I find it hilarious that Oliver is thrown flat on his back in a prison cell, yet he still tells a leader of the Russian mob some version of “I told you so”

It is very interesting to think about Oliver's character arc from Anatoly's perspective. When he last saw Oliver back in season 2, the shades of who he would be in Russia were starting to be there. Anatoly saw him endure torture, saw him fight, saw him strategizing. But it's coming from a very different place back then. He's acting out of desperation in order to survive and protect his friends.
In between, Oliver became an assassin. He became a torturer. And when Anatoly sees him again in 5x01, Oliver has a much harder edge than when they last met. I mean Anatoly finds him in an underground fight club.
Compare their first meeting on the Amazo with Oliver's incredulity and what's happening to him, to their meeting in 5x01 where he's tied to a chair with a gun pointed at his head and meets that with total composure.

as of 6x02, anatoly is my favorite arrow character. such a fascinating parallel with slade, too, where somehow after everything oliver and slade are starting to be friends again, but despite how anatoly and oliver owe all their successes to each other, everything is falling apart.

I admit thuogh that I like it very much when Anatoly calls Oliver "Kapiushon"
