My favourite fun fact about Paris architecture and like the Haussmanian re-vamp that Paris got is by far the fact that the streets were specifically designed to be wider so that people would be unable to build barricades-
Like there's something so funny (funny is not the right word here but I cant find a better one) to me that people building barricades is such a genuinely legitimate concern that when they re-modeled the city they designed it specifically for it. like-
