You were so sweet to fret over him when it was you with the vulnerable, fleshy body. It would take no effort at all for him to crush every bone in your hand, and yet you held his with infinite tenderness, flexing each silicone tendon as if checking for damage. Ramattra soothed away your concerns and instead welcomed you into his embrace, guiding you to sit between his folded legs. Back-to-chest, he faintly sensed your heartbeat as it pulsed regularly beneath your skin. Such an odd, unfamiliar thing to an omnic whose body thrummed with constant energy, but he found it a comfort. It meant you were alive, after all. You stretched to press your lips against the edge of his faceplate in a 'kiss' as you settled against him. There was little he could do to reciprocate your affections except to rest his head atop yours, curving himself around you to cocoon you against his front. He had neither the need for a heart nor a pair of lungs. Even still, he focused on the rhythm of your breathing as each exhale warmed the metal of his chassis, drawing his world smaller and smaller until it was the only sensation he registered. He had always wanted a brighter future for his people. As Ramattra sunk into his meditations, he understood with a startling realization that he wanted the future to include you at his side.

#this isn’t like a jab or anything it’s an observation. #the same way someone might look at a finished painting and not know the hours of work behind it #unless you’ve done that yourself you know? #I stand by podfics being an important transformative work in fandom. for accessibility and for just the joy of making them. #and highly recommend giving it a try to really understand how much work goes into giving you fanfic audiobooks lmao #but actually okay you don’t need to try I have some numbers right here if you’d prefer #so uh the one I’m working on now. it’s a fic about 1.7k words long. #which was about ~22 minutes of recording. the recording is the easiest shortest and. usually the most fun part. because saying words is fun #but anyway that 22 minutes got edited down to around the final runtime of 13 minutes. #(this is before I go through it again to see if I should re-record a line or two.) #(usually only do that if something got Monumentally messed up because it’s sometimes hard to make two different recording sessions sync up #and sound similar enough to not throw the listener off. for me anyway. I’m not the greatest editor rip.) #anyway so. 13 minutes of podfic. #so want to guess how long the first round of editing took? #about an hour. give or take. #this stuff is time consuming! worth it! but time consuming. #so what im saying is if you see podfics that are multiple hours long. salute your troops.

#crash 4 #holy shit can't believe i finally did #took me for fucking ever but all the n.sane relics are officially mine #now all that's left is to do the time trials and that shiny platinum trophy will finally be mine 😤 #fun thing though is how im supposed to respond if someone asks how long it took me #if we're counting from when i played the game for the very first time back in june #then eight months #but if we're starting from my ps4 harddrive shit the bed and i had to do EVERYTHING over from scratch #(and i mean literally everything like i had 30/38 of the n.sane relics) #then just 4 months #which is funny cause it took me like only a month to get 29 of those n.sane relics the first time #and then THREE MONTHS to get crash landed's #only to lose all that progress the very next day after i finally beat it #that level was giving me so many problems and for absolutely no reason #that being said this time i beat it in like a couple of hours so that was a plus sjkhskdfhsdf #contrary to what i sounds like though i actually beat each level WAY faster the second time around #only reason it took me longer was because i was only playing the game for like an hour a day and not the 8+ i had been doing before #successfully caught up to where i was before the fated crash (hehe) just before the new year #and completed the last eight levels plus the 6 flashback tapes i was missing over janurary #now to see how long those platinum time trial relics will take me lol

ok in other news i need to finish what i’ve estimates to be abt 15 hours of work more or less by the end of the day today and i even took an adderall and i even slept, for no apparent reason, 16 hours today??? despite sleeping a normal amount the previous several days??? but despite being well-slept, even obscenely so, and being medicated, both of which do help a lot, the mind still resists focusing on these tasks, instead visciously desiring to learn more and more about singer’s translation process and come up with cool new dictionary features and to share this with as many people as possible. please could this wait until tomorrow
