it just hit me that this is the first season finale that doesn't end on a major cliffhanger

season 1 had the van helsing blood reveal

season 2 had the whole guillermo killing a theater of vampires thing plus revealing to the vamps that he was a slayer

season 3... was season 3 (what WASN'T a cliffhanger!?!?)

and season 4 had memo going to derek to make him a vampire

but the last moment of season 5 where laszlo and guillermo bringing derek back from the dead and that wasn't a cliffhanger like AT ALL

doesn't mean that the finale leaves us with no expectations or things to look forward to next season (guillermo no longer wishes to be a vampire and his relationship with the vamps have indeed changed for the better so it'll be interesting to see where that goes)

it just didn't give us a major what's going to happen note to end things on

and you know what? hot take: GOOD

to me it's a breath of fresh air after two months of chaos

plus idk if my heart could have handled a major cliffhanger

With as good as Justi and Ashton’s relationship is/continues to be, I'm kind of wondering if she was the maybe-romance that Ashton mentioned when asked if they’d ever been in love during What the Fuck is Up with That?

I think the timeline works out. I have a vague memory of Ashton mentioning being in Jrusar for 8 years, and the maybe-romance was 10 years ago.

Ok so starting with the examples you gave me here - Tony is so overprotective to me. Like he doesn't want to admit it but every time his partners interact with others he's always around to watch it ,, it's not bc he's jealous (sometimes it is though. He's the most jealous one of the three but it's occasional) but because he's SO worried all of the time that something might happen to them. That's what living in that house does to you ig

Sketch is definitely the one that makes sure the others are healthy, she's always around worrying about them getting enough sleep and food but when She is the one overworking themselves they have to do the impossible to get them to relax. Usually ends with kisses as a bribe

Colin is the typical "steals your clothes and get away with it bc you think it looks cute" (but then the others run out of clothes and steal them back. It's a vicious cycle their wardrobes are all mixed up) and is Such a fucking tease.
