved little giggle at the antics.
“Sorry bout that, kid,” Hunter muttered a little sheepishly, shaking some of the sand from his hair. “How have you been?”
“Still kicking ass, I bet!” Wrecker said enthusiastically.
“Is something wrong?” Crosshair asked worriedly. “Do you need our help?”
“I’m okay,” Omega said. “I just got back from a mission and…”
She swallowed hard, and Hunter frowned. A quick glance at his brothers told him they noticed it, too. Omega had just taken a step and winced, her face was blotchy, and if the injuries weren’t enough, her voice had just hitched.
“What’s going on, ‘Mega?” Wrecker asked, huddling in closer to Hunter and Crosshair in the sand in concern. “Are ya hurt? Do ya need to come home for a little bit?”
“I - No, I mean - yes I got hurt, but I’m okay, I broke a couple bones but Echo already made me get to the bone knitter so it’s just sore now, but…”
“As he should. How’d that happen? I thought you were running relief last we heard,” Hunter said, trying and failing to keep the alarm out of his voice.
“…Relief doesn’t mean risk-free,” Omega countered. “You know that.”
“Well it’s a good thing you know how to handle yourself in a fight,” Wrecker said solemnly.
“But you’re calling us about it,” Crosshair observed. “Something else happened.”
“It’s alright, Omega. You can tell us,” Hunter almost pleaded. The longer this went on the more obvious something really was wrong, and Hunters stomach was clenched in a million knots at the prospect of what that might be.
“I… I know this is going to sound impossible,” Omega said with a nervous sigh. “After all this time. But… The Empire sent an assassin after us. We didn’t lose anyone… yet… one of our pilots is in pretty critical condition.”
All three of them stayed silent at that, nodding or pursing their lips or letting out long concerned sighs, but waiting for her to continue. That wasn’t the news, and they all knew it.
“But the assassin was… I… I recognized him. I thought he was that CX trooper who hunted us and-“
“That trooper is long gone,” Hunter cut in soothingly to reassure her, like he did back when she still had nightmares about her ordeal, silently cursing the trooper who traumatized her that way, conditioning or not. “I made sure of it before we took care of Hemlock and got you off Tantiss. He can’t hurt you, Omega, I promise you that.”
“No,” Omega shot back. “No, Hunter, I - It was him. It was definitely him, he survived, and it’s not what you think.”
Hunter felt like he’d been kicked in the gut. He felt Crosshair go rigid beside him and practically stop breathing, and Wrecker’s hands clenched into fists. If that CX was back, if he had the audacity to come after Omega again-
“I’ll come out of retirement for this one,” Wrecker growled. “Unless you killed him already.”
“I didn’t, he - he wasn’t in his right mind, he didn’t know what he was doing. It wasn’t his fault and-“
“It’s been ten years, Omega,” Hunter said in a tight voice. “That should be enough time to figure out that the Empire is wrong, and if he hurt you-“
“That CX trooper was Tech.”
The world around Hunter went suddenly deathly cold. Even with the sun shining overhead, a dreadful, icy set of realizations curled in his veins.
“Tech?” Wrecker eeked out at his side in disbelief.
“Y-yes… It… It’s him,” Omega confirmed with a shaky nod.
Hunters head was spinning. He couldn’t believe this. The CX trooper, who blew up Rex’s base and killed so many of his men.
Who tried to drown Crosshair.
Who invaded and burned Pabu, tore Omega away from them, and dragged her back to Tantiss to be used for a fucking experiment.
Who Hunter had impaled through the gut at the end of an electrospear-
Hunter was only vaguely aware of a heavy hand settling on his shoulder and the way Crosshair suddenly smelled strongly of fear through the frozen static of the world caving in around him. Tech, his brother, had been right there! He had been within their reach and Hunter killed him, or damn well tried. They’d never been able to check for a body when he fell from the rail car, no one should have survived a fall like that, but if this was true then Tech had, and they left him, and they left him again and again and again until Hunter KILLED HIM and then they LEFT HIM YET AGAIN-
The sudden image of a pair of feet dangling limp just above the floor flooded his mind and he gasped, clasping a hand over his mouth to keep from vomiting.
“Hunter?” Omega’s voice nudged the edge of his mind, but Hunter couldn’t form words, not right now. There was only one thing echoing in his head. Even if Tech had somehow lived, Hunter spent the last ten years thinking he killed that CX trooper, hell, being proud of it! If that had been Tech this whole time - if he had killed his baby brother -
“You couldn’t have known,” Omega was saying. “None of us could.”
But that shouldn’t matter. She had somehow figured it out after ten years. Ten years that they left Tech with the empire, ten years after he sacrificed himself to save them all-
“B-but he… Is he…” Wrecker choked out, his one handed grip increasing on Hunters shoulder, but Hunter didn’t even flinch.
Omega took a shaking, sniffling breath and smiled up at them all. “Yeah. Tech is alive… And he even remembers me,” She said in a voice full of relief, and even smiled up at them. “At least a little.”
“Be careful,” Crosshair rasped, and Hunter realize she was shaking. “You don’t know what he might be like after… What they did.”
“I know,” Omega answered solemnly. “Echo is with him now. We’re taking a lot of precautions. He was hurt in our fight too, and had some issues from before but… We’ll help him, won’t we? He’s our brother.”
That, finally, managed to help Hunter find his words again. “Of course we will,” he said, even though it came out sounding fragile and strained. “Whatever he needs. Anything.”
He felt dizzy saying it, and clamped a had onto Crosshair’s shoulder to steady himself, both their shaking be damned.
Omega nodded, and Hunter saw silvery tears start to stream down her face in the holo. “Good,” She said fervently. “He’s going to need all of us, I think. We can’t change what already happened but… But we can do better now.”
“C-Course we can,” Wrecker stammered. “But just thinking, he’s alive… He’s really alive… An’ we get to see ‘im?”
“Yeah,” Omega assured them. “He was in bad shape but… He’s doing better now. As soon as he’s cleared, I’m bringing him home.”
Hunter nodded, too choked up to speak again as his own eyes and guts burned. But Omega was right. She had grown up and grown wise. Most days he wondered who learned more from who, if he was honest, but he took her assurances and tucked them carefully away in his heart.
He believed Omega, even if his heart was having trouble catching up with her words. Tech was alive… And after all this time, his brother was desperately going to need them.

Okay yall Bad Batch finale aires in just under 12 hours and I have some finale theories to talk about! Hopefully I'll be able to post at least some rough art after the finale where I talk about the show some more but for now final theories!
I think CX-2 is Cody, it's too late for it to be Tech and it would be delightfully tragic if Rex or someone (who I think is definitely showing up for the finale) kills CX-2 and unmasks him after the fact or something
I think Hemlock did retrieve Tech's body and I think he's one of the experimental CX units who have not been released yet. But I don't think it worked. I want his sacrifice to mean something, so I want him to stay dead (even if my heart wants otherwise 😭) maybe his body is found, maybe he's never seen again, but I don't think he's coming back
I'm pretty sure Rex and his group of renegade clones will make an appearance, and I hope Phee gets a final moment to be badass as well. Apart from that, I'm hoping for no more extra characters cluttering the episode cause we already have so many loose ends up tie up here
I wouldn't put it past Disney to end the clone rebellion storyline on a cliffhanger tbh but I so badlyyy wish it won't be that way. Let their story end here. It will be sad but you know what that's better than the finale just being a tease for a future show. Let all the Tantiss prisoners break out and branch out to live new lives and die naturally as they deserve.
Now... for the actual Bad Batch itself
I'm certain someone is going to die. No one they're all making it out, not after all the teases and death flags. This isn't going to be like Mando S3 where the characters retire on some field for the rest of their lives (that's just for my fix it headcanons ❤️)
As for who, I've gone back and forth on this but I'm not sure. Every remaining member of the 4 troopers we have here have enough death flags on them and I've read compelling theories for all possibilities, including ones where they get Rogue One'd and everyone dies 😭
So I guess I don't really have a theory for this. I'm certain someone is going to die and I'm honestly scared for who it will be but I don't have a specific person yet. I'm leaning towards Hunter or Crosshair cause their conflict and relationships with Omega make the heart of the show itself, but I wouldn't be surprised if Wrecker or Echo died instead, or any other combination of the team members
Only thing I'm mildly certain about is Omega surviving. Disney Star Wars doesn't like to kill kids much. She's not 100% clear but least likely from my perspective. Plus it would end the show on too sad a note if the character driving the entire plot so far dies 😭 I can see a possibility in which she dies to delay Project Necromancer indefinitely, and it would honestly be sad as hell, but that's just it, it would be way too sad. I don't think the show likes being that dark, especially for its finale. And frankly, Omega's arc deserves to end with her finally getting to stop running and just live her life on her own terms.
Hemlock is definitely getting eaten by the Zillo beast while it destroys Tantiss and Rampart is almost surely making it out and turning a new leaf in my eyes. He's not any less of an asshole but he might just go live somewhere away from the Empire and away from the Bad Batch too.
Emerie is an interesting case cause I can't tell if she'll get the redemption = death thing or she'll make it out too. I honestly have 0 predictions for her. I can see her dying to save the force sensitive kids, but I can also see her making it out.
The force sensitive kids, clone cadets, Batcher, and Phee are probably gonna make it out and you know what good for them. They'll probably be the emotional support for the remaining members of the Batch (if there are any) to move on after this.
I am hoping and praying for no Boba Fett or Ventress or Vader or Palpatine cameo cause this is the last episode of the Bad Batch show and it should ideally focus on. The Bad Batch. The show already has too many loose threads. No more cameos please.
As for whoever survives in the Batch, my ideal wish would just be for them to retire to Pabu under a new identity or something and live out their lives. After Tantiss is destroyed, there would be no clones left in captivity. They can finally rest then. It would be bittersweet to see the end of their adventures as they knew it, but it's at least a peaceful end.
Anyways, that's all for my theories I think! Whether I end up being right or not, I hope the finale is actually good 😭 and I hope whoever dies doesn't make me TOO sad, just that sweet spot of devastated but in a good way 😭😭😭
I'll be reblogging this after I watch the finale with updates on whether my predictions were true or not, probably with a thank you post to the show, so I suppose this is it.
See you all on the other side, TBB nation!

Shatter Me series - Shatter Me summary
Pages: 997 (All series). Certainly! The "Shatter Me" book series is a young adult dystopian novel series written by Tahereh Mafi. The series consists of six books in total, with additional novellas and spin-off novels. Here is an overview of each book in the series:
Shatter Me (2011): The first book in the series introduces us to the main character, Juliette Ferrars, a teenage girl who has been imprisoned for a crime she didn't intend to commit. Juliette has a lethal touch that has caused her to be feared by others, and she has been locked up for almost a year. However, her life changes when she is given a new cellmate, a boy named Adam Kent, who she knew from her childhood. Together, they form a plan to escape their prison and discover a world they never knew existed.
Unravel Me (2013): In the second book of the series, Juliette is now living with the rebel group known as Omega Point, where she is learning to control her powers and become a part of their fight against the corrupt government. Ignite Me (2014): In the final book of the original trilogy, Juliette is now leading the rebellion against the government, and she must make difficult decisions that could cost her everything. Restore Me (2018): The series continues with a fourth book, which picks up right where Ignite Me left off. Meanwhile, a new threat emerges that could destroy everything she has worked for.
Defy Me (2019): In the fifth book of the series, the group faces new challenges as they continue to fight against their enemies. Juliette's past comes back to haunt her, and she must confront the demons that have been haunting her for years.
Imagine Me (2021): The final book in the series sees Juliette facing her toughest challenge yet as she fights for the future of her world. She must make sacrifices and face difficult truths about herself and her powers, all while trying to protect those she loves.
Throughout the series, readers are introduced to a cast of unique and compelling characters, including Kenji, an Omega Point member who becomes Juliette's close friend, and Warner, the son of the corrupt leader of the government who initially seems like an enemy but becomes more complex as the series progresses. The books also explore themes of power, love, trust, and self-discovery in a thrilling and captivating way.
Shatter Me series in order
Series One
Shatter Me is a young adult dystopian novel series written by Tahereh Mafi. The series consists of six books, with the first book published in 2011. Here is a brief review of the first book in the series:
Shatter Me follows the story of Juliette, a young girl with a deadly touch. After spending a year in solitary confinement, she is suddenly released by a mysterious organization known as The Reestablishment. Juliette is initially grateful for her newfound freedom but soon realizes that The Reestablishment has sinister plans for her.
The novel is written in a unique style, with plenty of strike-throughs and crossed-out sentences that add depth and complexity to Juliette's character. The plot is fast-paced, with plenty of action and twists that keep the reader engaged. The world-building is also well-done, with a bleak and oppressive atmosphere that sets the tone for the rest of the series.

(Communication)
Part 26 of Sofia AU
"Xanxus," Timoteo murmurs, calling his youngest back as the rest of the men leave the room. He says nothing when Federico takes note of it and comes back, closing the door behind him after sharing a look with his brother.
Timoteo very carefully doesn't sigh. He waves Coyote away, waiting until his Storm leaves the room as well. "What is going on?"
Federico leans against Xanxus's chair, one hand on his brother's shoulder. Xanxus snorts but doesn't push the touch away, "When were you going to tell me?"
The anger in it is almost easy to ignore when compared to the pain. Tell him what? Timoteo leans back, unsure of what exactly his son thinks Timoteo has done. The girl is still wary of him but no longer scared and she seems to like Timoteo's small gifts. Seeds, pots, cuttings. All of it carefully selected to be only gardening-related. "Tell you what? You know everything that's relevant."
"Is that so?" Xanxus's frown deepens.
"It is," Timoteo leans back, narrowing his eyes. There are things he can't share, no matter how much he loves his sons.
"Ah," Xanxus snorts, standing up. "Then we have nothing to talk about."
Federico lets him go, clicking his tongue. "Truly, father."
"What is this about?"
The door opens again, silencing all of them. The girl enters, noting the tension in the room but choosing to ignore it. She makes a beeline for Xanxus, kissing him under the jaw before shrugging lightly. "Xan?"
"Who tattled?" Xanxus arches a brow, glaring at the door for a moment. "Squalo or Lussuria?"
She raises her eyebrows, crossing her arms. "What's going on?"
"Nothing," Xanxus grabs her by the waist. "We're done here."
"Xanxus," the omega's tone is low but there's a hint of steel there that Timoteo has not heard in her before.
"Sofia," Xanxus doesn't quite growl but he bares his fangs.
In response, she bares her fangs too. "Communication, it's a thing."
Surprisingly, Xanxus sits back down under her stern gaze. He glares at Timoteo, all but daring him to say something, which Timoteo doesn't. Federico's eyebrows are all the way up to his hairline but he says nothing either, even if he does look a little relieved by her presence. Or by the lack of spontaneous conflict, maybe even a little bit of both. Timoteo raises his hands a little, just enough to display his understanding.  "What do we need to talk about?"
That gets him Xanxus clicking his tongue. Before Timoteo can press, Xanxus spreads his arms, elbows on each armrest. In response, the omega settles in his lap, leaning her forehead against his neck. Xanxus curls one arm around her, leaning back in his chair. "Fine, old man. Let's talk."
Timoteo ignores the insulting tone, he's already lived through the teenage years of his three oldest. Xanxus's teenage rebellion years might be later on in his life when compared with his brothers but that's very likely due to the girl in his lap. He had something to worry about, someone who kept his alpha instincts engaged. She doesn't feel as vulnerable now. "I'd like that," Timoteo leans forward. "What should we talk about?"
"Who is my father?" Xanxus's red eyes flash. "And I mean biologically, don't try to spoon-feed me some emotional bullshit."

@starklysteve  rhae asked for some winteriron recs (read: i volunteered to spam rhae w buckytony fics because i adore them), so in no particular order, and based on my memory alone, here are some of my favourite buckytony fics!!
(please remember to leave kudos and comments!!)
American Memorial: @/spqr
“Pick up the shield,” Tony said. Understandably, Bucky told him to go fuck himself
Losing You (Is My Supervillain Origin Story):  @amethystinawrites
There are a lot of things that Bucky regrets. The list is, quite frankly, longer than he can handle on most days and, right at the very top, is lying to Tony about who killed his parents. Bucky has known even from before they started dating, but he simply can't bring himself to say anything — to ruin one of the few good things he has in his life. It's selfish and wrong, but Bucky just doesn't know how to tell Tony that he is the one responsible for Howard and Maria Stark's deaths.
So when he starts receiving anonymous emails, threatening to expose the truth to Tony and the rest of the world, Bucky is desperate enough to agree to the blackmailer's terms, even if it means breaking up with Tony. Bucky cannot, under any circumstances, let Tony find out about his parents from anyone but Bucky himself.
Too late Bucky realizes that there is much more to the blackmailer's scheme than just having Bucky break Tony's heart. Too late Bucky realizes that despite his best intentions, he will still end up losing everything — in a much more permanent way than he could ever have imagined.
Hindsight: @amethystinawrites
Ever since he was a little boy, Bucky has dreamed of becoming an astronaut together with Steve, and he can hardly believe their luck when both of them are picked for the Ares 3 crew — the third expedition sent to explore Mars. It is, quite literally, a dream come true.
Things get complicated when Bucky finds himself inconveniently attracted to their mechanical engineer, however. Tony Stark is funny, competent, and absolutely captivating, but considering NASA's strict non-fraternization policy, Bucky knows it's better to keep his interest to himself — at least until they return to Earth. He can wait.
Not once does Bucky consider the possibility that all of them might not make it back alive, or just how much he'll come to regret not acting when he had the chance.
Arsenal: @tangodancer91 (part of a series) (also my all time favourite buckytony series ever)
Two years after the Civil War that tore apart everything she’d bled to build, Toni Stark sacrificed herself for her newly-reinstated teammates and ended up stranded in the past. Freed of her name, her fortune, and her hostile ex-teammates, she built herself a life as an agent for the OSS, the American secret service, and, having nothing to lose, accepted a mission to infiltrate the newest player in the war: an organization that call themselves HYDRA.
Then, she met a young draftee with a dreadfully familiar face, and they clicked like she had never clicked with anyone before. By the time she realized she’d fallen for the man who’d cost her everything, it was too late, but she’d always been an all or nothing type of girl, and if she was damning herself, well then…might as well go all the way.
Yield: @aurumacadicus (this is an a/b/o verse fic)
All Bucky has ever wanted was to win the contest for Tony's hand in marriage. It's a bit harder now that he's down to one arm, but luckily his friends are willing to help make up the difference.
Barnes Family Motors Inc: @phlintandsteel-ao3 (this is an a/b/o verse fic)
In a world where alphas legally own omegas, Bucky is just a small time mechanic from Brooklyn who gets lucky in a poker game. Tony is an omega whose life is fraught with abuse, until his luck suddenly takes a turn for the better.
In the grand scheme of things they may only be able to make little differences in the lives of those around them, but that doesn't mean it's not worth making them. After all, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
The Long Con (don’t kid yourself): @phlintandsteel-ao3
When Tony finds out that Howard is thinking about changing the terms of Tony’s trust fund, he embarks on a not-so-elaborate scheme to prove that he’s totally settling down and not in continued need of Howard’s “guidance” until 25 instead of 21. Step 1: Get a fiance Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit (Finally be free of Howard)
Unfortunately, Tony Stark is the worst con-artist ever, and may only be kidding himself..
Hot Mess:  @/niki
“Would serve him right if we had the world's most ill-advised one night stand.”
Imperceptions and Assumptions: @/NarutoRox
Afterward, Bucky would look back on their first meeting with fondness and a healthy dose of amusement. At the time, though, he’d mostly been confused - and more than a little embarrassed.
Bucky hadn’t paid much attention to the media in his early days, and hadn’t bothered really reading up on the team or anything, either, so when Steve had said ‘Tony Stark’, Bucky had just assumed.
The same way he’d looked at the three people who’d walked through the door - an imposing redhead in heels, a bored-looking brunette who dimpled when she saw him and Steve, and a sturdy-looking man wearing a slight glower - locked eyes on the man, and assumed him to be the infamous Tony Stark Steve wouldn’t shut up about.
It was Bucky’s first lesson when it came to Natasha Antonia ‘Toni’ Stark - never assume.
~
In which Tony Stark is actually Natasha Antonia 'Toni' Stark (which everyone knows) as well as Iron Man (which everyone does not know), assumptions are made, and there are misunderstandings.
From this prompt: How about a cross between my two favorite tropes? Nobody knows who iron man is other than Natasha/Antonia Stark's bodyguard but Bucky is in love with one or both of them
i know, you know (that i’m not telling the truth) : @imposter-human
psychic tony stark is called to work a routine case with detective bucky barnes; only, he seems to be more connected to the case than anyone thought
or, a psych au!!
the new romeo and juliet: @imposter-human
Bucky and Tony weren’t dating, because a firefighter and a detective couldn’t date (never mind that Tony hadn’t slept with anyone else since their thing had started, and he and Bucky hung out with an alarming frequency, and the whole precinct thought that they were an item). It didn't matter how many nights they spent together, how Bucky had a drawer of Tony's things and vice versa, they just couldn't.
It was a classic Romeo and Juliet situation, if Romeo and Juliet actively disliked each other on top of everything.
if found, please return to: @capnshellhead
Tony Stark shows up at Bucky's bar after a really tough break up and Bucky decides to look after him
gods of carnage:  @deathsweetqueen (part of a series)
On May 29, 1970, the Winter Soldier feels a burning sensation and looks down at his wrist to find a single name written in enduring ink: Antonia Margaret Stark.
HYDRA, fearing the defiance of their greatest asset due to a bond that cannot and will not be denied its due, immediately dispatches the Soldier, to locate, collect and deliver this newborn girl to HYDRA, which will become her new home, her new family and her entire world - to be raised as another one of HYDRA’s great warriors: their Engineer.
But the Engineer is a faulty asset. She thinks things that may get her killed one day. She wants things that she shouldn’t, that are not hers to want. She has a mind and body that belong more to herself than any handler, than any commander she may have.
And if she cuts her strings, when she cuts her strings, well, when you put sheep next to wolves, you ask for a bloodbath.
where i walk, you follow (where i burn, you burn):  @deathsweetqueen
At his father's command, Anthony Stark trades in his northern keep for a southern crown, wedded and bedded by Alexander of House Pierce, First of His Name.
Tony does his duty, becomes a wolf in name only, toothless and clawless, and a dark, gleaming ornament for the King, even if he would make himself a widower a hundred times over.
Honour demanded it of him, and so he did.
But it is Ser James Barnes, named the Kingslayer for his sins during the Rebellion, that draws his eye, gives him comfort in this pit of liars and monsters
So, what is honour compared to a good man's love? They are only human, and the gods have fashioned us for love.
[Fic by deathsweetqueen, Art by MassiveSpaceWren]
Cat Parenting (And Other Meet Cutes):  @singingwithoutwords (this is an a/b/o verse fic)
Of all the ways Bucky could have finally gotten a chance to speak to his crush, why did it have to be his cat getting Tony's cat pregnant?
Codename Heartbreaker:  @rinnwrites (part of a series)
Today was a day that, contrary to popular belief, Tony Stark had most certainly not been looking forward to. It was election day, or election night, rather, and the polls were closed, the results were in; Howard Stark was the next President of the United States of America.
or
Tony Stark Bingo - R3: Election Day
Fate Strings Not Required: @akira-of-the-twilight
“Hey doll,” a new voice said from Tony’s side.
Tony glanced at the person approaching.
Someone was working the rugged, bad boy look. The new guy rocked a leather jacket and blue jeans.
His blue eyes lit up with joy as he approached Tony. “Something wrong here?” The new guy gave the first guy--the one insisting he was Tony's soul mate--a once over then turned his full attention on Tony. “You’re looking a little stressed, anything I can do?”
Tony took the hint.
Tony wrapped his hand around the new guy’s elbow. He kept his touch light and breakable in case he’d misread the cue.
“Just some guy claiming to be my soul mate, babe.”
The new guy’s eyebrows rose to his hairline in surprise. He chuckled and gave the first guy a smirk. “Strange. Last time I checked we were soul mates.”
Siren’s Treasure: @akira-of-the-twilight
Prompt: I really love the idea of playboy!Bucky flirt of the seven seas first-mate to Captain Rogers, falling completely overboard in love with our Blacksmith-Inventor Inexperienced!Tony who goes from confident captive to shy woe-begone man in the presence of Bucky's fierce affections. Virgin!Tony wonders what a siren like Bucky could possibly want with him. Bucky wants to know what the fuck Logan thinks he's doing flirting with the man who stole his heart like sunken treasures. Happy ending please?
“Sirens killed your crew?” Steve repeated.
The dark haired man nodded. Just an hour ago the Avenger crew had found the man clinging to driftwood in the middle of the ocean. Now he clutched the flask of rum Bucky had given him like it was all that kept him buoyant during these tumultuous times.
The man—Tony—had already downed more than half the flask and was still sober. “Not exactly my crew, but close enough. Yeah.” Tony uncapped the flask and threw back a mouthful.
Steve frowned. “What do you mean by that?”
Tony shrugged. “I wasn’t captain of the ship.”
“So what were you?” Steve pressed.
Road hazards: @riotwritesthings
Steve and Bucky's BFF road trip is not going well. For starters, Steve couldn't even make it, and for some bizarre reason asked Tony to take his place. The fact that it’s only a couple days before someone is trying to kill them isn’t nearly as stressful as the fact that Bucky and Tony have never really had an actual conversation.
It’s hard to avoid someone when stuck in a car with them though, and if they manage to stay alive they just might learn a thing or two.
Once Upon a Wintertime: @iam93percentstardust (this is an a/b/o verse fic)
Look, Bucky knows that he’s fulfilling every cliché in the book right now. He knows that, as a bodyguard, he’s not supposed to fall in love with his client. But Tony’s good and sweet and so, so lonely and how could Bucky not? He thinks he’s got a shot after Tony breaks up with his boyfriend but on a trip across the country, he finds out that Tony needs a bondmate or the board will steal SI—and Ty’s already said yes.
little bird: @thxngam
Bucky laughs, and it’s loud and unbidden, a way he hadn’t laughed for years before, tugging his giggling omega into his lap. Tony quiets and nestles into Bucky’s chest like he was made to belong there, and Bucky has noticed several times that Tony is much smaller than he is, but he never quite noticed how Tony always seemed to curl into him as a reason for his size.
Tony nestles like a little bird.
Teenage Dream:  @anthonyed
Tony Stark develops a crush on the school's bad boy who is too cool to hang out with anyone. At least, it's what Tony thinks. He never considered that James Barnes is probably as lonely as he is.
(in the process of editing)
The Best Laid Plans (of Mice and Men):  @arboreal-elm-ash-oak
His Dark Materials AU
It was Annalise who noticed their small visitor first.
“Tony,” the spider daemon said softly, skittering up the collar of his dress shirt, two of her eight legs resting delicately against his cheek, “Don’t startle them, but I believe we have a guest. Look, by the coffee table.”
A Kitten and a Soldier: @/ThatDamnKennedyKid
Bucky hadn't heard from Rumlow in years - since the whole Winter Soldier fiasco in Siberia. They've been discharged for nearly six years, but when he gets a message that only says "I need your help" , he grabs his jacket and keys.
The Prince’s Bride: @hddnone
After Tony loses the love of his life to pirates on the high sea, not much matters to him. He agrees to wed Prince Justin Hammer to gain access to vibranium and shut himself away in his workshop until the end of time, but a group of ruffians kidnap Tony to take him to Hydra.
Tony's rescue takes on an unlikely form - the Dread Pirate Rogers, who killed the love of his life five years ago.
A Princess Bride AU
A Kind of Destiny: @weethreequarter
A chance meeting at a wedding brings together an American war veteran and the Prince of Wales. Little do they know, the wheels have been set in motion for a relationship which will change not only their lives, but the monarchy itself. Bucky and Tony strike up a friendship at Steve and Peggy’s wedding, a friendship that soon develops into more. But it’s not so simple: Tony is the Prince of Wales, and heir to the throne of Great Britain and the United Kingdom. Any relationship is played out in the press and public eye, and then there's that pesky issue of succession to consider too. But Bucky is no coward, and when he finds something he wants, he’s prepared to fight for it. And fight he will, at Tony's side, for their very own fairy tale ending.

ONE
John Winchester is not a king.
And yet he formed a rebellion the likes of which had never been seen before. He brought together enough powerful men who still believed in the old ways. Archaic beliefs that had long since been done away with in the outside world. With that belief came undying loyalty. He overthrew his native Gilead in a matter of months. When the time was right John killed his king, assumed the throne and promptly slaughtered every soul who refused to bow to the new order.
And then he set his sights on the surrounding countries. First he took Lebanon, a small country to the south. His men raped and pillaged, burnt villages to the ground. And then he came for Eden.
What John didn’t count on was a man just as ruthless. King Benedict’s army was strong, every soldier was loyal, fighting to the death against Winchester’s legions. The war raged; thousands died. One year became two. Then it became clear that Eden would fall.
So Benedict sent his children away. He hid them as best he could in hopes of saving their lives.
And that is where our story begins.
-
You run as far and fast as your legs will carry you, lungs burning, bare feet cut to shreds and caked in cold, thick mud. Your feet sink in and every step is a fight to pull yourself up from the muddy ground. The rain started an hour ago, a sprinkle that quickly turned into a torrential downpour. A deluge coming down in sheets as the wind howls and the cold of night sets in.
But still you run.
In the dark one’s eyes usually adjust, but not tonight. The storm and the wind are brutal as if sent from a higher power to punish you for the sins of your family.
You haven’t heard the dogs for a long time, but that doesn’t ease your fears. At least when you could hear them snarling in the distance, you had some sense of how far away the danger lurked. But now there’s only thunder, the wet sound of rain pounding down on the forest, and your heartbeat thumping in your ears.
The cold sinks into your bones, legs long numb as you stumble and fall into the mire. For a moment you lie there contemplating death. This could be it, you could give up and lay here until the elements take you into an endless sleep. Then it would at least be over. After two days of nonstop running for your life, you’re ready to give up.
You stare up into the dark, trees bending from the force of the wind, branches whipping like lashes ready for a victim. Through the deafening noise of the storm, you hear the sound of horse hooves thundering closer and the shouts of men calling out in the dark.
“Over here!” a voice booms.
You turn over onto your stomach, trying to push yourself up with shaking arms, teeth chattering together. But your body gives out and you collapse back into the muck.
A pair of boots plant themselves inches away from your face as two hands curl around your arms, lifting you into the air.
“This one’s alive!” The man calls back to his comrades.
He hikes your body onto his horse, lying face down with the horn of the saddle pressing into your belly. Then he climbs on behind you.
Your father hid you away in a village on the outskirts of the kingdom in hopes that the war wouldn’t spill that far north. You were there for nearly a year before they invaded. Hundreds of soldiers rode on the village and made fast work of destroying everything and everyone in their wake. It was two nights ago you awoke to the screams of a neighbor boy, his tiny voice calling out for help as flames licked over the thatched roof of their cottage.
The Winchester’s men are known for being as ruthless as her father’s. Perhaps in retaliation, perhaps they’re just heartless men. There’s no way to know who started the descent into madness, but the war went from soldiers killing each other in the battlefield to slaughtering innocents in their beds. There’s no end to the horrors each land has inflicted upon the other, and now you’re in the middle of the nightmare.
The rider unceremoniously drops your body to the ground with a thud and your forearm snaps like a brittle branch. The pain spurs you back to life as you scream, rolling onto your back, cradling your arm. You howl in pain as men surround you in a circle.
“You broke her already,” one of them chuckles.
“She’ll have less fight in her this way.” A large soldier kneels down to get a better look. “I bet she’s something to look at once we get her cleaned up.”
“Please don’t hurt me,” you cry, inching backward. The rain has let up, now it’s little more than a light shower sprinkling down.
“It’s up to you if it hurts,” one laughs.
“Have you taken two cocks before?” A bearded man grabs you by the hair, wrenching your neck back to look at him. You whimper, mouth falling open in agony as your arm shifts and the broken bones rub together. “Answer me!”
“No,” you scream in terror, tears trailing down your cheeks.
“‘Bout time then, don’t you think?” The man lifts your weight up by your hair, nearly tearing the roots from your scalp until you’re on your tiptoes, scrambling to follow him.
“Let me go!” you shriek as he walks you, barefoot and broken, toward the closest tent. You’re in a camp; tents, and soldiers as far as the eye can see.
You can’t think. Your arm is enough to make your stomach turn. You know what comes next, you’ve heard the stories. Soldiers fight so they can enjoy the spoils of war and you are a commodity, a treasure plucked from the battlefield. When they rape you it will be brutal, as many men as one woman can take.
You would rather have frozen to death in the woods.
“Take her dress off. Let’s see her tits!” A man calls out and a dozen voices rise in excited agreement.
Squealing in pain and horror you look at the crowd of men in the room while your tattered dress is cut from your body. The men push and pull with no concern for your arm until you’re naked and trembling, curled into a ball on the floor.
“Stand her up, let’s have a look at her.”
A strong hand is back in your hair, yanking you to your feet as two sets of hands grab at your breasts and another slips between your legs. Two rough fingers push upward into your cunt and you beg for them to stop but the pleas fall on deaf ears.
“If she’s going to scream like that you’ll have to gag her. I can’t listen to that howling all night.” A new man enters the tent, he gives you a once over as he moves to ladle broth from a pot above the fire. He stops and turns, giving you a closer inspection. “Where’d you find her?”
“In the woods.” The man touching your breasts gives your nipple a pinch and laughs. “She’s a little worse for wear but she’ll do. Would you like first go, my lord?”
Somewhere in the back of your head, it registers that this man is someone important but all you can concentrate on are the fingers inside you and complete, utter humiliation.
“I have no taste for this.” He looks you over, eyes narrowing and for a moment you’re sure he knows who you are. They’ll kill you now. “Let her go.”
The hands leave your body immediately and he wanders closer, leaning in to get a sniff.
“Did none of you think to check her?” he asks. “You’re lucky I came when I did. The penalty for a Beta fucking an Omega is death and every one of you was about to seal your fate.”
“What?” The largest man steps back, his expression melting into a horror of his own. “She doesn’t smell like one.”
“She’s taken something, but any Alpha could smell her from a mile away.” He reaches out, cupping your chin, turning your head side to side to inspect your face. “You must always have an Alpha check.”
There’s a low rumble from every man in the room, the sound of disappointing discontent.
“Don’t worry, I’ll give you credit for finding her. I’m sure my father can cough up a little gold for such a special discovery.”
“We are grateful.” The man bows his head.
This momentary savior grabs you by the arm and hauls you, naked and crying, out of the tent toward the far end of the camp. Men stop to watch, chuckling and whistling.
He’s an Alpha, but at least it’s only him. Unless he has a particularly nasty disposition, you can survive one Alpha. Just as your legs are about to give way he turns toward a large tent in the center of the rest. Lifting the flap, he shoves you inside.
There’s a roaring fire in the makeshift fireplace with tables and chairs set up around it. Furs and blankets cover the floor. There are two beds, one either side of the room. From the back of the tent a man emerges. An Alpha, you can smell him immediately. He’s taller than the man holding you, with broad shoulders and a thick beard. He stops to inspect this naked, trembling woman in front of him.
“What’s this?”

BEST FICS OF 2018
first of all… happy new year guys!!!
as promised, here are the best fics i read in 2018 (some of them were published before but i discovered them in 2018), there're not in order:
Chasing empty spaces (79k, chaptered) - 1930s au
by @domestic-harry
The year is 1934 and Harry Styles was to inherent the largest tobacco firm in the south. His parents have picked out the “perfect” girl for him to marry and he has the privilege of receiving the highest education possible. The problem was, Harry hadn’t realized he didn’t actually want any part of that future until he met a mechanic named, Louis Tomlinson.
Don't want shelter (76k, chaptered) - teacher!louis, businessman!harry
by @fullonlarrie
Louis and Harry have known each other all their lives. Friends as children, they danced around each other as teenagers, and have spent the last twenty-five years either screaming at each other or not speaking at all. Except for that one time ten years ago…
When Hurricane Nicole threatens the coast, they end up stuck together in their families' old vacation home that they begrudgingly co-own.
During the storm, and in the months after, they’re both forced to reevaluate their history and what they mean to each other.
Save myself (219k, chaptered) - rich!louis, student!harry
by @make-thisfeellikehome
Louis Tomlinson is a train wreck. That is a way of putting it lightly. His whole world is a vast blur of darkness and bad decisions and it doesn't matter how many times he decides he's done, he always falls back in, because darkness is tricky like that for him. Louis wants for nothing—has everything he could ever ask for really, but it's all nothing. Maybe he needs to be rescued—maybe he can't be rescued. No one knows.
Or the one where Louis is a spoiled rich kid who is ignored by his entire family, who's friends only use him as a means for drugs and no one believes he's worth any more than just that. Harry Styles is a first year university student who's just moved to Doncaster for their theatre program who just happens to get the short straw when he's partnered with Louis for Bio Lab. What could go wrong?
Lightning strikes twice (104k, chaptered) - groupie!louis, famous!harry
by @catfishau
Louis slipped his hand onto Harry’s thigh, snaking his fingers up and inwards. “I’m a big fan. You’re so talented, and I have to admit that I actually fancy you a bit.”
“Yeah?” Harry reached up to push Louis’ fringe out of his eyes. “Well, you know, I like to try and be accommodating to my fans.”
“You’re quite well known for that,” Louis whispered as he turned his head some more, their mouths an inch apart. “So I hear.”
---
Rock star Harry Styles was nineteen when he met Louis, a groupie with a huge heart that Harry couldn’t quite shake from his mind. Fate granted him a second chance at the age of sixty, his washed up and lonely existence being transformed by a widower with a bookshop.
Tell me how to feel about you (38k, chaptered) - college/university au
by @imlouisaf
Louis thought it would feel different once he got to LA. He knew it was best for him; a fresh start as far away as he could get. But when the plane touched down and he stepped out into the hot air around LAX, Louis felt exactly the same.
There's still a hole in his chest where his heart used to be; ripped away even after trying for so many years to keep it from happening. He knows it's not all his fault, not by a mile, but it doesn't stop him from blaming himself for it all going wrong.
If he'd just stayed strong, if he'd said no when he said yes, maybe everything would be different.
Or, Harry has been trying to convince Louis to date him for years, but Louis has always been wary of Harry’s fairly obvious commitment issues. Louis eventually gives him a chance, opening his heart up to the one thing he fears.
Have faith in me (183k, chaptered) - rich!harry, assistant!louis
As the son of Anne Styles, millionaire owner of one of the world's most luxurious fashion labels, Harry has spent his last seventeen years living in carefree extravagance. And now he's grown tired of it, along with the pressure from his mum to follow in her footsteps and the constant care given to him by her past assistants.
When his mum's newest assistant, Louis, moves into the guesthouse, Harry determines to be treated differently. To be treated like an adult. Except Louis is not at all what Harry was expecting...
This is a story about growing up, growing in love and having the faith to make it last.
Shake me down (208k chaptered) - college/university au, insecure!harry, protective!louis
by @agreatperhaps12
Harry's new to college, fresh out of Catholic school and conversion therapy camp, and Louis runs the campus LGBTQIA organization.
Red hands (132k, chaptered)
by @harrytum
“I’ve never told anyone,” Harry murmurs, voice so soft no one else would be able to hear, if it wasn’t just the two of them.
“But you’ve told someone,” Louis says firmly. “And that’s not gonna fucking happen around here. You don’t speak a word of it, or someone’s going to kill you, and we can’t let that happen.”
a dystopian au in which harry, an ex-soldier who’s escaped from his government run camp, accidentally stumbles across the biggest rebel movement in the country, and louis, one of the rebellion’s mysterious leaders who appears to hate him, seems to simultaneously have an obsession with keeping him alive. or: harry is wanted for treason, niall hasn’t changed in four years, liam is always smiling, and louis is angry. like, really angry.
There are no atheists in foxholes (64k, one shot)
by @suspendrs
“Do you think we’ll ever see it again?” Harry asks after a minute. “London?”
Louis blinks, looking down. They very well could spend the rest of their lives on this island, and they’re both very aware of that. Everyone probably already thinks they’re dead, anyway. Their flats are going to be sold, and their families are going to have funerals, and life is going to go on without them. Even if they do get rescued, it’s already been days. The news of the shipwreck has definitely reached London by now. They don’t know if there’s been any effort to look for survivors, but they also don’t know how far away from the wreck they are, or how far people are going to go to look for them, or if anyone even knows that this island is here and, like, it’s very possible that they’ve already looked and stopped looking for survivors, and no one knows they’re out here-
“I don’t know,” Louis says, before he can start spiraling. “I hope so, but I don’t know.”
Or, the sea takes everything from Louis, but it gives him back more than he ever could’ve asked for.
Dance to the distortion (96k, chaptered)
by @domestic-harry
Louis accidentally breaks Harry's camera lens and in order to get it fixed, they decide to participate in a romantic couples study. The only issue is that they are not actually couple. Well that and the fact they cannot stand each other.
Lonely king (40k, chaptered) - broken!louis, indie!harry
When Louis' parents pass away in a car accident, he inherits a cottage in the woods of Scotland. He ends up spending the summer there; unraveling secrets, mending bonds and creating memories with his best friends.
For as long as i can remember (it's been december) (128k, chaptered) - lawyer!louis, chef!harry
After recovering from a severe accident that causes Harry to lose his memory of three years, he moves to London to start his life over as a star chef. Little does he know that when he falls in love with Louis at first sight, it’s not the first time they meet.
Featuring an unintentional game of hot and cold, Harry chasing memories that won’t come back, Louis burying himself in work to try and forget what he can’t forget, Liam being torn between two of his best friends, Zayn as a moral compass and Niall saving the day with good music and brutal honesty.
The road less travelled by (98k, chaptered) - Lumberjack!louis, high school principal!harry
by @freetheankles
Louis was a lumberjack happy to be living his life alone in what could qualify as Middle Of Nowhere, Canada.
Every morning, he went out into the woods, cut his logs, then came home at dusk to a scalding hot shower and a good book by the fireplace. Rinse and Repeat. He had a good life, quiet and peaceful; simple. Not a secluded one as Niall annoyingly claimed.
Louis certainly didn't need some chatty trespasser dropping into his life, his forest, his home. Invading his space, his circle of friends, touching his stuff, asking questions about his husband. His late husband.
A trespasser who wasn’t supposed to crawl under his skin, occupy his thoughts, and steal his heart from where Louis had locked it safely away, only to put it right back on Louis’ sleeve — where it once laid.
No, Louis definitely didn’t need Harry.
Saving symphony hall (124k, chaptered) - symphony hall au, omega!louis, alpha!harry
by @helloamhere
“I think I have an idea,” Louis said. Slowly, and reluctantly, but with a growing sense of the inevitable. “God damnit, I think I have a really good idea.”
“Oh christ, that's the problem-solving face,” Babs said. “Last time we saw that face, he sold a company.”
“Wait, what?” Zayn asked.
“Right place, right time,” Louis said. “Also, fuck my life,”
“What?” Zayn repeated. Niall patted his hand.
“I usually just roll with whatever Louis is about to do,” he said. “It’s better for us all.”
“That’s the attitude,” said Louis, “I’ll tell you tomorrow. Tonight, I need to do some research. Zayn, give me your number. I’m gonna save our symphony.”
Shelter as we go (75k, one shot)
by @fondleeds
Louis looks at him like his words might break him, glass about to splinter, one wrong footfall away from shattering into a million tiny pieces.
“Hey,” Harry breathes, and he knows, meeting Louis’ eyes, that his words could break him easy as anything. He almost wants Louis to bring his boot down.

AU. Nova Scotia, 1968.
Walk that mile (149k, chaptered) - road trip au
Harry stares at him, the line of his jaw standing out scarily. “I wanted to get the most out of this trip so I planned it carefully.” His voice is low and steady and somehow that’s worse than when he was yelling. “So far, you’ve put your sticky fingers on everything I’ve tried to do.”
“Sticky fingers?” Louis repeats, offended. “Are you saying it’s my fault you got stung by a bee? Had you been alone you would have gotten halfway to the Dotty Diner and ran the car off the road because of an allergic reaction, so don’t go blaming me.”
“Polk-A-Dot Drive In,” Harry spits before getting out of the car. He slams the door shut with a deafening reverb and Louis rolls his eyes. - A Route 66 AU where falling in love was never part of the plan.
MY TOP 5:
5. I believe him when he tells of loving me (28k, chaptered)
louis doesn't remember harry. harry takes him home.
4. Wild love (130k, chaptered)
by @daisyharry
“Good,” Julia says, clearly pleased to have them both uncomfortable and unable to look at each other. “Now, I only have one more question before you can go. What are you planning to do when this experiment ruins your friendship?”
“We said we’d stay friends no matter what,” Harry says smoothly, his chin lifting in defense.
“That was our one thing going into it,” Louis agrees. “Stay friends no matter what.”
Julia raises a perfectly manicured brow, “That’s all fine and good. But I hope you realize your emotions aren’t going to realize this is an experiment in the end. If one of you falls for the other and finds out those feelings are not reciprocated, you’re not going to be able to laugh it off as a social experiment. I’m not saying you shouldn’t do this, I’m just hoping you’ve considered all of the possible outcomes.”
- AU: Two best friends try to date each other for forty days. It's supposed to be fun until emotions make it complicated.
3. In sickness and in health (83k, chaptered) - american!harry, british!louis

“Just make sure that you head down to the immigration office as soon as you can, alright?” James reminded them, making them look towards the man and nod in unison. “Remember Louis, you have only two weeks. So make it legal quickly so you don’t get deported.”   “I’ll be sure to remind my assistant to schedule our appointment,” Louis joked and laughed.
A loosely based The Proposal Au where Louis is to be deported in two weeks. Since he doesn't want to lose his job, he asks his assistant, Harry to marry him for a green card. If it makes them realise they're in love, oh well. There's also the fact that no one doubts their credibility.
2. Hush (41k, one shot) - high school au, quarterback!louis, feminine!harry
by @wankerville
“I don't like you like that, Harry.”
“See,” Harry starts, Louis can hear the smile in his voice, “that's where I think you're lying.”
or an au where small towns suck, louis is losing it, and harry’s just too perfect.
1. Light my morning sky (54k, one shot) - college/university au
The relatively cliché College AU in which Louis happens to be proficient in Philosophy, Ethics and keeping his distance, while Harry is in need of a tutor to salvage his grade, and never passes up on a challenge; Zayn and Liam like to gaze wantonly across at each other whilst pretending to read Austen; and Niall is the precarious bond that holds them all together.
(Expect some sappy self-indulgent scenes consisting of bed-sharing, 4 am almost-love declarations, drunk texting, and far too much time spent at the student bar for it to be an accurate depiction of uni life.)

Labrat
Some writing on the Modern AU thing everyone's been screaming at me to do. It's not the official story, there will be more planning and back story into it, but this was just something I wrote to get some thoughts down.
Prompt: Wild as lab rat / Discord Warrior Week prompt.
Warnings: description of gory injuries, blood, lots of blood, somewhat out of characterness, reference to experimentation, bad medical knowledge on authors part, Jin trying her best.
-o-o-o-o-
"So… what's your name?"
Rain pelts down, splashing against the windshield as Warrior drives. His windshield wipers need to be replaced, he should talk to Malon about it later, he can stand smudged windows only for so long. He takes his eyes off the road to look at the kid huddled as close to the door as possible in the passenger seat. His whole face is pink from the botched attempt to wipe off the blood that came impossibly from a bullet wound to the head. Now it is just a scar in between his eyebrows.
Warrior's borrowed jacket does nothing to hide the streaks of red that trail down the kids neck and into the white cotton sweater and sweatpants the kid was wearing. It does nothing to hide how scrawny the kid is, or how tired and scared he looks.
What did they do to him?
The kid remains silent and clutches his hands on his biceps. His blue eyes stubbornly stare out the window.
"My name's Link," Warrior says. He clears his throat and looks out to the road again. He sighs and changes the settings on his wipers so they went faster. The rain is picking up. "But there's actually a lot of people named Link nowadays, and there's quite the handful of us back at HQ, most everyone just calls me Warrior."
The kid remains silent.
Gunfire. It's a constant when you're fighting against corruption and evil. He and his team have finally found the rumored lab. Princess Zelda could be in there, inside that lab located in the middle of the ass nowhere; what felt like a million miles from Castle City. In reality it is just a short fifteen minute jog from the Zora's Domain / Hyrule Kingdom border. But the location doesn't matter. What matters is that Zelda could be held prisoner in there and Warrior has to save her.
They charge into the building and bullets zip into the air, covering the screams of the wounded. The soldiers in the labs are well trained and the scientists are prepared for a siege.
"Omega, find the computers. Get all the information you can," he commands as they barge into the building. Warrior holds out his gun and rapped fires almost ten guys down in the blink of an eye. Seven comrades nod and head off a different path from the rest. "Gama, search for the leader," five of the best warriors he had on his team complied and broke off in a separate direction as well. Warrior turns to the remaining three, four including himself. "Alpha, we check the cells."
He was hoping to find Zelda. He found the kid instead.
"You know you're safe now, right?" He asks. He hears a shifting of fabric and he turns in time to see the kid huddle further into his borrowed jacket. He turns back to the road once again. "You'll see soon enough. You'll like HQ, it's super peaceful. Everyone there are very nice. I think you'd get along with Malon, I bet she'll practically adopt you."
The number of corrupt soldiers in the compound become fewer and fewer the further they head into the hallways. Warrior and the other members of his team split up when they finally find where the cells are located. They open each metal door one by one, most are empty, the others have corpses. It smells horrible, especially one particular empty cell that looks like it has been lived in for a very long time.
Suddenly, the unmistakable sound of gunfire splits through the air.
He sighs once again. He's been doing that a lot since his team left the compound with nothing but a strange kid and documents on the horrible stuff done to him. He wants to throw up thinking about it, but he knows he has to save it till later. Time and Impa would want to know what happened on the mission, not how he feels about it.
The rest of the ride is silent and filled with Warrior constantly checking his mirrors for the other cars in his group and for a possible tail. They haven't lost anyone this time around, which is good, but it sets Warrior on edge. The compound looked half empty when they got there in the first place. The highest member there was an assistant scientist and the soldiers were numbered in few. And… they were trying to kill their main subject.
He and the others sprint over to the horrible noise. Who's firing the gun? Who's on the receiving end? Questions and worries cycle through his head like a broken record until he and his team barge into what looks like a morgue, just bigger and holding only one table. A table with straps. His breath catches in his throat when he sees a scientist and a soldier standing over a child, blood is splattered across the floor and painting the walls red. The kid is red as well, but they are groggily trying to sit up. There isn't a wound on his body to suggest where all the blood came from.
"Drop your weapon and surrender!" He demands, pointing his gun at the solder who has his own weapon pointed right at the figure on the ground.
The solder doesn't listen, he fires his weapon and the bullet rips through the skull of the kid… the child, and kills him instantly. Warrior downs the scientist and the soldier right there in the blink of an eye.
Hours pass and Warrior has given into the temptation of the radio. Upbeat pop music sings through the speakers of his car and the kid has fallen asleep, not that Warrior can blame him. He's had a very rough… who knew how long.
"Dammit," Warrior growls and tries not to look at how much red is splattered on the floor and walls. An innocent kid has just been killed right in front of Warrior, and he could do nothing about it. He turns to the others in his group and is slightly comforted that they look as sick as he feels. "Check the other rooms, see if you can find any others."
They nod and leave the morgue-like room, leaving Warrior alone with the corpses.
He slowly walks up to the body of the scientist and carefully begins to go through their pockets. All he finds is a name tag, indicating the scientist isn't of important status. There's handcuffs in the back pocket and Warrior doesn't want to know what those are for. He stands up and goes to the soldier, relieving them of their weapon and checking for anything else that could be useful. There's a walki, but it is crushed, probably by how the body fell when Warrior shot it in the heart. He sighs and looks at the single table in the room. There's blood all over it and the straps are torn and frayed from countess times of usage. He fights the urge to vomit when he looks down at the kid again. Blood is lazily dripping through the hole in his head.
Then, something flickers by the body of the kid. Warrior blinks and narrows his eyes, taking a weary step forward, as that something flickers again. It continues to light into existence, slowly, weakly, and soon he thinks he can make out the vague form of a Zora woman cloaked in teal light.
"C-c'mon…." She whispers. Her voice is so weak and she's talking like she's been in pain for a very long time. "I- you won't die… like this…"
Her frail and transparent hands shakily go down to the kids cheeks, ghostly steam rises, but nothing else happens.
"What the hell?" He whispers.
The Zora woman shoots her head up and she looks at him with wide eyes. "You can… see me…?"
Warrior can do nothing but nod. The Zora woman smiles for a second before she's looking down at the kid desperately once again. "You have to… help me… lend me your… strength…"
He doesn't understand what she means, but he walks over to her anyway and sits down next to her. Her hand is suddenly grabbing his and it feels like cold fire. She places the other hand over the gruesome hole in the boy's head and she closes her eyes, flickering once, twice, as she activates… something.
Warrior can feel a fire erupt in his veins, though it doesn't hurt. He can sense that something good is happening, and he should let it continue. The Zora woman grunts in effort as the hole in the kid's head begins to slowly repair itself. Warrior watches as brains stitch back together, as the skull grows around it, as tissue forms and skin closes in a horrid scar. He sees something else glowing then, and when he looks down he sees that it's his own hand that the light is coming from. Or, more like the triangle symbol glowing at the back of his head. He barely has time to question what that is before the Zora woman lets out a final, agonized cry before completely fading out from existence.
Then, the boy below him groans.
After that, got got a call from the Omega team, saying that they found the what the rumored important project was. It was a boy that could come back from the dead.
As Warrior pulls into a hidden, underground entrance and parks his car in the garage, he looks at the back of his hand. He's never seen that symbol before, well... never on his hand. He's seen it multiple times in the ancient structures of old buildings closer to the castle, and the castle itself seems to be based completely off of it. It's in religious texts and on the robes of court witches and wizards, but for the life of him he cannot think of what it means.
More cars pull in behind him and he looks over to the sleeping kid. None of the files that team Omega has found had any kind of name or history of where the boy came from. Just excruciating details of each and every thing done to the boy. They called him The Subject, that's it. Like he was the only thing they worked on inside that hell lab, like all those other cells with dead bodies in them were nothing.
He he sighs and turns off the engine before jumping out. He walks over to the other side of the car as the other rebellion soldiers start packing up their stuff and heading inside the base. He waves over a couple medics before he carefully opens the passenger door. The kid slowly begins to fall back and he catches the sleeping boy before he can fall onto the ground. Warrior cradles him in his arms and approaches the medics. They help him set the boy down but the movement is too quick and the boy awakes with a start. Warrior loses his grip and the boy falls to the ground, breathing hard and panicking.
"It's okay," he says as the medics try to get closer. The boy scrambles backwards on the asphalt below him, Warriors borrowed jacket falls off and fully reveals the horror show that is his clothes. The medics won't have it, they are trained for war and they won't let a panicking soldier delay medical treatment. Warrior feels that that is the last thing the boy needs, but he does nothing to stop them.
Eventually, one of the two medics manage to get the kid in a restraining hold as the other begins to wipe off blood from the visible skin and shine a light into the kids wild eyes. He continues his check up all the while the boy is squirming and whimpering and trying to get free.
"I'll need him back at the clinic," the medic says, sighing and sitting back. The other releases their hold just a fraction on the boy and the boy relaxes just a tad, "but it looks like he has a major concussion of some sort."
"How bad?" Warrior asks.
Suddenly, the kid leans over and vomits all over the floor. The medic wrinkles his nose and the other, who was holding the boy, instantly begins to rub his back. Warrior steps a bit closer, concerned but having no idea what to do.
The medic sighs. "Bad. We need to get him to a better medical setting. Letting him sleep on the way here could have been a bad idea, Captain."
Warrior remains silent as the medics begin to force the boy onto a gurney. The boy begins to panic again as he's strapped down, and Warrior wants to scream at them to stop. Who knows how many times the kid has been forced down and tied up, it's not fair that his rescuers are doing the same thing. Yet, before Warriors can comment on it, the medics are wheeling the boy away.
"Is that the kid you were talking about?" Comes a voice.
Warrior straightens up and looks behind him where the leader of their little rebellion was standing. Link, well, another Link, everyone just calls him Time. Though, no one is sure why. Behind him is standing another boy, probably just a bit older than the kid Warrior had just brought back. Named after his father but goes by Twilight.
Warrior sighs and rubs his forehead, he tries to not think about how the place he's rubbing is the same place the kid was missing his brains from just a few hours ago.
"Yeah."
Time nods as Twilight looks at where the medics have disappeared into the base, his expression sad.
"You can give me a report later," Time sighs, "it's clear that the princess hasn't been found."
"No sir," Warrior responds.
Yet he can't help but feel that he's found someone just as important.

She bit her lip, wondering what the Alpha could need help with. The confession was out of the blue and confused her a bit. "How could I help?" She watched Dean take a deep breath as he moved to sit next to her. Y/n found her eyes fixated on the way his muscles moved under his skin, on how his back expanded with his breathing. Her cheeks flushed bright red when she realized that Dean was now staring at her. He chuckled, leaning in and kissing her forehead. She blinked in surprise at the kiss, but for some reason it helped calm her nerves. Dean stayed silent though after the kiss, and she could feel the effort and regret in his mind. “Dean, anyway I can help…I will.” He glanced up at her with a small smile, the regret of pulling her into this starting to melt away.
“Well sweetheart…I need your help saving my family…” He took a breath before starting to talk about what had happened. A couple of hunters had found his pack and had attempted to kill them. He and John had tried to fight them off, hell even Sammy tried to join in on the fight even though he was just a Beta. The hunters had managed to shoot John in the leg with silver before the older alpha had ordered his sons to split. John drew off the hunters while he and Sammy had taken off down the highway with Baby.
“Baby?” Y/n tilted her head thinking that was a strange name for a werewolf. Dean caught on to her thoughts and let out a huff of a laugh, his shoulders shaking with the sound.
“Baby is what I call my 67 Impala. But anyways, I need your help to track down these hunters. They’re determined to wipe out my family and we can’t keep running forever.” Dean sighed, grabbing her hands in his. “Please…” Y/n felt the sorrow cloud his mind, he hated asking for help, but he'd swallow his pride for the safety of his family. He turned to fully face her, giving her hands a squeeze.
There wasn’t any debate of what to do in her mind, she needed to help her future family. Y/n nodded, leaning forward to give Dean a reassuring kiss to the lips. “I’ll help save your family. Save our family.” Dean’s eyes widened as he crashed his lips against hers. She could feel the overwhelming emotion wash off him in waves as he lay her back on the bed. Her arms circled around his neck as he kissed her slow and tenderly. His lips were soft against hers and the feeling shot straight to her core, sending her brain into a frenzy as she thought of what they would feel like during her heat. How they would feel dragging along her folds, that hot wet tongue circling her clit before delving into her entrance, soaked with slick. Dean's growl shook her from her thoughts as he looked down at her, his pupils were lust blown and dominated the emerald green of his eyes.
"Y/n, if you don't stop I'm going to end up taking you right now." She swallowed, looking up at the Alpha that was visibly just managing to restrain himself from making true on his words. He stared at her with an intensity that left her breathless, his heavy breathing covering her face with its warmth and spice. His lips were parted slightly and she couldn't find herself sorry for rendering him in this state. She just smiled, making him growl again as he gently nipped at her throat. "My 'mega shouldn't tease her Alpha like that." She chuckled, gently pushing him off of her so she could sit up.
"What if your omega enjoys seeing her Alpha so out of it?" She laughed as she stood to grab a shirt, only for Dean to grab her hips and pull her down on to his lap.  She blushed brightly as she felt the rock-hard bulge that prodded at her ass. She swallowed thickly, looking back at Dean as he held her close.
"Then I guess I'll just have to fuck the rebellion out of my omega then when she's in heat." He whispered against her ear, gently grabbing the lobe between his teeth before he let go of her. His smug smile met her as she turned around, grabbing a black tank top and slipping it on. Her thoughts were all over the place, mostly settled on how good he'd feel inside her. Normally when an Alpha and Omega found each other, their scents would send the other into an early heat/rut but thankfully her suppressants left them some extra time so they didn't end up fucking each other senseless in that motel room. He stood gracefully, pulling her back into his arms, as if he couldn't get enough of her in his arms. She leaned against him, feeling him dip down to scent her neck as she did the same, feeling him tense slightly in her arms. His scent was everything good she had ever experienced, every laugh, every good feeling from saving someone. It was home to her.
Dean was the first to pull back, leaning down to grab her duffle and sling it over his shoulder. "We should head out, I have a cabin rented a few hours drive from here. Sammy is already there waiting for us." She shook her head, starting to pack her laptop bag.
"No, we need to go to The Moor's Landing...I need to grab my things." She could feel the slight growl in Dean's voice as his thoughts turned slightly frustrated. He knew of The Moor's Landing, most monsters did. That was one of the main meeting places for hunters. For a monster to go there was certain death. He opened the door, looking back to her.
"We need to get to the cabin as soon as possible. We can't go there. I can't go there." He growled out, setting her duffle on the trunk of the Impala as she followed him out.
"Well then, I'll meet you at the cabin. I'll need my things if I'm going to help you and your family." She pushed by him to get to the Charger, not missing the appreciative eye that the Alpha gave the old car.
"I'm not leaving your side Y/n. I'm not risking those hunters being there and hurting you." He caged her against the car, his face level with hers as his voice took on that Alpha tone. She fought against the compulsion to cave into what he said, a growl rising in her throat.
“Well you’re gonna have too if you want my help! I can’t help if I don’t have my things.” Her eyes bore into Dean’s, both with intensity and determination darkening their eyes. Dean was the first one to break, letting out a frustrated sigh.
“Fine we’ll go get your things but I can’t come in with you. I’d like to live so I can claim you 'mega.” She smiled and kissed him gently, resting a hand on his cheek.
“It’ll be alright Dean.” She pressed their foreheads together, a soft smile curving her lips. “I’ll let you know as soon as anything happens.” That seemed to help soothe the Alpha as his shoulders relaxed and he leaned back against Baby.
“Fine. I’ll be right behind you.” Dean leaned in close to whisper against her ear after she had turned to climb into the charger. The heat of his body pressed against her back while the heavy heat of his still hard cock warmed her ass through both his jeans and hers.
“Who's teasing who Alpha?” She chuckled, feeling his bulge twitch as she flexed her ass. The motion drew out a growl from Dean as he chuckled.
“Fair point. Let’s go.” He smirked as he stepped back and climbed into the Impala. Y/n quickly followed suit and slid into the driver’s seat of the Charger, letting her engine rev as she started up the classic car. She smiled over at Dean, letting out a chuckle as he followed. The Impala roared to life, the engine vibrating in time with the charger’s. Her foot pressed down on the gas, sending the large car rolling forward as she swiftly pulled out of the motel’s parking lot and on to the highway, Dean right behind her in the Impala. The motel, where her home base was, was a 10-hour drive south to Richmond Virginia, and the whole way her and Dean talked. Finding out they shared an interest in music, both loved cars, and old cheesy movies. Dean grew silent though as they turned into the lot of The Moor’s Landing, and she could feel that it made him instantly uncomfortable. He stayed behind near the entrance, close enough for him to intervene if something happened yet far enough away not to draw attention to himself.
Y/n parked in front of her room and slid out, popping the trunk before unlocking the door. She didn’t know who was more relieved that there weren’t any additional scents in the room when she stepped in, her or Dean. And the thought made her smile, she definitely felt a whole lot safer now that she had - err…. he had - found her. The room smelled slightly of resin from the protected bars placed at the window and door, she guessed it had gotten quite warm in here while she was away. They were the first thing to go in her suitcase, the next were her books, then her clothes and finally some of her weapons. Most of them were already in the trunk of her charger but a select few she left behind. They held more sentimental value, such as her mom’s favourite gun and her machete. It just didn’t feel right to use them. She looked around the room, making sure she had all the things before closing the trunk with her things inside. She turned to the Impala and smiled before heading to the bar to say goodbye to Shannon.
The beta smiled wide when Y/n walked in, leaning forward on the counter. Her smile only widened as she got closer and the beta could smell Dean’s Alpha scent. “Oh my gosh Y/n! Did you find yourself an Alpha?!” The older woman squealed in delight, giving her fists a shake in excitement. “Oh god, you need to tell me! Was it your soulmate?” She brought her voice down lower, covering one side of her mouth with her hand so the other hunters in the room couldn’t read her lips. The beta had been the only one that Y/n had told about her soulmate being a werewolf or some kind of monster. She was the only person the Omega trusted besides Dean, of course.
“Yeah, he found me.” She chuckled, pulling up a stool and leaning forward. “God he is so fucking hot Shannon.” She held her cheek in her palm, chuckling while she felt Dean’s smug pride wash over her. “Speaking of, I’m actually here to grab my stuff and head out. Dean’s waiting for me.” She smiled as the beta’s expression turned a strange mix of happy and sad, she understood completely. Y/n had been living at this motel for the better part of 4 years now, always paying month by month. But now she was expected to go live with her Alpha. She grabbed the woman’s hands and gave them a reassuring squeeze.  “Don’t worry Shannon, I’ll keep in touch.” She smiled, turning and heading towards the door, with one more final wave goodbye she left the bar and that chapter of her life forever. She felt Dean in her mind as she walked to her charger.
‘You’ve told others about me? About us?’ He seemed aghast at the idea as if they were some hidden secret.
‘Of course, I did! That woman’s been my best friend for years now.’ She climbed into her car, turning the engine and driving over to the entrance of the lot. ‘Let’s go home now.’
She felt the emotion well up in him as she referred to his cabin as home. Though really, anywhere that her Alpha was, she would consider home. They locked eyes before driving off on to the highway. They had a long drive ahead of them.
Y/n hit the brakes with a screech and the burning of rubber when a loud explosion rocked the air around them. She clambered out of the car, her eyes locked on where The Moor’s Landing had just stood only a few minutes ago. Flames licked out the broken glass windows where stores of alcohol had exploded. She took a shaky breath as she took a step back towards the building. Shannon and the few hunters that were inside didn’t leave the front doors, and Y/n could faintly hear their screams as the flames ate away at their bodies. “SHANNON!!!!” Y/n screamed starting to run back towards the building and right into Dean’s strong embrace.
“Y/n no!…It’s too late…” He held her tight as the omega broke down, tears tracking down her cheeks as her shoulders heaved with each shuddering breath she took. “I’m sorry….” He just rubbed her back, his shirt quickly getting soaked with her tears. He held her head against his chest as he looked over to the burning building. The screams had gone quiet now, even to his wolfish senses. Only the sounds of random bottles exploding and flame filled the air now. Flames and the sobs of Y/n in his arms.
