Even though Byler is endgame, there's still gonna be a lot of ups and downs in this fandom for the next two years.

So please, let's not dwell over things said at Cons, only to overreact and decide that we've lost. Otherwise, you're better off just going on a hiatus for the next two years, since this back and forth is not going to stop anytime soon. This is because doubt is extremely necessary for both sides to stay engaged!

They're either queer-baiting or straight-bating. Regardless, both of those scenarios involve basically feeding both sides, until one side has too much confidence and so they have to give the other side some hope to keep everyone going, until the very end. If things around here seem too good to be true, strap in, because doubts are just around the corner to even the score.

The most obvious reason they have to do this is because we're dealing with a mlm ship, with 2 main characters who started out young on the show. Like, it's so shitty, obviously, but this is the most watched show in the world, running on 80's nostalgia, which means most definitely a majority of their overall audience is homophobic (intentional or not), which is why the only way they could go the Byler route in the first place was is if it wasn't official until the last season. Luckily, slow-burn is an awesome trope, so it's not like they're even wrong for going about it this way. I think it's actually going to be pretty epic.

But bylers seriously need to be more realistic with their expectations. We also need to realize that, even though promotion for season 5 will probably involve heavy Byler placement/coding in regards to Mike and Will's characters, similar to season 4, I think there will still be some doubts up until we're actually watching s5 on our screens.

Better to just accept it now, Byler will NOT be getting together in the first episode of season 5, with established relationship fluff for the rest of the season. It's not happening. I know that's what everyone wants, but that's what fan-fiction is for!! Television just doesn't work that way though. The 'will they-won't they' is the whole appeal of most endgame ships, and that means drawing it out for as long as they can.

Absolute best case scenario, I could see us getting Mike and El breaking up once and for all after confronting each other about his monologue, along with Mike fully realizing the extent of Will's feelings, all by the end of 5x02. I could especially see this happening in combination with Mike discovering everything in regards to Will that he has overlooked this last year, because he was too busy trying to suppress his own feelings for Will, ie.:

The painting actually being from Will. I know a lot of bylers are convinced Mike knows for sure that El didn't commission the painting. But I think ya'll are grossly underestimating this whole concept of Will lying to Mike here. It wouldn't make sense to put all this emphasis on Will lying to Mike, for the first time, if Mike didn't fall for it. The reality is, he fell for it because Will never lies to him. Whenever he doubts Will, for example, when Will tried to tell him El was lying to him at Rink-o-mania, Mike said, "bullshit!", only to be proven wrong literal milliseconds later. He's learned his lesson this season not to doubt Will's honesty. So, it makes sense for him to sort of dismiss what El said about the painting in the letter, because his and El's relationship is built on lies, whereas his and Will's isn't. TBH I think Mike was just mesmerized hearing the exact words he wanted to hear from Will and all from Will himself, so there's these moments during Will's monologue where Mike's reaction is just so genuinely shocked and happy, because these words?? are coming from Will??? But I think his feelings in the moment, overshadow his ability to pick up on it in a way that allows him to fully realize Will loves him.

Will loves him. This will instantly explain Will's behavior to Mike as of recent, which was coming from insecurity of rejection, and even more importantly, Will losing him all-together (just like Mike was scared of).

That Will put his feelings aside at every turn to encourage Mike to work through his relationship with El, even though it meant Will putting himself last.

That Mike said, the day Will went missing was the day his life started, in front of Will. (Because if you honestly think Mike knows Will is in love with him and Mike returns those feelings, but still said THAT right in front of him... why do yall still ship them exactly, bc that's fucked up... Like that alone proves to me Mike is still pretty clueless when it comes to the extent of Will’s true feelings. I firmly believe when Mike realizes, his whole world is gonna shift and we’re gonna see it happen. And we haven’t yet… so…)

That the entire confession Mike gave to El was based on Will's feelings, and that the comfort it brought him, with Will's constant encouragement, is what allowed Mike to follow through in the end.

This feels so inevitable, in combination with everything else piling up, but it's likely we'll get an awkward moment where Will finds out about the party playing dnd a lot since he left. I could see it come up when they talk about Eddie's death and Mike finally finding out and mourning. I doubt Will is gonna be mad, he'll probably be bittersweet, like, "I'm used to it by now, it's no big deal, I promise guys," sort of vibes, because he has said he thinks he deserves to be mistreated (Mike: No no no no no! You didn't deserve anything!). So it makes sense that Will would just take this as another blow like it's nothing. Which is why I think this is going to affect Mike a lot, because he's discovering all of these things that reinforce in Will's mind that he's a mistake and no one cares for him. Also because I think the final straw that'll crack Mike completely, is that....

He and everyone forgot Will's birthday!!! And Mike will circle back to that day, re-living it and everything he said/did. And it's gonna hurt. Because he’ll know now that whole time, Will was in love with him!!??? Yes. I am a 'Duffers are lying their asses off about forgetting Will's birthday' truther because, them going out of their way to joke about not remembering the last time they rewatched s2, when there were countless parallels to s2 in s4, is all the proof I need. And I also think all this angst built up against Will is going to make his (and everyone's) happy ending that much more satisfying.

There's just so much potential for angst when it comes to Mike realizing Will's feelings, along with all these other details. And I could honestly see all of this coming to a head in early s5, because they have said the first two episodes of s5 take place directly after s4, so it makes sense that we’ll get the payoff of Mike finding out during that time, since that storyline wasn’t really resolved in s4. But when it comes to actual canon Byler, that will take some time...

At best, I could see an interaction that heavily implies endgame Byler in 5x05 at the earliest (I know that's a popular theory because it follows a pattern of big moments between them in past seasons, and so I could genuinely see them being able to build it up from there, going into the end). This would also allow at least 2-3 episodes of the audience getting to see Mike be fully aware of Will's feelings, without Will knowing that Mike knows and returns those feelings. I think it's necessary for us to get that pining from Mike's POV, with Will being oblivious and so it makes sense for them to put endgame off, at least for that.

This would also allow promotion for season 5 to keep the revelation of Byler endgame in the dark for the most part, until season 5 premieres.

Tbh, the whole appeal of Byler is that their story has been developing romantically this whole time, but that most of the audience missed it bc of heteronormativity. And that's what's going to make the big climax of that storyline be more worthwhile in the end.

When it finally happens, and it's officially confirmed, it will be the end. And people will inevitably go back and rewatch the show from the very beginning, all the way up until the end and go "Oh.?!" That's what’ll make the build-up worth it for everyone that’s willing to see it for what it is.

Of course you can torture yourself for the next two years. And I know many of you will (myself included). But I just had to rant about these doubts realistically at least once, even if only 20 or 100 or a thousand of you see it, I hope it'll give at least a few of you some more confidence about what's to come, even despite some understandable disappointment.

But to be clear, I do still believe in Byler endgame. It's not going to be all sunshine and rainbows the whole way, though. But after all, isn't that what the end is for?

So for the request I was thinking of a little bit of an AU where, at the party, they have an argument about Sam, but James Storm's off to talk to him anyway and Isaiah doesn't see him for the rest of the night as the regular events of the episode takes place

When Isaiah, Jane and Isabella find him he's more worse for wear then he is in the show (concussion, broken arm, gonna leave it up to you ^^) and when Isaiah helps him up and out of the hole he was thrown in he admits that, with the way the two of them left off, James wasn't sure if Isaiah would even look for him

They reconcile and Isaiah takes James to get checked out at the hospital and something to eat afterwards, and that's where my ranting ends lol 😅

Author's note : Tbh I'm kinda surprised anyone even saw my other Goosebumps (Disney+) fic cause, at the time of typing this out, the fandom still hasn't been canonized on AO3 lol but I am very happy to pioneer the tag for it 💪 Hope this suffices as a request fill. Also keep in mind that, at the time of writing this, I still haven't watched episode 6, so (while I doubt any of this stuff will specifically come up in episode 6 since we're well past it by now) if anything is inaccurate due to context in that episode, just keep that in mind.

"I just don't think you should be lying to him about liking something if you're tryna get closer with him" Isaiah told the shorter boy. James scoffed and rolled his eyes. Isaiah was supposed to be proud of him for finally making a move on Sam, not scolding him for the iffy way he went about it!

"You don't get it" James replied, glad that everyone around them was drunk and not really paying attention. "I really like this guy and I don't wanna mess it up"

"And you think the best way to go about that is to start on a lie?"

"I don't get all the chances you do, Isaiah!" James said, exasperated. Isaiah leaned back, confused.

"The fuck does that mean?"

"It means that you're a conventionally attractive straight dude" James went on. "You have the entire pond of fish to pick from. I'm limited to about five dudes. Honestly it's a miracle I even like one of them"

"Look, all I'm saying is I think that-"

"I don't need your advice, Isaiah" James cut him off, annoyed. He stood up and began to walk away. "I got this. Just leave me be"

James really wasn't doing well.

For one, his stomach hurt (a mixture of hunger pains and the pain that naturally comes along with eating/drinking dirt water for sustenance) really bad. His left arm had also been broken at one point by one of his duplicates, and his focus was just on not dying in that mine, though that seemed hopeless.

Isaiah wouldn't want to come look for him, not after the fight they had last time they spoke, and no one else was as close to him as Isaiah, so they wouldn't want to waste their time looking for him, if they even realized that something was wrong to begin with (it didn't take a genius to figure out that he probably had some duplicates taking his place in the real world).

Then, Isaiah did arrive and promptly smacked him in the head with a rock.

James saw stars for a moment and was sure that he had a concussion or something, but that was hardly his focus at the time. No, his main focus was that Isaiah was there. Isaiah found him. He'd be okay.

After all the duplicates were killed, James was helped out of the mine and back into town.

Margot and Isabella seemed to get the hint that James wanted to talk to Isaiah one-on-one, so they walked a little bit ahead to give the two of them space, which James was quietly grateful for.

"I didn't think you would look for me" James admitted, his speech slightly slurred (something which tipped Isaiah off to the fact that the boy probably had a concussion).

"Why wouldn't I look for you?"

"Hm?"

"Why wouldn't I look for you?" Isaiah repeated.

"We got in a fight" James shrugged. Isaiah felt his heart break. Sure, that argument hadn't been fun, but something like that would never prevent him from looking for the other boy should he go missing.

"James, I care about you so much" Isaiah told him. "A little fight isn't gonna change that. Friends fight, it happens. You matter to me more than that"

"Oh"

"Now, let's get some food in your stomach, and then we're taking you to a hospital" Isaiah said, patting his friend lightly on the back. "I think you have a concussion, and also your arm is definitely broken"

"Yeah, you're probably right" James chuckled. "We can be broken arm buddies!"

"Sure, bud"

Idea : thoughts on Daisy Jones and the Six and why the love triangle worked for me.

It made think on Djats. 

It finally lets me put into (mostly) coherent words what I thought about both CamiBilly (Camilly) and DaisyBilly (Daisylly) while watching/reading. Thats why i LOVE both. 

The post says that, and i quote : 

"What's the difference?" I asked him. “Between the love of your life, and your soulmate?""

“One is a choice, and one is not."

Billy may be a mess (totally IS), thats why i LOVE him, but i'm digressing...I get him!! Whats better the LOVE of you Life or your soulmate? 

There’s lucky people who finds one or the other, and never gets exposed to both at once (like Billy was) .

There's some others who never find any of them…Thats okay too, your biggest love should be YOURSELF (single Life IS awesome, i'm happier single than in couple,TBH, i'm more Karen Sirko) 

But, and that's when trouble begins, others are like Billy, and find themselves between  ice and Fire , or as my Abu (RIP) said (in spanish):

Está atrapado entre dos tierras…y al final no podrá respirar = he's trapped between two lands, and in the end he won't be able to breathe. 

To me Camila IS and Will Always be Billy’s love of his Life , because he actively has chosen Camila, both in book (better) and TV (not as good, but good enough), Camila IS the one he wants to be with. She is his choice. He loves her to the point of selfdestruction aka the relapse in TV show, when he thinks she has left him in the last episode. He thinks himself broken without her. 

On the other hand we have Daisy…To me Billy loves Daisy too, with every inch of him.

Fuck, even the lovely ever wise Camila acknowledges It (in book, the series did a huge disservice to her by erasing her discourse my fave in the book):

"He loves you, i know that he loves you, you know that he loves you...but hes not gonna leave me" (sorry for any possible mistakes, i read it in my native language spanish, not english, so Its a rough translation).

But… he denies It, because she IS just like him… and he cant admit/choose to loving Daisy, someone Who IS like him…Because at that point hes an addict (that doesnt act on It) but an addict nonetheless , once you are you'll always be , in the story he hated himself.

Billy and Daisy are soulmates (in spanish Its almas gemelas, like twinsouls, but in meaning more like soulmates really) because they hadn't chosen each other…yet they can't avoid their situation/ passion (and remember : passion is a also a synonym of pain) 

They dont choose each other…Because theres no choice at all for them. 

Billy has always had the choice that doesn't make him “broken”, the choice of love : Camila.

And in the end, when he manages to not be broken and only after losing his love, he can choose, from a healthy stand in life, to be with her soulmate (Daisy) and to turn her into another love. 

But that quote is right : Love IS a concious act of choice. Soulmates arent…It is someone whose soul calls to you, like a syren chanting in the shore, and that can be good…or -like syren chants were in legends-  a curse. 

To conclude: I dont get Billy hate at all, i didn't get It when reading the book, and later with the series casting Sam Claflin (my beloved) It didn't help at all for me being objective.

Billy's situation was difficult …His options nearly imposible. He was crying in that Taxi for fucking reasons, you all. In choosing love, he has to deal with the consequences: he loses his soulmate . Also hurts everyone (himself, Camila and Daisy) in the process. 

You find that easy to decide?? What would you choose LOVE or SOULMATISM? (I may create a future poll with this question)

I write about a character per day

Day 20: Viney (Finale)

Healer. Beastkeeper. Anarchist.

How many things I can say about a character who had her fair share of 2 episodes with 4 more in the background. Oh boy let's go.

Alright getting this out of the way, and the only time I do this because it's Viney. As my favourite character of the show and 2nd favourite of all time (behind a water witch), I want to headcanon so many things for Viney. She's aroace, because everyone is aroace until proven otherwise :P. My favourite ship to Viney is Luney, in a platonic way, that I would like it even more if I didn't know about Lumity too early. She's an engineer in both biology and chemistry. She opens a veterinarian clinic for mythical pets, while also studies medicine and other methods of healing.

Okay, I gotta admit I like Luney more because of Viney being too awesome and their first interaction were pretty cool. Viney has healing and beastkeeping, two of the most underrated coven of the show. Healing potential looked quite awesome, as she even used a shield made out of the coven sigil. As a diehard fan of Steven Universe, I loved that moment so much.

Beastkeeping may have destroyed the class and got her in detention, but who cares, Puddles is the coolest friend a veterinarian can have. And it is so nice that she chose Healing with Beastkeeping, specifically to heal all the pets she got.

I'm going on a limb and say this. Viney is the perfect successor of Eda, maybe with less rebellious intent than her last generation. The tunnel she used? Eda used it before. The Troublemakers Wall? Eda is the Queen. Viney looks up to Eda, as the pioneer of anarchism in the school. Baby Anarchist Viney is so incredible and I love it.

Viney's outfit is also torn like Eda, in fact her uniform is actually more unique than any other students. Her shirt pin points out, unlike other students, her shirt was torn in a way no one does that. And of course the hook earring. My baby anarchist is so determined to rebel.

Side note: I can take a whole day just talking about her hook earring.

The hate between Viney and Jerbo really is incredibly funny tbh. She just decided to hate him. And when Jerbo joined the other time, she just saw all hell broke loose, gave him that death stare in the eyes. That's just awesome lol.

The First Day is her debut, and also her best episodes (so much injustice for my baby). The idea of using a griffin as an assistance is cool enough, but property damage and multi-track studying got her into trouble. Oh hey, just like Luz heh. One day in and Luz already was in detention with the troublemakers.

Having to live in the shadow for a while, with not many companies on her side, she developed a lot of skepticism. Which is why she was so mad at Luz when she saw Luz's friend coming, thinking Luz is above the troublemakers, or that interaction with Jerbo. But when Luz was in need for help, she and the students that the school deemed as troublemakers have saved the school, and forced Bump to change the law for multi-track studying. Eda might be the pioneer, but Viney and co are the revolutionists.

Her next appearance is in Hunting Palisman. No comments here, I just want to appreciate this moment. Very mystical manticore for a very mystical girl.

Any Sport in a Storm is the episode with her iconic "Now I'm only scarred emotionally". Despite having more screen time, she still doesn't have that much more lines, she was outshined by Hunter and Willow. She's now a member of Emerald Entrails, she got along well with the team, and her powers got stronger. Good for her, good for her.

And of course the group selfie.

Labyrinth Runners is when we see a bit more of her. And Puddles' second battle. Not as successful as the first, but it's precious enough for me.

The last episode she had a line in was For The Future. Again, very brief moments. Although she got a new drip with the scarf. It's a scarf, alright girl. A moment when my kin (Willow) met my favourite (Viney), it's so incredibly precious.

Her finale design is so cool. She got long hair, cool outfit, but the hook earring must stay. And she was helping in erasing the sigils.

Ted Lasso 3x3

Good lord. This episode was like being on the Scrambler at the fair. You know the one, you sit in the little seat at the end of a big arm like a spoke of a wheel, and the central machine spins steadily, but because of the position of the arms, and I don’t know, physics, you kind of get flung from point A to B, then B to C, then C to A again, but it’s a slightly different A than before, a slightly different spot, and it goes fast and your surroundings are blurry but then there are little moments when you land at each point where the movement pauses and you can see clearly, just in time to propel someplace new again. 

The Scrambler was always my favorite ride. I’m too chickenshit for huge rollercoasters, I get irrationally angry (terrified) if upside down, I don’t want to be splashed with water, etc., but also I’m not a baby. I liked being disoriented. And I think I really liked this episode. 3x1 and 3x2 were both awesome and I was cruising along feeling very aware of what show I was watching, and tonight I was absolutely watching the same show but the fucking great needle drops and the whole weird energy of the thing left me—to overdo the stupid metaphor—scrambled.

I can’t believe my last pre-s3 fic included Ted having bad feelings about Precious Moments figurines in a rental house and then it turns out actual Ted’s actual mom collects them!

(Weird bullet to start with? Well, I feel weird!)

The boys (adult men who coach AFC Richmond) just want Julie Andrews to boss them around and punish them. I get it. 😌

Ola’s! I’m so excited for Sam and I love the vibe of his restaurant and I love that he’s getting to do this communal, home-oriented endeavor that connects him to so many things about both Nigeria and the UK right as his football club is becoming a cult of personality. 

Everything with Tish was so unsettling. I love that Rebecca was trying desperately to play the whole thing for laughs, but then it was genuinely chilling. I have so many (strong) feelings about Rebecca and motherhood, and I’ve felt this whole time like it was incredibly important to her character’s journey that she is never going to be a mother, exactly, even though I’m just a human girl and I would love to see her stepmommin’. But tbh I am HERE for seeing what happens precisely because she was angry about the premonition, she didn’t bite back her feelings, she called the vision cruel. I’m going to need to rewatch and listen to every word that Tish says but I am! Losing! It! 

Zava is great as a device and I’m loving that Jamie isn’t having tantrums but is instead using his words (to great effect!). He’s standoffish but he isn’t being a total prick. And I’m very :eyesemoji: about these early morning trainings with Roy, and, you know, what purpose Roy is going to find there beyond helping to mold Jamie. I really like that most everyone else is very much not immune to Zava, and I like that there’s a logic to that—they’re winning, they’re thriving, they’re a surprise success story. 

I am obsessed with Ted’s obsession with Dr. Jacob and how he’s continuing to call him Dr. Jacob. I completely get why it’s so upsetting and bewildering. I would be a basket case. Also I think there’s something incredibly perfect about the terrible foot they start off on (restart, anyway), with Dr. Jacob doing the stupid Trump impersonation and just really putting his foot in it. I guess there could have been worse ways to choose to answer the phone, but it’s difficult to think of one! And Dr. Jacob might not get much screentime, but we get so much—the cringiness of the realization it’s Ted on the line. The cozy homey Kansas kitchen. The busy lived-in domesticity, interrupted. And then he’s in this fugue state for weeks, obsessing, and there’s Sassy. I kinda love that he tells her up front about Michelle and their ex-therapist; they clearly haven’t seen each other in a long time, and that’s the first and only news he thinks to tell her!? Yikes. 

Shandy! Yes. (And Roy wanting to do the interview. HELP.)

I have every feeling in the world about Colin and his boyfriend. I absolutely love—I mean, I hate it for him, but I love it for this story—that he’s seemingly secure in his sexuality in terms of understanding who he is, and is closeted because of the world he lives in. Colin and his absurdly noticeable car and hiding in plain sight among the casual gay jokes of the world he lives in. My heart was in my throat over Trent seeing them. My hope is that we’re going to get confirmation that Trent is also queer, and that all this is going to have something to do with the book he’s writing (hopefully in a good way rather than a horrific way!), especially since the audience hasn’t heard Trent pitch his book project and we really don’t know much of anything about the kind of story he’s looking for. TIME WILL TELL, I GUESS. 

I’m sure there are a million other things, but to be entirely honest my entire brain is just the words “shite in nining armor” over and over and over again. Maybe my brain will come back online tomorrow, or maybe it won’t come back until May 31, or never! Goodnight!

Late to the party but just finished Alchemy of Souls and I have the goofiest smile on my face.

Firstly, it was such a nice experience waiting for every weekend just to come here and see everyone sharing their thoughts and theories here after every episode. Gotta love how welcoming and cozy this fandom is. It was a pleasure to rant about the characters and reading others rant as well.

Also, those of you who spend so much of your time creattthe gifs: YOU ARE THE BEST AND I HOPE YOU ACHIEVE EVERYTHING YOU WANT IN LIFE I LOVE YOU.

This show was an emotional ride, especially season 2. I would have liked to have a few more episodes, not because they didn't wrap up things nicely, but because I'm not ready to say goodbye lmaoo.

My general thoughts on this episode hmmm. Well, despite knowing it would be a HE I still spent half of the episode blinking through tears and blowing my nose.

The wedding was absolutely perfect. Jang Uk was perfect. Cho Yeong was perfect. Everyone had a great development and a perfect ending. IT REALLY DID END WAAAY BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.

This story made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me clap like an excited seal, broke my heart in a million pieces and then glued them back together and kissed it tenderly. After all the pain of the last few episodes, now I fell warm all over.

I'm glad Uk and Yeong got their happily ever after, I'm glad Master Lee was on their side, I'm glad Lady Jin chilled, I'm glad Go Won is sitting on the throne, I'm glad Dang-gu and Cho-yeon and Kim Doju and Park Jin got to be together.

But above all, I'm glad for the ride.

I began this show with incredibly low expectations because I usually don't like kdramas. I was constantly waiting for the disappointment and boredom that always comes, and instead I ended up finding a wonderful story and even more wonderful characters.

I braced myself waiting for Uk to become yet another insufferable ML, who's unnecessary mean to the FL and driven by his emotions, as the story tries to tell us that that's what romance is. What I found was one of the best written characters I've ever seen, so gentle and full of love and despite the tragedies of his life.

The same goes for Yeong. She was an awesome FL from beginning to end, flawed and perfect at the same time. I could write a whole thesis on her tbh but I don't want this to be long.

Their romance will go down in history. It was beautifully tragic, but it was all worth it in the end, they got their hard-earned happiness at last.

this one is a free shot SO I’m going to dive right in with something definitely controversial – I actually enjoyed the Rings of Power show! With caveats because I’m not insane. In fact, the first couple of episodes are what made me reread the silm and get into the fandom in the first place, for which reason I’m very grateful.

Things I like about the show: the location shots are very pretty, Númenor looks gorgeous. Elrond is very precious and I love his friendship with Dúrin (not a huge fan of the oath-swearing though especially how he totally broke his oath but everyone was acting as though he kept it??). Elendil is awesome. Isildur is a whiny brat but kind of sweet at the same time so I’m fine with that? Although if they call him “Isil” one more time I may stab someone. Most controversially, I like ROP Galadriel – or rather, I don’t like her, which is a good thing. She’s ridiculously proud and prickly and imperfect, which is much more interesting than the pure and wonderful moral centre she’s sometimes portrayed as.

Things I didn’t like: the pacing is terrible, it makes no sense to forge the three rings first instead of last, the Harfoot storyline is dull and pointless, for some reason Galadriel is treated by other characters like an annoying child instead of the immensely old and powerful member of the House of Finwë she is, the mithril subplot is so stupid. Among many lore inaccuracies, the one that bugs me the most is that for some reason every elf speaks Quenya? Even the Silvan elves?? Thingol is rolling in his grave??? (Actually maybe that’s a good thing tbh I support most things that annoy Thingol)

Things I can’t forgive it for: WHAT DID YOU DO TO TYELPË. This one is particularly egregious bc when I watched the show I barely knew anything about him and didn’t care! Then I read more about the Fall of Eregion and I was like. my baby. And they ruined him!! He’s just kind of this vaguely mean and vaguely stupid guy! And the whole Annatar storyline is gone so ???

Overall, though, I’m very grateful that watching the show inspired me to get back into Tolkien and actually join the silm fandom! And, despite my reservations, I’ll watch season 2.

Oh lmao I guess you saw my twitter post about that? Well yeah! I did! In fact, a good chunk of Megamind fans went together as a fandom meet-up! In case you needed any proof:

(I don't remember the artist of the Megamind keychain, sorry. I bought it off etsy ages ago :D;;) But I also regret to inform everyone that I had a Nice Time at DashCon despite the shitshow I learned about it while there and after leaving it, but mostly because the fandom group I was with was, er... actually competent and good at planning in ways that don't fuck folks over? (minus ONE person but that's not my story to tell tbh) But it was a nice, chill small con with interesting panels and a pretty widely diverse group of nerds all there with their nerdy friends being nerds. Like literally I can't complain about it. One of the panels that was mocked on Tumblr by name alone was run by my friend Dani-Kin and was, actually, a GREAT panel, which was running over time because people didn't want to LEAVE it. I was also at an 18+ panel that security came into to pull someone (apparently underage?) out of, and Tumblr made a huge deal of that too as if the con was somehow just ~allowing~ that to happen. Basically it was a nice little con crowd-and-panel-wise and from just a casual visitor's perspective, I was fine. I've been to way worse panels at bigger cons, like Midwest FurFest, tbh. (I'm looking at you, panel about "asexuality" that was trying to reinforce the idea that asexuality is strictly sex-repulsion, which it is NOT, but I'm grumbling off-topic here.) The rest of it was a shitshow that I managed to mostly dodge by hanging with my friends, but something about last-second begging for money happening at the con and people just handing over their cash to help without any receipts or anything. There was also a HUGE group that I wanna say paid extra for a live episode or something of Welcome To Night Vale that got shafted because the con apparently didn't pay the WTNV guys to be there when they agreed to, so they bounced and fans waited in line for quite a while, waiting to see them. (I can't blame them for choosing to fuck off when they did, they didn't know if they'd ever get paid and that's pretty shit.) BUT the Megamind fandom group I was with was awesome, we rented out two of the large suite rooms near one-another and bounced between them to hang out and be loud and obnoxious together and meal-planned and stuff and it was all-around a good time, for me. It was also that con I discovered that I was in love with Vamp, who 8 years later is my fiancé and we live together! My partner (hi, poly) Dal also got engaged to his husband in Megamind cosplay there and like, it can't get much cuter than that. I sadly did not see the ball pit. However I did pick up my badge in the room the ball pit was IN, and it's a MASSIVE room, like impressively massive, like you probably could park airplanes in it, which makes the ball pit look even smaller than it was, apparently. Good times. (Oh and I also found a random new yellow DashCon staff shirt which I've squirreled away in a box somewhere cause I thought it was hilariously telling of the state the con ended up in. I assume the person who left it was fed up, as it was pretty far into the con's chaos when I found it.) Idk if this is the kind of answer you wanted, anon, but the TL;DR is I had a good time because my group was awesome, and while some stuff was exaggerated for cringe clout on The Tumbles or whatever there was a lot of terrible shit also which I entirely dodged due to fucking off with my group when it happened, like the scrambling for funds last-second and such. Maybe someone else from the DashCon Megamind group can weigh in on that stuff! Sometimes when we end up driving into Schaumburg I see the old con hotels and look at it fondly now, tbh. The hotels we stayed at are next to the closest Ikea to me, so we end up there now and then. :3

I often feel like I'm dumb because I just idk I think simpler(??) than other people, like I guess I'm not as critical but (and even though I'm going to continue thinking this about myself I will now proceed to tell everyone else:) there's nothing wrong with just liking something (*sped up tv commercial voice* as long as you liking that thing isn't hurting you or others in some way) just because you think it's cute, fun or whatever, you don't need to write a 50 page essay on pros and cons and compare it with a bunch of stuff y'know, does anyone know what I'm saying!? 😂 there is no this is bad and this is good stamp on things because everyone enjoys different aspects of different things and have different preferences. I dislike marvel movies and think equestria girls is one of the best things ever, does that make stupid? no! does it make me smarter than people who think the opposite? no! it's simply makes me a person with preferences, different people seek out different things in different media because different things have different meanings to different people, and that's okay! some people love to pick apart and analyze every aspect of a show and look for deeper meanings and lore and while I too can appreciate things like that sometimes my main reason for liking something is does it make me feel happy and do I enjoy looking at it and listening to it? and both of those ways of enjoying something is valid! 🧡

Peso is genuinely confused why Barnacles was asking him of all people to read the manual. The other crew members would be much better for the job because they're stronger and have more experience. But Barnacles asked Peso. He knows he can do it.

If Barnacles thinks he can do it, Peso will try. And you bet he read that book for the entire time before the world started blowing up and he had to go do doctor things.

Barnacles gets special treatment because Peso doesn't wanna lose his Role Model #1. He's on his own now. No one to help him except for the Vegimals but we all know they're not much help in this situation.

Barnacles got this psychology thing going and Peso's like "what does that even mean??" and completely ignores it, but then it gets him thinking:

This is Peso's big break moment. This sets the scene for his entire character for the rest of the show. Realising he's actually doing something that's inside his comfort zone is relieving and means that he can do it.

He's proud of himself and he knows Barnacles is gonna be proud of him too, and he's so glad that everyone is safe despite the fact that everyone he loves is dying under his care /j

Barnacles got to watch Peso actively overcoming his fears and saving literally everyone on the ship. Peso's entire character arc happens in this one episode, and Barnacles is so proud of his little boi.

No need to be modest babe we all know you're awesome.

Anyway that's the end of this analysis, it wasn't as good as the last one and I've seen better ones on this episode (which of course I cannot find when I need them for inspiration)

i wanted to do like overall thoughts posts for the last 2 batches of episodes but i never had the energy after watching them so i just didnt do it but i Really want to with these last two because Wow!!!!! spoilers duh

ok so episode 5 is definitely my favourite between the two!! as well as the overall feeling being awesome, it had so many moments that made me laugh (although episode 6 did as well) and also some of the songs were actually catchy ESPECIALLY the last one in the actual performance. and oh my god the whole thing with harriet and joan is absolutely the cherry on top i love them SO much the part where harriet said she lied bc she loves joan and then that being expanded on in the next episode…. their relationship is seriously so interesting to me they both want nothing more than to make out for it to work out and it makes for such good arguments and even better apologies. i admit i was REALLYYY scared for a second there when it actually kinda seemed like harriet and jfk really liked eachother so the scene where they actually saw wtf was going on was a huge relief and im glad in the end (well for the next week) everything is back to normal and no one’s friendship is tainted.

Okay, like, Matt’s been in AH videos BEFORE he was even hired. Wasn’t the first Minecraft we saw him in Griffball? And everyone in AH immediately liked him bc he smacked Gavin? Like, we as a community knew axialmatt, and were excited when the guys played one of his maps! And then he and Jeremy (AH fan artist AND fan fiction extraordinaire) get hired to do their DREAM job! And I hate to say a good chunk of the community took a LONG time to warm up to them (especially Matt, but Ray leaving soon after they were hired I think really threw a wrench in things too), but eventually they got comfortable and clicked into their places in AH, and it was like they were there the whole time!

And especially recently, Matt specifically has been KILLING it! He’s so creative, and funny, and his humor is sarcastic and dry, but he’s GENUINELY so kind, you can just tell. Like, this sucks, everyone’s pissed, WB are burning their company to the ground and idk if RT has any way of getting out of there, but they really need to, bc this is only the beginning.

Challenge Accepted and the Randomizers are, imo, the best content in AH right now. I even watched the Raft series, even though I have no interest in that game, bc Matt kept me there! Shark mage was the best! I love the rest of the cast, I really do, but at this point in AH’s life, Matt and Michael are def my fav members. It just sucks, I’m taking it better than when Ray left (I was a damn mess through that;;), but maybe that’s bc he’s still PT? We’ll see how long that lasts, I’ve really been enjoying seeing him in Chilled’s Among Us lobbys, and if he had more time to devote to streaming, he’ll prob hang out with that crowd more, which would be awesome tbh.

Does anyone know if he has a YT VOD channel? I have a thing, I don’t know why, but I don’t like watching livestreams. They make me anxious for whatever reason;; So VODs are a lifesaver for me, so please let me know if you know! 🧡

And yeah, that’s my jumbled thoughts on the matter. WB is ruining RTAH, and it sucks to see, and I really, really, really hope they SOMEHOW get out of that company. Easier said than done, I know, but it just sucks to have had to see all of the obvious change they’ve had to go through since they were put under them, and are still going through. AH cast and content used to be so colorful and bright and happy, but as much as I enjoy how they’ve matured, and still have fun together, the contrast from the past, more care-free AH is drastic. The past however many years, it’s just noticeable how dark their spaces have been, like, it’s kind of dreary looking at them compared to, let’s say, their tiny OG office. Like, that room was always so full of life! And their past few spaces have just been… sad looking.. and also, they’re not quiet about scheduling. Matt and Michael talked about how Sarah had been breathing down their necks for like, half the Wind Waker randomizers bc they were taking too long, and every time they brought it up it bummed because out, bc I HATE they’re being rushed to make content! Idk who thought a Zelda randomizer was going to be less than like, 8 episodes anyway! But that just suggests to me they’re not enjoying playing the game as much as they could be, bc they’re being bitched at about it behind the scenes. Plus other random, too-businesslike things I smell just bc I’m an employee of a big business, and like, I can TELL they don’t have as much freedom as they should have, and it sucks.

like, I really don’t like getting into the “AH was better when it was just the OG cast 😤”, because those people annoy me (I don’t know why they just don’t stop watching if they just complain every video how they hate current AH? But that’s a can of worms I don’t want to open), BUT I do hate what big business has been doing to them, I hope Matt settles into the path that is right for him, the AH members someday gain their freedom back, and WB burns in hell. It’s 3:30am, I got a bit off track with this post, goodnight.

After seeing more information come out, Big Yikes, looks like RT has been shitty even before WB sunk their claws in. I know back in 2013 they would make shitty, offensive jokes and call people babies for being upset when they were called out on them, but as I said before, one of the biggest things I’m thankful for is the vast majority of them [AH] have matured, and realized slurs aren’t funny. The community still, for the most part, gets on my nerves for MANY reasons, but I never get too into any kind of community anyway (so I can actually enjoy the media I’m consuming). All that being said, this looks like the beginning of a real big garbage fire, and I just hope all the good RT/AH people find their way to a happier life, and all the shitty assholes get what’s coming to them.

Second episode done!

Really loved Annabeth's character, just, the energy of being the one with a plan and figuring out stuff meanwhile everyone else is like "What?" until the last second and it clicks. Leah you knocked it out of the park.

Luke! Gosh he was such a good one, loved the older mentor helping out the new kid. Laughed a little at some of the mishaps going on with Percy at the archery range, and the forges too. He really seems like the guy you'd trust, showing you the ropes and such

Grover being told not to tell Percy about the possibility of his mother being alive was a good one actually, it makes sense Chiron and Mr. D would know what a mortal turning to dust means. Also a hint at the Council of Cloven Elders was a nice touch.

The bathroom scene! Heck yeah that was a good moment of pause when the water went down, and then FOOSH there it went. The immediate introduction of Annabeth immediately after plus the convo was a fun one I will say, I liked this version better than the books tbh.

And then Capture the Flag. Wow that was awesome. The woods were huge, and not going to lie but I really wish I could play a game once. Looks fun unless you're Percy and Clarisee is after you. Speaking of which, that fight was awesome! Loved the stakes behind it, Clarisee not caring if Percy gets hurt and all, her SPEAR WOW that was cool. Over all loved it.

I will say the giving of the quest and Grover revealing the information that Sally might still be alive felt.... a little rushed? Maybe that's just me but the urgency involved in the books put a little boost behind it, here it was more.... "Hey so you gotta go solve this quest otherwise the world will end." (I notice that I am comparing the books to the show a lot and I apologize) but really that's the only eh bit, everything else was spectacular.

I am very easily pleased in case you haven't noticed but yeah, the next episode looks to be the kids going out of Camp Half-Blood and starting their quest, Ms. Dodds attacking them and oh whoa okay, Medusa's lair is very different this time round.
