Sigh
Wanna know what pissed me off when tsats first came out
Like erm
No.. the kids just been fucking traumatized for the most developmental years of his life?? Let him be a weird loser teenager, whos still scary as shit when needed
In tsats
he was dorky and sarcastic and silly
He made a fucking skeleton half pipe
AND
As if when NDA was first introduced he wasnt a snarky little loser who was a massive nerd for a cardgame???
Plus, every single queer teen knows the only way to get over trauma is shitty humour /silly
But like
The kid got thrown into a world that was like- his favourite thing coming to life, lost his sister, was alone for a while, went through so much, got out of it, met Hazel, only to be thrown back into shit AGAIN, had to deal with being outed and just queer feelings in general (being raised catholic, IN 1940s ITALY), started to bridge off again, met someone who loves him dearly and is finally starting to *heal*
Please let him be a fucking teenager
Hes 15, hes allowed to be weird and nerdy and a dork

oughggh something that makes me insane about the dynamic between Akihiro and Laura is that they're both outcasts who see themselves as Different than everyone else but the contrast is that Laura in the early days doesn't understand a lot of social skills and societal rules even if she has some idea she has a hard time following by them. but she Wants So Badly to be like other people, to be Human, she wants to fit in and she tries so hard to because she wants to be good, she wants to be better than her upbringing.
Meanwhile Akihiro has always understood societal rules and expectations, social skills, etc and is able to use them to fit in perfectly into whatever role he is playing at the moment, but he doesn't actually Care about following them at all. He's an outcast who has always viewed himself as being different than everyone else and he doesn't care at all about fitting in or trying to live in human rules. Because he doesn't care about anyone else, he doesn't want to do good, he likes hurting people because he has lost sight of their relevance.
It sets up such an interesting contrast between the two of them, Akihiro can fit in but he doesn't want to, Laura can't fit in but she wants to. Akihiro was groomed to be a killer and it's all he wants to be, Laura was created to be a killer but she wants to be good. Akihiro doesn't understand why Laura wants to do good and wants to fit in when she has such power, Laura doesn't understand why Akihiro limits himself by separating himself from society. They intrigue each other because they come from such similar places but have such different values and goals. But Akihiro is especially intrigued by why she is like this, and seeing this in her is what helped him change to be more like her.

Haunted Holy & Divine snippet
“When you torture people,” Nesta said, flatly. “For whatever it is they’ve done. They throw them in the dark and they throw them to you.” There had never been a choice. Azriel was the bastard son of an Illyrian lord. There was only blood, for him. It would have been swords and battlefields. A lifetime of war. Killing his own, when the disobeyed. Crippling his own, when they dreamt of more. Azriel’s hands would have always had to do the work- for Rhain, for Shahar, for Rhysand. It was no small thing that had made him what he was, but it was no choice either. “I mean you no harm,” Azriel settled on saying, nearly soundless. Colorless, as the deepening shadow, his many many forebears in Night’s unholy work crowding close in cold comfort. It was no physical nearness, but Nesta’s eyes flickered up, following what was not light like a moth. “What is the point in hurting them,” she huffed. “What is the point, when you?” She made a vast slashing gesture toward him, lingering enough Azriel could not reign in the shadows that slipped, trying to coil around her aching wrist in support. “You don’t need a knife to know.” No, he didn’t. And the first century of his work for the throne, Truthteller had been nothing but a friend, a mark of respect: Azriel might carry of sword at times, might have survived training, but he would never carry a blessed blade of his people. So Rhain had made him one. Starsteel did not bend for High Fae hands, but it had melted. Become something better, worse, beneath Azriel’s young, unfettered grip. “I don’t.” Azriel admittedly, softly. “I do not choose what my High Lord asks of me.”

wait idk anything about the tevis’— why would tommy tevis call dick his son? would you be willing to give a quick rundown
After Dick failed to get himself incarcerated, he became an enforcer for a mob boss named Tommy Tevis. Tommy took Dick in and made him part of his family. Tommy considered him an honorary son and thought very highly of him.
Tumblr media
Nightwing (Vol. 2) #107
He even told Dick that everything he had (his home, his reputation, his family, etc.) was Dick's as well. Lynette, Tommy's wife, told Dick that Tommy would let Dick do anything. The whole family loved Dick, including Tommy's 15 year old daughter, Sophia. Sophia actually had a crush on Dick, but Dick acted like an older brother to her, helping her with her homework and such.
While Dick was away from the family for a few days, the cops busted into the Tevis's home. Lynette got killed in the gunfire, Tommy got taken to jail, and Sophia got taken in by the state.
Dick, while mentoring Rose, broke Sophia out of the state home. He got Sophia to help him with the mob. Then, when Chemo fell on Bludhaven, Dick saved Sophia and left her with Amy. When they reunited at the hospital, Dick asked Sophia to leave the mob behind and join a boarding school.
So, yeah, that's Dick's relationship with the Tevis family.

Due to seeing multiple people look back at 2005 Renault Nando, I looked back at some pictures and decided that 2005 Nando was a child
Tumblr media
Look at how proud they are
Tumblr media
He's their boy
Tumblr media
He looks young and small
Tumblr media
This pic makes Nando and Kimi look tiny
Tumblr media
I can't decide how to interpret this pic
Tumblr media
I just noticed the candles are blue and yellow, that's adorable
Tumblr media
Look at the little boy and his achievements

the man who falls – secret origins (1989)
[ID: Two cropped comic pages of Bruce Wayne as a child after falling into a cave and being ambushed by a swarm of bats. There's multiple narration boxes over the pages:
Page One: a three panel sequence of Bruce being rescued by his father. In the first panel, Bruce is screaming with his eyes squeezed shut in fear. He has his fists clenched in front of him and is wearing a reddish pink turtleneck sweater. The narration says, ‘Again, he shrieked — not in terror, but in despair...’ In the second panel, Thomas Wayne is shown from behind in a low angle. He's wearing a red sweater similar to Bruce and is holding a flashlight as he jerks Bruce into him. Above them is bats surrounding them and the broken wood floors that Bruce fell through. The narration continues, ‘The arm curled around him, muffling his voice, and his cheek rubbed against the rough wool of his father's jacket... He squeezed his eyes shut, willing himself to be away from here—’. In the third panel, they're standing outside. The narration reads, ‘When he opened them, he was in the area behind the mansion, in the pale light of the autumn afternoon, and his father's words pounded at him—’. Thomas is kneeling down in front of Bruce in front of the hole he fell in. He's gripping the child's shoulders as he scolds him, “Idiot! I told you never, never to go off alone. Didn't I? Didn't I?” Martha Wayne is behind them with her hand on the side of her face as she looks at them with relief that Bruce is okay.
Page Two: Martha is defending Bruce as Bruce has his head down. Thomas is still squeezing Bruce's shoulders as Martha tells him, “Thomas, he's frightened.” Thomas replies, “He damn well ought to be. He could have been killed.” Martha replaces Thomas's spot in front of Bruce, kneeling to gently place a hand on his upper arm and using a handkerchief to wipe his forehead. Bruce is standing with his fist still clenched and grimacing as Thomas angrily says, “He's got to learn.” Bruce is shown in a low angle, looking up at his mother with wide eyes. The narration continues, ‘He listened to his father's boots crushing the dead grass, and when he could no longer hear them, he dared to ask:’ “Mommy, was I in hell?” Martha soothes, “No, baby, that was just some old cave. You're safe now,” as she hugs him. His cheek is pressed against hers and she has her eyes closed as Bruce still looks uncertain. END ID]
#once again pushing my 'thomas wayne was a piece of shit' propaganda#tied in with the panel of him hitting bruce#and then the alt timeline where they live and martha expresses concern that her eight year old has an obsession with criminology now#and stopped being talkative or wanting to see some train (his special interest) and thomas says good and that it was worth the scare#and ! being autistic. for me when im emotional all sound is so much louder and more overwhelming#the fact that he waited until he couldnt hear his father walking away before asking his mother if he was in hell....#and being no older than 8 and still waiting. just tensed and taking the verbal lashing and them fighting before speaking up?? yeah.#also think it'll be interesting in the 'bruce is constantly seeing the best in people even shitty people that dont 'deserve' a second#chance or for someone to fully believe they can change. that you do bad things but aren't a bad person. that you can do good and not#be a good person. that its making a choice and that anyone can choose and decide to do better than they were yesterday'#sorta deal yknow?#just the conditioning of forgiveness for something theyre not sorry for and wanting to believe everyone is capable of being good#that traumatized 'mommy was i in hell' like god sorry brucie for the trauma but itll have a payoff in a decade or so trust me kid#also martha?? love her. hes the biggest mama's boy you cant change my mind.#bruce wayne#thomas wayne#martha wayne#baby brucie#crypt's panels#c: secret origins | the man who falls#bruce & martha#bruce's childhood

Thinking about how so much of the fandom (especially in fanfic) treats Sapphire like she's stupid. Literally how did you manage to misinterpret her character so bad. She's literally so smart. Her intelligence was what helped her pass Roxanne's gym test. People constantly underestimate her because she needs help reading and doesn't act stereotypically feminine. Both things that are directly related to her CHILDHOOD TRAUMA

Just realized that, everytime I daydream with a assassination classroom crossover, is so, so a different character can take Nagisa away and his mother goes to jail or to a psychiatrist.
It has been years and I'm still salty about how the whole thing was handled in the anime.
That witch beat the shit out of him, drugged him, and tried to force him to set his classroom on fire and they just send Nagisa back with her?
Wtf. What. The. Fuck.
And that whole reconciliation between his parents at the end was so... ugh.
I need more assclass fics where someone, anyone, deals with this different than in cannon.

Also I'm possibly painting a huge target on my back here but I don't understand why so many folks are mad about the way the show portrays Geralt and Yennifer's relationship. The details are certainly different but in both the books and the games, their relationship is toxic and co-dependant and poisoned by their individual traumas. They have both done very shitty things to each other within the confines of their relationship and yet they still love each other dearly but they are miserable together.
This is especially shown in the games where Yennifer refuses to accept Geralt's *very true* explination for why he slept around [and, specifically, with Triss] of "hey remember I had amnesia from Being Dead and Pursued By The Wild Hunt and didn't even know my own name let alone how to be a witcher or that I'm looking for my daughter or that you even existed in the first place, and also I broke things off with Triss and went looking for you the second I remembered literally any of that" and that's apparently the *wrong* answer because if you say it she dumps you in the lake. After being mad at you and picking fights with you about it for basically the entire game. But then is upset if you break things off after undoing the wish.
In the show they clearly have a lot of love and affection for each other- Geralt's clear pain at thinking she's dead and Yennifer's wild search for something to fulfill her like being with him did- while also demonstrating that they are indeed bad for each other. Their relationship is painful and complicated and hard to describe and they both want it to work very badly but keep fucking it up again and again and again. That's... pretty accurate, again the details are different but that's exactly the *feel* of the love they share.
