I have noticed that I keep drawing Lavender smaller and smaller, even though she's like 5ft (smaller than your average Peppiclone, but not by a huge margin) - and that might be bc working on the comic with Chickpea is skewing my scale (Chickpea is 6x larger than your average Peppiclone) but it is funny to me that she's getting smaller and Chamomile isn't (Chamomile is slightly larger than your average Peppiclone, but also not by a huge margin, just a few inches)

Tho that being said, Chamomile's mullet has gotten longer every time I draw her, and both of their bows get bigger, so something something the exaggeration of defining features over time - and it is not a new phenomenon for me, usually my characters get fatter and/or fluffier as I draw them lkjdfk

Oh you're new to Tumblr? Ahhh word of advice then- If I may? It might be a good idea to change your profile picture. Tumblr has a big bot problem. And a lot of the bots have default profile pictures just like yours. A lot of people might see your account in their feed and just block/report on sight. ANYWAYS! So for the Captain Barnacles/Crab comic. I don't plan on finishing it. And the reason why I abandoned it was because the way I had written the comic had everyone acting out of character. The blood was over the top, it was too dramatic,, ugh.. I got tired of my own comic half way through making it. <XD

The comic was gonna end with the rest of the crew showing up, they take the Captain to the octopod, and Peso cries because "I was too scared to help the Captain.." Which is just stupid <XD

Peso would not cower in fear in this situation. Even if Captain Barnacles turned like that and became very scary. Peso has had an extended history of getting it together and braving through anything to help creatures in need. And if his own Captain/friend was hurt? Nothing would stop him. Nothing could scare him away.

In the perfect re-write, Peso would ace this situation. He would approach Barnacles perfectly and calm him down. He would patch the wound, guide him to the gups. Guide him into the octopod and into the med-bay. Expertly deal with the wound and clean up all the blood.

Sure maybe after everything was done he would cry a bit out of the stress of it all. But originally everyone else did everything for Peso because he was too scared to help the scARy CapTAIN OOOO!!

Nah, that dumb. Peso is way stronger than that. #justiceforpeso

I made one yeeeaaarrs ago when I was into Sonic. But it centered around a Sonic OC of mine. <XD I don't tend to do much insert OC stuff anymore..

I imagine Bonnie would just sigh and try to get through it on his own. And not go to Foxy for help.. Worse case scenario he gets overwhelmed and shuts down on stage and ruins the show. Its hard to say, I didn't ever like.. try to replicate an art style and draw something unrelated. Like- if I was drawing in the gravity falls art style, I was drawing gravity falls stuff. I wouldn't draw in the gravity falls art style and draw random ocs and stuff. If that makes sense-

But maybe one style was easier to draw hands in than another. So I.. might have adopted some stuff..?? I guess??

Taking the quilt off does nothing, the quilt doesn't bring them to life either! Remember that Bibi could talk when he was a still picture and was brought to "life" without the use of a quilt or even any glowy effects. Also Jangles had a quilt as a drawing and was "brought to life" using a pen!

The point I'm getting at is, Pen? Quilt? It doesn't matter. None of these methods actually give the characters life. I do. All these fancy ways I seem to bring them to life are just for show <XD

To complicate it a bit, when I post artwork I'm just sitting there all giddy waiting for the first "AKSJKASAU WAAAAA 😭😭😭" comment to pop up. When I get fanart I immediately get frustrated and uncomfortable. Fanart feels like stealing and usually invokes a negative reaction from me. So if people want to show their appreciation for my work, leaving comments is 100% more effective and preferred. 👍

Below are headcanons and stuff of multiple creepypasta dudes.

Random thought from a friend: Zalgo really not liking being summoned by either their followers or random weirdos, so he would be very passive aggressive and try to cut time short to get the hell out of there so they can go back to whatever they were doing before. Not nessacarily a headcanon, but I'd like to imagine it.

Since me and my friend headcanon Slender as blind ( legally, at least. It can still vaugely see shapes near itself, but otherwise can't see shit without the use of its azoth. Anyways - ), and because of their species weird thing about height, Slender might mistake a light pole to be one of its species and sort of just. Stand there, sizing it up for a couple of hours.

Imagine your walking in the woods and see a fucker the size of a two story house sizing up a lamp post.

It's said ghosts and demons can't get to you if you are in a circle of salt. And since Sally is a ghost, I'd imagine that salt should would work on her too.

They can also sleep while standing, looking like a tree from far away with their azoth just sort of hanging around everywhere to keep them upright. Course, though, if they were to feel safe enough, they can just lay down like a cat or something.

SlenderFolk are tall as hell, so the thought of them being struck my lighting due to how high they are is funny as fuck. Depending on how old the SlenderFolk is, I'd like to imagine they would have more lighting scars or something like that. Shows the age.

Little doodle of Slenderman as a welp. Result of a convo between my friend on the wholesome tragedy thats going on between Splendor and Slender. In the rp lore, Splendor is the oldest out of the bunch, with Slender being the second oldest. Splendor took care of himself and his brother during the evolution of human civilization, being all cute and shit before character development happened and their relationship turned sour.

But yeah! Slender as a lil cutie.

Speaking of welps - SlenderFolk call their youth welps. Course, the person showed on the ground isn't a welp, as its one of my ocs ( mechanical limbs due to unwilling experimentation by the military - it's a long story ). Again, Slenderman being blind helps create funny ( at least to me and my friend ) scenerios that double as a way to explore SlenderFolk culture and weird cryptid lore.

No one asked but I'll give some lore on Ksit and Dog (my first ever ocs that I created when I was like 4) which were literally my right and left hand anthropomorphized in the imagination of a child

So, που λέτε. The plot changed a lot of times with a lot of uh... Time traveling (not canon, I think) cause I didn't know what was going on either

Ksit and Dog (PS I didn't know English he's not named dog🐶 he's named Ντογκ)were twins but in their world twins were forbidden cause people thought twins were evil and like, had evil plans to mock or fool people, with their evil plans

So they threw the babies away in an island, which was like, απέναντι. Either the parents went there with a boat to abandon the babies or, they like put them in a little boat to send them there idk

Now here's where the plot gets confusing. Cause I remember being a kid, Ksit and Dog worked in.... A studio? I'm not sure what the fuck was happening but it was technically my body, cause Γλωθθας (Tongue, mispronounced) was like the boss/god of the boys. I think Ksit might have been famous, but bc they were keeping their twiness a secret they might have been changing places idk

I picked favorites honestly and I don't think I liked dog very much...

... Also ksit had a second job undersea, like, he went to the sea, opened a door and went underground in a lab where there were miniatures of everyone and I think he was like, controlling? Or like looking after them, I'm not sure

Maybe dog messed reality once and that's why I don't like him idk

But like, idk if that's canon in the story, cause at some point

They do end up in the island (oh yeah not sure if this was clear, they weren't there so far)

Maybe they run away? Oh maybe the people found out about their double identity and they run away or something idk

But yeah, thing is they weren't babies when they went to the island and for some reason they were strong and smart

So at some point the find or see parents leaving their babies there

And they take care of them and raise them and at some point theres a whole mini town of kid twins and the bosses Ksit and Dog

Also they tame the wild animals like Leon or Leonard the lions, and I think they can speak with them cause they grew up there

Also not sure how timing works cause I'm pretty sure I never considered ksit and Dog old adults but there were kid twins they raised at like their 12-15 or something which I considered teenagers

I guess ksit and Dog were like in their 20s

Actually no. They didn't age. They were always an... age. Not sure what age

At some point I did give them girlfriends. I don't remember where they came from maybe they were homeless but they spawned in the island one day I think their names were Lily and Lila or something

I think by the end there's like a revolution or something or the people realize the law banning twins is stupid cause they go back to get their kids back

And ksit and Dog live with their parents at some point and I think the girls are neighbors

Now that I have written everything down, probably for the first time ever. I have a lot of plot holes lmao. Cause they lived in... The town? For a while but besides Tongue I don't remember them having parents but then I just made them roommates

Forgot to mention tho, the secondary characters Ksitdog and Dogksit which were my legs... They worked in the studio. I think they... Look the studio was my body, they might have been walls. Cause I was sitting on the floor. Or like helpers? For each hand idk idk

But they no longer existed after the studio arc disappeared

You know. This story was ongoing since I was 4 to like 11 (just repeating itself with very little progress when I was bored and just like thinking about them) well like, I thought this when I was trying to sleep so yeah

But if I have to guess now or like make the plot better I'd say maybe the law happened bc ksit and Dog fooled the people with whatever they were doing in the studio

Or you know I could make tongue the father who tried to hide the kids but like making then swap places but then they were found out and sent away

At this point I just want to apologize to any twins existing out there

Billy is going to have a hell of a time explaining everything to them, especially the fact that he may or may not technically sort of maybe be just a little homeless? This statement is immediately followed by the tiny feral child pulling a pocket knife when someone mentions that they can find him a nice foster home and he replies, "I am *NOT* going back in the system! *Fuck* the system, you wanna help me? Find an apartment that won't raise an eye brow at me living alone there." Billy gets Very Angry at any mentions of Foster Care and does let slip he has a living relative but "frankly the system is safer than he is."

It takes a lot of debate but Billy ends up agreeing to stay on the watch tower at least part time when he needs somewhere safe to sleep.

Took a while to respond to this one because I was brainstorming names for you. You'd think after so many OCs I'd be better at this. I don't know your pronouns so I searched a bunch of unisex names and settled on Beck, let me know if you like it, it's okay if you don't. Anyway back to the prompt-

After about a week of recovery for everyone so their wounds could heal and to repair their cities, they held a meeting to get a full explanation out of the Captain. He gives his story, leaving out all the unnecessary details (aka all the things that tell people he's homeless) but then someone asks him why he was even in that alley to begin with.

Billy: Ah- wellll uhhhh

JL: ???

Billy: So as you can tell I may or may not have left some details out of that story that I was not planning to tell you but now I feel like I have to.

Batman: What is it?

Billy gradually getting quieter as a talks: I may or may not be living on the streets...

Then the whole fiasco of that reaction ensues. (Think someone had an aneurysm back there.) Til someone asks why he isn't in the foster system, they would have asked about parents first but in this profession you gotta know better.

Billy scrambling out of his chair, practically bolting away just to those words: You'll never take me back alive! They done fucked me over before, I'm not running away from the twelfth shitty home the system gives me! Or worse, they'll send me back to juvie!

Wonder Woman: Twelfth? Wait how many times have you run away from them?

(Hal) Green Lantern: Wait juvie? Kid what have you done before?

By that point when everyone else is just getting out of their chairs to give chase to the little gremlin he's halfway to the zeta beams. Poor planning though on his part, Flash was also in the meeting.

After they manage to get him to chase Billy and bring him back to the table they get a response. Of course after Billy calms down and they promise to not send him back.

Billy: Okay so the twelve families thing. I've run away and closed off eleven foster homes before. After just a few you're labeled as a troubled kid and put on watch. Eventually they stop being able to find families who want you so you either get sent to juvie or they don't care anymore and you slip through the cracks.

more oc doodles... tested a braid for him!! also made the butterfly motif more obvious w the butterfly clips... i rly wanted him to have them but rarely drew him from the back so...

(oct 2020) happy to see visible improvement from then heh... this is where i first got him closer to his current design/palette + decided on the purple/yellow palette and the inverting eye color idea... normally pretty and shiny but w a creepy spotted butterfly eye look when using his powers (simplified the dots to just 3 in his current design)...

more recent doodles (apr 2022)... these r cute tbh i like the 2nd pic, he looks so fluffy + u can see the butterfly hairtie... but i still wasnt satisfied w his design...

in my most recent attempt at designing him(aug 2023) i changed several things... made his bangs longer for a more elegant look(which is actually closer to how it was before)... figured out how to draw his eyes + eyebrows better + more consistent(had been going back n forth btwn double/mono eyelids and thick/thin eyebrows... finally settled on sleepy double eyelids + thick brows) + i also changed the placement of his moles... (used to be right under his eye; changed to middle of cheek + another near the nose.. aka the txt soobin mole KFJKS I like how this new placement gives him a softer and gentle elegant look?? it's subtle but I like it a lot better... Oh also I made his sideburn locks shorter instead of long and curly and I like this change a lot too... idk it looks cuter to me KJFKS I gave him the long curly ones before bc i thought it'd look more unique but... i decided it's more important that I personally like it rather than just give traits to set him apart... he already looks plenty flashy w his eyes and colors anyway🤧

bonus: another pass from p recently (may 2023) where, unsatisfied and wondering how to fix his design, attempted straying further from prev attempts by testing a middle part (and also a mole near his mouth)... but I was actually getting colder and not warmer.... I don't like these but at least I tested it to know that I don't like it!! u can also see a test doodle of the spiky green guy (hyojun) here lol

And finally, here's 1 of his very first design attempts from way back in aug 2019!!! (u can see early hyojun too...)

This was back when I was just starting to figure the current ver of his chara/personality/role in the story... not fleshed out at all but i at least had a vague idea and this was when I decided he would be purple (instead of other palette ideas i had considered earlier like brown hair, orange coding...) But at this early stage I hadnt come up with the butterfly motif, or the purple/yellow palette (he was purple/magenta here) or darker skin... Tbh I consider this a "beta design" bc theres sm thing that were diff/not decided yet but it's technically the same chara ckdbf

I can't fit any more images ㅠㅠ but u can see more concept sketches in this twitter thread... and yea I was testing an inverted eye concept even back then... I really liked this idea so I didn't want to abandon it, and im happy I made it even better since w the butterfly concept *_*

That's what he was, leaving her stuck on the wrong side of the island with a downpour currently soaking her to the bone. And sure she was the one who stormed out of the car after dumping him but god she could not take another second of his whiny apologies, the same of which she has heard a thousands of times before. She's starting to think that without daddy's help and a copious amount of hair gel he would be barley able to hold him-self up right.

Liliya should be given several awards from keeping him under (some-what) control for the past six months. I mean sure he's hot and rich and surprisingly not actually too bad company when he's sober, so like only ten percent of the time, but catching him making out with a  touron at Kelce's party was the last straw. 'oh but i thought she was you babe, i just got up and she started kissing me how was i supposed to know' his slurred voicing repeating in her head, she scoffed at the memory while kicking a rock down the side of the road. If he thought some basic skank with cheap-ass lip gloss was her than to hell with him, she could play the dutiful girlfriend and look after him whens he's ill or be paraded around like a little trophy but she will not tolerate being embarrassed. If Rafe Cameron wants to throw away his life, fine, but he will not be dragging Liliya Woods down with him.

The sudden sound of a horn rips Liliya from her thoughts and she quickly turns to see a beaten down camper van pulling up beside her, oh god if this is how she dies she is gonna be so pissed and is definitely coming back to haunt everyone.

"Hey, are you okay?" the smooth voice of the driver calls out to her, his head sticking out the window as he looks at her with furrowed brows. "It's dark out and not sure this is safest place to be."

She takes some time to scan his face, she's sure she's seen him around but for her that just means that he wasn't important enough for her to remember, he is cute though, with soft golden hair blowing gently against sun kissed skin, covering his gentle features which are then framed by a contrasting sharp jawline.

"Um, hello? you 'kay? Oh my god are you deaf, 'cuz if so then i only know how to say 'your mom' from middle school." It's at this point he twists his hands up, in to shapes of Gods knows what, and also when Liliya finally responds.

"What? No i'm fine you weirdo, sorry i'm not exactly talkative to some random guy who pulled up to me on the side of the road." She spits out wondering why he couldn't have just left her alone.

"Oh well in that case," he replies putting his hands down looking almost disappointed before perking up again. "I'm JJ so there, not a random guy, and your Liliya right?"

She pulls her jacket closer round her shoulders. "How the hell do you know that."

"How do i know who Liliya Woods is? The queen of kooks, Rafe Cameron's hot girlfriend and heiress to the Woods company and fortune? Oh y'know just around." He says a bit too sarcastically for her liking.

"Oh great you're a fan" she rolls her eyes responding the the same mocking tone. "But you can cut that douche from the list."

"What his highness drop you something?"

She actually laughs at that, "Oh please he would never break it off with me, he could never do better and he knows it, me on the other hand? He was just a stepping stone on where i'm going."

To her surprise he smiles at that before clearing his throat. " Well i'd hate to slow you down but if you want i could give you lift? Y'know to wherever you going next?"

Liliya has to think about that for second before deciding that anything was better than looking like drenched rat walking miles just to get home and anyway at least it would be a hot murderer that kills her. She mumbles a thank you before walking round to the door and pulling the rusted handle open.

The first thing that hits her is the smell of weed and sweat making her immediately scrunch up her face. "Jesus, do you live in here or something, oh please don't tell me you're a hippie." She questions glancing back to see cushions and blankets decorating the rest of the space as he pulls back onto the road.

"Sorry it's not fancy enough for you," he chuckles "and only on occasion." At that statement she gives him a probing side look. "Ah just when im needing a place to get away from things. Hide away for a bit."

"Yeah.. i know the feeling." she mumbles before remembering who she was with and quickly plastering a coy smirk on her face. "Anyway stalker, what are you doing out here?"

He lets out a sigh. "just going for a drive really, i crashed at my friends but needed some air on my own." His eyes not leaving the road before turning to her with a playful smile. "And maybe even a distraction."

Liliya looks him up and down, the alcohol left over in her body burning for her to make a fun (but probably bad) mistake. But she has had the shittiest night and could really do with a distraction of her own right now and what better than a hot pogue who she'll never have to see again. This thought makes her turn in her seat, positioning herself towards him, biting her lip before speaking.

"Well i'm sure we could come up with something."

JJ's breathe hitched, not believing the words that just came out the, very, very beautiful, girl sitting aside him. Things like this don't happen to him okay, sure he goes through girls from school weekly and summer brings hot tourons to have fun with in the holidays, but a kook who's family could buy the island a couple times over, who dated the local psychopath and probably gonna marry some guy with a huge trust fund at twenty? It just doesn't happen, sure he flirts because it's fun and it annoys the preppy dudes in polo shirts but nothing ever comes from it. There's always going to be a barrier between them, one that most kooks, especially hot girl ones, would never cross.

He recovers quickly placing a confident smirk on his face, " Huh, got any ideas?"

Then suddenly sees a flash of blonde before the feeling of sticky plump lips crashing against his own, JJ's response being almost instantaneous as his hands go straight to drag through her hair, his fingers getting caught a few times in knots from when she was outside. Liliya's own hands going to his head gripping the back of his hair causing the boy to groan into her heated mouth. The sensation of her breasts pressed against him drives him a little insane, the tight top she was wearing making it perfectly obvious that she was bra-less , he clumsily lifts her over the console pressing her core down against his crotch causing her to break away to release a moan.

He takes the second to quickly rush out,"Are you sure you wanna do this? I mean i don't think a have a condom with me-" before continuing to kiss down her neck. Liliya lets out a breathy laugh, her eyes closed holding him against her.

"Stalker?"

"Hm hm." She lifts his head away from her bruised neck, he whines as the sensation before meeting her lips once again.

"I'm on the pill so, shut. Up." She emphasis between kisses, her hands exploring his body before going to the the bottom of her own shirt, the boy seeing where this was going and quickly moving to help her, the few seconds it takes feels like hours for the blond boy with every inch of skin being studied making his mouth water as her breasts are uncovered he goes to them immediately ducking down to suck them making sure to be harsh enough to leave marks.

She unbuckles his belt reaching in to palm him gaining a a rasped fuck in response, arching his back which in turn placed more pressure from his thigh onto her centre, staining his jeans with wetness that had soaked through her panties as sometime during her skirt had rolled up around her hips allowing him to feel the heat of her.

He pulled away from her chest, quickly tugging a nipple as he does causing her nails to dig into his shoulders.

"JJ" The way she choked out his name made him stumble placing a hand on her thigh digging into her soft skin while the other was spread across her back, cradling her as close to him as was possible. His hands trail up her land as he reaches the edge of her underwear and strokes underneath, it was like a drug watching her wither from his movements. Needing more she lifts her hips up sliding down onto him, generating moans from the pair as they scream into each others mouth.

He felt like he was in heaven with Liliya Wood's tits bouncing in his face, eyes rolling back as his head rested against the seat, but he was finding it harder to catch his breath as the windows steamed up around them making him even needier bucking up into her setting a harsh and fast rhythm, leaving Liliya with nothing to add as she anchors her arms around his neck with her mouth hanging open, gasps getting hit out of the girl with every stroke as she convulsed around him.

His thrusts stall as he gets close to the edge cursing as he snaps up a couple more times before crying out as he spills into her.

Shout out to my fellow singlets with "innerworlds/headspaces" (quotation marks as im not sure this is the correct term for a singlet to use!).

A long description of my inner world and the way my brain works is found below....

I am a maladaptive daydreamer and autistic and i have a very detailed inner world / worlds / universes that i interact with very often. I call mine my inside brain. I visualize it as a world in the center of my brain (if all brain functions were on the outer shell, this world is inside like a bubble). It is infinite. It has layers and depth and it can be zoomed in and out to different parts of it. It can also be "swiped" to a different world (i have two main ones) as well as there being many alternate versions of each world. They grow and change with me and what i need most at that time. I only interact with one main one these days but i keep the old one there, in ruins, to remind me of where ive been and how that part of me is now gone and i have a new inner world now. I also have the mind palace (inspired by bbc sherlock) which is on the edge of my "brain" and "inside brain" where i store all important things such as memories and facts in filing cabinet rooms, and there i can project the memories onto the "inside brain" to watch them the same way i watch the characters in the inside brain!!!! Its great fun honestly and has pretty much saved my life as it gives me a safe space no matter where i am. All i have to do is dissociate and go in there and im safe from harm :3 it also helps with academics because the mind palace has a black board room and a few visualizing rooms that i can do math on and picture any words ive read in respectively.

Its very hard to explain how i interact with this "inner world" because i am a singlet and its just me (and my characters who are like dolls, i control everything they do and say and how they look and act etc etc) in there. Its not like a hallucination, its entirely in my head and i watch from different angles like from the perspective of a movie camera. And i can still see the world around me when im in there. Id describe it like dreaming while awake but i am in full control, so its a daydream really, but in the same space every time and its a very detailed world.

My inner conscious is also in there. His name is Harri. His appearance and personality is who i want to be and how i want to look and his voice is how i want to sound, but he does have a different life to me such as he is Australian American and is adopted, and he has hEDS, which I do not have (but many of my family members do). Idk if its weird that he has a disability i dont have but he just does, thats not something i chose, he just started appearing with braces and a crutch and i was like oop- okay then 🤣 yeah anyway Harri is a cool dude idk, hes 38 and hes like my best friend. He replaced the guy from my old inner world who was called Bill (he was technically just Bill Weasley but i changed him so much he was really an OC) but then things got bad with Bill and i had to start a nuclear war in that headspace to get rid of everything a start a new world.....my brain is weird.

Anyway I love my brain, I have to be careful to make sure I dont have a repeat of the Bill situation, but I avoid it by using only OCs and changing the story often so i dont get too sucked in to anything specific and start becoming delusional and dysphoric about not being a 50 something year old ginger wizard from Ireland- yeah.....that happened. I also started having memories of things that happened to him (which was not good because he had a very violent life) and becoming triggered when watching HP movies because I would remember being abused by certain characters 😬

Nowadays i know how to control my mind better so it stays safe most of the time! But yes that is my brain and my innerworld lmao, feel free to share your own experiences (both singlets and systems!!)!

Also bonus fact: my innerworld was actually my special interest for about 3 years? It was hard to explain so i said my spin was harry potter but it was actually my inner world that was based off of harry potter lol

Elaena and Aenar are both twin children of Alicent and Viserys. I’m not entirely sure where in the order of children they’d fall, but they wouldn’t be first.

Aenar is very separated from doing literally anything ever. Nothing interests him aside from dragon riding, so he spends the entire time dragon riding, or terrorising people. He never gets involved with politics, even when he’s being forced into it. Elaena is a lot more involved, though she is more of a pawn. She’s used just to get the family what they want, and she’s kind of danced around because she’s pretty, and does everything she’s ‘meant’ to do, and is basically the portrayal of a ‘perfect’ Targaryen woman in that sense. Mostly her position is to just try and make Rhaenyra’s claim look weaker by playing to the whole idea that Rhae’s not acting as women ‘should’.

El is pretty closed off, so her interactions with other characters are quite limited. She does obviously go out to play a persons when she’s needed to, but other than that, she keeps to herself. She’s closest with Aenar, he’s her twin brother and her lover it would be expected, but there is a lot of tension there. Aenar likes to torment, and he can take it a little too far. She tends to be very cautious around him because of it, but she’s also very tender and caring. With her mother, she can be very similar, though mostly because she really cares about Alicent thinks of her. Most of what she does, she does because her mother asks if of her. She is also married to one of my other ocs, Cevan, and they’re very sweet together. They don’t talk much, but they do spend a lot of time in eachother’s company and he can be very loving. She doesn’t like how little she finds herself able to reciprocate his behaviour, but he never expects her to apologise for it. Aenar just bullies everyone. He’s an asshole and like I’m not going to pretend he isn’t. He’s nicest to Cevan just because he can’t get away with it with him. And no matter how much he pushes back against it, Cevan is also very sweet towards him. Cevan just loves him some twins idk what to say.

Aenar and Elaena actually share a dragon. I think I spoke about it briefly in another post?? Of their dragon eggs, one of them died and the other hatched deformed. They were sure it was going to die, but reptiles with Bicephaly (two heads) can survive and live full lives, so it didn’t. Both managed to bond with an individual head, but El bonded with the more dominant head, so technically her bond with the dragon is stronger. They named each head, with Aenar calling his Vermeys and Elaena calling hers Balerul. It’s all black, and rather large for its age as each head eats enough for one. Because I like my dragons to be special little princesses. Vermeys likes to torment mice and other small animals, whilst Balerul tends to have a stronger dislike towards people. Balerul is often muzzled for incidents with biting, and has scars across her neck from Vermeys tormenting her whilst she can’t defend herself.

I do want Elaena to have a form of magic, or at least something peculiar about her. But I honestly don’t trust myself enough with Got magic to give her any right now. But I’m reading the books so let’s hope they give me some semblance of an idea how to deal with it because El would have magic. Just… she would. She’s wonderful. She deserves it.

As for dragonlike traits, idk if you meant like physically or personality wise because I’m mentally like just fucking stupid. But the closest I can think of off the top of my head is that Elaena has some weird little envy thing where she kinda wishes she was born a dragon and so… goes out of her way to act like one. Plus she eats people because she saw Balerul eat someone and wanted to know what it tasted like… so… if either of them has Dragon-like traits, it’s el.

Can you please tell more about your redeemed Bellum that hangs around with the main cast in post-canon? Or, like, your hum!Bellum ideas in general?

Ooooh, I have a lot I could say about Bellum. I'll go a bit off this ask and just talk about him in the context of post-ph and some other aus, since he's fun and because most of them share the common thread of him being in human form often. This will probably be messy, but I'll divide it into sections to force myself to stick to one topic at once to keep this from devolving into what might as well be a transcript of a discord dms infodump.

(there should be a keep reading just under here- there are a few thousand words under the cut- if it's lower than it should be then idk, even while drafting this i had issues with it moving further down than i put it)

Human Bellum Basics (mostly design stuff)

It's less of a human Bellum au sort of thing, and more like a design for what if Bellum had a human form that he could change into. Kind of like Oshus having his human form while actually being a whale, it's the idea that Bellum can switch between his human form and his demon form at will, and I have spent... way, way too long trying to figure out this design.

I can't quite remember why I decided to give Bellum a human form (could've been anything from doing it for the hell of it to for shipping purposes) and it took AGES to decide on his final design.

Describing it would take a few paragraphs, so there's art! Commission pieces by @roskii specifically, he's great, he did great, check him out. (i dont know how to make these smaller :)))))) enjoy)

Half of it is directly taken from his demon design, he keeps the tentacles (not always present, he manifests them at will and tend to have much less reach when he's human), his eye, his teeth, his hair color (kind of), and half of it is more... brought in by ideas related to Bellum in general, with some vague references to that demon design; specifically him being scarred all over is a mixture of the idea of him as a violent and almost warlike creature, while also vaguely referencing the markings on his demon body (in the earliest drawing I ever did of a human Bellum design, he did just straight-up have those markings. That picture no longer exists, I'm sure).

As a basic reference, I suppose, in the second image, the character to the right of Bellum (Damien Fletcher) is an oc of mine, and therefore a character I designed (totally worth mentioning tho that with both Damien and Bellum while I did technically design them and gave roskii my notes for how they look, he also took some small liberties with their designs and... ugh theyre great im keeping them), so those two could provide some insight to my character design sensibilities, even if they're just a small fraction of the (mental) character designs I have.

Bellum is made up of pieces of his canonical design, pieces that I think make sense considering what we know about him, and just pieces of other character designs. He has more or less the same haircut as Joker/the protagonist from Persona 5. His hair has been like that for a while, but seeing Joker's hair helped me figure out specifically what I wanted.

It's been... hard, trying to give him a humanoid design, I've seen a bunch of other human Bellum designs, looked at other Zelda characters with both human and inhuman forms, took inspiration for what I could do and how and what parts could be carried over. His hair is easy to explain, it literally is meant to look like he does as a demon. Easy. It is absolutely directly inspired by that bitch from Tokyo Ghoul. I'm not looking up the character name I don't care about Tokyo Ghoul.

I keep him having sharp teeth, I've transposed those markings on his bodies as being scars (which I'll elaborate a little more on later), kept his eye and that he only has one main eye (there is nothing under the eyepatch. It's just smooth. If you've seen The Goonies, it's like what's going on with One-Eyed Willy. That's probably where I got it from tbh), the yellow and black color scheme is further kept with a yellow tank top-esque shirt and black pants and boots, and while they're not constantly present he still has access to his tentacles.

He's not human, just pretending to be.

Leading me to some other little details, such as his lack of ears. And nails. And. Other things not visible that he didn't bother with. He pretends to be human, but doesn't care enough to look truly human- though he can pass as human. When he does bother to actually look human, he does have nails and ears, and changes his eye to a human one, with a color of choice. He goes by 'Warren' when actually pretending to be human. It doesn't mean anything in particular it's just a play on how 'bellum' is latin for 'war'. But, most of the time, he's not really trying. A sense of lack of real care is something I try to communicate with his humanoid design, hence him having generally baggy and plain clothes.

The 'war' thing about his character I think is decently expressed in game with him having an army of sorts with the phantoms and him just coming off as sort of violent but strategic. He also seems very scrappy, mostly attacks with direct contact including just straight up running into Link, and seems to put a lot of stock into sheer force and just fucking killing you at any cost after a certain point, but seems genuinely wary and cornered once someone is shown to be capable of actually posing an actual threat. I like the idea of human Bellum being a bit of a brawler in a sense, fighting with his bare hands and just being incredibly violent when he fights like a human, really only breaking out his more supernatural abilities when he just wants to get shit over with.

Part of the fun with Bellum is that there isn't much to him, so I'm taking a lot of liberties with him. His loose clothes are something that won't really get in the way of him fighting and do the bare minimum, and the boots he wears have metal toes for just a bit of extra ways to hurt people. He's built but still soft in places, not intended to be a muscular as Damien, he's intentionally designed his own human form to be a bit unassuming, so I've kept that he's made of a lot of circular shapes, his face is meant to be a bit of a round shape, his hair gives a round shape, and though he's fairly tall (he and Damien are 6 feet tall btw Linebeck throws off every post-ph cast height comparison) I think of him being a bit... small? If that makes sense? His clothes help with that, they're slightly oversized, and his posture isn't great; He's a bit like a delinquent, starting fights intentionally for the sake of violence and putting little effort into his appearance.

His scars are technically cosmetic. They aren't results of injuries; technically nothing but the Phantom Sword and things like it can hurt him. His scars are references to the markings on his demon body, and just further reflection of him being a creature all about violence and conflict. They aren't totally consistent between the times he uses his human form, but some of the bigger ones are, most notably the scar across his face.

I'll be honest. My earliest human Bellum designs were some Tumblr sexyman shit and I've been trying to ditch that SO BAD ever since. I think I've done well. The scar across his face is a big one. An added imperfection, a massive facial blemish that isn't really conventionally great to look at. His nose specifically has been though some development stages, at first I kept switching between different full nose shapes, then brought in the facial scar and decided that he'd be missing a chunk of that nose, then, decided, fuck it! I can't decide on a nose shape, so he gets no nose at all. I think it works pretty well and I like it.

I really tried to get in a lot of his personality to the design, and I don't want to go into all of it in this section, so just keep in mind that a lot of his design has been influenced by the way I've decided to write him, and some stuff I've already mentioned might be made a little clearer when I get into that. As a quick aside, he's pale partially because I've intentionally made him look halfway similar to Link, and partially because I figure he does not get a lot of sun; you literally meet him in what is effectively a basement, and from the way he operates, probably hasn't made himself seen in a while by the time the events of the game happen. He can't get sunburns, but, as he cannot change a lot of extremely major things about his human form, he can't manually change his skin tone in a major way, and it's likely that when he was considerably younger and newer and spent time in the sun, his skin tone would be closer to Oshus's, so a bit more tan.

In the Context of Phantom Hourglass and Post-PH

Moving swiftly on, as there is pretty much no real info about Bellum's background, I have taken matters into my own hands and decided a lot of it for myself in headcanon; Bellum is technically Oshus's son. Not in the traditional sense, but he was created by Oshus and can very much be considered his child, and to an extent, Ciela, Leaf, and Neri are all also Oshus's kids due to them being created by him (yea even considering Ciela calling him 'grandpa', in her and my defense she lost her memories and he is old as a human), therefore making (in some terms) Bellum to be Oshus's son and the brother of the three spirits. I think it's an interesting dynamic, to have Oshus be the one responsible for Bellum's existence, and for the three spirits you travel with and help you defeat Bellum to be closely related to him.

Oshus himself (when you get the hourglass in ph) says that the sand of hours is made of force gems of the ocean king (whatever... that wording means)- which then suggests that at the end of the day, all sands of hours are derived from the power of the ocean king, and Bellum dissolves into that sand at the end of the game, and I am standing in front of a wild-looking conspiracy cork board trying to piece this all together. I find it interesting if Oshus was the one who created Bellum before he created the three spirits.

(This is a topic for another post/fic but Leaf and Neri were neglected so bad in ph and it would be interesting to see more of how they feel abt Ciela before she gets her memories back and how they feel abt... anything else ig. I think they're neat, too, and I like tying the spirits together with Bellum in this way)

In Phantom Hourglass, it's strongly suggested (mostly through dialogue) that it's been a decent amount of time since Bellum defeated Oshus and took over the Temple of the Ocean King and created the Ghost Ship (though I suppose it could be possible that the Ghost Ship's existence precedes Bellum taking over that temple and defeating Oshus), but things across that sea are relatively calm, despite the new influx of monsters and the Ghost Ship making most people too afraid to sail. No one knows it's Bellum, though, and people do know about the Ocean King, so I wonder if Bellum is known about at all by the general public, or is a being that's more or less completely unknown? My personal theory is that he's vaguely known in some sense, as an obscure deity, and that he was behind the collapse of the Cobble Kingdom, since they were aligned with the Ocean King and Bellum appears to be his direct enemy and would likely then target the allies of his enemy.

Bellum seems to do a lot of behind the scenes stuff, never been seen until the end of the game and not even being mentioned until halfway through. As I think I've said before, he's practically won by the time he comes across Link and Tetra, the Ghost Ship going out and collecting people for him while he sits at the bottom of the temple and drains anyone who might be heading directly for him. He doesn't even seem to concerned about hunting Oshus down for good, and I suspect he likely doesn't even know about Ciela being split apart, so (asides from my idea that gods/spirits/stuff like that only being able to be sealed away, only properly killed under certain circumstances) I bet there's a level of confidence that he's got things under tight enough wraps that he's good to do whatever he wants.

Aaaand then he panics when he realizes how much of a wrench in his plans Link is, throwing two sea monsters at him and causing earthquakes, he's a procrastinator, I think. That, or he underestimated this kid. Both are very possible. Either way, it's interesting to look at what he's done and caused, hiding away the spirits and beating back the Ocean King, taking over his temple, creating the Ghost Ship to roam indefinitely, screwing with the Yook and wiping out pretty much all of the Isle of Ember, and likely being the reason behind the increased number of monsters. If you really look into it, while most characters don't really seem to realize, things are kind of fucked at the start of Phantom Hourglass, and it's interesting how Oshus himself seems powerless and even dissuades Link from giving it a shot, even if he secretly wants him to go and handle things.

With my idea of Bellum being a sort of technical relative to Oshus and the spirits, it opens up a handful of new avenues for motivation beyond just being after securing control and a steady stream of prey, I enjoy the idea of it being a matter of him becoming more and more ambitious, far beyond the station he was created for; going off of his name and ability to create phantoms, I imagine Oshus created him specifically to be warlike, perhaps initially with the intention of having him as a more violent protector of the realm, maybe to keep monsters in check or maybe just as a secondary deity for the world of the ocean king; I'll admit, I'm still a little foggy on what Bellum would've been initially created for, the spirits are easy to figure out, but I do figure it was something not as passive as just representing something, I imagine it as a deliberate opposite to Oshus himself to account for his weaknesses. Either way, I figure a part of Bellum's motivation involves him wanting more than he was given access to by Oshus, and deciding to fully wage war against him in a sense. The short and silly version is that Bellum is Oshus' shitty disowned son. Oshus isn't entirely innocent in whatever I decide caused Bellum to turn on him and the spirits, but Bellum does suck: that is important. The Cobble Kingdom looks like it's been destroyed for a while, I figure that was Bellum's first major target when he started outwardly going after Oshus and hunting the humans of the realm.

In Post-PH, he's the group's pet evil squid on a very very very short leash until he starts behaving himself and having a character arc.

Effectively, Bellum doesn't die at the end of Phantom Hourglass, instead being broken down into the sand of hours he's made of and being sealed inside the Phantom Sword- after all, after the final boss, the sand Bellum turns into goes into the Phantom Sword. I imagine that the Phantom Sword, after breaking and restoring Oshus, turns into the hourglass for Link to keep, while Oshus and the spirits keep the remaining sands, therefore keeping a hold of Bellum. (A bit like Oshus just being left alone after Bellum defeating him, they can't really kill Bellum so they just keep an eye on him while he's in a weakened state) They kind of just keep him prisoner at the bottom of the Temple for a bit, and Oshus finally decides to send him to Link's world as a punishment, since he's at his weakest and Oshus wants to get him to learn some lesson, it's a work in progress. Bellum is grounded in Post-PH.

It's basically that 'the villain when you unlock him as a playable character' bit, where he's quite a bit weaker than he is in Phantom Hourglass, though mostly for the sake of keeping things balanced, so Bellum can't break everything for everyone. He's still powerful, he still accesses his demon form, can't be conventionally killed or injured, and move through walls and turn people to stone, the whole deal, it's just that his demon form's size is impacted (i hc that the size of his demon form can be manipulated at will, but the largest size is dependent of how much power/stored life force he has. he's small at the start of post-ph, but his human form isnt impacted at all. i imagine that for beings like oshus and bellum, their human form is a like a 'low power mode' kinda thing) So Bellum is the Post-PH crew's fourth member, the swabbie on the ship and pet sea monster when they need it and when he has the energy for it.

Bellum is kept mostly in line by a vague fear of Link and his general fear, respect, and curiosity about Linebeck. Linebeck is usually the one holding onto Bellum's leash. Bellum is decently civil with the group from the start, since he's weak and unable to return home until Oshus permits it or he gathers enough power to make that trip, and works mostly as a fighter- when he wants to. The earliest limitation I came up for him, since he's the member with the highest chance of breaking things, is that he will just straight-up choose not to help. He decides he's busy, decides it's not his problem, or other limitations, such as his involvement likely to cause more problems that they solve, since he's rather destructive when fighting.

He's the least sociable most of the time, for obvious reasons, but can pretend, and has the least... casual skills to offer to the group, hence why he gets stuck as swabbie (also general disrespect/as a punishment for the ph thing) and it takes a while for him to properly warm up to the rest of the group. He and Linebeck start off on decent terms and get closer through them just initially trusting each other, he and Link take the longest to get used to each other for... obvious reasons, it takes a lot of fighting together and seeing that they can rely on each other and they learn to be decent with each other just by existing in the same space, and things with Damien start off half decent, Damien was not present during Phantom Hourglass (obviously) and doesn't have the full context of how much he sucks, but it starts decent, gets worse when he learns what happened, and then gets good again because Damien's kind of amiable in general and sees that Linebeck thinks he's fine.

SO! To actually address your question about him being 'redeemed'- he does have a bit of an arc that I'm still mentally workshopping. He isn't entirely redeemed, as the group's general morality is a big off-kilter when Link isn't looking or is willing to get a little gray with things, and there's not really a whooooole lot of atonement Bellum can do in terms of the volume of bullshit he pulled in the past. It's less him atoning or w/e for the bullshit he's done, that's not entirely feasible, it's more him just. being forced to Be Decent and learn some actual kindness and think about more than just his own survival, he's essentially forced to actually appreciate life and the world, it's more him actually... experiencing the world for a reason other than consumption and war and conflict and doing what he's been told, he's effectively just on this long voyage with Linebeck, Link, and Damien, going with them from island to island and seeing what's up. I'm going to try and keep empathy out of it, so he's not really relating on a visceral level, more just choosing to be kind and take gentler paths to solving problems and interacting with others. He's also the group gremlin.

The way I write Bellum is definitionally inspired by other characters, Power from Chainsaw Man comes to mind in how he has a kind of shitty brat attitude at times, he'd fling vegetables across the room because he's a piece of shit who likes live meat. He's got his shitty messy delinquent loser side, where he causes problems and acts like some asshole teenager, and he's got his more serious, calm, almost professional seeming side that reminds the group that he's a few centuries old at the least and practically a god in his own right; generally outside of Post-PH I would pick one of these two sides to focus on for aus, but in Post-PH I need to figure out how the two of them work with how Bellum generally operates.

He's interested in Linebeck and initially decides to go along because he wants to figure him out, but grows to enjoy the rest of the group and that curiosity expands to involve the world as a whole; he experiences things like art and music, where he can't just brute-force his way into a satisfactory outcome and has to learn and find his own style, he reads books and listens to stories and sees the different ways humans live on the seas and I want his arc to, in some part, be about him just finding meaning in the world beyond what he does to secure survival, and the other members of the group introduce him to those other facets of life that he has access to, has had access to. The other part is the group getting Bellum to see most living things as more than just prey for him to hunt and consume, but that generally goes hand in hand with the prior point, as he actually enjoys life and figures out what he likes beyond the basic things he was created for.

He can't fall back on just smashing through everything or creating phantoms, since he's far too weak to do either effectively at the start, and I intend to just force Bellum into basically just being a human character with some unusually powerful magic at his fingertips, first just wanting to build himself back up to what he was in Phantom Hourglass, then just getting to see things in a new light. I'm not sure how to explain it or even what I'll want to do when I get to it, but that's the general gist of his arc, I think.

Other than that, he's just the fourth members of the crew with a serious knowledge of... a lot of things as a centuries-old demon and the hardest hitter in the group who can't and won't cook for shit and kind of just learns to actually live without constantly gunning for those bare necessities long after he's gotten them. I don't want it to be 'he learns to be human' because he... isn't human, but just him appreciating life and seeing some value in it, especially as something with as much power as Bellum, it's a bit messy and I'm still figuring it out, but I've got the general direction figured out.

Bellum is effectively the ship's best defender, and ends up fitting into the group as a friend and with his own specific role with the other individual members of the group. Linebeck kind of kickstarts his arc for him and connects with him the most and Bellum generally stays the closest with him, but Damien and Link help him see other little corners of life, as well as other characters he has to interact with, and I think I want Bellum's side of the story to have the most outstanding mundane-ity to it- there's absolutely meant to be a slice-of-life aspect to Post-PH, but I want the biggest points of Bellum's arc to be comparably the most mundane. It's the little things with him. The others have little things, too, but... I'm not sure how to express the difference, but I promise there is a difference.

Outside of Post-PH, though, when Bellum is present in a big way, his arc either tackles a similar idea in a different way, is just about something entirely different, or he doesn't have an arc at all, either due to not being a big enough part of the story or just straight up not being present.

In the Context of AUs

Bellum is only present in a handful of aus, either fully present as a character, halfway present, or just being referenced. When he is present in an au, he's usually some kind of major character, and he's notable in the crimson king au, the space au, the murder mystery au, and the horror au and one of my 'ruined hyrule' aus. (the horror and ruined hyrule au will be put together for this bc bellum's role in both are very similar) (for reference, here's my au explanation post)

In the horror au and ruined hyrule au, Bellum serves juuuust about the same role, just with different capabilities, contexts, all of that, but it's more or less the same thing. He's frequently present, but usually not acknowledged, and is very close to Linebeck in both, and the two of them pretty much rely on each other to live due to circumstances out of their control; they didn't really go into this whole thing liking each other, but have been more or less forced to become each other's friends due to proximity and just. Needing the others' presence in order to survive. In both, Bellum usually is a character who knows more than the others, but doesn't bother sharing that information since it's either not totally relevant or he just doesn't want to, and he tends to be protective of Linebeck, half because he needs him in order to live, half just because he's ended up liking him. (there is. more to say. but since i may actually write one of these aus [likely ruined hyrule bc the horror one has to be visual and it is VERY plotless rn] i'm not gonna go into much more depth since it would require spoilers lol)

Can't say a whole lot about the space au, either, since the story of that one is still a work in progress, and Bellum isn't particularly a major character, though he is important to some B-plot stuff. Without digging up too much world building and background and general story stuff and important plot bits, he's got a fairly close relationship to Linebeck in this au, as a general beneficiary and friend, and he actually tends to mind his own business and just wants to hold his own position; he's not really antagonistic or anything, but definitionally morally dubious even if he doesn't really directly do a whole lot.

In the Crimson King au, though, Bellum is one of the main characters, and a bit different than in ph-related stuff. He spends a lot of time in his human form, only switching to his little demon form a handful of times, and usually just for fun. He plays the role of Linebeck's closest friend and beneficiary, practically being the reason why Linebeck is able to do any of the things he does in the story, helping him from behind the scenes at times and balancing that business with Linebeck with his more outward appearance as a mostly normal guy working for the person who runs his section of the city... who also happens to be him. The vague politics in this au would take a bit to explain in full, but Bellum in this au spends a lot of time keeping his actual identity under wraps, the basic premise being that he's decided to integrate himself into current mortal society like a normal person to see what trouble he can cause, how he could sustain himself while keeping things stable, and to see just how far he can go- essentially, the only danger he faces is if others figure out what he is, but even then, he knows he could very easily cut his losses and go back to what he's done best.

He's not very active in the main plot, mostly giving Linebeck assignments and pulling strings behind the scenes in order to help and keep him safe, but Bellum does occasionally meddle directly in Linebeck's situation whenever it relates to him, when he needs something extra done, or, later in the story, when he gets a bit worried about Linebeck. His general arc is essentially him owning up to the fact that he does, in fact, care about Linebeck's well-being. Crimson King Bellum is fun, because he can't really just be 'violent demon', and I just like the supporting role I've got him in. He's Linebeck's rich friend who hires him to kill people for him. It's fun.

How I Like to Write Him With Linebeck

Of course, Bellum is going to have stuff with Linebeck, both in aus and in post-ph. Bellum has interactions and relationships with other characters, but the dynamic(s) with Linebeck tend to be the most diverse and important.

With aus: There’s usually a general sense that Bellum is above Linebeck, both in the power sense and in the sense that he’s typically his boss or in charge of him, but in a handful they are on equal footing (specifically, the modern school one, where they’re just classmates.)- the most common dynamic is usually along the lines of Bellum hiring Linebeck to kill people for him. Bellum is typically someone that provides Linebeck with things like payment or equipment or safety- in the Crimson King au, he gives Linebeck a fair amount of money, and supplies his equipment and gives him a place to live when he does jobs for him.

I like to imagine there's a level of... recognition? Not empathy, trying to keep that to a minimum... He's almost gentle with Linebeck, and is uncharacteristically merciful towards him. In post-ph, Linebeck survives being possessed and this marks him as notable to Bellum, since most people he possess die very soon after being released, so he's initially motivated by curiosity and a desire to observe Linebeck when he acts less violently- that curiosity is the biggest reason why he's cordial with Linebeck across my aus as well.

With Phantom Hourglass-centric stuff (which is what I'll mostly just talk about here, since it's kind of the 'base' for all other Bellum and Linebeck stuff I do), Linebeck and Bellum start on halfway decent terms, I'm planning a Bellumbeck fic sometime in the future, which is a bit less focused on that actual fight and more on whatever's going on between Linebeck and Bellum. I'm still trying to pin down exactly what I want with Linebeck and Bellum's dynamic.

I’ve fallen back into shipping them, (Still iffy on ship name lmfao, Bellumbeck is taken by the game and ‘Linebellum’ is lame imo, so I’ve been sticking with just ‘bellum x linebeck’) but it’s not really typically romantic/sexual, though there are some aspects of both, it’s still kind of abstract and easier to define with example stuff rather than just trying to explain it in a concise paragraph.

They both go out of their way to effectively research each other before properly meeting, starting as just trying to find advantageous information, but eventually just doing research out of curiosity, especially on Linebeck’s end, hunting down any material that so much as alludes to Bellum while Oshus refuses to say anything extra on the topic. They have a mutual interest and curiosity about each other.

With Bellum, its a similar curiosity with how Linebeck survives being possessed, and a general interest in him as a person, as Bellum doesn't really care much about the world beyond how it can serve him, but felt the need to look into Linebeck. A lot of the time, Bellum starts with the intention of exploiting Linebeck in some way, then ends up actually caring about him, he usually goes through variations of the same arc regarding Linebeck. It works with Linebeck for me since I tend to read and write him as fairly morally gray, so he's more willing to reciprocate Bellum.

(There's also the whole bit with Linebeck being kind of a monsterfucker and having a thing for being tied up and just a handful of like. sexual stuff on Linebeck's end, but we're talking about Bellum's perspective here we can't be focusing on Linebeck)

Bellum primarily operates with survival on the mind, and at odds with anything that might get in his way, and secondarily treats mortal creatures as something to study. When his attempt to use Linebeck fails, he shifts to that studying, and therefore has some respect for him due to his survival. They both focus quite a lot on survival, and don't have the most interest in making connections, seeing most relationships as transactional. They understand each other; Bellum sees Linebeck's mind when possessing him, and therefore knows a great deal about him.

There are similarities between them; not-great relationships with their fathers, a strong desire for survival at any cost, generally low empathy and a habit of mostly viewing others for how they can be used, curiosity about anatomy, a higher tolerance for things like blood, gore, things that would likely make others squeamish, they both hate Ciela...

(As an aside to that last one, an idea I've decided to integrate into my ph stuff and may touch on in a future fic is that Linebeck calling Ciela 'sparkles' gives her a strong sense of deja-vu before she gets all of her memories back; it's something Bellum would call her, when he was more cordial with the other spirits)

Bellum hangs around on the ship, and he hangs around Linebeck the most, to the point of being annoying, but learns what boundaries are and ends up respecting them decently. I lean more into... things just working out, Bellum more or less being put in a situation where he chooses to change things up and be a bit kinder, starting with the guy he's decided was the catalyst for all of this.

He gets along well enough with Damien (damien ends up in that shipping, too, considering that he's already dating linebeck by the time bellum sorts his own feelings out, so in post-ph, bellum ends up being a sort of on-and-off polycule member), he is eventually friendly with Link, often because Linebeck likes him as well. It takes a very long time for he and Link to warm up to each other, so they'll likely end up in situations where they must rely on each other at the start of things.

Bellum is… very not used to social stuff or acting human, and isn’t even very used to his human form at the start, so he does spend that time with Linebeck while he figures things out, as well. Linebeck's not the best role model for decent social interaction, especially since he works on dismantling his own mask and figuring himself out for a bit at the start of post-ph, but he's the only person Bellum tolerates and respects at that start.

Bellum eventually gets roped into helping Linebeck cook, follows him around for ship maintenance, watches him patch up wounds, and just ends up as a crew member that can kind of fill any basic role, but he’s not making it much further than swabbie.

I haven’t actually written a ton of interaction between them yet, but what I have written always comes off as casual, almost humorous, they joke around with each other and Bellum is detached and unserious at times, but very capable of switching to dead seriousness. A lot of the time, Linebeck tends to take things more seriously at face value, but Bellum is more prone to joking around due to the fact that very few consequences mean anything to him.

He and Linebeck are typically close in one sense or another in most things where they're included, and I generally consider all dynamics between them to fall under the ship umbrella, because I don't consider it strictly romantic (though it usually ends up being vaguely like that), just more that there's some kind of intimacy between them at some point. It's a relationship whose dynamic I think is interesting given the... lack of actual interaction between them, but with just enough interesting conclusions that can be drawn.

I guess it's similar to the general stuff I have about Bellum, kind of just scraping ideas together from canon and then following whatever threads can be connected to them, while trying to make sure it still has roots in that canon. It's similar to my personal 'design philosophy' or whatever for my aus.

I've also considered making their relationship parasitic in someway, as a sort of homage/callback/reference to their canonical relationship, but it's not entirely a direction I really want to go in, and I feel like some aus get decently close.

Final Points

I think Bellum's really neat, so considering the general lack of information or depth to him, I've been playing with expanded ideas and building up my own ideas for him, specific within the context of Phantom Hourglass and a post-ph setting, while many of my other ideas with him tend to then derive from that.

His (human) design is one I've spent a very long time figuring out, trying to mix his demon design in with more human traits, trying to keep him distinctive without getting too complicated, and trying to have that design represent him decently with a fair bit of reasoning behind a lot of that design. It's something Bellum himself controls to a certain degree, so it's in a bit of a crossroads between portraying him based on his character, and being something he uses to come off as generally innocuous.

I've got a decent idea of what Bellum's whole deal is in Phantom Hourglass and afterwards, and I use him in a fair number of aus, often in tangent with Linebeck, whom I often give him some kind of intimate relationship, be it romantic or some other form of closeness, based off of ideas for ways they would interact and why.

Bellum's fun! He's fun as he is, and he's fun to build off of and develop further than what we see in the game. And giving him the ability to shift into a humanoid shape gives even more room to play around in. I don't know when I first came up with the idea, but I've had ideas for a human form Bellum for quite some time now, I've just only recently really started solidifying a lot of it. Even between the time when I got the ask and finished it, I came up with new ideas.

But for now, these are the broad strokes! Not just about post-ph humanoid Bellum, just about my ideas for him in general, though it all really relates back to that one in particular, honestly.

He's surprisingly fun to speculate about! I didn't really expect Bellum to end up as one of my favorite LoZ characters, but I guess any character can end up as your favorite if you spend enough time thinking about him. At the end of the day I think he's funky, and he's fun to use in a post-ph setting.

Okay so... Deck of Phoenix. Prefacing this with with the fact DoP's message is about finding your own way to deal with trauma of all kinds. All of the characters have their own trauma and deal with it in different ways for better or worse LOL! LMAO! The main 6 we have for the cast are Neptune, Vikki, Teresa, Twilip, Ichigo and Salem. Salem is Ollie's OC that got absorbed into the story and became one of the linchpins in Ichigo's backstory (Childhood friends who were kinda romantic then shit happened and then OUAHGAHFDHGgeF anyways)

The magic system in the story is really complicated to explain because it really only makes sense in my brain at the moment and it's supposed to be universal across many different alien worlds :) Hehe! Did I mention this is a fantasy sci-fi? In the way of a fantasy world in a sci-fi setting!!! HEHEHHE!

Every person/soul is born with an ability that aligns with two sigils (magic types) and it can range from something extremely powerful and useful to something that never even manifests. An example of the latter would be a character we have; she seemed powerless until she died because her power was to revive permanently when brought back by a necromancer. Back to the main characters! Neptune canonically has schizophrenia, he has the ability to see the future of someone when he looks them in the eyes, which is how the story starts and also how he finds out he saves the universe from an evil tyrant called Paradox (Name might be temporary, idk lol) But yeah he has a character arc that might be spoilers so i'll explain on discord but it makes his schizophrenia so so soooo much worse <3 <- Projecting my problems onto him. (Also he is the only human in the group)

Vikki's powers are under construction but! She is basically the glue holding the crew together and is a satyress :3 She likes ballet and is the sweetest person you'll ever meet unless you get on her bad side HFGJEHFVQ Also she's built like a centaur and it's so cool to meee cuz I love drawing non-human characters

Teresa is like if Doc was a Loverboy and also a necromancer >:) I'm thinking about giving her the weird gender swag just to make one of the others the only cis person in the group TKYURLF (Twilip) Xe's an alien from a desert planet and is kinda a cyclops lynx/kangaroo mouse and she kinda looks like a vortigaunt now that I think about it..

Twilip. How do I even explain... He's like if Boomer (bubby x coomer) was a person tbh.. Cranky old man who gives tutorials and worked at a library and he misses his late wife so so much :( BUT he has a swag ass pen that can make drawings come to life and he's about the size of a cat btw if you even care <3 /ref

Ichigo... WHERE DO I START. Ichigo's been our OC since we were a KID! So they technically have the deepest lore due to sheer time scale soooo.. They use any pronouns with a preference for they/them and ze/zir and zir sooo everything to me <3 Imagine Leading Light with cloud's buster blade and soooo many more insecurities... Yea :) I can't even begin to dive into their backstory because I will be here FOREVER but long story short, canon system allegory with being 3 souls meshed into one body by the US government to be a super soldier (A human, an alien, and an inter dimensional being) and the alien part is destined to destroy the universe but that's beside the point! I can share some facts n fun stuff! Some I've mentioned whenever I ramble about KJ but I haven't like done anything that gives an overview of them in one place :3

This will be in no particular order. Also way longer than I initially imagined but I can't shut up about KJ ever <3

KJ's name KILLJOYE is based on the initials of their legal name, which isn't relevant to know and I also don't actually know their last name so I couldn't tell you fully even if I wanted to

He's a pretty well known music artist in Black Orbit. You'll know who people are talking about when throwing around their name KILLJOYE, even if you haven't heard anything he's made. Primarily rap, and it will absolutely be hit or miss because they're a Certified Freak™ and makes very niche tunes that will make you go "eugh..... yuck. what sane person would listen to this." (and then either you'll just turn away or you'll keep listening either out of morbid curisosity or you're a freak who unironically is digging it) I just thought about how I haven't made a playlist that's specifically for what I think KJ would make BUT their personal playlist will suffeciently let you know their vibes as a person and the vibes for what they'd make themself. I did talk about oc playlists a while back and how the first few songs will tell you everything you need for what to expect - and KJ got a few new songs so I've moved around the order a bit and I think this is so funny:

KJ became friends with Roger online when they were teens! Met thru a music sharing forum as they both enjoy making music. When Roger moved into KJ's place when he was about 20, they eventually teamed up to make music together as REDROOT. here's that playlist for the kind of music they'd make together. If you're curious about how their voices sounds if you listen to the tunes, I just loosely imagine that deep/rumbly vocals are KJ and more high-pitched vocals are Roger

Going off what I just mentioned, KJ is able to alter their voice due to their parasite, which allows them to get real rumbly and also just make noises that should only be possible by fucking around with the vocals in a program.

KJ's normal speaking voice is like.... idk how to explain, but when they're excited (which they are most of the time) they'll get more high-pitched. They sound like whatever makes you unable to describe them as feminine or masculine sounding. KJ is a freak and they sound like one. That's all you need to know <3

KJ is gay and they're intersex

If you ask them about anything related to skateboarding, they'll infodump so hard if you let them or if you aren't careful. You'll activate them. He knows like literally everything. Be it the history of skateboarding and how it evolved, the history of the skateparks in Sunjin (in case u don't know, Sunjin is the massive metropolis that Black Orbit takes place in), all the technical parts about skateboards and the different types, and everything about how to skate and do tricks and which parts of the body is especially important and how to be postured to pull off tricks well and how to avoid getting too hurt if you do fall etc etc.

KJ is very involved with a skatepark in the region they live in! That's where they vibe with their many friends. It's such a chill and friendly skatepark and easy to approach for kids and adults who wanna learn how to skate - and it's also just a great place to vibe and hang out with friends!

KJ is extremely social. They hang out with their skatepark buddies as well as their music fans often. He's definitely overwhelming to be around at times, but if you just tell him to tone it down, he'll be considerate of that. If possible, he'll just get his energy out away from your space and vibe with ya a bit later.

KJ does have OCD and struggle with intrusive thoughts mostly, but nobody except Roger knows about the latter (well. the extent of it. It's Bad) If you've been around KJ long enough, you'll notice repetitive actions but most of what they do you won't pick up on unless you're aware of the reasons behind it.

KJ has 3 dimples on their face. They're not very obvious but they are There when KJ smiles and I do forget to add em, especially if i simplify the way I draw KJ

Here's a comparison between KJ's haircut pre-story and post-story (if you don't know, KJ isn't involved in the main story of Black Orbit. They have no plot-relevance. But they ARE a key-person to Roger's life - if not for KJ, Roger wouldn't be part of the main story at all)

This is mostly to differentiate between KJ depending on where they are in life for art reasons - realistically, they'd keep the pre-story look, but I'm here for the Layers and Symbolism. They're very different post-story (still a massive freak tho. Might even be more freaky actually <3) and the grown out hair symbolises letting go and changing. Not as rigid, not as obsessed keeping things in one specifiic way that ultimately was holding them back. Breaking self-made rules. Wearing the cap more tilted makes it more loose than snug on their head - making them more open, which is big part of their character development! Despite loving being social and around others, KJ never really opened up to anyone. They kept a massive safety wall between themself and people they care about that was only noticable when they got hospitalized because they were so active with socializing and taking initiative that nobody really realized they had no proper way to get in touch with KJ, so they just. disappeared. Roger was the only one who knew why and where they were hospitalized since they live together.

Man. I can go on forever about KJ and very specific symbolism that no one but myself (and some friends) will be able to pick up on.

Everyone knows KJ is a freak and the only thing this info would do is the equivalent of KJ getting a stupid amount of onlyfans requests. Now all the other freaks in the city knows KJ will get on his knees for good cash and they all want a piece of that mouth. KJ can never lose <3

They still do this when they start dating Roger post-story. Roger already knew about what they were up to, and it didn't deter Roger from catching feelings for KJ. Besides, living with KJ and also Cass later on (both people who are very sex-positive) doesn't give Roger any reason to believe that KJ's business would affect the integrity of their relationship. That's just more money for date trips or other things, and KJ is into some things Roger can't provide for various reasons and that's fine.

What KJ provides is only what they can do with their mouth. Make sure to read their TOS throughly or they'll bite off your precious parts, and you'll be absolutely certain they're serious and threatening you if they have to give you a warning. on the topic of michy, her name is accidentally a nod sorta to her relationship with mingus. since her last name is knight . you can make the connections there but it was Not intentional on my part i just happened to name her that (just like i. named her michelle before finding out that was mingus' original name HJSHBAVJDSAB) and my qpp cress pointed out the potential for it

speaking of names, i got inspired to pick jacksons name based on a tiktok i saw while creating him, with a character named 'chase wood'. i thought it was Really Funny but didnt want to directly rip either of those names so got to work thinking of something. i took the name jackson from the song that sort of inspired his personality (called "jackson, you are dying" by picture us tiny) and grabbed the last name coxx after seeing a randomly generated npc in a video i was watching to complete the joke

also charlie got his last name the same way jackson did in the sense of a random npc in a game video i was watching had it and i thought it was good enough. while i was trying to figure out what kind of name to give him (hed already had the name charlie for a good while, since he was a generic objecthead oc i had but decided should Become a dt one) a character named 'warden steiner' was mentioned like. once. and i thought that sounded close to frankenstein and was like. yeah thatll be cool

also kara has a second major nondateable technically. she may or may not get scrapped bc shes genuinely horrible (i hate. writing her. i made her design pretty nice but i just actually hate her BHJSJHABJD), but shes a rival from karas pageanting days who would lead to two different bad ends if she became real, one of which is. a death end for kara. i dont wanna go into full detail bc again its likely to get scrapped just bc i literally hate the rival but tldr kara gets shot(? or smth idk she eats absolute shit either way) during a performance because the rival convinced the player that the only way to help kara realize performing isnt for her was to sabotage it and it goes Wrong. the other bad end is just kara trying to warn the player that the rival isnt good to hang around and eventually cuts off from the player which would lead to the shit yourself and die end bc player probably gets thrown under the bus by the rival during smth. most likely in a literal sense

i wanna talk about mechanics some now uhhhhhhhh ok so on the topic of 'major nondateables'

i have probably explained how it works before but in order for a character to qualify as a 'major nondateable' they have to 1. heavily effect the route [to the point of interactions with them being able to change its course] and/or 2. heavily influence the route's dateable's thoughts/actions/general motivations during it, sometimes both. they also CANNOT be another dateable in a different route. if i were to apply this to in-game characters for example, mr dickens would be a major nondateable from olivers route, and mayor mingus would be a major nondateable from norms. the majors dont have to have an active presence near the dateable during the route, they just have to apply to the above guidelines. these are the reasons why characters like exie, adelaide, stephan, stop, etc are not considered major nonedateables, because while they are close with the dateables from the routes they have a presence in, they do not change the route or motivate the dateable toward anything. charlie actively changes the route and clearly has a big sway over lillith, oakey would be mentioned several times by kara as a reasoning for why she says or does certain things during her route, and juniper - despite not being close to margo - has the ability to effect the outcome of the route.

and not every route Has to have one obviously . and there are some that would Technically be major nondateables for each other (ex. murr and roe, isaac and vinnie) but Because the other half of the pair is also dateable in a separate route, they do not qualify

also smth i dont think ive talked abt much is the fact that yes outis genuinely does call the ocean his wife. i mentioned he does that a few times when i first made him but there would be several points in his route where he does this (its mostly joking but there would be points where hed be talking abt it and say smth like 'i love my wife a lot but she scares me very much'). also originally i was going to give him a shark tooth on his necklace, based on the one i have irl, but the story for my irl one is a guy punched it out of a sharks mouth and i think if outis found out about that hed start crying and would not want anything to do with it. so shell necklace it was

also the two instances the petstore would show up in are once in outis' route and once at the end of murrs. for outis, you would be accompanying him to his shift that day, and brainstorming ideas for what you can do to try and figure out how to help him overcome his anxiety. kiki would approach you once you arrive and would spend a moment interrogating the player on who they were and what their intentions with her friend were, and would occasionally chime in with her opinion while you talk to him. in murrs route, youre taking him there to introduce him to the idea of maybe getting a pet he can dote on. after he doesnt really connect with any of the animals there would be a little interaction with twerpy where he gives the two of you directions to the shelter that their sister works at and he decides hell go sometime alone. (he ends up getting a cat, her name is darling and hed kill for her. you dont get to meet her bc murr and roe still dont show up in ch3/4 but she Exists)

murrey is a firm believer in the concept of true love and believes hes found it multiple times in the past, and absolutely Despises the thought that some people have of only being able to really find it Once. during his route thats what hes chasing (there would be a point where he complains hes gone so long without feeling true love that he intends to find it again, and the player has the option to tell him you can only find it once - which would start you down one of his bad ends), and the thought that its something you can only obtain once and never again makes him incredibly miserable.

murr is also entirely aware that there are different kinds of true love, but hes been stewing in his loneliness for so long that the romantic kind is the only one his brain will allow him to focus on. this is why his good end sort of helps remind him of that along side dealing with his loneliness in healthier ways

also adelaide has a side job at the shelter as well. when you meet her with margo and juniper in chapter 4 shed mention something about murr adopting darling and inform you that hes a lot happier now that he has the cats company. also margo and juniper are doing better after your help as well bc margo is getting a bit better at communicating and juniper is trying to be less. [gestures vaguely] . shes still an ass bc thats just her but yknow what i mean

also im thinking about making michy my only dateable that shows up in chapter 3. everyone else's interactions that would be in ch3 have been moved to 'chapter 4' but she was my first gal i think she deserves her spot there. youd meet her with norm while heading down to the subway and shed run up to you two after recognizing his voice (shed talk about being on her way to a date with her partners, i Wanna make them show up in person but as they both belong to friends of mine im not confirming anything really bfhdjbfdjs) and talk about how after your help to get out of her parasocial issue shes found true love and is focusing more on her friendships and her happiness. :-]

also funfact i have partial scene scripts for stephan and stops routes somewhere on my laptop. they were both going to be dateables at one point and i wrote a little about what mightve happened + pieces of a scene from each but idk if ill be able to find them nor will i ever show them if i do probably but they are there. somewhere

Okayy thank you!! <3 Just a heads up I’m a sucker for angst soooo What if maybe she’s not home when he comes to visit her, she’s away for vacation or a work thing & he realizes he really hates not being able to see her when he comes back. She ends up saying he can crash in her place bcs she feels bad. He agrees but he was so excited to see oc but not being able to have her, he needs relief bad. He tries to hold off so bad but ig we can chalk it up to him just being a man *cue lana del rey* He ends up having a girl over and oc comes back early from her trip & finds them in bed together. In the same bed they used to share. She’s conflicted because she can’t be jealous because she’s knows she’s not the only one he sleeps with and he’s technically not cheating. Shes hurt but also curious to see if he really doesn’t mumble sweet nothings into other girls ears like he does to her or if he doesn’t kiss them & gives them gentle caresses like he does to her. (Whether he does or doesn’t idk I can’t decide😭😭). When Jungkook & the girl are done he walks her out and she leaves but what neither of them saw was oc sitting on the couch. Once he locks eyes with oc his face turns pale as if he’s seen a ghost. He’s quick to try & salvage whatever it is they have with the excuse that they’re not together & it’s not cheating but oc can’t take the disrespect of him “needing some” so bad that if he doesn’t get it from her he’s willing to bring someone into their own home or at least the home they used to share. He catches her on this & he’s a little toxic about it trying to deflect where he’s wrong in this situation, he reminds her that it isn’t their home anymore it’s just hers because she made the decision of ending their relationship. They argue & she’s so hurt but so mad too bcs it’s kinda true. In the end she feels really defeated. She kicks him out & as much as he wants to fix things he’s just as angry too, plus he has a flight to catch for a fight. Soon as the fights over he jets straight from the arena to her house to finally apologize and fix things but she doesn’t open. He’s so used to her always opening the door that, that’s when he knows it’s officially over, she might have broken up with him first but he’s the one that really ended it. Orrr another scenario is (this is a whole different scene, not including the argument above, but as I’m rereading this I feel like it can kinda go together too lol) he comes back and she opens the door but tells him he can sleep on the couch because she’s adamant on this not being able to continue, she eventually caves and they end up sleeping together but while they’re doing it she cries which she’s done before but this time he feels like it’s a little different but he continues (bcs she’s saying she doesn’t want him to stop) so he settles that she’s just crying out of pleasure. Then once it’s his time to leave again she stops him & instead of the usual quick kiss, she kisses him. Like really kisses him. & before he leaves she says something cryptic like “goodbye Jungkook, good luck” with a small smile. He thinks she’s just saying goodbye until next time & good luck on his next fight, so he leaves and doesn’t think much of it. Only when he comes back she doesn’t open the door, the person that does says they’ve just moved in a few days ago, the previous tenant moved. He tries calling her but the number is out of service, that’s when it clicks for him that she was saying goodbye the last time they were together & this completely breaks him. Omgg this was so long & idk if you can see what I mean when I say I just have huge ramblings!!
