I love anime characters that are so stupidly over powered that normally it would be insufferable but it just loops back around to being cool again. Hak from Akatsuki no Yona. Saitama from One Punch Man. Helck from Helck. Sakamoto from Sakamoto desu ga?. Alucard from Hellsing. It's a fine line.
I was the one who made this back in 2016, posted on my old tumblr account (deactivated due to several reasons) and since then has been reposted everywhere.
apparently I can't accept the premises of comedy anime at face value even though the whole point is to have a status quo to keep the main focus on the comedy, instead of a focus on the plot
saiki k: all the 'world reset' factors and the amount of control he has on the world around him means he is far more alone than the 'haha i hate life' goes. the show is somewhat about his god position without adressing it, but I think it wouldn't have taken him a year to figure out the volcano. I think he was considering wheter to save everyone or not for those six years.
spy x family: loid and yor probably know about what the other does, or at least notices all of the odd things. however the family being the first normal thing about both of their lives, (and probably first emotional connection in many years), they will risk all of that suspicious activity. they don't want to clarify things, they don't even really develop their relationship (ive only read 50ish chapters)(debatable but let me run with it), they just want stability
sakamoto desu ga? : the fatal/chronic illness theory. i got the vibes before reading the essays. look it up if you want
tanaka kun wa itsumo...: honestly i don't really headcannon this as i wouldn't ruin the slice of life bible but i do wonder why Tanaka is like that all the time.
this brings me to isekai quartet which itches this scratch so damn well. idk if anyone dismisses this as a stupid chibi show for kadokawa to sell more kadokawa, but the concept of taking the 'status quo reset' part of a comedy show and making it a mechanic in the plot? brilliant. of course it's stupid but it's also good
