so idk if you've talked about this before but i was thinking about how some of your sheith fics take place in the same sort of headcanon universe where keith and shiro first got together when shiro was actually kuron and ttsr! majorly diverges from that! i love the flavor of both possibilities LOL but i'm just wondering in what ways this timeline difference changes how you view/choose to portray their relationship in each scenario! and i don't think we'll get that far in ttsr! (I'M SCARED TBF) but just in your mind palace i also wonder how you think it plays out when shiro comes back as a clone! does kuron even know they're a thing? does keith notice any differences in how he acts? IS HE FREAKIER AND MEANER IN BED LOL? sorry i feel like i send you so many asks abouy ttsr! BUT I GENUINELY THINK ABOUT IT EVERY DAY LMAO. literally it's the sacred texts!!!!

Fgkjfdlg OMG I haven’t actually talked about this at length before because a lot of people don’t notice or don’t comment on it and I don't think anyone has ever asked! 😊

(This is going to contain some mild spoilers for my fics but THE CLUES ARE ALL THERE if you’ve read them before! Proceed with caution!)

SO YEAH LIKE. Not ALL of my Sheith fics fit these two timelines but I have a few versions of how Sheith hooked up that all live in harmony in my mind so sometimes I draw on these and it’s fun to play with them by adding more at different points in time or from different points of view.

One of them is STAR EATER timeline which started with Star Eater and includes Zero Hour and another fic called The Alternative that I wrote for a zine but I haven’t posted it on AO3 because tbh the zine process upset me so much that I don’t want to look at it anymore to make it AO3 ready lol.

The other is TONIGHT THE STARS REVOLT timeline which includes TTSR -> Minuit -> and the Femsheith fic as we circle the moon which is FEMSHEITH TTSR. (This is the order they were posted in, but chronologically it would be TTSR -> as we circle the moon -> Minuit).

And like, when I first started writing Sheith fic, I’d just spent like 2 years writing VC fic full time, and for the most part I try to keep all my VC fics in the same timeline. Mostly just for fun! It’s become like a creative challenge to me to like keep continuity between fics or hide Easter eggs. So I had written Star Eater as my first Sheith fic and then when I wrote Zero Hour I just thought it would be fun to keep it in the same timeline the way I do with VC. But idk I feel a lot freer writing Sheith than I do VC so it was also inspiring to branch out and not stick to the same formula every time.

Something about Sheith too is there’s SUCH a wealth of fic in the fandom and we’ve read so many hundreds of versions of them as a couple and how they got together and everything and like, you gotta understand that I have like 100 fic ideas on deck at all times and I know I don’t have time to write all of them, so I tend to like weed out ideas to prioritize and budget time for if I think I can say something interesting and maybe subvert some of the common fandom tropes. So yes sure, Sheith are soulmates, yada yada, but WHAT IF THEY WERE FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS AND IT WAS AWKWARD ! Or WHAT IF SHIRO NEVER MADE A MOVE UNTIL IT WAS KURON DRIVING BECAUSE KURON WAS LESS INHIBITIED? Listen I’m a slut for angst, too, so like. I’m not really good at writing fluff and it’s not my first choice as a reader, either, so I wanna ask, like sure yada yada soulmates but what if it hurt, or what if it was messy? How can we make this dark and fucked up? Lol

So these two premises are like, places I’ve put a lot of thought, and I think a lot about how that affects their relationship long term and what it says about them. And I think they offer a different flavor, so when I have an idea or I’m in a certain mood, sometimes I think “this would be really nice in whichever timeline.” And a few of my fics they hook up after the war, too! So it really depends like what flavor I’m going for that day and how badly I want to traumatize Keith LOL

But for example, like, TTSR was born in my brain as like misc smut prompts but I thought “It would be subversive if they were FWB" because at the time I never saw canonverse fics where they were FWB, I’d only seen it in AUs. And then when I wrote Minuit it was for the prompt party and my prompt was about Keith nursing Shiro to health after he gets his body back, and I WANTED it to be crampy and uncomfortable and awkward, and I WANTED Shiro to feel guilty and self conscious, and so I thought setting it in TTSR timeline would add to it because it adds that element of like, IS THIS TOO INTIMATE? IS IT TOO SERIOUS? It also includes some flashbacks to when Kuron first shows up, and how he and Keith navigated being around each other, but his memory is sort of fuzzy and he’s disoriented.

I REALLY love thinking about the sort of like, dubcon aspects of Keith fucking Kuron, too, because neither of them are truuuuuuuly consenting. Keithisn't fucking the person he thinks he's fucking, and later on Shiro is bound to be kinda violated knowing that his identity was stolen for it. And would Kuron want to fuck Keith if the Galra wasn't telling him to? I also like the idea that Kuron is not a perfect copy, and maybe he’s bolder, maybe he’s more aggressive, etc. So maybe he did make moves that Shiro didn’t, and Shiro comes back and can’t believe what went on while he was gone. In Star Eater universe it’s sex and in TTSR universe it’s the ilu confession. It's quite violating to everyone involved!

And in both universes I’ve tried to float the idea that Keith could tell something was wrong, or different, but he just assumed it was The Trauma ™. Like Shiro comes back a little bit off, he’s getting migraines, and Keith GETS IT. Keith has also (canonically) made Shiro’s safety his own responsibility, so I wonder if he feels so guilty that he fucked up that he’s not going to push on it. In Zero Hour this takes the shape of Keith not wanting to talk about Kuron at all to real Shiro because he feels so fucking embarrassed that he didn’t notice, and in as we circle the moon (s)he’s struggling the entire time trying to figure out if Shiro needs space to get better or if this is going to be the new normal and how tough the love should be.

One of the reasons re: Kuron why I decided I wanted a clean slate after Zero Hour too is that I kind of regretted the way I interpreted the Kuron lore when I wrote Zero Hour; canon is a little bit unclear about how it works and whether or not Kuron is “dead” or gone from the body. I decided afterwards that I liked the idea of them having to share the space and sort of integrating with each other, which is why I wrote it differently in Minuit. In Star Eater timeline, Kuron’s entire personality is basically AI programmed on what the Galra could map of Shiro’s brain, and WITHOUT GETTING INTO JUNK SCIENCE EXCUSES FOR THE WHY, I just thought maybe it might leave sort of “impressions” in the body, which is why Shiro can sense residual, disjointed memories. I imagined these things like imprints or phantom sensation in his brain, perhaps in the vein of epigenetic trauma.

But in TTSR/Minuit timeline, Shiro is in there WITH HIM and it’s a matter of trying to cooperate who’s in the driver’s seat. I haven’t written this further but I imagine that Real Shiro will one day simply become New Shiro which is him and Kuron sort of integrated as one person; this is why I wrote the scene about him dreaming about a cherished childhood memory except that he’s inserted a twin into it. He will learn to share and accept that Kuron has all his same memories and his own soul, whatever that means.

AND TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS LOL SORRY FOR MEANDERING but I do imagine Kuron being freakier and meaner LOL. Is this grounded in canon or am I making excuses to be kinky? Reader’s choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can justify it by, again, asking if the Galra made an imperfect copy. Because like he IS different! The show communicates this to us by the subtle changes to his character design. And I think about like, the Galra designing him and programming him for a purpose, which is GET CLOSE TO THE RED PALADIN, and I wonder how that might push him in areas where Shiro would’ve been more reserved.

And like what might the Galra get wrong about human psychology and American culture? WHAT ARE GALRA MATING RITUALS? As the BIG BADDIES of canon they come off as being aggressors—even Lotor, who believed he was acting for a greater good, was committing atrocities LOL—so how does that change when they try to build a human personality and human intention? WHAT IF IT’S LIKE JURASSIC PARK WHERE THEY PATCH DNA GAPS WITH GALRA SO KURON IS LIKE AN ALPHA OR SOMETHING HAHA. But no really like what if he’s more virile, what if he’s more confident, what if everything he does is based on some soul-crushing subconscious instinct to BE CLOSE TO KEITH at any cost!!!

These ideas take many forms in my mind, which is why I need multiple versions with multiple answers LOL.

But TTSR Kuron knows they’re a thing, because I think the Galra were sort of downloading/studying Shiro’s consciousness through his arm the entire time he was alive, right? So up until the very end he’d have Shiro’s memories. He will know they hooked up, and he will know how Shiro felt about it. In as we circle the moon (s)he breaks the ILU to Keith in the pilot’s log because she thinks she’s dying and her entire soul is crushed that she never saw her relationship with Keith through, not just for the half of her that shares Shiro’s feelings but also the other half that exists solely to get to Keith.

Star Eater Kuron knows that Shiro has been pining for a while and is the one who is brave enough to make a move!

ANYWAY THIS WAS QUITE LONG AND RAMBLING but I hope I answered your questions LOL.

I think TTSR exists as a trilogy in my mind, and I hope that the huge gaps between updates don’t leave anyone DYING because I’m going to follow canon so there's not a huge mystery where it will go. You can also get an idea of where they’re going by stitching clues together from the other fics. I have no idea if or when I’ll find time to WRITE A WHOLE TRILOGY (please just let me finish TTSR first LMFAO) but I always imagined TTSR ending around when Shiro dies, the middle fic being about Kuron, and the third as the post-S7 story that I have to make up myself because I don’t accept S8 LOL.

MAKE OF THAT WHAT YOU WILL but that’s basically the questions I ask about these guys and how it informs where fics go and if I’m in one mood or another or think one timeline or the other will serve a story I want to tell, I’ll set it there!

Super hard to pick just 5 fics because I have favorites for a bunch of different reasons, but, trying to avoid the obvious, and if I had to choose:

The Peace-Weaver (just has my entire heart always, my massive baby)

Like Moth to Flame (i feel like my writing matured in a lot of ways with this one, and its plot feels a bit more streamlined than mine usually are lol)

The Hurricane in His Veins (my first foray into writing poly stuff & Big Lore & idk i just had a lot of fun w it & still love getting comments on it!)

The Chiquita Chronicles (maybe one of my most unhinged creations & im so proud of that. seal it with a kiss is on the same tier)

Far More Precious Than Gold (this was a super self-indulgent fic that reignited my love for sheith while writing it, & im excited to write more in that universe)

Omg, Hawkeye Sheith!!!

1: Inspired by grem's truly inspired prompt, it was that simple! They wanted sheith with the same energy as the Hawkeye comics by Matt Fraction, which I had not read at all but the ask was so deliciously specific that I was intrigued. Also I love a good mashup, I love superheroes, so I was pretty sure I was game.

What I found blew me away, honestly. Way exceeded expectations! I don't want to spoil in case someone sees this and wanted to check out the series but there's some really innovative stuff in there! Whole issues told from unique POVs, HoH rep, really stunning storytelling, and a deeply relatable flawed hero having ordinary life problems (on top of superhero problems).

I decided to reference as many bits as I could. I especially wanted to get sheith into a specific scenario from the comics, one where Shiro comes crawling into his window late at night and Keith is sitting there in the dark 😒 waiting to read him the riot act.

5: The hardest was the opening action sequence. For context, each issue starts with the same words: "So, this looks bad." 😅

I wanted that same chaotic, fast-paced feeling where everything's already in motion before any of it is explained, but damn that's hard to pull off when writing is your medium! I do like how it turned out, but I rewrote that action sequence many times and workshopped it with several people so it was not easy to get there.

Shiro's great escape, falling from a building while still lashed to a chair? That's another Clint Barton classic:

11: My favorite thing about the fic is that Shiro is such a Keith simp in his head. And it wasn't hard at all to do that Hawkeye-style because, lo and behold, Clint is one hell of a simp, too. I read this page screaming at the way our hero introduces us to his younger protege by waxing poetic about how deadly she is.

Voltron Season 2 (Review)

Season 2 is a season that did better in terms of creating complexity for the characters. Allura’s whole arc with Keith had me on edge the whole time and I was mad at her even though I understood but I also just really wanted their friendship to work out. That hug! Omg, that hug! Season 2 was good for the hugs. Broganes and Kallura hugs all in one season. It is a better season than 1 just cause of that alone.

In a world where everyone is about Klance or Sheith, my little heart melted from the platonic and wonderful Broganes. The unconditional love and support between the brothers in their toughest moments – Shiro in the first episode and Keith finding out he was Galra and dealing with that. They truly were there in each other’s worst moments, which was beautiful.

Also, this season converted me to Kallura. They are not picture perfect but they help each other grow and omg I love that. Allura naturally has a lot of prejudice towards the Galra and Keith helps her not only question that but face her demons regarding this and open up, it was so cute! I loved it and did I mention the hug? I loved the hug they shared. Keith definitely starts to grow on me this season, its still not my favourite characterisation of him as he’s still a bit too hot-headed and rough around the edges, but he definitely grows on me more here.

Another character that became my favourite – started to in season 1 but more so in season 2 was the Black Lion. Yeah, she’s not a Paladin but I love the depth and complexity that was given to abuse. Her going back to Zarkon, allowing him to find them, wanting to go back to what was familiar is so true to abuse and I loved that. It was incredibly sad but also, so true! I’ve seen so many people leave relationships because they were toxic and come back to them. I’ve done the same with friendships and I feel Black’s pain. Even when we realise someone is toxic, its not as easy to leave them as one thinks. There are memories and attachments and it takes a lot of self-compassion and self-love. Something I am still learning and something Black had to learn too, with everyone’s help because she had the right friends or at least made them.

I loved the foreshadowing of her and Keith’s bond too. There were a lot of good individual episodes in this season and this season was definitely an improvement over season 1. I am not a big fan of monster of the week, episodic type of episodes but these ones I feel added to the show a lot so I can rewatch my favourites in this season at least. Like Pidge gaining new abilities as well as Hunk. Lance and Keith using Fire and Ice more often was nice to see especially in smaller moments like the cube reflecting Blue’s ice attack back on Lance and Keith/Red helping out.

The final battle with Zarkon was also intense. His obsession with Black was so typical of an abuser who doesn’t want to lose control and the end to that battle. Poor Shiro. Gave me chills to be honest because we don’t know whether Shiro is dead at this point or just missing. Very amazing end to the season.

Favourite characters this season is hard because they all had good moments but I suppose Keith and Allura stood out the most, their combined arc was amazing to me and it really increased my respect for Keith. He was so patient with Allura! It was awesome.

Space looks different inside a ship than staring up from the ground. It made sense, Keith didn't know why he found it so surprising. He wasn't sure how he could find anything surprising anymore, not after the last few weeks he'd had.

The warm weight that encompassed him from behind didn't surprise him nearly as much as the stars had. He lifted his hands to wrap his fingers around Shiro's now much broader forearms. The cool metal under his glove didn't surprise him, either. Shiro nuzzled his cheek into the side of Keith's head, leaving a brief kiss in his wake. “I've been looking all over for you.” He murmured. “We finally have more than 5 minutes to breathe.” He added with a quiet chuckle.

Keith turned his head so he could press their lips together. “Sorry, thinking about some stuff.” Keith whispered against Shiro's lips.

“Like what?” Shiro asked, resting his chin on Keith's shoulder.

A thousand things swirled around his mind. He wanted to know everything, where Shiro had been, what he'd seen, what they'd done to him, what they made him do. It was all too much. He closed his eyes and thought back to home, suddenly remembering the nearly empty jar underneath the couch in his little house in the desert.

He'd never taken out the last strip. It was supposed to be for the day that Shiro came home, but Shiro didn't come home, not when he was supposed to. 507 small strips of paper littered his house: some he used as bookmarks, a few were taped to his mirror, one was still tacked to his corkboard. Most of them were in a separate jar he'd gotten a week after Shiro left. He couldn't bring himself to throw any of them away.

The first note stayed in his wallet, right behind the Garrison issued ID badge that he'd never bothered returning. It was wrinkled and torn at the edges and tear-stained. Keith opened his eyes and pulled away from Shiro, just enough so he could look at his face. “What did the last note say?” Keith asked, suddenly overwhelmed with the need to know.

“What note?” Shiro answered, stepping forward to cup his chin and run his thumb across Keith's cheek.

Keith took a deep breath. “That jar. The one you wrote the notes for me to look at while you were gone. For my birthday.” He swallowed hard and couldn't look into Shiro's eyes. “I never opened the last note.” His voice broke as he whispered. Shiro didn't speak for an agonizingly long time, and when he did, it was worse.

“I'm sorry.” Came the quiet reply. Keith looked up into Shiro's watery eyes. “I'm so sorry.” He said again, pulling Keith to his chest. Keith whispered his name softly and tried to pull back but Shiro's arms tightened around his shoulders. “I don't… I don't remember what it says.” He sobbed into Keith's hair.

It was disappointing to say the least, but Keith steeled himself. He'd resolved before to never know and it didn't matter now. “It's ok, Shiro. We’re here, we’re together. That’s what’s important.” He murmured, pressing a kiss to Shiro's shoulder. “It doesn't matter what the note said.” He wasn't sure if he was trying to reassure Shiro or himself.

They stood and held each other for a long time, not knowing what to say.

Years passed. The rouge Galra factions were slowly beaten back by the coalition and by Voltron. It would take decades, maybe centuries, for the universe to return to some kind of normalcy after such a long reign of tyranny. With Allura leading the coalition and Lotor leading the reformation of the Galra empire, the Paladins of Voltron were no longer needed to defend the universe.

Keith wasn't entirely sure where everyone else had ended up, but he and Shiro went back to Earth, back to Keith’s place in the desert. The tiny house was a lot worse for wear with no one having been there in so long, but they had each other and nothing but time.

Cleaning out the house gave them both something to do. Something much lower-stakes than universe-saving, but a goal nevertheless. It was Shiro who found the jar, tucked away under the couch. The tape had held under the jar’s seal and he smiled as he brought it to the other room for Keith to see.

No words were exchanged as Keith opened it, pulling the small scrap of paper off of the bottom. It tore a little as he ripped the tape away. “Tonight I'll finally be back where I belong: with you.” Keith read aloud, smiling up at Shiro.

They both laughed a little. It was nothing earth shattering, nothing profound. A simple statement of truth. “Well, I will be.” Shiro said with a grin. He fiddled in his pocket and Keith’s eyes went wide as he knelt, knowing he’d never have a more perfect opportunity than that one. “Tonight, and every night after. If you’ll have me.” He said, holding out a simple tungsten band.

Keith shook his head with a wide smile. “No.” He answered.

“No?” Shiro asked, standing up and moving closer, smiling wide as well. This part? This he remembered.

Keith bit his bottom lip before continuing. “You have to say it.” Both of their eyes misted. “I have to hear it.”

Shiro took Keith’s left hand and held it to his chest. “Keith, will you marry me?” He asked quietly.

“Yes.” Keith answered, letting Shiro slip the ring onto his finger.

It's really funny to me that your icon is shiro because I was an anti during my Voltron phase and I hated sheith while shipping klance.

The funniest part though is that I also really liked shklance (shiro/Keith/lance) and I justified it to my anti self as "well if you combine Keith and lances ages, they're legal adults and older than shiro so it's fine"

Anyway now I accept my that my ship tastes have no bearing on morality and do not signal "good" or "bad" morals.

R: Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom? GIBSON AND GORO ARE SO IMPORTANT TO ME!!!! despite their history there was never any lingering hostility or anything between them. they respected each other so much and took so much inspiration from one another and grew as people because of it. like gibson had been so arrogant and almost selfish in his debut eps but he transformed thanks to goro's influence and became such a humble and selfless person like even when he was dying he never put himself first. it was all about keeping his promise to goro, and making up for lost time with junior, and upholding the pride of his country, even if it meant putting his life on the line to do so. and in the last arc of season 5 we saw how he touched the hearts of fans all around the world with his resolve and i think it's so so beautiful

S: Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged) major au where no one dies and everyone is happy that's my personal headcanon right there. bc if shigeharu had lived i actually think he and gibson had such potential for a rivals to besties dynamic like it was all there. in my heart shigeharu lived and he and gibson became reluctant carpool buddies during the little league arc. i just really wish they had been friends that's it. nothing else to see here

U: Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites roy mustang from fma/b, jaime lannister from game of thrones, and joe gibson from major. they're all war criminals (only emotionally in gibson's case) who are traumatized by the sins of their pasts but later redeemed themselves through their actions thanks to an excellently-written character development arc (in the case of jaime, this was all erased at the last minute. thank you d&d for your service)

Time for season 6! Apparently it's the last fully good season, before a mediocre S7 and an absolutely terrible S8. And honestly, I'm kinda excited bout that. Episodes 1+2, let's go:

God, Lance is really bitter about Lotura

Lotor had a Nanny as a kid. Because of course he did. (Btw, I realized who he reminds me of. Nathanial from CXG! [Cue “Who s the new Guy?” ])

Hunk’s gonna get the viewer some good old exposition

OG!Galra Kitty Man is suprisingly still relevant. After S1 I thought that he's never be seen again

FAVORITE FANFICS OF 2020

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I know I speak for all when I say....I cannot wait to toss 2020 out the door the way Uncle Phil constantly did with Jazz. One of the things that got me through this rough year, besides family & friends & BTS, were fanfics.

It’s that time of year again where I make a list of all the fanfics that I absolutely adored. Some are by veteran favs of mine, others are new to me who just knocked it out of the park. If you’re interested in past lists, here is 2019′s list and 2018′s. If y’all are interested in doing your own fanfic favs of the year, please do so and tag me. Always on the hunt for new favs.

So without furhter ado, my fav fanfics of 2020:

1). Another Word for Forever series by stardropdream (sheith)

Summary: Shiro knows better than to expect love in an arranged marriage. This is all for the sake of universal peace, after all, and solidifying a Terran-Galran alliance. At the very least, Shiro can hope to make a friend out of this. Becoming friends would be much easier, though, if he and his husband could actually communicate.

With a language barrier and a mountain of cultural differences between them, getting to know Keith proves to be a challenge. Luckily, Shiro's always worked well with challenges.

2020 shockingly became the year of sheith. I ended up rewatching the show w/my bestie @littlenightdragon. Diving more deeply into it w/my other bestie @kila09. She and I spent the better half of this year devouring so many fanfics of them in various AUs. I came across new fanfic authors, and stardropdream is among them.

If I could describe this series & stardropdream, I’ll take a cue from Lady Gaga: “ talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it”

This series was just PERFECTION. I’ve gotten into arranged-marriage AUs and this has been one of the best I’ve read. It was just perfection. The language barrier definitely added an extra charm to it, in which Shiro finds his own ways to get to know his husband better: both creative and funny ways. So many cute moments, so many funny moments with Hunk being the translating middle man between them, and the smut. THE SMUT. THE SMUT. THE SMUT. Just *chef’s kiss* Incredible. It was just so so sweet, and such a comfort read. I reread this series 5 times already and hope Robin (the writer) does more stories in this AU.

Please read this series. You’re not gonna regret it. It will MELT your heart.

2). The Golden Hour by @goldentruth813 (sheith)

Summary: After a space mission failure, Shiro loses his arm and his career. Two years later he's settled into a quiet and simple new life on his farm, but when a beautiful alien crashes in his field, he discovers the answers to his questions—and possibly the keys to his future—will come from the stars.

I’m sure no one, least of all Janel the writer herself, is surprised to see this author featured on this list. For now the 3rd year in a row. WOOOW 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 She is the reason I got into shieth, and she just continues to put out amazing conent with them. This story by far has been the best she’s done this year-possibly one of the best ever.

We have Shiro trying to have a simple life at the farm with his dog and animals. A curious BOM Keith who shakes things up with his boldness/innocence-and questions bound to test blood pressure, especially Shiro’s. Loads of cute moments, loads of funny moments, and also loads of oreos.

If summary and my thoughts don’t sell you, only one thing will: reading it for yourself.

3). Spun like Gold by Neyasochi (sheith)

Summary: Though Shiro is currently operating his fledgling bakery business out of a decrepit food truck he got for cheap in a repossession sale, he dreams of something more: a cozy bakery and cafe on a tree-lined street somewhere, filled with the smell of fresh coffee and sugar glaze instead of diesel. A little money could go a long way to helping him get off the ground-- and luckily, Keith has money to burn.

Or: Keith takes care of Shiro’s financial woes, in exchange for a little sugar.

OMG, OMG, OMG was this story so sweet. Neyasochi already sold me with the baking/baker Shiro trope, but went a step further throwing in sugar-daddy Keith who knows his way around his manic family and cars, but when it comes to asking a cute guy out? What better way to make an impression than becoming his best paying customer?

4). The Destiny You Sold by @tryslora (drarry)

Summary: In which Draco knits, Harry makes wands, and things get very tangled up between them.

If there’s one thing I love about fanfics is how they introduce you to tropes you never would consider before. Draco and knitting was a combo I didn’t realize how much I needed until now. And I love the fact knitting played a big part of the accidental bonding. Also loved the fact everyone in their friend group shipped them like crazy. Highly, highly recommend

5) What’s My Age Again? by @lazywonderlvnd (drarry)

Summary: Harry Potter has had enough of pleasing the public, and his reckless tendencies are finally getting out of hand.

The Quidditch World Cup is only a week away; as Captain of the English National Team, Hermione has assured him that his immaturity won’t be tolerated by the Ministry.

And then Malfoy shows up.

(Inspired by the blink-182 song of the same name.)

It’s no secret that I’m such a fangirl of @lazywonderlvnd. Any drarry story I read, I always love. Last year, I ADORED The Changing Lights, which was one of my favorites last year, and her updating/finishing the story was a massive highlight for me. I thank ya for that.

This story was honestly refreshing. I’ve grown so used to Harry being responsible, always doing what’s right, that seeing a story where Harry pretty much has his middle finger in the air to “good reputation”, “being responsible,” because as he brought up: “I’m 25. I’ve been fighting all my life. I’ve earned my life to have fun.”

Okay, granted, it wasn’t quite like that but it was along those lines. And I agree. After all he went through, Harry deserves to have fun. He deserves to be reckless and make stupid decisions.

Also, it was such a blast reading a story where Harry is the brat & Draco has to keep him in line. LOVED.

6). Chocolate and Pastry by agentmoppet, anemonen (drarry)

Summary: When Pansy bets Draco that there is no chance he and Harry could carry out a genuine romantic relationship, he and Harry form a plan. But as their fake relationship progresses, Draco sees a side of Harry he never expected. Harry is struggling with something, pushing it far down inside him where he doesn't have to acknowledge its existence. Draco starts to worry, and then he starts to care, and then... horribly... he starts to fall in love.

Do not let the title fool you like it did me. Title alone, I was thinking it was going to be a fun, fluffy story involving baking, maybe chocolate crafting. However....it was not that at all. It was more. A lot deeper. A lot more angsty. It explored mental health, PTSD and the dangers of loved ones ignoring the signs, and contained an important message:

You can’t love someone out of their illness/disease/ addiction. Which is true and this story showed that.

7). i’m still here by owedbetter (zutara)

Summary: "You see me."

And somehow, that makes all the difference.

If there’s one of the few good things 2020 has brought, it was Netflix bringing back ATLA to their library. Which in turn ignited my love for zutara & had me drag @kila09 into that ship.

This story was just incredible. The way it was written, it really felt like it could have been canon. Deleted scenes that a certain creator didn’t want us to see. The way Zuko and Katara came together, starting from their peaceful friendship after the Southern Raiders episode up, becoming closer along the way.

I dare y’all to read this and not think OMG...is this secret canon bonus material? I definitely plan to read more by owedbetter.

8). all the what ifs i never said by rosegardenlake (sheith)

Summary: Keith is nine when he first notices Shiro. Shiro is gentle and quiet, always keeping to himself. Keith is rough and loud, running wherever his feet will take him, screaming on the top of his lungs into the wind. But despite that, they're a constant throughout each other's lives...if only that could be enough. As they grow, Keith just wants them both to be happy, but instead, he's falling apart.

Rosegardenlake is another sheith writer who I adored last year & adore this year as well. This was a story that I read during the beginning of quarantine-life and when I tell you the number of times Keith’s emotions of loneliness got to me, it’s a big number.

Keith’s struggle with life after high school, after peaking in school, and his mental health reminded me too much of where I was at 2018, which wasn’t a good year for me at all, especially mentally. So that was triggering but it was also helpful since I saw how far I came. And it was beautiful seeing how far Keith came.

Also the relationship between Shiro and Keith was just beautiful. It’s very funny how Keith was Shiro’s protector growing up and Shiro became Keith’s later on in life. There’s a chance your heart may be heavy, but will also be so swelled up with feelings these two bring it.

9). When Night Comes by Oh_Hey_Tae (BTS; poly ot7)

Summary: Jungkook’s tipsy, but he’s not buzzed enough to miss that he doesn’t recognize any of the four dozen people here. And seeing as his friends aren’t ones to ditch and there’s no way they’d play a prank this mean on him, Jungkook reaches the conclusion that he just walked into a stranger’s very expensive home, uninvited, and started eating their food and petting their well-dressed dog.

(Or: Jungkook shows up to the wrong Halloween party and meets the most powerful family in Seoul.)

I can easily say Oh_Hey_Tae easily one of my favorite BTS fanfic favs. Always come through with the stories, and this one was just amazing. We have Jungkook stumbling into a Halloween story, and soon enters into a intense, insane relationship with all six guys, who are already in a relationship with each other. Oh, and supernatural creatures at that.

You do see certain relationships are stronger, deeper. For example, a lot of moments between Jin and Jungkook. Vmin has their own story and moments. But it was just so amazing.

Fair warning. Halfway through, things get darker and Oh_My_Tae really loves playing readers diirty with the angst, but it’s so good.

10). peace-weaver by magisterpavus (sheith)

Summary: You will be the peace-weaver, his mother told him, smiling though her dark eyes welled with unshed grief. The one who brings two bitter enemies together and ends the bloodshed and death between us, once and for all.

But men will always crave war. The Galra, most of all.

Yet another arranged-marriage AU that I loved. This particular one is well-loved in the sheith fandom. I can definitely say it’s considered one of the classic fanfics that’s been read or shared at one point or another.

The story itself reminded me a lot of Macbeth, involving murder and dark forces at bay. The dynamics between Shiro and Keith reminded me of Drogo and Daenerys from GOT, one of my fav couples there, which only made it all the more better for me.

I do credit the author for the creative approach they took with quintessence and Shiro’s role/persona as the Champion

this is mostly so i don’t flood the timeline too much. but also so i can gather all these really lovely things people said and clutch it to my chest.

anon: Your fics are absolutely beautiful and I’m obsessed with your writing style. I’m sure you’ve gotten this question a lot, but when will the next chapter of dcmb come out? I’m in love with it. I can honestly say it’s one of the best fics I’ve ever read in my life.

Sims 4 Sheith Catch up

Shiro and Keith got a lil CC makeover~

Since they spent so much time in space/Shiro still spends time in space/Keith is half alien, I imagine they age a bit slower than the ppl on earth do. Shiro is gonna need some wrinkles soon tho, he on his way to being an elder! :(

This is how the family tree is looking these days:

So many grandkids! As you can see some of them are looking older than before as well. <3 I’ll start oldest to youngest and go through the new families.

Akira and his family:

He is still married to his wife lol, they are in love. I was worried for a bit cuz I installed MCC kind of recently, and while I love that it works sims in the background so I don’t have to, I was surprised to find family members marrying and divorcing and having surprise affairs in the background of other save files lol. I’m very careful with the settings when I go into the Sheith save file.

I don’t have sc but Krolia has aged up! Her and Suki (bestfriend cousins they are!) moved out together and live in a small place in the city. I really like playing in san myshuno so i’m excited to see what shenanigans they will get up to. The twins aged up into teens and OMG WAS I SURPRISED

Konner was about what I expected. He’s still a cutie, aged up with Good and Self assured traits. He wants to be a good cook. BUT OMG YUU, short little chubby kinda bland Yuu...HE IS SUCH A HANDSOME GUY.

I like really love both him and his style, he aged up with the good trait like his brother and he also aged up with the feminine trait and that shirt, which I love so much lol. He’s seriously so handsome in game too...0///0

He wants to be a great mixologist! I think the next pack I’ll get is dining out, and maybe once these boys are adults they can move out and try to run a restaurant together, Yuu as a bartend and Konner as the cook? I’m excited.

Eva is still a child for now but I gave her a bit of a makeover too cuz I got a lot of new kids cc I wanted to play with, she is a cutie. <3

Matteo got a bit of a makeover too even tho he was about to age up lol...and also Lea (a baby Akira and his wife Mabel adopted!) aged up into a toddler too!

Altho right after I gave him a new look and new clothes, I noticed Matteo’s birthday was that day lol so we threw him a birthday party and let him age up! Birthday parties are so cute...seeing this whole big beautiful family Keith and Shiro made together makes me kinda emotional.

Also it seems like Konner and his cousin Leandro seem to not like each other? idk whats up but it looks juicy. I installed the slice of life mod and Konner started getting bullied at school...does Leandro have anything to do with that? I think Leandro and his sister would go to a private school lol but hey maybe Konner and Yuu managed to test into it to?

Anyway party was successful and Matteo is a big boy now!

This post ended up real long lol so I’m probably gonna continue with the catch up in another post.
