Forget drunk driving Dean. Does he have unprotected sex? Does he give every girl he sleeps with (one per episode) the clap?
Beep boop pk’s memory banks say: Dean has sex four times up to current rewatch episode 4.14. With Cassie in 1.13, with the actress in 2.18, with the twins in 3.01, and with the waitress in 4.05. Sam has sex three times. In 2.17 “Heart”, in 4.09 “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with Ruby, and in 4.14 “Sex and Violence” with a doctor in her office.
Pk’s memory banks from previous rewatches also return one instance of the clap, when a witch curses Sam with it in 5.07 “The Curious Case of Dean Winchester”, and one instance of Sam being forced to say “I have genital herpes” in 5.08 “Changing Channels”.
Also see this exchange in 7.13 “Slice Girls”:

Tumblr media
it was late, like really late. sensei larusso, chozen, and lawrence had made classes go way over then they were supposed to and then hawk and miguel just needed you to go grab something to eat with them.
you didn’t mind though, you loved spending time with those goofs, but they wore you out.
you joined the miyagi-do/eagle fang dojo with robby earlier in the summer. he had convinced you since you weren’t going to deal with silver’s bullshit. you didn’t miss cobra kai one bit, but there was someone you missed.
that person? was tory.
due to going to separate dojos, you had a falling out and it lead you to break up. it hit you hard, you wouldn’t talk to anyone do anything for days on end until robby checked up on you. you missed her a lot, and you hadn’t see her since miguel’s party where her and sam got into an argument. you tried to chase after her, but she had gotten away before you could.
you had just gotten out of the shower, putting on a clean pair of pajamas shorts and one of tory’s old t-shirts you never gave back. you wouldn’t dare give it back, it’s one of the only things you have left of hers.
walking into your room, drying your h/c hair with an extra towel, you let out a sigh. practice today was tiring, most had been recently. thank goodness your parent’s weren’t home for the weekend so you could have to whole house to yourself.
you almost didn’t hear the frantic knocking at your door, but you did. it made you jump a little, who in the world would be knocking at this hour?
you slowly crept downstairs, the knocking still going. “i’m coming, i’m coming,” you mumble to no one really.
making your way to the front door, you let out a slightly shaky breathe, reaching out to turn the knob and slowly open the door. you opened the door excessively slow, peaking out until you released who was standing in your doorway.
“tory…?” you muttered.
she looked up at you, slightly teary eyed. “hey.”
“tory! what are you- uh. what are you doing here?”
the blonde let’s out a sigh, looking around outside before looking back at you, “can i come in?” she asked.
“yeah, of course-,” you start, before noticing her knuckles, which she had been rubbing gently. “oh my god, what happened to your hand?”
“that’s what i came here for.”
“okay, uh… follow me.” you say, getting out of her way to let her in, shutting the door and leading her to the kitchen.
she sits at the counter, watching you grab an ice pack from the freezer and hand it to her. she rests it on her knuckles.
“so…,” you rock back and forth on your heels, “what’s up?”
tory let’s out a shaky breathe, “my whole life is a fucking lie.”
you quirk an eyebrow, “what.”
“everything is a lie. i’m living a lie. silver paid off the refs at the all-valley last year. cobra kai cheated so i could win against sam.”
“tory- slow down, i can’t keep up. silver paid off the refs?”
“yes! and it’s been eating me alive for months. i wanted to get back at him so bad. i’ve been visiting kreese in prison and all he’s been telling me is lies! i’ve been telling him everything for nothing! i feel like a fraud. my life is a living hell, i’ve lost all of my friends, and more importantly; you.”
you walk up to her and kneel in front of her, looking up at her. “hey, hey, hey, you haven’t lost me,” you say, “i’m not going away at all. we, miyagi-go and eagle fang, can help you. they went to stingray earlier. he basically admitted that silver assaulted him. he’s too afraid to go to the police.
“i knew silver was involved, i just didn’t think he did it with his own hands,” she said quietly.
“yeah, but we don’t have anything to prove it.”
“if it happened at the old dojo, maybe we can..”
“really? are you sure?”
“yeah, but can we not talk about this right now. i need a break for at least a night. can i stay here tonight? i don’t want to be alone.”
you nod, “of course, you don’t even have to ask. just tell me one thing; what happened to your hand?”
“they made me break pure stone, y/n, but i couldn’t. until they brought up our break up… then bam! instant break,” she said, voice breaking at the end of her sentence. “i regret breaking up with you so much. i miss you.”
your heart broke at the sight of her sounding so weak and broken. “hey, it’s okay. it’s okay. those people are sick. i miss you too, and maybe once we go through with out plan, we can try again okay? when we broke up i was broken, but i want us to try again, please.”
tory nodded, “yeah, i’d like that a lot. the worst thing about cobra kai was losing you and i refuse to let you go that easy.”
she placed a chaste kiss to your forehead before you giggled, standing up. “we’ve gotta keep this a secret for a bit, how romantic.”
“this is why i won’t let you get away too easy, juilet,” tory gave you a smile.
“come on, let’s go upstairs romeo. we’ve got quality cuddle time to make up for.”

Good Stuff: Best Movies of 2023
Tumblr media
This was NOT a great year for blockbusters, huh? This was probably Disney's worst in years, multiple flops including what was meant to be their centennial anniversary film. It looked remarkably by the numbers, but think of the conglomerate's losses... Anyway, this to me was a pretty great year for films. Like 2022, I'm amazed at the variety we got that says more about the shifting tides of people's interest in movies. It was the most times I've been to the theater. We got a big worker's strike over the summer, especially large push back against degenerates trying to push AI to do more than just shitposting. And it was enough for me to know Adam Sandler, Godzilla, and Hayao Miyazaki could get the better of Disney. With this said, let this be a first for Good Stuff and count down my favorites of this year.
12. Renfield
Tumblr media
My suspicions were on the money and I'm glad I gave this a shot in the theaters. Cage was the best Dracula I could've asked for in what you might say was an Adult Swim-esque dark comedy. It definitely has that style of gruesomeness and humor given Robert Kirkman and the Writer/Director behind Moral Orel made this. Unfortunately, Ben Schwartz stuck out like a sore thumb even if he fulfills his purpose in this, reminding me of Christopher Mintz-Plasse in KickAss; I feel he or Jason Schwartzman would've been better suited. Plus it can feel all over the place, an identity crisis that you can't even grasp after it finishes. Then again, I just had fun watching and would gladly rewatch for Cage and Hoult who are the highlights of this.
11. Migration
Tumblr media
Call it blasphemous, but I enjoyed this more than the Mario movie. It's essentially Rio mixed with National Lampoon's Vacation, with a lovable cast, solid animation, and an eazy breezy road trip story. I've always looked to Illumination for simple enjoyable romps and I got what I expected here. Gave me Amphibia vibes in a way, replace frogs with birds. Everything surrounding the villain is my only real issue, he was an obvious and very nothing bad guy, but it's overall better paced than Super Mario Bros where it felt like you watched an eternity in 3 minutes. Still don't get the air of folk looking down on this for just being serviceable when it's honestly become my favorite Illumination movie next to the first Despicable Me.
10. Killers of the Flower Moon
Tumblr media
Sad to say this is the weakest Scorsese movie for me, mainly because it felt like we're following the wrong main character. Lily Gladstone is incredible in this, among the other great performers, but she felt sidelined in favor of DeCaprio and De Niro's perspectives. It's like if in 1995's Casino, we just follow Ginger throughout the moment Sam introduces her. I liked the turmoil Leo's character goes through, but it paled in comparison to Mollie who was more affected by his and Hale's actions. That does not mean it's all bad. This can be a beautiful, dynamic, and ruthless movie that just made me feel bad for watching it; running with the words "harsh reality" throughout the 3 and a half hour runtime.
9. Good Burger 2
Tumblr media
I watched Good Burger 1 & 2 this Thanksgiving weekend, and just had a blast. These are the kind of movies that are charmingly stupid but not insultingly so. Kel Mitchell's Ed is emblematic of how much dumb fun this duology is where he's actively comical but not smoothbrained to ruin your time. This I say is like Home Alone 2 where it is just beat for beat the 1st movie with minor developments but that doesn't really matter when it's just as well put together. It never feels like Kenan nor Kel missed a beat and the drama not overstaying its welcome. It is just "Good Burger Again" without it feeling like diminishing returns compared to other rehashing sequels.
8. Leo
Tumblr media
Can you believe this got better publicity than Disney's Wish? Even YMS could appreciate this movie, that's how you know Sandler has his recognizable game when you least expect it. But Leo is a surprisingly good comedy that has actually sincere moments. Being Happy Madison's 2nd ever animation, it's like Adam waited to refine the production as opposed to putting a cash grab together like one would expect. It's not all good, especially trying to be a musical, but seeing it once you'd be impressed how much good it does with the risks it takes.
7. Nimona
Tumblr media
Like Migration, everything surrounding the villain is the one big issue I have with this, especially when it comes to affecting the film's message. At the same time, she pales in comparison to the dynamic pairing of Ballister Blackheart and the titular shapeshifter. Nimona is my favorite character of 2023, her energy and confidence matched by the struggle she bears existing alone and the facade made to band-aid it. Her and Ballister's journey alone made me glad this got out of development hell, being Blue Sky's final production posthumous. To me it wasn't about being a take that to Disney, it was about the fact a movie like Nimona got to exist as great as it did. Hoping Stevenson is satisfied with their adaptation, because it definitely earned its flowers.
6. Emesis Blue
Tumblr media
Offhand, it openly sucks that Letterboxd refuses to let this stay on the site to log, but it can't be overstated how much of a marvel this was. Repurposing not just the characters, but the lore and mechanics of Team Fortress 2 into a feature length horror thriller. The animation's top notch where it can have godly framing that was on par with the known legends of horror film making. SFM animations can be beautiful on their own, shitpost or otherwise, but Emesis Blue goes a step beyond by having a compelling story fitting for the universe on top of, again, every frame being a painting.
5. Shin Kamen Rider
Tumblr media
I've never really saw any Tokusatsu shows. Not that I hate the genre, just could never get into it while recognizing the glorious looking chaos found in clips. Knowing Hideaki Anno directed was what got me into seeing this film and it opened my mind quite a bit. This was the legacy film that definitely had Anno's touch in both the action and drama. While the climax can notably drag, you never feel left out of what was essentially the original Kamen Rider's origin story. It doesn't have the complex VFX of stuff like Marvel, but the costumes and fight scenes makes me wish we got more of this in America beyond Power Rangers.
4. TMNT Mutant Mayhem
Tumblr media
Advertising before release really didn't make this appear like a promising film. If there's anything I learned from this year though, appearances can be deceiving. Like Nimona was for her movie, the creative choices for this made it the TMNT movie I never knew I wanted. To me this felt akin to the Lego Batman movie where it's not only a good love letter of the franchise for more than its fanservice, but this spin on the characters is able to have a new sincere view of them without overhauling everything about the TMNT. That and it has the greatest needle drops I've had in a long while like how do insert He-Man Fabulous Secret Powers and expect me to hate this?
3. Godzilla Minus One
Tumblr media
I call this a great year for films because it marks the first time I got to see a Toho produced Godzilla, with subtitles, in an real movie theater. Needless to say, it felt like I got to enjoy the 1954 film again anew. Not a remake mind you, but the parallels were uncanny and this spins here work just as well, if not more here than with the original in a couple places. Both are still strong movies nonetheless. Minus One is a refurbish that dishes out what people always wanted and uniquely giving a little more while never sacrificing why the OG is that timeless. With it getting more than a limited release, I'm glad this got to be more than a niche celebration of the kaijuu king.
2. Oppenheimer
Tumblr media
This film's been meme'd to heaven, hell you could say it got meme'd to success thanks to its dual release with Barbie, but it didn't undermine getting hooked to watching this anyways. This really has become my favorite Nolan film, a compelling biopic that doesn't exactly herald its titular lead in the best light thanks to the paradoxical storytelling. Oppenheimer gives us the largest ensemble I know, and delivers in the most breathtaking moments I never knew I could get. Cillian killed it among the many who made the three hours of people sitting and talking in rooms actually tense and intriguing to thread. Plus it gave us the beauty of Josh Peck being the guy to detonate the test bomb like cherry on top of this cinematic cake.
1. The Holdovers
Tumblr media
I remember watching Alexander Payne's Sideways with Paul Giamatti as a high schooler but couldn't appreciate it until rewatching this year. It's one of the best mid-life crisis comedies you could see, still fresh in its easy going presentation and music. The same can be said for this film, made to feel like it came from the late 70s or 80s with the old opening logos that I didn't think you could do in these times. Out the gate, this was the holiday story I was shocked would be as relatable as it was, with the trio of Giamatti, Randolph, and Sessa each having their story that resonated with me strongly. With the right amount of time, Payne offers an remarkably cozy, down to earth movie where from reserved to outgoing, it did a lot for me emotionally. Like Netflix's Klaus, I kinda want this to be a traditional rewatch for the holiday seasons. One that everyone should try at least once, especially if they feel the disillusionment of the season where this might lift their spirits one way or another.
If there's anything to learn from this year, it's that the meta has definitely shifted. Even when the many on my list didn't make billions like the Avatar films, the variety and risks made spoke more than the big dogs like Disney and WB putting out unprofitable blockbusters that ranged from very by the numbers to you don't need to see The Flash to know how god awful it just was. More people are & should branch out beyond the major mainstream names. Not that the big dogs aren't ever gonna make great films in the coming years, but we should appreciate more than the big budget features you can tell are playing it safe. Time can be patient for great cinema, sleeper hits or not, so take advantage while you're young.

i need to stop getting attached to shows with only one season out because why is season two always such a let-down
#i did get attached to stranger things when it only had one season remember rip my stranger things sideblog (late 2016-early 2017)#i watched season one of euphoria three summers in a row and then season two came out and i was like what the hell#yeah yeah i know sam levinson's awful (i started hating him before anyone else did honestly before season two even started airing. i#watched assassination nation in 2020 (very bad movie very bad ending) and then malcolm and marie when it came out and was like#oh that's not...) and all the sex scenes whatever...season one was GOOD no one will ever change my mind about that#yk how ali tells rue that jules is her new drug or that she's addicted to her or whatever that changed my life a little i was like ohh this#is me rn actually. with the homoerotic teenage bestie. whatever#and it's not the same kind because it's not weird in the same way but season two of yellowjackets is such a disappointment like i cant#see myself rewatching it (and loving it the way i did s1) and yes season one had to grow on me a little and it wasn't perfect either but#just. idk#i wish i liked it more it made me so sad when episode 3 came out and i didn't like it (episodes 1 and 2 weren't INSANELY good but i didn't#not like them) they never really got me back after that even though there's been episodes i liked since like idk i just had to lower my#expectations and that just makes me sad#i'm over it now (over the disappointment) but yeah that one post about how they're trying to stretch the story out is the most accurate#critique of the show ever society if they had planned for the show to have like three seasons#and like i say: brf slt

rewatched the fellowship with my dad and it got me thinking about sam and frodo’s relationship.
sam—who’s been frodo’s gardener for who knows how long—going on a life-or-death adventure with the man he’s looked up to his entire life. sam’s had a crush on the cute, brown-haired boy who sits in his garden to read, who puts homemade pies on the windowsill to cool, the boy he believes will never feel the same way about him.
frodo, who watches the sweet, shy, blondie tend to his rose bushes and daisies every other day from the window in his room. never failing to notice the way sam flushes a pretty shade of pink whenever their eyes meet. frodo, who’s uncharacteristically sad at the start of every winter season and uncle bilbo can’t figure out why. frodo is practically jumping for joy when sam returns next spring with an armfull of plants to replace last season.
one fateful summer’s day, not a cloud in the sky to be seen. sam was working away in the gardens as usual, trimming bushes and pruning flowers, occasionally picking a few for a steadily growing bouquet. soon, morning became noon, and the sun had grown hotter than before, leaving sam sweating bullets.
“sam, why don’t you take a break? come inside, it’s hot out,” frodo offered through the window, elbows leaning against the frame.
the boy jumped, startled by frodo’s sudden appearance. “oh, mr. frodo! no, i’m fine, thank you. i haven’t finished cleaning the flower bed yet.” looking up from his work, sam was starstruck. a ray of sunshine illuminated frodo’s soft features perfectly. frodo’s pretty blue eyes shimmered like the color of the sky, framed by reddish-golden highlights popping up in his chocolate brown curls.
“sam? sam? are you okay?” the poor boy must’ve been staring, as frodo was waving a hand in front of his face to regain his attention. “let’s get you inside, it’s much too hot, yeah?”
sam nodded and stood, walking around to the front door. when he made it to the kitchen, he was greeted with a premade mug of his favorite tea and a tall glass of water. frodo had a mug for himself as well.
frodo looked at him with a sheepish smile, hand rubbing the back of his neck. “i already made it before i asked. thought it’d be best to have it ready and waiting, rather than having to wait for it.”
“thank you, mr. frodo. it—it means a lot that you thought about me.” sam downed the water eagerly, finishing it quickly. “didn’t realize how hot i actually was.” he smiles at frodo sweetly.
frodo gazes at him from behind his mug. “well of course i thought about you, sam. you’re my friend, aren’t you?”
“friend?” sam’s heart nearly leaped up out of his mouth and into his tea. “friend, of course.”
the couple sat at frodo’s kitchen table drinking their tea and snacking on the various foods they found in the cupboards. laughter echoed throughout the home, cute giggles pairing beautifully with one filled with wheezes. even after the snacks had gone and their mugs have dried up, they continued to enjoy one another company, eventually migrating to the living room.
sam felt like his heart was gonna beat out of his chest. they sat on the couch together, his leg pressed against frodo’s. “this was fun, thank you, mr. frodo.”
“sam, sam, please, just call me frodo,” he giggles softly, a smile still gracing his soft features. “makes me feel silly, like i’m your master or something.” frodo’s hand slowly inched its way closer to sam’s, almost inconspicuously, if not for sam’s hypervigilance.
he nodded, smiling back at him. sam blushes when frodo’s hand bumps into his. he curls his pinky around frodo’s, causing the other hobbit to blush too.
maybe he does feel the same way after all.

Sam Winchester and Crowley
So, I’ve seen a few posts about Sam and Crowley lately and it sparked something I had been thinking about on rewatch number 🤷‍♀️ of the show. Everyone talks about Dean and Crowley's "summer of love" (Sam, you salty bitch (affectionate)), and I get that. I enjoy Dean and Crowley shenanigans as much as the next girl, and I really enjoy Crowley as a character, and Mark Shepherd is fantastic. But, like, Crowley is a total piece of shit to be honest and the guys really shouldn’t like him or trust him.
In Season 9, before the Dean and Crowley "bromance," the Sometimes King of Hell totally tries to bond with Sam first, bringing up how they shared something while Sam was working on curing him during the trials. He WANTS to be friends with Sam, or bond with him at least, and Sam is like, "LOL, No." And to be honest, I love him for it. Part of me feels like Crowley even went after Dean, besides for his own purposes, to piss Sam off for shutting him down. It’s only when Crowley literally dies to try and help Sam and Dean (unsuccessfully 😢 ), that Sam finally gives him some respect, after he is dead. And I am totally fine with this.
I’ve seen people say that Sam should stop treating Crowley badly in Season 9, but he is literally a demon who has done hundreds of years worth of really evil crap, including killing babies for their uvulas, killing Sarah, killing other people that Sam and Dean have saved, almost killing Jody, unfairly sending Bobby to hell, manipulating Dean into taking on the MOC, and being generally untrustworthy almost all of the time. Sam is right not to like him, and I’m glad he never really does. Also, I just like watching them antagonize each other, as well.
Anyway, that’s it. Sam never likes Crowley, and I’m here for it.

Rewatching Jump the Shark
Welcome to “Adam is the New Dawn Summers: A Supernatural Rewatch Blog” with Lor and Mace!
Up today, s4e19: Jump the Shark
The boys answer a call on their dad’s old cell phone, and the caller claims to be John’s son. FRAUGHT. They go to meet him, Sam ready to see what’s what, Dean *certain* that this is some monster laying a trap. But all signs point to Adam really being John’s son and therefore the boys’ younger half brother. Adam’s mother has disappeared, and while Sam and Dean try to find out what happened to her, the three brothers have all manner of moments of strife and snipe and hurt and grump. (Dean is especially grump.) Turns out, whoops, that Adam IS a monster (a ghoul) laying a trap, but the ghoul has taken the form of the real Adam, who is very dead but was also very much Sam and Dean’s brother. Ooof.
Below is a log of our real-time reactions as we watched. Remember that there may be spoilers for any part of SPN’s 15-season run here. Note also that the nature of our conversation is adult and thus it may contain adult language and themes.
 [and we begin:]
Lor:
oh fuck off, John
jeez, Dean
Mace:
sammy brushing his teeth is hot don't ask me why i don’t make the rules
Lor:
"but I'm hungry now" me and Dean are the saaaaame person
LOL it is adorable
Mace:
HA
Lor:
omg Sam also has mouthwash
Mace:
YAS
Lor:
our poor boys
Mace:
yeah
dean is PISSED
Lor:
yep
and underneath his anger iceburg is a whoooole lot of hurt
Mace:
yeah
don't just throw the silverware on the floor, Dean, you’re better than that
Lor:
right?
I will forgive him a lot right now, but still
Mace:
poor Adam
Lor:
yeah
"a car fell on him" DEAN
Mace:
“a car fell on him”
you’re being a turd
Lor, slap him upside real quick
Lor:
yep. we've crossed over into "no pie for you"
nah he enjoys that. and then I get all....
Mace:
yeah right, you would never
Lor:
yeah, I wouldn't. not enough that he'd feel it
Mace:
i meant deprive him of pie
Lor:
oh that.
I meeeean. maybe for a minute or two
what diner has real silver on the table?
Mace:
Lor. we just watched Dean switch them out and throw the diner’s stuff on the floor
get your head in the game
Lor:
oh yeah! I was... distracted
oh Dean, honey
Mace:
oh man, Dean. poor thing.
 his head is near asploding
Lor:
yep
and his heart
Mace:
admit it, Dean, your dad was a DICK
Lor:
as if he could hate John more AND dammit he'd thought the man had run out of ways to hurt him
YEP
oh DEAN. he needs a hug. maybe he should pray to Cas
Mace:
that’s the problem - i don’t think he does hate john and he really needs to
Lor:
well not enough anyway
Mace:
he hates himself for not being a better son instead of blaming john for being a shit father
Lor:
sloppy, John, getting your pic in the paper. terrible hunter
oooof YEP
Mace:
so this is going right into the I Must Be a Shitty Son because He Loved This Kid More
Lor:
ooooof
see, he needs pie
lololol Dean

Since I suppose I’ll be tracking some of this from now on, some rewatch notes about alcohol up to 4.14 (where I am rn).
Sam and Dean start out as casual drinkers with a rather normal relationship with alcohol. Starting with Sam in season 2, we begin to see drinking used as an occasional coping tool. I want to mention this because I think there’s a tendency to think Sam and Dean (usually Dean in particular) are exceptionally heavy drinkers from season 1 episode 1 and onward, and that simply isn’t true.
I haven’t been making any specific notes about alcohol up to this point, but I recall these instances of the brothers being drunk up to 4.14:
In 1.19 “Provenance”, Dean is implied to have gone out and partied the night before and to have a hangover. He’s also shown specifically in the passenger seat the next morning, sleeping it off. Sam was with him at the bar the night before but working on a pattern at a table, so easily served as designated driver.
In 2.11 “Playthings”, Dean finds Sam drunk in the hotel (this is where the “you’re bossy and short” line happens) because he feels responsible for Ava’s disappearance and is coping with worry about becoming a monster. Sam throws up in the toilet the next morning.
In 2.15 “Tall Tales”, we get two different perspectives at a bar. In Sam’s memory, Dean and a woman named Starla were both drunk or working up to it. In Dean’s recollection, they’re both sober.
In 3.10, Dean enters a bar to find Sam drinking morosely because he’s given up hope of being able to save Dean. Sam appears a little drunk.
In 4.09 “I Know What You Did Last Summer”, in flashbacks, we see Sam is drinking very heavily to cope with Dean’s death. In fact, he seems to spend most of the early flashbacks in an inebriated state. He’s absolutely wasted when he tries to make the crossroad’s deal, and he’s also stumbling drunk in the next flashback (presumably right after) when gets into his motel room. He meets Ruby there and she orders him to grab his keys because they need to leave now. The next scene is Sam driving with Ruby in the passenger seat. This is the only incident of drunk driving I can think of so far in my rewatch.
In addition to these instances, we do see Dean take a shot in 4.06 to cope with ghost sickness (liquid courage if you will) and in 4.08 after waking up from a Hell nightmare. In neither case is he shown to be drunk and in neither case is he driving. He runs off on foot in 4.06, and in 4.08, he was holed up at the motel.
Feel free to comment if you remember some moments from 4.14 or prior. I’ll add them.
