It Would Bring Us Together
Summary: The Class A dorms are abnormally empty on Halloween night and the few that are left aren’t allowed to leave. Their solution? A spooky movie night! That doesn’t bode well for a couple who has kept the simple fact that they are together a secret for over six months.
A VERY self-indulgent secret dating fic written in one sitting less than a week ago! The other ships are all sorta vague mainly because it’s a short fic.

“It’s gotta be The Exorcist! We can’t watch anything else on Halloween! That would be so lame!” Kaminari exclaimed, he had very strong feelings about the proper horror movie.
Class A had been very explicitly told that, unless their parents checked them out, they were not allowed to leave campus on Halloween. That ended with a majority of the class leaving and the rest planning a movie night in the dorms.
“Anyone have a problem with my amazing movie choice? No? Good! We’ll start around ten and watch all of them until we can’t keep our eyes open!” Kaminari took the relative silence as agreement.
“Wait who all is still here?” Sero was right, they needed to know so they had the right set up.
“Well us three, Bakubro, Mido, Shinsou, Shouto, and Iida.” Kirishima quickly supplied, he figured it out right away, he wanted to make sure… someone was there.
“Alright, Kiri you are in charge of getting Midoriya to the movie night!”
“What the hell Denks! Why me?” The confusion was evident in Kirishima’s voice.
“Cause I saw you stick your tongue down his best friend’s throat, so you get that honour!”
A dark blush fell over Kirishima’s face, nearly matching his hair.
“W-well, he’s also good friends with Shinsou! Why don’t you tell him!”
“Pendejos please, we get it! You’re both being gross with Midoriya’s friends.”
“Oh, that’s rich coming from you, Sero! How is Iida by the way?” Apparently, Kaminari was quick to call out his best friends.
The trio all backed off, knowing good and well how far they could go without realizing it. Kirishima spoke up once again.
“You know what, why don’t we just get Bakubro to do it?”
His friends nodded and called it a day before they had to decide who was going to tell Katsuki.
The next day rolled around and the remaining students were all eating in the common room, they were glad for the time off but they never knew how boring a Friday on campus could be.
“So let me get this straight. You shit heads planned a movie night for tomorrow, for the eight of us. As if we have any other choice than being here.” Katsuki’s flat tone made his sarcastic jab all the more hilarious.
“Well, when you put it like that it sounds dumb! But yes, and you can’t say no!”
“Everything you say sounds dumb, dunce face. But whatever sure.”
“You’re not going to argue? Or yell at me?”
“No what the fuck? Is that all you think I do?”
“Well no! But that’s what you usually do when we ask you to do stuff.”
“Yeah when there is going to be a band of 18 idiots there, I argue. This bull shit there’s only seven of you and I can pretty much guarantee you won’t be doing much talking.”
Kaminari blushed at the implication but knew the explosive blond was right.
“Oh yeah, one more thing. We kinda put you in charge of getting Midoriya there.”
Katsuki rolled his eyes before sighing softly.
“Of fucking course you did. OI NERD! Movie night tomorrow!”
Izuku quickly responded with a head nod and thumbs-up, not wanting to yell across the room.
“There, done. Anything else?”
Kaminari’s eyebrows were furrowed, the lack of complaint from Katsuki was really freaking him out.
His confusion was cut short, Izuku had made his way over to the pair of blonds.
“You said movie night tomorrow, right? What are we watching?”
“I don’t know, dunce face still hasn’t said. Probably some shitty horror flick though.”
“Hey! The Excorcist is not shitty!” Kaminari’s attention finally snapped back, he wouldn’t stand for the defamation of a classic.
“There you go, shitty horror flick, as I said.” Katsuki turned his attention to Izuku, not wanting to indulge whatever tangent Kaminari was ready to go on.
Izuku looked at Katsuki, trying to communicate something, before turning to Kaminari again.
“O-oh, I guess we’ll see how this goes! I’ve never been one for horror movies.” At best Izuku was fudging the truth, at worst he was telling a flat out lie.
Horror movies used to get to him, especially ones that relied on fear of the unknown to scare you but after… everything he had been through, a few ghosts seemed easy in comparison.
Katsuki’s head cocked to the side after Izuku’s remark, after a moment though he seemed to come to a realization.
“Of course a shitty nerd like you would be afraid of a dumb movie. I guess you’re stuck with me cause the rest of these fuckers are all paired off.” The two locked eyes once more, just for a second, and understood. Kaminari stood and watched the pair, unaware of their silent conversation.
“Alright well, we might have the day off but I can’t miss out on my training! Did you say you wanted to spar today Kacchan?”
“Duh, a spar is the best way to train, you’re a nerd you should know that.”
Izuku smiled and laughed lightly, making his way towards the locker rooms with Katsuki as they waved goodbye to their remaining classmates.
The pair separated to grab their gear and quickly made their way to a training ground. They fell into their normal routine and had gotten an effective amount of training in, within about an hour.
“Phew, I’m tired! You really had me moving today Kacchan!”
Katsuki smiled, a rare sight, before replying.
“Damn right I did! I gotta keep you on your toes Deku! Plus those shitty extras have been getting used to dodging high-powered attacks so I’m making sure I can shoot them out faster so those fucks still know where they stand.”
“If by getting used to you mean they are no longer getting singed on a weekly basis than sure, otherwise I’m pretty sure I’m the only one that can actually move out of the way of your explosions, and that’s just because I know you too well.”
“You’re damn right you know me, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.” A smug smirk graced Katsuki’s features, he really did love teasing Izuku.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Izuku smiled up at Katsuki before planting a sweet kiss on his cheek, reveling in the soft pink glow it caused.
Katsuki looked away trying to make his blush subside, he wasn’t doing so great. Izuku laughed lightly at the sight.
“Hey at least this movie night gives us a reason to cuddle, I can pretend to be scared shitless and you can comfort me to get me to shut up!”
“Remind me again why I’m dating you.” Katsuki jokingly raised his eyebrow at Izuku, as if he’d ever question it.
“Cause you think I’m adorable!” Izuku smiled brightly and scrunched his nose, only slightly unaware of what the sight did to Katsuki’s heart.
“Damn right I do.” Katsuki threw an arm over Izuku’s shoulder, glad that the Class A dorms were fairly empty, allowing them to show more affection without being afraid of being caught.
Although they were more than happy to keep their relationship a secret, unbeknownst to the other, each had been wondering what it would be like if everyone knew. Katsuki’s thoughts drifted to the small displays of affection Izuku was quick to throw around while they were alone, he would be able to do that all the time. Izuku, on the other hand, thought about finally being able to show everyone that they were taken, no more first years thinking they had a chance, no more of their friends pestering them to get into relationships, just them together.
They finally made it back to the common area and sadly separated, quickly joining their friends in playing cards.
The group was glad to have two more players, the more players meant the more intense it got, and Class A was very serious about their Uno.
They played for a few hours, Izuku noticed Iida more relaxed than he had ever seen him, he had to remember to thank Sero for that later.
The conversation never stayed in one place for long, between eight people and enough  extroverts to balance out the introverts, it made for an entertaining Friday.
Dinner came and went, since there were only eight of them instead of the usual twenty they decided getting take out was the best option. Everyone finally began to wind down for the night.
“I think I’m going to head to bed you guys, I want to get up early and grab a couple bags of candy and stuff to make candy apples, Mirio is coming by and I wanted him to drop them off with Eri.” The group fawned over the thought of little Eri and then said their goodnights to Izuku.
Katsuki went off to bed at the same time, already slightly later than he normally would.
The remaining six watched as the elevator stopped on the second floor before moving up to the fourth, they were all content to spend a little more time awake.
From the elevator, both Izuku and Katsuki stayed on after it stopped on the second floor, only making sure it stopped there incase their classmates were paying attention to the dinging.
The couple both walked into Katsuki’s room, following their normal nightly routine, glad to spend some more time together.
After getting changed they got into bed, automatically snuggling in close. The soft light from the night lamp made Katsuki look like he was glowing, Izuku thought it was fitting.
“What are you smiling about?”
“The light makes you look like an angel.”
Katsuki blushed, Izuku’s tired voice made it all the cuter.
“Tch, you damn nerd you need to get some sleep.”
Katsuki quickly flicked off the lights and pulled Izuku impossibly closer, they were both asleep within minutes.
The next day Izuku stayed true to his word, he brought candy for the dorm and enough supplies to make the candy apples, making sure to have extra for their movie night.
Mirio came by and said hello to everyone before taking the sweet treats to Eri.
The group spent the rest of the time cleaning and arranging the common room so it was a perfect setup for their movie night. Kirishima and Todoroki chose the right side of the screen to place their blankets and cushions while Kaminari and Shinsou did the same on the opposite side. Sero and Iida set up little ways from Kaminari and Shinsou, leaving one spot for Izuku and Katsuki.
Kaminari was adamant about waiting until after sundown to start the movies so they decided to have a small dinner so they didn’t feel so bad stuffing their faces with sweets later on.
Finally, Kaminari declared the timing perfect, and they were able to settle down for the night.
They all made themselves comfortable, most of them already cozy with their date. Izuku and Katsuki notably started about a foot from each other, each mourning the cold air between them.
“Alright Mido, I know you said horror isn’t your thing but instead of screaming just hide behind Bakubro, this TV isn’t loud enough to drown out a scream.” The whole group laughed at Kaminari’s antics, only being fueled by the serious look he donned.
“Alright alright! I won’t scream!”
Kaminari seemed happy with that and allowed the movie to play, plunging the room into eerie darkness as the opening screen faded in.
Izuku waited almost exactly ten minutes before scooting closer to Katsuki and motioning for him to do the same, needless to say, the other pairs were distracted.
Once they were finally able to lean against each other, they both felt as if they could breathe better, not realizing how much comfort they gained from a simple touch. Underneath their blankets Katsuki laced their fingers together, closely watching Izuku’s face to make sure he didn’t overstep.
The simple action warmed Izuku’s heart, this is what he wanted all the time! Rather than getting into that in the middle of the movie, Izuku simply let his head rest on his boyfriend’s shoulder.
Izuku looked around at his friends, he saw the fond look Shinsou gave Kaminari as he mouthed along the lines of the movie, he saw Iida more relaxed against Sero than he ever thought he could be, and he saw Todoroki asleep against Kirishima, still gripping him tightly. The thought that he and Katsuki could be like that made his heart squeeze, that’s exactly what he wanted.
Eventually, the next movie began, they had all five lined up and ready to go so they didn’t have to move if they didn’t want to. Everyone’s eyelids were drooping partway through the second movie, around 1 A.M. Izuku couldn’t bring himself to care about whatever the others thought, he got comfortable next to Katsuki and allowed himself to drift off.
Katsuki could tell Izuku wouldn’t mind being found laying together, so he wrapped his arm around Izuku’s waist pulling his face into his chest, just how they normally slept. Once again it only took them minutes to properly fall asleep.
The next morning Izuku was woken up by Katsuki pressing a kiss to his forehead. He began to blink the sleep out of his eyes before slowly realizing they were all very much in the common room. His eyes drifted towards Katsuki, he wanted to make sure he was okay with whatever was happening before he said anything. He was met with a small smile and crimson eyes watching him.
He smiled back, glad to know that even without talking about it he and Katsuki had been on the same page.
“Mmhh Morning Kacchan.” Izuku leaned impossibly closer as he stretched and yawned.
“Morning nerd, how’d you sleep?”
Izuku smiled, every morning after they fall asleep together Katsuki asks him how he slept, without fail. He always responds the same way.
“Better because I was next to you.”
Izuku was aware he probably had a few of his friends watching him but he didn’t care, if Kacchan was okay so was he.
Eventually, all eight of them woke up and started their day. If anyone had seen their morning exchange they hadn’t mentioned it.
Katsuki went to make breakfast like normal and Izuku went in after him, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend’s waist as he cooked.
Once the food was served and they were all sat together Kirishima spoke up.
“So, how long have you two been a thing?” He spoke so casually just as he was about to take a sip from his coffee, the nonchalance settled Izuku’s nerves.
“Umm about six, almost seven months? Yeah, we got together a little before my birthday.”
Now this caused a reaction, they were expecting a few weeks at most, they never expected that the pair had been together since mid-April.
“Wait what?! Why didn’t you guys say anything?!” Kaminari’s voice went higher pitched than normal.
“Well at first it was so none of you dipshits put any pressure on us, we had enough of it on our own, and then eventually we just got used to it I guess.”
They had six sets of eyes flickering between them, eventually settling on looking confused. Izuku thought it was time for him to speak up.
“It went on a bit longer than we thought it would so here we are I guess.” Seeing their friends react normally helped keep them both calm, they never had a reason to keep them a secret after all.
Once the rest of the class got back on campus and found the pair curled together on a one-person couch reading there was a minor freak out, mainly consisting of squeaky congratulations and rapid-fire questions from their friends.
Izuku happily answered their questions so long as he didn’t have to move out of Katsuki’s lap, if he could help it he would never move.
From then on, they never hesitated to show affection, they never second-guessed what they were about to say, and they never felt the need to hide again.
Big big big thank you to @we-stanjirou for helping me through this fic and convincing me I could write it in less than a week! ILYYYY

The Failed Raid - A Gentle Recovery IV
The fervor from the failure of the raid was still going strong. The staff of UA were still trying to come to terms with what had happened. The students were still trying to understand what exactly had happened to begin with. And into this havoc had arrived two concerned souls.
“I swear I’m gonna tear the next idiot that gets in our way in half!” Well concerned if unblessed in social niceties. The two walking through the halls were Inko Midoriya and Mitsuki Bakugou, the mothers of Izuku and Katsuki who had been on the raid. They had seen Izuku’s injuries on the news report and had charged over to the school the instant they had been able to process what they saw. After Mitsuki had revived a fainted Inko that is.
The concerned mother of Midoriya hadn’t said much, too worried over her son to express many words. It was a sad fact of her life that Izuku tended to wind up injured on his path to becoming a hero. A fact that had become increasingly harder for her to cope with by herself. Izuku moving into the dorms had only increased her fears as she wouldn’t be able to see for herself that he was fine each day. Her husband Hisashi loved his wife and son dearly but his job overseas kept him from being involved as much as he wised to be. She was thankful she had Mitsuki and her husband to speak with about her concerns or she may have gone crazy with terror for Izuku.
“Do you think Izuku is okay?” the fretting mother asked her fiercer friend. Mitsuki’s already furious face grew angrier. “He better be! I swear if that kid doesn’t have all of his pieces I’m going go take down the punks responsible myself!” That was one benefit of the friendship between the two mothers. Mitsuki was hot blooded enough to get mad for both of them, unleashing her fury on the unsuspecting fools who dared look at the Midoriyas with anything less than kindly expressions. This wasn’t without it’s downsides of course. When a receptionist stopped them for a security check and was far more rude than they had any right to be in Mitsuki’s opinion she had let loose on them with verbal tirade that would terrify even hardened Villains. Unfortunately that had only inspired more attitude from the receptionist. Mitsuki’s husband had to step in to deescalate the situation. Surprisingly enough once she was calmed down he had grabbed the receptionist and threatened to tear out their kidneys and eat them raw if they weren’t allowed into the school. It had done the trick.
The duo finally arrived at the door to Izuku’s room and opened it, not prepared for what they would see.
------
Izuku’s snack time was going well for himself he thought. Uraraka and Eri were cutting up fruit and feeding it to him, not able to even slightly move his arms right now. He chanced a look at Uraraka. She had lost her smile, her mouth settled into a small “o” shape. Her eyes were half lidded, looking like she was intensely focused and yet not fully in reality. She appeared to be in a dream to Izuku, who couldn’t help but find her face like this entrancing. He blushed a bit at his staring and looked away but couldn’t help glancing back.
“Here you go Papa. A nice tasty strawberry!” The little unicorn who had declared Izuku her father offered up the sweet fruit with a just as if not sweeter smile. The pattern here would be Uraraka would cut up the fruit and Eri would feed it to him. As enjoyable as it was Izuku was starting to feel a bit too coddled. He wanted to at least try feeding himself. His arms weren’t feeling as sore so maybe he could at least try.
“Open up Papa the little bunny is going to it’s burrow.” Eri held up an apple slice cut to look like a rabbit. Izuku decided now was a good time to work on using his arms again. “Actually Eri why don’t you let me feed myself.” The young girl looked at him confused. “But you can’t use your arms right now Papa. We have to feed you.” “She’s right Deku.” Uraraka took notice of Izuku’s attempt at assertion. “Well they’re feeling a bit better now. So I’d like to try feeding myself.”
Uraraka’s face took on what could be called a caring glare, her effort at looking authoritative. “Oh no you don’t Deku. We are here to take care of you so don’t even think about overdoing it.” The green boy wasn’t deterred in the slightest. “It’s fine. See.” He went to grab the apple slice and despite great strain was able to pick it up. An unimpressed Uraraka easily took it away from him. “Now enough of that. We are your nurses. Right now our only concern is taking care of you. Now eat up.” She held up the apple slice for him to eat. Izuku was still trying to be stubborn. “But...” “Stop being stubborn. You can’t feed yourself right now. Let us do it for you. Now stop misbehaving or your nice nurse might have to punish you.” She said the last words with a bit of a teasing grin. Izuku was caught off guard by her brazen words. Uraraka held the apple rabbit up for Izuku to eat again. “Come on Deku. Open up.” She was almost sing-song in the declaration. Izuku decided it would be easier to humor her than fight on this and was about to do as she asked when he noticed the door to the room open, seeing his mother and Aunt Mitsuki standing there. They both seemed surprised by what they saw and the latter took charge of the situation.
“Whoops didn’t know you were busy. We’ll come back in a bit.” With that she quickly shut the door, leaving an embarrassed Izuku and Uraraka to wonder about their presence.
-------
Mitsuki broke out laughing after closing the door. “Hahahaha! Aw that kid. Here we are fretting over if he’s okay or not and that kid’s having the time of his life.” She looked at Inko who was sporting a relieved smile. “Thank goodness he’s alright.” Mitsuki smiled at her friend’s relief, internally happy her honorary nephew wasn’t in worse shape. “Okay let’s go in and see if we can’t embarrass the kid the to death.”
The room’s residents had been surprised to receive visitors but they weren’t when said visitors returned. “Hi Nana! Hi Auntie!” Eri was about the only one already in the room who wasn’t slightly bashful at their visitors. She ran over and got a hug from her adopted grandmother, Mitsuki silent with literal stars in her eyes at being called “Auntie”. She absolutely adored the little unicorn, the closest she was going to be getting to grandchildren for the foreseeable future given her son was pretty much a goblin. Inko looked at Eri with a playful curiosity. “So what are you doing?”
Eri smiled and spoke with pride and joy. “Me and mama are being Papa’s nurses!” Inko spared a look at her son and the girl she was quite certain would one day be her daughter in law. The round faced girl stood up from where she was sitting once the mothers had walked in, not wanting to create a bad impression. Inko then turned her attention back to her honorary granddaughter. “Oh are you now?” The kind smile never left Inko’s face. Eri nodded happily. “Yep. We’ve been making sure his bed is nice and soft and we also fed him cause he can’t even lift his own food. We even blew bubbles with him!” The young girl was excitedly going on about how she and her mother had been tending to her father. It was a sight that would melt even a heart of stone.
Mitsuki finally exited her cuteness induced stupor. “Oh aren’t you a good girl. Making sure your Papa gets all better. Do you know what good girls get?” Eri shook her head in confusion. Mitsuki smiled widely. “They get cuddles!” The hot blooded woman scooped the little unicorn up in a great big hug, rubbing her cheek against Eri’s. The young girl certainly didn’t mind, happy with the contact.
Uraraka was now rather nervous. Her crush’s mother had seen her actually acting like a nurse to him! She desperately wanted to escape. And an idea for how to do so just popped into her head! “Ah-uh... Tea! I should get some tea for you! Eri would you like to see how you make tea properly?” The young girl eagerly nodded, always happy to spend some time with her mother. She managed to squeeze herself out of Mitsuki’s arms, much to the passionate woman’s disappointment. Inko smiled at the mother-daughter duo. “Why don’t I join you dear? We did stop by unannounced.” Uraraka raised her hands and shook her head. “Oh no that’s not necessary. You came all the way here. I don’t mind. Really.” But Inko would not be deterred. “Oh but I insist. You’re already doing so much for Izuku. I want to help as a thank you.” What was it with mothers being able to make you feel guilty no matter what you did. Having surrendered this battle of wills that she never stood a chance in Uraraka led the way out of the room, her daughter and the woman she was certain would one day be her mother in law following her.
Left in the room were Izuku and Mitsuki, who took a seat next to the injured boy. She brought out a wide smile at him, her head in her hand. “Well someone’s having fun now aren’t they?” At Izuku’s confused look she continued. “Got your own personal nurses and everything. I swear this school really does go beyond when it comes to service. Mmh, mmh, mmh. I mean really you get an adorable unicorn fussing over you. And that Ura girl. Oh it’s so precious. She’s helping you heal and tending to you like a dedicated wife.” Mitsuki was waving her head back and forth through her statement, excited over the young romance she was witnessing.
Izuku was far less pleased with her words. Blushing dark red at her words he tried to convince her otherwise. “Oh nonononono. It’s not like that between us. It’s just... Eri is usually so withdrawn and not outgoing. It was a surprise that she pushed for something like this and we didn’t want to discourage her. That’s all.”
Mitsuki lost the teasing grin on her face, now sporting a frown at the boy. “You know you’re allowed to enjoy this right?” Izuku looked at her in surprise and a bit of confusion. Mitsuki sighed at his dense nature. “You are just like your father in the worst ways. That girlfriend of yours didn’t get dressed up like that because of the kid. She did because she wanted you to see her in it.” Izuku was disbelieving to say the least. “What? No. That’s not... It’s just because of Eri isn’t... Do you really think that’s the truth?” Mitsuki looked at him with sympathy. “Of course it is. Take advice about women from an actual one alright.”
Izuku thought over his honorary aunt’s words. Uraraka wasn’t doing this whole thing just for him... right? There’s no way. It was all for Eri. But there was a part of him that honestly wished she was doing this for him. Not just because their adopted daughter was pushing for it. “Now...” He got taken out of his thoughts by Mitsuki’s voice. “Let’s talk about how you’ve been treating your future wife.”
Izuku really wished he could always remember that Kacchan’s mother seemed to live and breath by her hobby of trying to embarrass him to death.
------
It was a tense silence as Uraraka and Inko were preparing the tea and coffe. Tense for the floating girl at least. Inko seemed quite content, which did nothing to put the young hero in training at peace. She had decided to work on the tea, adding some lemon flavor to the current brew. Inko meanwhile was working on coffee, having just added a french vanilla creamer to her concoction. Eri watched on with rapt attention, honestly quite curious at how tea and coffee were made. Whenever Aunt Yaomo had a tea party with her the tea was already made. It was something special for the young unicorn.
Finally Inko decided to end the silence. “There’s something I’d like to say to you young lady.” Uraraka instantly stood up straight and turned to look at Inko. This is exactly why she wanted to get away from the plump woman. To avoid being interrogated! “Thank you.” Those were not words Uraraka was expecting to hear. “Izuku... hasn’t had an easy life.” The older woman didn’t turn around, so neither of the other occupants of the room could see the sad look in her eyes.
“For his entire life Izuku has always loved heroes.” She gained a gentle smile on her face. “He admired them so much. And it wasn’t because of their Quirks or how they seemed invincible or anything like that. He respected that they were people who chose to help others no matter what. And he wanted nothing more than to be just like them. Ever since he first learned to walk and talk.” Uraraka wasn’t surprised but now had a look of confused worry on her face.
“He wanted nothing more than to be a hero. But... the world seemed to have other plans.” Inko lost her smile. “For so long we thought he didn’t have a Quirk. And the people around us... they were less than kind.” And that was certainly underselling it. Memories of her dear baby boy being pushed down and called names when children thought no one was watching. Memories of how other adults would look at her with pity or condescension or whisper insults about her “lacking child” when they thought she couldn’t hear them. “He was... is... so kind. He just wanted to be a hero because it would give him a chance to do the right thing for others. And all anyone ever saw was how he would never fit into their view of society.” Inko had to stop to keep herself from crying.
Uraraka grew saddened as well, and internally a bit angry. Deku was the sweetest guy she ever met! So what if he didn’t have a Quirk for most of his life? He was still one of the most noble, caring and heroic people in the world! There were a lot of Pros who could take lessons from him in being heroes!
“It wasn’t easy for him.” Inko was able to continue on. “I was always there and did my best to give him the support he needed but it just wasn’t enough. My husband, bless his heart, was there for us as much as he could possibly be but his work kept him far busier than any of us would have liked. No one really wanted to be friends with a Quirkless child. The only one he really had with him was Katsuki.” And Inko suspected the child of her best friend hadn’t been the greatest friend to her son.
“And then one day that all changed.” Uraraka perked up at the apparent change in course. “After he started here at UA he started talking about the people he met. The friends he made.” At that Inko couldn’t stop the smile on her face. “And the first one he ever spoke about was you.” And now there was a light blush on the girl’s round face. Along with a gentle smile. “The first time he ever told me about the girl who saved him during the entrance exam. It was the happiest I had ever seen him in a very long time.” Oh Deku had to stop being so flattering. “As his time here has gone on he told me more and more about the friends he was making. But you were always the one he told me about the most.” Oh dear it seemed the floating girl’s heart was fluttering on wings now. “So I wanted to say thank you. For being my son’s friend. And for seeing him. Not just what he can do.”
Uraraka had to turn around. No longer willing to risk letting her face be seen. She was embarrassed, elated and uncertain all at once. Geez Deku made her sound so... amazing! She brought her hands over her heart, hoping it would slow it down a bit. “You know... Deku saved me.” Now it was Inko’s turn to look at Uraraka, who was facing away from anyone else. “In the entrance exam I got stuck under some debris and couldn’t escape. Everyone else had run off when a giant robot appeared. But Deku charged in to save me. He didn’t have a single point but he did everything he could to save someone in trouble.” Uraraka’s face was now sporting a gentle smile. “Izuku... is a true hero.” She almost whispered it out, given how softly the words were said.
Inko had to keep herself from crying. Ever since that fateful day at the doctor’s Inko prayed for someone, anyone, to look at her son for the kind and caring young man he truly was. Not at how he how he couldn’t measure up to the standards that society had deemed were needed for excellence. And it appeared that the powers beyond had a moment of sympathy and compassion for her child. ‘Izuku... You’ve made some wonderful friends!’
Eri looked between her mother and grandmother. She did understand what they were saying. To a degree. Apparently Papa wasn’t treated too nicely (which made her sad) until he got the school and met Mama (which made her happy). Though she was wondering what any of that had to do with tea. And she decided to voice her thoughts. “Is the tea ready yet?”
The two older women were snapped out of their reverie by the youngest of them speaking. Uraraka looked at her with a smile. “Yes it is sweetie. Let’s go take it to your Papa.” With that declaration the women grabbed the brews they had been working on and made their way back to the room housing the boy who connected them together.
--------
The three females had finally returned to the room, carrying hot beverages. “Okay tea’s ready!” Uraraka said cheerfully. “Yeah. Now we have something nice to drink for Cookie Time!” Count on Eri to make adorable childlike comments. Mitsuki had to hold herself back from cuddling the unicorn girl to pieces. “Oh how thoughtful of you all. I haven’t enjoyed a Cookie Time in ages!” Yeah Mitsuki wasn’t definitely enthralled by Eri’s inherent adorability. Hard to blame her. Sweets and sweet drinks with an adorable unicorn like Eri. Who could resist that?
Mitsuki’s words had triggered something in Eri’s mind. She had an idea form that was inspired by a cookbook picture she had seen. She proceeded to tug on Inko’s skirt, getting her grandmother’s attention. Said grandmother looked at her with a smile. “Yes sweetie?” Eri beckoned with her finger, leading the older woman to bend down. The little unicorn whispered her idea into her Nana’s ear. Said Nana clearly thought it was a good idea.
“That’s a fine idea sweetie.” She stood up to look at her son. “Eri here has something she’d like to do for Cookie Time and wants my help for it. We’ll be back in a bit.” As unicorn and grandmother made their way out the door Mitsuki got up. “Hold up you two I want in on this.” Izuku looked at her a bit surprised. “You want to go with them?” Mitsuki gave him a look accentuated by a mischievous grin. “What you thought I was here for you? Heck no. I want me some cuddles! And the only source of those for miles around is on her way elsewhere. So later!” The fierce tempered woman quickly made her way over to her friend. Eri took Inko’s hand, leading her forward. “Come on Nana it’s this way.” Inko smiled indulgently at her granddaughter and said nothing as she was lead along. Mitsuki shot one last teasing grin at Izuku before closing the door. “Have fun you two.”
With her final words Mitsuki had made Izuku and Uraraka keenly aware that they were by themselves in the room. Said realization had them nervous and starting to blush, wondering how to process this development. They wouldn’t have to wait long before they had company yet again however.

Give those two a push, Class 1A!
Summary:
The students of Class 1A are not blind to the fact that their teacher, All Might, is having a bit of a romantic problem. So they decide that it cannot wait any longer... and Aizawa catches them Red-handed.
Notes:
This story was inspired by a fanart I found on pinterest. It was a picture of All Might and Inko walking down a street, All Might holding an umbrella since it raining. In the background, you could see several students of Class 1A watching them, as if they had planed it. So I came up with this idea! Also, anyone agree that Inko should be shown more in the series? After all, isn't she the woman raising humanity's next All Might? AND she's doing it on her own! Share your oppinion in the comments (if you wish).
This is the picture:

"You know, I noticed that All Might was staring at your mom yesterday during the School Meeting, Deku." Urakawa said. "Yeah, I saw that too. It's been going on like that for some time..." the green-haired boy said. "Ooooh, All Might has a love interest!" Mina sing-sang, making some of the students giggle. "Guys, class is about to start." Momo said without looking up from the notebook she was writing on. "Yes, but All Might is in need of a push, don't you think?" Hagakure piped up. There was a short-lived silence. "Are you saying that we should set them up?" Asui asked slowly. "Yeah!" Hagakure said. "Um... is that a good idea?" Midoriya asked, a little doubtful. "Why shouldn't it?" the invisible girl asked cheerfully. "That's what happened to my parents!" "All Might and Deku's Mom are not your parents, though." Iida said. "I agree with Hagakure," Kaminari said. "I think that we should-" "Good morning," Eraserhead swept in through the door, heading straight to his desk. The class instantly fell silent. Had he heard them? "In case you are wondering, yes, I heard you. But I am also tired of having to watch those two dance around each other like moths around a godamn light. So long as you don't do anything stupid, like setting a fire so that All Might can rescue her or something, I will allow this to go on. And if they find out, don't tell them about what I just said. Now, let's get started with the lesson." The class was shocked and relieved at their teacher's speech. He had heard them, but he was allowing them to give All Might and Inko a little nudge.
"It will rain today," Bubblegirl said, glancing up at the sky. "You should get an umbrella, Mirio. I can lend you one if you want." "Thanks!" Mirio replied cheerfully. "Come, Eri." Bubblegirl gave him an umbrella and he and Eri left the agency just as the first drops of rain began to fall. "We will take the train to the shopping mall. What do you think, Eri?" Mirio asked the small girl besides him. "Yes!" she replied, giving him a huge, adorable smile. He beamed back at her, leading the way to the train station.
"Aww, shucks. It's raining." Kirishima said as they aproached the main doors. "The sky was clear earlier this morning," Midoriya said, shouldering his backpack. "I didn't bring an umbrella." "Problem solved," Momo said, holding out umbrellas for everyone. "Wow! Thanks, sempai!" Urakawa said, taking one. "So... anyone know what we will do about Inko and All Might?" "Well, my mother said that she was going to the mall... I could get All Might to come too?" Midoriya suggested. "Smart! And then, you guys meet her and then we will come and you can tell them that you will be with us." Mina said with a bright smile. "I can tag after them closely since I am invisible," Hagakure said. "Ooooh, that's a good idea!" Ojiro said, his tail wagging. "I will come because I need to get more soba anyways." Todoroki said quietly (truth was, he was also curious about how it would turn out...). "I will too!" Mina said. Soon, Urakawa, Iida, Ojiro, Mina, Hagakure, Todoroki, Kirishima, Jiro, Tsuyu, Momo and Bakugou (whom Deku had managed to drag along in some miraculous way) were heading for the mall. Sato, Aoyama, Denki, Sero, Tokoyami, Mineta, Shoji and Koda already had plans for the evening. Midoriya went back into the school, umbrella clutched in his right hand, and ran into All Might himself, crashing painfully to the floor. "Midoriya, my boy!" All Might said with surprise. "I didn't see you coming! Are you alright?" "Yup." Midoriya said, tears of pain stinging his eyes. All Might helped him to his feet. "Where you going home?" All Might asked. "No. Actually, I was looking for you. Would you like to come with me to the mall? I need to get some new clothes, and my mother is not free today..." Midoriya said. "Well, I don't have anything else to do today and I could do with a walk. Problem is, I haven't got an umbrella." All Might replied. "We can just share mine..." he said, holding his up. "All right then. Shall we get going?" Al Might asked, pulling on his jacket.
The two of them exited the school and headed for the train station. Many people stared at All Might, and there was a great deal of muttering and pointing as they walked past, but not hostile. After all, he had once been the world's number 1 hero before his fight with All for One. Soon the two of them were entering the shoping mall, which was less crowded than usual due to the rain outside. Midoriya spotted Ojiro sitting on a bench next to the fountain placed in the center of the mall. His fellow friend gave him a subtle thumbs up. Midoriya replied with a tiny nod to show he understood. His phone pinged and he fished it out of his pockets. It was a text from Iida: Localitation of your mother has been found. She is on the second floor, about to use the elevator. Hagakure is sneaking in with her. it read. "Anything wrong, my boy?" All Might asked. Midoriya pocketed the phone. "Nah. Let's go up to the second floor. I heard there's a good shop up there..."
The two of them walked up to the elevator. Midoriya pressed the button and both waited patiently. Then the doors opened to reveal Inko standing inside the elevator, carrying two shoping bags. She stepped outside and noticed the other two. "Oh! Izuku! All Might!" she said with a laugh, "You nearly gave me a heart attack." "My apologies, Miss Inko." All Might said, keeping his conposture. Midoriya didn't miss the faint blush that colored his sharp cheek bones. He made his amused smile into a cheerful, innocent one. "Ha ha, Mom! I didn't expect to find you here!" he said. He felt a tiny nudge on his hand and knew it was Hagakure. "Neither did I. What are you two doing here?" Inko asked. "I was going to go by some clothes. I invited All Might along since you weren't available and he agreed because he didn't have anything to do for the rest of the afternoon." Mirodiya explained. "Well then, I shouldn't keep the two of you," Inko said, adjusting her grip on her bags. "Hey! Midoriya! Watcha doing here?!" they all turned to see Kirishima runing towards them. "Bakugou, Denki and I are gonna go to Virgin and see if we can get some suppost items for Denki. Wanna come?" "Sure!" Midoriya said. Then he looked at the other two adults. "If that's fone with the two of you…?" "Of course, Izuku. All Might, uh, would you like coffee or something else...?" Inko asked. "I could do with some tea." he said, giving Midoriya a look that seemed to say We will speak about this later. "Okay! I will see you later, then!" Midoriya said with a wave, walking after Kirishima. "Did you see him blush? I saw him blush!" Hagakure said with a giggle, "I've never seen All Might blush! I should have taken a picture of it... The media would go crazy within days!" "Better leave it as it is. I don't think All Might would like it." Kirishima said. The turned a corner to find the others waiting for them. "So? How was it?" Mina asked. "I think he suspects, but they are gonna have a snack or something." Midoriya said. "This is so fun!" Urakawa said with a laugh. "It feels like we are doing a super secret mission!" "Well, we better move or we will loose them!" Hagakure said. "Come on, class!" Iida said, walking out of their corner. The others quickly followed. "I think we should split into groups or we might get found. Bakugou, Kirishima, Tsuyu and Mina, you guys could be one group. Urakawa and Jiro. Todoroki and Iida could be another. I will be with Ojiro and Deku. Hagakure, you tag along close behind them." Momo said. "I think she already did..." Jiro said. There was a short silence. "Yup. Let's get moving!" Kirishima said excitedly. They all split ways, heading in different directions but all walking down the same way and looking as innocent as they could. Todoroki and Iida went into the café that All Might and Inko where in and took seats on a table not too far from them, looking at the two adults over the newspapers they were using as face shields.
All Might and Inko sat at a table, unaware that they were being monitored by Class 1A's students. They had just finished ordering their drinks (All Might had ordered black tea and Inko had gotten a latte). "I am sure that you and I both know what this is all about, right?" Inko quietly asked All Might. "I've know Izuku ever since he was born, after all..." "I apologize for this." All Might said, cheeks slightly pink (Hagakure placed her hands firmly over her mouth to stiffle the giggle that was craling up her throat. She couldn't believe it was going so well!). "It's fine. They are kids after all..." Inko said with a little wave of her hand. "But, uh, I didn't expect them to... well..." the two of them fell into an awkward silence. They were rescued by the arrival of their drinks. All Might focused on sipping at his, trying to keep his face free from any emotion that could betray his nervousness and unease.
"I feel like we might have to wait for something to happen," Ojiro quietly told Momo and Mirodiya. "They know our intentions!" Hagakure whispered, making the three of them jump. "Uh... is that bad…?" Mirodiya whispered. "They are mostly awkward." the invisible girl said. "I'm going to go see what they are speaking about." Several minutes passed before she returned. "They are talking about school. They seem a little more comfortable around each other. That's good, right?" "Yes. Go keep an eye on them." Momo replied. "Deku, what are you-?" Mirodiya had his phone to his ear. The heard All Might's ringtone suddenly blast ("YOU HAVE A CAAAAAAAALLLLL-- "). All Might stood and excused himself for a minute or so.
"WhAT Is THe MEanInG oF THiS, MIDoRiyA?! " All Might hissed. "Uh..." "I know what this is all about, so don't deny that you and whoever else is with you are trying to set Inko and I in a date!"  "Um..." "Midoriya?! 'Um' is not an anwser to my question!" "Look... just... get to know her. And it wasn't only us, you know. Aizawa sensei also-" "What?" "Don't get mad at him!" Midoriya quickly said. "We just-" "Just give me that," his phone was ripped out of his hands by Bakugou, "What Deku here is trying to kindly tell you is just fucking get over with it because they are all fucking bored of whatever is keeping you and Deku's mother appart. " he then ended the call. "Kachan!" Midoriya gasped. Bakugou shoved his phone back into hks hands. "Sometimes you have to get to the godamn point, idiot." he said. Moments later, Kirishima, Mina and Tsuyu ran up to them. "We tried to stop him," Mina panted. "It's okay-" "Guys! Look!" Tsuyu said. They all turned their heads to All Might and Inko's table. They were talking in low voices, All Might ocasionally chuckling and shaking his head. Soon they had finished their drinks, All Might paying for them. Then they watched them as they walked out of the café's terrace, talking. "Come on!" Iida said as he and Todoroshi left their table. Soon they were all sneaking after them. "What happened? All Might looked kinda agitated back there..." Urakawa asked Midoriya. "I called him in the phone and then Kachan took it from me and told him his thoughts." Midoriya replied. "Ah..." Jiro said with a quiet laugh.
"They are going outside," Todoroki said. "I will make raincoats for everyone." Momo said. Within moments, they were following the two adults, dressed in raincoats. Hagakure was also wearing one, not keen on getting wet in the freezing cold rain. Midoriya felt like a spy from a mission impossible movie as they all snuck after All Might, who held Midoriya's umbrella, and Inko, keeping themselves at a safe distance. Some of them, like Iida and Mina, actually hid behind bushes. "What are you all doing out here?" Midoriya jumped at Mirio's voice. He had been walking hand in hand with Eri, a black umbrella shielding the two of them from the rain. "We are matchma-" Kirishima began to say, but he was cut off by Mina. "They are kissing!" she squealed in the quietest way possible. They all looked at All Might and Inko, who had their faces half-hidden by the umbrella. But they couldn't miss the kiss. Bakugou shot into full view and before anyone could stop him- "FUCKING FINALLY!!!" he shouted at them. Kirishima pulled him behind a wall and everyone except Mirio and Eri ducked into hiding before All Might and Inko could spot them. Mirio shrugged at them. "Mission complete!" Iida whispered. They all silently whooped their victory.

Record Keeper Part 2
In Izuku’s defense, he wasn’t expecting anybody to conclude from his story that his family was one of the Record Keeper Clans or that he was a member of said Record Keeper Clan.
He would not have told Eri the story if he had known it would have exposed his family. Luckily, the Pro Heroes and students who had figured it out had promised not to tell anybody. They apparently knew how sacred and secretive the Record Keepers are, and how important it is that nobody knows which family is of which clan.
That doesn’t change the fact that Sir Nighteye wishes to kill him.
He stands in one of Sir’s agency’s meeting rooms, getting stared down by Sir Nighteye and his sidekicks Bubble Girl and Centipede, All Might in small form, Principal Nedzu, Aizawa-sensei, Mirio, Rock Lock, and Bakugou (apparently dragged here because they wanted to know if Kacchan, as his childhood friend, knew his secret).
Great. Now, not only will Papa kill me for this, the Elders are gonna drag me through the pit and training course until I collapse then hang my dead body in the Halls as warning towards any other idiot Midoriya who dares to reveal the Clan secret just to comfort a little girl. Izuku thinks as he shifts uncomfortably in his standing position. I am so dead.
“Why the hell didn’t you say anything?” Yagi asks, “Record Keepers are valuable! We could have kept the secre –”
“That’s exactly why,” Izuku interrupts. “We keep our identity a secret because people kill for the things we keep, the history we keep. I ask that you not say a word to anybody because people from all sides will come after me and my family to kill us for the things we know or because of the things we know.”
He turns to look at the door as he finishes, “Nobody knows the Forgotten Hero or his tragic tale at all because the government erased that history and made propaganda up to hide what had actually happened during the Dawn of Quirks. What they had done to Quirked and Quirkless people. They altered everybody’s memory and erased First from existence and memory. The only reason we Record Keepers have his memory at all is because my ancestors were a secret, a secret the Government didn’t and would never have because the People never spoke about us.”
“Izuku –”
He opens the door as he finishes, “First and the society his group, the Rogues, had created is forgotten because the people who used to be in power refused to let the society live, refused to believe that it was better than anything they could create. Can you imagine? Not remembering your own history, your own life, as it actually was because your own government altered your memory and erased that part of you from existence out of a petty need to have control over everything.” He walks out the door.
Nobody tries to stop him as they slump and process what he had said.
Little did Nighteye or anybody in that universe know, it was because of Izuku’s knowledge and the Record Keepers’ existence that people got out of the fight with only major and minor injuries and nobody dead.
Thanks to the Forgotten Hero’s story, Izuku recognized the signs of a lab experiment and a hurt child, and acted on it as soon as the child, Eri, was within his grasp. No hesitation or daring to listen to Overhaul when he came out of that alleyway, just grabbing Mirio and Eri and running.
Because the alternative had been drilled into his very mind by the stories he grew up on, including First’s story, he had responded to an obvious escape attempt and did what his ancestors would have done.
Stories, especially true stories, have a lot more effect on the world around you and how you perceive it than most people realize.
The Record Keepers know this better than anybody – they have an entire closed off section of the Keeping Library that more than proves this statement to be true.
Izuku wishes he knew how to explain that to outsiders but he doesn’t know how to nor does he think it would have changed their opinion. Either way, Eri is safe, everybody except the Villains got out of the fight alive and relatively death free. No funerals are being planned and no regrets pilled up.
That is enough.
Knowing that Eri is here, and not with Overhaul, slowly recovering and learning how to be a child again, is enough.
Are you proud of me, Grandpa Tsunayoshi? Izuku watches with soft eyes, Eri playing in the playground with Kouta and Mirio (playing slowly to be mindful of his injuries). Though a smile doesn’t grace her lips, her eyes are alight with happiness. Tiger from the Wild Pussycats in casual clothes watches them play on the bench. Izuku sits on the fountain bench, mindful of his shoulder. We managed to stop the Bad Men before they could further destroy her happiness and childhood. She’s escaped and the Bad Men are paying for it.
A wind blows through the park. Plays with his hair.
It smells like oranges, the forest, sunlight, blood, and hope. Izuku didn’t know how the wind smelled like Hope but that’s what it smelled like.
Light fingers card through his hair, laughter rings out around him. He straightens up and looks around. Nobody’s paying attention to him and the others were too far to do that.
A voice whispers in his ear, “You did good, little one. That little girl gets to have the childhood I lost thanks to you. But it’s time to rest and relax now. And remember.”
“Only justice will bring peace,” Izuku whispers the words automatically to the wind, eyes moving to Eri as she comes up excitedly to him, talking rapidly about all the things they were doing. The wind sings around him as he stands up and easily picks her up.
He smiles and hums along to everything she’s talking him, asking questions where needed, letting Eri do the talking. Mirio chimes in every now and again, mostly letting Eri do the talking too, as they leave the park, waving goodbye to Tiger and Kouta.
Unnoticed, a figure appears in the park behind Deku. This figure has the same kind of curly hair as Izuku but shoulder length. It falls and frames his face while also stylistically and purposely covering the left side of his face. Freckles decorate his entire face, neck and arms. The hair is white. His eyes a soft brown with green flakes dancing and sparking inside of them. Tan skin.
He wears a sleeveless white shirt over which is a sleeveless and loose dark-green-and-black jacket – similar to Izuku’s own hero costume but designed a little differently. A white scarf covers his neck with the two ends falling down his chest and back, a design, of a circle broken in pieces on it in which a wyvern dances gracefully inside and clutches one of the broken pieces, in front of the wyvern is a single flare of fire and lighting, is sewn into the end part of the scarf lying on the chest. Wrapped around his arms are hidden-blade gauntlets, white and green fabric bracing the elbows, and bandages covering the fingers with brown fingerless gloves covering the hands. A red utility belt is wrapped around his waist, brown, loose combat pants cover his legs and fall over red-and-black braced shoes. Black-with-green-light-decorating-it fabric also braces his knees.
The figure watches Deku, with Eri and Mirio, slowly leave the park and smiles. He touches the necklace that sits on his chest.
The same necklace swings around Izuku’s chest as he transfers Eri to Mirio who gladly takes her. They run ahead with Mirio laughing as Eri shrieks in joy. Izuku laughs at them.
The necklace glints, Izuku turns and sees the figure. He pauses. The figure lifts a hand in a single, two-fingered salute and points at Izuku. Izuku pauses then gives a smile and returns the two-fingered salute, nodding to show he got the message.
“I understand, Tsunayoshi. She will live the childhood you couldn’t, I will remember your story and pass it on, and this society will one day remember who you are,” Izuku tells him softly, the wind carries it to him. The figure raises an eyebrow. Izuku amends, “After I rest and graduate.” Tsunayoshi smiles, then turns and waves goodbye, fading as he walks away.
“But…” Izuku watches his great-great-great-great grandfather disappear, “Do you want us to remember only Tsunayoshi, only First? Mana deserves to be known too, even though you can’t remember being Mana.” He closes his eyes for a moment, touches the necklace around his neck. Then turns heel and runs to catch up to Mirio and Eri who had stopped and are waiting for him.
Even though Tsunayoshi won’t answer him, he knows what he will do when he’s ready to tell the complete story to the world. Against Record Keeper duty because that is what Grandpa Tsunayoshi wants.
He won’t be telling the Tale of the Forgotten Hero, the public tale the Midoriya’s tell to outsiders.
The tale the world will know when he’s ready is the Tragedy of the Two Lost Brothers.
The Story of Mana, Hisashi, Subject 27: History’s Forgotten and Betrayed.
Tsunayoshi had learned about what happened to his brother, his true name. Was told it during the final battle by the Secretary of the Science Department who had also been charge of the Lab.
He had learned that his brother, whom he had seen get shot down by 5 bullets during his initial kidnapping, was alive. First hadn’t followed up, too shocked by finally learning the name he had lost and defeating the government that had hurt so many.
Izuku hadn’t wanted to follow up either, especially given that history from that time period had been purposefully destroyed by the 1% the moment they forcefully took control back after Tsunayoshi’s death (the Midoriya’s and many others had tried to stop it, but war and infighting hadn’t been something anybody had planned on doing again except for the 1%. Only the Midoriya’s had been able to keep the history and it is only because none Record Keepers don’t know how to nor have access to the Clan Library). But, after learning about the history of One For All and All For One… The idea has been pecking at him non-stop in the back of his mind.
Against his better judgement, Izuku approaches his mentor and asks if he can visit All For One in prison with his father and grandmother. Explaining that the Record Keepers side of his family need to double check with somebody from First’s time period to see if the memory altering aspect of that history is correct.
He had already informed his grandmother and father about his idea and also the never-happens-after-that-time-period-has-passed chance to check facts about specific events. So, he has already gotten their approval.
Toshinori, predictably, refuses. But Izuku is nothing if not persistant. After the reassurance that it was just a Record Keeper meeting from both his father, grandmother, and himself, with permission from Papa and Granny that his mentor can come with them, he reluctantly agrees and calls it in.
They plan it out to go over the weekend, next week.
Izuku gets official permission from Granny to tell the Tragedy of the Two Lost Brothers in its full form before All For One, Toshinori, the elder Record Keepers, and whoever is listening to their conversation.
Yes, his father had indeed scolded and grounded him for telling Eri and those other people the Forgotten Hero version of the story without permission. Yes, he was grounded, dorm-school-dorm, nowhere else without teacher permission and older student buddy system, style, for the week and that’s why they’re doing it next week.

After a bad diagnosis that paints an early death for Inko Midoriya, the kind mother does whatever she can to give Izuku a good life outside heroics. Buying a coffee shop? Check. This class hurt. Shouta would never admit it, but more than anything, 1A hurt to teach, to be around, to look after. He’d never seen such comradery between a whole class before, not even one he’d taught. They knew each other inside and out, care for each other, loved each other like a family.
Which is why it hurt so much knowing one of them wouldn’t graduate.

BnHA Chapter 156: Deku Potter and the Cursed Child
Previously on BnHA: Chronostasis was revealed to be holding Aizawa prisoner on some lower level of the Neverending Basement. He has sexy clock hair which he’s used to basically paralyze Aizawa for the next hour. Deku fought Overhaul for a little bit at 20% OFA and it basically did nothing. Meanwhile Mirio tried to drag Eri away to safety, but ended up collapsing due to blood loss. He told Eri to go and hide, but she wasn’t able to take the guilt of thinking she’s responsible for all this death and carnage, and she went back and told Overhaul she’d go with him if he stopped hurting everyone and fixed them all back up. Overhaul said some more bullshit things which got Deku all fired up again, and our little green hero stumbled to his feet and shouted that he’d save Eri no matter what. And then THANK FUCK, Ryuukyuu and my badass ladies Tsuyu, Ochako, and Hadou came busting in out of nowhere. I really need this girl power squad to turn the tide here because tbh, I’ve had just about enough of this.
Today on BnHA: We flash back to see how the badass lady squad battled Katsukame, the giant vitality-stealing bad guy who kept sucking energy from everyone and converting it into his own power. Just as they were finally wrapping things up, “Deku” appeared and told them that their assistance was needed in the Neverending Basement. “Deku” of course turned out to be Toga, but that doesn’t really matter since in the end she helped the heroes out. Back in the present, Deku asks Ochako to help Nighteye while he goes after Overhaul and Eri. Overhaul tries to escape through the new hole in the ceiling, and Deku leaps after him. Meanwhile we learn through more flashbacks that Eri is actually the granddaughter of the Comatose Boss, and that she was abandoned by her mother (the boss’s daughter) after her quirk manifested and she somehow vanished her father. Overhaul was assigned to look after her and eventually learned that her quirk is able to rewind time. Back in the present (again), Eri’s quirk begins to awaken, and she leaps toward Deku’s arms.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 185 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
everyone, I have an announcement. today, 1/13/19, is an auspicious day. today I am finally going to finish this arc after four long years. or maybe it’s only been a couple months. I lost track of time somewhere in the darkness. but anyways. I’m gonna do it. the binge starts... now
oooh!
Tumblr media
come to think, we never did learn her actual quirk. obviously it’s something to do with destroying other people’s quirks, because that’s what they were weaponizing her DNA for. but what exactly is it that she does?
so we’re backtracking to “a short time ago”, and Ryuukyuu and her squad have successfully taken down the villain from all the way back in chapter 138
Tumblr media
you see how they did that with no casualties? that’s cuz they’re competent. and also because they didn’t split up like fools, although for the most part that was out of the others’ control. (but them leaving Tamaki was still stupid af)
so they’re hurrying to go help the others
but something is happening??
Tumblr media
oh shit the guy wasn’t fully knocked out
he’s using his quirk to sap their energy
aaaaand he’s getting bigger and breaking free of his bonds
he’s all amped up on quirkroids just like Irinaka was. fuck
so they were stuck dealing with him for another 20 minutes! during which time two whole months passed in the labyrinth of uninteresting chapters. ugh
it looks to me like the ladies ended up having to babysit the cops
Ryuukyuu’s shouting at Hadou and OH MY GOD WE’RE FINALLY GETTING THE DETAILS OF HER QUIRKKKKK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she should have kicked ass at the sports festival. I still don’t know why she never placed. maybe she just got disqualified for asking her opponent too many inappropriate personal questions
-- hey now what is this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m preeeeeeetty sure it’s not!
which means it’s Toga oh my god
so what is she up to?
Tumblr media
it looks for all the world like she’s actually pointing them in the right direction so they can come bail the others out before they lose to Overhaul. total betrayal of the Precepts. yes please. I fucking love it omg
also, just to remind everyone, Horikoshi is terrible at math because if this really is Toga she should have only had enough blood to turn into Deku for like three seconds. I wonder if she’ll be in a rush to get back out of there before her cover is blown
(ETA: shoutout to @temperatezone who Did The Math and calculated that Toga probably has around 35 seconds’ worth of Deku blood, so this scene is indeed plausible, if just barely! and we’ll just have to wait and see if she actually used up all the blood she has with this stunt, or if we’ll be seeing not!Deku make any future appearances.)
fuck yes the girls are wrapping this up now! with coordinated team action!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
good LORD he got big
and they’re smashing through the ground and winding up in Overhaul’s spiky rock room as we saw earlier!
could you guys also smash just one more level down and save Aizawa too, please and thanks
also Deku is there -- the real Deku -- and Ochako is like
Tumblr media
THEN WHO WAS DEKU
hee
-- oh my god fucking gross, Toga
Tumblr media
“plus chaos”?? is that their new thing?
do you guys secretly want to go to U.A. too. “we’re forming our own team. it’s called the... uh... revengers”
also is this the first time we’ve seen Compress with his missing arm? I forget if he was in the flashback chapter from before. and I’m not gonna go back and check right now because I have more important things to do, namely BINGGGGE
(ETA: kinda glad I didn’t check, because the Robot Arm came as such a pleasant surprise in chapter 160)
look at this elaborate plan they concocted
Tumblr media
was Compress being held hostage?? how much of this arc did I drift through in a boredom-induced haze omg
(ETA: okay so this was never actually clarified, but based on the information we have, it would seem that Tomura was planning on having his minions kidnap Eri when the opportunity arose, and that’s why Twice made a copy of Mr. Compress to save for a rainy day. Compress then used his quirk on himself?, and then simply sat around in one of their pockets waiting for the plan to go into effect.
but this all means that Toga and Twice were both somehow able to lie even under the influence of Nemoto’s quirk in chapter 149, though. so that’s weird. unless they somehow came up with this plan all on their own, in which case it technically wouldn’t have been Tomura’s plan, and so Nemoto’s wording of that particular question would have allowed them to say no. but that seems like a reach. then again, this all does, pretty much. so...)
and also, so we’re back to Twice making more than two copies of things, I presume? or did they do all this with only two sets of them
(ETA: @r5h helped me with this one back in 149; even though Twice can only make two copies of things, each of his clones has the same quirk, and so each of them can make two more copies, etc. etc. although this would mean Twice broke his self-imposed rule of not copying himself. but hey it was for a good cause)
anyway. so Twice is telling Compress that Eri is the core of the Precepts’ operation and that she’s just a little kid
omg. they want Compress to snatch her. like he did with Katsuki omg
listen guys. I’m somehow mostly on your side here. even when you abducted Kacchan, it led to my two favorite parts of the series, so yeah. but if you abduct any more children, particularly this one who has been through enough trauma for a lifetime, you’re going to lose some points again
although why do I feel like even Tomura would end up being way kinder to Eri than Overhaul ever was. I feel like they wouldn’t really hurt her, but they’d probably end up brainwashing and manipulating her much in the same way that AFO did to Tomura. that’s the more classy villain thing to do
(ETA: they’d give her lots of ginger ale)
wtf. apparently Compress is a copy? I’m so fucking confused. can anyone help me puzzle this out seeing as the anime won’t air this for another year. I’m tempted to go find the reddit discussion thread of this chapter and see if they got it sorted
(ETA: bah, the reddit discussion was just a bunch of speculation on what Eri’s quirk actually was and whether she was going to become Orihime 2.0. reddit needs to calm the fuck down sometimes lol)
anyway, so Compress is dropping in on everyone now and bitching about how mean Toga and Twice are to him
Deku’s shouting at Ochako to take care of Nighteye
float him out to safety, I guess? the dude’s already a goner Deku
and he’s running toward Eri
but
Tumblr media
Overhaul you BITCH, DID YOU HURT MY SWEET GIRL
DEKU HOW CAN WE MAKE IT SO THIS FUCKER NEVER AGAIN SEES THE LIGHT OF DAY
son of a bitch
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I said how can we make it so he does not see the light of day, Deku!!
are you just standing there while he escapes on this jutting rock elevator like Scar singing “Be Prepared” in The Lion King
Tumblr media
YES. DUH
oh for fuck’s sake he’s leaping after him and screaming “I won’t let you!”
right now you don’t have a very good track record for living up to those words, Deku
Overhaul’s all “give it up already”
once again, they’re not the ones dragging it out, you ass
and now, weirdly, he’s being interrupted by a giant rock wearing Mirio’s cape?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I dub thee “Lemillirock”
Tumblr media
I’m sorry, are we really supposed to believe that a giant fucking rock wearing a billowing cape just somehow got “blown up” twenty feet in the air toward you all on its own?
and what, are they just stopping to admire it now?
Eri’s reaching out to grab the cape
the narration says she wasn’t even conscious of the fact that she was doing it
and she’s remembering Mirio’s whole “a hero’s cape is for safely bundling up scared little girls all snug and secure like warm lil burritos” speech
Tumblr media
is her quirk happening?!
what’s going on omg
Overhaul seems shocked by something
Tumblr media
FLASHBACK
ahhhhh so she’s the old boss’s granddaughter. that makes much more sense
the boss’s daughter apparently cut her ties with the family after a marriage dispute, and had a kid
and then...
Tumblr media
well that’s nice
um WHAT
Tumblr media
UM. WHAT
jesus christ. apparently Eri mutated a quirk that had nothing to do with the quirks on either side of her family lineage
Tumblr media
don’t mind me just making a note of this for future theorizing. please, continue
so apparently her quirk just straight up makes things disappear. just disappears ‘em
so the boss told Overhaul to look after her, and to also investigate just what her quirk was
so he did some experiments with rats and stuff
Tumblr media
WHAT
Tumblr media
WAIT WHAT
omg
wait so is this like that thing in Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator that de-aged people, and if you took too much you’d actually be de-aged into negative years??
does this mean that with more training she could master control of it and turn it into a time travel quirk??
(ETA: future number one hero here. for sure. unstoppable. Deku this is your successor. actually you’d better watch out because you and Katsuki will have like 10 years at the top at most before she graduates and arrives fresh on the hero scene to boot y’all from that podium.
fucking imagine. she can heal anyone. stop bad guys by removing their quirks and/or turning them into cute babies. alter the landscape during fights. turn a few chickens into fucking dinosaurs. and that’s just scratching the surface.
is she overpowered? fucking yes lmao. do I care? yeah that’s gonna be a no from me dawg. besides, like her equally overpowered Lemillibrother before her, she probably won’t gain full control of her abilities until she’s all grown up, so it’s all good.)
and apparently he started doing fucked up shit to her right away because she immediately tried to escape starting on that day
Eriiii ;_;
Tumblr media
:|
I need Eri to be adopted by a loving family and pampered and showered with love and affection every day for the rest of her life and they take her to Disney World and she meets the princesses and they all tell her how brave she is for never giving up, and now she finally has her happily ever after
do you remember how these fuckers were actually trying to bribe her with toys. as if that would make everything okay. sorry you’re being held captive and never shown the slightest affection and you’re being constantly tortured and you’re so scared and tired all the time because no matter what you know you’ll never be safe and you’ve even been conditioned to think all of it is your own fault. but here’s some toys. [leaves and comes back to find them unopened] WHY DIDN’T YOU PLAY WITH THEM. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT DIDN’T MAGICALLY MAKE EVERYTHING BETTER
the narration is talking about how Mirio’s actions “shook her heart to the core”, and that she couldn’t bear to see people getting hurt trying to save her
and we’re back in real time and she’s saying “stop please, I don’t want you to die”
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD
like, so wait. WHERE DID OVERHAUL GO
HER POWERS ARE AWAKENING. so they hadn’t before?? WHAT IS HER POWER OMG
but you know what. I can just CLICK TO THE NEXT CHAPTER AND FIND OUT. because like, that was the plan anyway :D
the last two omakes are just (1) Horikoshi announcing that the guy who draws Vigilantes drew him something to congratulate him on the new volume, and (2) the picture that said guy drew. which is Toga and Twice, but it’s not really anything special, aside from the fact that there’s a little caption saying “you know, I could ship this!” which, yeah buddy. I feel ya

It’s cold right now in Montreal and people are freaking out. As if there was anything special about February in Montreal being cold… We do that every single year. Montrealers that is. Every year we get surprised that Canada gets cold in the winter and there’s snow. And in the summer we’re whining about how hot and humid it is. Montrealers have weather blindness. And I kind of like that about us.
Also, I’ve noticed that I start my collabs with Crow with these little elevator conversations. Not sure why. I don’t do that for any of my other collabs or posts in general. Maybe it’s because Crow is always so polite that I feel compelled to ease us into things. Not sure it’s working… How are you Crow??
I’m fine! I’m riding the Ohio February temperature roller coaster. Completely normal, but like Montrealers, Ohioians completely forget weather year to year.
Actually, I thought I was following your lead in opening with the elevator chat (sans elevator, of course!). So if you prefer to dive right in, I can take it!
For the record (as if anyone couldn’t tell at a glance who’s who!) I’m bold.
I’m generally not as descriptive as Crow in my reviews. I take it for granted that most of you have seen the episode we’re about to discuss. If not, then you probably should as there will be spoilers,
Generally speaking, this week’s My Hero Academia had 2.5 parallel storylines going. I’m going to attempt to explain that. I might fail.
By number of minutes, I would say most of the episode was dedicated to the ongoing preparations for the culture festival. Jiro has been now well and truly coaxed into leading the event and we discover she also has a beautiful singing voice. Something that isn’t always true for people that have a good ear although the two often go hand in hand. I don’t always agree when anime tells me someone is a great singer but I have to give it to Kei Shindō (or whoever did the actual singing), that really was very pretty. And singing acapella is not easy at all. Props!
I loved the animation surrounding everyone’s reaction, with the sheer beauty and understated power of her voice blowing away characters like Mineta with god rays.
I also have to say that I appreciate how shy Jiro is about the whole thing. I think she really wants to perform, but she’s still not confident. I suspect that won’t last for long!
We also discovered that Bakugo is an excellent drummer….of course. Somehow that doesn’t surprise me at all. What did surprise me more, was his attitude. There was a clumsy bait and switch where they made it seem like he wouldn’t participate but ended up inspiring everyone instead. Kirishima may have been right in principle. There are more important things to worry about than a festival… on paper. But these are all kids that have gone through some pretty difficult times and everyone can use a bit of celebration now and then. Still it’s a nice little subversion that Baku would be the one to pick up on that and it’s in line with how they’ve been evolving the character this season.
I think it’s good therapy for him, too! It’s a very constructive outlet for his anger.
All in all, the festival is a pleasant distraction in the narrative as well. It’s nice to see the kids acting as kids again and getting excited over their performances. I hope we get the chance to actually see the show but I have a feeling it may never come to pass.
Maybe whoever is planning an attack (I see you’re about to talk about the one we know about in a second!) will be so blown away by their performance that he’ll take a moment to watch?
The second thread is sort of ¾ of a story lately. It’s the establishing arc of Gentle and La Brava. I still really like these two, although we didn’t get the chance to see that much of them. I still get the same `vibe from them. Mostly harmless and fairly likable comedy relief villains. Almost like a team rocket. But their storyline does bring a few interesting things to the foreground.
Most obviously, they are trying to become something analogous to YouTube stars, which grounds the universe of My Hero Academia is a much more topical and self-aware atmosphere than it’s been up until now. These sort of tongue in cheek narratives usually don’t work well with the simplistic naivité that has been part of the charm of My Hero Academia, and I wonder how they will reconcile it.
If they don’t, it might end up seeming annoying and disingenuous. But if they pull it off, this could be a mildly meta turn in the narrative that pushes the show towards the maturity it seems to be reaching for.
Meta is exactly the word I thought during this sequence. Much more obvious in reflecting our society back at us!
What captured my attention though, was a line spoken by Gentle in one of the videos. “It was a time when the line between heroes and villains was still vague”. That sentiment is what fascinates me most about My Hero Academia and a theme I’ve been longing to explore through this show since the first episode. O.k… maybe the 3rd.
This is why I’m unhappy when they effortlessly redeem unlikable heroes or make villains do an unforgivable act just to solidify the black and white. I like grey zones and I like that in it’s optimistic and slightly innocent way, My Hero Academia had started to build up this universe where actual bad people could be the good guys and vice versa. It was something very unique about the series and I think it would be a loss if they gave up on that.
Gentle and La Brava exist in that gray area. Like Stain, from their perspective they’re trying to do something good, like expose the corrupt executives at the convenience store chain. But — and this goes back to the meta aspect — they reviewed their view YouTube counts and comments and decided they had to do something a bit more radical.
I have to say I laughed when one of the comments said to show more La Brava. Talk about feeling authentic!
Also — did you notice how La Brava called the League of Villains “wicked?” Their society may only have the vocabulary to describe the black and white villain/hero paradigm, but even the villain La Brava judges the League of Villains!
As for the .5, it’s really two .25s. Two scenes really. The first is Midoriya continuing to struggle with mastering One for All. That scene was some grade A fanservice showing us how far Deku has gone and logically laying out his evolution as a hero and character. I got a little misty eyed. It was good stuff and seamlessly integrated into the narrative. Generally speaking, I enjoy when the series explains quirks in down to earth ways. Showing the math and physics behind it all.
Given the show’s physics, I thought it was realistic, too. Very cool moments.
As an aside, All-Might has been looking quite healthy lately. He seems to have bulked up a bit too. Seems retirement is treating him well.
Coughing up less blood as well. That’s got to help his constitution!
The very last scene showed the arrival of Eri in a dress I will now scour the internet to find, and a presently quirkless Mirio, at UA. I wonder how that’s going to go…
She was so adorable! I really hope she had a good time (and doesn’t injure or maim anyone!). She deserves some fun.
see!?! adorable dress
My Hero Academia s4 ep82- With Due Elegance It’s cold right now in Montreal and people are freaking out. As if there was anything special about February in Montreal being cold… We do that every single year.
