Do you have specific criteria? Seems 60ish, white and chubby/stocky … but what else grabs your attention?
##########################################################################################
Love a great personality, someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously. Who can laugh at themselves when they goof up. Someone who is over themselves and isn't problematic. Enjoys life and wants the same for others.
Yeah, I'm a bit of a homebody. So someone who doesn't mind being home most of the time wouldn't hurt. Enjoying the simple things, quiet dinner at home with some tasty, yet terrible health-wise, dessert. Watching movies, reading books, building Lego sets, or just banging it out all day sounds fun to me.
Regarding physical factors, yes, I like my "60ish, white and chubby/stocky," daddy bears. I will date any race, I'm not saying, "only white." But admittedly, the white daddies are what I desire. I'm a Hispanic guy, so hopefully, I don't come off being racist, that's not my intent. Fur turns me on, especially those sexy treasure trails down nice round bellies. When it comes to male "members," I love all sizes. From average, to short fat ones, to long skinny ones, as long as it's attached to a man I like there's no problem. Though I hope they can get, and stay, hard for long periods of time. I find watching a man walk around with a hard c0ck incredibly sexy…
If you want desired "fantasy" characteristics; I prefer over 5'6"(my height), top 75/25, white, light brown to blonde hair, blue/green eyes, thin lips, great smile, strong chin, 5 o'clock shadow, thick neck, broad shoulders, muscular arms/forearms, strong pecs, round belly, bubble butt, thick hips/thighs, muscular calves, all covered in a reasonable amount of hair. Not really a foot guy, so yeah, don't care. lol (I, subconsciously, just described Gary Patterson, guess that's why he's my #1 guy)
If I keep going I might start to ramble, so if there's anything else you'd like to know, don't be afraid to ask. *wink*

RESULTS Fandom's Favorite HBO War Character (Round 1)
Thank you so much for the great responses to everyone who participated in Round 1 of the poll. 85 votes were cast in this round, which was way more than I ever hoped would participate! Also, your comments in the optional box and in my Tumblr notes are hilarious. Please keep them coming.

Scottsboro Boys · Lead Belly
The Scottsboro Boys were nine African American teenagers and young men, ages 13 to 20, accused in Alabama of raping two white women in 1931.
On March 25, 1931, two dozen people (an equal mix of blacks and whites)   were "hoboing" on a freight train traveling between Chattanooga and Memphis, Tennessee. A group of white teenage boys saw 18-year-old Haywood Patterson on the train and attempted to push him off, claiming that it was "a white man's train". A group gathered rocks and attempted to force all of the black men from the train. Patterson and the other black passengers were able to ward off the group. The humiliated white teenagers jumped or were forced off the train and reported to the city's sheriff that they had been attacked by a group of black teenagers. The sheriff deputized a posse, stopped and searched the train at Paint Rock, Alabama and arrested the black Americans. Two young white women were also taken to the jail, where they accused the African-American teenagers of rape.
Three rushed trials held in Scottsboro, Alabama, where the defendants received poor legal representation. All but 13-year-old Roy Wright were convicted of rape and sentenced to death (the sentence in Alabama at the time for black men convicted of raping white women), even though there was no medical evidence indicating that rape had taken place.
The case was appealed to the Alabama Supreme Court. The court affirmed seven of the eight convictions, and granted 13-year-old Eugene Williams a new trial because he was a minor.  One Chief Justice, John C. Anderson dissented, ruling that the defendants had been denied an impartial jury, fair trial, fair sentencing, and effective counsel.
The cases were retried two times. During the retrials, one of the alleged victims admitted to fabricating the rape story and asserted that none of the Scottsboro Boys touched either of the white women. Each time a jury returned a guilty verdict.
The case was sent to the US Supreme Court on appeal. It ruled that African Americans had to be included on juries, and ordered retrials. Charges were dropped for four of the nine defendants. The other five were convicted and received sentences ranging from 75 years to death. All but two of these served prison sentences; all were released or escaped by 1946. Clarence Norris, the oldest defendant and the only one sentenced to death in the final trial, "jumped parole" in 1946 and went into hiding. He was found in 1976 and pardoned by Governor George Wallace. By this time, the case had been thoroughly analyzed and shown to be an injustice to the men. On November 21, 2013, Alabama's parole board voted to grant posthumous pardons to the three Scottsboro Boys who had not been pardoned or had their convictions overturned.

With a little detective work, the fletcherinis have established that this is probably Patterson House in Nashville. This literally doesn't mean anything or provide proof to anything it was just fun to hunt it out.
Have a look at the bar and the studs on the leather chair.

julie probably calls luke “baby/babe” or “honey” to make him flustered 75% of the time
listen
luke probably gets even more flustered when she calls him honey cause it gives super domestic vibes and luke “that’s my wife” patterson is a sucker for that lbr
but also luke saying “babe” and having julie turn to him with a “yes?” is something that takes him a while to get used to without being that Weirdo who has a massive grin on his face because julie molina answers to him when he says Babe

So often, it seems that a celebrity controversy could be entirely preventable if the celebrity in question simply chose not to speak. But perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise that a man with more than 300 books to his name isn’t one to hold back. In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, James Patterson decided that the world needed to hear his thoughts on racism and Woody Allen’s memoir. According to Patterson, whose extensive works have prompted severallibraries to joke that he has “written everything,” older white men now face “another form of racism” when they try to make it as writers in the entertainment industry. “Can you get a job? Yes. Is it harder? Yes,” Patterson said. “It’s even harder for older writers. You don’t meet many 52-year-old white males.” The prolific co-writer also took issue with his own publisher, Hachette Book Group, noting that he “hated” the decision to dropWoody Allen’s memoir, Apropos of Nothing, back in 2020. The move came after Hachette employees walked out because of the long-standing sexual-abuse allegations against Allen. “He has the right to tell his own story,” Patterson said, adding, “I’m almost always on the side of free speech.” (Allen’s memoir later found a new home with Arcade Publishing.) Meanwhile, Patterson’s comments come as he is promoting his own memoir, James Patterson: The Stories of My Life, because of course they do. After all, before he was a writer, Patterson had a successful career in… you guessed it, advertising.
Tumblr media
James Patterson has apparently seen what being marginalized is like, and it isn't for him. Or for the aging, white male writers he seems to be worried about.
Reflecting on his illustrious career following the release of his autobiography, the bestselling author expressed concern for white men, whom he thinks are now having difficulty finding work in the entertainment and publishing industries.
Patterson classified their struggle as "just another form of racism" in an interview published in the Sunday Times in the U.K. Not surprisingly, he's getting a lot of heat for saying so.
The quote came as the "Stories of My Life" author, whose writing success came in tandem with his thrillers about Black detective Alex Cross, was trying to express disappointment over film adaptations of his novels, saying that he'd for once like to "stand up and cheer for one of my books on the silver screen."
Big-screen adaptations of his more than 300 books include the Morgan Freeman-starring films "Kiss the Girls" (1997) and "Along Came a Spider" (2001). (Next up is an adaptation of "Run, Rose, Run," which he co-wrote with music legend Dolly Parton.)
“I just wanted to create a character who happened to be Black,” the 75-year-old said. “I would not have tried to write a serious saga about a Black family. It’s different in a detective story because plot is so important.”
“I get it,” he continued. “How could we run through that period, especially in Hollywood, where there was all this talent and nobody got hired?”
From there, the writer of the Sunday Times piece said that Patterson is now worried about white men struggling to find work in film, theater, TV and publishing and thinks the problem is "just another form of racism."
"What’s that all about?” he mused. “Can you get a job? Yes. Is it harder? Yes. It’s even harder for older writers. You don’t meet many 52-year-old white males.”
Critics were quick to judge "The President Is Missing" co-author's remarks, taking to the replies of Patterson's most recent tweet to share their thoughts.
"So sorry to hear about the discrimination you and your $700 million face on a daily basis. We really should do more to help rich white multi millionaires get their voices heard. Can't imagine the struggles. Hang in there sir," one user wrote.
"I hope you really did not say this," added another.
"Great to see you overcome the stigma of being a white dude and get the gig to... *checks notes* write your autobiography. How many other writers were you up against?" said one tweet.
"You already know.... I'm not throwing away or burning my money (books [of] his I own) but I'm [definitely] removing them from my library And will never purchase them again. This man literally had 2 well known people of color play his main Character Alex cross then says this b.s. done," wrote another user.
Representatives for Patterson did not immediately respond Monday to The Times' request for comment.
Elsewhere in the interview, Patterson also said he disapproves of actors and public figures weighing in on topics they've gleaned off the internet, but said that he's "almost always on the side of free speech.”
He said that he "hated" that Little, Brown in 2020 pulled embattled director Woody Allen's memoir after the publishing company's staff staged a walkout.
"He has the right to tell his own story," Patterson argued.

1970s Soul Playlist
Added a few criminally underheard gems to this terrific 1970s soul playlist on Spotify that I haven't updated in a couple years. Two of these adds are by pretty obscure acts that you've probably never heard of and the other one is by Ike & Tina Turner. So let's get into 'em!
First up, we have a guy from Detroit named Nathaniel (Na) Allen, whose entire recording career appears to have only consisted of about a half-dozen 7-inches between the years of 1970 and 1973. And Allen may have called the Motor City his home, but most of his material was recorded in the south, including his only record for the Shreveport, Louisiana-based Ronn Records—a sublabel of Jewel Records—from 1970 called "Lay It on Me Right Now." This lovely, tender, and relaxed tune has some great and sweetly ringing guitar work on it to go along with Allen's sure and steady vocals, and as of right now, it only has about 3,200 plays on Spotify. In 1991, "Lay It on Me Right Now" appeared on another Jewel sublabel's compilation, Paula Records' Super Soul Blues, Volume II, under the name of "Bring It on Home," which is also on Spotify, and currently has under 1,000 plays.
Next, "Back in Love Again," by a vocal duo from the very tiny town of Magee, Mississippi called The Patterson Twins. These guys also ended up putting out one record on Ronn, but before that, in 1973, they released "Back in Love Again" on Cincinnati label King Records. This one's a nice and smooth, southern-styled tune with a coasting chorus that sees the brothers harmonizing with some female backup singers to add some depth and gravitas. And the Pattersons may have had a longer and more fruitful career than that of Na Allen's, but this excellent tune of theirs currently only has under 1,000 plays on Spotify.
And last, but certainly not least for these Spotify adds is Ike & Tina Turner's brilliant cover of Faye Adams & the Joe Morris Orchestra's "Shake a Hand," the original of which is a slow-moving and powerful R&B classic from 1953 that managed to stay atop the Billboard R&B chart for nine whole weeks. This cover, which appears to have been first recorded in 1979, but stayed unreleased until 1985 when it first appeared on an Ike & Tina comp called Golden Empire, speeds things up a bit from the original version and adds a little southerly funk to it too. And Tina may lead the whole way through it vocally, but to me, this thing really crests on the bridge, with an irresistibly quirky and primitively whistling electronic keyboard solo added to the mix 🤩. And for how great this little nugget is, and for how popular Ike & Tina were as a duo, the fact that this tune only has under 9,900 plays on Spotify feels pretty ridiculous!
Na Allen - "Bring It on Home" Patterson Twins - "Back in Love Again" Ike & Tina Turner - "Shake a Hand"
Now, while you can also find those three songs on the YouTube version of this playlist, there's an extra one that I added to it this week that's not on Spotify too, and it's another one from the Patterson Twins, with a song that they released as a b-side on King Records in 1973 called "I Got Some Problems," which sees them in a much more upbeat and lively mode and doing a whole lot more satisfying harmonizing than they did on "Back in Love Again" too. Currently at a very low view count of under 120.
Patterson Twins - "I Got Some Problems"
And this playlist is also on YouTube Music too.
So with the Spotify version of this look back at some super underrated 70s soul tunes, we now have 22 songs for a total of 75 minutes; but over on YouTube, we've got an extra song, which brings us up to 77 minutes.
Back to posting about electronic stuff next week! 😎
Enjoy!
More to come, eventually. Stay tuned!

Ch31, 2 Sisters Detective Agency by J Patterson and C Fox
TW: discussion of murder, homophobic hate crime
Okay, so the fatphobia scene felt like it was written pretty well. There was a bit of build up with Rhonda talking about how people saw her as a fat person.
The only mentioned of Sean gayness was
“He’s just messing with you. Sean’s gay.” Ashton said.
Pg 75 of Chapter 20
.
Ignoring the fact that Ashton is outing Sean and he’s being a manipulative ass to the server. Based on his behavior, its implied that he pretends to be straight, including with hiring sex workers.
So.. knowing all this. The group do a “raid” basically entailing them roughing up someone one of the Midnight Crew, doesn’t like. In this case, Vera hates her science teacher, Newcombe.
Newcombe happened to be gay and with his boyfriend when they attacked.
While ransacking the place it’s described as Sean/Benzo trying to be “creative” by spray painting the f-slur to throw off the police, thinking this was a hate crime and not blood hungry teenagers.
At the end, one of the group kills Newcombe.
Like.. dude… Not only do you have the ONE gay character being an all around horrible person and then the OTHER one gets murdered.
*sigh*
Newcombe could’ve been straight. Benzo could’ve been flawed and still been gay without writing a slur.
I don’t see why featuring queer trauma like this is meant to be entertaining.
*slumps in seat*
Definitely going to keep reading but yeah.. this was a bummer chapter.
[Edit 28 Feb 24: so Benzo and Sean are different characters. So yeee.. still think that featuring queer trauma for shock value is dumb but other bits don’t stand]
