Hi everyone, it would mean the world to me if you could spare even a dollar to help fund the animation project of a friend of mine. Their school Ringling produces some AMAZING animators and you won't regret supporting these students. Here's the link for their kickstarter and the vimeo of their school's previous projects:
Virtual Sketch Book 1: "The Throne of the Third Heaven" by James Hampton
1. Hi everyone! My name is Eunseh, but I go by Eric. A little known fact about me is that I am a student at Ringling College of Art and Design, and I am studying Computer Animation.
2.
The artwork, "The Throne of the Third Heaven" is a religious piece created by James Hampton
The work is created based on Hampton's religious visions regarding Christ's return to Earth.
The work is made of inexpensive materials such as old furniture, jelly jars, discarded light bulbs, and metallic foil.
The work is inspired by overlaying beliefs of Christianity and African-American spiritual practices.
Hampton has worked as a cook and also a noncombatant member of the United States Air Force; this is when he scavenged materials to create his artwork.
3. At first glance, "The Throne of the Third Heaven" seemed to be an ancient piece of artwork created in a European Country while Christianity gained momentum as the primary political force. I was surprised to learn that it was created from inexpensive materials by a single person. This realization made me look closer at the piece and now I see hints of the materials that were used such as the creases of the foil. In conclusion, this piece speaks to me through how much dedication, time, and religious belief has been put into it; I am very impressed.
It’s great to see the development of what we consider “professional artists” leading up to their careers. It really gives you inspiration and motivation if you feel inadequate, knowing that you’ll get better.
Mom: I don't mind if you need to stay home after college and look for a job. At least you'll be happy loving what you know how to do!
Dad, not very subtly: I don't want you to be struggling after college and staying at home for a major that doesn't have any jobs. Major in computer science instead.

My lil cat assassin mans :D his inbetweens aren't all done sadly, so I definitely need to finish him this Christmas break! But I hope he and his yarn blanky can spark a smidgen of joy <3
Hey guys! You should check out my computer animation portfolio before I submit it to RCAD (Ringling College of Art and Design).
I would love to hear any criticism or feedback that you all might have to offer. This video includes a few extra pieces than what I plan to submit, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to throw em in. This video excludes any digital work that I have done. I’m hoping to one day actually record my explanations and self-critiques regarding these pieces/sketchbook pages.
