A true hearts message.
Pairings: Ezra Bridger x F!Reader Warnings: Ahsoka S1 Spoiler! This was written at 3 AM -> should be proofread now
word count: I‘ll add it tomorrow
summary: you always felt strange feelings when Ezra was around you. Just when you finally decided to listen to your heart, it was too late. You were never able to tell him what you felt, and the same goes for him. When you finally found him alongside Ahsoka and Sabine, you both felt finally complete again.
authors note: thank you @densenubi for the idea! I hope you like it, had so much fun writing it, especially the beginning 😭😭 considering that it’s 3 AM right now, I’ll go to sleep and correct the mistakes tomorrow if there are any major mistakes c:
well then, this one even has a little bit of angst <3
Tumblr media
Our everyday life’s are filled with various kinds of what if‘s.
They became important parts of our lives, accompany us throughout our most important decisions and even define us.
What if‘s belong to the greatest questions we could ever ask ourselves.
And what makes them so great? So individual? So special?
The fact that even we don’t and never will know the answer to them.
But most importantly.
The fact that depending on what we chose, the ‚what could have been‘ will automatically be replaced into a ‚what‘ll never be‘. Destroying the chances of the opposite one to ever exist again.
-
„I don’t understand how they can be this oblivious towards each other“
Hera whispered, watching you two closely from afar.
„Who? y/n and Ezra?“
Kanan asked while he leaned himself against the wall, looking at Hera.
„Who else? Of corse I mean them!“
He chuckled at her. She was kind of the crews mother figure, she saw y/n, Ezra and Sabine as her own. Which was kind of the reason why she always got so excited when they were so close towards each other.
But they were oblivious, even Kanan saw the tension between them and he is blind!
„I mean you can’t really see them.. but the way they look at each other or act around each other.. it’s painful to watch“
She sighed but Kanan only chuckled at her.
And as if there wasn’t any better timing to her shipping you with Ezra, your faces moved dangerously close as you sorted the crates, gazing into each others eyes.
The blue of his eyes always mesmerized you, and the same applys to Ezra with your e/c ones.
You both stood still, basically panicking inside.
And Hera couldn’t contain her excitement any longer while she was still observing the scene.
„Oh my force! I think that they’re gonna kiss!!“
She whisper-yelled at Kanan. He shrugged it off.
„Wanna bet?“
„Bet on what?“
„I don’t know, choose something. If they kiss you win, if they won’t I win“
He said while grinning.
„Okay then, the winner gets to eat a breakfast prepared by the loser to tomorrow. Prepare yourself though.. I‘m sure that this time they will finally feel the tension between them“
She said proudly, so sure that she’d win that bet.
You felt your heart pounding faster, heat rising into your face and he felt the same. After staring into each others eyes for who knows how long you both moved your heads always from one another. Staring to the ground as if to avoid to lock gazes again.
„sorry I-„
„I didn’t mean-„
You both began simultaneously and then stopped, getting nervous now.
„You first“
You both started again, still avoiding eye contact.
After hearing the same words from the other, you both started to laugh.
Finding it funny how you both fell into each others words.
„I‘m sorry, I didn’t mean to come to close“
Ezra then said catching up his breath.
„Me too, I guess we‘re just both clumsy“
She replied while feeling the feeling of unease wash away and be replaced by a newfound happiness.
„Clumsy you say? That was a perfectly synchronized attempt of a conversation“
He joked, also feeling how the unease was fading away as they continued talking.
Hera at the other hand was dumbfounded.
How where you two so blind?
Her excitement washed away as she heard Kanan clear his throat.
„Seems like I win“
He said victoriously.
„Just because you don’t see their bond and think of the negative!“
She whined, struggling to believe that once again, you both friendzoned each other.
„I don’t always think of the negative“
He shrugged.
„I just know my Padawan and his inner struggles very well, I‘m his mentor after all, he tells me everything“
Kanan continued while he ‚looked‘ at her direction.
„So, you make the breakfast tomorrow?“
He asked with a smirk.
-
You were back in your cabin now, laying on your bed while reading some reports on your datapad.
Everything you could think of right now was the short moment you had with Ezra earlier.
You couldn’t help but notice some kind of strange feeling taking over everytime you spent time with him. Sometimes it was warm, other times it was a rush of excitement but once again you didn’t know what it was or why it was there when you were around him.
He is your best friend, of corse you’d spent time together or organize pranks against Zeb and Chopper.
But as of lately you noticed a change.
Whenever you walked close side by side your fingers were barely touching each other.
Whenever you talked about your stories, being your life when you where still small or his life back in Lothal, you felt as if you could trust him everything.
Knowing that he wouldn’t judge you or see you any less.
Whenever you had a mission you found yourself concerned for Ezra.
Well, you were concerned for the whole crews well being, but Ezra kind of was the first person you had in mind when you heard an explosion or someone starting the blaster fire.
And as if those observations weren’t enough, you noticed the crews strange behavior towards both of you. Always grinning whenever you where close.
Being excited when you and Ezra hugged or trained together.
But he was your friend. He didn’t see you in that way.
And that was totally fine. While you still tried to decipher that strange feelings meaning, you were happy with how the things between you two where.
Not thinking too much into it.
The day had other days for you though when you heard someone knocking at your cabin door.
„Yeah?“
You asked.
„Can I come in?“
The voice asked, who you recognized as Ezra’s.
„I don‘t know if you can but you can try“
You answered, closing the datapad and sitting up, stretching your arms while he opened the door.
„Didn’t know that you were on your joker era“
He said, chuckling when all you did was to shrug.
„just one of my many mysteries“
You joked, looking at him and noticing that he was hiding something behind his back.
„Care to share?“
Ezra nodded, looking kinda proud of what he was about to show her.
„Zeb and Sabine returned from the mission and..“
He revealed what he was hiding behind his back.
It was a stormtroopers helmet. A new one.
„Didn’t have this one yet, it’s perfect for my collection! What do you think??“
He asked her, his excitement evident in his voice.
„You sure do love those helmets“
You laughed, looking at it while you tried to take in it’s features.
„Well, I‘m Ezra the collector Bridger, loved by most, feared by stormtroopers“
He said proudly, acting as if he was twice the height he had, deepening his voice while he held the helmet high.
Everything you could to was to watch in awe as he spoke about his collection, starting to feel the familiar feeling again.
-
Nearly one year passed and a lot of things changed.
First, that strange feeling you had grew stronger.
Whenever you and Ezra spent time together you felt some kind of tension between you two.
At first you shrugged it off, thinking that it was just.. not gonna lie you didn’t even know what you where thinking.
But you for sure knew that you found comfort in Ezra’s presence, feeling safe around him, knowing that he’d always be there for you when you needed him, and the same counted for him.
And just as you started to understand that strange feeling you felt whenever you were around him, everything changed.
A lot happened to be honest, but the most important thing right now was that Ezra was on that ship.
The very one that was now being ‚held‘ and moved by the many purrgils you all saw through the window.
It has to be Ezra’s doing. You were sure, connecting with creatures through the force is kind of his signature move.
Everything that happened after that was just a blurr of memories.
You could only remember seeing that the purrgils where preparing themselves to jump into hyperspace.
The panicked voices of everyone, trying to convince Ezra to leave the ship.
Your attempt to bring him back.
The extra amount of concern you always felt for him was stronger then ever back then. Deep down you knew that he wouldn’t come back, not as long as Thrawn was still there. This was his chance to get rid of him and you knew that Ezra wouldn’t back down from this.
He wanted to keep his family safe.
But unbeknownst to you, he even more wanted to keep you safe.
“…. and remember, the Force will be with you. Always...”
And just like that he was gone.
There were no traces to where the purrgils could have taken the ship.
No known planets where they could have been.
Not a single hint to where he was now.
Ezra was gone and just when you saw the ship disappearing into hyperspace, you immediately felt a peng of pain in your heart.
The closeness you felt, the warmth and the little excitement were gone.
As if they never existed.
In that moment you just felt numb, slowly starting to understand everything.
Putting pieces together, recalling your memories with him, everything you felt.
All of that was gone now, replaced by a sudden worry, fear and emptiness.
It was just then when you realized that you started to fall in love with him.
That everything you felt was your body trying to tell you to listen to your feelings, to your heart instead of your brain.
It all slowly came back to you and it was just that moment when you realized that you ignored the feelings for over a year now, while he was still by your side.
You had the chance to tell him.. but instead you chose to betray your feelings, keeping your mouth shut about this, scared of you he’d react.
And now you realized that you ignored your heart for to long.
The moment you accepted your feelings for him, was the moment you lost him for maybe forever.
He was gone now and you never had the chance to tell him that he was loved.
And all you could think about was about the ‚what could have been‘, followed by the bitter truth of ‚what‘ll never be‘.
The Version you'd be living now.
-
10 years passed by and they were the longest ones of your life.
The events on Lothal plagued your mind.
His voice was a constant part of your dreams.
The memories from before that day replaying endlessly in your head.
The regret you felt since that day, of not telling him sooner or in fact just tell him about your feelings being unbearable.
The mere thought that he could be dead by now, or suffering, making you even sadder.
And now?
Ten years later, after everything that happened, you found yourself on a Planet called Perridea.
It was the purrgils’s cemetery, a destination they all had when they felt that their time had come to an end.
And now you were here, with Sabine and Ahsoka by your side.
Finally fulfilling your personal mission, finding Ezra and to bring him back where he belonged.
It was a chaotic reunion.
Some kind of crab people found you, recognizing the sign on Sabines armor.
Even if you had troubles with communicating with them, they knew Ezra’s name.
Sabine then somehow asked them if they could lead us to him, telling them that we were his friends.
And that’s how we ended up here.
Standing in between the houses of the crab creatures, looking around, taking in the sight while trying to understand that this was the place where Ezra was living for 10 years now.
„I knew I could count on you..“
The group then heard, immediately turning around to lock gazes with the person in front of them.
He stood there, leaning himself against a wall while He had a warm smile, one she didn't see in a while now.
It was him.
Ezra was here.
Just when Sabine and Ahsoka hugged him, holding him into a tight embrace which seemed to be never ending, it was your turn.
Ezra had in fact the same struggle like you.
After he was stranded here, managing to escape from Thrawns flagship, hiding himself from his troopers, he had more then enough time to think and meditate.
And one thing that he noticed was that he felt that something was missing.
Not the fact that he was trapped in another galaxy, but a certain someone.
This someone being you.
He also felt a new kind of feeling when he was around you and this feeling disappeared when he left Lothal, or well, his galaxy behind.
He realized that the only time where he followed his heart was when he sent himself away with Thrawn, straight into another galaxy.
Only to keep his family and his planet safe.
Especially you.
And just like you he was too late to accept that earlier.
One question left him sleepless during nights.
What if he had told you about his feelings before it was too late?
It all didn’t matter now though.
You were the next, looking straight into his eyes while walking closer to him.
You both pulled each other into a tight embrace, holding onto one another as if your life’s depended on it.
Taking each others warmth, scent, heartbeat and presence in.
You both were too scared to say something, not knowing what to say in the first place after all those years.
Instead you stood there, enjoying the moment and each others presence.
Ahsoka and Sabine stood before you, watching you as your hug now really seemed to be endless.
The tension between you two was undeniable, but at the same time you both were just happy to finally relax under one another’s welcoming embrace.
They both grinned, just waiting for you two to kiss already.
Sabine already shipped you both with Hera, back when Kanan was still alive.
Ahsoka started to ship you some time later, seeing you now though, reunited and relieved really filled their hearts.
For the first time in a decade now you felt complete again, and the same went for Ezra.
When you pulled apart, you both started to take in each others features.
He was a man now, the boy you once knew grew up.
„you‘ve grown..“
You whispered, a hint of hapiness in your voice.
„would be worried if not.. it’s been some time“
He tried to joke.
„Even have a beard now.. now you’re not longer Ezra the collector Bridger but Ezra Bridger the wise“
You replied, returning to his sense of humor.
„Hey..! I‘m not that much older!“
He then laughed, gesturing to his hair.
„See? Not one grey hair here. Totally young“
Ezra continued, giving you the proof you didn’t need to understand that he was mentally the same person you knew 10 years ago.
As for him, he was just happy that you managed to find him.
And when he showed you the small village, walking around and explaining them how they found him when he was in danger, he and you once again walked side by side. Very close even.
So close that your fingertips were touching his.
This time you both didn’t pull away, but you also weren’t confident enough to walk hand in hand.
Ahsoka and Sabine noticed that and couldn’t help but share knowing looks.
Old habits die hard after all.

Rebels Rewatch: "Heroes of Mandalore"
Some familiar TCW faces as we close up the darksaber arc.
Live reaction version.
Tumblr media
Sabine's transformation into co-protagonist is nearly complete, as it's the end of her darksaber arc that starts us out this season.
Also, you know, the Season Four trailers framing the whole of Rebels as the story of "A boy who was lost and a girl who was broken".
Not that I minded as it meant that Ezra and Sabine would be spending a lot of screentime together. :D
After not really touching on it in a while, Fenn Rau's courtesy hand on Kanan's shoulder to let him know he's signaled a stop was a nice little way of demonstrating Kanan's blindness and the accommodations other characters make for him.
Ezra finally has that jetpack he's been wanting lol.
Tumblr media
I reserve the right to be giddy about the fact that Ezra is literally Sabine's right-hand man. And also that she painted him another Scout Trooper helmet.
Kanan showing off with the Force Leaps there, which Fenn Rau lampshades.
And now we're introduced to Tiber Saxon, Gar's less interesting more fanatical brother.
A+ mid battle banter. I do distinctly remember being delighted by all the playful quipping and snarking back and forth when this first aired, and it's still cute now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once again all it takes for Ezra to surrender is someone threatening Sabine. <3
I... I'm sorry, apparently I'm going to be Obnoxious Obsessed Sabezra Shipper for this rewatch, let me attempt not to comment on just them and their stupid faces and every time they interact.
Lol is one of the Kryze Mandos Naruto-running?
That was an awfully quick search of the base there, guys.
"Bo-Katan was made regent by the Jedi before the end of the Clone War." For all of what, one day? Lol.
I do have quibbles about Bo-Katan's characterization here in Rebels, at times it seems like it's assuming more character development than we actually see happen, when we eventually get back around to telling the story of the Siege of Mandalor.
I do find it kind of funny that SO many people were expecting Sabine to have an arc where she becomes Mand'alor when literally the second episode she actually had the darksaber she was immediately like, "Nope it's not me, I'm just holding it for whoever will be the true leader." Course I guess they expected that in this episode she would take up the mantle.
No dice and frankly I am not interested in that kind of plotline unless Ezra gets to be an accessory to it. (I uh... I have a thing about the Royal Maiden/Steadfast Knight dynamic.)
Tumblr media
Ezra playing therapist again. <3 Nice to see it go over better than in "Trials of the Darksaber", Sabine is learning to be more open with her thoughts and feelings.
Kanan attempting the playful teasing banter he usually has with Hera (that Ezra and Sabine are suddenly very adept at now, what) but she shuts it down. This is another quibble I have about Season Four, I do not understand Kanan and Hera's sudden awkwardness and Will They/Won't They? when previously it seemed like they had been depicted as already a settled matter. Not really overt but comfortable and resolved. This weird walkback feels like a way to add drama and tension to Kanan's eventual death, and I really don't think it needed that?
The way I usually reconcile it is by headcanoning that Hera conceived Jacen in the three weeks between S3 and S4 and she's been standoffish and cagey about it because she doesn't quite know know yet and she's being anxious and worried and preoccupied and prickly as a result. I headcanon this because it's been my own experience when the husband and I have, ahem, not exactly been careful and had not had more kids in the plans.
Anyway.
Tumblr media
Sorry is this not how the scene went? Lol.
Alrich immediately knows it's his baby girl aww.
Huh, I'd forgotten the side pockets on these transports could be used to stick extra troopers. Neat.
This is pretty nicely staged, a lot of fast smooth movement with the jetpacks, Sabine using the bike as cover was a clever touch. The speed of everything is really on display.
Love this hero cue when Kanan ignites his saber and enters the fray. Every character gets a nice little moment of being awesome.
Even Chopper gets to be a flying menace, clonking that one Trooper on the head with a blaster lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IF NO SUPPOSED TO SHIP LITERALLY WHAT EVEN IS THIS "SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND." MOMENT?
And ooop, show just stabbed me with Sabine's frantic worried, "Ezra! Get out of there!" and my brain went straight to the finale you guys really need to stop doing this to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
<3333333
Little shit even gets in a cheeky, "Was wondering where you were." I love him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Kanan and Ezra look so happy for her awww.
Tiya's acting when Sabine realizes her weapon is on the battlefield is very nice. Sabine sounds horrified and heartbroken and scared.
Sabine's theme drawing out in long slow mournful notes here.
I'm actually really glad they didn't kill off Ursa and Tristan. It would have meant basically nothing since neither of them were developed enough characters for us to care and also I really didn't need another How To Train Your Dragon 2 Stoick/Valka gutpunch in my life.
Never kill off your characters unless you can tell more story with them gone than you can with them there.
Sabine's showing more emotion than we've seen out of her since "Trials of the Darksaber" oof.
Sabine getting a little bit distracted in her anger and grief and needing a nudge from Kanan. She's going to struggle with this a bit this episode.
It's cute how Bo-Katan kind of implies that Ezra should fly out with her to take down the TIEs.
Tumblr media
This poor boy looks so consternated with all these crazy Mando shenanigans lol.
Yeah no, watching the Dutchess in action does not get any better.
Thrawn being all Villain Admirer of the Spectres again, while also picking at Tiber Saxon's logic here. It's basically the same logic and line of objections he has to the Death Star, that it's a bloated and inefficient waste of resources and will create more Rebels than it can kill. Thrawn is trying to point out, "Yeah so this literally insults the honor of a hot-headed quarrelsome proud warrior race culture how exactly is this supposed to quell them from rebelling again?"
Tumblr media
Awww.
Ezra immediately gearing up to fight Bo-Katan to protect Sabine. <3 And then the other Clan Kryze members a minute later. <3
Tumblr media
"Down boy."
You know something I haven't commented on is just how washed out Mandalore looks. Like, Lothal is covered with brown plains too but there's so much more life and color in them. Like the difference between Kansas farmlands and a nuclear testing site.
There's some kind of unspoken history here between Rau and Bo-Katan in the way they interact which... intrigues me. They talk like old friends and I would definitely like to know more about how they know each other.
With Bo-Katan's little speech here, I do see how people were expecting Sabine to be set up to be Mand'alor.
Something darkly ironic in Sabine naming a superweapon after a pacifist.
Tiber channeling his best Imperial fanatic here. What an ass.
Tumblr media
This shot was apparently a visual shoutout to a similar one in TCW's "The Lawless", with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Not the last time Ezra and Obi-Wan would be paralleled.
Tiber really shouldn't have let Sabine have access to her own weapon, that was a stupid move.
Ooooh there's more on that theme of "We make deals with the Empire to survive." Tiber honey that never works out for anyone.
Sabine modifies the weapon all right, but Tiber's eagerness to use it after she warned him not to is hoist by own petard poetry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BOY IT SURE IS A GOOD THING SABINE DIDN'T SET THE WEAPON TO FULL POWER OUT OF REVENGE. JUST IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF SHE LET HER ANGER DRIVE HER TO DO THAT?
OH WAIT I DON'T HAVE TO IMAGINE, TVTROPES HAS ME COVERED.
Tumblr media
THANKS TVTROPES. THANKS FOR THAT BIT OF FRIDGE HORROR.
Sabine does still have a very mean vengeful streak in her even after all her years living with Jedi so it takes a bit of prodding from Bo-Katan (of all people) to talk her down from this wrath moment.
We can count that whole Star Destroyer as Sabine's kill right? Lol, she's catching up to you Chopper, better murder some more capital ships.
"The Empire will send everything they have to crush Mandalore." Haaaaaaaaaaaaa. *cringes in The Mandalorian's account of The Purge*
Honestly I think the reason they had Sabine give Bo-Katan the darksaber was because they didn't want to have to write around Sabine being absent again lolol. Having to stay and be the leader of a whole planet would have definitely taken Sabine away from the front lines of the wider Rebellion and more importantly taken her away from her crew and family and like hell were they going to let the Spectres go back to Lothal without her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ngl, I ship it a little bit.
Tumblr media
This could have been a little more earned, not gonna lie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
IF NO SUPPOSED TO SHIP LITERALLY WHAT EVEN IS THIS??!!?
I'll be honest I'm not really invested in the Mandalorian side of things in fandom so while a lot of these action sequences were pretty cool visually I didn't have much emotional connection unless characters I already knew and loved were onscreen. I'm at least happy we got the arc done and over with and cleared up the rest of the season for other, more interesting (to me) things.
I've got no real thoughts on Bo-Katan, she's fine in this episode but like I said, inconsistent with her other appearances, I don't mind her being leader and having the darksaber but I would have liked her characterization to have more of a coherent throughline from TCW to Rebels to The Mandalorian.
Let's be honest I'm mostly just here for the Ezra/Sabine bits. <3
Next up, field trip with Crazy Uncle Saw!

Rewatching tbb wish me luck.
S1E1
First thing I've noticed is that the way tbb fights is really inefficent. It looks cool until you realize they're taking out droids one by one and techs droid poppers are only good for one use each. A normal droid popper would take out maybe like 6 droids at once if they're close enough. Tech used three and got three but we saw the whole sequence of it ig bc it's mean to be cool?
And again like I'm confused bc how much of this is their own skill and how much is access to weapons that regular clones don't have.
Like why does tech insist on getting as close as possible to stick these grenades and droid poppers on droids when the more efficient thing is to throw it from a distance?
"if you're done hiding down there" shut UPPPP oh my god
You know how like. Ppl say the Travis books are mean spirited and the jkr books are mean spirited. This feels mean. Like these are clones who were about to be overrun, who needed help, who relied on you to save them and you're immediately berating them for what?? Needing reinforcements? Waiting for YOU to do YOUR job?
No bc like just how like in s7 tbb gets away with breaking chain of command they do it here too. The captains right to berate them for insubordination like huh.
Caleb's voice has me in tears 😭
Geez the way they converse is so annoying. Wrecker is so annoying. I don't like characters that yell a lot sorry.
Kinda crazy that it took tbb that long to run back.
"talk to the reg captain" he has a name
Again the way they say regs just sounds like a slur.
Also like I feel like episode one is just the beginning of everyone else being rewritten in order to prop up tbb like kanans fans were PISSED his entire story about O66 was rewritten to give something to them.
Ah yes the first instance of Wrecker and tech being the dumb/genius trope.
Now that I think about it it actually feels kinda disrespectful to have like. The goofier/funnier moments of like the food fight and all that in an episode where a genocides just been committed???
And like wrecker isn't funny they don't actually know how to write funny. When that one critic said their personalities had been turned up to an almost caricaturish degree they were right.
And tech here asking that one clone what division he's from and naturally being brushed aside and then using that as evidence that they're still the same. Like huh. You see kaminos lockdown you see the Jedi have all been executed you see ppl got shit to do and you step directly in front of someone to ask them a stupid question like that 😭 like what was even the point of that scene they just screen wiped immediately after 😭
Good lord they're so ugly.
"they manipulated preexisting aberrations in our DNA--" ok so like. An aberration implies something bad. Defect implies something bad. But it's clear these aberrations were good differences taken to their extremes. Because in what world is looking at someone's DNA and seeing there actually a genius (barring that this isn't how this works) like actually a defect. "Oh this guy's strong and this one seems to have stronger senses" that's. They started out good and then were taken further??? Like??? And it was done on purpose too, not like the the Batch were unplanned, the Kaminoans specifically made them this way which is a luxury and privilege like no other clones can have.
Which is what annoys me so much about tbb being bullied by regs for being ~different~ bc that's such a shallow read on what differences exatly would make the regs hate tbb so much. Like no kdy gets bullied for being smart or strong they get bullied for being annoying as hell and being arrogant and derisive to ppl they think are "beneath" them. So the bad batch were bullied for their appearance then and the privilege they have over other clones in clone society. So like. These white boys that were made to be better than everyone else and get rewarded for it all the time look down on the """regs""" why am I meant to side w tbb lbr. Like it looks like hyped up white kids getting bullied by jealous brown kids. Huh. Bffr.
This is so bad. IM ONLY 18 MINUTES IN WHAT--
"you're more machine than man percentage wise" die

was inspired by @mango-mya's s/i inspo board challenge and thought i'd give it a try! some of these are more influential than others but i'll still explain myself for each one ^^ i'll also include small tidbits that didn't make the image since they were moreso concepts and not characters
[reminder that kel uses she/her and he/him pronouns!]
---
appearance!
sintas vel: zeltrons tend to dress in darker clothes that are a serve, and sintas's look always felt like a look to me. i liked the idea of a darker crop top and jeans, and so i mentally kept it in the back of my head when thinking of outfit ideas
guy fieri: i needed something to contrast the otherwise sleek and somewhat spicy way that zeltrons tend to dress, and i also wear a a few flashy button-ups irl on fancy days, so guy fieri ended up on the inspo board for kel's outfit (and also he made me want to add shades). plus i'm built like him so that's a bonus
other inspo: for the outfit, i would google hot dark outfit pieces, specifically with leather or stuff like buckles and straps around the body. i actually have a screenshot of the shirt i modified for kel
Tumblr media
backstory / lore!
cere junda: in jedi fallen order, cere had given up the force after her padawan turned to the dark side due to the torture of the inquisitioners. her severing her tie to the force was driven by guilt and grief. i modified it a bit for kelesgan, who was a jedi youngling that never had a chance to be given a master before order 66 happened. he ended up being taken in by maul, who trained him in the dark side of the force. however, kel's guilt after learning maul's true motives (and realizing she was totally duped into being a sith) is what caused kel to run off and swear off using the force unless absolutely necessary for survival. i had a lot of enjoyment in the idea of a force user who struggles with that side of themself. it's a nice trope i wish we saw more :)
cikatro vizago: this one's a bit more straight-forward. vizago was a smuggler that sometimes gave help to the rebels, and then by the end of the series actively assisted the rebellion in liberating lothal. kelesgan was also a smuggler (funny enough, she worked with vizago and they even dated at some point) that joined the rebellion when attaching to the ghost crew like a tick
other inspo: i really really wanted a grey jedi type sona. that's it. that's the bullet point
personality / vibe!
lando calrissian: he's charming, he's a scoundrel, and he's very much what kelesgan is like (which is funny given these two also have a dating history, albeit brief). he lived for a while only joining fights when he saw "an angle", but then eventually had a change of heart and decided to join the fight against the empire independent of his own personal benefit. he is also a smooth-talking negotiator. i apply basically all of this to how i view kelesgan. she thinks she's the shit, and to an extent she kind of is the shit. kel has a charm in the way he holds himself, but he also had mixed reviews from those who knew him. (i also really like lando as a character. king)
dippy fresh: i am so sorry.......is what i would say if i was a BITCH! so anyways dippy fresh was mabel's way of viewing dipper in a version that was the Cooler Edition of dipper. and in a sense, kelesgan carries himself like he's All That and even comes off to ezra as the Cooler jedi master sometimes when kel eventually comes forward about his connection to the force. this causes major beef between kanan and kel before the two end up in a polycule with hera
other inspo: on the note of the last bullet point, part of me wanted to make a character that could be kind of like kanan but if he was very much the Cool Dad and not so much the Responsible Dad. i wanted kanan and kel to have beef of kanan initially wondering if he magically got replaced overnight by some big flashy pink loser. and then they kiss but that's not important rn
i'm sure there's stuff i'm forgetting but this is the general gist!

Chapter 43
(Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/40473339/chapters/109087812#workskin)
Anakin's 'List of Things to Do to Adopt Ahsoka" couldn't be on Obi-Wan and Satine's fridge before, because then Ahsoka would see it, but now she knows, so it's okay to put it out publicly.
High school does start too early; there have been multiple studies done on this.
My gut tells me Dr. Windu doesn't like this early morning arrangement, either; he's just not whinging about it the way the others are.
I think I've said this before but Ahsoka's aunt/uncle/cousins backstory was meant to be based on Jane Eyre, only now that I'm reading it again it sounds more like Cinderella, with the stepmother and two stepsisters. Oops!
Sorry for throwing shade on anyone named Becky (I'm thinking of one particular Becky at my work who is...not popular.)
I have a very, VERY slight mention in a later chapter of an event that Depa/Caleb and Cham/Eleni/Hera all attend at the same time, mostly because I wanted to give a rationale in this universe for how Kanan and Hera could meet. It makes me happy!
I like the juxtaposition of Anakin maybe committing tax fraud but also he's VERY well prepared if anyone needs CPR or the heimlich.
Depa joining in on Ahsoka's mononucleosis joke just tickles me.
"You had to do this without a YOU" was the line I basically wrote this whole scene around just so I could accommodate it. You know how sometimes you just see little flashes of something and are like, that would make a good story? That was that, for me.
Let Obi-Wan have a cry at work! It's okay! We all do it sometimes!
I sent Satine to this Back to School night, because I'd already written the one where Obi-Wan went to parent-teacher conferences, and I thought it was funny to continue the joke of Anakin being the one who's supposed to be attending all these things but he never does. Let's just assume he does so later, we just don't read about it :)
"Usually on my arm" LOL. We were obsessed with writing on our/each other's arms/legs/hands in high school.
I verbatim quote Withnail & I in a later chapter - "We've gone on holiday by mistake!" - but that's the energy I was going for when Satine admits she was strong-armed into joining the PTA.

can you elaborate more on why you don't like kanan? i've always been neutral when it comes to this character and didn't really care for him the way other fans did.
hera was cool though but filoni is probably going to fuck up her writing in the live action.
If you had asked me this years ago I would have had a detailed, chronological list. Regretfully, memory problems. And full disclosure: I only watched like 2 seasons then some episodes every now and then bc my lil bro watched it.
What I do remember is Rebels had amazing women characters. Every single one was bold and unapologetic and carving out her own spot in important lore. The men..... Useless. And had butt-ugly character designs too, but that's just me being petty. Ezra was the most forgivable for solely existing to Screw Up bc his knockoff-Aladdin ass was just a kid, but Zeb & Kanan had no excuses for being insufferable deadbeats.
Kanan was what recent fandom would call poor little meow meow. Depressed, angsty, emo, buzzkill, joy vampire, abloobloobloo, etc. I have a memory of Ezra watching this grown man sit in a room like a moody, teenage zombie. When he wasn't being a zombie he was being an asshole to everyone with zero moments of charisma or vulnerability to earn it. "BUT HE SURVIVED ORDER 66! HE'S TRAUMATIZED!" Sure, I'd get that, if they focused on him working thru that, gave him a personality in the meantime, and Order 66 hadn't happened like 14 YEARS PRIOR.
That's the entirety of Rebels to me. Hera and Sabine (and sometimes Ahsoka) being amazing, competent, charismatic, brave, moving the plot forward and fighting thru, while also being kind and caring and funny. Then we had Zeb and Kanan being complete jerkoffs who do nothing but mooch off these heroes at every turn. Hera should have dropped them out an airlock. You can tell a man who sleeps with his own picture wrote them. The greatest pilot of all time in the entire galaxy did not deserve to cart the most boring, sadsack, failed Jedi around out of pity. "BUT KANAN BECAME A HERO! HE GREW AFTER HE BECAME BLIND, AND HE SACRIFICED HIMSELF!" Oh, so disability p**n. He's so weak of a character that the best thing he ever did was die? Great job, Filoni. He shoulda just thrown himself down a sarlacc pit in s1 and Ezra could've had Hera as a mentor. Hell, even Maul would have been better at the job. And they eventually made Hera carry that failure's child? BOOOOOOO!
That got a bit more salty than I wanted, sorry.

Prompt list #1 Angst “This is all in my head. It’s all happening in my head.” Kanan/Hera
I don't think I've ever opened my laptop faster to write something in my life. Please enjoy my pain embodied in a ficlet. I'm a little rusty but I hope you enjoy this <3
also on ao3
send a prompt!
.
.
“Of course you see it in your head—you're blind.”
Kanan’s eyes visibly roll at Hera’s comment, and he readjusts his knees in the soft dirt. His fingers idly graze the seams of his shirt, and she knows he’s deep in thought.
“I’m sorry,” Hera says, quieter this time. “You’re right. It was a beautiful sunset.”
Her eyes trace the horizon, toward where his hand had just been outstretched only a moment before, as if he could touch the misty, hazy red sun and freeze it as a picture in her memory for eternity.
If only.
“The funny thing is . . .” he murmurs. There’s an emotional edge to his voice that catches her off guard. “Everything is more beautiful when you see it through the Force.”
His head turns toward her and tilts just slightly as if staring into her soul, his serene aura still ever present.
Her breath catches in her throat. Or is it just the dust in the air?
She’s suddenly acutely aware of her proximity to Kanan and the carefully-curated, unbreakable bond between them and the years and years of pure, unblemished trust they’ve established together. The scar across his face reminds her of all they’ve endured together, and she’s struck by the depth and severity of it all . . .
She’s taken aback for a split second before breaking contact with his unseeing eyes.
“Maybe . . .” She can’t quite wrap her tongue around any coherent words. She takes a breath. “Maybe that’s why you Jedi are so at peace. Rose colored glasses?”
His easy chuckle breaks that momentary uncertainty like a blaster shot to a piece of plexisteel, and Hera can breathe again. “I wish.”
.
.
All she sees are his eyes.
Blue.
Imprinted in her mind like a pressure sore. A stark, bleeding wound on the inside of her brain.
Ezra’s arms don’t release their death grip around her until Sabine throws the ship down and storms away. Zeb’s voice carries to her from a million lightyears away.
He saw her.
Her hands clutch the kalikori like it’s all that’s keeping her alive.
He saw her.
How?
Her feet are numb. She doesn’t feel the dirt underneath her. Doesn’t know how many steps she took. All she knows is the memory of wide, achingly familiar blue eyes piercing her soul and leaving a mark she can never remove.
She’s numb.
“I love you.”
“Huh. Must be the truth serum talking.”
“No, it’s me. All me.”
She’s not sure if she really said that . . . or if it was in a dream. A horrible, twisted dream that only ends in pain and endless suffering. A dream that ends too soon.
Too soon.
Lothal’s sunsets have always been beautiful. But Hera curses the glowing red horizon. Red like regret. Like pain.
Like fire.
She tightens her grip around the kalikori and tries to breathe. Her head swims and spins and veers out of control with years upon years’ worth of unbidden memories suddenly crashing to the surface, allowing no room for protest.
Red and orange meld together in a white-hot flash of pain, and the sunset only tells the story of nothingness. Of death and ended stories and loved ones taken too soon.
She’s numb. She doesn’t even feel Chopper take her hand.
.
.
Hera takes a deep, long breath and places a hand over her son’s warm, damp forehead. His striking green hair sticks to his soft skin, and his mouth turns upward in a smile in his dream. “Sleep easy,” she whispers and lands a featherlight kiss to his beautiful round cheek.
She remembers with clarity the day she first held him in her arms, tiny and angry and screaming and oh so perfect. Nearly seven years and a galaxy-wide war later, Jacen might as well be a young man.
Carefully and silently, she wanders out of his room and hears the door hiss shut behind her.
The cockpit of the Ghost is just as relaxing as ever. It holds layers of memory from every season of her life, from dozens of people, from hundreds of planets, from decades of life and adventure. It’s familiar. Soothing.
She stares out the window and those endless stars that have been her companions since childhood stare right back at her.
She’s not alone.
Without turning, she gives a long-suffering sigh. “Jacen, sweetie. You need to go back to bed.”
But the voice that replies sends a cold spike throttling down her spine.
“Jacen, huh? I like it.”
She’s up in less than a second, already reaching for her blaster.
The figure reaches a hand out in protest, and she freezes, her finger becoming intimately familiar with the trigger.
“Hera, it’s okay. It’s me.”
Her jaw remains set. “I don’t believe you.”
He’s . . . a ghost.
But it’s his voice, the same voice that has remained so deeply ingrained into her memory that she could never forget it even if she tried. The same voice that she hears in echoes and whispers throughout the Ghost. The same voice that lives through Jacen. His son.
But this . . . this isn’t him.
The soft blue glow surrounding this ethereal body flickers and waves like flames in the night.
“This is all in my head,” she tells herself. “It’s all happening in my head.” Her blaster remains trained on his iridescent chest, but her hand begins to shake.
“That’s for you to decide,” he replies, and she wants to scream. It’s too real. Too much like him.
“You’re gone,” she insists. “I’ve made my peace with that.”
“That’s good.” His sad smile is achingly familiar.
The blaster falters. “This isn’t real.”
“I won’t . . . stay. If you don’t want me to.” He stares through the window. “But I had to come see you and tell you . . .”
The blaster lowers completely. She braces herself.
“I love you.”
Hera’s breath catches in her throat. This time it’s not any dust in the air.
His eyes find hers again, and that smile carries centuries inside of it. “I’m sorry you didn’t hear it sooner.”
And with that, the figure fades and Hera is left standing, blaster dangling uselessly in her left hand, eyes trained on the piece of wall directly behind where Kanan had been.
Her throat constricts painfully, and two tears sting her cheeks. “This is all in my head . . .” she whispers desperately, trying to believe herself.
The whisper of his striking blue eyes remains just in her vision until that, too, fades away.
“It’s all happening in my head.”
And she cries.

happy one-eleven!! four words: kanera, lost a bet.
Oh, heck yes!! Here it is, I hope you like it!!!
Pairing: Kanan Jarrus/Hera Syndulla
Word Count: 3,269
Tags/Warning: rated G (for a grotesque amount of Kanera jk there's no such thing)
This was why Hera didn’t typically get involved in bets. They rarely ended well, and she’d seen some bets her friends made go in some very crazy directions.
But this one had seemed relatively safe-- her friend, Ahsoka, had been racing against her brother Anakin to see who could drink the most shots of chocolate milk in sixty seconds. Hera had bet on Ahsoka, because she usually won this kind of thing.
However, halfway through, Anakin had started stealing the shot glasses Ahsoka had been about to drink out of, which resulted in Ahsoka throwing other shot glasses at Anakin, which resulted in him drenched in chocolate milk but victorious all the same.
And now Hera owed Omega, her best friend and roommate, a dare of some kind, and she was getting an increasingly bad feeling about what it would be.
“So what does this have to do with our bet?” she asked as Omega led her towards a nearby building. Even from a distance, Hera could tell it was some kind of bar. That, combined with the fact that Omega had convinced her to get dressed up in a dark blue dress (which she almost never wore). She had refused to wear high heels, however, or let down her hair, which she almost always wore woven into two braids. That was a bridge too far for her.
“You’ll see,” Omega said, her voice way too innocent for comfort. Hera flashed an inquisitive look at their other three companions, Ahsoka, and Merrin. Ahsoka gave a shrug.
“Search me. I’m just here to see the fruits of my loss.”
Hera let out a sigh as she followed Omega and the others into the bar. This is definitely not going to end well.
The bar was dimly lit, but fairly generic-looking, with tables scattered across the room and the bar to Hera’s right. The room was about half full, and there were four people working the bar.
One was an older man who was almost bald, with a neatly trimmed white beard, who was taking a customer’s order. A young woman a little older than Hera, with short dark hair, heavy eyeliner, and tan skin was wiping down the bar, ignoring the two men bickering at the end of the bar.
Hera’s gaze paused on the two men for a moment. One had short dark hair, combed neatly, and a seriously annoyed expression. The other man, on the other hand, had longer brown hair, his skin a light brown, and wore an easy smirk.
His eyes flicked up from his work and locked on her, and Hera realized she’d been staring, Feeling a flush working it’s way across her cheeks, she looked away as the older man finished with his order and caught sight of them. “Ah, Omega!” he said, his smile kind. “A pleasure to see you as always. How are your brothers?”
“Still unaware of the fact I came here on a date, thanks to you,” Omega said, giving him a grin. “By the way, these are my friends-- Ahsoka and Hera.”
“Lovely to meet you, madams,” Okadiah said, giving them a bow. “We’ll have someone to serve you in a moment-- is there anything any of us can get you for the time being?”
“I think we’ll be fine,” Hera said.
Okadiah nodded just as there was a crash on the far end of the bar, where the two men had been. Hera looked to see the short haired man doubled over with laughter as the one she’d caught herself staring at got to his feet, rubbing his head and directing a glare at his friend.
“You alright, Kanan?” Okadiah asked, a look of mild interest on his face.
Waving a hand, the man said, “Fine-- it’s not that funny, Dark!”
Dark didn’t seem to agree, judging by how hard he was laughing, but Omega was already looping her arm around Hera’s and leading her and the others over to a table before Hera could see what happened next.
They settled at a table, and the female bartender, who turned out to be named Trilla, came over and took their orders. No sooner had she returned to the bar than Omega turned to Hera.
“Good news-- I know what I’m daring you to do.”
“Reassuring,” Hera said, letting out a sigh. “Okay, let’s get it over with. What do you want me to do?”
“You know that bartender you were staring at? The one with the ponytail?”
“Wha-- I wasn’t staring at anyone.”
Merrin shook her head. “No, Omega’s right. You were staring.”
“Unhelpful,” Hera muttered, her face heating up again.
“Regardless,” Omega said, waving a hand airily. “I’m daring you to get his number.”
Hera’s jaw dropped. “WHAT?”
Ahsoka’s eyes widened. “Oh, this is SO worth losing to Skyguy for. You want Hera to ask out the bartender she thinks is hot?”
“I don’t!”
“You do,” Omega said.
Merrin let out a thoughtful noise. “He’s okay. I like Cal better.”
“Cal is literally your boyfriend, it would be weird if you didn’t,” Ahsoka pointed out. “Hera, you absolutely HAVE to do this. I’ve literally never seen you show interest in a guy before, and I’ve known you for three years now.”
“I agree,” Merrin said, nodding.
Hera let out a groan. “I-- you’re not letting me get out of this, are you?”
“Sorry,” Omega said, patting her on the arm. “But you owe me. These are just the cards you’ve been dealt.”
Sighing, Hera muttered, “You sound like one of your brothers.”
“Not a bad thing.”
“That’s a matter of opinion.”
Clearing her throat, Ahsoka said, “Not to be the Skyguy, but stop stalling and get moving.”
“Fine.” Reluctantly, Hera got to her feet and headed over to the bar, determinedly trying not to think about the three other women watching her, or what she was about to do.
When she arrived at the bar, she realized that the other bartenders were gone, leaving only the guy with the ponytail-- Kanan?-- there. I’m not sure if this is better or worse. “Hi,” she said.
His gaze flicked to her, and his eyes widened a little at the sight of her. For a moment, he looked incapable of speech, and Hera frowned. “You okay?”
A very slight smile tugged at the corner of the man’s mouth. “Words fail me.”
This was… definitely not what Hera had been expecting. Before she could respond, the man said, “I’m Kanan.”
“I heard. Hera.” Hera offered her hand, and Kanan clasped it. His grip was firm, and something about the feeling of his skin against hers… Hera tried very hard not to turn red again.
“Nice to meet you, Hera,” he said with a smile. Releasing her hand, he leaned against the bar, propping his elbows on the surface as he faced her. “So. Be honest-- your friends dared you to come over here, did they?”
“What-- how--?” Hera stared at him, stunned.
Kanan shrugged lightly. “I have mad skills. Plus, I spotted Omega pointing over at us, and there were a lot of covert looks in our direction. Also, I recall her saying last time she was here that she had a friend she wanted to, uh, introduce me to.”
“You’re kidding,” Hera said, and Kanan shook his head. “Ugh, that is so typical-- how long has she been planning this?”
“Aren’t all of her brothers either currently or previously military?” Kanan pointed out. “Cause that’s definitely a yes.”
Letting out a long sigh, Hera muttered, “I can’t believe this.” Glancing at Kanan, she said, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to involve you in all this.”
“I’ve been involved in way worse,” Kanan said breezily. “Give me the details. I’m invested at this point.”
Grimacing, Hera said, “Long story short, I lost a bet with Omega, and she gets to dare me to do whatever she wants. And in this case, that’s… getting your number.”
“High stakes,” Kanan said with a totally straight face, and Hera rolled her eyes at him.
“Don’t mock me, alright? I don’t usually do this kind of thing.”
“It makes sense,” Kanan said, holding up his hands. “I mean, I doubt you usually need to, all things considered.”
Hera’s eyebrows shot up. “What exactly does that mean?”
She saw Kanan pause and look briefly embarrassed. “Oh. Well, I mean, you’re pretty… wow. I assume you have to fight off guys with a stick.”
A wave of heat swept over Hera, and she glanced down, feeling an absurd smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. “Pretty wow, huh?”
“Now who’s mocking?” Kanan grumbled, a grin crossing his face nonetheless. “I’m usually a lot smoother than this, you know.”
Rolling her eyes, Hera said, “Oh, I’m sure. But-- no, actually. I don’t date a lot. From what I’ve heard, my strong personality and ability to actually do things for myself tends to scare some men off.”
“Only idiots,” Kanan said, shooting her a grin that shouldn’t have made Hera’s heart skip a beat. But here they were, and she couldn’t help but notice how little space was between them. He was close enough that she could clearly see the bright teal of his eyes as they caught hers for a long moment.
“I’ve got an idea,” he told her, and moved back and away from her. Hera felt a moment of unreasonable disappointment, and hastily brushed it away. Don’t be stupid, Hera. Turning her attention back to Kanan, she saw him grab a pen and a paper coaster and scribble something on the back of it. “Here’s my number-- but I propose a bet.”
“I’ve already been tricked into one bet,” Hera pointed out, folding her arms. “Why on earth would I agree to this one?”
“Because I’ll give you my number either way,” Kanan said, sliding her the coaster. “Rules are simple. We stay here and talk for as long as possible. Whoever’s friends get curious and come to nose into our business first, wins. If you win, you obviously get my number, and I’ll pay for your whole group’s drinks and meals.”
“And if you win?” Hera asked, intrigued despite herself.
“I get to take you out to dinner,” Kanan said, a satisfied grin stretching across his face. “Somewhere a lot nicer than here, I promise you. Deal?”
Hera hesitated. Last time she'd gotten involved in a bet, it had gone badly. Getting involved in another one seemed really stupid.
But as her father liked to say, no risk, no reward. Besides, the worst that could happen would be her ending up on a date with Kanan. And would that be the worst thing in the world?
Brushing off the thought, Hera gave Kanan a nod. “Deal.”
“Excellent,” Kanan said. “Okay, in order to do this-- you might have to tell me about yourself.”
“Very funny,” Hera said, lifting an eyebrow at her. “But you've got a point. Where do you want to start?”
Kanan frowned, knitting his eyebrows thoughtfully. “Let's see. Favorite color?”
“I like blue,,” Hera said.
Nodding, Kanan said, “I can see why. It’s a good color for you.”
“Are you going to spend this whole time flirting?” Hera asked, narrowing her arms at him.
“Maybe,” Kanan said, a grin pulling at the corner of his lips-- and why was Hera looking at his lips?
Hastily redirecting her attention, she said, “How about you?”
“Green. Which reminds me, I like your hair.” He gestured to her braids, his fingers brushing one of them. “What made you decide to dye them?”
Flicking one of her deep green braids over her shoulder, Hera said, “It’s… for my mom. I lost her when I was thirteen, and she actually did something very similar with her hair. After a while, it just kind of stuck. My brother did the same thing-- it’s kind of our thing at this point.”
“I’m sorry about your mom.” Kanan’s deep voice was unusually serious, and Hera glanced up to meet his eyes again. They held a sort of raw conviction, a sadness that almost made Hera think he knew what she was feeling. He gently touched her hand, but pulled back again a few seconds later, giving her space.
“Thanks,” she said, her voice irritatingly shaky. Clearing her throat, she said, “Um, let’s see. What else?”
“I’ve got a good one-- what’s your dream job?” Kanan asked.
“Well, I’m going to school to be a mechanic,” Hera replied. “But ever since I was a little girl, I’ve liked the idea of being a pilot.”
“Like for a commercial airline or something?”
Shaking her head adamantely, Hera said, “Definitely not. No, just… being able to fly. It appeals to me, the idea of being up there. Anyway, I’m working on getting my pilot’s license. If I’ll be able to do anything with it is another story entirely.”
“I get the feeling you’ll figure something out,” Kanan said with stunning certainty. “You’ve got this general air of confidence, like you can handle anything. I admire it.”
“Hmm. I appreciate the support. Well, how about you? Dream job?”
“I’ve never really had one,” Kanan said, grimacing. “Let’s just say that my future hasn’t ever been something that’s been set in stone. I don’t really have your confidence, shall we say.”
“I haven’t always been confident,” Hera said, making a face. “I guess you’ve just got to find what you’re passionate about and figure out how to make a living off of it.”
“I don’t know how well that’ll go in my case,” Kanan said wryly. “But it’s not a bad idea. Next question?”
Accepting the change in subject, Hera said, “Well, I don’t even know your last name. Shall we start there?”
“Easily fixed-- Jarrus,” Kanan said, his smile returning. “You?”
“Syndulla.”
Hera regretted answering the minute Kanan’s eyebrows shot up. “Syndulla? As in the prosecutor?”
Letting out a sigh, Hera said, “Yep. Consider that another nail in my social life coffin.”
“Well, you do have a couple friends over there,” Kanan pointed out.
“Yeah, well, most people I meet are pretty convinced that I’m as rich and stuck up as they’re convinced my dad is. Omega and I grew up together, and she’d introduced me to Merrin. Ahsoka is… technically in the police academy, so she wasn’t very intimidated by my dad.” Hera rubbed a hand over her forehead. “And my dating life is… frustrating. I’m a little particular as it is, though--” she stopped abruptly, grimacing. “I’m sorry. I’m not trying to dump all of this on you at all, it’s just--”
“It sounds to me like you need to talk about it,” Kanan said, his voice matter of fact. “And I’m happy to listen. I’ve been the object of many a drunken ramble-- and trust me, I’d rather listen to you.”
A smile tugged at the corner of Hera’s mouth. “Thanks. I think.”
“No problem. And for the record, the right people will stay friends with you regardless of who your family is,” Kanan told her. “I’ve been in a pretty similar situation, so I know what I’m talking about.”
Frowning, Hera said, “How so?”
Kanan hesitated, his expression clearly torn. “Uh. Do you know Mace Windu?”
“The deputy commissioner of the police department?” Hera said incredulously. “Yeah, my father has dinner with him and his daughter sometimes-- wait.” She stopped and squinted at Kanan. “Are you--?”
“His grandson,” Kanan said, offering what could be either a smile or a grimace. “Surprise. I don’t really talk about it a lot, but--” he shrugged. “We’ve all got family that’s not super easy to deal with.”
“Hmm.” Hera nodded thoughtfully. “Who would have thought our families would actually be so… entwined, I guess?”
A real smile started on Kanan’s face. “One could even call it fate.”
“Very smooth,” Hera said, and he laughed.
“Oh, just let me have this one.”
“You’ll have to do better than that,” Hera told him.
Leaning forward, Kanan locked eyes with her, their faces inches apart. Hera felt her breath catch as he said quietly, “Challenge accepted.”
Before Hera could respond, she heard a voice from behind them. “Hey, Hera?”
Kanan pulled back smoothly as Hera turned to see Ahsoka, whose expression was calm and blank, with a mischievous sparkle in her eyes. “Are you busy? I can come back later--”
“You’re fine,” Kanan cut in lightly. “Although, Miss Syndulla, I believe this belongs to you.”
Hera glanced back at him to see him holding out the coaster with his number scribbled on it-- and she remembered the bet. Right. And I won. So why didn’t she feel excited?
“I’ll see you back at the table, Hera,” Ahsoka said quietly, turning and heading back to where their friends were waiting.
Taking the coaster from Kanan, Hera said, “Thank you. For-- all of this, really.”
“Not a problem,” Kanan said, but Hera could read the slight disappointment in his eyes. And she was startled to realize she felt the same way. It wasn’t every day she met a guy she might be interested in, let alone one who wasn’t intimidated by her and her father. “Consider your tab covered.”
“Actually,” Hera said as he started to move away, “I’ve changed my mind.”
Surprise flashed across Kanan’s face. “Uh, what?”
“For my end of the bet. I’m changing the deal.”
“Okay,” Kanan said, folding his arms as a slow smile started to grow across his face. “What exactly did you have in mind? Obviously I won’t accept just anything, since you’re changing the deal after the bet is over.”
“Coffee,” Hera said calmly. “Tomorrow morning, you and me. I’m buying. There’s a place two blocks south of here that sells the best bear claws. It’s called, unfortunately, Bake It Til You Make It.”
“That’s… kind of the best name I’ve ever heard,” Kanan said.
“The guy who owns it thinks he’s hilarious. But he’s a good baker.” Holding Kanan’s gaze, Hera lifted an eyebrow. “What do you say?”
“Yes,” Kanan said, giving her a crooked grin. “I’d love to.”
“Good.” Hera sent him a smile that she knew was different from her usual one. But there was something about this guy that was different. Maybe it was his easy humor or the seriousness and respect that was just underneath, or maybe even the fact that he was seriously good looking.
It could also be the way he was looking at her right now-- soft and kind, with a hint of curiosity in his eyes. It took Hera a moment to regain her ability to speak. “What?”
“Why’d you change your mind about the bet?”
Hera pursed her lips thoughtfully. “I guess I don’t want to miss out on what could turn out to be something… good. If you know what I mean.”
“I definitely do,” Kanan said, his deep voice holding something that sent a shiver up Hera’s spine. “See you at eight-thirty, in that case?”
“I’ll meet you there,” Hera said. Shooting him a grin, she added, “And don’t be late.”
“Well, you have my number if I am.”
“Very true,” Hera agreed. She held his gaze for another second, feeling her heart speed up as he looked back. Then she got to her feet and headed over to the table where her friends were waiting, grinning like a pack of hyenas.
But. She had a really good feeling about tomorrow all of a sudden. And a fluttery feeling in her stomach that hadn’t been there in a long time. Maybe it was a good thing I lost that bet after all, Hera mused.

I know you're probably tired of writing but I LOVE your Rexsoka!!! Would it be possible to see a Rebels Rexsoka where Ahsoka gets injured bad and Rex has to sit by helplessly as she's taken care of by medical staff... and maybe with the Ghost crew seeing how it affects him... (aka they figure out how close the two are). Also, maybe a follow up of Ahsoka frustrated with her injury because she's not used to needing help. Was thinking leg injury. Love seeing vulnerable Ahsoka. Thanks!
I’m sorry it took me so long to get to this ask, but thank you so much for submitting it! Rexsoka will always be my favorite TCW ship, and I love writing for it! I hope you enjoy.
“We’re coming in hot!” Hera shouted from the cockpit.
“Ezra, get the door!” Kanan said, moving to grip Ahsoka under her shoulders. “Zeb, you get her legs.”
The Ghost’s breaking thrusters screamed in protest as Hera pulled her in for a rushed landing. The landing gear struck the landing pad of Chopper Base with a heavy thunk and Ezra dashed for the door and punched it open. He ran down the gangplank and Kanan and Zeb carried an unconscious Ahsoka out of the ship after him.
The first person Ezra saw was Rex, puttering around by the generator. “Rex! Get the med unit ready! Ahsoka’s been injured!”
Rex looked up from the generator in confusion, then his eyes fell on Ahsoka’s limp form in Kanan and Zeb’s care. The bacta pad tied around her waist was keeping her alive, but it couldn’t block the trail of red liquid oozing from her torso.
Rex’s face went white as his beard. “What happened?”
“No time,” huffed Ezra. “Get the med unit!”
Rex’s eyes glazed over, and Ezra wondered if now would be the moment Rex’s unstoppable soldier persona decided to fail. Then the former clone captain snapped to attention, dropped the tools he’d been carrying to the ground, and ran full-tilt towards the med bunker near the back of the base.
Ezra helped hold Ahsoka steady while Kanan and Zeb carried her to the med bunker. They set Ahsoka gingerly down on the med unit and Rex set to work cleaning, cauterizing, and redressing her wound. Kanan and Zeb left to update Hera, and Ezra made himself useful however he could, grabbing bacta, bandages, the cauterizer—whatever Rex needed.
“What happened?” Rex asked again as he carefully peeled off Ahsoka’s ruined bandages. “I thought this was supposed to be a low-security munitions factory.”
“It was, but something went wrong with the charges we set. The explosion radius was bigger than we thought, and a piece of shrapnel got Ahsoka.”
Rex’s lips pulled together and his brows furrowed, but he didn’t look away from his work. “Got it.”
The rest of the crew of the Ghost hovered about just outside the med bunker, but the space was cramped and more hands wouldn’t help. Rex was the most experienced with emergency medicine of their little team, and Ezra thanked his stars that he’d been the first to respond to his cry for help on Chopper Base.
Rex asked for the handheld cauterizing laser, and Ezra placed it in his hand.
“I need you to keep her still, alright kid?” Rex said. “This next part might be rough.”
Ezra put his hands on Ahsoka’s shoulders in preparation, but worried he wouldn’t be able to do much if she jolted. She was strong, both physically and in the Force. That’s when it occurred to him that he wasn’t too shabby with the Force either,
Ezra kept his hands on Ahsoka’s shoulders, but instead of pressing down he closed his eyes and let his consciousness sink into hers, like he did when negotiating with a tooka or calming a loth wolf. He communicated peace and comfort, as well as a willingness to bear some of her pain.
Rex turned the cauterizer on and Ahsoka’s muscles seized up, her jaw clenching and her hands balling into tight fists. Peace, comfort, security, Ezra sent to her, and some of her pain flowed into him. Together, they bore the harsh cleansing burn of the laser, and Ahsoka managed to keep still.
Rex put the laser away and held his hand out to Ezra again. “Bacta.”
Ezra let go of Ahsoka’s shoulders. She was limp again, likely passed out from the pain. He found Rex the tub of topical bacta gel and handed it to him. Rex took it and spread some of the gloopy gel onto his fingers then, with infinite care, slowly spread it across the burned surface of Ahsoka’s wound. His touch glided over the angry wound like it was the most delicate, beautiful flower in the galaxy, like she might fade away if he was too rough.
The charred wound slowly began knitting together, the burnt brown fading to a crusted tan. The tension in Ahsoka’s unconscious features faded, and to Ezra it seemed she shifted from unconsciousness to sleep. Rex leaned back against the wall of the bunker and sighed, deep lines of stress aging his already-worn features.
“We’re past the dangerous part, now,” Rex said. “You should tell the others.”
Ezra nodded and left to find the rest of the Ghost crew. Hera beamed with pleasure and Kanan let out a sigh and a small smile. Sabine acted like she’d never been terribly worried in the first place, but Ezra knew how guilty she’d felt about her explosion not going according to plan. Zeb whooped in triumph and Chopper was, well… Chopper. Everyone’s relief was clear, but underlying it lurked an enduring anxiety. These past few months it had become too easy to think of their work as fun and exciting rather than dangerous and potentially deadly.
It took Ezra some time to track everyone down, so by the time he finished his task he decided to go back and check if Rex needed anything else. The door to the med bunker was open when he arrived, and through the opening he could see Rex sitting at Ahsoka’s side, his gaze warm and tender. Ezra cleared his throat and knocked at the side of the door.
Rex looked up. “Oh, Ezra. Care to help me clean up?”
“Sure.”
Ezra stepped inside and set about throwing away used bandages, sterilizing tools, and putting things back where they belong alongside Rex. They were just about finished when a soft moan sounded from the med unit.
Ahsoka stirred on the stretcher, and Rex looked up at her with worried, eager eyes. She looked back at him blearily and tried to sit up.
“...Rex?”
Rex gently pressed her back down. “You’ve been injured, little’un. Try not to move.”
“I remember the blast,” she croaked. “How bad is it?”
Rex frowned. “Bad enough.”
“You were bleeding like crazy on the Ghost,” Ezra said, “but luckily we got you back here in time.”
“Then… I’m going to be alright?” she asked, voice small and uncertain for the first time Ezra had ever heard.
“Yes, you should be. Probably,” Rex said, his frown growing. “The bleeding has stopped, and none of your internal organs were injured too badly. But this was much closer than it should have been.”
Her vulnerability disappeared, and she attempted a weak smile. “How close should it have been?”
“It’s not funny,” Rex said. His eyes dodged hers and his fingers curled tightly over the “501st” scratched into the vambrace he always wore.
Ahsoka’s expression softened, and she reached out to him, setting her hand on his. He looked up at her and the softness in his eyes brought a heat to Ezra’s neck.
Rex reached his other hand to Ahsoka’s cheek, his hands smearing the leftover bacta gel against her white markings. She didn’t seem to mind.
“I already lost you once, I’ll be damned if I lose you again,” he said.
“Rex, you know the risks.”
Rex’s eyes fell to his lap, and she squeezed his hand tight.
“But I promise I’ll always do everything I can to come back,” she said, her voice smoky and soothing like Ezra sometimes liked to imagine Sabine’s, in his weaker moments.
Rex looked back up at her, his eyes dark and intense. The small room was suddenly stifling, and Ezra’s face was on fire. He was going to die. Maybe he was already dead. He coughed loudly, and Rex and Ahsoka turned to him as if surprised by his existence.
“I, uh, I guess I’ll leave you two alone, then,” Ezra said, backing slowly out of the room. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were together. I mean, Kanan explained to me about the age thing, but-”
Ahsoka dropped Rex’s hand and Rex scooted away from her, his eyes going wide.
“W-we’re not together,” he stammered.
Ahsoka’s lekku flushed a deep blue. “Yeah, just old friends. Wartime buddies.”
“Oh, ok,” Ezra said, still backing away. “Well, um, I think Hera needs me for something.”
Ahsoka opened her mouth to say something, but Ezra was out the door before she had a chance to vocalize it. The door whirred shut behind him, and he leaned back against the durasteel, his skin hot against the cool metal. Well, that was mortifying.
“Kids have such… vivid imaginations.” Ahsoka’s voice sounded from the other side of the door, and Ezra froze.
Rex chuckled, though it rang weak in Ezra’s ears. “Yeah. Crazy, to think that… You know. You and me? Crazy.”
Ezra leaned closer to the door, letting the sound from the other side seep through the crack between the panels. Being in the same room as a couple melting all over each other was a fate worse than death, but eavesdropping? Eavesdropping was one of his favorite pastimes.
“Rex, what if what Ezra said… It might be nice…”
Ezra pressed his ear harder against the cold metal.
Rex’s voice cracked. “Ahsoka-”
A firm hand yanked Ezra away from the door by his ear.
“Ow!” Green headtails bobbed in his peripheral vision. “Hera! What was that for?”
“I’m pretty sure that conversation was none of your business,” Hera said, marching him further away from the bunker.
“I just wanted to know what their deal is,” Ezra said. “Don’t you?”
Hera crossed her arms and heaved a sigh. “Sure, but that’s their business. They’ll figure it out when they’re ready. Relationships… They’re complicated. Especially when Jedi are involved.”
Her focus shifted to some distant point beyond Ezra, and Ezra bit his lip, thinking of Kanan.
“Alright, I get it,” he said. “But I hope they figure things out. They deserve to be happy.”
“Yeah,” Hera said, her attention returning to him. “Me too.”

Reckless (Kanan Jarrus x reader)
Prompt: 4. "As long as I'm alive, I will do everything I can to protect you" and 13. "Seeing you this riled up really makes me want to kiss you"
Words: 750
Tumblr media
"What were you thinking!?" Told you Kanan as soon as The Ghost entered the security of the hyperspace.
It was supposed to be an easy mission: get in, steal the clearance codes and get out without being detected, nothing out of the ordinary. But as always something got wrong and it ended up in a rain of blaster shots and a lot of white plastoid uniforms.
The team bravely fought against the imperial forces, hurrying to get to the ship, but the closer you got to the Ghost the more stormtroopers there were.
Karabast!
You were trapped between the hangar where Hera was waiting to pick you up and the troopers, options were running low and imperial reinforcements were getting closer by any second past. Looking everywhere for some kind of advantage or exit, anything that might give the Spectres enough time to escape, your eyes found the answer to your problem: the blast door of the hangar.
Without hesitation you rushed to the door's control panel. Kanan screamed you to wait but you didn't hear him with the sound of the blasters.
You were putting yourself in danger by trying such risky plan, but it was worthy if that meant saving your family.
Dodging shots and taking down a soldier from time to time, you finally made it to the control panel and with the push of a button, the big blast door closed, creating a temporary wall between you and the stormtroopers.
Satisfied with your work you started to walk towards the ship and your friends who were fighting the remaining soldiers. But just when you thought everything was going to be fine, you heard the sound of a blaster pointing at your back followed by the order 'not to move' and if it hadn't been for Kanan, you'd be dead. If he hasn't rushed to your rescue, protecting you from that buckethead who held you hostage, swinging his lightsaber,  right now, you wouldn't be here listening to his lecture of why you disobeyed his orders.
"Do you even know how dangerous it was for you to go alone?" he continued.
"I had it all under control, Kanan" you assured him.
"You were being reckless!" he barked "your risky plan could have compromised the mission"
"Ezra and Sabine do riskier things all the time, and still I'm the one in trouble?" you complained.
Kanan continued to express how dangerous your actions had been, and instead of paying attention to his lecture you couldn't help yourself to get lost in his eyes.
You knew he was mad and you probably should have been more serious about it, but Maker, he looked so good all angry. It was something in the way his expressions seemed so tough yet his teal blue eyes showed pure concern and even some fear. Kanan Jarrus really cared about you, you could see it in his eyes. You chuckled at your own thoughts.
"Why are you laughing?" Kanan's voice dragged you out of your mind.
"I'm sorry, it's just... seeing you this riled up really makes me want to kiss you" you confessed as a slight blush appeared on your face.
"This isn't funny, (y/n)" he added " you could have died" he went serious for a moment looking at you right in the eyes "I don’t want to lose you."
There was a pause.
Through the years Kanan had lost too much, too much to risk losing you too. He was indeed angry, but he also worried, afraid anything would happen to you.
"I don't think I could live without you" the Jedi spoke again, stepping closer to you and carefully placing his hands on your forearms.
"Kanan, love, you are not going to lose me" you assured him, imitating his action.
The Force around you was soft, calm and sincere, he could feel it, and having you close always put at ease his troubled mind. Somehow you had rooted to his heart and if he were to lose you, he'd lose his whole world and light too. Kanan took a decision, he would never let anything happen to you.
"I know, that's why as long as I'm alive, I will do everything I can to protect you" he said before bringing you to his chest, holding you in a soft and warm hug. "I promise"

Rebels Rewatch (1.3-1.5)
Okay, but by episode three we’re already dealing with a supposed genocide of the Lasat? And who said this show was too kiddy?
Bail. Yes, he’s working for the the Rebellion on the sly but I wonder...is this how Obi-wan learned about Ezra or was Obes just so in tune with the Force that he knew anyway? Both are possible, I suppose.
And then in a supposed “fun” episode dealing with meiloorun, we also see an example of violent government eminent domain. Right, Rebels is soft compared to TCW. Not really.
Ah, that throwaway line about the TIEs not having shields, somewhere in the galaxy Mitth'raw'nuruodo has entered the chat.
Did Ezra seriously crotch shot a stormtrooper with a meiloorun?
Filoni apparently has a thing for fruit escapades if we all remember the infamous Jogan fruit episode from TCW where Artoo fucked off to the spa and somehow an evil plan was foiled through grocery shopping.
I know Zeb had a throwaway line about “no wonder the old religion died” in reference to the Jedi but it’s a fascinating throwaway line because that’s how so many people saw the Jedi - as a strange and powerful religion (cult) that the government kept in service (servitude).
“Luminara” was being held on Stygeon Prime isn’t that where Sidious kept Maul after “The Lawless”?
I’m sorry, mating call of the space bats? Hahahhahhahahaha. Filoni also has a thing for space-winged creatures, which I am totally okay with, as I also enjoy space-winged creatures.
So Depa taught Kanan Form III aka Soresu. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
But wait, how did the Empire do that whole...thing with Luminara’s essence?
A thought about the helicopter sabers. Yes, they’re kind of dumb, but seeing the Inquisitor use it, it reminded me a little bit of Grievous’s move rotating/spinning all his sabers into the ground and I wonder if that was kind of the point, or at least the inspiration, if that was what Vader (we can safely assume) was going for there. (Which would be funny, seeing as Grievous and Anakin didn’t meet until RotS but I would assume Anakin would have seen holos of Grievous in action.)
Poor Kanan. He wants to teach Ezra but let’s also remember his own training stopped abruptly when he was 14 when the entire Jedi Order was killed. It’s interesting comparing him and Ezra - one person who grew up in the Temple with that and one who didn’t, and how those attitudes are both similar and different and how they diverge from Jedi such as Obi-wan who spent their entire life in service to the Order.
Ezra: “I don’t want the best teacher, I want you.”
AWWWWWWWWW
But seriously, Ezra and...Luminara??? I don’t see it. Like, at all. :D

The Mandalorian, Chap. 13 - “The Jedi”
Corralling my thoughts with bullet points under the cut. Not very positive.
Her lekku just aren’t the right fucking length. That is not optional. This show’s budget is $15M/episode and they couldn’t get the lekku to look right? WTF.
One of my questions after the Rebels finale was whether Ahsoka still carried lightsabers. Now my question is…is she a Jedi (again)?
TCW S7 made me think that she would have gone back, in a way that was actually somewhat difficult to square with her insisting constantly in Rebels that she wasn’t a Jedi.
Doth the lady protest too much? The Bendu also called her a “former Jedi Knight” in an unfilmed scene, so.
It’s completely impossible to tell anything from this episode of course because the show is maniacal about not telling anyone anything, but there were a lot of opportunities for Ahsoka to deny being a Jedi and she didn’t take any of them.
Her being a Jedi (again) after her vision quest or whatever in the Sith temple on Malachor would actually fit with the ending of TROS, which I do my best to ignore, but that one thing (which is literally heretical but that’s another story) did happen and it would make sense.
I had assumed that the end scene of Rebels was ROTJ +0-4, but now I think that this episode actually takes place before it?
I guess the question is whether Ezra and Thrawn are still stuck together wherever. We have no information about that, but if they are and Ahsoka is looking for Thrawn, well, there you go.
I do think it makes some sense for Ahsoka to be sensitive to Force-wielders having emotional ties, but her lines about attachment contradict everything else we’ve seen in previous canon about her! Particularly Rebels, where Kanan and Ezra are acknowledged as Jedi by her and they obviously have attachments. Make it make fucking sense.
If it was just a way to continue the Mandalorian’s endless fetch quests, well, just fucking say “sorry I can’t train him, I’m on my own quest” or whatever.
Putting the kid up on a plinth in a random ruined temple and seeing whatever Force-wielder shows up seems like a bad idea! But that’s just me.
It also seems like the Mandalorian should have explicitly said, “Hey this child has been an Imperial test subject,” even if he hasn’t put together that the Imperial remnants are trying to create Force-wielders by transfusing midichlorians into them. That is something that it seems like Ahsoka would want to know!
I said when this show started that it would be funny if they were rewriting the Thrawn trilogy in reverse, and…maybe my joke was on the money??
Star Wars stop hiring transphobes
I don’t think Filoni is a terrible director, and it’s obvious that Lucasfilm is going to continue letting him do whatever, regardless of people’s complaints about giving other creatives a chance. But I do think you can tell his preference for static images coming out of animation in this episode in particular.
Does Ahsoka know Luke Skywalker is alive? Why had Cara Dune never heard of him? Bedlamsbard has remarked that this show seems like it takes place in an AU where Luke and Leia never existed and honestly you can’t disprove that contention using the show itself!
Why not just send Grogu to Luke Skywalker, weird CGI be damned. Star Trek cast a young Spock recently, it can be done.
Why in god’s name did they not get Ashley to at least dub her voice. Or just have Ashley perform her!
If it was because of fight training, I have to say…those fight scenes weren’t great. I get that reverse wielding is very difficult, but those fight scenes were bad. Ahsoka defeated Darth Maul without a scratch on her, twice, and I’m supposed to believe a rando with a staff disarmed her? Please.
Dear Dave Filoni, having Asian main characters in other media does not mean you get a pass on the racial politics of cowed Asian villagers menaced by white people with guns.
I SAW THE PHANTOM MENACE TEN TIMES IN THE THEATER AND I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS YADDLE ERASURE.

Top 6 Underrated Comedy Scenes in IPK
Version: Arnav Singh Raizada & Situational Comedy
After a certain Khushi Kumari Gupta entered ASR’s life, let’s say she’s given him many moments to laugh. But sometimes, fate wants to laugh at his expense too. Here are six underrated moments in IPK where life did not give Arnav any lemons to make lemonade.
Tumblr media
1. Banwari, The Dhobi (S3, E10)
The one day Arnav decides to do something right, the entire universe conspires to make everything go wrong. His day pretty much goes like this; Mission “Khushi, I am Sorry” Obstacle #1: Arnav can’t say sorry. Everyone can, but no one helps. Because Arnav never asks for help.
Solution - Just find Khushi. Obstacle #2: Ask Lavanya. Feign ignorance... feign ignorance... doesn’t Lavanya know who I’m talking about? Feign ignorance... she’s taken a vacation WHAT *fuck*.
Solution - Call Khushi
Obstacle #3: Can’t English when Khushi’s on the phone. Also, cuts the call himself, has the Rabba Ve wind, and facepalms himself.  But the moment of this hilarious day that takes the cake is when Arnav instructs JP on whoever is by the door, to send that person to his room.  Arnav (ready with the intense look): I need to speak to you
Someone with a voice that does not give him the Rabba Ve : Yes sir, tell me, anyways I’m used to the [scolding] Arnav (turns dramatically, intensity dead): WHO ARE YOU?
Not Khushi: Banwari, aapka dhobi.  *sigh* We’re with you Arnav bitwa, we’re with you. Although you shouldn’t have yelled at Banwari ji. Banwari kinda predicted though.
Tumblr media
2. Oh Aman! (S3, E34)
Before Khushi, khushingly, threw the mitti (soil) all over herself which led to the gentle-hot-sexy-eye-blow-dust-shy Rabba Ve; the mitti was in her hands, in his pot, and all the way from Arnav’s room to the living room.
And here was Aman, being Aman, taking every meticulous note of what his sir was saying.
“Okay Aman, I was saying that our delegates are arriving tomorrow at Banglore. Prepare your team and give them-” Arnav notices the soil on the floor “-Mitti?”
“Foreign delegates ko mitti dena hai, sir?” We should give the foreign delegates soil, sir?
No Aman bitwa!
“Oh Shut up Aman!”
This moment is outright hilarious and one can literally see Aman blurting out the first thought in his head - and it’s too late - before he gets yelled at by Arnav.
Poor Aman though;
ASR: *asks for confirmation by asking Aman to repeat*
Aman: *repeats*
ASR: *says something stupid*
Aman: *repeats?*
ASR: Oh shut up *I was commenting on something you have no idea and I expect you to understand my stupidity as you are more worthy than me in several scenarios and I don’t think you are human*
Tumblr media
3. The Newly Shadi Shuda Arnav Singh Raizada (S6, E31)
When Arnav Singh Raizada got hitched (more like forcing a woman to elope with him), one expected many hearts to be broken. After all, the kunwara krorepati - bachelor billionaire - was off the market! But the one heart that I never expected to be broken by Arnav’ marital status, was of Shukla ji’s! Alternating between an Arnav who had no idea that man before him existed, and the canteen waala who believes he is an intrinsic part of Arnav’s life - it is one of the funniest scenes in the show. Shukla: Sir, I was just gone for a day and-
ASR: Who the hell are you?
Shukla: Sir I’m Shukla, the canteen waala *cue ugly crying* I AM THE ONE who brings your daily morning tea, without sugar, and your daily evening coffee, without sugar, to you.
ASR: *invoking Kanan Biswa from MPKDH Pretentious Movie Review* Toh problem kya hai?
Shukla: Sir that’s exactly what I’m asking, if there was an issue with *sobs*
ASR: Come to the point
Shukla: Nobody wants the canteen food, they’ve all found a new lunch service *sobbing continues* This provides me the bread and butter for my home and YOU destroyed-
ASR: What the! What did I do?
Shukla: YOU. GOT. MARRIED
ASR: I got married, how is that a problem to you?
Shukla: *sobs and leaves*
ASR: Sabki problem kya hai yaar! it’s awesome seeing ASR say yaar Crazy people.
*If this scene does not make you laugh, I will be extremely judgmental of you*
Also whoever played Shukla ji, your crying was epic.
Tumblr media
4. Presenting Lakshmi Nagar, by Manorama Raizada (S7, E1)
There’s one thing about going to your in-laws house, there’s another thing of somebody frightening you to no end about it.
Manorama and Arnav have the strangest friendship - they are both well aware of the other’s faults and are not hesitant to use those faults - but somehow believe the first thing that is out of their mouths.
This scene might have not been funny, if Arnav was not straight up terrified and believing everything Mami ji said (until she would say something completely obnoxious). One can see that Arnav literally hangs on every word Mami says *lol*
Arnav: *can handle a fashion empire, a sleazy brother-in-law and millions of rupees*
Mami: *describes food floating in oil at his in-laws house*
Arnav: *nearly shits his pants*
This scene truly works wonders because of the fantastic acting and chemistry between Barun Sobti and Utkarsha Naik.
Tumblr media
5. Khushi’s Dream Man, Not Arnav Singh Raizada (S7, E3)
Arnav knew Khushi liked Salman, enough to put a poster in his room to annoy the hell out of him. But here he sees that she loves Salman. Honestly dreams about marrying him - in a cheaply cut out poster of him and her in a palanquin.
And even though he has been in her room several times before, this is the first team he notices the little things about her.
It is cute and hilarious because in one second Arnav has five immediate opinions about her.
Arnav: I have to see Salman here, too? That too six times?
Arnav: Certified crazy… wait… what’s that
Arnav: A wedding palanquin with Khushi and… what… Salman?! WHAT THE?
Arnav: SHE ACTUALLY DREAMS OF MARRYING HIM?
Arnav: She’s crazy, childish but adorable, loveable and oh my fuck this little cutie patootie asdfghjk ahh I need to stahp;
The mental ‘what the’ was loud enough to shatter the walls of Gupta house.
Also, Barun, you are a treasure.
Tumblr media
6. Never Underestimate the Power of a Common Belan (& Bua ji) (S8 E9)
I cannot begin with what I love about this specific episode. It is AMAZING to see Arnav get roasted (sorry bitwa), especially by his in-laws for a very valid reason.
He forgot his wife’s birthday. And he realised that. While yelling at her. In her home. In front of her family *slow claps*.
The hilarious series of moments begin from Arnav stating he doesn’t want to eat, and Bua ji (oh I love her in these episodes) just comes in front of him - stares at him - and challenges him to leave the house without eating. #ToughLove #BuajiRoxx (Abha ji, you are amazing)
The day really isn’t cut out for Arnav. It isn’t.
How Not To Celebrate Your Wife’s Birthday  - Arnav Singh Raizada
On the night before her birthday, call her the biggest mistake of your life (don’t worry, if she wants to leave the house have something in handy to blackmail her with to stay back).
On the day of her birthday, yell at her, preferably in her house, where her family is present.
Oh, you still don’t know it’s her birthday.
Try to say h-hha...happ...ha
Don’t refuse lunch. Bua ji has a powerful belan.
Tell your wife hh..hh-hhaaa-- happy singh?
Notice what she’s missing, and buy the replacement (especially one that does not suit her style nor necessities)
Don’t attempt to pacify the family.
Eat 584219 puris, no questions asked.
Then look at your wife, ask for…. water.
Continue eating the puris.
DON’T ATTEMPT TO FLIRT IF YOU CAN’T GO BEYOND HA--HA--
Get served more puris. Win the family’s heart, oh fuck, not your wife’s though.
Give her the gift, selected and signed by your assistant. Oh, and don’t forget to say ha-ha---handsfree?
Act surprised when; she doesn’t believe the gift is yours, uses the bag what several middle class people use bags for, gets a heart attack on the price.
Oh don’t mention the price of the gift.
Forcibly feed cake, cut the cake, and attempt to flirt when she’s absolutely not in the mood.
Kiss her and give her the one meaningful gift, when she’s asleep.
Realise that you’ve fucked up and you’ll fuck up further. It’s a good thing you married her (oh shit and reminded her about the contract) and your cousin is her friend who can help you for the rest of your life.
With sincere What Thes, ASR.
Penned by NK. So that’s it for today - hope you all had a fun time reading this! And a big hug to all those who inspired me (you know who you are).
A big thank you to the scriptwriters and creatives for coming with these wonderful moments - comedy is one of the most difficult things to write!

Shared Understanding
Part 2 of this story that I am working on over in AO3 that I thought I’d post here just for funnies. More interactions with the Mantis crew also some Kanan and Ezra fluff along with it because I can’t help myself, I love their relationship.
--------------
The Mantis, Kanan found out, meant as much to Greez as The Ghost mean as much to Hera. As he listened to Cal's captain gush over his ship, he thought that he and Hera would have gotten along in terms of ship admiration. BD-1 stuck to Ezra like glue, which Cere found amusing, commenting on the fact that Ezra probably remained the droid of Cal when he was younger. To which Kanan replied that Ezra has always had this weird ability to connect with things, animals more so but Kanan has seen the kid befriend a droid or two before if only for a brief moment. The part of him, the one that was more than just a Master saw Ezra in such a brighter light, talked about the kid proudly, like any guardian would.
That's when Cere mention that Cal had Force Echo, an ability Kanan knew about but never saw a Jedi do personally because of how rare it is. To be able to see the echoes of a person's past, no matter how many years has gone by. Master Billaba even mentioned how rare it was, much like Force Slow was and Force Healing.
When he stated as such, Cal, who had been sitting by Merrin, a Nightsister who Kanan has been cautious about since they arrived here, stood up and walked towards him and pointed to Kanan’s lightsaber still attached to his hip, "This ability allows me to hear and feel emotions of others, not just Jedi. When I picked up you're lightsaber to hand to you, and I fell? That was me seeing your past, your emotions." Cal paused for a moment before continuing, "I'm so sorry for all you've gone through. Both before and after your Master died. You and I really are alike."
Kanan smiled at Cal, nodding, "Thank you, and you have my condolences as well, loosing your Master couldn't have been easy either." Then a hum buzzed in his ears, a silent siren. It was his bond with Ezra, the kid was finally waking up after hours of being unconscious for hours. Without a moment's hesitation, Kanan rushed to his side, knowing the kid had a tendency to act irrationally whenever he woke up in a new place he did not recognize. And he had been correct, for the moment Ezra opened his eyes, he ceased up, and went stiff as a board. Kanan put a hand on his shoulder, "Easy, kiddo. We're with friends."
Blinking, still relatively disoriented, Ezra moved towards Kanan out of instinct, as he looked around the Mantis crew members. "Friends? Kanan, we know them? I've never seen them before."
"Well, not really. We all only just met recently. But it's okay, we can trust them." Kanan looked towards Cal and Cere and they both smiled. Slowly, Cal and Cere both took out their lightsabers and ignited them, and Kanan chuckled fondly when Ezra's eyes widened in shock and amazement.
"Woah! Kanan, he's— they're…"
"Like us?" Kanan finished with a laugh, "I know, bit different knowing it's not just you, Ahsoka and I, huh?"
"Yeah." Ezra breathed out, and he smiled at Cere and Cal, swinging his legs over the bed, and moved to stand, but grimaced in pain, swaying dangerously a little.
Kanan steadied him, hands gently pressed to his shoulders, "Steady, kiddo. Don't push yourself."
"Sorry, sorry." Ezra gave his Master an apologetic look, and looked back up to their new friends, "I'm Ezra,"
Cere smiled at him, "We know, you're Master has told us a lot about you while you were out." Cere moved forward and shook the kid's hand. "I'm Cere Jundo."
Cal stepped towards him as well, mimicking Cere and shaking Ezra's hand. "Cal Kestis."
"They both survived Purge, as I did. Cal was a Padawan, and Cere was a Master—"
"Former Master." Cere corrected with a wave of her hand, "Titles like that don't really mean anything anymore."
Kanan let out a laugh, and ruffled Ezra's hair, "Tell that to Ezra, even though I've told him the old ways of the Jedi are… well, gone, unfortunately, he's still insistent on calling me 'Master' a couple times…"
Ezra grinned, swatting Kanan's hand away teasingly, "Only because you've called me 'Padawan' just as often as I call you 'Master' affectionately I might add, or at least Hera had added that," Ezra said with a sly smile, "'Said that you obviously cared about the titled regardless if the custom was gone or not and even more so when it came to me." At the mention of Hera, Kanan stuttered, he knew that Hera could see through him, but he had not known she knew about that, more so that she told Ezra as such, the last thing this kid needed was more ammunition way to tease him, even if it was all well... affectionately.
Ruffling the kid's hair once more, feeling a bit sheepish, he scoffed, "Shush you."
Ezra smiled back at him.
Then they both looked up, when Cal let out a fond chuckle and his face looked sheepish when everyone started staring at him. "Sorry, it's just… flashing back to Master Tapal. Even after all this time. It's still hard,"
Cere placed a hand on Cal's shoulder, as did Merrin. "Cal…"
"I'm not— reverting back, to the guilt. I just— miss him."
Cere nodded, "I understand, in moments where I feel lost, I miss mine as well, despite having been one myself."
"Mine as well." Kanan chimed in, eyes filled with understanding and a tad bit of guilt having caused his fellow Jedi and friend many a flashback as he often has. "Watching her die was hard, and for a long time I blamed myself and carried such guilt over surviving the Purge. It's still hard, but it's gotten better. Having this kid around, plus the rest of our crew certainly helps." Kanan said as he gripped Ezra around his shoulders. "And while I don't know the extent of your travels or what you have been through… any of you, I know your Master would have been proud of you. Like mine would be, as Cere said."
A moment of peaceful silence passed between them all. And it was broken a few seconds later by Greez walking in, "Uh, hate to interrupt, but there's a very snippy Twi'lek that really wants to speak to you." He said pointing to Kanan and gesturing him over towards the Holonet.
It took a moment but soon a hologram of Hera Syndulla showed up on screen. "Kanan!" Hera said sounding and looking incredibly relieved to see him. "Thank goodness, you're okay."
The emotion he felt when he saw her, filled his heart with warmth, "Hera, it's good to see you. How is everyone?"
"We're fine, managed to drive back the Troopers with the help of our fleet. But then we lost sight of you and Ezra. Is he with you?"
Kanan nodded, running a hand through his ponytail, trying to explain what happened without making her more worried about them, "Yeah, he's right here with me. We… kind of fell off a cliff, but's we're okay nothing too badly injured. In fact, we've made some new friends along the way." He smiled at Cere and Cal, and the rest of the Mantis crew.
"So, you're both safe?"
"Yes, we're safe."
"Alright, I've got the coordinates to your position, we're on the way."
Kanan smiled, "Copy. Thank Hera." The transmission ended and Kanan stood there for a moment before moving back and sitting with Ezra.
Ezra smiled at him, as he gently petted BD-1 on its metal head. "She seemed happy to see you."
Kanan scoffed, "Oh hush you."
"So that was your captain?" Cere inquired with a calmness in her brown eyes as she sat down.
"Hera Syndulla, yeah."
Cere's eyes widened and she laughed then, "Cham Syndulla's daughter? My Master Cordova use to tell me stories of him."
"Mine did as well. Said that Cham and her Master Windu had been friends."
Cere let out a hum that sounded equal parts nostalgic and thoughtful, "I remember in times back before the Purge and even now more so, we can all do with a deal of friends."
Another comfortable silence fell between the Mantis and its crew. Before Cal broke it by suggesting a sparing match with each other. Since they had some time to kill before Hera arrived in the Ghost.
"Sure. Why not?"
So now, they stood outside. Two former Padawans ready to spare with each other, and Kanan actually felt a little giddy, he hasn't spare with another Jedi other then Ahsoka and even that was rare. But Cal had abilities that Kanan didn't and he found himself reverting back to his youngling years where everything about the Force fascinated him.
Taking out their lightsabers, they both clinched them into their hands, before igniting them. "Your lightsaber," Kanan commented softly. "Purple, I haven't seen a genuine purple kyber crystal since Mace Windu."
"I know, I was surprised myself when I first got it, it had been blue but then, it changed and remained purple ever since. I was even able to make a split blade out of it. Comes in handy for breaking a block."
Kanan narrowed his eyebrows, surprised. He realized then that this match was going to be just as interesting as his rare sparrings with Ahsoka.
Bowing to one another, they began.
