I'm excited to finish writing Chapter 24 because Buck and Eddie are married and the Diaz family is starting the second half of their two-week long European family adventure. For anyone who hasn't read Chapters 22 and 23, here's a brief overview. In Chapter 22, Buck and Eddie got married, Chris was their best man and Eddie successfully surprised Buck with all the things he had planned for him including a three-tier wedding cake. Their honeymoon started that night and they had an important conversation before they consummated their marriage. In Chapter 23, they left Rome the day after their wedding and proceeded to visit 5 other cities for the remainder of their time in Italy. By the end of it, they agreed to continue speaking Italian even after they return to the U.S. because while they were in San Gimignano, they made a decision that could affect the course of their family's lives forever. What was the decision? 👀

They departed Rome at the end of the chapter and they landed in London on Christmas Eve to start the second half of their family adventure. What else are they going to do while they're still in Europe? Will Buck meet his biological father? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Here's a snippet from Chapter 24 of Buck and Eddie being romantically fluffy and completely head over heels in love with each other early Christmas morning.

The clock on the nightstand reads 5:18AM and the room is almost pitch black since the curtains are drawn. Even though the lights with a hot pinkish hue that are shining from the London Eye aren’t beaming into the room, they can still see each other because the numbers on the clock are vibrant neon red and they’re illuminating enough of the space for them to see.

Since it’s 29 degrees Fahrenheit outside and it’s frigidly cold, Buck turned the thermostat up to 75 degrees before they went to bed last night so the suite would remain warm and cozy. They’re gloriously naked but they’re not cold at all; in fact everything is steamy and hot for them since they’re underneath the covers and their bodies are dripping with sweat. Currently they’re so gone on each other that they’re entering a place called ecstasy.

Eddie’s deep inside of Buck, he’s thrusting his hips just the way his husband likes it, his right hand is wrapped around Buck’s hard length and he’s stroking him all while passionately tongue kissing him. He’s making love to him and he has been for the past several minutes but the more he thrusts his hips, the closer both of them get to the edge.

Buck moans into the kiss and he makes that high pitched noise in the back of his throat Eddie loves to hear. Since he wants to hear it again, he slightly adjusts the angle of his hips so he can hit Buck’s prostate again and after he pulls almost all the way out and pushes all the way in as deep as he can go, Buck makes the noise once more but this time it’s followed by an obscene moan.

He breaks the kiss but he doesn’t lose his rhythm and after he pulls back, he presses his cheek against Buck’s and whispers, “Amore mio… ti amo co—si… tan—to!” [My love… I love you so much!”]

As he continues to match everyone of Eddie’s downward thrusts with an upward one of his own, he replies, “Ti amo… con tut—to il cuore!” [“I love you… with all my heart.”]

As of this very moment, they’ve been married for 1 week, 14 hours and 18 minutes. They’re still on their honeymoon and every second of every day, they fall even deeper in love.

They’re lost in a haze of love making, they entered ecstasy a long time ago and they’re so close to the edge that they both know they won’t be able to hold on much longer.

He lifts his head to meet his husband’s eyes and says, “My love… come with me! Let’s do it tog—ether just—just like we did on our wedding night”.

And that’s all it takes for them to climax together.

Eddie collapses on top of him and after they come down from their euphoric high, Buck kisses his cheek and when Eddie moves his head so their faces are in front of each other’s again, he kisses his husband long, deep and slow.

Once he breaks the kiss, he talks against his lips and whispers, “Merry Christmas, my love”.

With his legs still wrapped around Eddie’s waist, his million-dollar Eddie smile graces his lips and he replies, “Merry Christmas to you too and just so you know… I want you to wake me up like this every Christmas morning for the rest of our lives”.

“Oh yeah?”

He nods and says, “I sure do so uh… promise me that we’ll always make love on Christmas morning”.

Eddie places a soft kiss onto his lips, returns a beaming smile and asks, “Even when we’re old and gray?”

“Even then… I—I mean uh… as long as our hips still work.”

Eddie bursts out laughing but he buries his face in between Buck’s neck and shoulder to hide the sound and Buck laughs too and he does the same. They’re trying to be quiet because Chris is still sleeping and even though his bedroom is on the other side of the suite, they don't want to wake him.

Fic Summary: Months after Buck and Eddie were hit by the same lightning strike; they’re still struggling with the aftermath of it. But before they make their love confessions, they’ll spend time getting to know themselves as individuals first. Eddie learns to enjoy the simple things in life as he participates in activities on his own and with new friends while Buck learns the rest of the 31-year-old deep dark family secret about his conception and birth. Their journey to forever is still a work in progress but once they finally admit they’re in love with each other, everything that follows their love confessions will be cataclysmic.

Chapter Summaries

Chapter 1 - Eddie makes a new friend while Buck receives devastating news regarding the sperm donation he made for Connor and Kameron.

Chapter 2 - Buck does a lot of research to learn more about the abnormalities found in his red blood cells and Eddie starts a new therapy journey that’s all about him and not the traumas he’s experienced.

Chapter 3 - After more than a month, Buck and Eddie finally spend time together outside of work but it doesn’t end well and they part with a lot of uncertainty regarding their places in each other’s lives.

Chapter 4 - Eddie has a few realizations about his life which causes him to consider moving back to El Paso, TX while Buck continues to be reminded of his past which causes him to take an impromptu road trip across America.

Chapter 5 - Both Buck and Eddie have difficult conversations with their parents and Buck finally learns the truth behind the reason why his mother despised him while Eddie finally tells his mother about the way she tries to control him.

Chapter 6 - More than two weeks after Buck pushed Eddie away after suggesting they needed a break; Eddie decides to try again. Eddie’s there for Buck when he’s at his worst just like Buck was there for him when he was at his worst and he won’t let Buck give up.

Chapter 7 - After Buck’s mental breakdown, Eddie has his back the same way Buck had his when he had his own breakdown more than a year ago. They share several vulnerable and emotionally intimate moments with one another and they begin to realize their small, sweet and caring gestures matter just as much if not more than any grand gesture ever could because these are the foundations of a long-lasting love relationship.

Chapter 8 - Buck, Eddie and Chris all have their own therapists and during their sessions, they reflect on their pasts while they’re in the present so they can prepare for their future together as a family.

Chapter 9 - Buck and Eddie are there for each other when Buck has to testify as a witness during the trial. But by the end of it, they’ll both realize their individual and shared traumas are going to keep resurfacing until they talk about them, deal with the fact that they’re in love with one another and face the fact that they can’t live without each other.

Chapter 10 - As Buck and Eddie finally begin to confront their past traumas, they realize how much they need each other to fill in the gaps of their memories. Additionally, the universe screams at them for what appears to be the one hundredth time so Buck can realize he doesn’t have to ‘find it’ because he already ‘made it’ and Eddie’s reminded tomorrow isn’t promised and he doesn’t have to die alone if he doesn’t want to.

Chapter 11 - A “virga” or dry thunderstorm is in the forecast but once the rain starts, the thunderstorm happening outside won’t be able to match the storm brewing inside between Buck and Eddie. It’s the universe’s final scream and when the tumultuous winds begin to blow, they’ll have one last chance to hold onto everything they’ve built over the last six years or they’ll lose it all forever.

Chapter 12 - Buck and Eddie have always shared a deep physical attraction and an emotional intimacy that’s unmatched but now that they’re in a relationship, they’re learning how to navigate the romantic intimacy they’ve been waiting for six years to explore. The love they have for each other is a once in a lifetime, soulmate, love of their lives type of love that transcends space and time.

Chapter 13 - While navigating the newness of their romantic relationship, Buck and Eddie take advantage of every moment they spend together. As their individual lives, people from their pasts, time constraints and the possibility of losing each other again make attempts to interrupt and interfere with their journey to forever, they love, care for, support and hold onto each other even tighter to withstand it all.

Chapter 14 - Buck and Eddie can see the lights at the end of the tunnels regarding the results of Buck’s Cancer Screening along with everything else they’re dealing with. But are the lights they see exits to the tunnels or are they headlights on different runaway trains that are speeding towards them in an effort to interrupt their forever?

Chapter 15 - Buck and Eddie have known they were exactly who the other one wanted in a partner since they met six years ago when they agreed to have each other’s backs. They’re in a romantic relationship, they’re both preparing to ask the other one to spend forever with them and by the end of the seventh week into their relationship, together they will plan their most important and greatest adventure for their future.

Chapter 16 - As Buck and Eddie begin to prepare for their marriage ceremony that will take place in Rome, Italy in December 2023, they start planning their first international adventure as a romantic couple. Even though Chris is still the only person they’ve told about their relationship, several people who know them have already witnessed the love they share and as the days continue, others will witness it too.

Chapter 17 - As Buck and Eddie get closer to departing Los Angeles for their international adventure, a moment in time will remind them; life is fragile, tomorrow isn’t promised and every second of everyday should be cherished because everything can change in an instant. The result of that realization will cause them to hold onto each other even more.

Chapter 18 - As Buck, Eddie and Chris prepare for family gatherings before and during the Thanksgiving holiday, the “Santa Ana Winds” start to blow and all sorts of expected and unexpected familial drama ensues.

Chapter 19 - As Buck and Eddie get closer to their wedding day, the universe begins to align everything so that some of their parent and children's relationships are strengthened while others come to an abrupt end.

Chapter 20 - With only 14 days remaining until Buck, Eddie and Chris depart Los Angeles, CA traveling to Rome, Italy, for their first family adventure, an early morning conversation about “tying up loose ends” helps Buck and Eddie realize there are still several things left unfinished on their ‘To Do’ lists. The question is will there be enough time to complete all of them?

Chapter 21 - Buck, Eddie and Chris are finalizing their ‘To Do’ Lists, double checking their itineraries and packing their suitcases in preparation for their trip to Europe so they can board their flight that departs Los Angeles, CA on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 3:25PM.

Chapter 22 - While Buck, Eddie and Chris spend the first 8 days of their European family adventure in Italy, their primary reason for going will be fulfilled as well as several others they hadn’t considered or anticipated.

Chapter 23 - As the Diaz Family continues their Italian family adventure, they’ll say, “Ciao” or hello and goodbye to a lot of things almost immediately after they become an official and legal family.

‘Minyard is looking at me again.’ ‘He sure stares a lot. What’s his problem?’ ‘Does he ever fucking blink?’

Oh shit. Andrew’s spine snaps straight and he blinks a couple times in rapid succession before looking away. He’d been staring into space again. He does that a lot these days. It’s just not easy, being what he is. Andrew breathes in deeply, for good measure, and rises from his seat. He glares at the girl as he makes his way across the dining hall to the trash cans and dumps his nearly full tray of food.

‘What the fuck? What the fuck? Is he going to kill me or something?’

Andrew scoffs and rolls his eyes and turns on his heel to stalk towards the nearest exit sign. He pulls up his hood and pushes the door open, stepping through and immediately wincing at the brightness he’s met with. He squints and starts towards Fox Tower, the athlete’s dorm.

In case you’ve somehow missed it, Andrew Minyard is a vampire.

He’s got all the basic superpowers that come with such a diagnosis: super strength, speed, hearing, a heightened sense of smell… You name it, he’s got it. And Andrew’s got an extra little perk— or curse, depending on how you look at it. He can read minds.

He doesn’t do it on purpose. It just… happens. And it’s constant. Other peoples’ thoughts float into his head 24/7 and it drives him insane. It’s hard to pay attention to anything at all with so much going on. Game nights are horrible. Thousands of people packed into the stands, all mentally complaining about how the game is going or the sticky seats or the kid sitting next to them. But he’s not sure how to turn it off.

He really wishes he could.

It's WIP Wednesday, time for a little accountability, sharing your work, and getting a kick in the pants.

Here's how it works:

Neil dug around his bag for the appropriate workbook.

He set it on the table. “How about we start with some basic problems and work from there?”

This time, Andrew shrugged. He still didn’t say anything but his eyes tracked over the workbook instructions as Neil carefully explained them. Andrew tapped his finger against the page. Gently, Neil set a sharpened pencil down on the table. Andrew’s gaze moved like spilled honey to the writing utensil. Andrew’s writing was small and precise, not a move wasted as he worked. Neil frowned as he worked. The problem had been an easier one, but normally students had difficulties with the formula the first few times. Andrew worked steadily through the problem in stony silence.

He set his pencil down after the first one. Neil leaned forward, scanning over the work he’d been watching. It was all correct. Neil gave a small hum of approval, already mentally bumping up the difficulty for their next session.

WIP Wednesday 7/26/23

Wednesday again already!? I was tagged by @mareenavee and @kookaburra1701 who I'm pretty sure have already read snippets of this, but here you go again some more. (Oh and @skyrim-forever thank you!)

This is from the broader Enthir story I'm now working on, including 100% more backstory.

Word count: 1260

Urag was a fixture of the College of Winterhold just as much as the statue of Shalidor himself. When Enthir had first arrived, newly freed from the rigid curriculum of the Imperial University, ripe with enthusiasm and fresh charisma, he’d quickly gotten himself into the old orc’s good graces. In his near fifty year tenure in academia thus far, Enthir had but one rule: always befriend the archivist.

Of course, Urag ran his Arcanaeum very differently than the stuffy bastards at the Imperial University. Differently from the University of Gwilym, for that matter. And the Synod’s archives weren’t even worth mentioning in comparison to the College of Winterhold’s vast collection, much of which (Enthir later found out) was locked away in some secret archive and put out on rotation. A large chunk of the collection—known colloquially as the Forbidden Archives—could only be accessed if you knew what you were asking for, presented a thesis and outline detailing the nature of your study, and clearly stated your reasons for needing said research materials, all stamped with the Arch-Mage’s seal of approval.

Or, bypassing all of that, one could attempt to make nice with the librarian.

“Please?” Enthir was on the tips of his toes as he leaned across the high desk, jutting out his lower lip. “I won’t even take them out of the Arcanaeum. You can hover behind me menacingly while I read, even.”

“Nope. I’m going to need to see your proposed outline,” Urag repeated, crossing his arms over his chest.

Enthir curled his lips against his teeth and narrowed his eyes. “Well, here’s the thing—I don’t exactly know how to propose anything without knowing whether or not my theory is even feasible.”

“I believe you just described a hypothesis,” Urag said, a shimmer of playfulness behind his gruff expression. “Which would be a great way to start your outline.”

Enthir smiled thinly before pushing away from the desk and spinning on his heel, expression dropping into a scowl as soon as his back was turned. He sat down at one of the long tables with an audible huff and pulled a scroll from his satchel, all while contemplating what he knew of Urag’s character thus far and the likelihood of the orc accepting a blowjob in exchange for reading material. Something told him it wouldn’t work quite as well as it had at the Synod.

He began to furiously scribble his ‘proposed outline’ with more ink on his quill than necessary, the first sentence’s letters bubbling and blending together in a physical manifestation of his petulance. Soon enough, he’d tricked himself into actually completing the task at hand, lost in his own theories. He blew across the page as he finished, reading it over while he waited for the ink to dry, before rolling it up and marching back over to Urag’s desk.

“Here,” he said, offering the proposal to Urag with a scowl.

Urag took it, unfurled the scroll, and proceeded to read the outline at a leisurely pace as Enthir drummed his fingers on the top of the desk. Urag’s eyebrows slowly crept upwards as he read, his eyes darting to Enthir only once while wearing an expression that was hard to parse.

“Interesting theory,” Urag said at last, rolling the scroll back up and handing it to Enthir. “Bold, even. But it’s missing something.”

Enthir quirked a brow in silent question.

“The Arch-Mage’s seal.”

“Come on, Urag!” Enthir exclaimed, throwing his arms up. “I don’t have time for this bureaucratic bullshit!”

“This bureaucratic bullshit, as you call it, is how our collection has survived as long as it has,” Urag all but growled. “You’re a formidable scholar. That much is clear. But you’re not above the rules.”

Enthir hissed through his bared teeth. Final play, he thought, and marched around the desk. Urag managed to look surprised as Enthir rounded the corner and took a knee in front of his chair.

“What–?”

Before Urag could finish his question, Enthir was already pulling the necklace from the satchel on his belt with steady hands. The palm-sized opal charm shone with a brilliant light, almost too bright to look at directly. Enthir glanced up at Urag to find the orc’s expression slack with awe, the multicolor refraction glistening in his dark eyes.

“Where… did you get that?”

Enthir allowed himself a sly smile. “I have my connections,” he said, turning the necklace over in his palm, rolling the charm between his fingers like a captured star. “And I have a buyer, but it’s time-sensitive. And this little trinket is not something I’m going to be able to sell to just anyone. Hence the… expeditious nature of my request.”

Enthir saw Urag’s throat bob as he swallowed. “May I?” he asked quietly.

Enthir hesitated, his fingers tightening around the charm almost unconsciously. But then he smiled. “Sure.”

Urag took the opal from him with the reverence of a temple priest, turning it between his fingers as he continued to stare. He glanced back at Enthir with an expression he, once again, couldn’t quite interpret—it could have been respect, possibly even a hint of being impressed—but there was a nervous pull in the pit of Enthir’s stomach that told him that maybe he’d misjudged. That Urag would confiscate the necklace and report him to the Arch-Mage for possession of Daedric artifacts.

“You’re dealing in dangerous territory, my friend,” Urag said at last, handing the opal charm back to Enthir. “But I have good news, at least. You don’t need permission to access anything from the archives. One moment.”

Enthir watched Urag push out of his chair and walk away from the desk, disappearing around the bend of the bookshelves. He returned the shining necklace to his satchel and got to his feet, leaning back against the lower edge of the desk with crossed arms. Urag returned several minutes later holding a nondescript tome.

“Here,” he said, setting the book on the lower desk between them, hidden from any possible student that might pass by. The title read: The Knights of the Silver Rose. “Familiar with the order?”

Enthir just shook his head, leaning in close enough for their shoulders to brush as he flipped open the cover and began to skim the table of contents.

“Group of anti-daedra crusaders. The only thing that makes them stand out from any of the others we’ve gotten over the past few millennia is that they kept records on the artifacts they confiscated, as opposed to outright destroying them. This book is part history, part catalog.” He reached over to turn the page, his hand brushing against Enthir’s, dry and warm. “Here. Page one-seventy-five.”

Enthir let Urag flip to the appropriate page, glancing up at the orc’s face. He wore an expression of concentration—studiousness. Enthir felt a light fluttering beneath his ribs, stirrings of conspiratorial excitement. Not only had Urag recognized the artifact on sight, but he had known the exact book to pull for further information. An obscure one, at that.

“The Opal Charm of Meridia,” Urag said, tapping the page with a thick finger and looking to Enthir with an air of smug satisfaction. “There you have it.”

“Thanks,” Enthir muttered, unable to pull his gaze away from Urag’s face.

“Just say what you want more directly from now on,” Urag said with another smirk, eyes crinkling with amusement. “You’re not in Cyrodiil anymore.”

Enthir’s expression split into a wide smile, and he clapped a hand against Urag’s broad shoulder. “Urag, my friend, I believe you and I are going to have a very fruitful relationship.”

10 Days Of Seblaine 2023

One week to go, so without further ado, here's what you need to know.

The Rules

When?

The event runs from Monday, 6th November until 23:59 (of your own timezone) on Wednesday, 15th November 2023.

Who can take part?

Anyone and everyone who shares our love of Seblaine!

What can we submit?

Anything, as long as it is Seblaine-related! Fics, Graphics, Gifs, Gifsets, Videos, Manips, Playlists, Lyrics - anything you like as long as it fits the themes! I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Please remember to use #seblaineworld and #10daysofseblaine2023 within the first five tags, and also put @seblaineworld somewhere in your posts, since we all know just how flaky Tumblr can be about tags!

Be sensible and considerate. We're all very well aware that not everyone shares our love of Seblaine, and even within our own tiny (but always fierce!) Seblainer Fandom, there are those who don't enjoy mature content, so please ensure you tag everything you submit, appropriately.

Can I cross-post/combine themes?

Yes! You can combine any of the themes that you want. And if your contribution does combine multiple themes, you can post on whichever day you prefer. Just remember, if your contribution covers one or more themes, then properly tag all days, regardless of which day you actually post on.

Do I need to submit something for every day?

Absolutely not. If you want to contribute something for every day, then of course you can, but it's not a requirement at all. We know everyone has busy lives, so just do what you can when you can.

Can I post a WIP or work if it fits the themes, even if I started it weeks/months/years before the 10 Days Of Seblaine 2023 announcement?

Absolutely! Your Admin has done this before and feels it's a great way to refresh creativity and blow the cobwebs off that piece you just KNOW you'll finish one day, but never quite seem to have the time. So feel free to post anything you've already started - providing it fits one of the themes!

On that note, do remember that the free day is exactly that. A day on which you can write about/create for, any theme you like! Did your favourite theme just narrowly miss out on being in the top 10? If so, here's your chance to do something about it and make a submission using that theme!

When do we start posting?

As soon as it becomes Monday 6th November in your own timezone, post your work to your Tumblr blog, and as mentioned above, please tag it #seblaineworld and #10daysofseblaine2023 then make sure those two are in your first five tags. Please also put @seblaineworld somewhere in your post.

If you're going to be posting your work to another site like AO3 or ff.net, post a properly tagged link on your Tumblr.

A 10 Days Of Seblaine collection will be added to AO3.

Can I post early?

Sorry, no. 🙃 Tumblr, however, does let you schedule posts so you can schedule the post for the right day, even if you're not going to be around that day. Of course this gets a little harder to navigate if you’re also posting to another site like AO3/ff.net, so if this is going to be a problem, let me know and I'll figure it out.

Can I post late?

Now for the good news - yes! I know how time can occasionally run away from us all, so as long as everything is tagged properly you can post (for example) your day 3 piece on day 7 and that won't be a problem. Everything posted will be reblogged until Friday, November 24th.

You haven't reblogged my work yet!

"Andrew, I'll be fine. Riko can't really hurt me." Neil says, "Go do your Christmas plans like you planned, you wanted to check out that new M&M store in New York City." Neil soothes.

"Neil, you don't need to go at all. Come with us to New York City." Kevin pleads stepping further into the conversation, "Riko...if Riko finds out how close you are to Ichirou...he will hurt you." Kevin says.

"If I don't go no one will be able to watch Jean's back." Neil says, "He has to go, he doesn't get a choice." Neil says and the answer to what that could result in for the Backliner is evident in how Kevin gets paler.

Kevin looks to Andrew, his fists tighten at his sides, "Go with Neil. I'll be okay with Riko's attention focused and I'll stay close to everyone." he promises. "You have to watch his back." Kevin pleads.

"That's been my plan you don't need to ask me." Andrew rolls his eyes.

I'm excited to finish writing Chapters 24 & 25 because Buck and Eddie are married and the Diaz family is starting the second half of their two-week long European family adventure. For anyone who hasn't read Chapters 22 and 23, here's a brief overview. In Chapter 22, Buck and Eddie got married, Chris was their best man and Eddie successfully surprised Buck with all the things he had planned for him including a three-tier wedding cake. Their honeymoon started that night and they had an important conversation before they consummated their marriage. In Chapter 23, they left Rome the day after their wedding and proceeded to visit 5 other cities for the remainder of their time in Italy. By the end of it, they agreed to continue speaking Italian even after they return to the U.S. because while they were in San Gimignano, they made a decision that could affect the course of their family's lives forever. What was the decision? 👀

Here's another snippet from Chapter 24 of Buck and Eddie having an important conversation while they're in the shower together.

While Buck runs his long soapy fingers up and down his husband’s back, he thinks to himself that it’s time for them to discuss something while they stand partially underneath the shower head. He exhales, meets Eddie’s eyes then says, “I think it’s time for me to tell Chris about Edward”.

Eddie raises his eyebrows because they talked about this while they were in Rome and they decided they would wait until they knew for sure what was going to happen. “Are you sure or would you rather wait until Thursday night or Friday morning?”

He shakes his head no. “I don’t want to wait anymore because uh… it’s time for us to tell him everything… about Edward, Margaret and Phillip because uh… I don’t want him thinking I was hiding this from him.”

Eddie nods and doesn’t break eye contact and he doesn’t interrupt him. He simply continues gently tracing his fingertips up and down Buck’s soapy forearms.

“I—I spent more than 29 years not knowing about Daniel and um… more than 31 years not knowing about Edward. I won’t do that to Chris. Babe… I want us to meet my biological father but if he doesn’t show then… I want Chris to know about him anyway so I think it’s time to tell him.” He pauses then he exhales a deep breath. “Chris never asks us for anything and he’s lost so much already and… I don’t want him to think that he couldn’t trust me to tell him the truth.”

“You know I’m with you every step of the way. When do you want to talk to him?”

Buck nods then replies, “Well… we have a lot planned for today so I think it will be best to talk to him tonight after we come back from dinner. What uh… do you think?”

“I think it’s perfect and you know we’re in this together.”

“I know and thank…”

He’s interrupted when Eddie places his forefinger over his lips and says, “Shhh… you don’t have anything to thank me for. We’re married and Chris is our son so we can talk to him about this whenever you’re ready.”

Buck exhales a breath he doesn’t realize he’s holding. He never doubted if Eddie would support him but if anyone asks him, he’d admit he’s still nervous about telling Chris about Edward because if he doesn’t want to meet with them Friday, not only will he feel abandoned again but he will have inadvertently inflicted that pain onto his husband and son too and he doesn’t want to do that. He lowers his eyes but just like always his husband steps right in to pull him out of that mindset.

Eddie can see he’s blaming himself for something that hasn’t happened so he wraps both of his arms around him again, pulls him closer so their chests are pressed together and even though they’re both soapy and slippery from washing each other’s bodies, it doesn’t matter. He says, “Amore mio, guardami.” [“My love, look at me.”]

Buck lifts his eyes and meets his husband’s and all he sees is love. He sees it every time he looks at Eddie and he knows this is his safe space.

“Remember we talked about this before. If Edward doesn’t show up then…”

What is Eddie going to say next? 🤷🏽‍♀️👀
