luke skywalker is neurodivergent headcanons
disclaimer: i have ADHD and a lot of this is based on my own experiences. it's just my opinion and a fun way to take a look at this character in a new light.
shoutout to this post which inspired this. these are SFW except for a few jokey jokes
without further ado:
he's pretty hyperactive and it shows up in a lot of ways. thrill seeking (bullseyeing womp rats in my t16!) is definitely one of them, but i also just think he has a very hard time being still. he's constantly fidgeting - bouncing his legs, drumming the table, tapping his toes.
when he learns how to meditate it's a huge moment. he's finally able to quiet his mind, which has always felt like a speeder racing through the sands.
he likes to draw/doodle to maintain attention in strategy meetings. they tend to be filled with straight lines and a little sketchy, but can sometimes be quite detailed
he misses social cues sometimes. he's pretty great with people, but sometimes they'll make a joke or a saying and he'll completely miss it, or take it hyper literally
(yes this would lead to HILARIOUS innuendo potential)
do you want luke to talk to you for HOURS? ask about his special interests!
he knows LITERALLY EVERYTHING about ships. like to an absurd degree. he probably lectures han constantly about proper upkeep for the falcon
but he probably also has really random, unexpected ones and just blurts out fun facts anywhere he goes. (honestly i could see one of his love languages being fun facts.)
ofc he's pretty impulsive. (hello ESB.) part of his evolution as a jedi is learning to control his impulses; learning to evaluate them, to stop and think before he acts.
he has sensory processing issues but in unexpected ways. i think of it more as a hyper-sensitivity to the Force.
here's an example. so as a Rebellion soldier, i think this would be at its worst after a large battle/dogfight. he would definitely be (sub)consciously picking up all of the heightened emotions - fear, relief, grief, elation. the Force would probably be going insane and he would be picking up on it ALL
especially before his jedi training, it's a whole lot to deal with all at once and very confusing. in this way, it'd present similar to sensory processing issues. he'd struggle especially with sound; if things are too loud he'd just shut down. after a battle he needs a blanket a hot drink and sleep <3 (also maybe sex)
he struggles with properly articulating how he feels. he can get flustered easily and feel like the words won't quite make it out, or that his brain is working far faster than he can process.
he's not naturally inclined to routine but thrives in it. he always wakes up early partially out of habit and partially because he finds it comforting

I have finally made a proper ref that I will use for a Jack most of the time. My first illustration of them was a random selection of colors I was just trying to pull off of images that were inaccurate due to lighting.
They're gray turned purple. The coppertones were far too dark in some areas, and too light in others. His complex face colors were misunderstood due to just not understanding them yet. Giving him a darker nose instead of a yellow one. And overall the design was mismatched. It was more about the illustration than it was the colors.
This one is more about my personal preference, and a far better understanding of how Jack's colors works. Given my intense study of their colors a couple days ago. I was able to make a ref that not only had the correct colors. But had them in a fashion that I enjoyed.
I used his yellow nose much more prominently. Drawing it out around his eye and using it for a cheek. I got rid of all the complex blacks and purples and just chose one and the weird purplish blue. Only using the unique darker purple for highlights here and there. Got rid of that weird light copper pink, and just replaced it with the pure copper. His pants are going to be a little bit different when I actually draw them. This simplified grid pattern will be a lot more sketchy and thready when I actually do it. But these are the major colors I'm using.
I honestly love this design much more. What's I was able to add some cutesy other things into it. Like freckles!

Molluck Anatomy Practicing

Man, it happened again... I just had to draw before going to sleep but yeah, finished after sleeping. I should try to do more sketchy sketches but it just happens that I just gotta do details and stuff... I still cannot really stand my line art, so I gotta kinda hide it under shading and stuff...
I'm not good at anatomy but I'm doing my best to learn it, though it's trickier here since Molluck ain't easy to draw... He got so long arms that I kinda had to make him have an odd pose to have at least one hand visible... My original sketch just didn't have big enough hands, so after fixes, I just had to accept this situation. I feel like I'm still not drawing his body proportions right... Also, just some weeks ago I realized that I have drawn his hands incorrectly multiple times, his fingers I mean... It just feels like I keep learning new things about him...
But well, this one feels like the best one so far. I guess that at least after getting that proper (poseable) 3D Molluck model done I start to understand how his anatomy, proportions and such work... I just see that there's something wrong with the anatomy and pose here but well, I just need to practice more. Though, it's kinda difficult to pose his legs since well, they are pretty dead, atrophic from not being used... I wonder if he is even able to move them, even a bit, or do they just hang around... But his odd little legs are somehow endearing, at least for me. Also yeah, I don't know why but Molluck looks somehow confused here... Like he had just woken up.
Oh, and this did remind me of one older traditional sketch similar to this I have never shown:

You can see him having incorrect hands here but it's just the amount of joints in his fingers. I might like the style better here but his body has more problems here.
Oh, and I just feel like adding that sometimes I just think about that how there seems to be less 'Molluck thirst' than it used to be like 3-2 years ago. Well, I can get it but mine hasn't faded away, at all, just getting 'worse'... Man, after two months it's been 3 years of Molluck for me. It just feels like I finally have found the right one for me. Getting into the Emperor (BG3) just strengthened this feeling since I just saw how strong my feelings for Molluck are, preventing me from really having other characters around me. Though, the Emperor only started to interest me because his appearance reminded me of Molluck (and I love octopuses) but he is still my favourite character in that game and I love him but only as a friend. (I even bought the whole game because of him... But it was worth it and I'm currently doing my 5th playthrough...)
I do understand if someone thinks that I'm 'crazy' or something since yes, I do am crazy about Molluck! Also, I'm used to be seen as 'odd', like my whole life, so yeah, it's just what I am. It's just that Molluck is so 'me', like I have said many times; he felt like me as a Gluk and that's what got me into him. I remember feeling nothing toward him when I saw him for the first time, both in AO and SoulStorm. I'm just kinda immune to appearance stuff... Someone can look pleasant but eh, it evokes no desire in me. I don't even wanna call someone beautiful before knowing the person. Stereotypically 'hot' people look even ugly to me... Well, I often see that I have different opinions than the others but I don't even find Molluck ugly, even he is kinda meant to be ugly, at least to humans, since the SoulStorm art book calls him ugly and says that he is even uglier now, but he is said to be attractive by Glukkon standards, so... Well, I seem to be attractive by 'human standards', so a good match, eh? I have said this earlier but I have just heard from multiple people that I'm (very) handsome... I don't even know what to do with my appearance, it's just for identifying me, what else it needs to be... I mean, I'm not even interested in looking attractive, just pleasant enough for myself.
I don't know what has made the others thirsty for Molluck but, like I said, my reason was that I saw myself in him and only after that his appearance catched my attention. But even it was so, man, he do is such a beautiful Gluk! And well, even if there do are some difficulties due to his body since it limits him, there are ways to deal with it and I'm glad to help him out; he can give big hugs and kisses! I still honestly don't know about these terms, like what he is to me, thought many terms can exist at the same time but the main one I mean... I prefer friend-like love but it's more than that still... Romantic love is something like seeing the other as ideal, not about true love, just being in love, if I have understood correctly (I have seriously needed to read multiple definitions for it and I'm still not sure...). I see that Molluck isn't perfect and I don't want him to be perfect either but he is perfect one for me still. I'm basically trying to say that I don't really feel like using this 'fictional other' term like many self-shippers seem to use since it doesn't describe mine well enough. Well, whatever, I just love this Gluk so much!

god i love the thematic weight carried by stede’s plant
because there are two things that are true here: 
- under stede’s care and on his ship, that plant thrived. it was in better condition when we see it in e9 as evidence of stede’s Very Real Pirate status
- he stole that plant from poor fishermen and not some rich(er) fuck, which is punching down and admittedly sketchy when you think about it for long
even better: the first being true does not negate the second, and the second being true does not negate the first.
with the first lens, the plant is sort of a metaphor for how stede’s ship is a place that allows the crew to become themselves and be a crew (a family, even) versus a loose assemblage of people, technically sharing a common cause but more often finding themselves at cross purposes and working their own angles. 
with the second, it reminds us that stede only bought that ship and provided that space by abandoning his family without warning and selling off some of the stolen land mary brought into the marriage. not to mention, that stede was only viable husband material because he brought his family’s equally ill-gotten cash along with him. 
(they’re both white and upper class, but she’s got the land and he’s got the possibly new money; a capitalist love story as old as capitalism itself. gotta keep ‘em separated while you keep the money where it’s already fucking at, etc.)
stede’s s1 journey is complicated; in order to appreciate him as a whole person, we have to acknowledge that the reason stede was born into money and wields social power as a matter of course— even while he is also marginalized and traumatized by that very same society— is a legacy of horrors so comprehensive they run the gamut from a to z on every horrible thing one human being can do to another. 
it’s not stede’s fault; it is his reality. and that’s part of why i’m so fucking excited for s2. because the plant is definitely a good representation of his s1 arc of moving from believing the shadows on the wall are real and not just flickering representations, but he's only just woken up to the real world and is ready to find his place in it. he’s rejected the money and the status, faked his own death in a way that implies he won’t be going back to his old self ever again, and now he can figure himself out on his own terms, not society’s.
which means the plant is a symbol of growth, but also of privilege and stede’s own blindness to how that privilege changes the world he experiences and in some ways, makes it easier to move through than the world the people around him are also experiencing at the very same time.
(as a canon example of how that works, just because i was discussing it recently and it’s top of mind: that french captain could have said plenty of things to remind stede he is not a man in the way the world wants him to be. he could have insulted stede, made him feel shitty or like less of a proper man; he could not call upon a history and experience of the world that means a lot of people think stede is closer to being an animal than he is, simply because of the color of his skin.
real world example to help explain the canon example, since i know this isn’t always instinctive: here in the united states we had two presidents, one after another, that people liked to draw in political cartoons as monkeys. the first was george w bush, who is a white man with big ears; the second was obviously obama. and no matter intent, or what anybody said about why they decided to present a black man as a monkey or the size of obama’s own ears, that use of imagery called upon a long and ugly history of racism in a way that could never be used against dubya. even a lack of intent or having no personal knowledge of the particulars can't defeat that history.)
so anyway, s1 stede is the plant: growing stronger, healthier, but in circumstances that become complicated and hard to ignore when you consider how and why they came about. 
s2 stede, i’m assuming, is taking cues from the orange (as it is his favorite thing, now) because the orange was a gift freely given, obtained because all the things great and not so great that combine to make stede the complicated, lovely but also sometimes Just... So Much person that he is meant that jim got their family back and the reassurance of knowing that nana sees and accepts them for who they are/was more upset about how many bodies were not dropped than pronouns changed.
he’s gonna do so many gay crimes and learn who he is and reunite with ed so that ed can learn who he is in tandem, because that’s love. even when someone's A Lot, they’re family, and you give them the room to grow alongside you already assuming they might need it.

Heck I don’t actually remember if Pure Vanilla/Dark Cacao was a request or if it was something I just planned to do on my own. I know it started out as my own idea, but sometimes that happens and then before I get to doing it, someone requests it and I just make it a request, and I don’t remember if that happened here
But regardless, this was a drawing I made of the idea for a purecacao fankid on it’s own, and I’m posting it as such
Now you’ll notice that this isn’t my usual format. This is because this isn’t her official design, it’s just that last night, I had this idea for a design of her as a young child with Dark Cacaoian clothing, and so I just wanted to make a quick doodle to show you
It was just going to be that picture in the middle, as it’s more sketchy and rough, and clearly not how I usually do these fankid requests. However when I finished, I realized that I made her too small. See, if I may explain some things, for my poorly drawn comics and other things that use that particular brush (it’s the Narinder Pencil if you want to know), and I don’t like enlarging pictures drawn with it because the lines get all blurry and it loses its texture. Prior to the Charcoal Cheese comic, for my poorly drawn comics I tended to enlarge the sketch to fit the screen, and then I’d completely redraw the lines. But here, I had already colored the whole thing, plus it was multiple layers to redraw, so I didn’t want to. But I couldn’t just crop down the canvas to fit it because my square canvases are already 500x500 pixels, they’re very small (and also I think the small size might account for why they may not show up in the best quality, but I’ve been using this size for over 2 years and I’m set with it, and I feel like changing would be too much effort). And I feel like making it even smaller would just tank the quality even more
Though to be honest, I’m glad I made a second version with my proper sketching process, as I was better able to figure out her colors and design
Speaking of her design, yeah this is sort of what I’m thinking for her look, at least in terms of hair, dough and eye color. She’s not gonna keep the braid though, that’s just a kid thing
I feel like maybe I should give her streaks, but I’m not sure where to put them or what color
Also I realize that I forgot to put KitKats on her design. I wasn’t planning to originally since this is a little kid’s outfit, but also in some of the artbook drawings, young Dark Choco had small Oreo shoulderpads, so maybe she should have something similar. I had an idea for her wearing tiny KitKat shoulderpads, but I forgot them. Ah well
Hmm, does she look like a purecacao kid? I’m looking at her and I feel like she looks more like her own character than related to them. Maybe it’s the lack of streaks
Oh yeah, and one more thing I want to add, I’ve decided she’s a post-canon kid, as in Pure Vanilla and Dark Cacao got together after the events of the Dark Flour War and canon in general. The story in my head goes that Dark Cacao developed feelings for Pure Vanilla, but was hesitant to tell him about it, maybe because he’s socially awkward and wasn’t sure how to, maybe because Pure Vanilla and White Lily had something going on and he didn’t want to stir up drama between them. But regardless, Dark Cacao felt that it wasn’t so much of a big deal since they were immortal, he could tell him when he felt it was right. But then the Dark Flour War happened and Pure Vanilla seemingly died, with Dark Cacao never telling him how he felt. But then years later, Pure Vanilla came back, and while Dark Cacao was of course overjoyed, it also caused him to realize that even being immortal, they don’t have all the time in the world, and he needed to tell Pure Vanilla how he felt, and so during the events of Odyssey, he confessed to Pure Vanilla, and then likely sometime after Dark Enchantress’s defeat, they got together, and later had this girl
Also this means she has a (probably) 30+ year older brother in Dark Choco, but it’s all good
I feel bad just keeping her unnamed, but I don’t know what to call her. *sigh*
Any suggestions?
But yeah, I just wanted to show y’all this idea. Don’t know when I’ll be finishing her, but I’ll draw her officially at some point

Headcanons about RWS/TTTE characters' idea of geographic identity, inspired by an earlier thread about engines identifying with their class vs railway vs works location vs country or state.
Thomas I think sees himself as a Sudrian engine through and through. Whatever interesting circumstances brought him to the NWR by accident, they happened very early in his life, and the best I can tell it seems like he's a weird experimental E2 with a shortened wheelbase or something? So possibly he was always intended to be shipped off somewhere else for the war effort. Instead he found himself on a railway full of leased engines and ones inherited from the railways merged into the NWR.
Edward was built in Scotland, but if you asked him I think he'd say he was a Furness Railway engine, and he supposed English if it came down to it - not necessarily out of any stigma against being Scottish but because of a sense that his home was more important than his birthplace. However looking at the roster of F.R. Engines... jeez, there's a lot of Sharp, Stewart, and Co. and North British Locomotive Company engines. Makes me think maybe the F.R. had more Scottish influence than Edward ever realized because he went from Glasgow to a railway full of other Glasgow-built engines from the same works as him. He's an engine of the NWR now, but Edward had to watch his railway slowly die to grouping from right next door, and he certainly considers the few other surviving Furness engines family.
Henry, like Thomas, uhh... doesn't feel much connection to his roots. He was a one-off, and given that whoever built him was using stolen Gresley plans but due to some combination of being built from drawings that weren't built by Gresley for a reason and his builders changing things to make it less obvious that they ripped off Gresley without knowing what they were doing, they messed him up. I imagine there was some... secrecy around his construction and he was not really socialized with other engines at whatever sketchy shop built him or on any railway, until they managed to offload him to some desperate sucker in a top hat who'd take any cheap engine.
However, Henry then ended up around Gordon, who's a proud Gresley Doncaster Engine, and probably a bunch of the early-NWR loaners had siblings they were built alongside back on their home lines. Pre-rebuild I imagine he felt like he was missing out on that sense of belonging and missed being a proper brother to Gordon. So aside from physically being healed by his Crewe rebuild, I think Henry really liked having a proper "Works Family," and would have stayed in touch with them. Sadly I'm not sure who among those are still around - it looks like while a bunch of Black 5s were preserved the only Crewe one not built in the 1940s was No. 5000, who was built in March 1935 and would probably have been out the door very shortly after Henry arrived.
Gordon is the one out of the first six NWR engines who feels the strongest connection with his Works. Gordon takes his "family name" and heritage quite seriously, not just out of gloryhound tendencies but because he was a prototype who was never given a proper number on his railway and essentially used for testing, but he was there for a couple years and got to interact with his siblings before going to Sodor.
James on the other hand, despite having like a decade-long career on the LY&R and then a couple years on the LMS, really doesn't feel connected to it or the Works that built him. James was an experimental prototype like Henry, Gordon, and Thomas, that was offloaded to the NWR for cheap, but James is a deeply insecure and status-conscious engine, and even if I think he was in denial that his design was deemed unsuccessful and the LMS didn't want him for a long, long time, he subconsciously knew. He's an engine who really wanted individuality but was treated like a bog-standard goods engine. Then he got a rebuild that made him "special" and "improved," but instead of being treated like that he was painted black (i.e. the cheapest paint color and the one that dirt doesn't show up on so you don't have to clean an engine as often) and given wooden brake blocks. Honestly the more I think about his pre-Sodor history the more I'm convinced that so much of what's wrong with James is trauma-related. He's desperate to be one of the "important" engines and to be valued and cared about, and I'm suspicious that it's in large part because he was not worth maintaining properly to his previous owners.
And the thing is, James is an engine who reacts to any slight against his ego with defensiveness and anger. I think out of anyone in the main NWR fleet James would feel resentment towards his old railway and builders, and if pressed say they didn't deserve to have his name associated with them.
Percy is the weird little industrial franken-engine who was sold and modified and rebuilt so many times that he doesn't know what he is anymore. I think before Sodor he didn't really have enough of a connection with anywhere to think of it as "home," and he had friends at his various old workplaces but no real family until he came to Sodor.
Then I think there's kind of a cultural divide, where in one way or another most of the early-NWR engines acquired pre-nationalization other than perhaps Edward think of themselves kind of like adopted children - whether they were given up at "birth" like Thomas or Henry, at an early age like Gordon, bounced around like Percy or were tossed aside like James. But post-nationalization they started getting steam engines who'd had much longer careers and had a home railway, and felt more like immigrants or refugees from somewhere else.
Toby I think still identifies with the tramway and harbor where he used to work with his siblings, and out of anyone on the NWR he might be most likely to refer to himself as English.
Duck is, of course, Great Western. He at the very least, even if this isn't universal GWR Culture, believes Railway is more important than Works or Country to an engine's identity, and would strongly discourage making distinctions between the many batches of 5700-Class engines based on whether they were built at Swindon or somewhere else. He became even more of a GWR Patriot after Nationalization, and in his mind if he resents anyone it's the British Rail "outsiders" who took over and messed up his perfectly good railway.
Donald and Douglas are, of course, Scottish. Not Caledonian Railway, even though that was their origin, Scottish. Which kinda makes sense because even if they originated on the Caledonian Railway and were part of it for over a decade, most of their 50-year pre-Sodor lives were spent Post-Grouping on the LMS, and then on the Scottish Region of British Rail.
Oliver is also Great Western, but I agree with others who've said he seems less attached to that identity than Duck, possibly due in part to another decade of being on BR and being officially withdrawn and marked for scrap. Like, he enjoys having the Little Western, but if Duck wasn't on the NWR or he'd escaped to some other heritage line where he was the sole ex-GWR engine I think he might have just gone "I'm part of your railway now."
But what about the diesels? Uhh... I think post-Nationalization because classes of engines were built in multiple locations and sent all over BR, and many classes were big, there was much less regional or railway or even in some cases class identity. Engines from smaller classes might consider all their classmates siblings, but larger classes such as the Class 08s might not. I don't know if Diesel or Mavis would consider a Class 08 or Class 04 built in a different batch at a different works to be family.
...and then there's America, and uhh, I think locational/cultural/regional identity in the US would be at just as much of a clusterfuck for American locomotives as for humans.

Hello, I love your DP sketches! Did you make your current sketchbook yourself, or did you buy it? What does it look like? (How many pages, the dimensions, etc?) Also, do you do any preliminary pencil sketches beforehand, or do you sketch completely in pen? I don't mean to bombard you with questions; I'm an artist myself looking to get back into sketchbooking and I'm totally impressed by yours.

I make most of my sketchbooks! It's just easier than finding a new one I like every time lol. My current one as of answering this question is a planner from before I was born that was found in the garage, but the last... three? I think? Possibly (probably) more.
My sketchbooks are 6'x4.5' (roughly) and have 160 pages + end pages because my favourite paper for them is small dollar store spiral-bound sketchbooks by DaVinci.
They look like this:

I remove the spiral binding and slice the holes off the pages, then fold them into either eight signatures of five or ten signatures of four and stitch them together into a hardcover book that's of perfect size to fit into my pockets or a little purse I have :)
...Which is admittedly entirely a coincidence and, in fact, simply a pleasant bonus that comes with my paper choice lol.
I bind the book verrry standardly other than the fact I often use tape for the spine and use literally as little glue as possible during the process because man fuck having to glue 10 things when you can do 5.
I sew the end pages in as their own signatures, glue the spine, glue some paper to the spine to make it sturdier (able to be combined with step before but not recommended), and glue the cover of the book.
I do sketch completely in pen though! Sometimes I sketch in other things too but I have a horrible habit of not erasing unless absolutely necessary so it's just... more sensible to me to sketch in pen unless I'm doing a real fancy piece like a watercolour painting- therefore not in my sketchbook lol.
I think there's a total of... 2 pages in my current sketchbook that have drawings not in pen? and that's entirely because I didn't have a pen ++ I treated them exactly the same as doing with pen.
If I'm going to colour them I usually decide that afterwards! Then I don't care about the sketchiness of the pen showing, or if I do I take a picture of the drawing and go over it with proper lineart/resketch it digitally but I honestly really recommend pens. My favourite ones are from the dollar store lol

Hello all you happy autobots and welcome back to My issue by issue look at Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye, one of my faviorite comics ever.
And with this one we finally have done it and finished covering the material I covered previously in my pride schedule. I didn't recycle any jokes or material from those for these reviews mind you, but it's nice to be able to start covering the rest of the series and the next arc is perfectly if accidently timed for winter.
That said we still have one issue left of Liars A to D before we leave the starting line, another death, and some light gunplay. So join me under the cut for all that.

So we open with a flashback to how Shock died. Turns out they got who died wrong. He does find it a tad ridculous that after surviving a whole ass war his brother died being melted into an engine, but does give him a sendoff with his innermost energon.

Innermost Ennergon is another bit of world building from James. It's one of the best things about the comic: that instead of just using what was there he also adds in bits about transformers biology, customs, terminology, the sort of stuff that most transformers properties don't dig into, but they should more often. As for what it means, I thankfully have the TFWiki to remind me: it's the energon nearest to the spark, energy that remains no matter what else changes abotu the transformer, i.e. alt mode, body that sort of thing. One of the core parts of them.
As for the ritual itself, that's something I did remember: it's a due to the dead using something that's a part of one's essence to send off someone you deeply care about. It's a great idea and one I hope the shows pick up eventually.
Not so great are the Duobots themselves. Turns out they were spies for Prowl and Shock was down there trying to attach a tracer to the engines only to die.. and Shock deletes ore's cal lhistory then dies by sparkeater himself. The sparkeater.. is a floating aobomination that sucks out the brain module to easily take out the spark. Why it does that.. we'll get ot in am oment. For now we're back where we left off and Rodimus' reaction is

He quickly urges everyone but who he needs to get a hab suite and don't ask questions and don't leave.. then plans to lock them down as disobeying a direct order.. is exactly what he'd do. Because apparently when Captain Kirk died he reinccarnated as a transformer.
Meanwhile Tailgate, whose still trapped with his legs in alt mode from the last issue because he was transforming, a gag I completely forgot to mention, sees Cyclonus and is happy he recognizes somebody. A meet cute for the ages.
At the autopsy, which is something I don't say often but will say at least a few times during this retrospective, everyone else is chittering about it being a sparkeater while Ratchet is mad their all upset about some sort of bogeyman. They just need to follow proper Boogeyman procedure ratchet

Chromedome DOES point out WHY the brain was removed though: it's rossum's trinity, or the three most vital parts of a transformer: The Transformation Cog, the Brain Module and the Spark. Essentially a transformers brain, heart and soul. Take out one the rest shut down. Hence why it was quickly cut instead: it paralized the victim without actually killing him. Ratchet concedes the sparkeater is real or at least something like it is. Needing more info then "Well the cruel horrifying beast stalking us .. exists", Rodimus engages in one of his first shady actions of the work and asks Chromedome to brainhack the corpse. I do love Roddy but one draw of the comic is that he's not a perfect hero: he sometimes fucks up or makes decisions that aren't terrible, but are sketchy as all hell without any thought as to the consequences.
It's great morally grey writing: asking Chromedome to hack the corpses brain IS a necessary act, they need to know more about this thing.. but it's still iffy to ask someone trying not to be secret brain police anymore to do this again and essentially back them into a corner to hwere they can't say no. It does what Robots In Disguise was TRYING to do at the same time btu repeatedly failed at: have the characters make sketchy questionable decisions. But here instead of making Rodimus look llike a moron it simply makes you question him as a leader, and if thi sis just a slip up.. or a sign he's willing to make more compromises that may not be the best for the crew. The results area bitch sketchy (I love tha tpun) but at least show us what the monster is.
We then get this gutbuster of a scene I can't beleiive I didn't notice that closely the first dozen or so times i've read this issue:

We also get that green guy whose design I like. While his bio says he's hoist (he's the guy who fished out Cyclonus last issue), i'm going with Steve. I dunno he just looks more like a Steve. Steve Hoist. Yeah that sounds better. Cyclonus promptly just dumps his new friend/love intrest into the hab suite.
We next get back to Skids and Swerve who instead find a bar. Yes folks this is the secret origin of Swerves, and since it has energex distilleries (i.e. fuel what also is booze), it means the dream can become a reality. Allgedlys, Swerve was friends with Blur, a similarly chatty bot and the two were going to start a bar together and since Blur is busy in "Robots Yelling at Each Other while Starscream Easily Flies Circles Around Their Dumb Asses.. in Disguise", Swerve's gotta do this alone. Drift decides to go do some exploring, admitting he sees his amensia as a fresh start to figure out who he is and be whoever he wants to be.. though he does admit Skids and Swerve DOES sound pretty cool.
Back to the lab again and things.. arne't great> Chromedome isn't doing well since as he once told tailgate "The worse the death, the worse the memory" but they have a positve id.. problem is the sparkeater is now more active now it's gotten some food in it's belly well, so our heroes are up shits creek. Rodimus plans to stay with drift, figuring he'll be the brightest spark, while the rest go to go search for him, as shooting the creature may kill them all
Naturally of course, the person who finds them.. is Whirl

Who locked Atomizer out of their shared hab suite. As for who Atomizer is.. he's a read guy with a bow. I only mention him because, as I didn't know this first readthrough, he WILL be important later, it just wont' be for several years real time. Whirl saves his life but before he can kill them all Trailbreaker shows up and throws up a force field. That's his thing. We'll see more of him later as while he's not MAIN cast he does get a spotlight issue and is prominent in the first arc of season 2.
Turns out though the Sparkeater is actually going for Rung.. and it brings up somethign I love: this comic REALLY sets shit up well: While we won't know WHY his spark is brightest till the very last arc, it begins setting up an air of mystery around rung, while obfusticating it with Drift's theory that it goes after the person with the most trauma… so you don't question WHy a therapist has a brighter spark than several trained warriors.
Swerve's venting around in the vents saves him, and we cut to Tailgate and Cyclonus who gives a TECHNICALLY true version of history that paints the Decpticons in a good light: they rose up against a corrupt system while the Autobots wanted a more oderly transition of power that still ended with them in charge. It's not ENTIRELY wrong but it misses the nuance, i.e. the deciptcons soon sinking to being as bad as the people they replaced just in a diffrent way. It is nice though as it both sets Tailgate down a path for one heck of a cliffhanger at the end of the issue.. and sets us up as how cybertron used to work.. is a HEAVY part of this comic and the centerpiece of three diffrent arcs and a good chunk of the characters backstories.
Back with Team Rodimus, Rodimus has a plan…. have Swerve bring rung there and then grab him and use him as live bait

TBF he does take most of the risk himself, quickly dropping Rung and then slamming the monster into the engines, and thent urning them on… merging it with the engines in a nice payoff to the quantum engines things.
Magnus finds the action reckless and distateful. Granted he finds not answering coms right away reckless and distasteful but he has a point: he dosen't care if Rodimus puts himself at risk, it's what a captain does and frankly he knew who he was shiping with. But putting his own man on the line was distasteful. Rodimus cuts him off as he's captain and should be respected

Yeah I like Rodders.. but like I said.. sometimes the guy makes entirely stupid selfihs deicsions and tries to act like no one has the right to cal lhim out on it. THe diffrence, once again, between him and say other characters doing this in RID.. is that Rodiums is SUPPOSED to be wrong, gets called out on it and eventually grows out of it. It's part of his character growth that he stops being THIS reckless and stupid. As we'll hopefully see.
Finally Ratchet cleans out Tailgate's T-Cog, as it turns out some scrap around it is why he got mode locked.. but Tailgate makes an announcemnt.. he wants to be a decipticon. Dun dun to be continued. And with that.. we enter a whole new world baby. But first…

For the first time we encounter a song I know well and have heard many times ever since Morel Orel. This song is a masterpiece, sad, beautiful, and well done. It's only real flaw is I don't get where it really fits in this issue. Like at all. It's a good song but it dosen't qutie synch up with the issue. It does fit the comic as a whole really well though. Tonight We Fly (The Divine Comedy)
Another one that dosen't QUITE fit the issue as a whole, but does fit as end credits music, as it fits the comic well. It's also just.. beautiful. I can see why Roberts likes the divine comedy. This is some top shelf stuff with the melancholy vochals, nice backing sound.. thing, and bittersweet tone that just… fits Lost Light like a glove
Next Time: We begin a new arc at long last as Ratchet goes to a wintery research outpost where a mysterious virus has broken out.

Weekly Update Feb 10, 2023
Struggling a bit but did some stuff this week still. Main issue was getting my computer fixed, which I was able to do. In the meanwhile I did some sketches on paper, as well as a few after I got my computer fixed.
I made progress on the test animations for the eventual TRG animated, although I have not thrown together any promotional drawings for colosseum yet. More importantly, I have found issues in a number of pieces with the rigs that will need to be replaced. Tim needs one new arm, and Emile needs all of his arms replaced. I hope to fix these tomorrow, although schoolwork will take priority. These should be faster fixes than the legs, although again, Emile will likely need added joint pieces in each of his shoulders. He is the oldest rig and thus the most scuffed.
Animation itself is running smoothly when I have time to work on it. The new tweening method is working wonders, and the old method remains for instances where it doesn’t work, like when adobe decides to break someone’s arm randomly. This saves steps and allows more minimal movements to be much easier, which should make everything smoother and more natural looking. The fan animations are meant to be practices to ease me into animating for eventual original animation, so I am willing to put in more effort than is necessary if it means building skill. Progress on the final test is locked behind making Emile’s new arms, but I’d say is one third done (in terms of frame number, a little more than that). Buying myself time for deciding a proper clip, which has not been set in stone, although I have enough to work with should I finish faster than expected.
The Nintendo direct was this week, and it showed four niche mystery detective-type games: Ghost Trick, DecaPolice, Professor Layton, and Rain Code. I hope they are all reasonably priced, since I’m not so hot on cash right now (surgery is expensive). I do hope they can also help with inspiration stuff, drawing the DecaPolice protagonist has already helped with drawing different face shapes than I’m used to with my style. Expect more of him.
As for OC related projects, not much to share this week. Outline progress was unfortunately minimal, though structural progress on the secondary story is progressing, although my intent was to make more progress towards the primary. Hopefully work on this can be done in my photography class, as the professor has kindly asked me to not animate during lecture (because she doesn’t like the clicking of my mouse, a fair reason).
Inktober 52 was almost missed entirely this week. Next week will likely be the same, due to the homework pileup, though Tomorrow and Sunday buy me time to get caught back up.
The only real OC related thing I did that mattered this week was the lineart test. Any time I’m self conscious about my art I try something new to improve, to which the test greatly helped me get the hang of where to and where not to use sketchy lines. I hope to incorporate this in the test animation as well, though that will be a finishing touch, and the proper movement and expressions should be focused on first. People do seem to still be enjoying my style, despite it being different from most others I see. Nice comments do a lot for my confidence, so I hope to make more content that warrants them.
Spring break is coming up, but also looking to be busy with doctor visits and meetings to arrange living arrangements (both looking to be effectively resolved, I’m not in any danger for a while). I should still have plenty of time to work, but until then, progress on everything will be sluggish, and which project I work on will depend on my mood. Next week I fill try to focus on fixing everyone’s arms, chipping away at the test animation, outline work, art style tests (including fanart probably), and hopefully a TRG Colosseum promotional drawing or a few.

feeling like i should at least explain this shitty ass drama I've been in for the last who knows long before NuggetB0iYT comes after me with his gang or whatever you want to call it. more or less, this just feels like someone trying to milk the fuck out of things that aren't even worth riling up anyone over in my opinion.
for all i know this happened a few months ago and my memory is often foggy over things like this so this is as much as i can remember clearly about what happened to me, my friends, and even my boyfriend.
i was on discord, in my boyfriend's server (we weren't dating yet) and i was just hanging out with some friends. the server was always nearly quiet due to Nugget spamming mute on literally anyone he could, but we eventually moved on from that.
for what i know, SpacyQuaser5617 was his favorite to harass. almost daily i could see Nugget talking about things like how Spacy is a baby or how he'd like to hurt him. nearly pushed him to suicide but in the end, Spacy was still alive, and everyone eventually moved on from that (now that im thinking about it i should have tried to help Spacy before he blocked me for whatever reason)
I was in a bad mood at the time and nothing was really helping to calm me down or whatever so I dm'ed a few people, and then I went to the server I usually went before it was deleted by Nugget.
Spacy's 1 week mute had finally expired, and he actually got to speak for a minute. all he says before probably being muted again was something like "i'm back"
Nugget is online and just responds with "welcome to hell"
all I said in response to that was just 8 simple words, and thats what set off the ticking timebomb.
"well, with you here, I can see why"
and I ended up getting backlash after backlash for that. random dms from random people that were most likely alt accounts of him and his friends, and some of the people i knew well weren't spared the backlash either. I swear I saw a channel celebrating one of my friends getting really sick as well.
sometime when I started dating my current boyfriend, videos started surfacing about him harassing someone in perfect English.
it was obviously sketchy with some of the claims.
1. the harassment claims were weird because he was speaking proper english, correct grammar and everything despite him at the time not knowing English that well. (he is Brazilian)
2. the rule 34 accusations seemed more like an inside joke that went too far instead of something to be taken seriously. (if anyone really has any proof William Cat draws rule 34 could you please link here? the one image he has on rule 34 doesn't count since it doesn't match any of his artstyles.)
3. him forcing a relationship on two people that i have looked up countless times and don't show any results. maybe they do exist but there was no proof that i could find of this being real so for now this stays debunked.
there is a few more things i would like to point out, for anyone really looking for some proper dirt on Nugget, but i can't prove too much as usually when he does this kind of thing, it's gone before i can screenshot it.
he has posted NSFW art of bob x opheebop in a server with mostly minors.
he has (if you already haven't gotten the hint) harassed multiple people over and over again, me being one of the victims obviously.
and he has drawn some questionable art of characters, minor characters. (i only have one image but if you ask around there might be a few more people who have more proof than i do)
one more thing to address, he has attempted to try and resolve this, but all he said was the equivalent of that he's black and i'm not.
do whatever you want with this information. if you're gonna take my side, go ahead. if you're gonna take Nuggets side, all i can say is good luck defending someone who's only excuse of why he should keep doing things like this is that he's black. there's a lot more to be addressed, but that's all i can remember. you can dm me on Twitter for the proof. till then i feel like I've said enough.

Return to work and character design!

Hihi! Tokki here, we took time off the game but we're back to working on it! Lots of things stole my time but now I'm back, working on character design. Here's Aurelia. 🥀✨ I actually also took some hiatus' in my absence from working on the game to study art as I felt very strongly about my desire to improve, I'm now a lot more confident! I no longer get the feeling like I could possibly, accidentally, have some misses and hopefully I'd have some hits. I felt almost as though a bad piece of art was inevitable and that if I strike gold with an excellent design, that it'd be fluke that I wouldn't be able to pull off a second time. Now I feel that my art skill level has reached the threshold where it's always of a good standard, I no longer live with the looming threat of an 'inevitable' day where I fail miserably and create something of bad quality. I decided that it was foolish of me to try and perfect every design sheet and work on each one until fully-rendered completion, as that's ovewhelming to think about and stiffles my freedom and creativity. It's better to use a base female model and then draw on top of that model with whatever idea I have, and in a messier, sketchy way where I can easily experiment. So I drew a female base model and drew on top of that in a loose manner, it felt really fun and exciting to work on. I'm excited to move on to the next designs, especially as in my hiatus I still thought about the game frequently, coming up with ideas. I'll be bringing all of the designs into a 'fully-sketched and coloured' state like you can see in the picture I added, and do that with each design until they're all finished. After they're all completed I'll go and develop each one into an official, fully-rendered illustration on a proper character design sheet. ( Much better than my original 'plan' of taking it from a sketch to a fully-rendered character design sheet one at a time. Which honestly paralyzed me to think about, it's far too much all at once and it doesn't allow me to freely play with designs in an expressive way. ) Anyway, it's nice to be back working on Evernight and I'm super excited to be bringing these characters to life, I think this will be a really meaningful game and these characters will be the soul at the heart of it all. I really wanna rehaul what I've done so far in terms of IU design. I feel it needs to choose a concept and stick to it strongly and that I could do a better job of that now, especially with fresh eyes. It also needs an official colour palette that can be recreated across the board and not stray from. Consistency is key. Also, I was taking a look at the BOTW artbook and the Undertale artbook today, it was really inspiring and made me feel better about my sometimes messier sketches. Thanks for reading!      You take in a deep breath. The letter in the sweaty palms feels heavy and intimidating. It's hopefully an acceptance letter from your dream college, UCLA, but there's a chance you got declined.
     You open the envelope slowly, unfolding the letter and beginning to read. Your smile grows and you jump up from your chair, pumping a fist in the air and jumping around your kitchen.
     You race to your phone and call your parent's phone number, waiting impatiently for one of them to answer. Before a 'hello' is said, you shout out.
     "I got in! I got in UCLA!"
     It's been your dream to go since you were small. America was scary and foreign, but you've always known that you can't live in England your entire life.
     It's always rainy and cloudy, and LA seems bright and gorgeous. It's full of possibilities and excitement. And it helps that your best friend, Saul, lives there.
     You and Saul have been friends since practically birth. Yours and his parents were close friends, meaning that even after Saul and his mom moved to America, you all remained in contact.
     You're parents took you to yearly trips to America to visit the Hudson's, and he visited England once in a while, too. Over the last few years, you haven't been able to go visit him.
     You have a job and have been working hard to save up for college, so vacation was a distant memory. But nonetheless, phone calls are still pretty common between you and him.
     According to Saul, his friends call him Slash now, and he has a band. He seems to be happier with this band than his previous ones, and you wish him nothing but the best.
     You can't wait to be there, to see him on stage with florescent lights beaming on him, his fingers moving quickly along the fretboard of his guitar. You're smiling just thinking about it.
     It's finally moving day. It's bittersweet, bitter because England is all you've ever known, moving so far away is the scariest thing you've ever done. Your parents are also heartbroken your leaving, but they keep smiling faces to not make you feel guilty for leaving.
     But the sweetness is stronger. This is your dream! You'd be able to live in LA and see the ocean everyday, walk along the Sunset Strip, and go to your dream school. Saul being there definitely helps, too.
     The plane ride is nothing new. It's long and tiring, and you just want to sleep when you finally get to your destination. But the familiar heat wakes you a little when you step out of the airport.
And when you get to your very tiny dorm, you rush around to unpack so you can go and explore. The strip is obviously you're first destination. It's colorful and loud and the exact opposite from England, which may be what you love about it.
A poster stuck to a window with drawings and a date on it catches your eye. It's for a local band called Guns n Roses, and you remember that's the name of Saul's band.
So, naturally, you go to the show. The band is loud and the energy is something you've never seen before. It's electrifying.
After, you reconnect with Saul— or Slash as he likes to be called now. You meet his band and they all love you, although all of them tried to get into your pants at some point during that night.
But as time stretched on to months, you and Slash are closer than ever. His bandmates are convinced there's something going on between you, but both of you always brush it off.
"We're just best friends," is Slash's favorite quote.
Axl and Steven were the most vocal. Axl is nosy and notices everything, and Steven just loves love. You can't count the number of times they've tried to set you up with Slash on a date, it hasn't worked yet.
     But nonetheless, Steven and Axl giving up their mission seems impossible. Well, you thought, until now.
     "You set me up on a blind date?" You ask, a slight snarl on your face. "With who?"
     "What the hell do you think blind means? Go and find out! It's this Saturday," Axl says. You put your pen down, as you were finishing up some schoolwork before Axl had called you.
     "Why do you even want me to go on this date anyway? Aren't you the same guy hell-bent on getting me with Saul?"
     "Look, this guy needed a date, you're the only single woman I know that I haven't fucked."
     "You're disgusting."
     "Will you go on the date or not?" Axl asks, ignoring the insult.
     "I don't know, Ax." You sigh. "I'm busy with school and work and—
     "Exactly! A date is exactly what you need to relax!" Axl says.
     "Fine! Fine, I'll go," you agree. You know that he won't give up on asking, he would just show up at your dorm if you hung up. Besides, how much harm could one date do anyway?
     It's Saturday, the dreaded day of the week. You park your car outside of the restaurant that your date will take place at. The restaurant looks nice, it isn't fancy and expensive, but it doesn't look sketchy.
     You walk in, glancing around quickly to see if you can spot your date. Axl said he should be sitting at the first table near the window.
     You walk over, and when you spot who it is, you shake your head in disbelief. He may have his back turned to you, but his curly head of hair is still distinguishable.
     "So you're my date?" You ask, rounding the table. Saul looks up in surprise and laughs, throwing his head back.
     "Axl set us up?" He asks.
     "Apparently." Slash shakes his head but keeps his smile on his face. He gestures for you to sit down across from him.
     "Well, I'm starving and I'm not wasting the reservation. What do you want?"
Once you order and begin eating, you begin to think how nice this is. You wonder if there is something there, if maybe it was there all along and you never thought about it.
You become almost hyper aware of everything Slash does, to the way he looks down when he smiles and how he listens to you intently and hangs onto every word.
When the date ends, you’re disappointed and wish it could last longer. Slash feels the same, which is why he walks so slow exiting the restaurant.
“Can I tell you something?” He asks, walking you to your car.
“Of course, what?”
“I really had fun today.” You nod and smile.
“Yeah, me too.” You get to your car but instead of getting in, you lean against the door.
“Could we do it again sometime?” You raise your eyebrows and your lips part. Slash keeps his eyes low, nervous for your answer.
“You mean you want to hang out again?” You ask, and he quickly shakes his head.
“No, I want to go on another date. Just me and you, no Axl setting us up. A proper date,” he explains, his words fumbling.
“I’d love to,” you say with a grin. Slash looks up, a relieved smile on his lips. He reaches up his hand and caresses your face, leaning in ever so slowly. You lean against your car more, grateful for the support.
It turns out Axl and Steven were right sometimes, not that you’d ever say that to their faces.

Hii! Just wanted to ask an itching question... How long have you been drawing? Your art is soooo awee!! Can you suggest some tips on improving action poses?
firstly thank you!! ive been drawing for as long as i can remember, but the first piece i can recall really being proud of, i was about...... 6, and it was a girl sitting on a horse. looked terrible of course, but i was very very sad when i lost the thing lol. overall, about 15 years, but ive been only really working at it for the past 6 or so! i started this blog in 2015, so theres the rough starting point of where i stopped tracing other peoples art lol
as for action poses, mine still need work themselves lol. i use lots of ref when i draw mine still, and thats fine, but i would like to get better at doing it from my head more. but theres a lot of steps to getting it!
for good art and action, you need to understand the structure of a subject. proper anatomy. but with just structure art can often look stiff, so you need to supplement this with gesture! which is what gives poses their life.

this is great for general poses, but ACTION is a bit of a different ball game. this is where i can lean into cartoonism even more than usual, cause it require PUSH to get the idea of movement and contact across. we still follow gesture before anatomy, but we need to marry the two of course. it has to be put together and composed in a way that makes it FEEL like its moving. admittedly this is where i struggle! but what i use to increase impact and movement in my work is cloth/hair movement.
when the body moves, so does everything connected to it, and we can use this to show the direction of movement. this is why i like baggy clothes in my character designs so much! or at least 1 or 2 things that arent form fitting, to exemplify movement. crappy sketchy example here sdfhjk

this is very basic action, with a foreward/backward movement. more extreme action, i definitely recommend you look elsewhere, as im far from the best person to ask about that lol. perspective, blurred lines, and “smears” are big factors. theres a plethora of youtube videos on the subject, i cant pick just one to recommend :’D
now i was never formally taught anything with art. not in the subject i create, being people, clothing, etc. ive had to dig for it all and TEACH it all to myself, so my education and process is anything but perfect. im mostly parroting things ive heard elsewhere! as always,

A/N: This is my first time writing for Mouse and the longest fic I’ve written, so hopefully everyone likes it! :)

It was Mouse’s first day in Intelligence, it was finally the day that he was going to turn his life around. No longer living in sketchy areas and gaining felonies but instead becoming a legit member of society and working for a reputable institution, the Chicago police department. He had been recommended to the boss by his friend and former military buddy Jay Halstead, who unlike himself, had managed to get a proper holding in society after being discharged from the Rangers. This was finally his chance to show Jay and everyone else who cares about him that he could do something else good with his life and that he was more than just his time in the military.
Meeting Jay outside the district, the two men embrace in a warm hug, briefing saying their hellos and reminiscing on old times before they ascended the stairs. They pasted Sergeant Platt, Jay giving her a small hello in which she ignored and Mouse, despite having only met her once, gave her a polite smile. Punching in the passcode alongside his handprint, he unlocked the door climbing the second set of stairs up to the place he would call ‘home’ for hopefully years to come. Reaching the top Jay paused, Mouse quick to follow his actions.
“Guys this is Mouse, Mouse this is the Unit. That’s Dawson, Lindsay, Olinsky, Atwater, Nadia, and Sergeant Voight’s in his office.” The people in the room all averted their gaze from their own individual work, with Voight even exiting his office to greet him as well, to greet the newest member of the team, all presenting him with a momentary smile, short greeting, or handshake.
“Oh and Y/LN and Ruzek are currently out chasing up a lead right now but should be back soon,” Jay quickly followed up, trying to familiarise his buddy up with as much as possible to make him as comfortable as he could, knowing mouse struggled with rejoining society.
“Ok-k, well it's good meeting everyone, and I hope I can be of assistance to you all,” he mumbled out nervously, he admired Jay and Voight for giving him this opportunity but it still didn’t stop the feelings that they had a level of superiority over him due to their jobs. Taking him downstairs to his own tech room, he prompted Mouse to take a look around to get accustomed to his surroundings.
“What do you think buddy?
“I think it will do the job just fine,” he smiled back to jay reassuring him that he could do this.
“Ok, well if you’re all good I’ve got work to do myself,” Jay announced before turning and leaving Mouse to his own devices, finally leaving him to prove himself worthy.

Mouse’s day was hectic, to say the least. Members of the team were constantly in and out of the tech room or calling him, getting him to give them vital information as quickly as he possibly could. But he thrived in the conditions present, what previously was extreme anxiety when he first entered turned into adrenaline. He hadn’t experienced such a high-intensity situation since his time at the Rangers, but he loved it. The Rangers was the place he felt most at home and alive, but the ‘accident’ had caused him to be honourably discharged. He wanted to be back in Afghanistan with Jay and his other military buddies desperately, feeling as though he had a place there, that he was actually contributing something good to the world, but this would do for the time, this was the best thing for him right now.
From what he could figure out, the unit was dealing with a human trafficking case in which multiple girls were found dead by the Docks, thrown into a container, and starved to death. Pulling up the names of multiple different men, he stared into their eyes as the pictures came up on his screen and felt no remorse for them as he heard each man be dragged into the cage one by one. The team managed to successfully find lead after lead, deciding to either all roll out together or keep sending Ruzek and Y/LN out. It was already about halfway through the day and Mouse still had not met the said people, only occasionally hearing their voices or being told to send them the information he was finding.

As the day further progressed things started to flatline, leads found previously being a bust and nobody seeming to find anything worthwhile. The whole team worked tireless upstairs as Mouse found them the material they needed downstairs. Finally, after an hour of absolutely nothing, Dawson managed to get vital information from a CI and so a feasible lead was afoot. As the others were gearing up and getting ready to finally make some arrests, Jay popped his head into Mouse’s tech cave.
“Mouse I need you to send me the information on Spencer Phillips ASAP,” he was just about to walk out when he turned his head slightly to utter a few final words to his friend,
“And good job buddy, we really appreciate it.” Mouse smiled as he looked up the information for Jay, maybe he was going something good for the world, especially if his dearest friend thought so.

The lead had been successful and two arrests of notable people in a human trafficking ring were arrested. The case was not fully closed, the organisation still up and running, but the perpetrators of the murders were put away to never see a day in the sun again. That was enough for Voight to warrant the members of his team a break to go home, rest and in the younger detective's case visit the local bar, Molly’s. Coming back up to the main room Jay greeted Mouse, patting him on the back for a job well done, he had underestimated his friend, thinking that he may struggle with his job just as he had coped with his anxiety and PTSD after coming back from the Middle East. Walking further into the room Mouse finally got to see the infamous man who had manage to evade his line of sight for the whole working day, Adam Ruzek. Approaching him he finally got to introduce himself.
“Hi, it's nice to finally meet you”
“Yeah, you too Mouse, I feel like I’ve been swept off my feet the whole day, you coming to Molly’s”
“I wasn’t planning to but sure why not?” Mouse had a vague idea of what Molly’s was, Jay sometimes talking about the bar run by first responders, but he was excited to finally see it for himself. Turning to Jay, who was packing his stuff up at his desk, he assumed he would want to go to the bar alongside the rest of the team,
“Molly’s then?” He smirked knowing Jay would never turn him or drinking down,
“Of course.” Leaving the district together, the two guys headed in the direction of the bar relieved to finally get away from work and have some downtime. Unbeknown to them you were in the changing room with Kim chatting away, excited to go for a drink and ready to go upstairs to meet the new tech guy. Little did you know you would be very disappointed when you did so.

Arriving at the bar the men settled into the unit's usual booth at the back of the bar, flagging down Hermann to get two beers so that they could finally unwind from a long day of stressful events.
“The rest of the team should be here shortly, but how was your first day buddy, tell me all,” Jay asked hoping that his friend liked the position so that he could work towards becoming an outstanding member of the community and chuffed that he was working alongside his best friend once more.
“It was good man, I don’t really know what else to say about it. Um..I finally felt as if I was doing something with myself, I felt that adrenaline I missed from the Rangers, but I miss it, the thrill, the relationships, everything really Jay.” Jay sighed not knowing what to say, annoyed at his friend for missing it, he had spent so long trying to pull Mouse out of that bad place, a constant cycle of anxiety, depression, and PTSD, that it hurt him that he wanted to go back. The tense situation was interrupted by the rest of the team arriving, taking up the rest of the room in the booth with Erin snuggling up to Jay and Adam getting up to buy a round for the table. All the usual suspects were there enjoying themselves, except one, you.
You had gone home to shower and get out of your work clothes before making your way to meet the rest of the team for some rest and relaxation, maybe nestling a few beers throughout the night. Making your way into the bar, you passed members of firehouse 51, making small talk with them before moving towards Hermann to get yourself an alcoholic beverage. Thanking him you turned to walk over to your unit's table, spotting an unfamiliar figure in the corner of the booth next to jay, which you could assume was the new tech guy Mouse.
“Christ Y/LN where have you been?” Your partner Adam boomed, already a little tipsy from the two beers he had consumed.
“Sorry I had to go home first, wanted to freshen up,” you smiled amused at how much of a lightweight Adam really was, despite claiming otherwise.
“Y/N this is Mouse, I don’t think you’ve met yet,” Jay interrupted you, drawing your attention away to introduce you to the nervous man beside him. Looking him dead in the eyes, you noticed how attractive he was, you had just presumed that Mouse would be less than average looking considering his measly nickname, but no, the man in front of you was undeniably handsome with a charming smile and deep blue eyes.
“Hi, it's nice to meet you, sorry I didn’t meet you earlier, seems like we were both at the wrong place at the wrong time,” you gave a shy smile, sitting down next to Kevin trying to look confident despite the nervousness you felt inside.
“I-its good to meet you to Y/N, seems like the universe is not in our favour huh?” He stuttered equally as nervous, for what you assumed was first-time jitters, but little did you know it was because he found you equally as attractive.

Throughout the night you continued talking with all members of your unit but especially Mouse. You felt naturally drawn to him, not just because of your attraction but also the stories he told that fascinated you, some from his days in the rangers and other ones from his childhood. By the end of the night, you too had managed to move to sit next to each other, with the members of your unit seeing you hit it off immediately and so pushed you together hoping for another office romance. Completely enamoured by him, you didn’t even notice that the other people in the bar were starting to trickle out slowly and Hermann’s last order was thirty minutes ago. Finally noticing your surroundings after the bartender had called your name and told you it was closing time, you checked your watch noticing the late time. Turning to Mouse you smiled and softly spoke about the revelation,
“I didn’t even realise how late it was, maybe we should get out of here, wait wait! Not like that, well unless you want you.” Noticing what you had said, you shyly smiled hoping he wouldn’t think you were too weird.
“That sounds good,” he cheekily smirked moving out of the booth, allowing you to get out too and heading towards the doors of the bar, saying a brief goodnight to Hermann on your way out. You walked down the street together to where your cars were parked, going at a slow pace, trying to extend your time together for as long as possible. Locating your car you stood next to it as you went to say your goodbyes to the handsome man in front of you.
“Thank you for keeping me company tonight, I really enjoyed it”
“Yeah me too, but I was hoping we could do it again sometime, just you and me?” Completely taken aback you stuttered to think of your response, you weren’t not thrilled about it at all, just completely surprised that he liked you as you did him.
“I’d love to Mouse, give me your phone,” handing you his phone you put your number in, silently hoping he would be one of those guys that actually use your number instead of ignoring it completely. Proceeding to hand it back, you both stood in silence not knowing what to say. But in this situation, no words were needed, only actions. So when he leaned in to place his lips, you gladly reciprocated the affection, wrapping your arms around his neck and deepening the kiss. Little did you know this would lead to a lifetime of desire and devotion.
