Psalm 119:105 (NASB). “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”
Revelation 21:23 (NASB). “And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.”
James 3:17 (NASB) “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.”
“An Enduring Light” By In Touch Ministries:
“God's Word helps us clearly see where we are—and where we need to go.”
“Look at a light pollution map on the International Dark-Sky Association’s website, and you’ll quickly see how difficult it is to find complete darkness. But in the premodern world, people spent much more time in darkness. So today’s promise—that the Word can be a lamp and a light—would have had far greater impact before the advent of electricity.
God’s future kingdom is light-filled—“its lamp is the Lamb” (Revelation 21:23). As dim as our world sometimes seems, we need God’s light both to understand where we are and to see where we’re going. That dual sense is present in today’s passage.
God’s Word is a “lamp to [our] feet.” A lamp illuminates the area around it. Likewise, the Bible is essential for seeing and interpreting our emotions, relationships, and circumstances. Our own perceptions may be incomplete or unreliable, but the lamp of God’s Word reveals everything.
We also, however, want to move forward. The Word shines a light on the path, showing us where we’re headed. With God’s help, we may move in discernment, using the “wisdom from above” (James 3:17).
Whether you face difficult circumstances or have a decision to make, let the Word serve as a lamp and a light. You can trust God to help you see more clearly and move ahead without fear.”

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet        and a light for my path. — Psalm 119:105
Insight
To walk safely in the woods at night we need a light so we don't trip over tree roots or fall into holes. In this life, we walk through a dark forest of evil. But the Bible can be our light to show us the way ahead so we won't stumble as we walk. It reveals the entangling roots of false values and philosophies.
Challenge
Study the Bible so you will be able to see your way clear enough to stay on the right path.

"CONFRONTING THE ENEMY'S TACTICS!"
Psalm 144:1, “Blessed be the Lord, my Rock and my keen and firm Strength, Who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight” (AMPC) The main tactic of the enemy is deception. “Deception” is defined as, “the act of causing someone to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid; to trick; to cheat; to defraud; to be dishonest.” And that’s exactly who the enemy is, a deceiver, liar and the…

When it got dark in biblical times, they lit lamps — not the brilliant LED lanterns you can purchase today, but simple pottery lamps, with a single wick and flame, casting just enough light to see a short ways ahead. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your Word is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path.” If we follow God’s will, we do not know what the road will look like in a few miles or years. God gives us just a pottery lamp’s worth of light, just enough to take a few more steps. You have to trust God with that kind of light. “The Lord is my light; whom shall I fear?” We fear the [dark unknown of the] future— but with God as our light, that small flicker banishes the darkness, and we are not alone.

I’ll Take a Cloud…or Two
I’ll Take a Cloud…or Two
I read my “FB Memories” from this day a couple of years ago. Back then I was all caught up in gratitude for the rain, and cooler temperatures and the Fall season that was in the air. This year it seems Summer doesn’t want to give way just yet! I’m in Tulsa right now, and even this seven hours north from Austin, the mornings are cooler, but the daytime, is still very warm. Nature welcomed me as I…
