Behold, another fic snippet!! (It's a sequel to this one.)

Sabine stumbles as she rematerializes in a burst of light—it gets easier every time she does it, but she’s still terribly out of practice—slamming one hand against the wall to catch herself.

She looks around. She’d been aiming for somewhere inside the Ghost, anywhere inside the Ghost, anywhere that wasn’t right there.

She’s landed in Ezra’s room.

Of course she has.

Ezra.

Ezra, Ezra, Ezra.

That’s all anything is these days.

The one trying to get her out of her room and into daylight. The one looking worried whenever she’s spent longer than usual conferring with the holocron. The one telling her not to listen to the voices in her head. The one going out of his way to make sure she eats at least one meal a day.

The one, when it came down to it, keeping her from self-destructing.

“Did I hurt you?” his voice echoes, and she feels his phantom fingers trace over her cheek. She can feel the sticky blood from the little cut, now that she thinks about it.

He cared.

He cared if he hurt her, even if the whole point of their fight had been for them to beat each other up until she’d burned off her steam.

And Sabine?

Sabine wants to be cared about.

It’s weakness, she knows it’s weakness, but she is so—so—tired. She is tired of being strong. She is tired of digging deeper and deeper into the Darkness and she is tired of falling back into her old arts.

Did I hurt you, he had asked, sounding truly afraid that he had.

And she’d grabbed him by the arm, and impulsively brushed her lips against his wrist.

You’re dangerous, Ezra.

Sabine sighs and runs her fingers along one of her paintings on the wall as the decrepit crones haunting her speak up again, clamoring over the block she’s tried to put on them.

You’re attracted to him, aren’t you?!

You’ve never even seen his face!

He’s so young. So immature.

His idea of dealing with trauma is a fistfight!

Come home to us, sweet one, and we’ll give you a prettier boy.

One who cares enough to show you his face, hm?

Sabine blocks them out as best as she could.

It doesn’t matter if she sees his face or not. Blind people fall in love without ever seeing the other person’s face, right?

And she isn’t even in love.

She just… thinks he looked… good. In that one particular moment. That’s all.

Except that isn’t all, because it’s also the way he laughs sometimes, not a smug chuckle or a wry snort but a soft laugh that was gentle and good. It’s the way he goes out after her when her Force-hazes get the better of her and she wanders off into the Atollon desert to commune with the murder spiders, and she would come back to herself and find him guiding her by the hand or sometimes even carrying her back to their base.

It’s the way he’s gentle with her—and the way he’s downright murderous with anyone who threatens her.

I can take care of myself, she had told him once.

Not if I take care of you first, he’d said, and it sounded like a joke, but he had meant it.

Everything feels so big. It’s too much, and if she doesn’t get it out of her, she knows she will just make things worse.

Sabine needs to vent.

She needs a friend.

But other than Ezra, she has none, and she can’t tell this to any of the rest of the crew. It would mean telling—or at least hinting at—just how far she’s been dipping into the darkness.

So what can she do?

Maybe I have no friends to talk to, she realizes, inhaling quickly, but I don’t need a friend, do I? Just someone who will listen.

She casts out with her presence and finds no one in the hall, so she slips across into her new room. Ever since Malachor, she’s stopped sharing a room with Hera, and instead moved her things into Ahsoka’s room.

The holocron is right where she left it, and she sends it spinning open with a flick of her hand and a twist of Darkness.

Hello, child.

“How do I find someone?”

To the point, as always.

She ignores the commentary. “I need to track down a specific person. I don’t know where they are, but they’re a powerful Force-user who is strong with the Dark side. Can you help me find them?”

And who is this Dark acolyte? A friend?

“An acquaintance. An… enemy, but… not an enemy. I have to talk to them.”

Who is it, Sabine?

Sabine takes a breath.

She sighs.

“I need to find the Emperor’s Hand.”

Therefore when Orochimaru suddenly finds himself in a new-seal-gone-wrong-experiment-so-now-in-some-new-unknown-territory, it's not too surprising that the Jedis that he ends up running into all think he's a Sith.

Oh, and did I mention that this is during the Clone War?

It's a good thing that Orochimaru can take over other people's bodies... And Palpatine is no match for a snake but he's a little too old and ugly for Orochimaru's taste, so he just gets killed, not possessed.

Always a sith Anakin au (+the squirrel ask): obi-wan purposefully let's it slip that he's doing recon at a random planets wildlife reserve (he's not) and so Anakin thinks he is being so clever in ambushing him there only to find obi-wan patiently waiting to show him around and see all the animals. Obi-wan knows that Anakin will answer any question while distracted by animals, even the personal ones about how he became a sith apprentice in the first place

extremely adorable concept that I 100% agree with, Obi-Wan looks up all these facts about animals for weeks and signed up for a zoology class online before telling Anakin he'll be there at this very specific time alone for 6 hours and he might make sandwiches and Anakin is STILL surprised to find Obi-Wan tapping the seat next to him and handing him some binoculars when he arrives. He forgets his annoyance the second he gets to see a colourful bird flying and eat the biggest ice cream he's ever seen at the same time.

had the sudden thought after ruminating on my Nightmare Pilgrim victory from last night, but...good lord, I bet Eight reeks of dead Force-user by now. He's killed so many of the most potent Dark-Siders that it's got to have stained his signature in the Force with an undeniable presence. It might even have changed him unknowingly.

Force-users don't fade quietly when you kill them. They tend to leave a mark even when you exorcise them fully in a way that others can feel-- hence why their kind avoids places where they know many of them have been destroyed. There's a warning. Places and things gain a scent of unnatural death. Mired in enough of their blood, these things may even gain a power of their own, as seen through countless artifacts and dead zones in the galaxy where numerous Force-users died.

Light-Siders have the benefit of being able to purge it from themselves with varying degrees of success. But someone like Eight with no skill in the Force, not an ounce of the power they have, being drenched head-to-toe in an entire lineage of the most prominent Force-users to once walk this side of the stars and then the added connections of Jadus and the Dread Masters...he must be unbearable to those who even look at him. Things like that have happened before. Sacrifice enough Jedi, and you gain the ability to live forever. Eat enough life essence, and you can remove yourself from a physical body entirely. Immerse yourself solely in fear, and you can control fear itself.

Kill an entire bloodline, and you gain the ability to destroy nothing but lineages.

What whispers would one hear from the steel of his blades? What stain cannot be wiped from his soul? What does this weapon look like, now that it has killed Eternity?

#my only note for the next part of the sith au is ‘‘cela accidentally hurts jaq and he’s ok with it but she’s deeply not’’#and yet somehow it's not at all writing itself. HMM #maybe it's bc i'm also trying to fit ''jaq's best friend thinks cela's manipulating him and tries to convince jaq to 'break up' with her #but only ends up breaking jaq's trust in him & jaq does something terrible to him #thus taking his first real step to the dark side'' in there too #& also trying to retcon the end of the last part to delete everything that happened after leaving korriban bc it was too big of a timeskip #& also trying to think up what cela would possibly do for jaq's training/lessons #& at some point during all this establish that the jedi jaq failed to kill has gotten news back to the council that cela's still alive #so now the council wants cela dead* by any means necessary (*something close to death but not quite)#oh and somehow cela has to seriously reflect on her place in revan's army and wonder why revan Does keep her around and become #convinced that 1) she's on thin ice 2) jaq becoming her apprentice was orchestrated by revan who's using him to secretly evaluate #her DS level. which is partly bc she finally saw his korriban vision and read it as him being eternally loyal to revan #but also partly bc she needs an excuse to push him away bc she's afraid of letting him love her #oh and somehow their developing force bond is like stifled and one-way bc of cela's refusal to let him in #and jaq should somehow almost die from it to make cela think emotional connection is bad #and everyone who knows cela's entire backstory should believe that there's no way for cela/jaq to happen without one of them dying #and in fact revan's banking on it #but it turns out cela's refusal to fully connect with him is exactly what's been making jaq like a finite battery that can be drained & die #so like as usual the big bad is a fear of intimacy and the whole thing ends with cela accepting jaq's love #and once she Does connect with him & complete the force bond jaq is now more like a wire connecting cela to the endless force #zero resistance

Star Wars Omegaverse Recs

Here's a couple solid omegaverse fics. This list is shorter than most of the ones I write but Meh.

⭐ The Rain Fell Already by @loosingmoreletters: variation on Jedi Indentured AU containing omegaverse. Xanatos is omega Qui-Gon's bio kid but nothing changes, depressing but poignant

House Call by @elthadriel: two idiots knot while on medication that requires no knotting because it can get stuck for literal hours. Kix has to help and he is very annoyed about it

Status Quo by @captainkirkk: (G-rated) Anakin responds to Obi-Wan in a "you are my dad" way and the clones are surprised pikachu about it

⭐ Temporary Like Achilles by @intermundia: standard-ish fuck-or-die scenario where both sides are like "I can't take advantage of you/I just took advantage of you" because of course they are. (This author has a lot of solid Obikin, but they have me blocked (no I don't know why) so I can't tag them.)

The Theory of Letting Go by @ifonlyweknewwhatiwasdoing: never a Jedi!Anakin, Padme dead of uterine rupture, Obi-Wan hormonally addled and insistent on taking care of the twins like they're his own

The Swan Serenade by @shatouto: heavily AU, Mando!Anakin and Jedi-but-more-like-real-world-monks!Obi. (Has the most adorable art in the end of chapter notes, btw)

For Safekeeping by @glimmerglanger: Sith O!Obi-Wan feels safe because of the army of clones, which is the first time he's felt safe enough to have a heat, ends up fucked by his army of betas

when the snow falls we will wrap ourselves in furs by @hornet394: the fic I reread that had me going "I want Rex with O!Anakin but being in character" because this is one of the few omegaverse Rexwalkers that hits that button for me (though it's technically Anakin/501st poly stuff)

⭐ Find a little stranger by @obimanletkenobi: Villain!Obidala, both alphas, find Anakin at an omega auction, decide to ask him to play surrogate for their child since they can't do it themselves (with the offer to drop him off on a random planet with a wiped memory and enough cash to start a new life as a free man if he doesn't want to get pregnant), followed by smut

Belonging by IronCannon: this is the OTHER solid omegaverse Rexwalker

⭐ Conceal Me by @himboskywalker: longfic that is VERY good imo and builds the tension incredibly. Anakin is an omega pretending to be an alpha (literally the only people alive that know he's omega are his mother and the midwife). Senator Obi-Wan is an alpha pretending to be a beta (for weird reasons relating to his parents being kind of insane). They get married for politics, suggested by Palpatine because he found out about Obi-Wan being an alpha but not about Anakin, and decided a forced alpha/alpha marriage was going to self-destruct and help destabilize the Republic further.

Both by @obimanletkenobi: Anakin is the omegaverse equivalent of intersex and this explores the ways he's fetishized and discriminated against by the culture around him.

Peachy the Series by @the-writing-mill: IDK what to say, if you want 15k of O!Obi-Wan getting absolutely railed by two alphas, this is the fic for you

⭐ Packed Together Like Test Tubes also by @the-writing-mill: Jangobi, forced on both sides. Neither of them wants to mate, but the Kaminoans are forcing the issue with synthetic pheromones. It takes several weeks to get to that point and they are both fighting it with every ounce of willpower they have.

⭐ [Only] Think of Me by @inferior-fairy: Empress Amidala and Emperor Kenobi need Anakin to not go off the rails again, but they need a reason for him to want to stay because they love him too much to force the issue (and make him hate them) with chains or the like. So they give him Babies.

⭐ unfortunately it seems I have written more by @gaily-daily: Look at me. LOOK at me. This is fucked up and ugly and horrible and awful and messy and triggering and so incredibly well written as a dawning horror situation. Dead Dove at its finest. It is incredibly good as a story, but it is also really bad, and you need to go in accepting that. Without details, it's messy/triggering in the GoT sense.

⭐ terribly inconvenient and incredibly terrific by @tennessoui: A classic "Anakin wants to do something he is in no way qualified for and then suffers the consequences for his idiocy" plot, very fun.

I can fill those places in your heart no else can by @pontah: modern au post-breakup revenge sex I guess???

Out in the Corner of the Dark with You by kazmir: a 5+1 fic about Anakin giving Obi-Wan a bunch of soft things as courting gifts
