Okay gonna talk about the Grave Scene. this scene truly lives in my head rent free. I've been rewatching it a few times and every way it plays out is so touching. Especially the way he.. hmm... expresses himself here? There's such earnestness to him that frankly is unimaginable to the person we met in act 1. He really went from being both so sly & yet obviously lying ("[you trusted me...] an objectively stupid thing to do.") to someone who admits and lists the way Tav makes him... feel.... SAFE? and held? and I understand why it's not something a lot of people focus on but I actually am so heart-touched by how complex and intricate his journey to reclaiming sex and desire is at the end of this conversation. None of it is gratuitous. None of it is for show. The blending of the nonsexual intimacy, and openness (the grabbing of the hands, the showing of the grave, the raw admittance of so much vulnerable material he gives to Tav; all things he would never have even CONCEIVED of offering up in even act 2.)

("I've been dead in the ground for long enough. It's time to try living again." ... "With everything that life has to offer.")

It's an extremely nuanced and thoughtful approach to an SA survivor rediscovering & reclaiming what they want to make of their desires, their sexuality, in the aftermath of what was done to their bodies without their consent. It's so thoughtful & beautiful imo. Finally here at his grave, he tells Tav that they're someone he feels safe & accepted with, & he can experience intimacy on both sides with someone who has put forth the effort, the time, the willingness to learn and wait and watch and care for his own desires in a manner no one else EVER has.

("I feel safe with you. Seen. And whatever the future holds for me, I don't want to lose that.")

It REALLY... gets me in the heart here. It doesn't avoid the difficulties of sexuality in the aftermath of abuse, and it ultimately shows one individual's journey toward reclamation and reconciliation with autonomy on their own terms. That's so vital here, that he reaches out, chooses to make the step forward, HIS choice. There's no lingering gratuitously on the trauma, if that makes sense? the descriptions and vulnerability are raw; Tav is grounding person here, Tav gives him room to speak. The true balance of intimacy in verbalizing his feelings, intimacy in being close physically with Tav, intimacy in discerning for himself what he desires, intimacy in accepting touch, contact, affection, togetherness. It's all so... [BITES INTO FIST SCREAMING]. And the ending. Where he and Tav get to set off on another adventure. Get to explore who they are truly now, with each other, without any higher powers looming over and putting a yoke around their necks. I'm personally partial to the "finding a way for you to be in the sun," ending myself but all of them are just ... so delightful. He really SHINES in a way that exceeded my expectations so completely in act 3. he went from totally closed off and locked away and unaware of how to navigate his own personal relationships, no idea what a "relationship," even was, no idea how to express boundary or unravel his complicated ideas and feelings around his body, what it was forced to do for Cazador, to:

("For nearly two centuries I stalked the streets like a ghost while the person I was lay here, dead and buried. Now I need to figure out who I am. What I want.")

also laying a flower on his grave and all he says is "cute." but there's such a minor moment of tenderness there. I weep I wept I will weep.

#I do get why I've seen the interpretation that he's totally sexless after it all & far be it for me to stop people from #interpreting it that way; interpretation and all that; but I personally really love & appreciate the narrative's conclusion here #in which sex is treated as thoughtfully as it can be; real and tangible and /yes/ an avenue of true togetherness beyond #like. getting off. that's not what it's about at all. (and the way this contrasts his post-ritual ending with all the SHOW...) #there's so much genuine intimacy & beauty here both nonsexually & at the end when it's reclaimed like whaahhaahahhahhhhh #it's hardly nonexistent in media for sexuality and SA to be something explored thoughtfully but I admittedly HAVE NOT #seen it explored this thoughtfully in a major RPG video game before. not to this level and not in this way. #SA survivors re-finding bodily autonomy ohhh boy I have. feelings. #sa tw #sa mention #abuse tw #bg3 meta #bg3 spoilers

Oh yeah, i don't think anything have asked this in a while. How's tge Legend of Zelda TTRPG going? Has it been put on hold, have anything interesting happened? Have there been any additions of subtractions to certain elements or lore stuff?

Also did anyone play Yiga and how did that go? And how does it work seeing how they kinda are followers of ganon "betrayers" of the Shieka

It kind of petered out, as most tabletop games do eventually if you don't quite reach the end. It's a shame, but I'm still happy how it went. I've thought about rebooting it some day, but I'd need to change more things since Tears of the Kingdom introduced a lot of juicy lore that could come into play.

If you're asking how the Yiga were handled in that setting/lore? Basically, when Ganondorf was confirmed to have been reborn, the moment the Yiga Clan found out about it, they all rushed to swear fealty to him. Ganondorf was maybe a little surprised at first, but was happy to have a bunch of loyal minions right out the gate. After that, the first order of business for Ganondorf was the earn back the loyalty of the Gerudo, who, understandably, weren't super happy about him being active again. But they were also dealing with some problems from a bunch of demons, so they didn't have time to fight Ganondorf. So Ganon's like "Oh, are those guys giving you trouble?" then he and his yiga boys essentially swoop in and save the day for the Gerudo. After that the Gerudo are more willing to see Ganondorf in a positive light. (This all happens before the player characters rolled up)

Pictured below is the illustration I did of that particular incarnation of Ganon. The mark on his chest is a birthmark.

Ganondorf eventually marries the queen of the gerudo, a woman named Arwa. They have a daughter, Shayla, who is talented at shadow magic. Shayla spends some time learning about shadow magic with the Twili who are also there (a long complicated story).

Depicted below is Princess Shayla.

During that time she meets the current incarnation of Midna, who is a teenager slightly younger than Shayla. She also meets Midna's older brother Noct, who is secretly a reincarnation of Zant but he doesn't tell anyone about that including his own sister because he's ashamed.

Pictured below is Queen Penumbra, Prince Noct, and Princess Midna in their incarnations for that game.

Then later Queen Arwa dies under suspicious circumstances and a rogue demon is blamed for it, but Shayla believes the twili were involved, so she ghosts her friends Midna and Noct because they're suspects.

She recruits the player characters into her investigation. Eventually they discover that Midna and Noct's mother, Queen Penumbra, is the real murderer, and has actually kept Queen Arwa's ghost trapped in a crystal so that she couldn't tell anyone the truth.

The party retrieves the crystal Arwa is trapped in and bring it back to Ganon, who is now in their debt. They (with Arwa's help) convince him not to fly off the handle and immediately try to kill the twili queen. Instead they take Queen Penumbra to court. We full-on had a Phoenix Wright style Court Episode about it. It was amazing.

And that's a small fraction of the stuff that group got up to.

Characters' appearances are extremely important to the narrative of ASoIaF, and not just in the obvious ways like Joffrey's blondness being a dead give-away that he's a bastard. We see multiple instances of a house's colors tying back to it's members' appearances; the Starks (grey and white) traditionally have grey eyes, the Lannisters (gold and crimson) have golden hair, and, my main point of this tangent, the Tullys (red and blue) all have red hair and blue eyes. They are unique in that both of their colors are represented in the traditional Tully Look and, while the aforementioned houses also have meaning tied to those colors (Starks are the "colors of winter", Lannister colors are almost absurdly regal and wealthy), theirs are directly tied to the environment they rule - it's the red clay and the blue water of the river that give the house its colors.

In this, the Tullys are thematically inseparable from the river, its environment, and its fate.

Unfortunately for them, the narrative makes it very clear that war devastates the Riverlands, almost more so than any other region we see - bodies clog the river, forests and farmland are obliterated for sieges, and the wildlife is described with very little diversity (mostly just predator species like wolves) when it is described at all.

At the same time, the Tullys are being killed off, imprisoned, and displaced left and right, a near mirror of how the earth is being handled.

It's important to note that a considerable portion of the environmental destruction is done not just by enemies of the Riverlands, but by the Tullys themselves. It is Brynden, after all, that destroys vast swaths of the farmland, essentially killing it for the foreseeable future. This is the narrative telling us that it's not just the Lannisters or the Freys responsible for their demise, but themselves, as well.

They are a doomed family, and Martin tells us this the moment he tells us that Catelyn has red hair and blue eyes.

Shout out to Fable 2 to having a canon gay character (Rupert) whose father, Giles, was unaware and upon realizing his son is gay didn't go off the rails and instead goes

Like...it's not that hard... to write a situation like that. Without it being 'cringe' or hard to watch. Fable has ALWAYS been a very queer positive game, or ""woke"" if you're lame, since its first game's release in 2004.

I hope the new fable by Playground lets me as the queerest hero with multiple wives and husbands like the other three games.
