FINISHED AAAAAAAA I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS RN
SO...
OVERALL THOUGHTS
Spoilers for those who haven't played
It was pretty speedy on the first half up until Mr. L showed up. FREAKING LOVE HIM. HE'S SO GOOFY WHEN TRYING TO BE EVIL...AND HE'S ALSO OTHER THINGS IN MY HEAD BUT I'm gonna keep it rated G huehuehue.
Where the hell did SQUIRP GO. I love him 😟. He was a sweet baby boi. I see the implication of what happened after giving away the pure heart...
Francis. The. Worst.
Tippi having a TINY crush on Mario was FUCKING ADORABLE
Bowser was an absolute chad of a character. He and Carrie was such good combo to cheese everything. I even cheesed the final battle that way. Got the....THING cornered and won pretty quickly!
Mimi 😰 Enough said.
The cloud area was a PAIN in the ass. But then again, most of the levels after the green door were. I had....so many apples...until it dawned on me a little too late that i didn't have to PICK ALL THREE FROM EACH TREE.
The Luvbi bit LEGIT made me tear up a little.
Dimentio snapping everyone away was funny in a sense because I can see why Bowser and MAYBE Mario ended up in hell while Peach was in heaven. BUT WEEGEE, MY BOI. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO END UP IN HELL AS WELL?
I KEPT forgetting to use Tippi for clues almost all the time. So when i finally got used to her gimmick, the game takes her away. Francis, go jump off a ✨CLIFF✨
So yeah um....the minute i saw Bleck as a character with a cape and top hat I told myself
ᵒʰ ⁿᵒ
The minute I saw Dimentio as a jester who was a little malignant piece of shit with a TWISTED SENSE OF MORALITY...
ᵒʰ ⁿᵒ
And the minute I saw the BEAN SPROUT Floro sprouts ESPECIALLY after being told to draw a Luigi with one because it looked cute...
ᵒʰ ⁿᵒ
The minute I SAW ONE ON HIS HEAD AND HE WAS REVEALED TO PRACTICALLY BE A SLEEPER AGENT FOR DIMENTIO

PH ~Complaints~
This is the first of several pieces I will be making about this series. Reading Pandora hearts was an experience to say the least and I wanted to organize my thoughts into separate categories, because it’s too much to post out normally. Also I’m insane and I think it’ll be fun for me at least. These posts will contain spoilers but maybe it’ll spark people’s love for the series. Maybe it’ll get people to buy the manga volumes. Maybe the stars will align and it manifests an anime reboot (delusional).
Tumblr media
With that out of the way, we will start with my complaints and nitpicks of the series. Which isn't a lot but there will be explaining to do here. As a disclaimer, these are things that I found worth mentioning and may not be any issues you had reading. I am going off my initial reading of ph too so if I miss anything, don’t come at me lol.
-> The most notable complaint I need to talk about first is early ph. But I bring it up because this is the main thing that can turn people away from the series. “The early chapters are slow” is a complaint I heard before starting ph. Upon looking back, it wasn’t necessarily slow for me and I enjoyed those parts. But when reading, it was chaotic and felt like nothing was moving. It felt like we were rushing to nowhere. I took several breaks because it was so overwhelming. And I wasn’t reading them physically but off of sites, I know a lot of you remember Bezarius, Liam, Shalon lol. The wonky translations in the early chapters aren’t mochijun’s fault of course, but it didn’t help matters for me.
So much information was jam-packed with an already intricate story. And granted, later on in the 50s-60s chaps, the world makes more sense. But when you haven’t gotten to that point, it’s a lot to take in. You can compare early parts of ph and vnc to see exactly what I mean. VnC’s introductory chapters are much more polished. And some stories work better that way but in ph’s case for me, the direction wasn’t clear. I mean you know the objective, finding Alice’s memories but after that it was just a bunch of “huh???” It wasn't until we met Elliot and Leo, eventually Rufus that everything became more coherent. And you can argue, “yeah you’re supposed to be confused” which is valid but it was a bit messy for me, and I know it's inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
But not only was it confusing and can be perceived as slow (though again not for me), these chapters are long. Certainly not a complaint, I loved having long chapters. But if you’re confused af, you feel as though the plot isn’t moving, and you have these long chapters to add. I see why people may drop the series because “it’s too convoluted and the author doesn’t know what they’re trying to say.” I don’t agree with that but I understand if they weren’t able to go past chapter 35 or something. But we all must remember this was mochijun's first real series. So I understand as well why its beginnings aren't that grounded and can forgive that.
->The second complaint is that there wasn't enough characterization of the Baskervilles squad (as in Lottie and her gang I'm excluding Zwei here) as individuals. What do I mean by this? You can say “well they weren’t that important” which I kinda disagree with because they were the antagonists we were worrying about for half of the story as they searched for their leader Glen.
Tumblr media
We got depth given to them as a group, we see that there is a genuine, familial bond. I wanted to know their past or backstories and the most we got from was Lily. You can say we got Lottie too but I don't know I was left wanting more. We know Doug and Fang got Lily’s tattoo in solidarity which is my favorite moment from the squad. But who are they y’know? Fang had such a cool design, how did he join the Baskervilles? Doug is a nothing character. I haven’t read the light novels so these questions could be answered there but having read the manga, we should’ve gotten more.
-> Going from that, the whole Glen thing. Again, might be explained more in the light novels but from manga content, I wish we got more explanations and lore. Who was the first Glen? Who is Levi? He’s someone who we deserved more insight into and what made him so detached.
-> I wish we had more chain on chain fights. I read somewhere that mochijun had struggles mapping out action scenes so they were kept to a minimum. But I think due to that, we don't get to see the true extent of these chains' powers. And yes, Break's condition prevented him from using his chain much. But Break and Vincent's dynamic was great, a final showdown between them with their chains would've been so cool. Mad Hatter vs. Demios we were robbed...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> Isla Yura in general. Not gonna lie, I forgot he existed. I can respect the role he played, especially knowing now mochijun based Dr. Moreau off him. He was a worthy threat and his obsession with Jack makes sense. But his personality just wasn’t it and rubbed me the wrong way. Stereotypical queer antagonist from the 2000s, we did not need this.
->This might be a biased one but Cheshire should've been a prominent character. We see he’s important to Alice but we got a whole mini-arc with him in the beginning, him appearing in the Break backstory and then he's gone until the final 8 chapters. I also wish he behaved like the cat he’s inspired by. Sassy, mischievous with a dash of dark humor. (though now I say that, Oz does have some of that). There was just so much potential that we simply didn’t explore with him.
-> Speaking of such, Sharon and Ada were so underused. I was expected more from Sharon’s arc and her Eques chain is so cool but that didn’t happen. Every moment with Ada was fantastic but she’s mostly put to the side which sucks. Her relationship with Oz was lacking for me, he comes back from the Abyss and we do not see him think of Ada until 15 chapters later? Her overall reactions to Oz dying essentially after the finale, learning her father’s death, none of this is there. These two had potential, Sharon even being part of the main five, that wasn’t delved into.
-> Vincent and Ada. Okay, lemme break it down. I kinda love them, they didn’t get together which was sad but was the best choice to make. But I do question why this relationship exists. To be honest, until the last 14 chapters I thought she dropped them completely. I was wondering what was the point of making them a whole thing and having read to the end, I still kind of think that. We got two or three main interactions with them and then we just never got back to Vince/Ada until the finale. It was as though the plot simply couldn’t make time for them, it was tightly knit at this point and everything was heading for utter insanity. But then, we get the emotional climax of Vincent’s character. We get Ada telling Vincent “I forgive you”. It hits hard because Vince is a top 5 character for me. But in terms of their relationship, it didn’t feel earned. I don’t think it was developed enough to get such a heavy moment like this.
Tumblr media
Their last encounter from what I remember was in the headhunter arc, Ada telling Vince she’ll always be by his side. And while we see he cares about her safety then, I don’t think that means what they have is strong enough to break the self-hatred Vincent has built up for years. Why did it have to be Ada? I know Gil wasn’t getting through to him but if he told Gil what’d he had done. That he indirectly caused the tragedy of Sablier, and Gil really said fuck it, held him down and screamed “I forgive you! The outcome might’ve been the same. Vincent respected Elliot. Vincent looked up to Jack. Vincent grew to care about Ada. But to me, the only person he loved in this world was Gil. And in his last moments, that is all he had. So this whole Vince/Ada thing, while I enjoy them and definitely needed more, at the end I doubt how necessary it was for either of their characters.
->At last, the ending. I love the ending, let’s get that out of the way. Two things I need to say though. One, it did conclude faster than it should’ve. It’s not to a degree where it significantly brings it down but we could have used 5, 6 more chapters. Chapter 104 should’ve been cut in half, 104 ends with “see you later Gilbert” and 105 is total epilogue. That way, the events of 104 get to sink in with the reader. Second, and I know you saw this coming, Reim marrying Sharon. This is the one thing I see most fans have an issue with for the ending and I completely agree, this did not make any sense. It felt like the biggest last minute decision. I think mochijun and the magazine had reached the end of their rope because no one got together in the end. Oz and Alice didn’t become canon really, Gil is too gay, Elliot’s dead so we couldn’t even get elleo implied canon.
(Though you can make a whole other thread arguing how their entire relationship already was from how intimate they were) We all knew Rufus wasn’t gonna marry Sheryl, Vince and Ada went their separate ways. So it was just “alright, um….someone’s gotta get with someone.” And from what I know, there’s no artwork or moment in the series that hints in the slightest that this would happen. We never get a teasing moment from Break about them, Reim and Sharon are friends but the main connection between them is Break. I don't buy the whole "Break's death affecting Sharon deeply and she found comfort in Reim who shared her pain" because you don't have to marry someone who understands your grief. They can just be there for you as a friend. And there was no signs of romantic attraction AT ALL.
Which makes me doubt mochijun planned or even wanted to do this. Her hands might’ve been tied by higher-ups and she had no choice but to include this to deliver the finale she had in mind. This is pure speculation so I could be wrong but with that, this essay I guess, wraps up. There’s other stuff I may not have mentioned, like the jury thing is so absurd but I want to reserve that for my mochiverse theory. When it's all said and done, Pandora hearts is still an amazing series, mochijun has definitely improved as an author. My vnc-ph comparison post which may be after this one will elaborate on that in more detail. Thank you for listening to my rant. What are some complaints or nitpicks you had with ph?

The Glory part 1 and 2 Overall Thoughts
Slight spoilers ahead!
I think The Glory is the perfect kind of show for the watch style that Netflix likes to promote with its originals. I don't think I would have enjoyed this show as much if I didn't get to binge part one all in one sitting and do the same with part two. Binging really disguises many of the miniscule flaws this show probably has and in the end we're left with a deeply satisfying and cathartic revenge story.
This show is understandably not going to be everyone's cup of tea. The opening episodes have scenes of horrific bullying that can be triggering and incredibly hard to stomach. I understand why it was necessary though as it allows the viewers to feel the visceral anger and hopelessness of the main protagonist Moon Dong Eun.
The acting performances in this drama are top-notch but the standout in my opinion has to be Shin Ye Eun who plays the young version of Park Yeon Jin the main antagonist. I never thought Shin Ye Eun was a great actress before this but she's legitimately terrifying in this role, I both wanted to see more of her and less of her at the same time because she's so good as young Park Yeon Jin but I knew if we saw more of her we would have to see more of the horrible bullying. It got to the point where part of me wishes young Moon Dong Eun could have gotten revenge on young Park Yeon Jin just to see her reactions.
Slight spoilers ahead where I discuss two particular issues I had with the drama.
Like I said before, the show probably has more flaws that I'm not specifically pointing out I know there are people that have issues with the show and I don't really want to put too much of my focus on that because overall I thoroughly enjoyed this show.
The first issue that really stood out to me is although this drama does a really good job at centering bullying from a victim's perspective I do think they put a little too much emphasis on the physical scars that bullying leaves compared to the emotional ones. What I mean by this is that we see Moon Dong Eun use her scars to shock both Joo Yeo Jung and Ha Do Young and try to get them when they tried to dissuade her from getting revenge. In my opinion by doing this it kind of ignores the fact that people get horribly bullied but not have any physical scars but a multitude of emotional ones.
The second issue I have looks like it's probably a common complaint that lots of viewers have with this show and has to do with a character of Joo Yeo Jung. But I think my complaint differs from most people in that I didn't dislike the love line between Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun, the common reasons listed for being against their love-line are the big age gap between the actors and the fact that Song Hye Kyo has more chemistry with Jung Sung Il, all this is true and the love line is definitely the dramas weakest link but there's so little of it until the very end that it's pretty easy to ignore. However, I understand the writer's old school intentions behind the love line even though never translated to screen all that well. In the end, Moon Dong Eun got everything her 18-year-old self never got to have and got her version of a fairy tale ending.
I personally just wish the character of Joo Yeo Jung was a shade or two darker than he ended up being as we know Lee Do Hyun has the acting chops to pull it off in fact I think it's mostly thanks to his natural screen presence and acting skills that the character of Joo Yeo Jung doesn't feel out of place. His character's best moments definitely come when he lets out some of the darkness under the Pretty Boy veneer. I don't think any of the actors in his age group with a similar level of fame could have pulled it off.
I think I speak for most of the viewers of this show but Lee Do Hyun would be terrific in a psychopathic role. K-dramaland please let this man play a psychopath already!
For me it's hard to talk about the flaws of the show because in my opinion it got most of the really important things totally right. It never dumbed down its villains so the protagonist could have an easy win it made each win feel hard-earned and best of all satisfying. And perhaps most importantly it never tried to make you sympathize with its villains it portrayed them as fully fleshed human beings but never tried to justify their horrific behavior. It wrapped up every single storyline without any plot holes and I will always be thankful it handled Ye Sol's storyline that way it did. I was totally expecting them to screw up the storyline somehow but no Ha Do Young is Ye Sol's dad forever!
Whether you love or hate this drama, it's hard to discount the cultural impact this show has had on Korea and different parts of Asia in terms of the subject of bullying. Because of this show there has been news reports of people finding the courage to confront their bullies and famous people getting outed for their past bullying. With that being said I guess I have to touch on the fact that the director of the show himself had allegations of bullying what against him when part 2 got released. I don't think anyone should boycott the show because of the allegations as it seems like the situation is not so clear-cut. I think this article with its title sums up the situation the best so I'll just put the full title here: ‘The Glory’ director Ahn Gil Ho faces ‘bullying’ allegations from accuser that oddly seems to admit bullying themselves
TLDR: The Glory will not be for everyone but is a super satisfying revenge tale that boosts terrific acting performances with a few missteps along the way but those miniscule imperfections will most likely be in your rear-view mirror after the cathartic Netflix binge. 9/10

Voltron Season 2 (Review)
Season 2 is a season that did better in terms of creating complexity for the characters. Allura’s whole arc with Keith had me on edge the whole time and I was mad at her even though I understood but I also just really wanted their friendship to work out. That hug! Omg, that hug! Season 2 was good for the hugs. Broganes and Kallura hugs all in one season. It is a better season than 1 just cause of that alone.
In a world where everyone is about Klance or Sheith, my little heart melted from the platonic and wonderful Broganes. The unconditional love and support between the brothers in their toughest moments – Shiro in the first episode and Keith finding out he was Galra and dealing with that. They truly were there in each other’s worst moments, which was beautiful.
Also, this season converted me to Kallura. They are not picture perfect but they help each other grow and omg I love that. Allura naturally has a lot of prejudice towards the Galra and Keith helps her not only question that but face her demons regarding this and open up, it was so cute! I loved it and did I mention the hug? I loved the hug they shared. Keith definitely starts to grow on me this season, its still not my favourite characterisation of him as he’s still a bit too hot-headed and rough around the edges, but he definitely grows on me more here.
Another character that became my favourite – started to in season 1 but more so in season 2 was the Black Lion. Yeah, she’s not a Paladin but I love the depth and complexity that was given to abuse. Her going back to Zarkon, allowing him to find them, wanting to go back to what was familiar is so true to abuse and I loved that. It was incredibly sad but also, so true! I’ve seen so many people leave relationships because they were toxic and come back to them. I’ve done the same with friendships and I feel Black’s pain. Even when we realise someone is toxic, its not as easy to leave them as one thinks. There are memories and attachments and it takes a lot of self-compassion and self-love. Something I am still learning and something Black had to learn too, with everyone’s help because she had the right friends or at least made them.
I loved the foreshadowing of her and Keith’s bond too. There were a lot of good individual episodes in this season and this season was definitely an improvement over season 1. I am not a big fan of monster of the week, episodic type of episodes but these ones I feel added to the show a lot so I can rewatch my favourites in this season at least. Like Pidge gaining new abilities as well as Hunk. Lance and Keith using Fire and Ice more often was nice to see especially in smaller moments like the cube reflecting Blue’s ice attack back on Lance and Keith/Red helping out.
The final battle with Zarkon was also intense. His obsession with Black was so typical of an abuser who doesn’t want to lose control and the end to that battle. Poor Shiro. Gave me chills to be honest because we don’t know whether Shiro is dead at this point or just missing. Very amazing end to the season.
Favourite characters this season is hard because they all had good moments but I suppose Keith and Allura stood out the most, their combined arc was amazing to me and it really increased my respect for Keith. He was so patient with Allura! It was awesome.

Nijigasaki 5th Solo Listening
my thoughts (gonna edit as I go)
Ayumu - It’s cute. I like the beat. But not as memorable to me. I literally forgot how it sounded before I typed this. sorry Ayumu
Kasumi - I LOVE THIS. I haven’t listened to all her solos yet so idk if this is different for her. But I love how soft it sounds. Very elegant and sweet. Ty Kasumin! She did a good job vocal wise too
Shizuku - A very cutesy song. Wasn’t expecting it but I’m glad. I watched the Shuffle Unit fes and I thought Shizuku’s VA sounded rlly good doing Doki Doki Pipo Emotion. I think she sounds rlly good with a cutesy voice ngl. It’s very different from what we are used to from Shizuku but I appreciate it
Karin - I LOVE HOW JAZZY THIS IS. I love this it fits her and is very cool sounding. I love this and will definitely be rewinding it multiple times when it drops
Ai - Giving Fujin Rizing meets Hello Happy World vibes. Love this one! I love the part leading up to the chorus (idk music terms)
Kanata - This feels like video game music. I can’t describe it. Why is it so funky. I wasn’t expecting this at all. I actually don’t listen to Kanata a lot so maybe this is the norm and I’m being silly. I love this
Setsuna - OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!!! MY GIRL POPPED OFF. Coco did amazing her. She has so much power to her voice!! I’m glad
Emma - Aw I like this. Very groovy. I love the instruments in this. Good song. Emma sounds rlly good
Rina - I don’t enough strong opinions on this one unfortunately :( I’m starting to feel like all these songs sound the same… it isn’t Rina’s song fault though! This one just doesn’t stand out to me
Shioriko - Very pop-like. Wasn’t expecting that either
Mia - I LOVE THIS
Lanzhu - I WAS WAITING FOR THIS. I like the beginning a lot. Very cool song I love you Lanzhu. High hopes for the rest
Personal favourites: Setsuna, Karin, Kanata, Kasumi, Mia and Lanzhu. These stood out to me the most

OUROBOROS
this is a bit odd being my first post but here goes...
OUROBOROS is a niche type. from the beginning, you can get a sense on where the story is leading:: a man getting over his trauma and realizing his sexuality through it, going through deep stages of grief and self-reflection
there's a sense of "slimy-ness" in almost every character in the story in the beginning. everyone has their own motives and has an odd way of showing it, most of their motives being stemmed from trauma.
i don't know how to feel with the random flashbacks nearly every single chapter in the beginning. some fit and others feel either repetitive or out of place with how the story is leading. like, one moment the MC is reminiscing on how he and his former wife used to interact as children, the next panel is him getting his back blown.
i will give props to how the author wrote in how some people deal with PTSD. it's pretty accurate and it gets to the nitty gritty with how it's presented.
now that im finished with it, all i can say is.... wow. this is so well written, and not really something you would expect from a story like this. i wouldn't consider it bittersweet, i would consider it golden. the MC is where he belongs and surrounded by the people that truly care about him.
overall:: 9.5/10

phenomenal episode overall. kendall demanding clouds because he saw them in berlin and trying not to cry when the stagehands cannot in fact build berlin in a day. matsson walking barefoot across a tarmac. shiv and tom biting deep into each other's forearms to see who can withstand the pain the longest in public at a fancy business event. roman firing a random woman because she didn't seem to think he lived up to his dad. roman firing gerri because she doesn't think he lives up to his dad. roman regretting firing gerri immediately and asking ken to undo it but ken is overjoyed and says it's what dad would do so roman smiles and says okay. kendall floating faceup in a body of water that he dove into of his own accord. shiv booking an empty conference room to cry in when no one's around. gerri saying fuck. karl serving cunt. roman genuinely feeling bad about not including shiv, apologizing to her, and asking if they could all hug. kendall announcing a bizarre dystopian real estate project that's framed as 'like a cruise but on land and forever and by forever we mean forever we're talking cryogenics.' tomshiv playing straight chicken all episode. roman listening to an edit of his father insulting him over and over on the ride home. everything i ever could've wanted

[ID: Digital illustration in color of Vash and Wolfwood from Trigun. The illustration takes place during the ship/home arc, specifically chapter 21. At the center, Vash is grabbing Wolfwood by the collar and pulls him into a kiss in the middle of a celebration. The pair is colored in vibrant warm hues while their surroundings are colored in cooler colors like green and teals. Luida, Brad, Meryl, and Milly are shown amongst the crowd, occupied in the celebrations as Vash and Wolfwood share a moment by themselves at the center. END ID]
#vashwood#trigun#trigun maximum#vash the stampede#nicholas d wolfwood#hospital yuri (explodeds) like any average vw enjoyer i will never get over that arc#specifically the scene where they heard the news of earth ships coming and did that little handshake they somehow conjured or#Had already. and then the entire ship had a party... meryl and milly started drinking immediately from joy and dragged vash and ww to get#wasted too and overall celebrate together. the chapter moves quickly just like how the hope was quickly withered out and died just hours#later when knives destroyed it. BUT IM JUST THINKING ABOUT IN THE MOMENT OF IT ALL bc in the same chapter#ww asks for a chance for tomorrow and then gets news of earth ships coming. in this same arc vash is thinking of all the things he needs to#resolve so his home doesn't get attacked so the people he love doesn't have to die and the humans he wants to protect gets to live.#i feel like deep down they both semi-recognize that it can't be this easy and regardless of earth ships coming- there's still a wait for#them to arrive and they have to hold out. and regardless ww still has a mission to follow through and vash knows knives would find out#but in that mood of celebration the entire ship brought in - they can at least let themselves relax for a moment and indulge#how they basically engaged with no violence for the few days they were on that ship coaxing them into domesticity... i feel like their#thoughts would wander to somewhere soft and all#allowing them to push aside the tiptoeing and tenseness and be sweet for a night#ruporas art

Taxi Driver 2 episode 8 overall thoughts
After watching episode 8 I'm convinced that On Ha Joon (Shin Jae Ha) it's not this season's ultimate big bad I feel like he is a leader of some sort in that evil organization but not the head honcho. Because it's weird to me that he allowed one of his associates/subordinates to question his plans in regards to the Rainbow Taxi team. He also just doesn't feel menacing enough. I know it may seem that I don't like Shin Jae Ha as an actor but that is not true I do think if he is going to be the ultimate big bad of the season he is miscast in the role. I feel like his character is probably part of the leadership team but also someone that had to work really hard to get there based on the hints we get about his backstory hence he might not have the respect of some of the higher ups in the organization.
As for the case itself the case for episode 7 and 8 didn't pack the emotional punch I was hoping for but I feel like we still had some really great moments. I especially love the fact that they're giving Go-eun more scenes outside the van.
I'm really happily surprised that they're feeding us Doki-Goeun shippers so well this season this must be what Pyo Yejin meant when she said the love line is leveling up 300%. (I personally wouldn't put it that high I would say somewhere around 150% but it is definitely a noticeable leveling up for sure).
The cliffhanger has me really excited for next week. I hope it's not misleading and that they will show us how Doki came to suspect On Ha Joon. 🤞
Plus next week we get an One Dollar Lawyer crossover with what seems like a Namkoong Min cameo. Namkoong Min must be really good friends with Lee Je Hoon in real life or perhaps they just like collaborating together because Lee Je Hoon has also cameoed in two of Namkoong Min's dramas.
