MY DEMON
GENRES: Supernatural, Romance
SUMMARY: A cold-hearted Demon remembers what it’s like to be human after falling in love with the one who stole his powers.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Supportive PR employees, diabolical chaebols, powerful skinship, sham marriages, best friend butlers, sword dancing, Joseon flashbacks, tattoos, cropped suit jackets, cakes, clocks, disguised deities, full moon transformations, and the joy of just letting go and listening to your heart.
HOT TAKE: I didn't really love the start of this show, but its themes of loss and love really pulled on my heartstrings throughout. I didn't really love the ending either, but hey, its a love story and you get what you get. I will say though, Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung win the award for 'Couple with the Smoothest Skin I've Ever Seen in a Kdrama.'

My Demon
TV Shows/Dramas watched in 2024
My Demon (2023/24, South Korea)
Director: Kim Jang Han
Writer: Choi Ah Il
Mini-review:
Look, I'm not gonna lie. I started this drama for a very superficial reason: Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang are one of the most gorgeous couples I've ever seen. And tbh, that's one of the things that kept me watching until the end. The first half was pretty fun, thanks to their will-they-won't-they dynamic and some really funny supporting characters and recurring gags. Unfortunately, it began to drag around the middle part, and then it got more and more boring with each passing episode. By the time the final episode came out, I no longer cared about the plot, the characters or anything else (although the ending itself was quite nice). With all that in mind, I can't help but think My Demon would have worked much better as a movie.

The Veil. 9/10
Story: 10
Acting: 10🔥
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: The K2 (kdrama) Healer (kdrama) ; Vagabond (kdrama)
There is one thing I’ve noticed with Namgoong Min. Usually every freaking drama he’s in is golden and that’s usually because of his acting and the choices of dramas he decides to be in. This one here is golden, probably my top favorite so far he’s been in and trust me it’s so hard to choose since there’s so many. Nonetheless this is an outstanding action thriller spy drama that kept me captivated throughout. With nicely placed twists, spot on writing, the writers were brilliant, just everything was perfect if your a fan of this genre.

Kdrama Review
Drama: One Dollar Lawyer (2022)
My Rating: 9/10
Genre: Comedy, Law, Drama
The Good:
Nam Goong Min's acting
The way he walks, talks and comedic timing was spot on. There were little mannerisms that Goong Min does that make his character even funnier. Aside from being funny, he really sold with the emotional acting.
Hilarious and fun
The trio are just hilarious with their shenanigans which made every case so entertaining to watch. Jihun's out of this world thinking, Mari's facial expressions and Mr. Sa's cheerfulness!
Meaningful flashback
The flashbacks gave more depth to Ji Hun's character. It shows that the one who seem the happiest are hurting the most. It was a pretty long flashback but I didn't expect it to be a meaningful one.
Side characters
I was annoyed with Prosecutor Seo at first but I grew to love him. He's a dumb dumb but so funny. While Ye Jin is cool, serious and smart.
Good ending
The ending was satisfying, tying up loose ends and also funny. What a way to end a drama 😂 Ahhh-ah-ahh~ Love it!
The Bad:
No romance (not really a bad thing)
If you want romance, this is not one. It would have been cute if there were romance between Jihun & Mari and Prosecutor Seo and Ye Jin. Though we had some scenes that were cute. If only they continued with 4 more episodes.

(via ONE DOLLAR LAWYER)
Cheon Ji Hun (Namkoong Min) è un avvocato dal talento particolare e insolito.
Il compenso per la sua consulenza e per il suo aiuto, ammonta sempre, e solo, a sole 1.000 won.

ONE DOLLAR LAWYER
GENRES: Comedy, Legal Procedural
SUMMARY: Lawyer with a unique business model (and a unique past) defends those who need support the most.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Devastatingly cool sunglasses, office aquariums, jjajangmyeon, adorable children, bold suits, laundry vans, manhwa spoilers, constant hair primping, awkward ex-coworkers, dog-toting landlords, sordid pasts, unrequited romance, instant coffee, braised chicken, and earnest social justice.
HOT TAKE: There were a few side-plots that I wish they had spent a bit more time on, but I'm elated that they didn't try to force a main character team romance where it definitely didn't belong.

DRAMA REVIEW | One Dollar Lawyer (2022)
One Dollar Lawyer wastes no time: we jump right into the tale of our low-fee lawyer, and see his eccentric ways play out first-hand. The drama excels at random offhanded moments of comedy, and that’s totally what I’m here for.
Namgoong Min, of course, is just having a grand old time and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Kim Ji-eun, and their interactions when they start working together is superb. On the other hand, Park Jin woo is mostly known for his more serious roles but here you get to see him in full comedy, delivering some a very funny performance. Choi Dae Hoon plays the prosecutor dork trying really hard to be cool without realizing his honesty and hard work are exactly what make him one of the best characters in this show. Finally, Gong Min Jung shines as the smart and cool as a cucumber prosecutor, the perfect fold to her colleague and our lead's eccentric ways.
All in all, this was a drama full of nuance comedy, that really excelled when it decided to get more into the drama or thriller genre. Far from boring, dragged out, or overly violent, the cases were more about helping people in need (mostly people who society discriminates against), but we also have a bigger plot related to our hero's tragic origin story.
The standout guest roles go to Lee Chung ah and Nam Myung Ryul is what's probably the most heartbreaking performances of the entire drama.
I recommend it !
