You make assumptions after a night in Dean's bed that prove to be false

Heat was the first sensation that hit you. The heat of a warm body curled up to your back. A strong arm laid across your stomach and warm breath hitting the back of your neck as he slept. How the hell had you ended up in this position when the two of you had simply set out to watch a movie last night after Sam had gone to bed?

You'd been in your room, laid across the bed reading a book Alex had sent you for your birthday. It was pretty good so far but you knew you wouldn't get far in it when you heard Dean singing lightly as his footsteps got closer to your open door.

You slid a bookmark in place and laid the book on your nightstand before your green eyed best friend ever Madeira to your door. You glanced up about the time he knocked “What's up Dean?” He smiled slightly “Well Sammy's gone to bed but Claire sent me a list of the top five rated horror movies. The top two we have on streaming”

A grin split your face “Go get them up, I'll grab drinks and meet you in the TV room” he winked at you “that's my girl” then turned to walk off down the hall.

You let out a sigh if only he knew what it did to you when he did shit like that. That wink, calling you his girl. The way he always invited you to watch movies, go for late night drives or how gentle he was patching you up after hunts. You shook your head to clear those thoughts out, he was your best friend. Yeah he was drop dead gorgeous but you couldn't help that you had eyes. You wouldn't ever cross a line he'd never acted as if he wanted to cross and risk that relationship.

You were sitting next to Dean on the couch, your feet were curled up under you and Dean's favorite blanket was draped across you both. About halfway through the second movie a jumpscare actually got to you and without thinking you curled into his side, hiding your face in his chest.

He chuckled lightly as he tucked his arm around your body “Oh come on sweetheart. I've seen you take on shit a lot scarier than that and not blink!” You looked up at him and stuck your tongue out, trying to ignore just how close your faces were “Bite me Winchester. Real life doesn't bother me because if it can touch me and hurt me I can touch it and hurt it”

He shook his head ��You're something else” you raised an eyebrow “What you mean by that” he raised his hand that wasn't curled around you to push your hair back that had fallen into your face “Beautiful, smart, badass. Pretty damn close to perfect” you could feel your cheeks warm slightly. It wasn't unusual for Dean to compliment you but it always made your stomach flip. “Oh shut up” you pushed against his chest hoping to turn this semi flirtatious moment into a teasing one but damn him if he didn't cup your chin gently and lift your head to meet his eyes before a smirk slipped onto his face “Make me”

You don't know what came over you at that moment. Maybe temporary insanity? Regardless you found yourself moving forward until your lips met his. It was just a simple kiss but something you'd dreamt of for far too long. It didn't take him even half a second to react. His hands went down to your hips, pulling you over into his lap and when the action caused a light gasp to leave your lips he slipped his tongue into your mouth rolling it against yours in a way that had you melting into him.

When you ground your hips down against his and a deep groan left him that was when reality set in. You were currently straddling your best friend, making out with him and damn near dry humping on the couch. You broke the kiss and damn near jumped off his lap. “I am so sorry Dean. I don't…I don't know what was going through my head”

He stood up, adjusting his jeans as he did so and your eyes flicked down to see a bulge that made your legs weak. The look in his eyes, damn how many waitresses and barmaids had you cussed over the years for having that look focused on them and now you couldn't think straight. “I wasn't exactly shoving you off” he replied taking a step closer and when you didn't back up he quickly covered the space between you pulling you into his arms “You're my best friend Y/N. Besides Sam no one on earth means as much to me as you do but that kiss was….fuck…if you want then this never happened. We'll turn on a different movie and nothing more”

“Or?” You asked, feeling your heart leap into your throat. A smirk slipped back onto his lips “Or we could go to my room and talk” “talk?” You repeated and he nodded “nothing has to happen”

When you felt yourself reaching that peak he bit down gently on your neck “Let yourself go baby. I'm not far behind. Every insecurity and what if started to flip through your head. Dean wasn't a settling down type. He didn't like attachments because he knew that put a target on them. He cared about you enough as a friend to put himself in danger. This wouldn't work. Either he'd not want this and feel some sort of obligation from your years of friendship or worse he would feel for you what you truly felt for him and it would end with him getting himself killed to keep you safe.

It took some work to slip out the bed without waking him but you managed it and slipped your clothes on quickly. You needed a shower and to get the hell out of the bunker for a few minutes. You just needed to clear your head. It was supply run day. Groceries were needed and mail needed to be checked. You'd tell Sam to let you handle it. That would give you breathing room.

When you parked your car back at the bunker Sam came out to meet you and help with bags. When you glanced behind him he shrugged one shoulder “Can I ask something that may not only be none of my business but may be uncomfortable too?”

You nodded “We've known each other for a good chunk of our lives so I'd say yeah” he grimaced as he ran a hand across the back of his neck “I heard you and Dean last night so I thought…I don't know what I thought but did something happen? Because he seemed upset that you left while he was asleep”

“Sam, I didn't want to make things weird for Dean. You know my feelings” he nodded “but did you ask him his or just assume?” You didn't have to say anything Sam saw the look in your eyes. “He's in the library cleaning guns. I've got the bags”

You could hear the clinking of metal when you got closer to the library. You stopped right inside the doorway and watched Dean for a moment. The way he handled the guns was a thing of beauty. He could probably break them down, clean them and put them back together in his sleep at this point.

He didn't look up from the colt before saying “You made it back in one piece” you nodded lamely “Dean can we talk?” He laid the colt down and raised his eyes to meet yours “Let me guess where this is going. You had a good night but don't want nothing to change”

You swallowed hard under the intensity of his stare “Can I talk without you putting words in my mouth?” He waved a hand to say go ahead “Dean you're my best friend and I love you, I fell in love with you. Last night was fucking amazing but I don't want to make you regrets things, you don't do love, you don't do relationships”

“because why? Dean's a man whore that just bed hops? Because Dean is incapable of love? Because despite us being best friends for over a decade there's no possibility that I fell in love with you too? There's no possibility i fucking wanted to wake up with the woman I love in my arms?” You flinched at his tone despite your heart flipping at his words “You love me?” He stood up and walked around the table “How could I not?”

You took a step back putting your back to the wall. He stood right in front of you, leaning a hand on the wall just over your head but giving you room to move “I love you Y/N. I'm in love with you. Last night was everything. Now what other demons are lurking in your head cause you know I don't mind taking on each and every one of those sons of bitches”

“What if you get hurt protecting me?” You asked and he smiled “baby I'd do that now but I know for the most part you can handle yourself and don't act like you're not self sacrificing either” you laughed despite yourself “What if you get bored of one woman?” He grinned “unlikely but we can always role play sweetheart. Believe me I mean it when I say you're fucking perfect for me”

“What if…” he cut you off by saying “What if you stop giving me excuses and let me kiss you? Requested: I was wondering if you could write something supernatural with Sam Winchester, what kind of boyfriend would Sam be? Thank you anon, made that as expanded headcanons starting from meeting and going further in the relationship.

1.Bookshops dates

I mean come on, all things considered I am pretty sure you would meet him in the library rather than any place else. And even if you weren’t actually reaching for mythological monsters encyclopaedia or the yearbook of the city from 1456, you were bound to meet at the counter. It wasn’t that big bookshop after all and Sam, with his tall, muscular silhouette was definitely filling most of the space, forcing you to sneak under his arm to get what you were aiming for. Not that you complained, cause he does smell good.

2. Soul longing – as silly as that may sound. Ok listen up. He had women, that’s for sure. But one night stands is only good for so long. And unlike Dean he needed stability from the beginning. Sam is not a player nor a playboy. And as for you? You’re not just gonna jump into the bed of a very handsome, tall and broad shouldered man you met briefly while buying a book, right?

The first time you faked cried he fell for it all the way and never questioned your skills again.

5. Probably making you get an anti-possession tattoo. Just for safety, of course. And holding your hand all time while getting it done, caressing your palm in that special reassuring way. And then kissing it better after, regardless of the place it was inked on.  

6. Funny thing he was hesitant to put a tag on your relationship. At first. Can’t blame him given all that happened to his mother and Jess. But his emotional side finally took over and he blurted something in the middle of an argument.

“You’re staying here tonight.”

“The hell I am, Sam.”

‘You’re not my boss.”

9. Merciless teasing from Dean about stuff that should not ever be his business.

Arguing with Sam is impossible. He always keeps his cool, not letting the blood boil no matter how many needles you gives him. Sometimes it feels like he’s wearing that stupid armour turning into stone just to infuriate you.

But not for long, cause Sammy can’t stand to see you hurt or broken. That’s not him. It doesn’t matter if you started the fight (you’re being reckless, you’re gonna get killed, you need some rest) or he was the part to initiate it (you’re not the hunter, I know better, I’ll handle it) he’ll be all up for communication. Talking through.

Being a Winchester comes with toughness and roughness sometimes, but Sam doesn’t deny having feelings he want to work on. With you.

It’s not a perfect relationship but you’re patching it up with all the best and most resistant fabric.

13. Subtle hand holding while driving on a hunt. You may be in the backseat while both brothers take the front ones, but who cares. The blank between the driver and shotgun is for something, right? And who cares about the gearbox?

14. Forehead kisses and cuddling – you have actually seen Sam right? If that’s not a giant teddy bear than I don’t know who is. Definition of safety and warmth. Just imagine nuzzling into him with those strong arms around you keeping you safe from any demon, angel, witch, wendigo, shapeshifter or whatever else monster might come for you.

15. Steamy make out session in the impala just to get some privacy. Honestly I believe at some point this would be used as a threat for alone time.

"Get out Dean.”

au!bobby is a jerk who wandered off and left mary and now he wants to kill jack? REAL BOBBY WOULD NEVER (but seriously. the bobby singer who raised sam and dean? he would bend heaven and earth to try and find a way to put jack right before he EVER thought about killing him. it is a CRIME that bobby and jack never got to meet because bobby would grump and bitch but he would secretly be like 'yes, another child, hooray' and then teach jack how to throw a baseball and speak japanese)

they put naomi in a cell? never. MY queen naomi would never allow herself to be put in a cell.

erica cerra does such a good job at being unhinged. she should definitely put that on her resume.

jack making that one dude be eaten by worms is... bad. he's certainly creative!

i'm not sure that i agree with sam's narrative of "we always knew that jack was dangerous/going to go bad" because no they didn't! sam was the leader of "make your own choices!" squad at the very beginning. having jack around was like having a loaded gun around: it's dangerous but only in the hands of someone who wants to use it for ill. and of course, dean and sam's brilliant plan only forces jack FURTHER down the unhinged path.

cas is a badass and he will take no shit and i love him

jack is so very proud of himself and cas is so very uncomfortable. he's like a little kid who's just drawn all over the wall in crayon--he doesn't understand that what he's doing is wrong!

cas killing dumah without a second thought because she threatened mary's heaven... that's his MOTHER IN LAW and don't you DARE threaten her!

there's been a weird shift in jack between absence and now... in absence jack was CLEARLY grief-stricken and distraught over what happened to mary--he was flying over the place and he was almost deranged in his attempt to get her back, but now he's almost cavalier about it. he calls it 'the accident' and he seeks to minimize it, and i guess you could write that off as jack trying to minimize his role in her death, but it's also almost like he doesn't understand that what he did was wrong/bad, and he DOES! because one week ago, he understood that what he did to mary was WRONG! i think it's just a case of disjointed writing (and this is a buckleming episode, so dissonance between the characters is expected) but it's a really weird shift.

this is BAD! sam and dean are BAD for what they do to jack and cas is right--they are just another set of people trying to manipulate jack for their own ends. yes, jack is acting unpredictably, yes, jack is dangerous and i understand that, but they took jack's trust and they used it against him, and in the end, that only fucks everything up even more. this is where cas divorces dean. if dean hadn't put jack in the box, then i do think that cas would have taken all of dean's anger and accusations and he would have accepted them as his due, regardless of his actual blame in the situation. but once dean puts jack in the box, then cas FINALLY gets angry at dean. this is where cas starts fighting back, and this is where he's put in the impossible position of choosing between dean and jack. so now dean and cas are both furious at each other and neither one is willing to back down. so we have the divorce arc.

fuck the plot, i want a happy, chaotic sitcom so i can laugh. i soooo desperately want to see the group of cassie lang, yalanda belova, peter parker, and kate bishop. it would be the most chaotic group, and before you say anything about yelanda is a 30-something year old, let me remind you that the avengers age range wasn’t all that close too. it will still be a very cool and chaotic group. it reminds me of this trope of a bunch of badass girls who will kill to protect just some guy, in a platonic way. but in this case the “some guy” isn’t really just “some guy” he’s spider man but regardless. i would want then to be chaperoned by sam and bucky.

A friend (@ripperdoc-is-daddy) asked me for a comfort fic because she was feeling out of place. So for anyone else who feels a little different because of their background, this js for yall.

Warnings - Honestly there aren't any. Maybe a little bit of identity crisis

Summary - Bipoc!reader training with the Dora Milaje feels out of place because she wasn't born in Wakanda.

The bright colors and unique architecture of the markets in Wakanda are beautiful as you pass through them, but you feel detached and out of place. Your brain repeats over and over that you don't belong here. These are not your people. This is not your home. You know better, but you can't help from feeling it.

You walk past booths of various goods like fabrics, spices, even a cute little basket shop but also vendors selling advanced tech and impressive armor and weapons. It was an interesting mix of people and items. You run your hand across a beautiful piece of handwoven cotton before turning around and walking back toward the palace. There was some big to-do about the Avengers showing up today and regardless of how you were feeling you didn't want to miss it.

You were sitting on the balcony of your room when the Quinjet landed. They were the reason you were here so it will be nice to see them again. You watch them offload from the jet and make their way into the palace after meeting with Ramonda in all her glory on the terrace. Little did you know, they were asking about you before they even got past the doors.

You hear voices in the hall a few minutes later "Y/N? Last I saw she was in her room. Down at the end of this hall. She has training later so don't hold her up too long."

There's a gentle knock on your door. "Y/N?"

You get up to answer your door, even though you don't particularly feel like company at the moment.

On the other side of the door is Steve, Sam, and Okoye. Okoye grimaced, "I'm sorry, y/n, but they insisted. I still expect you to be in training on time. Don't let these two cause a problem."

"Yes, ma'am," you nod at her, knowing she'd go harder on you if you were late. She turned on her heels and returned down the hallway without another word. The boys grinned at you.

Steve wraps you up in a tight hug. "We haven't seen you in almost six months, how's your training with the Dora going? Settling in well?"

From behind him you hear Sam interject, "Kicking ass and taking names, right?"

You sigh heavily, wishing you could tell them that everything was great and perfect, but it wasn't. You gesture for them to find places to sit and close the door behind them. Both men sit their shields down by the door, clearly having not even stopped by their rooms before coming to see you. 

"I don't know. I just….feel out of place. I know this should feel like home but it doesn't. They treat me differently. Like I'm…not enough because I wasn't born Wakandan. I'm an outsider. It's…rough. It's nice to see you guys again though. I see there was an exchange of shields while I was gone. Nice job, Cap." You smile and nod at Sam.

"Eh, that old fossil over there didn't want it anymore and dropped it on me. I couldn't really say no," he smirked, "Now what's this about you feeling out of place? We brought you here to train with the Dora because you are badass. You can out-fight half the people in this building."

"I know…I know. I just feel like it's not enough for them."

They walked over to sit on either side of you and wrapped an arm around you tightly. "You will always be enough. It's not your fault if they can't see that yet. The people here are very private and very proud. They just take some time to warm up. You are one of the strongest people we know. Keep your chin high, be just as proud, and they will recognize it. Even if it takes them a minute. I promise." Sam massaged your shoulder a bit before they both wrapped you in the biggest bear hug you have ever felt. "Seriously. Never feel like you're not good enough. We brought you here. If you weren't good enough, we wouldn't have done that, right? So chin up, back straight, March into that training room and show them that even though you weren't born on Wakandan soil…even American black women can kick ass. Knock Ayo on her ass a couple times for me, would ya?" Sam grinned before finally letting you go. Steve holds the hug for a minute longer before doing the same.

"You've got this. You belong here. You belong anywhere. And if anyone says a damn word, they can talk to us or Ramonda about it. Got it?" Steve said firmly.

Somewhere between your laughter and your tears you grin. "Language."

"Ugh…I told them that wasn't going away any time soon…"

I didn't have much interest in the prequel because John and Mary aren't caracteres that I like very much they are badass as hunters but terrible parents ( Jody and Bobby became better parents to the boys). But now I want to start to watch it, because Dean ending was bad and boring, for the members of Team free will only Sam got a decent ending, Dean die young just to writers reaffirm his suicidal tendencies what is a example for fans that dangerous mental health trigger because just show that people with suicidal tendencies can't change mind and choose another will to live. Cas the angel who start the show as a stone cold soldier and turn into someone who understands emotions and even become a father, show his true happiness only to be sucked by the empty and get a name mention in the finale just : hey guys so remember cas? Jack saved him, were is he? Just forgot to tell his family that he is back. And Jack who only is a 3 years old, naive to everything and a being who just wanted to have a family and be accepted becomes the new boss and said: bye boys I won't do shit to you guys anymore, see ya chumps

Jensen really talk to his wife lady and said honey let's get our money power to turn this fanfiction rewrite into a real thing let call the old homies except Jared because if Sam is so happy there so let's just keep him there

Yeah I didn't have any interest in watching it either originally.

I never thought Jackles was going to glorify John and Mary as parents, which I did see a lot of people suggest, but the premise of a show about them didn't appeal to me much. I figured it would house some sort of backdoor escape for Dean because it's obvious Jensen didn't like the finale and had hinted many times about not seeing Dean as dead and bringing him back, but I just intended on following along through the grapevine instead of watching it. However, I kept stumbling upon bronlies (who are, in actuality, very very hardcore Sam stans and J1s who only consider Dean (and often JA) an accessory or a little pet for Sam (JP)). They were being really gross about Dean and how Supernatural is only about Sam, and Dean is just his little pogchamp emote and basically all but saying Jensen isn't allowed to make a show with Dean in it absent Sam because Dean isn't important and only exists to glorify Sam, etc. I got irritated, so I started a countdown 1, 2, 3 and third next post I saw from them being vile little gremlins meant I started watching The Winchesters lol. Then some of the finale spite started coming through and I was invested in figuring out exactly what JA wanted to say with all of it, regardless of whether I'd end up agreeing with him or not.

If you aren't sure if you want to commit to the whole thing or not (not that it's really all that much TV to get through), if your interest is finale spite related, I'd recommend you watch the 9th and 12th episodes.

I actually disagree that Sam got a decent ending in the SPN finale. Of course Dean and other characters got worse endings than Sam did, but the ultimate narrative about Sam painted by the SPN finale is that he is a failure or is deeply, deeply selfish. He was also hamfistedly shoved into a life that he was not interested in anymore, and treated as if that was actually what he wanted all along and Dean had to die for him to get it. (Bronlies don't understand the show, etc). His love interest is replaced with a blurry woman, and his house is devoid of photos of the living except his son who is named after his dead brother. Also that wig was fucking embarrassing as fuck.

I agree about Cas and Jack. I would add about Cas that the finale spit in the face of his sacrifice (and the lack of reunion, even as someone who was never invested in destiel, is absolutely unforgivable to me). I would add about Jack that him ending up as god is extremely disturbing because he and Dean mirrored each other within the trauma of being forced to grow up too fast just to be what other people needed them to be/to survive. To end the show with a three year old who already felt he had to be born as an adult in order to survive, taking on the responsibility of becoming god (and also subsuming and erasing another Dean mirror, Amara, in the process) is repulsive to me.

Wow. Best promo skit yet. "New guy" comes on and everybody's reactions are priceless. Love how Travis, Ashley and Marisha are LOSING IT, Erika's just GOING WITH IT, and Liam and Laura are just like WHAT??!!! Then there's Taliesin being much more slowburn in his cracking up, it's beautiful. And Matt, who must've been in on it, he's finding it nigh on IMPOSSIBLE to keep a straight face.

Silverfox Daryl looks a bit like Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher). Does Sam Porter Bridges have the same eye scar that Daryl does, or did someone edit that in? Regardless, I love the gray hair and wish Norman had the cojones to go au naturel. 🤣 Caryl would look even more like badass superheros if they they both had silver locks.

Hmm, it looks like a tear track to me, not a scar.

I dig the gray too, and I’m all for silencing the fans who insist there's a big age difference between Daryl and Carol when there most certainly is not.

Ok so I watched Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (SPOILERS)

I guess this is Michael Bay’s soft retcon of the Transformers franchise since this is meant to be a sequel of sorts to the Bumblebee movie. Which I did really enjoy. This one was like a 7/10 if I put it all together.

The whole arbitrary angry robot alien coming to take over Earth with his equally angry main henchman doing his dirty work is kind of how all the transformers films go in terms of plot lines so that was kind of whatever. You don’t really come to a Transformers movie for the plot anyhow. You hope for some good action sequences and maybe some fun character moments.

I feel like a lot what of the individual characters in RotB had going on was a lot of fun but the character relationships felt a little lacklustre to me.

Like in Bumblebee you could see the connection between Charlie and Bee but that’s always been something Transformers has done well. Bumblebee is a staple and has often been the main Autobot and so we all hold affinity towards him. He’s the robot we can relate to and is our tie in to the story. Optimus isn’t quite that. He’s more a tie in to the world building, the sage mentor-instructor who expositions everything, and also gets to have his badass leader moments and epic speeches.

But regardless there’s always a really strong human-bot relationship, usually between MC and Main Autobot, which previously has almost always been Bee (I confess I have not seen the Mark Wahlberg Transformers movies).

This time it was Noah and Mirage (I see y’all with the shipping tags, I salute you but for right now I’m sitting in a more bros vibe XD). Noah and Mirage and to an extent Noah and his brother, had the most chemistry in the movie. Each of their scenes had fun, had natural banter, and then they brought down that banter to something sweet and heartfelt and I genuinely felt sad when Mirage “died”. Part of that was because we see Noah and his brother’s bond, and Mirage gets to see that bond, and so we kinda see Noah’s brother through Mirage. And we all know we love to see a goofball who has a serious moment. Mirage parroting back the same words Noah always said to his brother just ties in that bond and makes Noah feel that much closer to Mirage. So yeah the “death” scene was sad. It led to a goofy ass moment where they got Mirage to turn into an iron man suit for Noah and I was honestly like wtf is happening.

But I would argue they were the best dynamic in the movie.

They kept trying to have Noah and Optimus be mirrors of each other but it was a lot more showing not telling. They sacrificed a lot of that good storytelling of demonstrating their similarities in favour of big explosions. If they had axed the exposition at the start, and made the Maximals like a big surprise later on that hey we’ve been here all along and now we’ll exposit some info on you, that could’ve given them a lot more leeway to building those mirrors between Noah and Optimus.

Like again you’re not going to a Transformer’s movie for the story, but I will say the first couple of movies did a lot in the way of demonstrating the chemistry between Bee and Sam Witwicky and why Optimus saw potential in Sam and why Mikaela was drawn to Sam.

Like I could see how Optimus’s personality had subtly shifted. He was still wise and delivering banger lines. But he was also tired, frustrated, angry, distrustful and I genuinely found that so interesting given how we’ve known him in the past. They’ve kind of paired down on Optimus’s visual scale. Like he used to be freaking huge, as tall as buildings. Like Sam was like half the height of his head. Which I do miss. They really make you feel the size and majestythat are the Autobots in the earlier movies, specifically Optimus Prime, who is a living legend by all accounts. But if that means we get more depth to his character outside of knowledgeable and understanding old veteran, then I’m all for it.

And again we see a lot of Noah’s home life but they just don’t quite go far enough to make it home how difficult he has it, and leave a lot to be assumed. But you see enough of how it is and how tough he has it. But then he’s suddenly raring to go in saving the world and yeah I guess they tie that in to wanting to keep his family safe but it did feel kinda abrupt. And that’s definitely a scripting issue. Some of the lines and line delivery was very stiff and uncomfortable. I think the cast tried their best but some of the more heartfelt lines or intimate moments felt very monotone. When it was Noah on his own kinda just reacting to the situation, it felt much more natural. But the exchanges between characters didn’t flow as smoothly as they could have.

That said, we got enough of two characters to understand them. But you can’t pit them against each other as being similar to each other without banking on more dynamic interactions between them or demonstrating how they individually mirror each other.

Like I said. The individual characters were enjoyable enough. I liked Optimus’s tired dad vibe. Noah was a decent MC. But there could have been a few different avenues they could have taken in letting Optimus and Noah see eye to eye.

Show Noah not immediately trusting Mirage and the Autobots but slowly building that rapport. He was taken aback by Mirage at first and then immediately made peace with his presence. Show me how that dynamic shifts so that the sad “Mirage dies” moment feels earned. And while you’re doing that show Noah going out of his way to save an Autobot when he could’ve escaped. Show Optimus placing trust in a human BEFORE the trans dimensional space key thing gets stolen. Then they have the big apology moment where Optimus says he should’ve trusted Noah and yadda yadda big team up moment ensues.

Also just a weird side bar. I’m sure they talked like this in the 90s (I’m a 98 baby) but the part where Noah goes “squad up!” Kinda took me outta the immersion for a second. Also it felt so awkwardly placed. Like potentially adlib but idk. At no point had I seen Noah having demonstrated leadership skills or authority where he can just order around the Maximals/Autobots like that. I mean he wasn’t, but there was no gravity to his words. Like if he had said that to me, I wouldn’t immediately jump into formation. Not to mention it was followed up by really poor line delivery where he said something like “there’s gotta be something we can do. Just think” and it had no urgency to it… then in comes Optimus Primal who delivers his line so much better like “it’s too late” and I’m out here like I believe him.

Tbh the action moments were fine. Could be desensitisation to big scale fights bc we’re so over saturated with them now. The whole iron man suit moment was just goofy as hell and when he somehow managed to catch Optimus and stop him from being sucked away?? Like Optimus Prime. The dude as big as skyscrapers?? The dude who was carried by helicopter??? That part was absurd.

Bringing it back to Bumblebee. I think the best thing they did for this story was to take Bumblebee out of it so that a new Autobot could have his time to shine they wanted this to be about Mirage and Optimus interacting with Noah and they got that chance. Now don’t get me wrong. Even if I knew it was a fake out death, Bumblebee dying made me upset and him coming back brought a lot of joy back to the story. Like we love a comeback moment (cue that song XD). The moment could’ve been a touch more devastating to make his come back more powerful. But it was a lot of fun when he did come back and there’s a reason he’s such a compelling character and a staple fave of Transformers.

But had he been there, it would have taken away from what I have already said to be the best character dynamic in the movie which was Mirage and Noah. It would have turned into another Bumblebee movie. I do like the tie in to the Bumblebee movie and mentioning his history with Charlie. That was cute.

I didn’t mind Alana/Elaina/Alayna (I have no clue how her name is spelt). I enjoyed her most in her initial intro showing her historical knowledge and then she was given some of the driest lines to deliver. Idk if it’s her acting but her dialogue was clunky and uncomfortable.

All in all. Average action movie. Some nice moments. Wasn’t expecting a GI Joe tie in but sure. 7/10

How would you rank all nine OTH seasons from favorite to least favorite, no ties? S3 is my favorite but I have the fairly UO of loving S2 and S5 almost as much :)

1.) Season 3 (It's not close for me. This is easily the strongest season and OTH at its best. The show never came close to reaching the same heights again)

2.) Season 1 (In contrast to later seasons, this was a very down to earth era where everything happened organically rather than for drama or as a response to fan criticism. Watching the first season almost feels like reading a book. It all feels very well planned out and like everything that happens from the beginning is pretty much inevitable)

3.) Season 2 (The most underrated and unfairly hated season. It's literally just about Brucas, right? Even Naley fans admit that while they didn't like seeing their couple separated that the tour made for good angst and drama. But because Lucas decided he wanted Brooke instead of Peyton, oftentimes the entire season is written off even though there was so much solid character work and relationship development going on during this season. Admittedly, the loss of basketball and the soap opera tone particularly with Dan weren't the strongest aspects, but season 2 is far more good than bad)

4.) Season 4 (I have a lot of complicated feelings about season 4 and mostly find myself frustrated with the first eight episodes but once I get past that, season 4 is overall pretty great. The highs pretty much carry the season and make you forget that the lows are pretty terrible)

5.) Season 6 (Honestly, seasons 5 and 6 are practically equal for me. The reason I lean towards season 6 is that season 5 has more off putting plot points and story lines. Like, the Carrie arc. I also can't tolerate the Lucas/Peyton/Lindsey love triangle with Lucas being desperate to get married regardless of who ends up being the bride. It's exhausting, and nearly ruins Lucas's character. Season 6 at least puts a stop to the Carrie arc five episodes in and has Lucas settle down with Peyton. Otherwise, everything going on is pretty solid aside from the Mouth and Millie garbage. Nathan's comeback, the Brooke/Sam arc, seeing Brooke fall in love again, Quentin's death, Naley in general, the small amount we get of Haley's musical aspirations, etc)

6.) Season 5 (As stated before, season 5 is almost equal to season 6 for me. It does a solid job setting up the adult years and reestablishing the characters and their dynamics. Brooke is at her best in a lot of ways. I loved seeing Brooke and Lucas grow close again. Nathan and Haley come out of their separation and marital problems stronger than ever)

7.) Season 7 (It's not my favorite season, but I think both Haley's depression arc and Nathan being accused of having an affair baby are both strong story lines that center the entire show. Alex is a fun, new character, standing out to me over Clay and Quinn. Everything else is mostly underwhelming)

8.) Season 9 (The final season is pretty much carried by the return of Dan, Nathan's kidnapping, and nothing else. Who asked for Xavier to come back? Who asked for fatphobic writing? As cute as Logan was, Clay didn't need to forget an entire child. At least Chris Keller was there and Haley was allowed to be a badass)

9.) Season 8 (It's mostly a filler season. None of the story lines are great. I wouldn't call this a bad season. Compared to later seasons Riverdale, season 8 of OTH deserved an Emmy. But it's mostly just a lot of fluff and plots that don't actually matter. I can appreciate it only because 22 episode+ seasons are starting to become a rarity, but season 8 is no one's favorite or go-to season)

So, as I said in her intro post, Via is the result of a three-night stand between John Winchester and her mother, Anne. They met during one of John's hunts, when he travelled to the small town in Iowa where Anne lived to investigate rumors of a werewolf pack. John left town again before Anne even realized she was pregnant, and her conservative family disowned her once they realized she would be having a baby while still unmarried, but Anne still sent John a letter using the address he'd given her of the house Sam and Dean grew up in (which, despite having, she never used to look for him), to tell him that she would be having their daughter. John made sure Sam and Dean never saw the letter, but he made sure he was able to keep tabs on Via and Anne, despite never replying to the letter or making any effort to contact his daughter.

When Anne dies in a car accident when Via's eleven, John sees this as an opportunity to possibly connect with his daughter (and turn another one of his children into a hunter), but he knows that Social Services likely won't allow him to take custody of her. So he shows up at the foster home Via is temporarily staying in, announces himself as her father (with a faked DNA test and letter from Social Services to prove it), and takes her back to his small house, where she finally meets Dean and John begins to train her to be a hunter.

And Via may turn out to be pretty skilled for her age - she's a really good shot, she's quick to memorize different banishing incantations, and she can even take Dean down in a fight by the time she's fourteen - but she hates it. Hates essentially being a child solider, hates that John can barely even remember her mother's name when Anne still loved him enough to give her daughter his last name, and hates that Dean, despite the nice brother-sister bond they've developed, still treats him like some kind of hero regardless of how much of an asshole he is. Which is one of the big reasons why she's not exactly devastated when she's fifteen and he goes missing after going out on a hunt.

But Dean is hellbent on finding John, and Via hates the thought of staying in that small lonely house by herself, so she goes with him to pick up Sam, the brother she's never met, and head off across the country looking for their old man. Not that Via wouldn't be totally cool if they never found John, but at least she's getting some bonding time with her brothers out of it, so she tries not to complain too much.

She's also a badass lesbian disaster! I'm currently still deciding whether to create another OC to be her girlfriend or not give her a love interest at all, but knowing me I will definitely be creating another OC (😅).

As for Adam, I'm not far enough into the show yet to have actually seen him, but I do know about him! I'm not one hundred percent sure what exactly Via's reaction to meeting him is, but I'm sure it'll be something along the lines of rolling her eyes and muttering about how of course John has more than three kids, she'd be surprised if they didn't have half-siblings all over the country.
