WAIT WAIT WAIT HOLD THE FUCKING PHONE
So normally we only get fullblown, extended and dedicated flashbacks for heroic characters in One Piece, the characters who we're meant to root for. The literal only TRUE exception we've had to this rule was Big Mom's flashback. Even fucking Doflamingo's flashback was tied to Law and Rosinante's
So the fact that we haven't gotten a single fucking GLIMPSE at Crocodile's backstory is?!?
Tumblr media
Like sure, we haven't gotten like a Moria flashback, but you know, he literally told us all we needed to know himself, AND we got to see glimpses of him in the Wano flashbacks. Arlong didn't get a flashback of his own, but he did get to cameo in Fisher Tiger's flashback. And Rob Fucking Lucci got a flashback that was 6 whooping panels long
BUT CROCODILE?? Not only do we know almost Fuck All about his story, but also have never gotten as much as a glimpse at it? But his backstory has been HINTED and TEASED at multiple times??
GUYS. FELLAS
Like. I am SURE the "Full Backstories for Heroes Only" rule is going to get broken again, but with Imu and Blackbeard already there just BEGGING to have their beans spilled, can we even be sure Sir Fucking Crocodile is somehow going to become A Villain So Dangerous To The Narrative that he ALSO should also recieve a Full Fucking Backstory?? For his Nefarious Schemes?? AT THIS POINT??
Y'all
I think it's more likely Oda's been saving up Croc's backstory because it might just completely recontextualize his entire character

May I pretty please request an emergency medicine doctor!reader x Hotch blurb? I’d love to see both of them in careers that are difficult, yet despite that they still manage to be together because they understand each other so much. Maybe something with the rest of the team as well if it’s possible 🫶🏼🥹
Emily used to think Hotch would never be happy again. She’d drive him home after work, pick him up in the mornings, and she’d think about how miserable he was, the kind of misery that hooks you in its grip, has you turning to wine or whiskey just to keep breathing.
She thought for sure he’d buckle. When Hayley died, he’d have to. How could you not? But he kept going and proved she should’ve had more faith in him, becoming the father Jack deserves, and, surprisingly, your partner.
“You’re squeezing me too tight,” you mumble, just loud enough for Emily and the others to hear you where Hotch hugs you a few feet from the dinner table. “Why are you trying to break my back?”
“I haven’t seen you in three weeks.”
“Eighteen days is not three weeks.”
“It might as well be.” Hotch peels away from you to give you a once over. Emily’s half jealousy and half fondness, seeing him love someone so obviously. “Are you hungry? I ordered for you.”
“Super hungry. Do I smell like antiseptic?”
“No, just soap.”
“Well, that’s not much better.”
Hotch puts his arm behind your back and guides you to the table. The team squeeze out hellos between mouthfuls and you take your place at Hotch’s side behind a steaming plate. You’re as ravenous as the rest of them after your long shift; Morgan can hardly get a word out of you for the first ten minutes, though he tries, and you attempt to be polite. Emily nudges him until he gets the hint to stop.
“Here,” Hotch says, putting a heaping of his food onto your plate with a large spoon.
“Stop.” You attack his spoon with a fork.
“It’s fine, you like it more than I do.”
“Don’t care. You need your energy. I’m going to make you carry me up the stairs home.”
He’s unintimidated. “Ah.”
“Ah,” you echo. “You sound so doubtful.”
Hotch looks like he might try to keep flirting with you, but he gives in quickly, betraying how much he’s missed you with a hand slipping under the table. Emily sees his fingers curl over your knee, averting her gaze with a feigned sip of coke.
She can deduce the silent question you ask one another about anyways.
“We’ll have dessert,” you say. We won’t skip out early. “What are you having, Dr. Reid?”
Hotch orders you three different things, which you eat fast.
“They’re not feeding you at the hospital?” Rossi asks.
“Three emergency transfers in twelve hours,” you explain, slouching now into Hotch’s side, one slow inch at a time. “I didn’t have time for much.”
“That’s not healthy,” Hotch murmurs in concern.
“I’m sure I can ask any of your friends about your eating habits and find a similar schedule,” you brush him off, raising your gaze to Emily, then Morgan, then Rossi and Reid. Everyone smiles the same way. Hotch is caught, and his laugh jostles your shoulder.
“Have you ever heard the saying, ‘do as I say, and not as I do?’” he asks.
God, Emily thinks with a huff of a laugh she can’t contain, get a room.
“He likes that one,” Spencer says.
“I don’t doubt it.” You lift your lips to his jaw and press a peck to the line of it. One, then two. “Maybe that’s why we've lasted as long as we have. Mutual disregard for our wellbeing.”
“And a great deal of care for each other,” Rossi says, nodding sagely. “This is why my marriages never last.”
“Is that why?” Spencer asks.
“You’ve gotten to be quite the lark.”
“Lark,” Hotch whispers to you. Emily, sitting at his other side, might be the only one who hears, the others distracted by Spencer and Rossi’s ensuing squabble.
“Scoundrel,” you agree.
“How’s your head now?”
“It’s gonna be a hundred percent better if you give me that,” you say, pointing hopefully at his full drink.
He doesn’t hesitate to press it into your hand. Emily would never suspect you hadn’t seen one another for weeks; you move and he follows. You rub your cheek against his shoulder. He touches his nose to your hair, his eyes shuttering closed for one stolen, blissful second. “Missed you,” he says under his breath.
Emily looks away with a smile. Hotch isn’t hopelessly miserable anymore.

idk if you’re still taking spencer reid requests but i was thinking about him and reader ending a long term relationship but they just keep going back to each other and a whole bunch of smutty angst ensues hehe
Tumblr media
alright alright alright I don't know if I did exactly what you had in mind but I hope I got close enough (btw this is obv later seasons Spence)
Made for me
"I'm sorry I can't do this anymore," you said "No, actually, you know what, I'm not sorry, it's you who should be apologizing"
"for what? having to work?"
"you know what I mean"
"Seriously?" he sighed "You wanna do this again?"
"Maybe I do, alright"
"y/n, I've already told you thousands of times this is just how my job works, it's not that I want to be gone for weeks on end, it's that I have to"
"yeah sure," you mumbled, shaking your head
"What? you don't believe me?" he took a step towards you, and you took a step back, hitting the kitchen counter, "you think I like being gone?"
"All I'm saying is maybe you don't hate it as much as you say you do"
He shot you a look, and you didn't give a fuck. You were tired of him and of his coming home late every night.
"You get to get away from me with all your little friends who I'm sure wouldn't snitch on you even if held at gunpoint" You cocked an eyebrow.
"snitch on me...?" he said, sounding confused before he realized, "You think I cheat on you? Is that it?"
"Are you saying you never thought about it?"
He scoffed "Y/n I go away to solve fucking murders," he said like he was one breath away from exploding
"That's not what I asked"
His knuckles turned white as he tightened his fists by his side
"but I guess it's as good as an answer" You shrugged, looking at him steadily "This isn't working anymore Spencer," you said, "I think we should take a break"
"a break?" He scoffed "Y/n we've been together for five years"
"yeah, five years too long"
You saw his eyes turn black as a faint hint of hurt traveled behind them.
"you don't mean that"
"Trust me, I do," you said "I'm tired of this Spencer, I'm tired of you"
His jaw twitched "You're tired of me?" he mocked "What about me? Do you think I'm not tired of you? Of your constant complaining and moaning and blabbing on and on about how much I suck?" he grabbed your wrist
"Well then a break is exactly what we need"
"I don't think so"
"Why? That way you can go back to all the special friends I'm sure you've made over the years"
"again with this fucking thing" he muttered, annoyed
"oh don't beat yourself up, It's not like I haven't thought about it myself" you smirked, "I just never acted on it, unlike you"
His eyes zeroed in on you, a flame sparking beneath them.
"What did you just say?" he pulled you closer
"you heard what I said"
"you thought about other men touching you?" his other hand moved to your waist
"Maybe I did"
"Who?"
A quiet smirk tugged at your lips "Why do you care?"
"Because you're mine y/n"
"Not anymore, remember?" you said "We're taking a break"
"I never agreed to that" Sometimes after you spoke he had gotten closer, and his breath was now fanning over your mouth.
"And I doubt you really want that either"
"well you're wrong"
"I'm not" he whispered just moments before his lips met yours.
The hand on your wrist went to grab your face, bringing you impossibly closer to him as his other hand traveled down to your ass.
You involuntarily whimpered into his mouth and he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss, his tongue moving into your mouth painfully nicely.
You felt your feet lift from the ground and moments later you found yourself seated on the counter, Spencer's body pressed against you from between your legs
"you're saying you wouldn't miss this?" he asked, starting a slow trail of kisses down your neck " miss me?" he taunted, his hands caressing your thighs
you could only breathe loudly, as all your brain's capability was taken over by his presence.
"because the wet patch on your panties is saying something much different baby" he smirked, his fingers grazing the damp cotton between your legs.
"shut up" you moaned
"I'm just saying sweetheart" He kissed you again, " I think you're all talk" His teeth grazed your bottom lip "You like to tell me just how bad I am as a boyfriend when you know you're made for me" he breathed
"fuck off Spencer" you spat "I'm not"
"oh aren't you?" he mocked, his fingers infiltrating under the waistband of your panties and passing through your slick folds "Then tell me, sweetheart..." He held your gaze as his fingers entered your hole and you had to force down a moan "Who else can make you come like I do?"

your leander analysis was soooo spot on !! it's the first one that made sense to me !! i was always like ?? why would he try to mess with you ?? it just didn't make sense to me ?? you're so big brain
exactlyyyy!
i think my point didnt really get across because i said it in a very dramatic manner, but the point is there.
at the end of the day, Leander wants to manipulate you into trusting him. for what reason? we don't know yet. To take down the senobium? for selfish reasons? both?
no matter the reason, he's cunning and manipulative. he's not prone to outbursts and immediate revenge from what we've seen in the demo. he didn't become the trusted and adored leader of a huge gang by having childish outbursts and taking his frustration out on others for not trusting him or not wanting to be around him. he's like a wolf. he will play the long game if he really has to. if it becomes a game of stamina, he'll keep chasing you until you dont want to or cant run anywhere but into his arms. into his maw of fangs that he's conditioned you to believe is home so he can finally snap his jaw shut on you.
He is the safehouse, the leader. everyone follows him eventually. he just likes to make you feel like it was your choice all along and not something he was steering you towards since the very beginning.
this is literally what makes him such an attractive character. we know in the back of our minds (whether or not we realize it) that this is what he's doing. its so bad, but it so good at the same time. he has secrets and depth to his character and we want to know them.
honestly, if anything, he grabbed mc's hand when they choose to hesitate out of desperation to prove he can handle it and gain that huge leap of trust in Mc.
which caused mc a moment of panic and surprise, thus causing their curse to flare up. the same way i assume mhin's curse would flare up to protect them. this flare up was more than what leander had planned for, so he has a moment where he has to bat away the curse with whatever stupid powerful magic he's gotten ahold of.
once again, he wants you to trust him. this is obviously a bad situation where there's only two believable and sucky ways to play it off. the truth, or a prank. so he has to pick the lesser of two bad choices and play it off like he was just messing around. like it was just jokes and everything was fine all along!!! i think theres a small crack in his facade when he says something along the lines of Mc's curse being some serious stuff he's never seen before. this is a true statement buried in false ones. its easy to breeze over. he's successfully fooled you and won if he can get you to believe he was genuinely just fucking with you.
but yeah, sure Mc could have gotten pissed with him, but isnt a moment of Mc being pissed at a joke better than them not trusting him with their curse? the trust broken from a prank is MUCH easier to repair than trust broken from a curse that almost slipped through his magical protections.
Leander wants Mc alive, safe, and trusting him COMPLETELY. He (i assume unknowingly) hints at this anytime he talks about how he shouldn't have let you leave his side. he is that one "the illusion of choice" meme.
My ending statement will be this: i am OBSESSED with characters that have a true personality hidden under a different one. the little phrases that slip out and give insight into the truth are my JAM. characters that dangle a shiny charming personality like an angler fish. maybe its because of my trauma, but we dont have to talk about that.

Buddie Season 7 Hype and "Brothers" Rumor
I know some of us may have seen the "brother" rumors floating around, hinting that an upcoming Buck and Eddie scene this season might officially cast their relationship as strictly platonic.
Tumblr media
Some fans just want to live in the buddie moment and be happy after the stills and 7x04 synopsis dropped. I get it. It's fun being on the buddie train. But some are worried now that they've gotten their hopes up. I get that too. So I just wanted to talk about it here on my little buddie blog. If you're unbothered by it, definitely scroll past this post.
Firstly, we don't know yet if they will actually call each other brothers or not. It's just rumors at this point, from what I can tell. And if even if they do, we don't know the full context of it or either character's reaction to it. Secondly, just the way the show has stirred up the buddie hype this season makes me want to believe the "brother" dialogue that may or may not even happen would NOT be meant to shut down buddie canon hope once and for all.
While I don't think we're getting a clear and true, full out buddie-feelings-realization in these next couple episodes, it would be very cruel if the show instead went in the extreme opposite direction and defined their relationship as "like brothers" at the end of this particular storyline that has fans so hyped up, if their intention in doing so is meant to cement their relationship in the general audience's eyes as brotherly only. Let's be real: the show has ramped up the marketing attention on Buck and Eddie this season like never before. From pre-releasing a ton of Buck-and-Eddie-centric stills to the decision of pairing Ryan and Oliver together so damn much for promotions … all actions not seen on this level in any previous seasons.
To me, that demonstrates the show's intentions to build hope for buddie rather than dash it.
Especially because we know the show KNOWS their audience. I think the show knows how to market to the buddie fandom, even when they're marketing differently to the rest of the general audience and other potential viewers. They are acutely aware that the buddie fans tend to be dialed in, always seeing the episode stills the instant they're released, waiting on pins and needles for the next synopsis to drop, theorizing, reading each article, devouring every interview, examining bts details, etc. They tend to be highly engaged fans.
The showrunners and powers-that-be know how this promotional content is perceived and are aware of the fandom's dedication, and so have fed into the fervor with strategically released content for calculated engagement. And now we have the carefully worded synopsis for 7x04, where we've been told Eddie will form a close bond with someone else, and Buck will be envious over it. It's obvious how buddie fans will perceive this. So for them to pivot so sharply and end up defining Buck and Eddie's relationship as nothing more than brotherly after such a known buildup would not only be a massive letdown but might also be perceived as an uncaring bait-and-switch tactic. And I really don't they would do that to their fans.
They wouldn't hype us up to the top of a cliff knowing they're only going to throw us off it, right?
I don't want to get into if it would be queer baiting or not; the situation isn't black and white, and I don't think it's blatant enough to be considered anything like that. It's more about the emotional investment the fans have made, based on the carefully crafted cues the show has provided them with. The ethical route, if the showrunner's intention this season was always to solidify buddie as a brotherly bond with no romantic potential, would have been to firmly manage expectations from the start rather than amplifying them to the point of no return going into this network change and new season. To sum up here, the buildup we've been given around Buck and Eddie lately leads me to hope we're moving in an optimistic direction that will eventually culminate in the chance for a buddie romance at some point in the series. At the very least, I hope it means we're not going to have our hopes crushed entirely and see Buck and Eddie be officially friend-zoned. (Even though we can certainly still ship them to eternity and beyond regardless, it means so much if them going canon remain a possibility.)
To officially redefine Buck and Eddie's pairing in strictly platonic terms now, after all these seasons, would not only be a disservice to an incredibly invested fanbase but also a hell of a missed opportunity to go on and explore a rich relationship in a more dynamic way, especially as buddie has captivated viewers for so long in a slow-burn sense already.

Hiii! Do you ever see GoT writers, actors or even D&D confessing their plan of Jonsa or the reason Jonsa parallel Ned&Cat and even Jaime&Cersei? Something in the line of: okay, this was the plan but we changed our minds because X. That would give me soooo much peace. The foreshadowing and parallels were so obvious it makes me anxious when I remember the real ending.... even if they never get together. But what happens in between.
I would love an explanation too! I sometimes try to put myself in D&D's shoes and imagine what their platonic explanation could be for all the parallels/contrasts they created for Jonsa, and I actually think that the Cersei and Jaime connections would be the easiest to rationalize, but the fact that they also paralleled them with Braime is what makes it seem like it wasn't just a healthy sibling duo in contrast to Cersei/Jaime, it wasn't just about showing us the difference between Cersei and Sansa as leaders, it felt romantic! Especially as that convo carried through to the ending, Jon and Jaime were being paralleled and juxtaposed, both choosing their sisters over someone else, but Jaime choosing his "evil queen," Jon rejecting his, which means, you can't say it was accidental, they were intentionally doing that in s7-8.
Obviously, in the books the NedCat 2.0 idea will be a thing, we've already gotten comments about Jon and Sansa individually looking like the og, so D&D inserting that with the redux of NedCat scenes, ok, not necessarily romantic, maybe just a nod to the books, maybe they overdid it, but their motives were pure. Except, they included the choking LF scene. Jealously, rage, desire to kill. Sure, of course, LF deserved it, but then they also had Sansa be angry and jealous in s8, and again, there are platonic explanations for some of it, but it crosses the line, particularly in the feast scene. At that point it feels like it's more, something else.
(And let's not even talk about the parallels with Robb and Talisa, Sam x Gilly, or Gendrya.)
But will they ever tell us anything? Well, let's say TWOW comes out in a year or two and Jonsa is a thing in the books. We absolutely would have the entire fanbase revisiting Jonsa's odd chemistry in the show and rethinking things, and I bet, yeah, we'd finally get a reporter who would ask a useful question regarding the Jonsa scenes. Or, say Kit goes for it in Jon's spin-off, we'd definitely get some new insight into the acting choices he made in s6-8.
Absent of that, I can't imagine getting confirmation? Mainly because, it's not just an unpopular ship, it's hated. Dany stans, Targ stans, Jon stans, I saw all of them taking comfort in the midst of their rage and grief that at least Jonsa didn't happen. Any hint that show Jonsa in some form was real is probably the only thing that would make people hate the last season/finale more. Considering how disgusting our fandom is (they harassed child actors because they hated the characters they played, they ship the actors with other actors, bully them off social media, stalk them...) I don't see the upside of bringing it up and there is a big downside.
If they had the cover of Martin's books or a new show, D&D could say they didn't do it because it was weird but here's how they hinted at it or Kit could say it grossed him out but he tried to subtly include it. Presented that way, people could be sympathetic to them, not blame them, so I could see that. But if they just announced, "Yep, Jon had Targy feelings for Sansa," I don’t think people would take it well!

hello! long time watcher of black butler first time reader and i just caught up. something i don't get during the campania shenanigans and i was hoping you would explain. why did undertaker keep going with the first bizarre doll experiment when he found out that ciel and the midford family were on board. If he's cedric or just if he cares, shouldn't he have aborted the experiments and protected them? thank you a lot for answering this and sorry if you said this before but i didn't find it.
Tumblr media
Hey Anon! Even if you're not necessarily new to the fandom, welcome to the readers' side, hahaha! As for your question, I'm pretty sure I did answer this here and there once or twice, but I'll sum it up for you here. :)
First of all, while UT's a complex character, unlike some other fans, I never found that anything he does is senseless. Not ever since ch105. However, writing-wise, Yana-sensei can only slowly unveil more and more hints for UT's character and his agenda throughout the arcs.
For example, she can only reveal that UT "can't bear to lose another Phantomhive" after showing us that he cried about Vincent's death in the GW arc and after revealing he's a deserting Shinigami who's trying to bring back the dead in the Campania and Weston arcs. All these hints are revealed one after the other to make the readers slowly reflect about UT's goals and his true identity, as well as his past actions in previous arcs, in order to get to the bigger picture, just like you're doing right now.
As of right now, with all the hints we've gotten, we know that :
UT cares about salvaging what's left of the P family, as much as he cares about bringing back what he can of the ones who are dead (real!Ciel, maybe Claudia, but not Vincent because his body burnt too badly)
Tumblr media
UT considers Frances and most likely her kids to be amongst the people he "can't bear to lose"
Tumblr media
That much you can be rather sure of and that's the beginning of your answer: during the Campania arc, while our!Ciel and the Midfords were indeed in danger, UT also had to conduct this experiment in order to perfect his bizarre dolls, namely for real!Ciel's sake and for his sponsors, so he made a gamble.
For our!Ciel, he knew that Seb is a demon contracted with him, so he figured that Seb would definitely protect Ciel from the BDs.
Tumblr media
Additionally, by checking Seb's cinematic record during the arc, he also found out about the terms of contract between him and our!Ciel (what we read about in ch138). So, post Campania and as confirmed in Weston, UT now knows that Seb is bound to obey and act as our!Ciel's shield as long as Ciel's revenge isn't achieved. That's why UT uses Seb to make sure of our!Ciel's safety.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the Midfords, it's a similar gamble: ch151 revealed that UT has known Frances since basically her birth, so it seems logical that he's aware she's a very talented fighter, just like he probably knows that Lizzie is just as skilled (could be why she even was recruited by Bravat to protect real!Ciel if UT wasn't always around during the blue sect arc, me think).
Additionally, since UT knows that our!Ciel is quite selfless, I'm sure he also figured out that our!Ciel would order Seb to help his family if necessary:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lastly, UT found the time to put BD!real!Ciel to safety despite the chaos on board and, since he was looking for a way to sink the ship after the experiment until they hit the iceberg, I'm quite sure he had planned to make sure our!Ciel and the rest of his family would end up safe no matter what.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's my opinion!
I know some fans also used to think UT doesn't make a difference between being alive or dead thus used to say that, if Ciel and the Midfords had died during the Campania, UT would have simply collected their corpse and turned them into BDs. Personally I don't buy it, since his bizarre dolls still can't function without regular blood transfusions as of right now, so I'm sure he'd rather have them alive than dead.
Other fans also used to say, long ago, that Frances was in cahoots with UT during the Campania, which is why he didn't have to rescue them, because she knew enough of his plan to manage to rescue her family out of it, but 1) then why did she go on board at all? 2) I think ch151 definitely proved that she never was involved with real!Ciel's revival.
TL;DR I think UT bet on what he knew of at least our!Ciel, Seb and Frances to keep on conducting the Campania experiment while they managed to escape but, since we know he definitely doesn't want to lose them, I'm sure he had a backup plan that involved him rescuing them if necessary.
I hope this answers your question! Have a great day!

I’m not new to the 911 fandom, this is my third, if we don’t count 2020 winter hiatus, and it was never so calm, just think about last year the billions ff, and fan videos about eddie leaving, or the multitude of buddie Christmas ff, now everything is almost silent. We can say 911 it’s not the buddie show, and it’s true, but buddie was a very strong driving force to watch it, with the almost 0 scenes of 6a, a lot of people re just leaving
Yep. It's not the Buddie show (but Tim wants to make LS the T-rlos show, LOL), but there's no denying that the Buddie fandom is what keeps the conversation going on social media - and Tim knows that, because after s4 he admitted he wanted the shooting scene to be something fans couldn't stop talking about. There's only so much speculation that can be done when we're given so little to work with, and personally, I think it's gotten to a point where people (even the ones who tried to stay optimistic) are tired of reading/hearing about how a story line *could* play out when we've seen time and again that the show very rarely devotes the kind of attention to Buddie we expect in the aftermath of something important for those two as friends and potential romantic partners. Idk what the show is doing with Buddie right now, but it's still not a slow burn. Two characters not speaking to each other unless it's necessary and not about anything personal is not the recipe for romance in the fifth season. Had those guys spoken to others/been called out by others for obvious "issues" with their dynamic, there would be cause to celebrate because at least we're in the know on why they're acting different, but opting not to do even that tells me the plan (if there is one) isn't up to the level of fandom's expectations. The way this show operates...we're more likely to get two or three episodes "hinting at" something more and then, oh, hey, look who's dating now.

Homestuck Upd8 - 12/17/2023
I'm pretty sick, but not sick enough I'm not gonna read the upd8. Let's do this! Calliope! Missed my Muses. Oh! Teasing us with free Jade! Boo!
Uh . . . what's going on with this Jade . . .
What . . .
I'm not liking this . . .
Aradia? What's going on?
Okay . . . now there's two of them. I thought the whole point was that they only won that battle the one iteration. But Paradox Space is infinite and . . . you know . . . full of Paradoxes.
Hah! Love the callback to characters regarding each other. So apparently this isn't the first time this has happened. Apparently Dead Calliope has done this before. And also apparently, they always need a host body to exert the kind of control we've seen.
This is giving me some God Tier splinter vibes. The whole idea that becoming a God Tier eventually exposes you to all the version of yourself, as we've seen with consequences.
The fact that Aradia and Davebot aren't worried unfortunately doesn't fill me with comfort.
Okay! I'm loving this dynamic. Now I'm really wishing Dave had been able to try and give Aradia the business after Terezi got John killed. This is fantastic!
Whew! For a second there I though Aradia was peacing out again. But she peaced back in. Crisis averted!
We're getting into some discussions about the timeline. It's interesting because the Live Blog that inspired me, Discard and Draw, spent quite a bit of time analyzing the dead John timeline from above. The timeline Terezi created by messing with John, and more accurately by Dave turning Cal into a sprite, was doomed. That timeline wouldn't result in the Lord of Time's stable time loop, and couldn't exist. But if that timeline hadn't happened, Dave couldn't come back and stop the prototyping and John's death in the first place. The same is true for all the dead Dave's and doomed Aradia-bots. So if that's the case, what really counts as an "important" timeline.
Also, it looks like becoming a robot hasn't help Dave deal with his sexuality much. He could just be falling back on gay jokes, but I think that's something he's still dealing with in this timeline.
Hah!
And we will never know . . .
And now Calliope is once again possessing "Jade".
I'm not gonna lie. I unabashedly loved every moment of that!
So it definitely looks like we've gotten a little bit of insight into just how Calliope's powers work and a bit more introspection on Homestuck's timeline. Maybe this is a hint that the HICU is going to be looking at threads the community was interested in and potentially explore them in this new iteration. Maybe we'll see Boot's beloved Inversion Theory make a come back.
Also, a side note as an AraSol fan: I love the short little glimpse into their relationship. At least that was how I interpreted it. I'm sure other people might read a different relationship, but that feels pretty in tune with what we've seen for Sollux and Aradia, regardless of what you think the nature of that relationship is.

MY THOUGHTS ON THE MANDALORIAN - Chapter 20 "The Foundling"
I loved this episode so much! And not because the same reason most hardcore fans loved it. I didn't recognize Ahmed Best until I saw someone mentioning that he had portrait Jar Jar Binks in the prequels, and we all know how many fans treated him. It's nice he's given a role where he's getting all the love and respect from the fans he always deserved. I honestly don't understand why people can't separate actor from character. It's fine if you don't like a character, but it's never okay to hate and harass an actor because of it.
Anyway, let me tell you why I loved this episode…
This episode gave me exactly what I was asking for. I wanted to see the dynamic within the covert, I wanted to see their daily life. I even hinted at it in a posted I did on this past Tuesday. Because we've only gotten crumbs about it in the 2 previous seasons. We saw a bit of it in the pilot episode of the series, then in chapter 3, and after that nothing until episode 5 of The Book of Boba Fett. Then, it was only the Armorer and Paz Vizla, a reunion which didn't go well for Din, as we know. So, I was curious of how they lived together.
I know people are complaining (what else is new! 🙄) about Bo stealing Din spotlight on his own show. That's not happening, for many reasons. We get to see Bo's POV because all that is new to her too as much as it's new to us, the audience. So it makes sense that we follow the character that it's as clueless as we are.
People want to see Din and Grogu every second of the show. I don't blame them for wanting that, but some need to understand that sometimes you need to focus on other characters to move the story forward. It's not just Bo's journey, her journey also reflects Din's, by contrasting or doing parallels to it. This episode referred as much to Grogu and Ragnar as it did to Bo. Everything is revealing pieces of a much larger puzzle.
I think what Bo's journey is about is that she needs to learn that leadership and respect is earned by what you do, not for what you are. She still has a bit of arrogance thinking that she can lead Mandalore because she had the Darksaber once, because she was a princess and was raised for it. Because she's the best, and she can do it alone. Also, it's about finding, or rather, building up her faith again.
In contrast, Din's journey is more about in finding confidence in his own leadership skills and learning not to have a blind faith. In short, finding a balance between traditions and pragmatism.
Watching foundlings training was great. I think that Din putting Grogu to fight against Ragnar was the best. I think it was a bit of integrating Grogu even more to the covert's life, but also it was about Din showing Grogu off. He was very confident in what his son can do, rightly so. And also, I think it's important that Grogu feels comfortable using The Force in a more relaxed environment and not just in life-threatening situations. Or to steal cookies and candy. That he mostly uses the Force when he's afraid is not a good thing. Things can get ugly fast if he's not careful.
I know that that Mandos are used to train for war, to attack, as warriors, but as far as we've seen, this particular covert, when they fight, it's always to protect. So, that's not much different than why Jedi trained.
Of course, we cannot ignore Grogu's trauma, but this is the life he chose. Mandalorians fight, so he needs to learn to. he can choose never attack someone.
I know everyone's first instinct when Din issued the challenge was to say "But he's a baby!" which sorta true, but not quite. First, Grogu is small but not helpless as he demonstrated it. Second, how is this so much different from Jedi training with Lightsabers or the ball droid thingy? The low setting laser bolts hurt more than the paintballs, I think. And Ragnar needed the lesson to drop a peg or 2 to his cockiness, don't you think? God lesson that of "One does not speak unless one knows."
And talking about Ragnar, poor kid! First, he gets his shebs kicked by someone 3 times smaller than him, and then gets kidnapped by a monster and almost eaten alive (that's without counting that he was almost eaten once before when he took the creed in the chapter 17). But I'm over the moon that they confirmed that he's Paz's son.
Order 66 flashback I knew it was coming, but it hurt like always does. I like the parallel of Grogu having it in the forge, just like Din had his back in Chapter 3. And we finally know who helped Grogu escape!! I didn't know about Kalleran Baq before, but I love him now. Instant love!
And my theory about who lend that H-type Nubian ship is that it wasn't Padmé. She didn't know what was happening, and she was busy worrying about her freshly-inducted Sith husband, so that leaves 2 possibilities. It was either one of her maids, Sabé, perhaps, or it was the only other Naboo senatorial representative we know. It'd be great and doubly vindicating if Jar Jar was the one who helped to save the most beloved character in SW universe.
I think The Armorer saw Grogu doing his flip-flops in the morning and said, yep, time for another piece of armor for him. The roundel it's kinda of weird, but I loved that it has the mudhorn sigil!!
As I said before, I'm liking the way Bo is earning respect from everyone in the covert, especially in this episode when she led the rescuing party. This what I mean by to be appreciated by what you do, not what you are. Let your actions speak for you.
But I admit that dinner scene when everyone goes somewhere to eat alone is absolutely depressing. Gawd! That helmet rule needs to go! I know that logistically it won't be as soon as we like, I think, specifically for Din, because of Pedro's other filming obligations, but at some point they need to relax it a bit. I mean, when I heard that rule I interpreted it as "you don't show your face to the enemy" as in the symbol of the T visor is enough to put fear in your enemy, not matter who's beneath it, because whoever it is it's going to kick your ass. But with family and people you trust, you can and should show your face. But what I know?!
I love the parallel of Din and Paz saving the other's son. Their relationship is great, and it's peak sibling energy, like hate you sometimes, sometimes I love you but if you need me I'll be there no matter what.
Very nice touch of the covert to adopt the three dragon-bird babies! I went: OH NO! 😱 when the croc-turtle monster ate the mom. The babies were going to die without her. But of course, I should've known better. Mandalorians will adopt any creature despite their species or age 🤣 I swear they go with a weapon in one hand and adoption papers in the other.
The scene where Bo-Katan confesses to the Armorer that she saw the Mythosaur was great. It showed what I suspected all along. Bo's silence about it was never because of a nefarious motive. It was simply because Bo has a hard time comprehend what she saw was true. I mean, any sane person would be wary. Anyone would doubt their sanity if suddenly they see a creature that was supposed to be extinct millennia ago.
The armorer's response to the confession can be interpreted in many ways. She might've believed Bo or she might've not. It could've been scheming or patronizing, or simply it doesn't matter to The Armorer what Bo saw as long Bo believes it, as the mythosaur is the symbols of what's to be a Mandalorian. I guess we have to wait and see how this goes.
Ok, this turned out to be longer than I expected, so I'll leave it here. I have a couple of thoughts in my head that sprung out after watching the episode, but I'll leave them for another post.
The review for the next episode also will be late because TBB season finale has priority for me, but I'm very curious about what will happen in the next episode. Are we going back to Nevarro, or we're going somewhere else? Because there's a footage around that shows a planet with dome cities?
Tumblr media
Is this a flashback to Mandalore of old or a new planet? I need to know what going on!

Whoops, accidentally had Cranky and Wrinkly when they were much younger on the brain and wrote fanfic about it.
---------------------------
"Why do you like me as a friend?"
Donkey looked up from the stack of books he'd placed down. Inari sat on a table across the room. A perfectly good chair stood askew to her position, ignored in favor of being able to swing her legs back and forth. Her elbows rested on her knees with her hands cupping her face. One—or at least Donkey—would think based on her words that she was upset, but she seemed rather content. At least, that's how it appeared outwardly.
"What do you mean?" he finally asked.
"You could have literally anybody else in the village or even in the rest of the kingdom as your friend—you're the prince for stars' sake!" she blurted with absolutely 0 restraint, throwing her arms out.
"Yeah, and…? You're not my only friend, Ina. There's also Karate and—"
"I know, I know, it's just… out of all of them… you hang out with me the most…" She tapped the tips of her fingers together, pondering her next words. "Aren't you… afraid of what people will say?"
Donkey took a step towards her, teeth bared. "Why are you asking such things? Whose putting these thoughts into your head?"
Inari scrambled off the table, rushing over to him. His words made her panic, and she realized he might have mistook her meaning to be something else. Book-smart the prince certainly was, but people-smart he most certainly was not.
"No one, I promise! Well, I guess I'm doing it to myself." She sighed, turning away from him. "What I mean is… aren't you worried people might take our relationship differently from how we do?"
Inari had already experienced a couple of their other friends asking her about it. It had been as a joke, more or less to tease her for how close the two of them were, but it made her worried now that everyone else perceived it the same way.
"Ina, you're a very good friend of mine, and a very talkative one at that. I've always found that interesting about you," Donkey said, placing his hands on her shoulders. "However, while usually I can tell what you're trying to say while using twice as many words as needed… I genuinely can't at the moment. Please explain?"
"They might think… we're dating…?" His eyes widened, and Inari thought there was the faintest hint of his face flushing at the mere thought, but she ignored it for his sake. "I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, least of all you, so I'm just mostly afraid, is all."
The two shared a silent look for a few moments. Donkey broke out into a mischievous grin.
"Next time someone suggests it, you should say we are actually dating."
Now it was Inari who turned red in the face, though her change was much more evident than his.
"Th-that is a bad idea!" she stammered.
"Is it? We're not considered too young for it to be taken seriously. Besides, if anyone asks why—which I'm hoping they don't—just tell them it's for the same reasons we've gotten along so well as friends. Although I guess that was your original question, huh?" She nodded. "Well, there's the fact you're really smart, you're always willing to help everyone you can, you're actually… kinda… cute… uhm, we enjoy a lot of the same books, there's never a dull moment with you if I'm being completely honest—"
"Wait, what was that third one?"
"We enjoy a lot of the same books," Donkey said nonchalantly. "Look, there's a lot of reasons to it. In the end, I actually feel like I can just be… I don't know, normal around you, instead of what I am. Some people have tried to be my friend only because I'm the prince, but it sometimes feels like you forget that when we're near each other."
"That's because I don't see," Inari pretended to swoon, acting as if she was head over heels for him, "Donkey Kong, beloved prince of the Jungle Kingdom and heir to the throne!" She grinned wide, dropping the rouse and grabbing his arm in excitement. "I see a really smart person who I am good friends with and have a great time arguing about things with. If that makes you feel like you're one of us 'little folk', then I feel like I've already accomplished something with my life. Although, ideally, we'll be old coots and I'll be talking to you like it's bingo night and we're arch rivals who have lived in the same retirement center together for decades."
They laughed at the thought.

So random question about your excellent fic Cicada 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Where did you get the idea for the kitsune dreams? That was my favorite little detail that added so much to the overall story.
Tumblr media
I'm so grateful that you like it. Cicada was one of my favorite stories to write. To give other people some idea what you're talking about, I'll reproduce the paragraphs to which you refer.
Dreams are different for a kitsune. While scientists and mystics could debate the true source of humanity’s dreams, they all agree that dreams are, at least in part, generated from the personality and experiences of the dreamer in the waking world. Human minds accumulate fragments of thought like a suit accumulates lint, and in the peaceful quiet of the night, they sort those bits out.
Kitsune dreams, on the other hand, come from another world. When a kitsune sleeps, they remember their lives before they came to earth. They remember the vibrant woods and the flowering fields of the spirit lands where their ancestors hold ancient courts. They remember games and romances and intrigues conducted among powers that have never been human.
I came up with the idea through contemplation of what Teen Wolf did with their reimagining of kitsune legend. Teen Wolf's version of kitsune serve to support one of the themes of the production: balance. Things go well when the human part and the fox part of them are equal. For example, modern Noshiko seems to be calm and confidant (if a little distant) while her 1943 version has more problems because she doesn't balance her necessary participation in human society with the mischievous free-wheeling fox part of her. Multiple characters point that out. Satomi (also a supernatural creature seeking to balance her sides, in her case with constant games of Go) lays out the danger: "You take too greedily and you take too much." Her behavior at Oak Creek doesn't cause the corruption there, but her emotional reactions to that corruption certainly don't help the situation.
Kira tends to be often frustrated and lost because she has barely begun to understand her two halves, let alone start to learn how to negotiate between them. This becomes dangerous when the Doctors purposefully empower the fox spirit because she has not yet started. While I feel the Skinwalker test was too murky for the audience, I think the point was to demonstrate that Kira would never establish that balance she needs if she embraces the fox only in crisis situations.
As a counterpoint, the nogitsune is evil and a disaster because it has no regard for its host. It uses, it manipulates, it consumes the people around it, playing games and terrorizing to get "More." That does bring a degree of power, which is why a desperate Noshiko calls upon it, but in the way that a forest fire is powerful. It doesn't care that nothing will be left in the path. From the hints we've gotten from the movie that it might be dealing with the consequences of Scott's choice to save everyone at the expense of his own needs and opportunities, then that makes it the best villain for that story. We'll have to wait and see.
I came up with the idea that kitsune dream of the spirit world because I was brainstorming about how kitsune develop a balance between the human side of them and the fox side of them. They live in the human world and that dominates their experiences. How does the fox not feel alienated? I came up with the idea that when they dream, they dream of their home and what they experienced, thus achieving balance.

Time to rate the Heisi Era Gamera films alongside Gamera the Brave.
Gamera: Defender of the Universe (1995)
Having now gotten a chance to see this film it's definitely interesting. The new effects to match with what had changed since the late 70s early 80s looks great! Gamera is looking as good as always. The levels of bloody scenes is more then I expected. Hell I expected zero bloody looking scenes and it surprised me. The Gyaos redesign however I'm still not a big fan of but it looks good in motion and fun fact is the first kaiju known to be acted by an actress. Yumi Kameyama does a great job bring Gyaos to life. The whole psychic connection thing with Gamera thou is a little out there for me but I'll get used to it at some point. All in all pretty good film. Last stand off was cool.
Gamera 2: Attack of Legion (1996)
The second film in the Heisi Era and also the first new monster for Gamera to take on. And the differences in showa and heisi really show here. Lot more time focused on the human characters. We get our first little hinting of Legion during a security guard moment in a factory. All we see is a shadow and it's eye at first. We start to see a better look at it when it attacks a subway. A kinda crab insect like kaijus with glory blue bits that dissolves glass and goes nommy nommy on people. Then you begin to realize that they are a hivemind getting food for the "flower" aka actual Legion. Actually getting to see Legions design is interesting. It's kinda more bug like then part crab like the little ones are. The movie also calls back a lot to Defender of the Universe with Gyaos encounter and having a few characters return as key players. Legion shows it's extreme power with 2 huge stabs into Gamera's belly and completely blowing off a chunk of Gamera's shell in a series first. We've seen cuts and technically a stab before but never that much harm on Gamera. The second showdown starts kinda funny seeing gamera basically drift to shoot fire at Legion. We also get Gamera's belly beam introduced to end the fight.... cool attack just not a big fan of how he literally opens his belly and goes brrt with it.
Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris (1999)
The final film of the Heisi Era gamera and thd Heisi Era in general. We get into the story with having it focus a little on a girl who lost her family during Gamera's battle against Gyaos and grows a hatred towards Gamera because of her family being caught in the crossfire. Gamera also gets a big redesign here and I must say... not a fan of it. Also the graphicness goes up heavily. You see some really dark stuff as Gamera takes on multiple Gyaos in Shibuya. You start to see Iris kinda earlish as a freshly hatched alien like creature that attacks to the girl who hates gamera. She starts "raising" and "taking care of" him. Once again characters from Legion and Gyaos make appearances throughout the movie. The movie gets really fucking weird really quick after Iris starts getting bigger. It is clusterfuck after clusterfuck. Now Iris once it's the final design looks kinda cool. It's hard to describe how it looks but it's interesting to say the least. Also the CGI in this movie ain't that bad only time I can complain about it is when Iris is walking in a certain scene in a forest. Now the fight in Kyoto is fucking cool as hell. The fight takes some heavy blows on both side and ends on a interesting note with what felt like a sequel planned but sadly never came to be.
Gamera the Brave (2006)
The last movie as of writing this for Gamera. And a return to the friend of the children route of the Showa Era instead of the Defender of the Universe/Earth route of the Heisi Era. And it begins with some Heisi level violence against Gamera as 4 Gyaos attack him and a village near the fight. Gamera sacrifices himself to save the humans as the fight becomes to obvious that he'll lose. Then we get Toto the "son" of Gamera and he is just adorable! They mix in scenes with him with scenes of the kids in this film at a skate park and it keeps getting cuter and cuter with each scene. Once we see the new enemy Kaiju Zedus then the battle begins. Zedus looking likea type of dinosaur like cresture has a pretty cool design. Toto having grown to a bigger size to be able to fight and the short first fight is kinda nice with some really good music adding to it. Of course Toto gets captured and they spend time trying to figure out the deference between him and Gamera. Zedus and Toto then prepared for a second battle in Nagayo once Toto is broken free while the kid characters race through the city to find a stone that was with Toto's egg that Toru gave to a friend as a good luck charm as they went to the hospital. You get a kinda nice scene of a group of kids passing the stone to get closer to Totot while they run through the fleeing and destroyed streets of the city that culminates in Toru and his dad racing up a building to give Toto the stone to defeat Zedus. Once Zedus is defeated for good the JSDF try to take Toto into custody but the kids all block their path so Toto can escape. The movies ends with the line I will also say for now until Gamera returns in a movie someday "Sayonara Gamera."
For my opinion. I can see why the Heisi Era is loved more for Gamera but idk. I think the Showa ones have my heart still but I can agree Heisi was really good.
As for rating the Heisi films.
1. Guardian of the Universe
2. Revenge of Iris
3. Attack of Legion.
And with that. Me and my wife have now finished the Gamera films. I do hope one day to see my turtle boy on the big screen again... maybe alongside Goji and Kong, who knows. We start Godzilla this upcoming weekend so I'll soon be meeting the legendary king of the monsters

Ginathon Episodes: Episode 237
Smiffina recap here
It's the day of Jim and June's wedding. Sun Hill are done up in their finest and are in attendance at a beautiful country hotel. As they wait for Jim and June to arrive, Gina reminds Honey not to mention a word to anyone about how the wedding came to be - ESPECIALLY not Jonathan. "It should have been you in the frock today, Ma'am! That Jonathan Fox is a right catch!" "I'm very touched by your concern for my love life but I'm happy as I am!"
Later, Gina asks Jonathan what his wedding was like and he explains that it was a typical East End affair. Not quite pie and mash and the pearly king and queen though as his ex wife - Carol - had a grander ceremony in mind. "I'd only just finished paying for it when the divorce came through." He regrets how cynical it made him but he admits he's mellowed with the years and is very happy with Gina.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Smithy: "Gina scrubs up alright, don't she!" Jonathan: "Hold your horses, she's mine." Smithy: "No thanks, she's too high maintenance for me!" Jonathan: "She's lovely! I'd signed off my old age to poker games with the boys and microwave meals for one. Since we've met it's all different." Smithy: "I had no idea things were so serious." Jonathan: "Sometimes it takes a wedding to put things in perspective!" Gina: "Are you saying I might have to hire this gear again?" Jonathan: "I'll get back to you...."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Smithy teases Gina by interrupting her and Adam talking, turning her and pushing her forward and holding her arms up as the bouquet is thrown, only for Lance's boyfriend to be the one that catches it.
Tumblr media
Smithy tells Gina she might have been a little hasty in giving the wedding away. "Because after talking to Jonathan, I reckon you should have just caught that." Gina is stunned and immediately charges after him. "Oi!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jim tells Jonathan that he couldn't be happier that June has gotten the wedding of her dreams and that he could never have afforded it. He's grateful to Gina for it but Jonathan is obviously lost. "She didn't tell you...? Gina won this competition for an all expenses paid wedding." Jim realises he's put his foot in it. "... I probably shouldn't have said anything." "It's alright, she's so modest she probably didn't want me to know." Jonathan covers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gina is sat outside when Jonathan later joins her, telling her he'd gone to their room for a few quiet moments as he had a headache after all the excitement. Jonathan lifts her hand and kisses her palm, gazing at her.
Gina: "Sure it's a headache and not too much champagne?" Jonathan: "Can't even hold your hand now?" Gina: "Course you can, you've just come over a bit soppy that's all." Jonathan: "I thought we'd turned a bit of a corner in our relationship recently?" Gina: "We've gotten closer." Jonathan: "I like that." Gina: "And so do I, but like you said the other day, we don't live in each others pockets. We've got our separate lives and that's why it's so nice when we do spend time together." Jonathan: "I know I said that, but-" Gina: "And I like that. Separate but together." Jonathan: "Why are you so bloody independent?" Gina: "Because that's who I am." Jonathan: "I want... I need to look after you, Gina." Gina: "And I need to look after me as well." Jonathan sort of looks resigned, nods, kisses her cheek and walks away from the table. Gina's expression suggests she doesn't quite mean 100 percent of how she phrased her words but the hint from Smithy spooked her a little.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gina is about to return to their room when she spots Jonathan leaving holding his suit bag. He tells her he has an early start in the morning and needs to get back. "But we've booked the room?" Gina blinks. "It's only a freebie isn't it. Part of the prize?" Gina pauses. "... So you know. Come on, stay. We need to talk about this." Jonathan tells her his taxi is waiting and just hands her the key to the room. "I want to share more than a hotel room with you Gina. That's what scares you to death. Goodnight." he says quietly, leaving.

Okay, got caught up on Heavenly Delusion (though not finished, because this ride is definitely far from resolved). And had two very different reactions to the ending: one when I watched the final episode last night, and another this morning when all the pieces came together in my head.
But yeah, the show itself is really good. A lot of the themes and concepts are right up my alley, what with one plotline being a wandering the Earth in a post-apocalyptic landscape and the other involving a bunch of lab experiment children being raised in a facility with a dark secret. That's, like, two of my favorite kinds of plots!
The characters were all great too. Loved the dynamic between Maru and Kiruko. They have such great chemistry that in their bickering siblings sort of way that I'm okay if they never becoming an item, though that's certainly on the table. The lab kids were pretty great too, though if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Mimihime, who was definitely the my "If anything happens to her, I'll kill everyone in this room and then myself" character, though given what I only just realized about this show...damn.
I liked how it dolled out crumbs of information. We were given small hints and clues as to what is going on, keeping the sense of mystery going, while leaving plenty of indicators to the true secret really early on. It never really holds your hand but also isn't unfair in its reveals. Like, once you do figure things out, it's in a, "How did I not see this from the beginning?!" sort of way.
This show was also very gender, if that makes any sense, and in a way that I did not see coming and really took me by surprise but made sense in hindsight. Though getting more into that would be too much of a spoiler, so I'll leave it at that.
Still not sure how I feel about certain events that went down in the last two episodes. I feel that maybe it was too much of a turn, and did leave me feeling kind of gross, but that was the intention. I'll have to wait until season two to see where that leaves (or at least read the manga, which I kind of want to do now). Also, I did kind of feel like Maru was a little too pushy toward Kiruko at times and Shino's behaviors toward Mimihime was, well, pretty gross, but at the same time it also makes sense given the setting and their backstories, so give them credit for going for realistic portrayals of how hormonal teenagers in that environment would actually behave.
But the really interesting part is the big, BIG twist, one that was right in front of my nose the whole time, that was literally spelled out in the final episode's post credit scene, and yet it didn't really click for me until this morning, but when it did, this show went from "Hey, this is really good! Interested to see where it goes next!" to "Oh my FUCKING GOD!!!!!" And to talk about that, we need a spoiler break.
IT'S TWO DIFFERENT TIMELINES! THE PLOTS AREN'T HAPPENING AT THE SAME TIME! THE WHOLE TIME, I THOUGHT THAT KIRUKO AND MARU WERE LOOKING FOR THE FACILITY AND WOULD MEET THE KIDS, THAT TOKIO IS THE PERSON THAT MARU IS TRYING TO FIND, BUT NOOOOO!!!!!
Holy fuck, the kids ARE the maneaters! All those monsters that we've been seeing, that have been killing people, that Maru has been killing, they're those kids that we've gotten to know and grown attached to! Dear God, what a dark twist! Like, they're fucked! They are straight up fucked! They do not get the good end!
Like, the girl with the sunglasses? She's the monster in the car park, isn't she? And...IS TOKIO THE MANEATER THAT ATE HARUKI?!
Also, TOKIO IS MARU'S MOTHER! THE PERSON THAT HE'S LOOKING FOR IS HIS TWIN SIBLING!
This is so fucked, and I have to know what happens next!

You hate the plural community or are you joking?
Honestly, anon? I kind of do.
I hate how such a large part of the community is genuinely incapable of separating fictives from their canon counterparts. You see hosts (or even fellow fictives) talk about their fictives like that one person I reblogged did. I've seen hosts giggling about their fictives refusing to talk to them because they're upset that the host is writing fic about the fictive's trauma. I've seen people RP their fictives -- not the canon counterpart but the literal fictive.
We've gotten treated like shit by people -- even lost friends! -- because they assumed our fictives had to be just like their canon counterparts. Our partner system has gotten treated badly because they're dating us and we have ~problematic introjects~.
And that's just the part concerning fictives. I could go on a long damn rant about how exhausting it is when people lie and make up headspace/inworld/"back home" drama for attention. When they exaggerate, fake, and lie to seem more valid/interesting/cool. How frustrating it is to see through people -- even friends -- and not be able to speak up about it, because in this community, you blindly validate everyone or you get shunned and put on a blocklist.
I could go on about how hilariously ironic it is that the community that cares oh so much about ableism will gladly have their headmates quiirktype 2 2eem more valiid (quirktype to seem more valid), never mind how hard that makes it for people with dyslexia and screen readers to understand what's being said (and how quirktyping wasn't a thing in the community before the Great Homestuck Explosion of 2012).
I could go on about how exhausting it is to constantly see baby systems who know jack shit about plurality or community history barge in and act like they own the place and are a Voice of Knowledge and Reason (looking at you, anti-endo kiddos).
I could go on about how I want to scream whenever we're in a Discord server and wham, there comes yet another person claiming to be non-verbal and that that means they only can communicate through fucking emojis. Yes, individual headmates can absolutely be non-verbal, but that isn't being non-verbal. That's just trying to show how ~totes for real different omigosh~ y'all are from each other in the easiest way possible, kinda like quirk typing or having your headmate pretending to know a language they don't.
Helpful hint, actually? Those of us who are bi/multilingual can tell when you're not. And for the love of god, if you're gonna use Google Translate to pretend to speak another language, make sure you don't have any misspellings, because that just makes it even more obvious you can't actually speak the language.
I like plurality. I like individual systems. But I think the plural community is a toxic wastepit that has only gotten worse and worse since we first joined it back in 2011.
