Note
when people draw human version of lego we tend to focus on the skin color and characters proportion from where the theme of the show is taking, since it takes place in china so there bound to be asian but im not critizising your drawing of mokie kid are really good just some advice
While drawing MK I was wondering if I should use the classic yellow for his skin color or use a more realistic skin color.
I’ll keep using the yellow for now since it looks like it fits more the style I’m currently using

Mortal Kombat 11 Resurrects the True King of Fighters
Mortal Kombat is back...again! With MK 11, the core fighting is better than its been in the longest time. Filled with a bunch of stuff for fans to love, it’s a shame its progression really makes the whole thing drag sometimes.

If there is any fighting game series that seems to get better with age, it is definitely Mortal Kombat.
As Street Fighter, Marvel Vs. Capcom and Dead or Alive seem to falter under the weight of ambition or lack thereof. Unless your name is Super Smash Bros., shipping with very little content and a bevy of technical issues is the norm among fighting games.
Then came Mortal Kombat in 2011. A masterpiece of fighting, this reboot of the long-running fighting series was full of modes, characters, and way more unlockables than any sane person can even dream to unlock. It was and still is the best fighting game of the modern era, something yet to be topped.
But we can’t deny that NetherRealm Studios has been trying their damnedest to get there. Now, after two DC-themed fighting games with the Injustice duology and Mortal Kombat X (pronounced as the letter X funnily enough), the team is back to deliver the eleventh main installment in its most popular franchise.
The results? Well, they are pretty damn good.
Mortal Kombat 11 is a finely tuned fighter. Taking the best elements from the 2011 reboot and X, 11 is a much slower game than its predecessors. That slower speed does not reflect poorly on the gameplay itself, if anything, it makes it a lot smoother. Now, combos are a bit easier to land while giving you a much fairer way to see attacks. Instead of rushing into fights like before, I’ve had to change up my strategies, working on keeping my defensive game strong.
That change to the kore (I’m sorry) fighting is a welcome one. The fighting is as meaty as X, with each punch, kick, stab or supernatural element feeling as brutal as the last. With that comes an extensive suite of tutorials. Being the fighting game chump that I am, I was happy to have tutorials for everything. Characters, Fatalities and even frame data are given their own sections.
Unfortunately, what those tutorials don’t help you with is the grind. Mortal Kombat 11 has some of the worst methods of distributing loot. Basically, you have to fight your way through these live towers, they are timed and rotate every so often. These towers are filled with some pretty unfair fights, feeling cheap and unwarranted honestly.
The most egregious part is how the loot is randomized. The classic Krypt is now played in a third person perspective. As charming and filled with fan-service as it is, the fact that the chests are randomized and require a bunch of different currencies. Loot can range from costumes to fatalities to some pretty cool concept art but there is no fun way to unlock it all.
Every tower battle is a drag and I rarely feel like I’m earning anything. It feels like I’m working way too hard to unlock a costume for Scorpion, only to get costumes for characters I will never touch.
Not that I haven’t used a good chunk of the roster, because that’s exactly what the story mode had me do.
Picking up where Mortal Kombat X left off, the story follows the characters from the original games with their children. When Raiden messes up and disturbs the balance of good and evil, past versions of Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Jax, and others start colliding with their future selves.
The story can be described as dumb, which is all it ever needs to be. Filled with twists and turns and featuring a ton of fan-service for longtime players, it is the perfect celebration of this long-running franchise. The fights never felt too hard and the story itself was delightfully cheesy, something that makes the newer MK games stand out among its contemporaries. The cutscenes also feature some pretty great fight choreography, looking like it came straight out of an action film.
Mortal Kombat 11 is a game that is fighting itself at times. It plays much better than X, featuring all the necessary tweaks to its formula to make it the best playing tournament fighter of this generation. Unfortunately, that all comes with a hefty dose awful and predatory progression, something that is being patched as we speak.
Even with those problems, there is no denying that the team at NetherRealm made a phenomenal game, one that will be in my rotation for months to come.
Now, if you excuse me, it’s time to test my luck in that Krypt to get my next Scorpion skin.
Score: 4/5
+Overflowing with content
+Fun story filled with a lot of fan-service
+Fighting mechanics are the best they have been since Mortal Kombat (2011)
-Unlockables and progression are painful

MCU Challenge musings
Tumblr media
18 weeks. 18 films. The MCU Challenge. In collaboration with Team #Geekstalkers. Collated musings below, all leading to Infinity War.
Tumblr media
#1 - Iron Man
Robert Downey Jnr IS Tony Stark, Tony Stark IS Iron Man, Iron Man IS the first MCU Avenger. Without this we wouldn’t have the MCU as we know and love it. Despite that, coming soon after Batman’s triumphant return as it does, I can’t help but feel the identikit Iron Man Begins falls a little flat. The weak MCU villain problem is present and incorrect right from Mk 1 too.
Tumblr media
#2 - The Incredible Hulk
Tonally misjudged and (latterly) at odds with the hulk as we know and love him in the shared MCU. Watching now, 15 entries later, it feels non-canon. As a standalone, inspired by the 70s show, it’s fine.
Tumblr media
#3 - Iron Man 2
Probably [one of] the weakest #mcuchallenge entries for me as it aims for “cool” moments rather than developing character or overarching story. On the flipside, it introduces us to ScarJo’s Black Widow
Tumblr media
#4 - Thor
In no particular order: the direction of Branagh, the realisation of the Rainbow bridge, the triple H acting of Hemsworth, Hiddleston and Hopkins, the hilarious humour, the majesty of Mjolnir, the Shakespearean plot machinations; all are Thor-some!
Tumblr media
#5 - Captain America: The First Avenger
I (too) was predisposed to preferring this origin above all Avengers due to my predilection for Captain America as a character, so the bar was set high. Johnson, the perfectly chosen director, exceeded it by making a boys own adventure replete with echoes of his Lucasfilm roots. It’s underrated in my opinion and should be considered as the Raiders of Phase One. Joe Johnson just *got* 1940s Adventure-era Cap. As too does Evans who only continues to get better with each subsequent appearance. I could watch Cap movies all day…
Tumblr media
#6 - Avengers Assemble
Still top 5 MCU of all-time. The Avengers characterisations are spot on in this initial assemblage; no mean feat considering the wealth of source material, the origins of Phase One and the balancing act of at least seven key roles. Come the epic Chitauri invasion finale and from the Avengers arc shot onwards there’s too many fist-pumping, geekgasm moments to mention; spine tingling each and every one of them.
Tumblr media
#7 - Iron Man 3
As a fanboy of @BonafideBlack’s buddy banter and noir stylings, I’m on board with his Iron Man entry (noir is an anagram of Iron after all) He write characters therefore it came as no surprise that his take delves beneath the suit to the mechanic that wears it. I’m aware I’m in the minority, but the first two don’t do much for me therefore this is like a shot of extremis to Shellhead’s previously floundering solo entries. It still looks to be Stark’s swansong and, if so, it’s a fine way to finish IMO. Kiss Kiss Iron Man, if you will. The “barrel of monkeys” scene is one of the stand out scenes from the entire MCU too.
Tumblr media
#8 - Thor: The Dark World
The tone, palette and plot of this inferior sequel is arguably more aligned with the much maligned DC(E)U rather than the rightly-lauded MCU; make of that what you will. I’d gladly watch an anthology prequel about the Lord of the Aether battle glimpsed in the prologue though…
Tumblr media
#9 - Captain America: The Winter Soldier
An espionage thriller every bit as good as the best Bourne or Bond has to offer, Captain America: The Winter Soldier just happens to have a few present and future Avengers at its centre. The undisputed leader of the Avengers as the 18-strong MCU currently stands, the more I revisit Captain America Super Soldier, the closer the film creeps towards my current cream of the big screen comic book crop, The Dark Knight.
Tumblr media
#10 - Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy is better than any film about a half-Terran cross between Han Solo and Indiana Jones, a walking thesaurus, a talking tree, a green-skinned warrior woman and a bad-tempered raccoon has any right to be. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve seen GotG already. There’s so much to admire, so much Galaxy to explore. it bears repeat viewing. Every joke still lands. Every emotional beat pulls a heart string. Every character is worthy of fronting their own galactic adventure. We. Are. Groot.
Tumblr media
#11 - Avengers: Age of Ultron
There’s much to admire in this movie as Whedon ably juggles the ever-growing ensemble cast; each one gets their moment so, no matter who your favourite is, you should feel satisfied come the conclusion. The action scenes pay off with key moments that remain in the memory: the team line-up, “Go to sleep, go to sleep”, Black Widow on the bike, Hawkeye motivating Scarlet Witch and the arc shot around the Avengers as they end the threat of too many Ultrons. Quiet moments pay off too: the party is perfect (especially Thor’s face as Cap moves Mjolnir), the interlude at ranch Barton is a top idea and the lull in the final fight manages to move; I even welled up a little as Cap and Widow debate their fate this watch. In short, it’s endlessly rewatchable, as my SuperSon has put to the test.
Tumblr media
#12 - Ant-Man
Easily the most underrated entry in the entirety of the MCU to date, Ant-Man is also, upon reflection, my favourite solo character origin story. Giant-sized words, I know!
Tumblr media
#13 - Captain America: Civil War
War! What is it good for? Captain America movies!
I love Civil War. It’s edgy. It;s important. It’s epic! It truly feels like a “superhero comic book movie” ripped from the panelled page. And, Thor damn, the Russo’s sure can shoot the shit (Sorry, Cap) out of an action scene. Speaking of scenes, there’s one in Fight Club when the Narrator and Tyler mock a Gucci advertisement, asking if it’s what a real man look like. It’s not, no. What a real man looks like is Captain America holding a helicopter with one arm and a building with the other. Swoon.
I could watch this on repeat all day.
Tumblr media
#14 - Doctor Strange
Let’s face it, Cumberbatch was the only choice for Strange, as suited to the hyper-intelligent, egotistical, socially-awkward auteur as Downey Jr was to Stark’s genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist. By this point in the MCU, Marvel can do origin with ease as this return to formula proves. Whilst Doctor Strange does remind you of movies from before (Iron Man, Batman Begins, Inception, Matrix), it patches them together into a kaleidoscopic Frankenstein of its own making.
Oh, one more thing: it goes without saying how awesome Doctor Strange’s enchanted Cloak of Levitation is – I’d argue it’s the single best cinema companion since Gromit!
Tumblr media
#15 - Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol Two
GotG amped up to 11, Vol. 2 is less a case of difficult second volume, more Gunn locked and loaded. GotG2 is deeper, richer and cleverer than it’s predecessor, if not as instantly iconic nor anarchic in its punk rock aesthetics or impact. Ego, we’ve all got to grow up sometime. Following the near perfection of the first Volume was always going to be a tricky proposition, but this sophomore space saga soars true enough and will surely, in time, serve as a solid central entry in a worthy Guardians of the Galaxy stand-alone trilogy.
Tumblr media
#16 - Spider-Man: Homecoming
Did I need another resuited Spider-Man movie so soon after the last aborted attempt? I didn’t think so until I saw this coming-of-age comedy that referenced Ferris Bueller, BttF: Part II and The Breakfast Club (among others)
Did I need another iteration of Spider-Man and his teen geek alter-ego Peter Parker? I didn’t think so until I saw Tom Holland’s infectiously enthusiastic and ultimately incomparable portrayal of everyone’s favourite neighbourhood webslinging wannabe Avenger.
Did I need another potentially disappointing take on a classic Spider-Man villain? I didn’t think so until Michael Keaton’s birdman soared above almost any other adapted antagonist from the entirety of comic canon – not since Loki have I feared and cheered in equal measure.
Did I need another big screen Spider-Man blockbuster? I didn’t think so until I understood what this wall-crawlers direction was under the genius creative control of chief Watcher Feige within the winning MCU. Now I need more, for thwips sake…
Tumblr media
#17 - Thor Ragnarok
Space fantasy as its Flash(“ahh ah”)iest, Ragnarok is: Thorsome, Hela good, Full of gloriously glib Loki asides, a Hulk load of fun, great Valkyrie for money! Third time’s the charm for the God of Thunder. I can’t TaikaWaititi to see the Revengers return in Infinity War!
Tumblr media
#18 - Black Panther
Stunning Wakanda world building. Convincing and charismatic cast performances. Strong character motivations. Serious and meaningful underlying themes. Too much CGI. MCU continuity issues. Nowhere near enough Michael B Jordan. Good not great. Middling MCU Challenge entry for me.

The Joker Dishes Out Maniacal But Hilarious Punishment In Latest ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ Gameplay Trailer
Source: NetherRealm Studios / WB Games
The first Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat 11 is almost complete, last month, Sindel’s addition to the growing roster closed out the year, now the maniacal Joker is looking kick things off for MK11 in 2020.
The developers went all out to bring the iconic DC super villain’s comedic style of violence to the world of Mortal Kombat. In the trailer, he pulls out all of his tricks to inflict tremendous amounts of damage while humiliating his opponents. Unfortunately, he is not voiced by Mark Hamill whos take on the character is legendary, but based on what we hear in the trailer, whoever they hired did a decent job.
We couldn’t say the same for the Terminator T-800, who was not voiced by Arnold Schwarzenegger but used the action star’s likeness to the game.
Anyway, back to the Joker, armed with a cane, exploding teeth, knives, and, of course, guns, he comes off as a force to be reckoned with. His x-ray attack is absolutely brutal as he torments his foe with a bevy of knife attacks before he closes out by pummeling his opponent into a bloody mess. Of course, his fatality takes the cake literally when he hands his staggered victim, a giant cake filled with explosives as a sign of “friendship.”
Shoutout to the MK developers for throwing the classic “friendship” logo from Mortal Kombat II in the game as part of the fatality.
The Joker joins the roster on January 28 as part of the early access for Kombat pack owners. As an added bonus and keeping with the DC Comics theme, they can also look forward to skins as well. Players can look forward to “Time Lord of Apokolips” Geras and the DC Elseworlds Skin Pack featuring the menacing “Darkest Knight” Noob Saibot, reptilian “Killer Kroc” Baraka and sleek “Katwoman of Outworld” Kitana.
You can watch the Joker get busy in the trailer below.

PUBG Mobiles next update could bring Zombie mode, new assault rifles, Tukshai vehicle and more
Tumblr media
Highlights: PUBG Mobile could soon be updated to version 0.10.5. The update is said to bring Zombie Mode to the game. The battle royale title might also get MK 47 Mutant and G36C assault rifles. Two Youtubers, GaMe LoVeRS and Mr.GHOST GAMING have uploaded new videos tipping at some of the new features PUBG Mobile might get with an upcoming update. There is no confirmation whether the upcoming update will feature version number 0.10.5 or 0.11.0, however, the update is said to release this month between January 18 to January 20. With the alleged upcoming update, the mobile version of battle royale title might soon get a Zombie Mode, which was anticipated to hit the game ever since the game developer released a teaser of the PUBG Mobile-Resident Evil 2 crossover at the conclusion of 2018 PUBG Mobile Star Challenge. It wasn’t clear if the teaser was simply for RE2-inspired skins or if it will actually bring a Zombie mode to the game, however, the new report suggests that it might be the latter. In addition to the Zombie mode, the videos suggest that game developers might soon migrate the death cam feature from the PC version of PUBG. The option enables users to re-watch how they were gunned down and it might help users device better strategies. The mobile version could finally get the MK 47 Mutant weapon, which supports the laser sight gun attachment with the upcoming update. The assault rifle was expected to make its way to the game with the now stable 0.10.0 update as it was available for beta players, but that didn’t happen. The G36C assault rifle, which replaces Scar-L in Vikendi map, could also be rolled out for the new map.  The game might also get the Tukshai vehicle, which is an autorickshaw already available for PC players and is exclusive to the Sanhok map. Dynamic weather will reportedly be made available for Erangel and Miramar as well and the game developers could add new emotes and Classic Voices in the game. The Vikendi snow map might finally move out of beta, as per the Youtubers, and an area in Erangel might feature snow area as well.  PUBG Mobile was recently updated to 0.10.0 and it added a bunch of new features to the game, including the Vikendi snow map. The new map features a bunch of new locations to explore like Cosmodrome, Dino Park, Mount Kreznic and more. It also adds a new snowmobile vehicle exclusive to the new map. PUBG Mobile developers recently rolled out a new feature that enables one to take Vikendi-themed photos. While a bit silly, the feature provides a break from the slew of updates and bug fixes that the game keeps getting.
