The school is hosting a prom, but the readers partner never shows up to practice, she excused herself to the rooftop and watch the other students dance and practice with their partners and hanako sees her and asks why she isnt down there with the others, and so he became your practice buddy ;3

summary: kamome gakuen is hosting a prom so students are required to practice dancing with their partners, in which [name]'s partner doesn't show up to school—so hanako was willing to be her temporary practice buddy.

kamome gakuen, where students with earrings and deadly weapons were never interrogated and supernaturals roaming around the areas like it's a free real estate because the principal never shows up at some point to patrol the school.

recently, the teacher announced that the school will be holding a prom. [name] thought it might be best not to join the event, it's not like it's going to be beneficial—"to those who will be joining, there will be unlimited food and an exemption to the upcoming exams."

that sounded like a good deal. "but then all students are required to practice for the dance." [name] didn't mind as long as she can get her hands on the unlimited food, plus she could really take a break from the dreading piece that grinds your brain in which she calls homework.

"the practice will start tomorrow in the auditorium. each class representatives will forward the list of your partners on your school groupchats, if you guys have one of those." the teacher added as he finished picking up his things to leave. "that would be all, good bye class."

[name] guessed that there's no way she's backing up now after hearing an exemption for taking the exams and unlimited food during the party—and [name] is willing to stick her foot out of her comfort zone for that.

it didn't take long till the class representative sent the list of the students along with their partners while on her way home. [name] opened the pdf file to try to search for her name in the list.

"ah, some guy i don't know." [name] simply said before continuing her way to her apartment. apparently it was a mix and match between first years. she wondered whether they used a random generator to pick partners, for shits and giggles.

[name] didn't bother since there's unlimited food waiting for her in the party. [name] would go alone since the dance is the only thing that required a partner and it has been assigned to her so it's okay.

the next day arrived, the first years are gathered by the gym to practice for the upcoming prom. everyone seemed to be acquainted with one another but [name] couldn't find eidri anoshima anywhere. "hi excuse me," she smiled at the random student. "i'm looking for eidri anoshima-san, by any chance have you seen them?"

"sorry, i don't know them..."

[name]'s smile slightly faltered. "i see, is there anyone i can ask?"

"try to ask their class representative." [name] quickly thanked the student and tried to find 1-C's class representative. there are a lot of students so it's hard to tell, [name] didn't even know what they looked like.

also, there's no one who came forth to guide her to her partner nor do they even approach her and say "anoshima-san is looking for you." it's almost as if that no one is searching her. "where is that guy anyways?" [name] muttered under her breath, almost everyone found their partner and she hasn't.

"[surname]-san!" [name] turned around to see the representative from her class along with another girl which she assumed that maybe she's the representative from class c.

"[surname]-san, right?" the girl asked, clasping her hands together and gave [name] an apologetic smile. "i'm so sorry, that idiot anoshima decided not to show up, i told him that there's going to be a practice but he never replies or read the messages."

there was a relief, for [name] at least, since she won't be participating in practice if she doesn't have a partner. "it's okay, i'll just watch you guys practice from upstairs." [name] went upstairs to oversee the practice, she watched them repeat the steps, go through the whole thing again and repeat.

it was getting boring to watch.

but it would be more tiring if she does dance.

"heya, [name]~!"

"whoa—!" [name] slightly jumped and looked at hanako who's now smiling while waving a hand. "hanako-kun, jeez you keep appearing out of nowhere." she deadpanned.

"hehe~ i'm a ghost so i can do whatever i want~" hanako landed next to [name], putting his hands above the railings as he looked down to the students practicing for the dance. "so what are you doing up here?"

"i'm just watching the first years practice their dance to the upcoming prom." [name] replied.

"why aren't you down with the others?"

"my supposed partner never showed up for today's practice so i can't learn the dance without one." [name] explained, she doesn't seemed bothered by it since it's not like she's looking forward to the dance—she's more motivated when it comes to food. "that's why i'm here."

"i see..." hanako nodded at her statement. an idea appeared inside his head, he waved his hand as his tsueshiros circled around him to transform him to his cape. "in that case, you need to practice too."

"h-hoi! wait—" hanako grabbed [name] by the hand to hold her as he used his haku-joudai to teleport them to another place. just like that, they disappeared out of thin air and no one seemed to notice.

the two ended up going inside the sealed auditorium. hanako placed [name] to the ground, earning a gentle smack from the female. "jeez—you should warn me where we're going next time." she playfully scolded.

"at least you can practice here alone without getting embarrassed, you didn't want anyone to watch you dancing right?" hanako said with a wide grin. [name] narrowed her eyes with a small blush seeping through her cheeks. "so how are you going to practice?"

"i'm going to listen to the song first." [name] pulled out her phone and plugged in her earphones to play the song that they are going to dance while sitting down on the wooden stage. the song has a slow beat, perfect for a slow dance—something you can dance with around the kitchen with the refrigerator light.

hanako was quite curious about what [name] is listening so he gently pulled out an earbud. "can i listen to it too?" [name] flinched at hanako's presence nearby because it felt like he was whispering in her ear on how soft his voice is. she blushed, looking away as she nodded. "this sounds nice..." he said.

"mhm..." [name] nodded shyly. she and hanako shared earphones a lot but in this scenario, it's like there was a hint of intimacy between the two—they're alone and both listening to a slow dance music.

[name] subconsciously started to sway to the music, then tapping her fingers to the beat. hanako did the same by dancing using his fingers, [name] smiled and started to use her fingers to follow him. basically the two teens started finger dancing to the music they are listening to.

"i don't know how to start the dance because first of all, i never slow danced before... i feel embarrassed trying the steps..." [name] said with a wince. hanako was silent and deep in thought on how to help with [name]'s situation, he doesn't know about dancing either so how is he going to make it work for the both of them.

"i'm not that much of a dancer but,"

hanako subtly hooked his finger around [name]'s, his eyes glinting like the stars whilst smiling at her. he stood up, taking [name]'s hand to help her stand up—like a prince of some sort. hanako placed his hand on his chest, bowing a bit and lifted his chin to look at [name].

"may i have this dance?"

[name]'s heart skipped a beat.

"mm..." she nodded.

"i think they did something like this..." hanako tried to recall as he placed his hand on her waist while gently grasping her hand to the other. [name] placed her hand on his shoulder. there was an awkward space between them. "but there's something missing..." [name] commented while looking around.

"aren't we supposed to be close? like this?~" hanako tugged her closer by the waist, [name]'s blood rushed through her cheeks making her look down on her feet. "i don't think you're supposed to look down, my eyes are up here."

"i might step on your feet." [name] winced but hanako lifted her chin with his finger, a cheeky smile forming on his boyish visuals.

"i'll take the lead, just keep your eyes on me." hanako assured as he started to sway her side to side with the beat of the music. how is [name] supposed to be calm when he's looking at her like that as they danced. his amber eyes softening yet they shine like the moon, and his lips curling up into a calm smile.

hanako twirled her around. [name] was staring at him with pure admiration as they danced. they have more chemistry and intimacy than [name]'s assigned partner that never appeared to practice.

[name] hooked her arms around hanako's neck while hanako cupped her waist with his hands. "will you come watch us perform on the day of the prom?" she asked, tilting her head to the side.

"and watch you dance with someone else?" hanako pouted, his gaze averting so [name] won't get the hint that he's jealous—but he is because he wanted to be the only one she'll dance with. his grip tightened. "no thanks..."

[name] giggled. "i'm only dancing with him for the exemption—i'll dance with you anytime."

hanako's smile widened, he placed his forehead against hers with a chuckle. "alright then, i'd like to hold you for the rest of the day..."

- Teru and you haven’t been talking much recently

- All because he was hanging out with someone who asked him out

- Teru has been friends with this person for a long time, and though you didn’t want to tell him who he should be friends with, it made you very angry

- You could tell this person still had feelings for him but Teru didn't seen to notice or care

- But when this person finally started to become more clingy with your boyfriend in front of you

- And this person knew you were dating Teru

- that's when you got pissed off

- You eventually confronted Teru about his“friend” and told him that they upset you

- Teru didn’t see a problem with it and your talk turned into an argument

- You two ended up fighting so bad you two ghosted each other

- And Teru was stubborn

- You stayed at school late and was walking home when you felt like you were being watched

- You used your phone camera to look behind you and you noticed someone who was wearing all black standing not too far away

- You ignored it, continuing your way home

- But when you got the weird feeling again, you looked to see the person not too far behind you again

- You felt your stomach drop, now knowing he was following you

- While you walked, you acted like you were taking a selfie and took a photo of the person in the background of the photo

- You messaged you boyfriend, saying this person was following you and you didn’t know what to do

- But he wasn’t checking his notifications from you, he was upset

- He wanted a night to cool off from the fight, thinking he will be able to talk to you tomorrow

- He was wrong about the reason you were calling.

- The next morning he went to school but you weren’t there

- It was odd

- By the time the lunch bell rang, he went to check his phone and thats when he saw those messages

- His heart sank when he realized why you weren’t at school.

- He quickly called your parentals, asking if you were okay

- Luckily for him, you survived but you were in the hospital after being stabbed 13 times

- Teru took the rest of the day off, waiting for more news

- After a day, the hospital allowed people to visit you and Teru was the first person to see you that day

- When he saw your condition, he felt his chest tighten

- He felt like this was his fault. You messaged him about this person following you and he didn’t help at all

- He couldn’t help you when you needed him too

“Y/n?” Teru knocked on your hospital door, walking into your room. You turned to him and felt your chest tighten seeing him. Last time you two talked, it was an argument and you thought you would never be able to see him again.

“T-Teru-“ You were about to speak but he quickly cut you off.

“Don’t say sorry. I should be the one apologizing. You told me about a concern you had and I didn’t take your feelings into consideration. I acted like a child when I ghosted you and if I looked at your messages… maybe you wouldn’t be in the hospital. I’m sorry Y/n…” Tears formed in Teru’s eyes as he could barely make eye contact with you. He felt like a jerk for igorning you for such a dumb reason.

“Teru… look at me..” He faced you when you called. “I love you so much, thank you for coming to visit me. I forgive you and I’m glad we were able to talk again.” You smiled softly.

“I am too… I’m so glad you are okay” Teru sat down on a chair next to you.

“I am as well, because I get to see you again” You giggled softly and his cheeks turned red. He leaned in and kissed your forehead softly

“I love you, Y/n”

“I love you too, Teru”

- Kou is very sweet and open minded so it’s hard to actually get in a fight with him

- But it’s possible

- Kou loves you but he doesn’t like seeing you in danger

- If you are anywhere near a bad supernatural (for him, that will be Tsukasa-) he will tell you to stay as far away as possible

- If you don’t listen to him, that's when a fight break out

- And this was an intense fight

- You both said some things you shouldn't have

- And you both went home angry

- He was rethinking if he might have been a bit too harsh on you

- But at the same time Kou doesn’t like to be the one being wrong.

- Why couldn’t you just understand that all he wanted to do is protect you

- He wants you to rely on him

- He slowly started to remember the fight that happened between you two so he decided to take his mind off by hanging out with Teru and Tiara

- Not to mention he needs to make dinner

- So he put his phone on his bed and left his room

- While you on the other hand decided to take a walk around the park in the evening

- Deciding how you two could make it up for one another

- You felt bad for not leaving since you know he only wanted to protect you

- But at the same time it annoyed you that he always babied you

- As if you need to be protected 24/7

- You were suddenly startled by the sudden voice next to you

- „Excuse me miss/mister do you by any chance have a lighter? I need it for my cigarette“

- „Huh? Oh no sorry i don’t smoke…“

- You saw the man having some weapon in the pocket and that made you nervous

- Who knows what that man plans to do?!

- You pretended you didn’t see anything and just started to walk away from the creepy man

- You messaged Kou about what just happened and that you might be in danger since

- It is then when you saw the same man still being behind you so you startet to speed walk and spam Kou

- Why didn’t he answer????

- Did that fight effect him that much?

- He wouldn’t be selfish enough to ignore such type of messages so you assumed his phone is dead or he doesn’t have it with you

- There was no near shop to help you either

- So you doing the most idiotic thing you could do

- Turned around to fight the person

- You can guess how it all ended up

- Kou came back after a tiresome day

- He checked his phone

- And let me tell you the shock he had after seeing your Message being „help“ „stalker“ „weapon“ ect. And many keyboard smashes

- He looked through all the photos and videos to find your location while grabbing his weapon and some bandages(just in case)

- And after figuring out in what park you were he ran as fast as he could ready to beat someone up

- After about 15 minutes he finally arrived and Oh my god he was glad he arrived on time

- You were on the ground bleeding out BUT still alive

- he quickly kneeled down next to you

- „s/o are you okay??? where are they?! Stay with me“

- Kou couldn’t think straight

- And all you could whisper is just „help“

- Kou took out his phone called an ambulance while taking out his bandages and wrapping them around you

- „Please s/o …stay with me. I still didn’t get the chance to properly apologize to you!!“

- You softened your face smiling at him

- „S/o? S/o!! Keep your eyes open please!!! S/O!!!!“

- was the last thing you heard before passing out

- ….

- You slowly woke up in a bright room

- Wait..did you actually make it???

- you saw your boyfriend sleeping next to you

- He must’ve been exhausted after all that happened so no wonder he is sleeping

- You poked his cheek trying to wake him up like that

- Amane is normally chilled back but there are times where you two start fighting

- And it can be a small fight then he might insult you and you won’t take that well and insult him…

- And now a big fight has broken out

- Because of this, you two refuse to speak to each other for the rest of the day

- Amane went home that day pissed off and you stayed behind school for a while

- The sun started to set and you decided to walk back home

- You didn’t even notice you were being followed until it was too late

- You were pulled into an alley, not too far away from the school

- You were in a semi-crowded area so you wanted to be seen as fast as you could

- You tried to run away from the person who pulled you in

- But he had a weapon

- Before you could do anything else, you were shot in your leg and you fell to the ground

- The sound of the gun shot alerted people and you soon heard screaming

- The gunman run off and you could hear more shot being fired

- You shook, your leg bleeding

- You needed to tell someone

- You quickly called Amane but got no answer

- You messaged him and messaged him

- But he wasn’t looking at his messages

- He heard the buzzing on his phone but he ignored it, still mad at what you said to him

- Your cries of help turned into pleading and sorrys, thinking that this might be the last time you talked to him

- Your started saying “Amane, I’m shot in the leg, help me” to “I’m sorry for fighting, I love you so much, i don't want to leave you…”

- Soon police came and took you to the hospital

- And Amane had no idea what was going on…

- The morning came and Amane had slept on things

- He calmed down quite a bit and that's when he decided to read the messages

- He felt his heart sink when he slowly started to read the messages

- He skipped school that day, rushing to the hospital where you were at

- He begged the doctors to let him see you, tears in his eyes

- However, they said no, saying you were seeing a doctor at the moment

- So Amane waited passionately, trying to stop crying

- But soon he was allowed to see you

“Knock knock…” Amane knocked on the door as he said this, a small smile on his face.

“Yugi…?” You looked up at him.

“Hey… I’m sorry I didn’t see your messages sooner..” He said softly, sitting on a chair next to you. His eyes were red from crying and he could barely look you in the eye. He was a terrible boyfriend.

“It’s fine… I am alright now though.. well, kind of…”

“I’m just glad you survived… I couldn’t bare to lose you the way we left things” He felt tears starting to form in his eyes again.

“Amane… hey… it’s okay now, I’m not leaving you” You reached an arm out to him, wanting to cup his cheeks. He smiled softly and walked over to you, placing your hand on his cheek.

“I know we both said some things we shouldn’t have… but let’s forget about that, alright?” He nodded his head to your words.

“Yes… I’m so sorry… I love you so much..” He kisses the palm of your hand “We shouldn’t be fighting over dumb things.. I promise to be a better boyfriend, I will make every moment count..”

- You and Tsukasa had a fight because of his brother Amane

- „You lately never have time for me Tsukasa!“

- „BECAUSE IM BUSY HANGING OUT WITH AMANE“

- Witch? Really? You thought to yourself

- you scoffed and went on your way home while Tsukasa went on his way to his brother

- „Seriously of all the insults he could say he chose witch? that idiot“

- You were jealous of Amane since he was constantly with Tsukasa

- Though you don’t blame Amane he once confronted that Tsukasa just loves spending time with him and he barely spends time with his own friends because Tsukasa is so clingy and he doesn’t really know what has gotten into him lately

- You were more mad at Tsukasa than Amane after hearing that

- He is so complicated to understand time to time

- You put your headphones on and went on your way home

- Today you guys had a long day at school so no wonder it’s already dark outside

- You went into a shop to buy some snacks because you planned on watching a film to forget today‘s incident

- After buying what you wanted you went outside and noticed a strange man leaving the shop after you

- You didn’t pay the man much attention

- That is until you noticed the man already following the same path as you for the past 30 minutes

- You didn’t know what to do other than Message Tsukasa so that he can come and bring you company and ofc protect you in case something Happens

- And that’s what you did

- Unlucky for you Tsukasa felt his phone vibrating but he didn’t bother answering thinking its you probably already asking for forgiveness (that jerk)

- And not to mention he is busy playing video games with his brother! You can wait

- Except you actually couldn’t wait right now

- You can get kidnapped or worse get killed in any minute

- You decided to take a shortcut so that you could enter some shop

- Surely they won’t attack in the shop right? Right????

- What did you do to deserve this…

- You were able to enter the shop and OH WHAT A COINCIDENCE

- the stalker had ended up stabbing you and the owner in the shop he didn’t stab you to death thinking you would bleed out eventually

- He robbed you both and left while also shutting the door of the shop

- You couldn’t get out and Tsukasa wasn’t answering so with all your might you had you called the police and said everything before passing out

- You didn’t come to school the next day and that made Tsukasa mad because he didn’t think you would be that mad

- He didn’t even check his phone ???? Like u idiot-

- So he went home and turned on the tv

- And that’s when he saw the news

- „2 people being stabbed an old man and a Highschool girl/boy. Sadly the old man had passed away due to the big wound he got. Fortunately the young girl/boy survived and is currently recovering“

- Tsukasa grabbed his phone and saw all the Messages you had sended him

- He wasn’t sure if he should visit you since he did kinda feel guilty (wow tsukasa and guilt? That’s new)

- So he rushed to his brother and asked for advice

- …..

- He bursted into the room without even knocking

- You were startled and almost spilled your cup of water by the sudden door slamming

- „S/OOOOOOOOOO-„

- „TSUKASAAAAAAAA-„

- Nvm you spilled your water

- Oh both of you

- „You jerk! Don’t you know you dont hug injured people???“

- You looked at him and you could tell he was genuine with his apology

- „I-i brought you chocolate but i ate half of it on my way to you“

I . . . LITTLE LOTTIE Between the fiber threads of dreams and hopes, there is both darkness and light, corruption and wonder, curiosity and incuriousness. Many hope to perform on the stage of an Opera house, especially one as grand as the Hasu ren Niki, or Lotus Populaire, which mimics its sister passed, The Opera Populaire; Built upon it’s rubble by a Japanese and French architects, trying to bring a Phoenix back from the ashes and revive a colorful hope into the dulling city once more.

It became a vital stop for any Prima Donnas and leading Tenors, the first lady and man of the stage, to perform for an audience that came from around the globe; from the New Americas to Europe and even Aisa. Where the height of their career would start and end, allowing them entrance to any other role in any Opera House around the world; For if you could perform on the stage of Lotus Populaire and receive astounding reviews from the critics of France, you'd become one in a million.

One in a million, that is something truly great to achieve; didn’t you know?

Though to become one in a million, you always have to start from somewhere; Just as a flower has to sprout from the ground before it blossoms into a flower, petals gleaming with color while scented oh so beautifully. For You, it began in Europe; more specifically, Britain, on a sweet countryside near the southernmost port.

Often you heard of the stories of the Opera Populaire from travelers. Stories of a majestic Opera house bathed in the glimmering gold with reflective flooring and tall, looming status of women. Of the Opera house with the most comfortable seating, varnished with a deep maroon that screamed lavish, wealth, success, Of the Opera house that spared no expense to have the most reputable, most angelic, most authentic Prima Donna’s on this side of Europe, who sang with not only their voice yet their heart and soul; Who’s acting was just as good as their singing, entrancing, encapsulating.

Few times did you actually manage to go see the Opera house yourself, most times you had to beg your father to let you tag along with the Minamoto’s—family friends who had moved to Europe from Japan—and who were wealthy enough to spare the expense to make a trip to the Opera Populaire every season.

Though you could not go every time, though you wish you wished you could, you would soak up every moment when you were inside its casted walls; Dancing along the polished floors with Kou as you both laughed and pretended to be the leading roles in your own opera on the stairs. His Mother and elder Brother would always scold you two for not acting your class, for not showing the restraint and regality of the upper class citizens of Europe. To which they always received a giggle and apology before you two rushed off to your private box for the show.

Even if some your age called it boring, you had always been entranced by Opera. You knew you wanted to be on that stage, singing and dancing and performing, even at your father’s slight distaste of your choice. It was the only option, and you would accept nothing less than to be performing on the grand stage of the Opera Populaire.

And even after it’s burning, that desire shifted to wanting to perform on the Lotus Populaire.

Kou always entertained your lofty dreams, sitting at the piano in your family’s parlor room, to keep you company after your tutoring sessions; He would play the scale of your voice through the piano keys, slowly increasing before decreased once more, before performing a song for you to sing along to. It was always enchanting, at least for the skill of little children, no older than 12 years of age. Maids and Butlers would often stop to listen, occasionally would Kou’s brother sit in on the performance and give a solid clap when the two of you finished, compliments flooding out of his mouth.

The encouragement, much to your father’s ire, always convinced you to move forward and as such, what pushed you to audition at the Lotus Populaire for its next season of Hannibal—an opera about composed by Chalumeau about the return of carthaginian troops from fighting against roman soldiers; an opera that had been creating heavy traction and buzz, making global press. This, you were confident, would be the true start of your career in the Opera industry, not as a ballerina yet as a lead; Or, at least, you were shooting for ensemble at the minimum. You needed to get out of the local Opera theaters of London, where you have been performing since you were able to at the young age of 16; You were almost 22 now!

“Just to be clear,” Your father started, watching as the carriage pulled into the cobbled driveway; A white stallion and its driver greeting your father, Kou, and you. “It’ll be alright if you do not land a role, I’ll still be proud of you no matter what.” You could hear the heistance in his voice as his hand took yours, his thumb brushing over the back of your hand in reassurance. A worrier, that’s what your Father always had been; Since the moment you were born.

You couldn’t help but laugh softly, watching as Kou moved around you both to speak to the driver of the carriage, “Father, I will be fine, I promise! Kou is coming with me, I’m more than prepared and I’ve been practicing since the news came out.” You would try and reassure your own father, though watching as his eyebrows frowned up either way, “I’ll be home in three days time!”

“I know, I know,” The heavy sigh left his lips, and you were sure all the oxygen had left his lungs too. There was a hesitation as his lips tugged to the sides, “I just wish I could be there with you; It is quite a long journey and your first time auditioning outside of the country. . . are you sure you don’t need me there? I can send a letter quickly to my work, surely they’ll understand the circumstances-”

“You worry more than there is need!” Another soft laughter fluttered out of your lips; You wouldn’t realize the way Kou would smile softly at the sound from behind your back. “Kou and I will be perfectly fine, now please, I’ll be late if you don’t let me go!”

You saw the way his lips would tremble a little, the hardship of letting his child go, seeming too much to bear, even for him. And though it pained you to see your Father so upset at your departure, all the comfort you could give him in aid was one last, tight hug before you had to pull away. Hands firmly on the sides of his arm, you would bow your head lightly as he pecked a kiss on the top of your head.

“Don’t come home unless you score big.” He would joke, one last time, as your hands fell from his shoulders. You would scrunch your nose at his comment, your lips wobbling with laughter as you playfully slapped his shoulder before departing for the carriage with a shake of your head; Meeting Kou, who would bow with just as much grace and teasement, as he opened the carriage door to let you in first before he joined you, sitting right by your side.

There was no more going back once the carriage door closed and the horse hooves began to clack on the cobblestone pavement, rolling the carriage effortlessly as it was majestically. You were sure tears sprang from your fathers eyes, as if it wasn’t for his job he would be joining Kou and you now on the cross-ocean trip to France. It’ll surely be a long journey, even longer without your Father to keep you entertained, yet you had Kou, and dare say, he was even better company! Funny, charming, and a little witty, he both was able to keep up with you and accept the high education you possessed, no matter the difference in gender.

“You’re awfully quiet.” The comment came out as teasing as you poked Kou’s side, his suit matching the color of his clan and complementing the color of his eyes; A nice blue, an attractive color, most would say. He would be more popular with the ladies if it wasn’t for his brother stealing the show.

Kou would hum, crossing his arms and leaning back against the plush seating, “Just thinking.” Was his bland answer.

“That’s new.” Came the snicker that followed from you.

At least, thankfully, it had caught Kou’s attention as he glanced over towards you rather quickly; Seeming ready to defend himself, though the words left his lips before they even managed to bubble as soon as he saw your snicker. “Very amusing, Lottie.”

Lottie, a nickname. The nickname Kou had decided would be yours since that day you met at his home, during a lavish house welcoming party. He said it suited you, you never understood why but accepted the nickname after countless tries of rebuking it.

“It’s true! You never think.” You teased, poking his side once more and causing him to yelp. The oh-so professional Viscount in public was reduced to scrambling away from you in the carriage bound for the southernmost port in all of the United Kingdom! It was fairly amusing.

“Stop that!” Kou flushed as you would turn to him, daring to poke at his side once more. “You know I’m ticklish there! Don’t even start-”

Though he would only yelp once more, making a grave effort to curl away from your finger as you dared it closer, “Then tell me what’s the matter! You’re usually so talkative, Viscount, now you’re nothing but stoic silence. It does not fit you at all! Are you concerned about little old me?” You would tease and playfully gush, though knew it was most likely the truth. Kou had always been rather easy to read.

“I’m just concerned, that's all!” He would exclaim, jumping to the seats parallel to yours on the opposite side of the carriage. It drew you to stopping your attacks on his sides, for now.

“Concerned about what? The admirers I’m going to receive after becoming a lead?” The words slipped out of your mouth, a dramatic flare being added to the end to show you weren’t being serious. You didn’t expect to get the leading role on your first show in the Lotus Populaire, you were smart to know that much. Though Kou would playfully roll his eyes, giving you an unamused “ha-ha”, before shaking his head.

“I’m simply concerned about your safety and the travel! I mean, what if the boat sinks or we run into any of those weird French ghosts? It would be no place for you-” Kou would start, gesturing with his hands as though this would cause a muck in the plans you had ‘oh-so carefully’ laid out the night. You would cut Kou off, though, pressing a finger firmly against his lips, “Then you’ll protect me, simple!” Your words came off with such confidence in Kou, that he couldn’t help but flush a little at the suddenness of your comment. His light blue eyes were stuck to yours, “Whatever comes, Kou, as long as I have you by my side, I’m sure everything will be alright. Besides your brother and my father, you’re the strongest man, or even Viscount, I know. . . and it’s highly unlikely that the boat will sink! So, relax a little, alright? Let’s enjoy this!” And though he was hesitant to respond, especially since your father had placed him in charge of your well being as well . . . as well as making sure you didn’t spend all of your money in France on meaningless items, he would nod; Something akin to pride swelling in his chest. If you believed in him, and if your father did as well, then surely he could keep you out of harm's way, no matter the danger. And to his response, he watched as you sat yourself back down, leaning against the plush cushions of the carriage. Your gaze shifted from him to outside the window of the carriage, your eyes glimmering in the sun that basked inside. Hope, something like that at least, for a better future, shined in your eyes; And that’s all Kou needed to relax himself. His body sank down into his cushioned seat, his eyes lingering on you for a second longer before they were also pulled to the window. The rolling hills of the Kingdom’s countryside were always beautiful, though, to Kou, you were more of a sight than anything nature could provide.

Teru. Out of all people that you fell for. You fell for Teru, you fell too hard that when you try to get up and over him, it hurt, like a thousand lighting volts going through god it hurt.

"I'm sorry, [F/N].. But I don't feel the same.."

'W-what?..'

You stood watching as Teru gave you one last glance as he apologized giving you back your home made chocolates for him. I mean, the least he could do was keep it. You worked all week to master making those.

Teru walked away from you. Once he was out of your field of vision you dropped to your knees as your bag strap slid off your shoulder

"Why would you get my hopes up if you don't even like me back?.." Sobbing quietly, you brought your knees up to your face as you cried quietly.

What a great way to start your summer break.

After you've calmed yourself down, you fixed yourself up as you slowly made your way to the back gate.

Hearing the gate squeak as open it, you looked up to the sunset hues as you let the afternoon wind kiss your skin.

"Right. I can't let him make me so moppy and sad the whole summer break, I'll be one of those bad ass koreans after break up I see on my K-dramas!" You cheered cheering yourself up

"Right.. Right, this rejection is just an experience.. O can find someone better.." You mumbled as you walked home

4 months of summer break passed and let's just say, you look WAY different than you did before. Not that I'm saying that you should change yourself for the guy you like, just be yourself.

"Soooo.. How was summer break Teru?" Breaking the akward silence, well you didn't know if it was akward for Teru but for you it was at your throat already

"Mmm.. It was alright, went swimming and traveling a little, over all it was quite the fun summer break, how about you, how was summer break for you?" You sat down on the benched as you looked in a distance your eyes landing on the very spot where you confessed, and got rejected, you cringed a little.

"Well.. It was fine I guess, I did some things I wasn't too confident to do.. Like trying something new or improving something of myself, overall I'd say I spent those 4 months pretty good" You moved your head to face him to see he has now sat beside you. Sat a little too close.

Teru rested his arms on his legs as he looked at the ground "During those 4 months.. I was thinking of your confession."

'Ah shit.'

Teru nervously turned to you, he wanted to say something else but Yashiro walked around the corner

"Ah! Sorry Minamoto-Senpai but class are starting and I need [F/N]" Yashiro said trying not to stutter, You stood up and streched your arms up "Alrighty, see you later Teru" You let Yashiro drag you off to steam off after seeing her puppy crush.

Teru sat in silence as he sighed heavily leaning his head back

"I should've said that I liked you back.."

Back there, you could see the regret in his eyes. Not only in his eyes, but the way he talked and acted around you.

Something about that made it look like an achievement for you. Seeing the guy who rejected you and regret doing such things. He was now the one that felt the One-sided love.

It seemed somehow.. pleasant.

Brutal Reject

"How many times do I have to explain and show you that I am not interested in you, the countless of times you stuffed my locker and desks with gifts. Its annoying. " Akane said as he slightly shoved your gift bag in your hands making you stumble a little. "Everyone knows my love and attraction towards Aoi-chan, and I sure hope your head could be less thick to understand that."

You stood silent as your hair covered your teary eyes, Akane walked pass you probably to go to Aoi to confess his love.

Isn't what your doing also his doings? continously confessing to Aoi until she accepts his confession? annoying he says. You also hoped he could be less thick headed to also see or maybe know if Aoi is also annoyed by the confessions.

You wiped your teary eyes and stomped to the nearest garbage can to shove your gift down the trash "T-this.. was dumb.. I knew he wouldn't like me back.."

Your bad luck was rocketing sky high this past week, but of course this bad luck can't always stay with you forever. Good karma will come.

A few weeks after your 'confession' to Akane. Aoi called you and Yashiro by the canteen to tell you both something important.

"W-WOW Aoi-chan I didn't know you took a liking to Hiroshi-senpai" You and Yashiros mouth agape as Aoi hugged Hiroshi's arm "Mhm! Akiro and I have been exchanging letters for awhile now, so we decided to talk and now here we are~" Aoi giggled as Akiro lovingly holds her hand

"wahhh~ I'm so jealous~" Yashiro says as she cups her cheeks

"Dont worry Nene-chan! someone will definitely ask you out! oh and you too [F/N]~"

"Pshhh... Nah I don't think so"

You saw a bit of red off the corner of your eye. Without being obvious you moved your eyes to the side to see Akane with clenched fists as his head was hung low

'He just can't get enough of her now can he'

"Ah! Akane-kun! meet Akiro, my boyfriend~" You and Yashiro turned to look at him as he forced a smile and shook his hand "Ah, you must be Aoi Akane, I'm Hiroshi Akiro it's a pleasure to meet you"

"Sure is.."

"We should eat before the bell rings—"

"AH MY BENTO I LEFT IT IN THE CLASSROOM"

Surely, but slowly. You were getting over Akane day by day, you even got yourself a little glow up. Not too much just a few changes with yourself to satisfy this generations preferred aesthetics.

Also, you are taking interest in someone else. Someone who ACTUALLY acknowledged your existence and appreciated your presence. You have been talking to this 2nd year that recently joined the gardening club. And let's just say THEY treat you much better.

Just as Aoi predicted, someone did end up asking you out and you were just over the moon.

"Akane. Can I help you?" You looked up from your phone as Akane stood infront of you in the empty halls.

He looked down as he rubbed the back of his neck. He slowly brought something out from behind him. It was a box of chocolates

"This.. Is for you.. Believe it or not, I finally moved on from Aoi seeing how happy she is.. And these past few days you have been catching my attention lately.. I always find myself looking for you or hoping I'd see the slightest glimpse of you in the crowd.. But I know you wouldn't accept these because—"

"That's right, I won't."

Akane stopped in his tracks as he looks at you. The same ANNOYED look HE gave you when you confessed to him.

"If you knew I wouldn't accept, why would you still go out of your way to give me these?"

Silence

"I have finally moved on from you. Aoi Akane. And I don't think I have the slightest attraction towards you anymore.. You had your chance. But you blew it. I've changed for the better, now if you excuse me." You walked around him stopping beside him

"Someone, has asked me out. Someone, who actually appreciates my efforts to let them know im interested in them. Wether they don't like me the same way I do, They still made the effort to make sure my efforts and hard work don't go to waste."

As you walked off to change your shoes, Akane slowly turned around to see you and that 'someone' you were talking about chatting happily. He watched as you two left school grounds hand in hand, with the most loving aura.

"That should've been me..." Akane says as his voice cracks a little, silently sobbing in the empty halls.

The rustling of trees or the light sounds of cars in the distance was all that the two of you heard as none of you exchanged anymore words

"Well.. That's fine.. Atleast I can move on easy right?" You 'joked' hoping you could make this less akward for him "I'll still be your friend, Hanako.. Some mere confession and you rejecting me isn't something that can instantly tear me down, it's just a phase. I can get over it."

'No you can't.'

"Your crying, [F/N].." Worried laced Hanako's voice as warm tears slid down your face. You immediately wiped it "Something just got into my eye, so weren't you just telling me 3 days ago that you liked someone? It's Yashiro isn't it ahhh I knew you had good eyes" Why would you say that? Please no more.. You didn't wanna hear it—

"Yeah.. Actually, I've liked her for awhile now.. She's very cute.. And very huggable too.."

Your heart broke into a million more pieces. I'm surprised you haven't broken down right there and then.

"A-ah.. Really? I'm sure she likes you too! I saw the way you and her interact, you two looked so cute~"

"Really? I'm planning on asking her on Friday.." Hanako's cheeks dusted in pink, as Yashiro is probably floating around his mind

"I just remembered.. I have to help my parents pack up for their trip back abroad! I might.. Visit or drop by during the 3 week break" You mustered up a smile. You didn't wanna hear anymore as soon as you heard him say his farewells, you immediately went out the back gate. When the school was nowhere near your sights. You ran. You ran as fast as you could, your backed up tears finally escaping

"I thought it would be me.." You hiccuped as you slowed down "I thought you liked me.." Desperately wiping your tears off as it keeps coming back.

"Why would you play with my feelings like that you jerk.."

Hanako hasn't seen you visit during the first week. Maybe you were just taking time off because of the.. Yeah..

Second week, Still no sign of you.. He was getting worried

He really needed to clear his mind.

The third week, you still haven't showed up.. He was getting quite lonely in the bathroom..

Finally, the 3 week break was finally over and he was FINALLY gonna see you again. It's not like he was that lonely.. Yashiro and Kou visited in between those breaks, and in between those breaks something happened.

You dread as you looked at the school gates. Walking up to the gate and opening it, a hand grabbed yours. Looking up it was Hanako. The very person you didn't wanna see at the moment.

"I knew I'd see you here..." He tried bringing you in for a hug but you avoided it "a-ah Hanako stop, I'm.. Sick.."

"And I can't get sick, you didn't visit me during those 3 weeks you know.. I was lonely~" He tried again but you rejected again

"Hanako.. I have to pass something important to Tsuchigomori-Sensei" Making up an excuse to avoid his affection

"I'll tag along! I need to meet with him anyway"

"Hanako please I just want to be alone!" Hanako went silent. He has never seen you get so angry. "[F/N].."

"Just.. Don't touch me.. Hanako.." He let go of your hand as you hugged yourself. "[F/N] your having a panick attack—"

"So, What have you been doing during the 3 week break."

You wanted to change the topic and not center your outburst towards him earlier.

"About that, I.. Finally confessed to Yashiro.." Really.. You're gonna get your heart broken first thing in the morning. "And what did she say? Did she like you back?" Hanako was silent for a moment starring off into a distance, He shook his head no

"No.. She.. Didn't like me back." Hanako mumbled, but you heard it too clear. "She said she took a liking to someone else. But I don't get it.. The kisses on the cheek and the hugging.."

"Did she just play with my feelings?.."

"So you finally know how it feels." That jabbed Hanako with guilt. Looking back at what he did, it was the same on what Yashiro did to him

Both of you got your feelings played

You handed him a neatly folded piece of paper. "Here.. I planned to show you three this together but I guess since the air between you and Yashiro might be too tense, I'll show you first" giving Hanako the paper, he unfolded it reading the contents inside

and just like that, his whole world just dropped immediately.

"Your... Your moving to the States?.." His voice cracked

"Yeah. My parents were frequently traveling in and out of the country because their work was really doing great, they didn't want me to get used to only seeing them once or twice a month." grabbing the paper back putting it inside your bag

Hanako didn't want you to go. But he couldn't be selfish because of his own needs. You were his first friend, BEST friend.. Supposedly first lover too, but who were you to imagine that?

"I should get going.. I have to show this to Tsuchigomori-Sensei.." Walking past him he grabbed your hand, facing him, he was about to cry his whole heart out "C-can we atleast spend time before you leave?.."

Gently removing his grip around your hands "I can't Hanako.. This is my final day here in Japan.. The reason I couldn't visit you during the 3 week break was because I was packing.. and well.."

"Moving on from you."

Hanako finally let you go, you took one last glance at him before going up the faculty room and giving your letter to your adviser, letting him know that you will no longer be a student at Kamome Academy.

As for Hanako.. He didn't take this news very well. He broke down crying, I mean who wouldn't? Imagine if you were a ghost and your very special someone moves to somewhere else with no form of communication

'Special Someone..'

Hanako gasped for air as his eyes were now puffy and was leaking warm tears, He sat down on the ground as he hugged himself

"I regret.. Everything that I've done to you.. Everything.. Is this karma for the things I've done to you?.. " Wiping his tears

"I should've loved you back.."

Amane

Amane was always your go-to guy when it came to the stars. You would walk into class and he would be up and ready for a new fact to tell you. It was amazing, really; how he was able to come in with a different fact each day, never repeating himself. He never failed to put a smile on your face with his facts. Some might find it annoying, but not you. Oh, you could never.

You had an interest in the stars yourself! You knew some if not most of the facts he told you, but you’d ask questions and talk further more on the topic so that he could enjoy the conversation. It made your heart swell whenever his eyes lit up at a question, ready to answer it with full detail. For someone who got bullied a lot and had issues, he seemed to always have the brightest face in the room when talking to you.

One day, you found out something about space that Amane hadn’t yet told you about. It made you smile widely at the thought of his expression when you tell him something about his favorite topic that he didn’t know about. How his eyes would widen and he would have his full attention you, wanting…no…needing answers for it.

The thought had you up all night. You lay in bed, smiling to yourself. You even had a dream about it, that’s how excited you were!

The next day, you got dressed as fast you you could without forgetting anything important, ie. your textbooks, homework, pencil pouch, lunch bag. You put everything you needed for the day in your backpack and left for school.

Amane was at his desk, fidgeting with his pencil with a blank look on his face. He had more bandages on his arms than he did yesterday…

“Ohaiyō!” You cheerfully greeted Amane, startling him from his trance. He looked up in shock but also relief that you were here. He smiled and said, “Ohaiyō~ How’s my (Name) doing today, hm~?” He said in a teasing tone.

You smile brightly and say, “Great, actually! Hey, guess what?” He opened his mouth to say ‘what’ but you quickly cut him off. “I have a fact for you! About the stars!” This caused Amane’s eyes to light up and he immediately turned to face you.

“Did you know that sunsets in Mars are blue?”

He looked complete shocked. “Really? That so cool! I’m assuming it’s the atmosphere, right? The atmosphere that makes it blue?” You nod your head with a smile and continue to tell him facts, either that he knew or he didn’t. Either way, he was surprised but absolutely amazed that you knew all about his favorite subject.

He probably knew this but I didn’t so I’m using it stfu-

You basically spent the whole day talking to each other, engaging in each other’s conversation and asking questions whenever there anything either of you were curious about. You had so much fun that day, you even forgot about how his bandages got more loose at the day went on. But it was a good day…right?

That’s when you remembered something…Not all god things last..and before you knew it, you were the only one gazing at the stars..

“That’s so embarrassing, if that were me I would kill myself no doubt! Being so stupid like that, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself!” You casually said while looking at a post on your phone.

“O-oh… umm…” Kou is at a loss for words sometimes and tries to brush it off by moving onto something happier to distract you from thoughts like those

When you make a joke that’s one day too far he genuinely seems so much more concerned and ask if you’re okay. He gets so worried about you that it’s best not to make jokes like that near him.

If you don’t show up the next day, he gets worried and is immediately trying to leave school early even though he knows Teru will berate him later for it, he needs to see you’re okay and when he arrives to your house and sees you are, he’s very serious about not making jokes like those again and is invites you to his house more often to distract yourself and is willing to help you get help

Teru Minamoto

Gives you a nervous smile when you joke about suicide and even when you you’re dating he still gives you an obvious fake smile to not hurt your feelings. He knows that outright saying that if you need someone talk to talk to can be annoying sometimes so he’ll try to subtly let you know he’s there

Whether it’s from talking about a topic of a documentary of a tragic life of some celebrity and all they needed help to having Kou telk you that you’re part of the family and that you can tell them anything when you’re over at their house

“I can’t stop messing this up! God I really should’ve taken those pills when I had the chance, what the hell!” You said angrily at the fact you couldn’t get the string through the small hole in the needle.

Teru could only smile at you, he never says anything to your ‘jokes’, but then he stops and just goes to frowning hoping that you’re not being serious

When you don’t show up the next day, he’s not super worried and just assumes you’re late but sends you messages. But after a few hours the messages become more frequent and by the end of the school day he’s running to your house scared. When he sees you’re alright, he’s pissed and says enough is enough and he’s not taking anymore jokes and is instead going to help you

Hanako

He might laugh at your jokes, but it’s only so he doesn’t worry you. He’s not an unfamiliar when it comes to stuff like this and he knows you might now want to talk about it right away so he’s fine with trying to take it slow

On the inside though, his ghostly heart is scared that you’re it joking and you’re actually being serious. He can’t bear the thought of you dying—and especially dying this way so he keeps a close eye on you and has Kou and Yashiro even make sure that you’re doing okay

“God, I’m so stupid and useless” you say with a laugh as you look at your test result and shove the paper back in your bag

Hanako stares at you, and lets out a laugh that’s believe enough. He’s conflicted on what he should do, should he ask how you’re doing? What if you lie to him? Would you even want to talk to him?

It seems as if his worries have come true when you didn’t show up to school the next day and asks if Yashiro or Kou have seen you at all and to message you on those weird electronic things. Yashiro only agrees to go to your house when Hanako asked because she too was worried about you. Hanako waits impatiently the next day and sees you and you tell him you were just feeling sick. If he could, then Hanako would definitely cry and basically forces you to promise to tell him if anything is wrong with a scared and worried expression on his face

Akane Aoi

You’re the most precious person in his life so he takes everything very serious when it comes to you. A paper cut? He’s getting ready to call an ambulance for you and is frantically asking you if you’re okay.

So joking about such topics near him immediately alarms him and hea on full protective mode with asking if you’re joking or not. He takes everything you say seriously, he cares about you a lot so to see you laugh about it, hurts him a little

“What if I jump out this window right now? I really do want to do this test!” You whined and looked over at the window that was right next to where you were sitting.

Akane had a prominent frown on his face, he knew you weren’t exactly mentally okay and you’re jokes were becoming more and more frequent

He’s on full panic mode when you don’t show up to school the next day and the worst possible outcomes are immediately coming to mind. happy late tanabata everyone i just found out it was celebrated on july 7 and i was devastated 😭

summary: amane yugi has been courting [name] [surname] two months and a half after he became her suitor. during the tanabata festival where all wishes can be fulfilled by writing upon the tags, unbeknownst to him that his wish of [name] saying yes to him can come later

everyone seems to rely on luck to see if your crush likes you back, some might even do voodoo magic to make them fall in love with you and if they don't then that's basically it.

why not try courting? seems like a waste of time you might say, why bother making someone fall in love with you for a long period of time because of your impatient nature wanting them to say yes immediately?

if you truly love someone, you'll exert the effort of showing how serious you are to loving them, let them know that you are willing to fulfill this relationship with you and when they said yes—that's where you know that you succeeded.

amane yugi wonders how long does it truly take for someone to fall in love. he has been courting [name] for two months yet he feels like he hasn't made any progress. all those times that he made her blush and giggle, maybe it wasn't enough.

so amane is going to try harder from now on.

it was the night of the tanabata festival, also known as the star festival, amane was wearing a simple yukata, waiting in front of the entrance of the festival which is nearby his house.

he asked [name] if she would like to spend some time together in the festival, she was really happy when she was asked out on a date—in which he does multiple times because it's part of the courting culture. but amane was more happy that [name] is going to join him.

"amane-kun! sorry i'm late!" amane glanced up and saw [name] wearing a cute yukata with simple patterns with an ornament attached to her hair. amane's cheeks grew red at the sight of [name], he could only gape at her. "um, amane-kun?"

"a-ah!" amane blinked in surprise. "s-sorry, i kind of spaced out." he blushed further while twiddling with his fingers. "you look so pretty..."

[name] giggled, a blush spreading upon her cheeks. "thank you, you look nice as well." she smiled.

amane held out his hand and tilted his head slightly to her direction. "let's go," he said as [name] grabbed his hand. "we should hold hands or else we might be split apart from the crowd."

amane's cheeks grew red just by simply holding her hand, leading her through the crowd so they won't get lost—yet [name] thought they were lost in a fleeting moment under orange and yellow lights.

a smile curled up on [name]'s lips, her heart skipping a beat at the way amane's fingers fit between the gaps of her fingers. his hand was warm with a gentle yet strong grip.

"[name]? is there something wrong?" amane couldn't help but ask as to why [name] was silent throughout their little stroll.

"o-oh! i couldn't help but to admire the festival that's all." [name] smiled sheepishly as she looked down on their hands.

amane grinned at [name]. "same." even though he was admiring her. both of them visited some food stalls and bought some strawberry crepes, which [name] liked to eat as a snack.

"their crepes tastes so good everytime i go here." [name] fawned after taking a bite of her crepe. she lifted her crepe to hand it over to amane for him to take a bite. he leaned in to receive the offer but [name] smirked as she teasingly moved the crepe away from him and took a bite instead. "mmm... so sweet..."

amane's noticed that [name] had some whip cream on her lips. an idea entered his mind which made him smile. "here, try one." [name] held out her crepe towards him once again.

he leaned in and swiftly kissed the side of her lips on where the whip cream is before he took a bite on the crepe, leaving [name] standing there with a blush on her face. "you're right, it tastes good." amane smirked while slightly licking his lips.

"you're such a tease." [name] blushed as she slightly pushed him to the side playfully.

"you're a tease too, i couldn't help it, you're adorable." amane gave her a closed-eye smile before biting his own crepe. the rest of the night was them trying to collect tags or what they call a tanzaku from different stalls that they pass by.

they say that if you collect six of them, your wish will definitely come true. "we only have three tags for the two of us." [name] sighed in defeat. "i swear they're probably greedy with the tags."

"now now, well we can't help it if we only received three tags for the two of us..." amane dotingly told [name], since only one of them could really make their wish come true. "let's just write down our wishes and hang them by the bamboo tree. the fireworks will be starting soon."

[name] stared at the three tags on her hands, then glancing at amane. she smiled at his determination of wanting to make one of his wishes come true. and this boy standing right in front of her, she doesn't need to wish for anything anymore.

"amane-kun," [name] handed him the rest of her tags. "you can have the rest of my tags." she said. amane was confused as to why [name] is giving him her tags when she earned it herself.

"but what about your wish?"

[name] smiled sweetly at amane which made his heart skipped a beat. "and i have you." she answered. "so take them, we don't know if the rumors are true anyways but it won't hurt for you to try out."

amane's eyes sparkled in astonishment, then he took the tags from [name]'s hands. he thought hard enough on what to wish for, something that he wanted to come true.

'i hope you say yes to me.'

amane finished in a minute as he tied the tags together. [name] couldn't help but to be curious as to what amane had wished for. "so what's your wish?" [name] asked while glancing at his sides to try to get a glimpse of his tag.

amane turned around as he placed a finger on his lips. "shhh..." he shushed with a smile. [name]'s cheeks grew red at the sudden action, maybe amane's wish is a secret so she won't pry to it further.

after he attached his tag to the bamboo tree, amane took her hand and led her to one of the spaces in the area so they could see the fireworks together. "i can't wait to see the fireworks." amane excitedly said.

"me too." [name] nodded in agreement. the fireworks are the best part in the tanabata festival. she was glad she could spend it with amane—then this is definitely the best part for the two of them.

a striking display of light appear amongst the night sky, followed by a loud sound. fireworks continued to rise and explode, spreading different bright colors across the scenery. "[name], look at the fireworks! isn't it pretty?" amane slightly raised his voice because of the booming sounds of the fireworks, then he linked their pinky fingers together, then subtly holding her hand by intertwining their fingers together.

[name] had an epiphany realizing the things amane did for her; the meaningful soft kisses, their fingers intertwining when their hands simply touched, the loving gazes, the home in his arms and the whispers of sweet nothings.

it may seem like amane's simple ways of showing love to [name], but to her, it was worth a whole universe.

[name] moved closer to plant a soft kiss on amane's cheek, then she opened her mouth to speak.

"yes."

amane tilted his head to the side in confusion, he comprehended this as [name] agreed that the fireworks looked pretty but she meant something else. "yes?" he questioned.

"yes." [name] repeated with a blush on her face. she squeezed his hand while looking into his amber eyes. "i'm saying yes to you." she corrected. amane couldn't believe what he just heard, it's like the sounds of the fireworks fading just by that answer.

"does that mean..." amane bit his lip in excitement. "you're my girlfriend now?" he asked as his eyes sparkled like stars. [name] nodded her head with a big smile on her face. "oh my gosh—i'm so glad!" he grinned while pulling her into an embrace.

"i can't believe it... you're now my girlfriend." tears started to appear from the corners of his eyes. "i love you. i love love love you so much..." amane whispered, his arms wrapping around her securely and burying his face on the crook of her neck.

"i love you too." [name] said with a soft whisper. amane pulled away from the hug as he looked at her in a loving gaze, his eyes glanced at her lips, then at her eyes with a tint of pink on his cheeks. he placed his hand on her cheek as the strands of her hair tangled through his fingers, then his other hand was still holding on to hers.

amane slowly leaned in to [name], stepping closer while tilting his head to aim for her lips as their eyes closed.

and then he giving her a soft kiss on her lips.

"so what did you wish for, amane?" [name] asked as she and amane were walking home after the festival ended. they were still holding hands, swaying them a bit while doing so.

amane couldn't help but to chuckle, it's too coincidental, maybe the rumors about having six tags and wishing on them turned out to be real—but in reality, it's on you and it's still you who can make your wishes come true.

and it is guaranteed, it is not a work of a supernatural.

"i wished that you'd say yes to me," amane sheepishly giggled while scratching his choppy locks. "i know it's corny but hey, it worked out in the end."

[name] shook her head with a chuckle escaping from her lips. "oh amane, i planned to answer you in this festival—i guess you can say is that i made your wish come true."

"and i thank you for that, dear." amane said as he reached to give [name] a kiss on the cheek.

The cold night air blew on your face softly as you smiled. You held onto Amane’s hand tighter, wanting to be closer to him and his body heat. You were currently on a walk with Amane. He wanted to take you on a walk around the village after your guys both got off work.

“Are you cold?” He had a bit of a plain expression on his face.

“Oh… just a bit” You muttered.

“Here” he took off his coat, putting it around your shoulders.

“Amane, you don’t need to give me your coat-“

“I insist, I am the one who brought you out here on this cold night.” He said and looked back up at the stars.

“Do you like the stars?”

“I do… very much..” he had a soft smile on his face. Amane has always been a serious person so seeing him like this made you blush a bit.

“You can see the Big Dipper over there, and Leo the lion there, oh and there’s Hercules!” He said in a rather exciting tone, catching you off guard a bit. He rarely showed this side of him, letting loose because of these stars in the sky. It made you happy to see him like this.

“Isn’t it beautiful…” he finally turned to you

“It is… I didn’t know you liked the stars, Amane” You leaned in closer to him “why didn’t you tell me sooner?? I would have loved to know that you like the stars!”

Amane only laughed at your actions, his laughter making your heart pound.

“Why don’t we go back to the castle, yeah?” He takes your hand and starts heading back with you, completely ignoring your question “I don’t want you catching a cold now, love~”

“You did, thank you, Yashiro!” You smiled, happy she is helping with your nursery. “I am very grateful you came to work here”

“Thank you for hiring me!!” She walked over to you to see you were doing boring paperwork.

“Do you really want to do paperwork…?” She asked you and raised a brow

“Well, I have to do this paperwork, it’s important” You chucked

“Can we cuddle~?” She hugged you tightly, sitting on your lap.

“Ah- w-well after i finish this, okay?” Your cheeks turned pink as you hugged her back.

“Okay I’ll wait!” She didn’t let go of you, still hugging you tightly. You laid your head on your shoulder, surprisingly still able to do your work like this.

You could feel her warmth warming you up, feeling yourself getting sleepy in her arms. It was late so sleep wouldn’t be a bad idea.

“Okay.. we can cuddle now” You said and stood up. Before you could say anything else, the monster tackled you onto the bed with a happy smile. She snuggled into your chest, happy to be able to hold you like this.

“Yay!!! I get to cuddle the love of my life~” she smiled and you stroked her hair, slowing your eyes to sleep.

“Sleep well, my darling monster”

- Kou was a very determined researcher

- He wanted the best for his monsters and you always admired that

- Little did you know, he had called for you

- When he asked you out, it shocked you and you gladly went out with him

- He was so sweet and caring, he just wanted your happiness

- He promised to take good care of you, taking you out on dates often

- He often talked to the monster mokke about you, flushed by every word he is saying

- The mokke will probably tell you about his constant ranting around how much he loves you

- If you tell Kou that the mokke told you he will be flushed out of his mind-

- He will ask the mokke for date ideas for you as well

- He wants every date to be prefect

- He will take you to any place you want to go

- Anywhere you want! Just ask him to take you there!!

- Kou will often walk home with you after a shift

- He wants to make sure you get home safety

- Yes, he is worried about you

- He will also want to pick you up in the morning as well to walk you to work

- He just wants to spend extra time with you-

- If you ever stay with him while he's on his shift, he will try and impress you

- He will do an entire work out routine with his mokke and show you what he taught the mokke

- If you compliment him he will be so happy

- This boy just wants to show you he will be an amazing boyfriend for you!!

“Y/n! Y/n!” You heard the Mokke’s voice, turning to see him using one of his ears to tap the back of your leg.

“Hey mokke! Where is Kou?” You were confused why his caregiver wasn’t here

“He’s busy right now, but about him… I have something to tell you!”

You had a bad feeling about this but you weren’t going to say no. You wanted to hear what the mokke was going to say.

“Alright, what is it..?” You asked nervously.

“Minamoto loves you very much and he can’t stop talking about you! All he does is talk about you!! He’s quite a whiny baby, he kept pouting that you two didn’t kiss on your date last night! He wanted to, but he got chicken!!” The mokke confessed to you and your cheeks went pink.

“He what?!” You were flushed, not expecting him to say anything like this. He talks about you often?

“MOKKE DONT-!!” Kou finally came running into the room, his jaw dropping seeing his monster with you.

“Bye bye!!” The mokke walks out of the room, proud of what he has done.

“What did that rabbit say?!?” Kou asked, worried.

“Oh he just told me that you talk about me all the time…” you smiled and his his face turned red “And that you wanted to kiss me last night?” You questioned as you walked closer to him

“H-he told you that?!” He muttered. “I did… I should have but I just got embarrassed…” He rubbed the back of his neck with his hand, looking down.

“Aw, Kou…” You cupped his cheek and kissed his lips softly, soon breaking away. “If you wanted a kiss you should have just asked!”

His entire face went red, not expecting that. He kissed you before but he wasn’t prepared for this one.

“Now, you should get back to work! Your monster is still on the run, you know!” Your words snapped Kou back into reality.

“Y-you’re right!” He stood up running out of the room “Kiss you later- I MEAN SEE YOU LATER!!”

- Teru is a well known monster in the nursery

- He grew up so well and is very strong

- Now he came back to visit the nursery to see someone else was now running it

- He grew quite fond of you, wanting to stay longer then he was supposed to

- He asked for a tour to see how the building was updated from when he grew up here

- He asked so many questions as well but he just wants to spend more time with you

- He left in the morning but came back early the next night

- He watched you as you did work

- This became a normal thing for him to do

- He likes to tease you

- He knows no personal space so he will get in your business

- You fell for him just as hard as he fell for you and he soon confessed to you

- When you two became a thing, somehow Teru became more cling with you

- He doesn’t get a shit if people talk

- He is very protective

- He knows you are merely a human and he is a monster, you need protection

- He is by your side if he feels like a situation is dangerous

- He will glare anyone down who looks at you wrong

- And whoever messes with you will get a beating by Teru

- He is a very powerful monster

- He will pull you closer to him by your waist when he wants to be closer to you

- He will wrap his wings around you while you two cuddle

- He will take you on very ancy dates

- He might be a monster but he is a gentleman

- He just wants you to be safe

- He adores you more than anything

A knocking came from your office window and you turned to see the grown monster flying in the air in front of your window. He waved to you when you noticed him. He flew to the top of the castle, knowing that he wouldn’t be stopped by any of the researchers this way.

“Teru? What are you doing here?” You asked him and opened the window. He sat down on the windowsill, taking in the smell of fire from the floating, ghost-like mokkes.

“I just wanted to see the love of my life~” He wrapped his arms around your neck causing your cheeks to turn red.

“Teru… I need to work!” You protested as you pushed him away. He found, patting slightly.

“Fine…”

You sat down and continued your work and he just watched you from behind. After a few minutes, you felt him take your hair in his hands. This made you room up at him but he only made you look back down.

“Stay still and I will put braids in your hair…~” He said as he started his first braid. You felt your heart beating inside your chest, flushed by this touch. You could hardly work like this.

Teru was just too distracting for you

- Tsukasa has been knows to be the most chaotic researcher

- He is very determined but he can be quite childish

- So when he fell for you, he knew he was going to have you

- One way or another

- But you actually loved him back!!

- He doesn’t need to send Yashiro on you-

- He adores you!! You mean more to him than his work!

- He will ditch his work and force Natsuhiko to watch his monster if he needs too

- He will spend all his free time with you as well

- He loves being with you

- He will often ask to stay at your house, wanting to cuddle you to sleep

- He just wants to be with you-

- He tells you all about the monsters he is raising

- He tells you how he wants to slaughter the village with them-

- It’s a joke! Don’t worry!

- Hopefully-

- He loves to tease you and see your reaction

- Especially after he’s used Yashiro to burn down the cafeteria, it’s his way at apologizing-

- He will give you lots of gifts when he’s done something wrong

- He would hate if you were mad at him

- He just wants you love because he loves you

You were in your office doing your work when you started to smell the smell of smoke. You brushed it off but soon heard a loud knock on your door.

“O-oh… one moment!” You stood up and walked to the door to see Sakura looking franic.

“One of the research rooms… it’s on fire!” She informed you and your eyes widened. She grabbed your arm and took you downstairs. She brought you closer to the smell of smoke. You heard a familiar giggle and knew who was behind this.

You soon saw Kou spraying water on the fire and Amane scolding his brother.

“You can’t just let Yashiro burn down a room to get her to stop crying!!” Amane held the back of Mitsuba’s head to comfort the little monster.

“She wanted too!!” Tsukasa whined. Sakura sighed and looked disappointed.

“We can cover these damages but he can’t keep letting his monster set fire to whatever they want.” Sakura started writing in her notebook.

“Alright, I’ll talk to him…” You walked toward the twins, letting out a cough to alert them of your presence.

“Manager!” Amane turned to you worried “I’m so sorry about the fire, Yashiro went on the loose and well…” He looked over to Kou who got the last of the fire out.

It’s alright, I’ll talk to them. You just take care of Mitsuba” You looked down to see the boy shaking in fear. Amane nodded and picked up his monster in his hands, comforting him as they left the room.

“Tsu, did you cause this?” You turned to him.

“Well, Yashiro is technically the one that did it” He giggled in amusement, finding your frustrated reaction funny.

“She can’t keep setting fires in the building… I need to find the money to pay for that, you know and I will have more work to do” You frowned and he realized what you are saying

“You don’t mean…”

“That’s less time to spend with you… and you don’t want that, do you?” He quickly shook his head, standing up.

“I want to spend more time with you!! I’ll make sure Yashiro doesn’t light anything on fire ever again!”

“Thank you, Tsu, I trust you to keep your word” You smiled softly

“You can trust me!” He hugged you tightly, kissing your cheek.

- Mitsuba grew up very well, Amane did raise him after all

- Behind all that cockiness, he is very book smart

- He will talk to you about serious matters and he will tell you things you didn’t even know

- Amane made sure his kids were very well learned so this didn’t come off as a surprise to you

- Still, he was very cocky

- He will gloat about himself and laugh at you if you mess up on something

- He isn’t interested in the nursery again but he will help around if you need him

- Might need to butter him up though

- People thought it was weird enough when a monster dated a human, but Mitsuba?? No one understood why he got your attention

- Because of this, Mitsuba might be a bit more possessive over you, not wanting to lose you

- He doesn’t want you to think he is a filthy monster who was taken out of the nursery

- He will be more ashamed of his monster form

- He wants to come off strong for you but he knows he isn’t

- He has small wings that he can’t even fly with and big ram horns on his head

- If you just kiss him and tell him how beautiful you think he is, that will make him feel so much better

- He lives on your attention and reassurance

- He enjoys going on small dates with you like to the park or sitting at a cafe

- He loves the tranquility and just loves to watch it for hours

- Once you show him what a camera is, his whole world is changed

- He has a tendency of wrapping his tail around your body when you two are cuddling or when he wants you to come closer to him

- It’s his way of getting your attention

- He uses his tail as another hand and is quite movable

- He enjoys spending time with you, even in silence

- Just something about your presence puts him at ease

You entered the big library of the nursery looking for a couple of books. You grabbed books that you thought could help you, holding them tightly in your hands. As you were looking for more, you saw your boyfriend sitting on top of the staircase in the library. Your heart fluttered seeing the way the light hit him from the big window, giving him a peaceful glow.

“Hey idiot, why are you staring?” He raised a brow and grinned “Are you just so in awe of how cute I look?” He scoffed. You sighed and went to go find your book rather than responding to his stupid question.

“Leaving so soon?” You looked behind you to see him close to your face. He just looked at you curiously, not bothered with how close you two were “What book are you looking for?”

“Oh well, I’m just looking for some books for research but I think I got all the books I need..”

“I see…” He took your hand in his and brought you down to sit with him on the floor. He smiled softly, rubbing your knuckles with his thumb.

“This library is very beautiful…” He said softly “I quite enjoy spending time in here, especially with you”

“I enjoy spending time with you too, Mitsuba..” You leaned your head on his shoulder.

“You know… there was this elderly couple, Philemon and Baucis, who loved each other so much, when the gods offered them a wish, they requested to die at the same time so they would never be apart. They were both turned into a tree that wrapped around each other to show that they will always be together, even in death…”

“That's beautiful…”

Mitsuba lifted your head softly and looked into your eyes, his eyes filled with love and adoration. You smiled and kissed him on the lips but quickly broke away, leaving him flushed.

“I love you, Mitsuba”

“Ha… I love you too, idiot..”

- She wanted to help you get settled into your new job the best she can

- She was very helpful, always attending to you like a good assistant

- You were very grateful for her help and she enjoyed being around you

- She invited you do go out with her after your guys shifts

- She is thrilled when you except and will bring you to the best places

- She is really good with date ideas

- Soon you two start dating

- And she is an amazing girlfriend

- She always took care of you and was an amazing assistant

- She will bring you your favorite drink, favorite food, anything to see you smile

- She always treated your the best she could

- She will wait until the end of your shift and walk you home

- Sometimes you two will get a bite to eat before you both go home

- She treats you, of course

- She isn’t that clingy of a person but she doesn’t mind small amount of affection like cuddling and hand holding

- She will actually find it quite cute if you ask for it

- Might tease you about it in her dry, dull way

- She surprisingly doesn’t think she comes off dull

- She thinks she’s rather funny

- If you ever mention it to her, she wouldn't be affected, just a bit shocked

- She loves to take you on dates and spend time with you

- She will plan ahead and treat you amazingly

- You are head over heels for her

- She shows her affection with quality time and acts of service

- Are you surprised, she is your assistant

You looked outside your office window and then to your clock. Your job for the day was about done. You organized your papers on your desk and grabbed your coat, heading down stairs to leave. You came face to face with the door of the nap room.

When you opened it, you saw Tsuchigomori reading a book and your beautiful girlfriend napping. You smiled seeing her peacefully sleeping, almost not wanting to wake her up. However, you knew that she would rather you wake her up then just leave her.

“Sakura…?” You walked over to her and shook her shoulder softly. “Wakey wakey..” You giggled seeing her move in her soft beanbag chair.

“Y/n…?” She opened her eyes softly. “Are you done with your shift already?”

“Yup, are you ready to go?” She nodded her head and stood up

“The healing monster music really tired me out… however, I’m ready to go” She took your hand in hers and exited the room.

You two left the castle, talking about your guys day and such. You two passed a candy store in the small village.

“Hey Y/n, look, it’s a candy shop…” Sakura looked in and saw a sweet she wanted you to try “Let me get you some candy, my treat”

“Sakura, you always buy me stuff… let me buy you something…” You sighed.

“No, I insist.” She didn’t hesitate to enter the store, going to the girl at the cash register.

“Can I have a box of rakugan?” She asked the cashier who nodded her head. Sakura paid for it and handed her the box. You two walked for a bit until you found a small bench to rest on.

“Here, take a bite” she took the hard candy out of the box and brought it close to your mouth.

“Oh… what is this?” Your cheeks turned pink

“It’s rakugan, its a dessert often served with tea… It’s my favorite dessert.” She smiled at you, patiently waiting for you to take a bite. You did, letting the sweet flavor fill your taste buds.

“How do you like it?”

“It’s good!”

“I’m glad to hear it, here…” she placed the box on your lap “for you”

You looked at her shocked, amazed that she is giving you her favorite food.

“Sakura… this is your favorite food… don’t you want some?”

“No, I got it for you after all” She looked up at the moon “Now, let’s watch the night sky together, shall we?”

- Natsuhiko was always a flirt with other girl

- However, he treated you different

- And it was obvious to everyone

- It wasn’t hard to see that he had feelings for you

- He would not expect for you to like him back though

- And if you do he is very grateful

- Worshiping the very ground you walk on

- He wants you to feel very special

- He loves to spoil you

- You are his darling after all, he should spoil you!

- He is only a back up researcher so he doesn’t have as much work as the other researchers

- He spends the rest of this freetime in your office

- He will often just sit their and chat

- But he will sometimes do Sakura's work for you and bring you anything you need

- He loves any kind of attention from you

- Even if that attention is you pushing him away because you are busy-

- He is there whenever you call him

- People call him a simp but he doesn’t mind

- He knows he is one

- He loves to take you on luxurious dates

- Anything to make you feel special and classy

- Even at work, he wants you to feel like royalty

- He will always treat you like royalty

“Natsuhiko?” You called for your boyfriend, wandering around the castle trying to find him. You soon came across the nap room, finding your boyfriend dozing off. You laughed as you made your way towards him and poked his side.

“Natsuhiko?” You voice was soft like honey and he started to wake up.

“Y/n… are you done with your work already~” He hummed.

“It’s been two hours since you were in my office..”

“I been sleeping for that long… and im still tired..” He yawned.

“Are you ready to go home?”

“Just a couple more minutes… stay with me~” He reached out his arms for you. To his surprise, you actually laid down next to him and cuddled into his chest. His face went pink, not actually thinking you would cuddle him.

“I guess I could spare five minutes…” You muttered as you smiled happily. He soon regained his composure, hugging you tightly and kissing your forehead.

“Sweet dreams, my love~”

- Aoi was always a researcher that stuck out to you

- She was so small and delicate

- And she barely said a word

- She fell for you deeply and it shocked her when you felt the same

- She started speaking to you a lot more once you two were official

- She even lets you pet her tail

- Her tail adores you as well

- She loves that you accept her for who she is, tail, ears, and all

- It warms her heart knowing that someone as perfect as you loves her

- She does some acts like holding your hand or kissing your cheek to show you she loves you

- She shows her love with actions rather than words

- She loves to just spend time with you

- Even in silence, she doesn’t mind silence at all

- Just being around you makes her happy and she tried to express that without talking

- She sometimes fears that you don’t understand that and instead see her as a unsence

- She will get upset if she doesn’t come off clearly to you

- She isn’t upset with you, she's upset with herself

- While you might not think shes that open with you, this is the most open she has been with anyone in her life

- She will wrap her arms around your neck and hold you tightly for a long time

- She will let you get comfortable, but when shes sad she just wants to hold you for hours

- Your body heat feels amazing to her

- And she just wants to heart your heartbeat to make sure you are safe with her

“Aoi!” You called out the girl's name and she stuck her ears up to your voice. She turned around to see you holding two boxes of food.

“Would you like to eat lunch together?” You asked and she nodded happily.

She took you by the hand and brought you to a quiet picnic spot outside for you two to rest. The night wind blew softly as the leaves rustled in the trees. You sat with her in complete silence.

You two haven’t been dating long, you two are on your second week, but you still didn’t know what to do in these quiet moments. You were okay with sitting in comfortable silence but you felt awkward sometimes. She didn’t seem to be bothered by the silence so you never knew if you should break it or not.

You placed your food down as you kept your eyes on the leaves but Aoi kept her eyes on you. She reached out and took your hand in hers, using her fingers to glide over your palm.

“You know… when I’m out here by myself, I often think of what it will be like if you were with me..” Her cheeks were pink and ears low, concentrating on your hand “I enjoy just spending time with you like this, I love the feeling of you being around me…” She then takes your hand and places it on her cheek so you were cupping her cheek “I know I don’t say it enough but… I really do love you..” She smiles and you felt your heart warm up

“Aoi… I love you too, so much..” You said in awe and earned a giggle from her. She hugged you tightly, resting your head on her chest. She started to play with your hair, her wolf tail grabbing a hair brush from her bag and brushing your hair with it. You smiled in contentment, enjoying being this close to the girl you love.

- Akane always hated the nursery

- He wanted to take it down

- But he soon heard that there was a new manager

- He thought that it was just another manager who he needed to fight with but he was wrong

- You were different

- And he fell for you fast and hard

- It’s almost like he didn’t want to shut down the nursery

- He would act like hes in the nursery to try and shut it down but really he is just there to see you

- He doesn’t think you should be working there

- But he loves you so much, you can change his mind so easily

- He will soon come to love the nursery, enjoying spending time there

- And spending time with you

- It did take a long time at first (he was very whiny about it, saying the nursery is badd and such)

- But he stopped trying to shut it down

- It shocked everyone

- He always hated the monsters that came out of the nursery

- But someone changed his mind

- And that someone was the person he loved

“Y/n!!” Akane smiled as he saw you exit the nursery. He was waiting for you for a while now. It’s been a month since you two started dating and it shocked everyone. Akane always hated the thought of a monster nursery and you were the manager of the establishment he wanted to get shut down. But instead of fighting, you two fell in love.

“Hey, how long were you waiting out here for?” You asked.

“Heh… that doesn’t matter. What does matter is that I have this new spot I want to show you!” He took your hand in his. You two walked down the street hand in hand, Akane leading you to a surprise place. You two soon found yourselves in front of a clock shop.

“Is this the place?” you tilted your head

“Yeah! I just wanted to bring you here… well, because I just felt like I should!” He took your hand and led you inside. You saw many beautiful clocks. You two spent time looking at each clock carefully and you were shocked about how much he seemed to know about these clocks.

“Oh… it’s late. Should we head out?” Akane asked you when he noticed the time.

“Yeah we probably should…” You faced him “do you want to buy a clock?”

“No it’s fine, I already got one earlier!” He pulled out a small pocket watch. You two were about to leave when an old man called out for Akane. Akane stood still until he instructed him to come closer.

“Wait outside, alright…” He said and closed the shop door behind him. You looked through the window and saw the two talking. You couldn’t tell what they were saying but you were on guard when you saw Akane’s face turn pale in what looked like shock.

Soon enough, the boy walked out of the shop with a shaky smile.

“Akane… what was that about…?” You took his hand in yours

“It was nothing… just a strange encounter..”
