Don't look, i'm about to overthink this panel
Tumblr media
Long post under the cut.
Notwithstanding that I can't figure out what's going on with Aizawa's legs here because he's twisted around or something—it's a good panel. Look at them, they're adorable. 11/10 no notes.
Actually that's not true I have so many notes.
Will someone also please get this man a blanket for god's sake
I'm going to unpack the implications here from two perspectives: Aizawa telling Eri he got hit by a truck, and Eri trying (and failing) to save Aizawa.
Tis But A Flesh Wound
Aizawa tells Eri he got hit by a truck, and a common interpretation I've seen of this is that nobody told her what happened to him. I don't necessarily think this is true, because:
A) She rewound Mirio the day before the raid
Tumblr media
B) She was watching the fight on TV with All Might.
Tumblr media
Canonically, she is at least tangentially aware of what happened. Aizawa also knows that she's at least somewhat aware of what happened, vis-a-vis excerpt A.
I've also seen the interpretation that Aizawa is trying to obfuscate the truth about his injuries from her (presumably because the quirk-deleting bullets were created from her blood), but again, she was watching the fight on TV.
The most rational (hah) explanation is that he's just back on his bullshit, lying to children for his own amusement.
which is. hysterical.
Tumblr media
Anyways, onto item 2!
The Deus Ex Machina
As we saw above, Eri rewound Mirio the day before the raid. I am not a scholar of the BNHA timeline, but I did do some research while I was writing Nine Lives. My understanding is as follows:
The Shie Hassaikai raid is sometime in September
The Jaku raid is at the end of March
Mirio corroborates these two points when he arrives at Jaku, noting that he's been out of the game for about 6 months
Tumblr media
Post-Jaku is where the timeline gets weird.
Tartarus is breached the night of the raid on Jaku and Gunga
Midoriya is brought back to UA about a month after that
The Star & Stripe fight happens the day after that
The day after that, All Might reveals they have at least a week to prepare for the final battle. Aoyama is revealed to be the traitor on the same day.
In summary, the final battle happens somewhere in the ballpark of a month and a half to two months after Jaku / Gunga.
Tumblr media
With the timeline sort of squared away, let's move on to the interpretation I've seen some readers make, which is that Eri didn't have enough energy to rewind Aizawa. The translation of Ectoplasm's dialogue has varied between the original leaks, the fan scanlation, and the official release, leading to some ambiguity of interpretation here, but there are a few different reasons that this doesn't make any sense:
Based on the timeline outlined above, where Eri successfully sends Mirio back 6 months on the day before the raid, it doesn't really make sense that 0 to 2 months later, she couldn't hypothetically rewind Aizawa by 0 to 2 months after he loses his leg and eye. Eri's power is wishy washy at best, but this seems like it's entirely within the realm of plausibility if Aizawa wanted to be rewound.
From a storytelling standpoint, what's the point of rewinding Aizawa to de-nerf him for the final battle if him and Monoma are ultimately removed from the fight via Sad Man's Parade anyway?
My interpretation is that this doesn't actually have anything to do with Eri trying and failing to rewind Aizawa, but rather she's trying to go rescue Midoriya and help him the same way that she did during the Shie Hassaikai raid.
Tumblr media
The inference Ectoplasm is making is that it's too late for that, because she's at home watching the fight on TV rather than already being on the battlefield. This was also the case at Jaku, where she was canonically watching the fight on TV with All Might. She must have seen Aizawa go down and wanted to go save him, but it was already too late for her to try to help.
There's an entire separate essay worth of discussion on why Aizawa continues to live with one leg and one eye (both from a canon and a meta perspective), but I won't get into that here.
In conclusion:
This panel is fucking adorable
Aizawa continues to lie to children for fun and profit
Eri is baby and is physically perfectly capable of controlling her power at this juncture, she's just geographically removed from the action because she's like seven years old
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk

You often mention that because Lucien already lost Jesminda — someone he believed to be his mate — he won’t lose his mate again (Elain). That Sarah wouldn’t do that to him.
But have you considered that this could also be the very reason why Lucien doesn’t want or need a mate, and may not end up with Elain?
Think about it: Lucien loved Jesminda. He mourned her death for centuries. Now that it’s revealed that Jesminda isn’t actually her mate… and Elain is… do you think Lucien somehow loves Jesminda less? Or views their past relationship in a lesser manner? I doubt it.
If anything, it would prove to Lucien that in the grand scheme of things, a mating bond has little bearing on true love.
Jesminda, as per canon: had loved Lucien “without question” and “without hesitation.” Jesminda had “chosen” him.
Elain, as per canon: is only involved with Lucien because of the mating bond that neither asked for (basically a glorified arranged marriage). There is question, and there is certainly hesitation. When it came down to it in ACOSF, Elain chose Azriel, not Lucien.
Jesminda wasn’t Lucien’s mate, but loved him with all she had. Elain is Lucien’s mate… and seemingly wants nothing to do with him. Again, wouldn’t this just prove to Lucien that a mating bond really means… fuck all?
An apt comparison is to the Rowan/Lyria/Aelin saga. Although Rowan loved Lyria (and even once believed they were mates), when it came down to it, Rowan later reflected that he and Lyria were such different people, and were never that compatible in the first place.
“He'd come to love Lyria--that had been true. And the guilt of it ate him alive whenever he thought of it, but he could understand now. Why Lyria had been so frightened of him for those initial months, why it had been so damn hard to court her, even with that mating bond, its truth unknown to Lyria as well. She had been gentle, and quiet, and kind. A different sort of strength, yes, but not what he might have chosen for himself.”
Doesn’t that sound familiar…?
Instead, Rowan found his match in Aelin. From the start, even when they were arguing and bickering and cruel to one another, there was always a spark. Always passion.
In the same way Vassa and Jesminda (who we know Lucien adored) are described in the same way. Compatible. Lucien is lighter around Vassa. He found a home with her, when no one else offered him one (including Elain).
And never once was Rowan blushing around other women, or travelling to nearby continents to save other women while Aelin remained at home… as Lucien was for Vassa.
Never once was Aelin near kissing other men, or buying other men gifts while Rowan was in the same house… as Elain was for Azriel.
“A bird of flame ... and a lord of fire. I wondered if they'd found each other yet."
Why would SJM say that for it to lead to… nothing?
So what I just gathered from that is your acknowledgement that it took Rowans real mate to help him finally move past his sadness and guilt with Lyria (who he believed was his mate), and eventually fall in love with Aelin, his actual mate.
It also seems like it took Lucien meeting his real mate to start moving on from his guilt and past with Jesminda, who he thought was his mate. And could also eventually have a HEA with Elain, his actual mate.
For both males, it took their actual mate to move forward.
And yes, Rowan did separate from Aelin for a period of time. Just like Lucien is living elsewhere.
Are they the exact same scenarios? No but why would they be? Did Aelin have a sister that she was living with? Is Elain an assassin who had other business to deal with? These are different characters with different stories and Elucien is the only SJM pairing to have a bond snap like it did. Elain was the only character engaged and in love with someone else when that happened.
For the females:
Aelin did not have feelings for Rowan for quite a while as she was nursing broken feelings from her relationship with Chaol. Where she slept in bed with Rowan yet still did not develop romantic feelings for him.
Which is similar to Elain not jumping immediately into Lucien's arms after her fiance rejected her (something not even Aelin had). Giving her a pretty valid reason to instead focus on an innocent crush as she's overwhelmed by the enormity of her mating bond and has not really been in a place to process those feelings.
And no, Aelin didn't hook up with someone after meeting Rowan because they were planning for a war. She had other things on her mind at that time.
Nesta definitely did though! Even though she claims she always wanted Cassian.
Lucien's not just a Lord of Fire though is he? Why would SJM have Elain say she needs "sunshine" then reveal Lucien to be the heir to the Day Court? Weird how your argument works in my favor too! ☺️. Especially when my girl Elain is still the one he longs for after living with said Bird of Flame. If he's had a year to get to know Vassa yet Elain is still the one he wants I'm thinking Vassa just doesn't do it for him, sorry! 🤷
You're trying to say that because Lyria wasn't what Rowan would have chosen for himself the same can be said of Elain for Lucien except... It kind of seems like Elain is what he wants since he's still coming around despite her distance?
You can't honestly believe Lucien truly knew Elain the very first time he met during her depression which led to him thinking back on Jesminda..
He was remembering Jesminda when she was happy and free. And he had recently discovered Elain was in love with someone else and therefore he was struggling with the realization she probably wouldn't want him. Of course the two females seemed very different to Lucien in that moment. It doesn't mean Lucien didn't end up liking what he learned the more he learned of her.
And Rowan was a warrior which is why he was best suited to a mate who was also a fighter.
Lucien has no interest fighting (though he'll do it when he has to). Doesn't it stand it reason that a female who isn't a warrior, one with a different sort of strength, is the perfect fit for him? Exactly as his real mate is described?
Lyria was married to Rowan and he thought that of her. When Lucien and Elain are married, we can compare notes 😉.
Again, Lyria was his fake mate. Probably why Rowan wouldn't have chosen her.
Elain is Lucien's real mate.
And what Lucien wanted in his youth is not necessarily who he'd want now. Jesminda was wild and free and Lucien at the time would have given up his title for her. That doesn't really sound like the right fit for a grown Lucien who wants to help the courts and is set up to be a future High Lord with responsibilities.
And Az blushed at Mor while Elain was in the room. Are you trying to claim that all blushes equal endgame love interests? He blushed for Nesta in SF.
You might want to check out the TOG series because a male who wasn't Lorcan blushed at Elide.
Also, Lucien wasn't blushing at Vassa, he was blushing because Feyre was embarrassing him in front of his mate.
It's funny how e/riels come onto my page acting like Elain isn't special compared to Vassa, just to ship Lucien with anyone else.
She's Elain Fucking Archeron. The most beautiful female he'd ever seen. She's kind, wise, thoughtful, generous and loving (all words used in the series to describe her). AND she's his mate. It's very amusing that you think Vassa could top that for Lucien.
He's desired by many females but there's only one he wants.
You're also forgetting that it's not just because he lost Jesminda that I feel this way. The author was going to pair him with Nesta but didn't because she realized they'd be a poor fit. Why would she pair him with the other sister if she was also going to be a bad match for him?
That wouldn't make a lot of sense now, would it?
Oh! Adding an Edit:
Lucien also loved Jesminda to the point that he thought she was his mate because he had never experienced a mating bond, he was able to convince himself that what he felt was the love from a bond. Now that he knows exactly how powerful and consuming a mating bond is, how can he ever go back from that? Not only will another female never have the potential of being his mate (meaning he'll never love her to the point of thinking she could be because he knows she never will), but he will also be lacking the thread that exists between them.
He knows what a bond is now. He knows that it helps him sense Elain. That sitting with her and feeling her caused him to blush.
Once your eyes are opened up, you can't go back from that.
Knowing that Elain is his mate and understanding what a mating bond actually is means that it will be difficult for him to be without it.
I know he doesn't love Jesminda less than he once did but there will be a difference for Lucien in his first love versus his forever love, especially once he shares a bond with. It's silly to think that just because he believed something in his youth, he can easily go back to that after centuries and the new experience he's gathered with having a real mating bond with someone.
And Vassa and Jesminda are the furthest thing from similar. Jesminda was "laughter and mischief". Please show me where you've gotten hints of that from Vassa's character.

Dark Rise theories I disagree with and why:
Sarcean r*ped Anharion: I find it perplexing that many people still believe in this lie. It's canon that Anharion "had GIVEN himself" to Sarcean, and "the feeling of being taken, melting heat, and the fall of hair around him like black silk" is a very poor way to describe a noncon situation.
The on-and-off Collar switch: What makes you think that Sarcean wouldn't be dead by Anharion's hands the second he "switched off" the Collar, if it was as coercive as they thought?
Will and James will "dissolve" after getting their memories back and morph fully into their past selves: The memories serve as key to make decisions about their present and future. In order for Will and James to decide for themselves, they must understand the full truth of Sarcean and Anharion without the biases, prejudices, and agendas of those around them. Pacat has made it clear that Will and Sarcean will ultimately choose different paths, despite being two incarnations of the same person. The former chooses to rule, while the latter prefers freedom, and both choices are valid given their respective situations. The endgame should be putting Sarcean and Anharion to rest so that Will and James can move forward: Will must reconcile with his past in order to navigate his future.
Anharion's real name was a deadname: I say this as a person under the trans* umbrella. "Anharion" wasn't a name he had chosen for himself; it was an insult coined by the Light side. Perhaps he had come to embrace it out of spite. Just as Melkor (Mighty Arising) was dubbed "Morgoth" (black foe) by his enemies, and Mairon (The Admirable) was later called "Sauron" (the Abhorred), I believe Anharion's real name will be revealed in Book 3, with a positive meaning. I can't wait to call him "Queen (Real name)."
Will or James having to k*ll the other/k*ll themselves: Pacat intended to break the pattern where queer protagonists always met tragic ends. It was one of her motivations for writing Captive Prince and also emphasized a lot during Dark Rise interviews.
We will have a sad ending: Pacat stated in a December 2021 Q&A that a "happy ending [was] guaranteed" for the aforementioned reason.
James has no agency: James has plenty of agency, even amidst his complicated situations, with many people constantly attempting to violate his boundaries. James has consistently made his choices and desires clear. The unconventional nature of his choices, which may not always make sense to others, does not diminish their validity.
Sarcean was fully evil: "The Dark King did Nothing Wrong" nuff said.

I sometimes see people wondering when Reiko died exactly and how old her daughter was at the time of her death, but we do, in fact, already have a little bit of an answer to this in canon.
Now this is something that is only implied, but in the very first chapter of the manga, during the conversation Natsume has with Nyanko-sensei the first time he reveals his true form and right before our first Reiko flashback, we have this line (that was cut off from the anime):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[NATSUME: She [Reiko] may not have been able to relate well to others... Not many people even remember her, since she died so young. Not even her own daughter...]
[NATSUME: 確かに祖母は人とうまくつきあえなかったらしい 彼女を憶えている 「人」はほとんでいないんだ 娘だった母でさえ記憶にないくらい若くして亡くなっていて・・・・・・]
This is the official English translation, while the fan translation has this:
"There aren't that many people who remember her. She died so young that even my mom, her daughter, probably didn't remember her..."
This leaves some more uncertainty in the phrasing, but the meaning is basically the same. The original Japanese, "母でさえ記憶にないくらい若くして亡くなっていて" is a bit closer to the fan translation in a literal sense, except in Japanese there is no "probably"; Natsume sounds pretty certain his mother didn't remember Reiko.
So, if "not even her own daughter" remembered Reiko, it's fair to assume that she must have died when Takashi's mom was still a child, and a really young one at that.
(I suppose you could maybe make an argument that Reiko could have still died when the daughter was older, but then something happened that made her forget? But that doesn't seem likely to me.)
Now, this was the very first chapter written 20 years ago, back when NatsuYuu still wasn't supposed to become a long series with much of an overarching narrative, so maybe it's something that could change later. Midorikawa has definitely retconned some details in her story before. But for now that's still one of the only crumb of information we have about this.
Which, if this is correct, then it's very sad because that means Reiko only lived with her daughter for a handful of years at most and never even got to see her grow up. And given we know the grandfather wasn't around and Reiko was a single mom, then the daughter probably spent most of her childhood without her parents, and barely knew anything about either of them (or, well, nothing at all in the father's case).
Which also begs the question as to who raised Reiko's daughter after her death then. We knows Reiko had no family, and no one know anything about the grandfather, so there was no relative, even distant ones, to look after her like with Takashi.
Did she just end up in the foster system/an orphanage, or did someone specific took care of her? If so, does that mean there was a person close enough to Reiko that would have taken care of her child like this? Did the daughter just carry the Book of Friends with herself all this time? Did she knows what the Book of Friends even was, or anything about her mother's abilities? During the eastern forest arc, Takashi says that his mother didn't have any spiritual powers, but then again he never met her or know anything about her at all, so who knows how much that can be true.
Regardless, there's something particularly tragic about the idea that each generation of the Natsumes grew up as isolated orphans who barely knew anything about their family.

My review about Miraculous World: Paris, Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir
Tumblr media
This is a (first) review about a Miraculous element (especially an episode form Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir).
This post contains spoilers.
Tumblr media
Today, I've watched the Special Episode. I am prepared for the watching. I will reveal my aggregation in the end of the post.
And now, time to read:
Plot:
This happens in the same moment (at the night) as the episode Destruction (5.03). After Monarch has been cataclysmed at the left arm and before he configurates the stolen Miraculouses.
In a parallel world, a Butterfly superhero named Hesperia (Gabriel Agreste/Gabi Grassette) who is helped by Alya, Nino, Max and Markov, leaves his homeworld universe for escape from Shadybug (Toxinelle) and Claw Noire (Griffe Noire), two evil versions of Ladybug and Cat Noir. When the three characters come to the Ladybug and Cat Noir main universe, Hesperia teams up with the two titular heroes for make the ShadyClaw duo into good people. At the other side, the evil counterparts try to steal the Butterfly miraculous to Hesperia (and later to try to combine the Ladybug and Cat powers for make their wishes).
I've learned about news elements in the Miraculous lore by watching the Special:
They exist some billions an infinity of Parallel Worlds in the lore.
Each Parallel World is home to one Tikki and one Plagg (so One Ladybug holder and one Cat holder).
The inconvenients from the Ladybug's and Cat's powers (secondary effects)due to their excessive using. Shadybug and Claw Noire cause their own deterioration in their bodies by using their power for the evil.
The morale about the hope in dark and sad moments (Thanks, Hesperia.)
The parallel world (ShadyClaw/Hesperia's world) is a dystopian world ruled by the Supreme
Hesperia's, Shadybug's and Claw Noir's backstories
What I liked:
The Hesperia opening in the intro (that was WTF but that was fun)
The coming of Shadybug and Claw Noire, their odd relationships
The Claw Noir's lines and moments
The Kamiko (good alternate name to Akuma)
The akumatization forms: Chat Céleste (Cat Noir) and Ubiquity (first Alya and later Ladybug)
Ladyfly (Marinette with Ladybug + Butterfly unification)
The travels across multiple parallel worlds (Hi, Scarabella and Kitty Noire. Hi, Mister Bug and Ladynoire.)
The concept of Re-Verse (the idea of what would Marinette and Adrien have looked like if theirs lives had been different from the Canon)
The thing how Monarch has failed (again) to take the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses when he travelled across parallel worlds.
What I disliked:
The lack of end post-credits scene: I would like to see what happens in the Hesperia's world after the battle (interractions between the reformed Shabybug and Claw Noire, Hesperia, Alya ans Nino about reconciliation ans reorganisation of the Resistance against the Supreme).
The absence of other Miraclass counterparts, Luka, Kagami, Félix, Zoé, Chloé and Lila/Cerise (Only Alya, Nino, Max and Markov from the class appear in the episode as parallel counterparts)
The missing full appearance of the Supreme (his/her appearance from the shadow for reveal himself/herself/themself to spectators could make the cliffhanger effect for a sequel).
What I want to know for the future:
The most intriguing point, for me, is: The Supreme (This hidden character I have just mentioned in this post)
Who is the Supreme ? Human or Deity ? Big Brother (1984, George Orwell) ? How do s/he looks like ?
All I've learned about him/her/them is:
The Supreme is an entity/being who rules the Hesperia's homeworld (possibly the Hesperia's entire universe).
S/He is a tyrant, a dictator (worst than Chloé, possibly more machiavelic and charismatic than Cerise, more dangerous than Monarch) on this Earth (or simply Paris).
S/He hates the Love, the Freedom/Liberty, the Justice, the Happiness, positive emotions and particularly the superheroes.
It's him/her/they who is THE overarching antagonist of the Paris Special (even if s/he is only mentioned many times). S/He's so more antagonistical than Monarch.
S/He makes Hesperia and the Resistance from this world (and by extension Ladybug 2 (former Shadybug) and Cat Noir 2/Paw Noir (former Claw Noir)) as Outlaws.
It's him/her/them who given the Ladybug and Cat miraculous to Emo Marinette and Emo Adrien. Ironical and Ridiculous from the Supreme !
S/He is too powerful, too surnatural and too overcheated: s/he has a great control on the Miraculous Ultimate Absolute Power. S/He has implanted a blockage spell on Tikki and Plagg for prevent anyone to summon Gimmi.
ML theory: I'm thinking the Supreme is probably a evil type of Guardian of Miraculouses. A Fallen Guardian (NOT Master Fu NOR Su-Han). S/He has many knowledges about Miraculouses and their using + the Absolute Power.
My personal aggregation on the Paris Special:
I've enjoyed to see the episode. The narrative is excellent. The idea of Multiverse in the Miraculous lore is well found. The various animations from the episode are fun. Miraculous World: Paris, Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noire is a wonderful episode.
Result: 10/10

If the ask game is still open, an AU where All Might arrives a little late to saving Izuku from the Sludge villain. Izuku survives but has to be hospitalized and it's there that he meets Mr. Yagi, a nice though a little awkward man who always asks how he is doing.
All Might finally catches up to that slime villain, but the kid he rescued isn’t breathing. He manages to get him to cough up just enough junk to breathe after some CPR, but he needs a hospital stat. His hero form holds up just long enough for him to leap across town, drop the kid off, then leap back to capture the villain. That’s where he finds a certain notebook left behind.
Izuku is devastated that he was unconscious during his All Might encounter. Finally gets to be in the presence of his idol, and he doesn’t even remember it. That alone is almost worse than needing his stomach pumped and two surgeries to repair tears in his lungs. No doubt everyone at school heard about it. Just more proof the quirkless kid can barely survive walking home, let alone be a hero. When he’s alone, the nurses on their rounds elsewhere and his mom gone for work, he cries a lot.
Toshinori can’t visit until the next day, when Izuku is out of the ICU. He poses as All Might’s secretary and brings the standard gift bag for people caught in the crossfire of All Might’s fights, along with the notebook. Surprisingly, Izuku doesn’t look happy to see it. He took losing it as a sign that his dreams were over, but it coming back doesn’t refute that. It feels more like the universe is mocking him. He lightens up a little when Mr. Yagi compliments him, and when he sees the All Might autograph on the inside, but only a little. Toshinori is out of time again anyway, so she stays a while to play cards so the poor sad kid won’t be lonely too.
The week Izuku spends in the hospital, Yagi comes every afternoon to play a game or talk about heroes. He knows a lot, which makes sense since he works for All Might, but he weirdly never wants to talk about him. But Toshinori can tell how much Izuku does, so he lets him as one question about the man at the end of each session. It’s usually clarification on hotly debating topics like how certain unfolded fights went down. Typical fanboy stuff. But then, Izuku asks if Mr. Yagi thinks someone without a quirk could be a hero. He wanted to ask All Might, but he says he probably wouldn’t care. So Toshinori reveals his scars. He says he used to be a hero (though not which one) but had to retire early due to injuries. The rest is basically the canon speech. Izuku just says okay, and Toshinori can’t close the door fast enough not to hear him cry.
Toshinori doesn’t sleep that night. Poor kid thinks his life’s over, and here he is with the solution. But One for All isn’t something you can hand out to just anyone. Young Midoriya’s a good kid, but is he worthy? Yet he can’t stop thinking about the earnest passion, the innocent dream of saving people with a smile, combined with the resilience to still have such a dream after the world has clearly beaten him down. Hardly the grand ideal of changing the world like he had when Nana picked him. But there’s still something to that. So to make sure, Toshinori comes up with a test. If Izuku can clean a massive trash beach in time for the entrance exam, maintain his determination through the grueling slog of training, he’ll consider him for the quirk. Telling him about being All Might can come later.

I spent several hours yesterday just. Drawin ponies and makin headcanons after an offhanded thought i had abt changelings lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also a buncha headcanons under the cut also:
Thinking more abt Gossamare (changeling queen oc i just made up .5 sec ago). She was plenty ambitious, as most queens are, but her attentions were turned more towards making sure the Hive had stirdier, longer lasting structures. The reasoning was if there was less time being spent rebuilding their home after an attack, or if smthn just crumbled, than that was less stress and more energy that could be spent Elsewhere (like getting food). I think changelings were pretty nomadic as a species beforehand, and while Gossamare didn't introduce a sedentary lifestyle, it was still a fairly new thing, so permanent architecture wasnt really. Good. So it fixed that. Discovered changeling-equivalent concrete, except better bc it was also pretty damn flexible. And self repairing to some extent. Stole architecture from ponies. Even talked with celestia a few times (also fought celestia a few times) (bc she was stealing. It got cleared up but Still). Was stern and kinda strict but Fair. Left its hive in a pretty prosperous era, even if the queens after the next fumbled it kinda badly.
Genral timeline idea: crystal empire era -> [queens after it falls] -> [queen who became sedentary] -> [queen] -> [queen] -> Gossamare -> [2-3 generations of queens] -> Chrysalis -> Thorax (will be poking at this more as i figure out more changeling things, i want the crystal empire to be kinda far back in changeling history, a legend, but not quite mythical status)
Ideas:
• Changelings were nomadic, though they generally (peacefully) stayed around the crystal empire just bein buddies. Cue Sombra fuckin it, and bam. No more good food source and also their buddies are gone. And its Cold. Changelings skeedadle, become true nomads, separate into diff hives for whatever reasons and settle into different nations. Now following the hive that settled into equestria, changelings are. Wary. Decide to stay hidden. Prob the traditionalists+idealists who didnt want to stray too far from the empire in case it came back soon. They settle, roam around, til one day a queen just plops down and doesnt move. Thus the end of the nomad life, although changelings still have little satellite location away from the main hive. Just lil bases and shit yknow? Still not super fond of this enforced hiding thing, but reveals tend to always go super bad, if not from the get-go, then some shit happens later that usually kills the parties in question. So. Hiding it is.
• (Re; the crystal empire: canon says its been gone 1k years, but LUNA was gone 1k years, so ive decided its maybe like. 7k years for the crystal empire. Or just, longer than 1k!!! I want that to be a collective fail on Celestia AND Luna's part, not just Celestia)
• Theres probably stories in changeling history referring to crystal ponies, and a good portion of the empire's population are changelings, or have changeling heritage. Possibly when changelings intially fled, there were a good portion of crystal ponies among them, but their descendants are now just changelings (maybe with a slight sparkle, or having an easier time shifting into ponies.idk)
• When the Crystal empire returned, there definitely an awkward readjustment period, not only from Sombra's tyranny, but that a solid third or more of their population was now... disdained, to put it lightly, by other ponies and now also their new monarchs! And when they found out about the whole Canterlot wedding incident, well. They kept that to theirselves. Its not til Thorax is accepted as a citizen that the crystal ponies reveal that some of them are crystal changelings as well, and it goes over-! Pretty well! A little strained, and more awkward readjusting happens, but overall it goes well (Cadence is pretty sad that she made her citizens feel they had to hide this, but understands. Thorax is mildly upset but it puts some earlier events before that episode happening into better perspective)
• Queens generally die one of 3 ways: Being overthrown and killed, dying against an enemy, or starving bc the amount of love gained can no longer support their appetite. Generally the 3rd happening tends to cause the first, as sometimes those particular queens will start eating into the stores of love meant to support the hive as a whole, thus starving the entire hive along with her. So the hive kills her to stop that. Other times the queen will go out as gracefully as possible, either dying against an enemy in combat, or simply. Starving. Its stressful as fuck to watch, esp if the changeling respect that queen, even if its known to be the better of several options. Theyre generally pretty long lived (abt 500 years give or take) but when its over its Joever (at least until Thorax but not talkin abt that).
• Job is ya gender. Changeling language doesnt really have singular pronouns, mostly just [job][description][name] type deals. Queens have special pronouns though. Changelings have also adopted pronouns from other languages sometimes, but it tends to be more of a like. Curiousity than anything super serious

I’m gonna go ahead and guess you forgot the jack barlowe reveal 😂 this is really close to canon and I can seeeeeee the post-heist torture chamber from here and I’m not readyyyy😭😭
It’s so funny to see Xaden calling Violet a means to an end after the coronation and now getting so angry she’s putting herself in danger when that’s literally what he married her for is delicious. YOU REAP WHAT YOU SEW‼️
“I can’t live without you” 🥺🥺🥺 Violet is literally DW refusing to read the sign on the door. She won’t believe him until he outright says it but my heart hurts for him especially when she turned her back. Does he understand that she didn’t interpret it the way he meant it?
Bodhi is such a little snitch (I love him sm). At this point, everyone in Aretia must know Xaden is head over heels the way they’re all trying to apologize on his behalf 😭
Xaden must have felt to isolated being the ruler of Tyrrendor in the wake of their parents death and having to shoulder the weight of everything alone. I’m happy he has a partner in Violet and never has to be alone that way again.
I wonder what contingencies Xaden has in place to keep Violet safe.
Amazing chapter, as always 💕💕💕
I started writing this chapter, got a bit in, and then went “oh fuck” 😂 I’m thinking I might want him around for later lmao
Xaden definitely knows Violet didn’t take it the way he meant it, but seeing as they’re working on ✨boundaries✨ and ✨communication✨ and her body language clearly said she was done with the conversation, he decided to let it drop for now
Everyone is BEGGING Violet to put Xaden out of his misery and she’s just like. No. He did this. He’ll be fine.
Thinking about how lonely and heavy ruling alone was for Xaden makes me big sad, which is why we just focus on the fact that he has Violet now and nothing else 🥰
Thank you so much!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Negative Romys (bc I know there must be chill ones out there) @ Roguneto in Xmen 97: “NOOOOOO HOW COULD THE WRITERS DO THIS AND DESTROY ROGUE X REMY?! POOR GAMBIT!!!”
Me: *side-eying all of the Marvel material that clearly shows that Romy content severely outnumbering Roguneto content by a landslide and the same Roguneto content winding up being ruined anyway by later writers just because they can* “Ah, yes…poor Gambit…”
All jokes aside, I wonder if the Romys’ concern is that if Roguneto is positively received = somehow becoming canon in the comics later? Because I know Marvel (and DC) has a history of taking a few things that the movies/shows/ side comics have done that were well received by fans or were anticipated to be well received ahead of time by fans and sometimes the companies themselves and incorporating them into the comics later
(ex. X-23 from X-Men Evolution to actual comics, Tony Stark’s personality eventually just becoming Robert Downey Jr as a comic book character, Samuel Jackson!Nick Fury from Ultimate Marvel to MCU to secret son of original Nick Fury and goes by the same name, Magneto’s Helmet protecting him from telepathy in Xmen First Class Movie to comics, Comic!Rogue’s real first name being a combination of her movie self’s name and that actress’s first name, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver not being related to Magneto after all bc their movie selves weren’t, Gwen Stacy’s fun alternative existence as Spider-Gwen/Woman , Miles Morales’s (yay!) existence, Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki influencing the comic version of him to become a sad little meow meow, Age of Apocalypse’s version of Changling/Morph being brought into X-Men 97, etc)
, but if one truly counts all of the slight/significant changes Marvel Comics have made to the main timeline because of other material, it’s REALLY not a lot.
There’s no need for anyone who ships Romy (which I also ship in addition to Roguneto bc yay multishipping!) to feel threatened by potential romantic alternatives.
And just in case the romantic ships might be altered after all (not likely): if the Multiverse is a thing, maybe we consider it’s not the end of the world if the relationships in the X-Men animated universe is not 100% going to follow how they played out in the comics.
ALSO also, when all else fails, they can just develop their writing/art skills and make fix-it aus 😆
The chaotic neutral part of me actually kinda still hopes that enough people with get on board with Roguneto though so that the comics will see the enthusiasm for them and bring them back in the main universe and shake things up again or in one of the official alternate universes and give them the love and respect the pairing deserves 🤪
I really appreciate your comments. I suppose there could be concerns from the Romy contingent regarding this. Sadly, I think at this point corporate IP is too dedicated to keeping the status quo maintained as it is for the longest time.
I agree with you, I see her relationship with Magneto as brief trysts in the mainstream universe, and an occasional AU marriage reveal. I think that Rogue and Gambit will remain a couple in the mainstream universe despite this current twist in the '97 series. There's too much time and money spent into the material, merchandise, and story that's been built for Romy in reality across various media, and in the perception of people's memories which sometimes have a rosy nostalgic glow. It takes a lot to re-educate an audience and I don't see corporations having that time and patience.
Jean and Scott will always remain together. Meggan and Brian are a duo for all time. Sue and Reed Richards are going to stay married.
No matter what, the story will always return to that. In this reboot, I think it's to give Magneto an extra angle and further reason to stay at the mansion if you leave in doubt his and Rogue's activities on and off camera.
I think my biggest complaint is how there's a circling of the wagons around Rogue when anyone (but particularly Magneto) is interested in her. It frustrates me because I believe characters should experience a lot of different relationships. It builds for a more well rounded person in reality, and a better character in the story. But with Rogue, why isn't she allowed to have other romantic encounters? Why must there be a strange arguments about age, about experience? These are traumatized beautiful people with fancy abilities in a soap opera. With capes. (And occasional opera gloves)
In short, I believe that instead of one ship, a character deserves an armada. I agree, alternate universe pairings would be fun too!
I too enjoy drama and can't wait to see how the show plays out this romance.

The Wizards are Sad Pieces of Toast, change my mind.
The Wizards are this seasons big bad villains. Or, the attempt at villains, ig. The way they are introduced, set against all the other villains the Winx have already beaten, it sets the expectation for the audience that the Wizards are even more evil, cruel and dangerous than all the villains that came before. And I guess on paper they are. Theoretically they are responsible for the genocide on the Terrestrial Fairies, which is pretty horrifying. Even Faragonda doesn’t dare speak of them out loud. And initially that’s intriguing. But when we meet them properly, they are just so boring and ineffective in comparison to Valtor or the Trix. Or even Darkar and he mostly hung out in his creepy cave castle.
I like the Wizards entrance, sort of. I like that they initially are after Bloom and want to steal her power (we’ll disregard for a moment the fact we learned in season 1 that a fairy’s power can’t be stolen) and when they realise, she isn’t the one they were looking for, they just yeet her to the side. That’s funny and unexpected. Every other villain before was after Bloom, and now for the first time, she isn’t the main centre of attention. She’ll make herself into that, later. But back to the Wizards.
We quickly realise that the Wizards are just…ridiculous, not menacing. Their actions don’t live up to the expectation set by their introduction and I think that is the main problem I have with them. How am I supposed to take them as a serious threat when the first two thirds of the season, the Wizards spend their time essentially playing pranks on the Winx? All they do in their brief moments of screen time, is to stand around and complain about the Winx. Then they try to ruin the Winx reputation and get so angry over the people of Gardenia liking these girlies. How very high school mean girl of them. It gets to a point where even the Winx are just annoyed when the Wizards show up and treat them more like an inconvenience than the evil final bosses that they end up being. Well, unless the plot demands otherwise.
It doesn’t help that, until the Winx get Believix at the end of the sixth episode, the Wizards could beat them at any point, since they canonically created a spell that renders Fairy Magic basically mute. But they don’t do anything with their advantage. Instead, they are absent for a good chunk of episodes and then only start messing with the Love & Pet shop, for no other reason than that they don’t like the Winx and find them annoying. After Episode 7, when the Winx insta-defeated them, they just sometimes attack randomly, but not with any sort of plan they want to achieve. Even though Roxy is not very protected, like the Winx don’t organise a watch for her or coordinate schedules so that someone is always with her, the Wizards only try to kidnap Roxy once. Unsuccessfully, because they conveniently forget to take her powers that particular time.
At the end, when they reveal themselves to be the Big Evils after all, I couldn’t take them seriously, with all the silly bullshit they pulled. They don’t even have any memorable personalities either. I can’t even recall all their names: there’s Ogron and Duman. Gantlos? And??? I'm sure there's a fourth one, but I couldn't remember his name if you'd held a gun to my head.
Ogron, or more like budget Valtor, in a sad attempt to be the next “charming” villain, monologues all over the place, throwing around threats and sassy lines. When Valtor did it, at least he made his threats reality thus giving his words weight. Ogron just talks shit and then gets jobbed by the Winx.
Another aspect to the detriment of the Wizards is that we don’t really get to spend much time with them. In season one and season three we spend a good chunk of most episodes with the Trix and Valtor and get to know them, their plans, and personalities. That’s why they are so memorable. The Wizards don’t get the same treatment. We barely cut away to see what they are up to, and when we do, they mostly complain about the popularity of the Winx. I’m serious. These are our villains!
We never learn their plans either. Why do they want the Terrestrial Fairies powers so badly? Just to have it? Because that’s an evil villain thing to do? Why did they start the genocide in the first place? What is their end goal now? Why do they want the White Circle? What are they planning? The audience not knowing the villains plan is a problem. That’s our frame of reference for the stakes of the season. Whenever the Winx and Wizards fight, we should clearly know what happens should the Winx lose. When we don’t understand the Wizards ulterior motives, their actions become meaningless and confusing. I would go so far to speculate that there never was a concrete plan for them, writing-wise. They are just a trope, a vessel, a hinderance for the Winx to fill this season with something. They aren’t real characters.
Let’s look at their plan, or lack there-of: At first, they want to steal Roxy’s power, then they leave her alone for a bit, messing with the Winx instead. Then they suddenly forget about Roxy and want the White Circle. Then they play more pranks and inconvenience the Winx some more. And in the end, they want to destroy Tir Na Nog…for some reason??? Because the show needs an evil final boss? With the other villains in previous season, the audience always clearly understood what their next steps would be. That adds suspense and urgency, like “Oh no! The Trix are about to steal a codex, can the Winx stop them in time???” Because we understood, that if Darkar gets all Codex pieces, he would be super powerful and destroy the Magical Dimension, the audience understood the gravity whenever the Trix managed to steal another piece. Now granted, that’s not a particularly original plan, but that’s not the point. The Wizards just randomly show up to fight, not really following any plan, or rather, whatever this episode’s plot requires. They don’t have an overarching plan. I’d argue because they don’t need one, because they will lose at the end regardless, but there not being any really just makes the Wizards seem like nothing more than a mild inconveniences to the Winx. Depending on the episode, of course, and whether we need to bring in artificial tension.
The fact that they don’t even have a proper villain’s lair speaks volumes. The Trix had Cloud Tower in season one. Darkar had his fancy underground castle. Valtor first had his cave on Andros, then Cloud Tower. What do the Wizards get? An unspecified industrial looking area and then…the sewer. They hide out in the sewer. Ewwwww. They don’t have a creepy castle, nothing. They could have had a sort of Tir Na Nog foil, a creepy old castle maybe, or even lived in the Ruins of Tir Na Nog. No. They hide in the sewers of this random Californian town.
I cannot stress enough how the majority of the season the Wizards are just sad pieces of toast and then at the last minute, they are revealed to be the big bad final boss. Their tactic of feigning their surrender could have been interesting, but by that point they already had lost all their intrigue. The Winx had already won against them every time they fought, so why should I feel any sort of threat or danger?

I think the Hazbin equivalent to “stolitz” would be Husk x Alastor. Hear me out, this is an empathy exercise.
Alastor is a fan favourite, and one of Vivs favourites too with countless fangirls, he’s an all powerful, deceitful being who is tormenting lesser demons for his pleasure. He’s also silly, funny, and whimsical. But at the same time he is demonically powerful, victimises others and torments them. He is 100% the equivalent to Stolas in the story. But Al doesn’t have the sad boy moments or a cute Instagram to excuse him. Husks personality is very reminiscent of Blitz. Al baits him with alcohol, stolas baits him with money.
Husk or “Husky” is his favourite plaything to mess with, they have a deal where he has to work for him and provide sex to him, or else. Death and the end of the hotel. The fandom blame Husk for ever playing poker with Alastor. In this parallel Husk would be the Hotel Owner, a boss, who just wants to help other sinners with their unfinished business, to prove they can do it, but has to deal with Al first. Al would probably be a fallen exterminator who is bored and horny. The fandom say how cute Husk is around Al, how he can’t resist him even if he wants to, despite fighting back and hating him, and how Als racist remarks are just him being silly and not realising what he’s saying. In one frame Al yanks on Husks metal collar and Husk gets two black lines on his cheeks. Making everyone forget.
If in this case he is sexually attracted to Husk he constantly forces himself on him as part of the deal, the constant sex happening offscreen. It’s implied Husk uses weapons on Alastor. And while Husk rebuffs him, Al yanks on his ears or screams at him and his friends if or when he gets upset. Niffty would probably be the equivalent to an Octavia.
It’s later revealed that Alastor has his own deal with Lilith that victimises him. The fandom fantasise about Husk killing this “evil bitch” to save Alastor and make AlasHusk canon. They insist that it’s all Liliths fault Al is like this, and the AlasHusk fanart is off the charts. Despite all of the abuse we’ve just seen.
Now imagine Alastor singing a song about how he just wants Husk to look at him, never leave, that they’re bound by strings of fate.
That’s stolitz.
When you put it like that, it seems absolutely insane. And it is.

LYNEY & LYNETTE (GENSHIN)
Tumblr media
[CRASHES INTO YOUR LIVING ROOM] GREETINGS, I'M HERE TO TALK ABOUT OUR LORD AND SAVIORS, LYNEY AND LYNETTE
As you can imagine, they are not canon, but I'd argue they are the closest we have to siscon/brocon in all of Genshin. And the only playable twins (aside from Aether and Lumine)!!
Also, the post is gonna detail all about the new Fontaine quest, so SPOILERS ahead!
In the newest story quest, we first meet Lynette and shortly after her brother, Lyney. Right out the gate, it's clear they're very close. This is honestly the ONLY time a sibling relationship is this front and center, despite Genshin having other playable siblings. Lynette gives me tsundere vibes, and Lyney is your typical cheeky, charismatic magician. Lyney mentions he's surprised Lynette is talking to the player, as his sister typically only talks to him. We tease Paimon, our companion, for being talkative enough for the both of us.
Tumblr media
We take a ride together and, Lyney mentions it gets boring seeing the same scenery, and out of the blue, Lynette responds, "So you mean it's still boring even when I'm riding with you?" It's a strangely jealous sounding question, and considering Lynette is a bit deadpan and tsundere, I take it as Lynette wanting to get a response out of her brother. (Spoiler, this isn't the only time she says something like this!) Lyney is embarrassed and responds, it's because Lynette doesn't talk much, and how it feels like being at home, with just the two of them.
When we learn of a decades old case in Fontaine, revolving around young missing women, Lyney turns very serious and says, "I just imagined for a second what I would do if Lynette were to suddenly disappear... I'd pay any price to get her back and then find a way to track down the culprit." This is actually a bit of foreshadowing for what we learn about their backstory later on.
During the events of the game where Lyney is accused of murder and kidnapping a young woman (connected with the case of young missing women), we find out the twins are not just your friendly neighborhood magicians, but they are also working for the Fatui--an enemy faction, who have their roles behind many international plots. This upsets us but we still decide to defend Lyney and Lynette.
To prove their innocence, Lyney and Lynette reveal how their magic trick of swapping places with an audience member is done. Part of the trick involves Lynette briefly exiting the original box, disguised as Lyney, to pretend the swap hadn't worked, before Lyney steps out of the correct box and wows the audience. Lyney says, "I mean, we are twins. All it takes is a change of clothes and no one can tell who's who, hehe." The twins are twinning!!!
Tumblr media
Lyney reveals their tragic backstory, of how they became street orphans after their parents died. To provide for the two of them, he observed a street magician and learned a few tricks. He mentions, "But, I didn't want my sister to remain a street rat together with me forever." The way he words it feels so selfless--he's thinking of Lynette before himself. While they're twins, he's definitely her older brother, and in the Japanese dub, Lynette calls him "onii-chan" WHICH IS INSANELY CUTE.
The two of them became popular enough as street performers, they caught the attention of a rich noble, who adopted them.
Their sad story doesn't end there. Lyney explains the noble basically paraded them around in his social circles as entertainment. One night, Lyney realizes Lynette is not in the car with him to go home and waits for her all night. When she doesn't return, Lyney asks the noble about her and is told someone had taken a liking to Lynette. And so, the bastard actually gave his sister away. As a gift.
Tumblr media
I'll note here this is pretty intense for a Genshin scenario. The game is relatively PG, and while murder, etc, is talked about, and there are innuendos galore, we've never had straight up sexual abuse hinted at (as far as I know).
Lyney manages to find the location of his sister and sets out to save her. We see how young they are in this screenshot and by this time, they've already gone through this scenario--it's wild!!
Tumblr media
By the time Lyney gets there, Arlecchino has already killed the piece of shit noble and saved Lynette, along with several other young orphan girls found in the basement. They mention no harm had come to Lynette yet. Arlecchino is a Fatui Harbinger, and has an incredibly ruthless demeanor, but she does run the House of the Hearth, seemingly full of orphans she's recruited. She offers the two of them to join the House of the Hearth and is referred to as "Father" by the orphans.
I think Lyney and Lynette do get close to the other children, but in particular, they seem close with Freminet, and even introduce him as their younger brother. I love them!!!
This has been a monster post, and I haven't even gotten to the text lore or their personal quest. I'll save that for a part 2, but even though this post is excessive, I just NEEDED to absolutely gush how cute they are.

Platonic! Kunikuzushi x Fem! Creator! Reader.
(So I know I said I wasn’t going to write anything for the next two weeks, but consider this a cheat post)
I’ve finally decided that when I start writing again (in two weeks) that along with the updates to my current series, and the requests I’ve gotten, that I’m going to turn my Sagau Drabble into a series! It will be called “Golden Constellations”. This one shot is not canon to my series, it’s kind of like an au to my series.
Platonic! Kunikuzushi x Fem! Creator! Reader.
“” means talking, **means thinking.
Also words in purple is Kunikuzushi talking and words in blue is (reader) talking.
Kunikuzushi didn’t know a lot yet (give him a break, he’s still a child) but he did know that the people of Teyvat, no matter which nation that they’re from, loved and admired the Creator. Everyone from the oldest adept and gods, to the children just learning to talk, sang praises of the creator of life in Teyvat. The Creator often roamed the world blessing people with her presence (and on occasion, these awesome things called visions). He had yet to meet her but if his friend’s thought she was amazing, then he did too! Even his own mother, who he knew first hand was hard to please, adored and respected the Creator.
After his friends turned him away, Kunikuzushi felt lost, he felt alone and completely unlovable. He didn’t understand why no one ever stayed with him, why everyone he loved eventually cast him aside.
Kunikuzushi POV;
*Is there something wrong with me? There must be, why else would everyone abandon me? What is it? Can I fix it? I don’t want to be alone forever!* Just when the thoughts were running through his head, he heard a voice singing, it sounded so heavenly that he followed it through the forest, to a water fall. Next to the waterfall was a beautiful lady, with majestic (h/t) (h/c) flowing behind her as she sang to a fox that was napping in her lap. He was stunned, he couldn’t look away. Suddenly the lady looked at him with enchanting (e/c) eyes and waved him to come closer. When he sat down next to her she smiled and started humming the song she had been singing. Overcome with curiosity, Kunikuzushi asked the woman her name, to which she giggled a little and said “(Reader), it’s nice too meet you Kunikuzushi!” He was stunned *how did she know my name?!?* after talking with her for a while he learned that she was the Creator, and she learned how lonely he was. “Come travel with me, be my traveling companion.” She suggested to the puppet, and he agreed.
Third person POV;
After the two became closer, Kunikuzushi revealed his backstory to her and she was LIVID. (Reader) was just about to go talk to (read beat the living daylights out of) the Raidan Shogun, but Kuni, as she now affectionately called him, begged her not to.
(Years later)
Kunikuzushi finally knew what it was like to be loved, he still couldn’t believe that the Creator herself had chose him to be her “son” as she calls him. His own creator, his first mother, abandoned him without care, but the creator of everything (including his first mother) loved him and called him hers. He couldn’t be happier! But just like all good things, this too must come to an end.
Kunikuzushi had noticed (Reader) getting tired more quickly, and she seemed to grow paler by the day. One day she asked him to take a walk with her, which wasn’t out of the ordinary so why did he have a sinking feeling in his stomach?…..
“Kuni, my son, my heart…. There is something I need to tell you…” she said solemnly
“What is it mother?”
“Well, there is good news, you are going to be a big brother! I’m pregnant!” She said with a weary smile
“Really?!? That’s amazing!” He said, even though he was slightly worried that if she had children of her own that she’d forget about him.
“But then, why do you seem sad?” He said, she knew her well enough to know that she was hiding something.
“Because having a child will take a large amount of my celestial energy, meaning I might lose my physical form until I can recharge my magic. Which means that I might have to leave for a little while.” She said
Kunikuzushi’s eyes widened, and it took all his strength to not start sobbing. He knew that there was something wrong with himself! Why else would she be leaving him?!? Kunikuzushi was on the verge of a panic attack, when (reader) rapped her hands around him and hugged him.
“I will always love you! And you will always be my son. I promise to find you again when I come back.” She said while rubbing circles on his back to calm him down.
“You promise?” He said through tears
“I promise.” She said
(Centuries later)
“Well, so we meet again….Mother…. .” he said, the sentence dripping with venom
“Hello my son. I’m here as promised” she said gently
That’s when her lunged at her.
A/n; Let me know if you want a part two for this!

How are Garmadon and Kai (master of water) ? Does anything change about their relationship?
It depends on the time.
In the Pilot, Kai clearly disliked the guy for trying to kidnapp his sister. In the season 1, when Wu took Garmadon on the Bounty, Kai didn't trust him and just had an eye on him.
But later when Garmadon was cured, they were on good terms. Maybe they weren't close or anything, but from time to time they'd talk about Lloyd. Also Garmadon & Misako were curious, why Lloyd called Kai and Nya his siblings, so they started talking more.
And since we're talking about Garmadon-
I want to talk about his and Misako's character in my AU, since their relationship is much diffrent from the canon.
I want to say that their relationship is basically based on the ship #destructivedragonshipping / #theydeservedbettershipping
So if any of you aren't familliar with it, then here's the link to the explanation [and probably the creator of this ship, sorry I'm not 100% sure] :
(btw. beautifull art..)
Ok, so since you know about what I'm talking about now, I'll continue.
In my au Misako & Garmadon met on the battle field and fell deeply in love. They both deeply loved each other and wanted to settel down and start a family.
They got married. Misako started working as an archeologist and soon they had a beautifull son together. Unfortunatelly they happily life couldn't last for too long.
[Venom]
Over time, the power of the snake's venom in Garmadon only grew stronger and stronger, having more and more control over Garmadon's mind and heart.
Through the years Wu & Misako fully suported him, being by his side when the worse thoughts were comming to his mind, telling him things that he should do and making him go even deeper to the dark side-
They were always by him, but the 'attacks' were unpredictable.
But with time Garmadon was slowly becomming weaker and weaker to fight 'those thoughts' inside his head.
[The Loss]
At one point, when Garmadon was the weakest a voice told him 'Steal the golden weapoons' 'Do your worst' 'Rule the world' 'You need that' 'You deserve that-'
So when the time came and as Garmadon tired to steal the weapoons, he came across his brother, who, even though he didn't want to fight him, had to fight him.
During their fight in the end Garmadon was send to the Realm of Madness, which left Wu & Misako devastated.
The whole thing had happend, when Koko was at home with Lloyd, so she didn't even knew, until Wu told her.
After that Misako's & Wu's friendship started tearing apart.
The loss of Garmadon had a big impact of both of them. Wu was broken after loosing his brother, but didn't let himself even that 'distract' him form focusing on his mission.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Misako took Wu's behavior very badly, thinking he was disrespecting Garmadon and even accusing him of not loving his brother.
After that they went they separated ways and didn't talk with each other for many years. [The bad taste remained for a long time.]
[New Problems]
With Garmadon gone, Misako was devastated and sad.. But even though that pain she was strong and determined woman.
While working, taking care of young Lloyd she started looking for a way to fix everything.
Koko could work for hours at night and prepare in scrolls, prophecies and chieroglyphs a way to get back and cure her husband of that devilish poison.
She knew that with this venom with which they had been fighting together for years.. It won't let her husband life in peace.
In the meantime her identyti as the Lady Iron Dragon was revealed to the entire public in the news and all her past enemies started comming after her and Lloyd.
Misako afraid of Lloyd's safety decided to distance herself from him to ensure his safety, so she send her son to school.
She couldn't have send Lloyd to his uncle after their 'argument'. Misako continued to hold great resentment over Wu's behavior.
At the beginning it was hard for her to find a school that would accept her son. After her identity was reviled and Lloyd was known as Garmadon's son it was hard got anywhere.
Fortunately Darkley's 'nice school' was able welcomed them with open arms. Back then Misako wasn't aware of the fact this school was to teach evil.
That's also why they were very found of Lloyd the son of Garmadon.
After that Misako set out on her own 'journey' with the pain of leaving her child behind. To keep in touch she decided to write letters to her son once a week.
Originally it was supposed to be short. As soon as her enemies were gone, she'd come back for Lloyd. Unfortunately, there was no indication of this and when she came across the green ninja's prophecy, everything got even worse.
And that's the story in short.
Fun facts:
During Lloyd's life in school excitedly counting down the days until the next letter from his mother arrived.
When Misako realises that her son run away form the school, she starts to look for him, until she recived a letter form Wu that Lloyd was with him.
When Wu & Misako met again in season 2, they anger is long gone. They clearly regret how things ended up and that they didn't have a proper talk.
After Garmadon was send to the Realm of Madness, he was still able to enter their world through the shadow.. So when Lloyd was in school he often visited him.
Llody used to play with the shadow of his father not even knowing it was his father. He called him Mr. Shadow.
Garmadon often watched in silence through his shadow how Koko was overworking herself just to help him. He never dared to speak to her or make her notice him.
There were few times when he wanted to touch his wife's hair thought his shadow, but always backed out at the last moment before he could try.
