𓍢ִ໋♡𓂃 ࣪ ִ receiving your blessings! ୨🧸୧
˚₊‧꒰ა roots ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
• feeling guilty about being given things you supposedly "dont deserve", like lots of love or gifts or whatever it may be, comes from a lack mindset.
• that is where you feel there is not enough of these things like love, gifts, money, etc. to go around. you think of the world as though there is always "not enough" and feel the need to push away the blessings you receive for someone or something else, or hold on to every little scrap of everything you find bc you fear you wont find it again.
• this comes from having a lack of things like love, money, affection, etc. in childhood and continues on as you grow up & get older.
one thing i've noticed is a lot of people actually treat this as a normal thing to push away the things youre given because you think "this is too much" or "i dont deserve this" or anything along those lines.
🧸 "i dont feel worthy of this" if you werent worthy it wouldnt be given to you. everyone and everything comes into your life for a reason, good or bad, and its your job to accept that and learn the lesson that comes from said thing or person. if someone offers you a gift, money, a job offer you've wanted, etc. if you know its safe then take it !!
── there are people with less money than you, less talent than you, less potential than you, out living your dreams just because you were too scared to take that opportunity you were given and just go for it. dont look back and think "oh, i should have taken that". dont let yourself have regrets when you know you can avoid them. life is to be lived, not feared.
🩰 "im not sure if i should" the opportunity wouldnt arise if it wasnt 100% certain it would benefit you in someway. obviously if you feel its sketchy or unsafe for whatever reason stay away from it and obviously do not go through with it or take it but if you know its safe and fine but youre still not sure then what are you doing!!! take it!!!
── you are refusing the gifts being given for what? worry? worry about what? who are you to doubt the gifts you are being given when you know its safe and you should take it? would you be concerned if someone gave you a gift on your birthday? this is the same thing. every day is your birthday if youve got the right mindset 🫶
Tumblr media
🧸 "someone else deserves it more" what. think if you got a present on your birthday and it was something you'd wanted for aaaaages. would you sit there and think "no, someone else deserves this more than me"? if the answer's yes then you need to get your priorities straight ml im sorry. this was given to you for you. why are you doubting the universe- the world????? what???? girl what
── ok this can go two ways. if its something someone else genuinely needs because they dont have it and could heavily benefit from like fresh water, a job offer, a housing offer, fresh food, i would give it to them if i already had those resources for myself too because everybody needs those. they're basic necessities to live & thats basic empathy. but if its something you dont need to live but really really want and are being given the chance to obtain then what. are you doing. girl. take it! what is your problem!
🩰 i think if you find yourself saying or thinking these things often, pause for a second and ask yourself why you think this. is it something to do with growing up, the people around you, your financial status.. whatever it may be, it always helps to find the root of the problem. ♡
treat yourself to whatever you wish! you deserve it just because you are alive. that is a difficult task in itself. you deserve it just because you want it. you work so hard, so why shouldnt you have the things you want? take that gift, take that money, take that date, take that offer. life is too short to regret what you could have had 🫶💕

people who say jason is tim’s robin… WHAT have you been reading cuz it’s clearly not any comics whatsoever
like. tim has been obsessed with dick grayson from the moment they met, the night dick’s parents died, when they took a photo together before the show
the robin that tim followed around was dick, it’s literally how he figured out his and batman’s identities! he recognized robin!dick doing a signature Flying Grayson move that only his family could do and immediately knew robin was dick grayson (and by association, bruce wayne was batman) !!
sure he probably followed robin!jason around as well, but dick was robin for almost a decade! jason was only robin for a few years before he died, and tim literally tracked dick down to a different city to get him to be robin again
basically just. JASON WAS NOT TIM’S ROBIN, DICK WAS!!!

I swear most of the time when someone asks for characters to "face consequences" for their actions they only ever mean three things: imprisonment, suffering and/or death. Unless you give them one of those, the common belief is that said character has not paid for what they have done and has gotten away with it scot-free. That is insane to me.
A character can face consequences or pay for what they have done in a myriad of ways that do not require imprisonment (depending on the scope of their powers, the mere thought of jail is ridiculous), they do not require suffering (if you torture someone they don't learn shit. Torturers are not good guys no matter who they are and more importantly, no matter who they torture [I'm looking at you, TVA]) and you're not forced to kill a former villain character so they can be labelled as good (but only as long as they're dead. The moment they come back, people say they're villains again).
It sucks because every time a story tries to be a little more complex than that and attempts to treat their evil/morally grey characters differently, they're accused of justifying the crimes or ruining the framing.
I'll put an example with characters I dislike. I never needed Stark to be killed off or hurt or jailed, I wanted him to acknowledge what he had done, to accept his role in it and act accordingly. Thanos needed to be called out on his bullshit that he never cared about the balance of the universe and he was no more than a sadistic narcissist that enjoyed watching others in pain as it made him feel better about himself after his own people rejected and exiled him. I didn't need Walker imprisoned or tortured, I wanted him to realize he wasn't good enough for that shield & that he is in desperate need of an attitude change.
Wanda didn't "get away" from Westview just because she wasn't imprisoned (how can you do that without her explicit consent? The scope of her powers makes it almost impossible to jail her, she can even escape the mirror dimension!) or she wasn't tortured (you seriously think any physical pain is going to hurt her after the insane amount of emotional/psychological damage she has sustained for so long?) or she wasn't killed (what a cheap way to fix a story. I'm looking at you, MoM).
She willingly killed her family so that everyone could escape. How is that "getting away with it" just because she didn't die with them? If anything it's a bigger sacrifice: she has to live every day without them.

You know it bothers me a tad when people say Ezra and the skywalkers were born on the same day on empire day when one of the executives said Ezra is born 2 days older. Unless I'm not one for understanding star wars timelines, which is why star wars confuses me and gives me headaches.

if you think it about it, it's so ridiculous that people don't like the new queer labels that are being defined and discovered.
like people are stopping to think about what they find attractive, what the difference is between romance and sex, what they want out of a relationship, what they are drawn to in a person, what it means to be a partner, and then taking their time to define it and create a word for it.
people are discussing their experiences with other and seeing how it overlaps and how it differs and that's amazing. demystifing these complicated topics by creating new words to describe our relationships to them.
and that doesn't mean every person needs to learn what every new label means, I'm not saying that. but I have such respect for the people who have taken the time to analyze their complicated feelings about romance and sex and gender and define it. it's complicated, and I also like seeing people embrace the ambiguity and the complexities, you know?

something about people comparing training a piece of software to actual humans learning things is so weirdly ominous
because IF AI is learning exactly the way a human does (current "AI" is not, but let's assume for the sake of argument that it is) then that implies that it's fundamentally not very different from a human brain. And at that point, you get into the question of sentience, and AI rights, and whether it's ethically or legally okay to have a sentient entity churn out work for you without any kind of compensation, and claim that work as yours. Nobody seems concerned about this.
As it stands, that's not what's happening. It's just software, trained using (stolen) human-made art and photos. (The equivalent software for music, made by the same people, was not trained using stolen music because, as the creators said, of copyright concerns. Which is interesting, to say the least.)
but in conversations around this, people simultaneously insist that there is no difference between a human learning from other humans, and an AI learning from humans, but at the same time, insist that the work produced by the AI is in fact their work, because the AI is just a tool. (Legally speaking, this is not the case; you don't own the copyright on AI images you generate.)
If the AI has a moral right, just like a human, to study other people's art to learn from it… why does it not have the moral right to be identified as the creator? Why is it okay for me to take the thing it made, and say I made it, because I told it what to do? I can't do that with other humans' art. If I commission you to paint something for me, that doesn't make me the artist of that painting.
and like it or not, we live in a world where software is generally owned by corporations, and ascribing human qualities to that software, equating it to humans in order to get it similar moral rights in one regard while completely ignoring others is... concerning imo. Midjourney is not human, it's software, it's an image generator owned by a company that is making money with it.
(it's also fun to see people scurry to defend big for-profit corporations and their right to profit off other people's work instead of the people actually creating that work, I guess all you have to do is make up some bullshit claim that you're "democratising" art or currency or twitter or bees or whatever tf and people will fall all over themselves to defend you)

in response to your post about educators, its kind of like the argument on professors (college/uni) and that a lot of them dont actually know? or care much about how they teach their students simply because their main job is supposedly, to research. but if you're in a classroom with students, where you have to educate them on the research you've made, why shouldn't you at least be better about how you provide that information to your students? if you're only good at research but you can't teach, are you really a professor at a school?
idk man this is why you have good teachers and bad teachers. teachers that can teach their students=good and teachers that can't teach their students=not so good. i feel like schools gotta do better about who they hire to teach their students but obviously thats not gonna happen lmao
I think I should’ve provided more context on my question bc I def HARD agree w/ this, but I’m also talking abt… leading a classroom (and being able to guide the behaviors of students) alongside pedagogical factors such as literally being able to teach.
WHICH IS MY FAULT and I apologize… tho this relates too given that you’re right: knowledge isn’t the only thing needed to be a “good” teacher and meshing well w/ your students doesn’t make you great at transferring information, either.
Which is important to keep in mind in my case, bc presumably my coworker is just gonna go off and do her own thing and maybe she really IS good at teaching kids… but I still wonder if not being able to control them or take the ones w/ trauma seriously also…….. takes away from her ability, yk?

@lilahemorgan
Lilah tried to slowly sit up, her head was pounding. “Not so loud.. and I.. “ she started, but she paused trying to remember how she’d ended up here in the first place let alone if they’d had sex. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d gotten this drunk. She brushed some of her hair out of her face.
If they hadn't slept together this was a real awkward way to wake up. If they had, in fact, had sex at least waking up in this position would make sense and he was fairly certain they were both capable of not trying to put too much weight on a drunken fling. It was the not being sure that was bothering him. He was naked but he always slept that way so that still didn't give him much to go on.
"...you want breakfast?" he offered casually after a moment, careful to keep his voice down for her.
