PLEASE WRITE MORE YANDERE MIGUEL OHARA IM BEGGING UUUU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: yandere behavior, talks about kidnapping, venom, and yelling.
A/N: Sure :). After you guys voted and been sending asks, you deserve it. Enjoy this anon ;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This spider of a yandere would be a mess. He’s overprotective. Easily jealous and aggressive. Controlling, and, a helicopter of a guy who hovers behind you like a guard dog.
It doesn’t matter if you are a Spiderperson, a normal individual walking into the street, or a trustworthy friend he met through Jessica, hell you could be a reincarnation of his wife. But, the minute he catches his obsession with you, and he finally realizes it, he’s not letting you go.
His obsession for you starts to unwrap the second he realizes he’s in love again. He slowly starts to get more unhinged, more of an aggressive wreck that causes everyone to walk on their tippy toes.
Everything is wrong. The missions go wrong. He can’t focus. You’re irritating in his presence. But he hates seeing you hurt. Everything is angering him, making him grumble and yell out in anger. But the second you come into the room? He’s suddenly calmer, almost like a switch had been turned off. Miguel always screams for people to leave, but he demands you to be near him, telling everyone, including yourself: you are more useful than the others.
By the time you realize he has feelings for you, you’re too late for escaping his webs. You can’t be saved, not by anyone. Nobody can stop Spider-Man 2099; the man himself of strength and dedication. Slowly, but surely, you’ll understand his ways. Someday, you’ll understand why he did this; realize his intentions of only protecting you.
He’s incredibly good at hiding, especially when looking out for you. Miguel likely will kidnap you when you least expect him. I mean, it’s so easy for him. Not only is it planned to be a perfect T, but he makes sure everything runs smoothly, making sure you fall into his perfect spider web as you’ve always meant to.
Weeks before you even realize his feelings, he’s stalking you. Following and memorizing all your schedules, habits, and routes. Miguel knows how your brain works, all the functions and wiring, he can read you like an open book. He can see and sense the way you think, the way you talk, your body language that shows how happy or nervous you are. He knows it all.
Likewise, he’ll make you come out to meet up with him, either on a ‘planned mission’ with just the two of you or making you meet up with him at HQ; stating something serious needs to be discussed. Either way, you are meeting up with him and clearly nervous. Every possibility is running through your head as you approach him.
But, when approaching him with a wide smile, it’s soon wiped off your face, seeing his stoned-cold face that seems too familiar. His eyes are cold and calculating, his mouth wrenched into a slight frown. Something was off. Maybe too off. Did you do something?
Of course, you ask what’s wrong. But he stays quiet. Too quiet for your liking. But, he walks up to you, his heart beating faster – hands shaking and body sweating. But, his eyes softened, almost like something or someone made his life complete. His hands reached up to your shoulders, keeping a rough but comfortable enough grip; his claws seemingly coming out, making your shoulder throb in irritation, but you ignored it.
He sighed, but soon went on about ‘keeping you safe’. For your safety, the dimension that you were in possibly already falling, you two belong together. You’re meant to be with him, swearing he’ll keep you safe – make you feel at home with him. Before you could even react, his fangs showed themselves, a slight hiss enveloping as they dug themselves into your neck; your body immediately turning into jello, feeling blood tinkle down your neck. It hurt. But not as bad as being betrayed.
You couldn’t speak. Not without stuttering, you couldn’t see well either, everything was multiplying in your vision. Your body felt like a million pounds. You couldn’t stand well, you were swaying back and forth, trying to hold your weight but to no avail, you fell back.
Of course, Miguel caught you. His giant hands catching you, and hosting you up in his arms; a gentle peck on your cheek as you sluggishly pestered him with questions; falling in and out of consciousness. But they were soon drowned out by his answer: “I’m taking you to our home. Rest, Cariño. I’ll take care of you.”
From then on, Miguel promises that. He will and can take care of you. Better than anyone else. He’s taking you to your new room; somewhere only he knows, a place he can be certain that’s heavily protected and away from any danger. An area where he and you can be spouses to one of each other.
When waking up, you quickly realize you are put into a ridiculously comfortable bed. A room full of things that anyone would dream of. Most of the items that you had back at home are already collected and put on the shelves; a backpack beside your bed. Everything in the bedroom is fancy, a huge TV on the wall which was in front of you, a corner full of blankets and pillows, and a bookshelf full of all types of books. It was clear he loves you. But, let’s not forget about the camera in the corner of the ceiling.
He doesn’t trust you. At least not yet. The entire house is baby-proofed, everything you can think of about hurting yourself is covered up. Of course, you’re allowed to roam the shared house when he’s gone, but don’t think he’s not watching – not only are there cameras in every corner of the house, but there’s a built-in speaker somewhere in every single room.
Miguel puts a tracker into you whilst you’re asleep. It’s in the back of your neck, especially where you can’t see or feel it. But, he knows your location 24/7; something he gladly likes to know.
Following his strict rules is something he expects. He awaits for you to be the perfect beloved he’s always imagined. He has the perfect image of a family he wants to create. And if it’s shattered or ruined? He gets very, very angry. Which isn’t pretty.
Breaking the rules isn’t something you’d want to do. Miguel will be angry, incredibly angry. If and when he gets an alert of you being gone, rewinding the video of how you escaped, he’s fuming with rage. The minute you think you’ve gotten away, he’s right behind you – his dark eyes narrowing at you as he snarls, harshly grabbing you and scolding at how stupid and childish you are.
Punishments are harsh. While he does mean business, and he does love you, but that doesn’t mean he’s not afraid to put you in your needed place. The punishments will and can vary with his mood, it especially adds up with what you did.
If he’s in a better mood, at best, you’ll get a loud scolding or a few hours locked into the bedroom with nothing fun to do; awaiting his arrival again to ask if your tantrum is over.
Though, if he’s not in a very good mood, Miguel… is more prone to accidentally hurting you. Regardless if you are throwing insults or directly trying to attack him, he’s impulsively grabbing your wrist which leads to a sprain, or yells at you to an extent where you flinch and sob. He apologizes, his fingers pinching the bridge of his nose as he softly whispers, ‘I wish you’d just listen to me’. Of course, when you cry, he comforts you. But it’s your fault, right? So, why don’t you listen?
Miguel is a man of many things, but patience is not one. If none of these end up working, he’s going to aggressively twist your feelings and thoughts around; constantly reminding you that he can always treat you worse. Or, threaten your family, possibly take away all the things you had joy in, and practically leave all types of bruises on your body from sfw and nsfw activities.
It is your decision after all, correct? Just spare yourself some nasty scars and play nice.
The ‘worst’ punishment he will do is accidentally causing a broken bone or drugging you with his venom, making you rely on him even more. With your slurring words and slightly limp-like body, he’s able to do what he can to help you: bathing you, feeding you, tucking you into bed with him as he whispers all types of things. Before turning off the lights, he always makes sure to kiss your cheek, a small ‘love you’ before cuddling you closer to his chest to sleep.
He’s not afraid of getting rid of people, especially if they’re in his way. No matter how messy it gets, Miguel is always ready to protect you; even if it means seeing tears come down. He will kill your family members, any partners, and the next-door neighbor that constantly tried to get into your pants.
Once you feel comfortable receiving affection, his way of showing it is quite off and almost uncomfortable. While he yearns for your touch, your kisses, and your hugs. Everything that he wants. It’s just for him, showing affection is fairly hard. After his past, he couldn’t imagine a world where he’d be happy again; feeling the same happiness and anxious butterflies in his stomach.
Slowly, but surely, he learns what he likes and what you like – which results in him being a cuddle bug. He loves smothering you in his arms, making you sit on his lap as he tells you about his day. Anything and everything results from his arms being around, on, or around you.
Of course, he spoils you like no other. Whatever you request, he will bring you; with you following his rules and being nice, he’s happier than ever. Though, he does expect a kiss from the gratitude he decided to do for you.
You will not be allowed outside. On rare occasions, such as your birthday or having a good attitude, he’ll allow you to eat with him at a pleasant restaurant or go to the park with him. But that’s all you are getting. And no, he will not let you come to the HQ.

Hello! Just recently found your blog, and I am in love with your fanfic, Glitch In Irminsul!
I honestly have no idea if I'm the first one to request on your blog, but I do hope this idea is okay with you!
May I request this: Reader who is a comedian with Cyno, Tighnari and Collei, reacting to Reader making Cyno's bad jokes (quote on quote) "better"? You don't have to find a joke for Reader if you don't wanna :)
I'm a little obsessed with their dynamic as of right now. If you do happen to take this request, thanks :D
Also idk if you wanna take Anons, but if you do someday, is it alright if I claim "🎪 Anon" as my alias? Sorry if I'm asking too much! I hope you have a great day :)
hi!! thanks so much for your request, and your patience!! 🩵 i had a good bit of fun writing this for you, i love bad jokes 🤭
WC. 1092
----- ⚘ -----
As the General Mahamatra, and having been personally assigned to your guard by Lesser Lord Kusanali herself, it is Cyno’s sworn duty to attend to every need and whim of the almighty Creator.
And when the Creator demands that you tell them your absolute worst joke, the one that nobody has ever even laughed at yet, well, who is he to deny them?
“- didn’t realize that, at that very moment, a Hydro slime was praying to meet a lone, stranded traveler.” Cyno finishes the joke with a straight face, at the exact same moment that the door to the hut swings open, revealing Tighnari and Collei with several bags of groceries in their arms.
“Oh, Cyno, not the slime joke again.” Tighnari groans over the sound of your absolutely raucous laughter at the horrible joke.
“But the Creator likes it.” Cyno protests, gesturing to you hanging part way off the table and clutching your stomach. You honestly don’t find the joke itself all that funny, but the sheer confidence with which he tells it paired with the completely deadpan expression he has is sending you into hysterics.
“They’re going to eat each other!” You gasp, trying to sit back properly on the chair. A few lingering giggles hit you when you see Tighnari’s deeply disappointed expression. “Hahaha… but slimes don’t have a mouth, do they? How would it eat the person?”
“Exactly!” Tighnari says, pointing at Cyno with the hand not holding the groceries. “It doesn’t make any sense! Slimes wouldn’t-”
“And what did the stranded traveler say in that situation?” You add, confusing both Tighnari and Cyno into silence. Cyno blinks a few times, visibly wondering if there was a part of the joke that he forgot to tell, and he’s about to ask for clarification when Collei beats him to the punch.
“Your Grace, the traveler didn’t say anythi-” Collie begins, but you’re already on a roll.
“He said, ‘it must be slime for dinner!’”
You can’t help but erupt into laughter again at seeing everyone’s reactions: Collei’s slow realization, Cyno perking up excitedly, and Tighnari imploding with exasperation.
“You see, because ‘slime’ sounds like ‘time’-”
“Yes, Cyno. Thanks. I got the gist.”
You’re still gasping for air, leaning back in the chair and bracing yourself on the wall behind you. Tighnari’s frown falters a little, your joy infectious even if the joke is terrible.
“Slime for dinner, and sand for dessert!” You add, and Cyno chuckles even as he brings out his wretched book of jokes and begins writing an annotation in the margins, which Tighnari is sure the librarian will greatly appreciate later. “Get it? ‘Cause dessert, and desert?”
Tighnari is about to snarkily reply, when a surprising sound catches his attention. He turns with a horrified expression to Collei, who has her hand over her mouth and eyes wide in disbelief.
“Oh no, Collei…” Tighnari says warningly, shaking his head, which causes the girl to snort again and she quickly puts down her groceries before she can drop them.
“I- I’m sorry, Master,” she fights through her giggles, which only spurs you and Cyno on. “It’s just… it’s so bad…”
“Come on, ‘Nari, it’s just a joke,” Cyno attempts to bring the Valuka Shuna in on the fun. “Think of it as a way to break the ice.”
“Yeah, Tighnari,” you add. “Snow fun otherwise.”
Collei lets out a full belly laugh, to Tighnari’s dismay and Cyno’s apparent confusion.
“You’ve never laughed at my jokes like that,” the general points out, and Collei can only laugh harder.
“We’re morally obligated to laugh at the Creator’s jokes, ‘lest Their Grace smite us with impunity.” Tighnari states tonelessly, completely opposing his own statement.
That’s about as much as you can take. You slide bonelessly off the chair, howling with laughter on the floor like some kind of hyena.
“Look what you did! You corrupted the Creator!”
“The Creator told that joke all on their own!”
While Cyno and Tighnari are bickering, Collei helps you off of the floor, steadying you in your chair as you both come down from your laughing. She checks you over to make sure you didn’t injure yourself on your way down, then grabs her bag and rummages through it before producing a shiny red apple.
“We brought snacks!” she announces, handing you the fruit proudly. “And we have the stuff for dinner tonight! We picked these fresh, though. They’re very sweet this season!”
You take the apple with a grin and rub it on your shirt to clean it before taking a bite.
“Wow, these really are sweet! Thanks, Collei!” You marvel at how good the apple tastes, somehow different from Earth’s apples, with a refreshing, sugary taste.
“You’re very welcome!” Collei beams at the praise. “I’m gonna go get Master Tighnari to stop griping and help me with dinner, now, though.”
You perk up at the mention of cooking. “Is there anything I can do to help?”
“Oh, gosh, no! You’re our guest, please let us take care of it!” Collei insists, then scurries over to the other two.
You decide to follow her just as she’s asking Tighnari for help with cooking. The botanist huffs with mild annoyance, his tail sweeping from side to side.
“I’m not sure Cyno needs dinner, Collei,” he states. “Since he wants to act childish, perhaps it would be best to put him in time-out for the evening.”
“That’s not very knife of you, Tighnari,” you say before you can stop yourself. “Why don’t you fork-give him for now so we can have dinner together?”
Tighnari squints at you, somehow sensing you’ve made a pun (or two) despite your straight delivery.
“... Are you going to stop with the jokes too, Your Grace?” he asks, his ear flicking.
“What jokes? Collei wanted to ask for your help with the cooking. How can you say no to dish face?” You sidle up behind Collei and use your pointer fingers to make her smile, which she tolerates with surprising grace. “Isn’t she adora-bowl?”
“...” Tighnari maintains his stance for a few more seconds, and then sighs in defeat. “I don’t have a counter to that. Very well, I suppose I can let it slide for tonight, since it’s for you, Your Grace…”
“Hehehe, counter,” you mumble, which causes Collei to erupt into giggles once more, and Cyno to look extremely pleased with your ability.
And Tighnari to make a noise of exasperation, throwing his hands up and stomping toward the kitchen on his own.
“That’s it! I’ve had enough! I’m leaving!”

So… JM's album was about his loneliness. If he's been with JK as we believe, why the loneliness?
I'm not asking from anti point of view. This is a genuine question.
Jimin’s album was about the tough times he went through during the pandemic and how he overcame them. So it wasn’t about loneliness in general but loneliness at a particular point in time.
Also anon, people can still feel lonely even when they are surrounded by a room full of people. Feeling lonely doesn’t always mean alone and having a romantic partner doesn’t guarantee one always feeling happy or fulfilled.
I cannot tell you where Jk was at the time and what he was doing because i simply don’t know. We have our suspicions about the nature of Jimin and Jungkook’s relationship but that doesn’t mean we have all the answers. We don’t know when they fought, when they broke up, when they weren’t speaking to each other, hell we don’t even know if Jimin’s relationship with jungkook (whatever it may be) was the reason for his “loneliness” during that time. There is just so much that we don’t know and we don’t know these things because we don’t live under their beds so normalize having some questions which we have no answers for because unless Jimin and Jungkook decide to write a tell-all book someday, some questions that we might have may simply never be answered.

Rollo-senpai,
First of all, I wish you a happy birthday. May it be a good time for you to reflect and improve even further.
I remember you expressing an interest in some of the books in the library during your past visit of Night Raven College. While it is indeed impossible from your current location to borrow them -- and, more importantly, return them-- I thought it appropriate to give you something along that theme.
So, here is a collection of 11 books, telling the story of the Righteous Judge, in pristine condition. I found it to be an interesting read back when I borrowed them. It is not the edition available in the library, but hopefully it will be to your taste.
On another note, I would like to compete with you in an equestrian race someday.
Give my regards to your vice-president and your aide for me.
Riddle Rosehearts.
If anyone is wondering why Riddle specifically gifted Rollo 11 books, I believe it’s because the original written version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame was contained in 11 volumes of varying lengths. Anon was most likely making a reference to that.
Anyway <3 I love writing passive aggressive dialogue... (It's not much of a fun reaction from Rollo if Riddle isn't actually there, so I decided to change the ask from a letter format to Riddle being present and speaking to him.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"May it be a good time for you to reflect and improve even further."
Rollo pursed his lips.
Riddle was straightforward with his wishes, but there was no mistaking the underlying sternness to every syllable he strung together. After all, he had been present when the City of Flowers was burning. He and Rollo exchanged strained, knowing looks as the tower of tomes changed possession.
"Thank you for the new reading materials. I've been looking everywhere for this series," the birthday boy said, setting the books down on a nearby table.
He was just as selective with his own choice of words as Riddle was with his. The room and everything in it was glass, and he and Riddle, the occupants tiptoeing to avoid shattering any of it.
"I was not aware that you too had an appreciation for history."
"Of course I do. Learning history is vital to ensuring that we do not repeat the mistakes of our ancestors--or our own blunders," Riddle emphasized. "... I'm certainly no stranger to the concept."
Mistakes?
Rollo bristled.
He didn’t make mistakes. He was staring at one—a miscreant that had toppled his grand plans. Boiling venom rose up.
"How fortunate for you that you have access to Night Raven College's extensive archives," Rollo purred snidely. "You have ample opportunity to study its materials to reflect and improve even further."
Riddle's face collapsed into a frown. "Well! Perhaps it would do you some good to study a bit more yourself."
"Bold words coming from the man who claimed to have the equestrian abilities to outperform me--only to fall short. Now you come back challenging me a second time in hopes of regaining glory. Before making such demands of others, might I suggest partaking in the act of introspection?"
"We were neck-and-neck in dressage, and you know it!!" Riddle snapped, his cheeks heating with anger. "You were no more or less skilled than I! We stood on equal grounds. Next time, I swear to defeat you and demonstrate the strength of Night Raven College's Equestrian Club!!"
"Fufu, I would like to see you try." Rollo smirked, spreading his arms out. To the layman, it may have appeared like an invitation for a hug--but no, Riddle saw it for the taunt it truly was. "I refuse to be defeated by the likes of villains like yourself."
“Villains…!” Riddle huffed. He aggressively shook his head. “I almost feel sympathy for those in your student council. They’re blinded by whatever heavenly light they’re convinced you exude. You are nowhere close to reaching that pinnacle!”

Why do you think all of a sudden they are showing so much bts before the season ends ? They used to get into so much sh!t. And SC? They want to show they are besties now ?
Do you think what the actors post need to be approved first ?
Dear Interjection Anon,
So many questions, all of a sudden. Panic much, in Mordor?
So be it. Let's unpack:
I wouldn't go as far as saying we're flooded with BTS "all of a sudden". This is a rather decent rhythm of release in my book, with a clear double objective:
1) keep people engaged/interested, as this bumper season has been split in two by some marketing Einstein at Starz (someday, I might write something about the sadistic streak of their sales strategy, to cool off)
and
2) boost audience ratings, during this summer season when people usually go to the beach/host barbecues in their backyards/fall in love/whatever.
No comprendo "they used to get into so much shit".
Besties now, huh? Let me count the ways, Anon: tweetheart, #1 in my book, single occurrence, bubs, boo, babe, S's name heard from Pretoria to Vladivostok in The Reckoning (don't bother to retcon that, she confirmed), hubby, wifey, me wife, give her all the prizes, etc. etc. etc. But also and more so after the Great Schism of 2016, tele-wifey, tele-hubby, sister (ugh, no), co-star and yes, best friend. This I will not deny: it is on record and I don't deal in mystification. I do remember, however, my feisty, diminutive grandmother telling me after Grandpa died suddenly: you know, I lost my best friend. She meant feelings, there. But I digress: I should hope only your blind faith in what is said, not in what you see or in what your instincts tell you, is prompting this question. As far as I am concerned, I didn't allow anyone, ever, to tell me what to think. So no, I don't believe that poorly conceived propaganda, delivered with the cheer of oral surgery. S&C don't mean anything new. They simply parrot those talking points. And if you think these people are just best friends, I pity you, Anon.
This is 2023, not 1950. These two are Executive Producers, with complicated personal lives and a (by now internalized) self censorship reflex. I would therefore suppose that what they post is not necessarily/always vetted by TPTB. What secondary players post is far more valuable to me. Less spotlight means more freedom to be yourself and this is where we did find the biggest nuggets during this promo season.

hey dude! What's up :)) been just a little since l've said something
Initially, this is me saying thank you and goodbye
This isn't supposed to be a weird pity story, so l'm so unbelievably sorry if it comes off that way, lol.
When I began reading your work, I was enamoured with fiction because of personal issues (as many usually are, honestly, I know I'm one of god knows how many people trying to run away from life for just a second with fanfics or media in general). I don't know if I will ever be able to communicate this properly, hell, this will even be unbelievable funny or dramatic but I need to get this across because it's coming from a genuine place. Your stories and work thus far has brought me comfort, immense heaps of it, and even still when I deal with things that feel out of reach or too much to actually face head on I find myself wandering back to syg or just your blog in general
I mean this, from my entire heart, thank you and thank Bee. A million times thank you, for making that one silly silly stupid piece of fanfiction, because oh my god it got me through some major stressful hardships within my life for the past 3 years.
I am leaving tumblr, however I’m aware I have submitted asks with my actual accounts before, so you'll likely be able to see they're still gonna be up. I'm just deleting tumblr the app instead of my account, but for other social platforms they will be deleted properly (such as quotev) so I won’t be indulging in much reading anymore when it comes to fanfics and such lol
I don't know if I'll come back, if I do I likely will not be back for long or to be as active as l've been because of the toll social media’s taken. So even as ridiculous as this feels, to tell someone I’m simply a fan of and barely truly know, that their fanfic of murderers and their love story with my self insert kept me pushing through a lot of tough days, I genuinely just had to.
I needed to thank both you and your partner for the work you've both put out. I still have that smiley pin I’d made, and I will cherish what you made quotev have been for me ( I literally found out about the website during early or late 2020 I can barely remember, then later found your fic, I was DEEP DIVING into that shit LMAO )
I hope whatever happens for you and bee in the future is only good, and I only will wish nothing but the best of luck with everything man.
feel free to post this (idk what it’s called but when you publicly reply lol) or not, as long as you read this it’ll mean lots to me !! >:))
your coolest weirdest ticci toby fan whose also named toby, 🐚 annon
I always struggle to convey gratefulness for messages like this and readership- especially repeated readership. My life would be different if it were not for comments and messages egging us on to keep writing from syg to ho1c. While it's easy to say that writing is solely out of passion for the craft there is also the drive to share something with others. Hearing those others loud or quiet as a favorite- does push us forward when we have no motivation or desire to work. That drive has made us closer as a couple, better thinkers, and a halfway decent writing team. I thank you and all the others who send us stuff even if it's shit post asks I never answer because I like having them in my inbox like a personal horde of platonic Valentine's. I like keeping the pieces you give me to myself sometimes. I know it may seem like I'm ignoring you but I find genuine comfort in these messages. That there are so many. That they are so varied. That we have reached beyond our shut-in existence to touch the lives of others.
I find myself wondering where an anon has gone when I do not hear from them in awhile. I wish them well. I wish them better standards than us.
Maybe we'll meet again someday space cowboy. If you're ever back in town feel free to shoot me (a message).
Thank you for reaching out. Thank you for reading. I wish you peace and love and good books.

20 questions for fic writers!
Thanks for the tag @maesterchill! Read their answers HERE.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
My stats tell me that I've written 50, but 5 are multi-chapter collections, so... a lot. Yeah.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
733,820. If you asked me three years ago if I could ever write that much I would've laughed in your face. Isn't growth amazing?
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Harry Potter (though I do read some Good Omens, Carry on Simon and Bagginshield stuff)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
UGH. I don't want to be honest here, since 2 of the five are Dramione fics I've now listed as ANON because of harassment reasons. I'll give you the NEXT five instead ;) 1. 93 Diagon Alley (Harry x George) They were roommates 2. HP Cocktober 2022 Collection (Multiple) Prompt fest 3. Solace (Harry x George) Unhealthy coping mechanisms (sex) 4. When Malfoy Met Granger... (Draco x Hermione) WHMS remake 5. Mistletoe, or Die F***ing (Harry x Fred x George) Self-explan.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes. I try to, because the BEST part of sharing is connecting with people who enjoy what I've done. Community, ya know?
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Mastermind (Draco x Hermione, Draco x Harry, Draco x Ron, Ron x Harry) The worst UHEA I've ever inflicted on y'all is this Dronarry fest 2023 story. Dark stalker Draco goes off the rails in the end. It's a masterpiece, I'm so proud of it.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
From Sunset to Star Rise (Harry x Ron) Cozy fall vibes, falling in love, little to no angst (Ron has a tiny bit of anxiety, that's all)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Yes. Mainly the bigger ship ones (Dramione, looking at you) If you're wondering WHY I write rare pairs a lot, it's because rare pair fandom is a safe space with AWESOME people. We may be few in number, but WE GO HARD and LOVE HARDER.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
ALL KINDS (though I'm not great a fluffy smut). Check out my HP Kinktober Collection 2023 posting daily RIGHT NOW. It's very kinky and dark.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
The closest I've come to crossover is more like "inspired by a vibe." I wrote a Community (TV Series) inspired paintball fic here: All's Fair in Love & War & Paintball (multiple ships)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, BUT I've had people post me on Goodreads. Read my thoughts on why this is bad fandom etiquette HERE
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I've had many requests, but no one has followed through yet.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No! But I'm interested in this concept, especially if the co-author is someone I vibe with.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
STAWP. It's too hard a question! Lately, I'm obsessed with Dronarry, and any combination of those three. I also think I'm more in love with stories than ships. If it's an amazing story I end it with "OMG this is the BEST EVER" and I say it about a lot of ships.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I'm writing a multichap Drarry fic where Draco is a wandmaker, and it's falling in love fluff. I'm terrified to write them because I feel like I'll get torn to shreds because the Drarry fandom is too amazing for the likes of little old me. I'll just read Drarry and call it good, and MAYBE I'll get the courage to finish someday.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Ideas. I'm chockful of ideas. Also, I read a ton, so I think the more you read, the better you write.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Fluff. I HATE writing fluff. Why is it so hard?
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't typically do it because I'm monolingual and don't want to fuck it up. I don't mind when others do it
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter!
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
How to Care for Your Monster Book: A Guide by Rubeus Hagrid  (Hagrid x Monster Book of Monsters) Y'aaaaaallll... I have no regrets about this fic. It's the only fic I've ever written that is perfect, I'll never top it, it's just so funny and weird (like me).

Hey there! Just came here to ask something—do you have the Witch of Light on your itinerary soon? I've loved your work so far, as it's really helped me understand the perspective of the classes and specific classpects, and the Witch of Light is my classpect, so I was wondering if that was coming some time relatively soon, or if I'd be waiting a particularly long while. Not intended to be passive-aggressive, just curious—I'll be glad to read whatever analyses you post in the meantime anyways :3
Hello, Anon!
I want to start this by saying that you are not the only one to ask me this question! To be honest, I've been wanting to dip back into Classpects on and off for quite a bit now. However, there's been a lot of things that have been making it rather tough TvT I'm working on a whole book series - that's one of the biggest ones!
Given that it isn't Homestuck nor Classpect related (unless you somehow wish to count DnD Classes and their subclasses! XP), I haven't spoken about it much here. It's a major passion project almost three years in the making, and while I have loved it, it's also taken up a lot of time and creative spoons! Which, unfortunately, has been a touch come and go for me as of late.
I also am a full time college student now! :D I have a job now, too (alas, even the God Tiered Mage of Light Red Panda needs to make money...), even if it is just a part time gig. Basically, I am born to write these silly analyses and my furry DnD fantasy story, but am having to do these things that leave me prettyyyyy drained by the end of each week X[
I've loved seeing that people do still love this blog and project, even if I haven't been all that active. It serves as a pleasant reminder that people do still love my work, and want to see more, which is so wonderful as a creative person.
It may take a little bit, but I would love to one day complete this project! Which is to say, someday, I will scrutinize the Witch of Light Classpect - and many more before and after that! Unfortunately, seeing through Time is not my speciality, so I cannot give a certain timeline on when this will happen, but I can and will certainly do my best to spare some spoons for this blog.
I am almost certain this is FAR longer than the answer you wanted, Anon, but I wanted to be as honest as possible! I wish I could say this was an April Fool's joke, but alas, I much prefer to use our boop PVP for the day
And thank you - to Anon and everyone who follows this blog - for your continued support and interaction! It truly does mean a lot :'3

I can very much see Cure writing fanfics. My writing prof in college encouraged fanfics because it was something you got excited about and therefore got you writing! The overall thought was "Fanfics are good, they inspire you and make you a better writer. Use this knowledge and write your own books and not just fully focus on fanfics" and I could very much see that with Cure
Writing fanfics when she's not able to get herself to write her own book, but when the inspiration strikes she can quickly turn to write her book again and leave her readers on a cliffhanger
Adding onto the other anon, if Plague is reading her fanfics, that would SUCK, sorry Sir, she left you on a cliffhanger and now you can't bring it up at work! Because you are hiding the fact that you read her fanfics! All you can do is stare at her and think thoughts of "update update update" and hope your brainwaves connect to hers! lmao
Asdhfshldff I love the mental image of Plague staring Cure and seething that she hasn't update her fic but by gods he is NOT going to ask about it or tell her he's reading any of her stuff. No, not even the book when it's out in the future someday.

What's the difference between catering to fanfic writers and to other kinds of writers? Or is there not much of a difference? Happy Book Publishers Day BTW.
Hey anon!
Ah, I'm so excited that you decided to send in a question for Book Publishers Day! I delayed answering for a few days so I could really think about the answer, and now here we are. :D
Tentatively, I'd say that there's not a huge difference between catering to fanfic writers and catering to other kinds of writers, but there are a few. I'd say the biggest differences aren't specifically in "how we cater to authors" so much as "how we've envisioned and structured the whole Press differently because of our collective roots in fandom." Here's some of the biggest differences that strike us, starting with those that are more narrowly about catering to the different types of writers, then getting a bit more general.
Privacy/safety concerns. While of course everyone worries about their privacy and maintaining data security is critical when dealing with contractors, employees, etc., it's something we especially emphasize when working with fanfic writers for two primary reasons. First, a lot of fanfic writers don't want people who know them in meatspace to become aware that they write fanfic, given the stigma against it in some communities. Second, a lot of fanfic writers are queer and they aren't necessarily out in all their circles. Thus, we put a lot of extra effort into ensuring that people who work with us can keep their "fandom self" separate from their "meatspace self," if they want to. I'd estimate roughly half of our authors opt to keep their various "selves" completely separate, and we work to be very public about the steps we take to protect our authors and the guarantees we have in place that we won't "out" anyone in anyway - that we'll do everything in our power to protect them.
Publishing education. While plenty of the authors we've worked with have been interested in publishing for a while, and a noticeable minority have published their original work with other Presses, a lot of our authors have always seen publishing their original stories as more of a "someday" and aren't familiar with the processes of what happens after the stories are written. So, we put a lot of effort into process-related transparency and answering questions to ensure that writers know what to expect. For example, we make blank versions of all our contracts public so that people who are considering working with us have plenty of time to read them, research standard contracts, and decide for themselves if they think our terms are favorable. We want people to know what they're getting into and to feel comfortable before they commit, and to feel comfortable walking away if that's better for them.
Unconventional publishing models. That said, we're also rather outside the mold for publishers, because only a few of the folks in our upper echelons have a background in more traditional publishing and/or medium/small Press publishing. I, the owner, have flirted at the edges of the more mainstream publishing industry but while I know a lot of people in trad pub and indy pub, I haven't worked in it myself nor have I been traditionally published. Thus, we definitely have had a learning curve ourselves, and it also a lot of our internal structure and approaches are specifically, explicitly designed around fandom models instead of around more standard Press models. For example, we wholesale adopted a zine approach to anthology production and publishing - we select creators and give them freedom to create within the parameters of the anthology theme, then help them with editing, instead of asking for completed stories that we sift through and pick our favorites. For another example, our approaches to tagging and cataloging stories and our interest in breaking out of industry-standard rigidly defined genres are also deeply rooted in our experiences as fans and fancreators in fandom spaces. Basically, in the same way that we approach writers who are fanwriters first, original writers second, we ourselves were all fandom people first, publishers second. and our methodologies grew out of our experiences as forum moderators, fandom event creators and runners, zine editors, etc.
Community spaces. Again, because we're looking at more of a fandom-based model transplanted onto a publishing milieu, we're very oriented on building a community and relationships. Our Discord is quite active, and we talk about our lives, about our projects, help each other out with research and betaing, etc. To be honest, I don't know if that's different from other Presses, but I at least strongly suspect it's well outside what trad pub does.
Transparency. In the end, we view Duck Prints Press as a collaboration, as something we're growing together with writers, editors, artists, graphic designers, etc., where all of us have been active in fandoms first. Toward that end, general transparency about our decision making, processes, and plans is important to us, and we work hard to make sure that people involved in the Press know what's going on. We hold monthly meetings to which everyone involved in the Press is invited (our next one is this Tuesday!) where we talk candidly, openly, and honestly about our progress on current projects, any set backs we've encountered, and how we're doing fiscally. In the same way that, if I'm involved in a zine, I'd expect the people running it to talk about the money earned, where profits are going, if there's been an issue with production, if someone's life going haywire has introduced delays, etc. That's the level of openness we aim for.
Education. This is an area where we're still expanding, but we've so far offered two classes to people involved in the Press on grammar and editing stuff. The idea is, a lot of people who write fanfic aren't "trained" authors, and we often don't know the rules, just "what sounds right." And, that's fine, that's why we have editors! But if people want to learn more, we're striving to provide more opportunities for that. Related, we're extremely, and atypically, transparent about our selection processes for people who apply to anthologies. We are not and will never be a black box where submission stories come in and acceptance and rejection letters go out. Not only do we use a rating rubric that's available publicly, we also share completed rubrics with authors upon request. We want people who are interested in learning and improving to see our notes and to have the chance to ask questions. We want to support people who are aiming to improve. And, flipside, we don't automatically send those rubrics out to applicants because we wholeheartedly subscribe to the fandom-standard attitude that concrit is only helpful when it's asked for. If someone doesn't want more information, doesn't want to improve (because improvement NEVER has to be one's goal as a writer, especially for fanwriters doing fic for fun!), we don't force that feedback on anyone! So, so many of our structures are based on fandom models, are grounded in fandom ethos.
Relaxed restrictions. All of the people who run the business are queer (I'm aroace genderfluid, myself), and most us are neurodivergent (my diagnoses are ADHD and clinical depression), and some of us are disabled (my wife, for example, is an ambulatory wheelchair user, though she's not heavily involved in the management team...right now she's anonymizing the submissions to Aether Beyond the Binary), and many of us are parents (I have two kids, aged almost 5 and almost 7). I've been active in online fandoms for more than 20 years, and the people in my fandom circles have overwhelming shared the above characteristics. Most are queer. Most are neurodivergent. Many struggle with health issues and disability. Many are parents, have multiple jobs, are caring for parents, are supporting their partners, are facing a multitude of meatspace challenges that make working in a traditional publication model difficult or impossible. In a lot of publishing, things like really struggling with deadlines, or having to navigate the potential for unexpected health flareups, or juggling multiple jobs, or working around a child's schedule, would be dealbreakers - the deadline is the deadline, meet it or get out. That's...so not us. We strive to create an environment with the flexibility to meet people where they are, where having life go sideways (cause let's be real, life always goes sideways sooner or later) doesn't disqualify someone from breaking into the industry. As long creators communicate with us about their hurdles, we are very free about giving extensions, making exceptions, tweaking schedules, etc. We don't want anyone hurting themselves just for a story. Yes, it can make management more challenging at times, but we always look to grant the same grace that we hope to be given when our own lives get complicated. (2022 has been a huge example of this, as my health issues resulted in my needing surgery last February and it completely disrupted all our project timelines for the year - we've really only just caught up in the last month or so).
Setting expectations. We aim to set realistic expectations with authors who write with us. My own sense of other models is that most publishers promise success without necessarily delving into things like "but you'll have to handle all your own marketing" or "this is how many copies you can honestly expect to sell." Authors can often be in for a rude awakening once they're in the door and contracted and would be hard-pressed to back out. We're very small, and we operate on a shoe-string budget (I have been operating Duck Prints Press for just over two years and we've never yet earned enough for me to take a paycheck, and we're in the red for both of our first two years, though our 2022 numbers are a significant improvement over 2021 and we have every reason to hope we'll keep growing). We can't afford a lot of advertising, can't be the only source of marketing, can't promise that people will sell lots of copies (full disclosure re: what that means, our average short story sells under 10 copies during the first week it's released). We can't promise anyone a livable paycheck. What we offer instead is community, support, creative freedom, understanding, and the chance to be part of a fan-run business that is slowly but surely growing, and growing amazingly. No editor will ever say "you have to change xyz so your story will sell." No editor will ever say, "we just don't want that story." We want to publish what our writers want to publish, and we want to work all together to help grow all our audiences. And that means, for people involved right now while we're this young, we can't promise much, but we can promise one wonderful thing: that the future looks bright.
This went a bit beyond "working with fanfiction writers versus trad pub writers" and more into "ways we approach things differently than a more mainstream Press," but I think that does tie into how the approach is different. We're not viewing the Press as The Owner And Managers Who Are Always Above and the writers as The Content Creators And Cash Cows. All of us in the management team are also fandom people, fanwriters, fanartists, etc. It's not two distinct groups, it's one big group of more-or-less equals (yes, there's still a hierarchy, there has to be some, but it's not super top-down and there's lots of opportunities for people to share their skills up the not-really-a-ladder) with the doors thrown wide open to welcome in more folks.
And that, I think, is the crux of the difference of how we cater to fanfic authors compared to what we might do differently if we were working with a more mainstream set of authors. While we do maintain certain editorial standards and we obviously don't accept everyone who applies, we still try to cast a wide net, to opt for inclusion over exclusion, to try to make allowances, to make space for people at different levels, with different experiences, with different life challenges, etc. In the end, I'd love everyone who ever applies to work with us to end up as part of the Press, because if people want to work with us, we want to work with them! There's no way to just bring in everyone at once, and some people need to hone their skills more before they'll be ready to meet the writing standards we aim for, but it's nothing that can't be learned. And, if people want to learn it, we want to help them learn it.
We're a publisher, yes, but we're also a community of fanwriters who all dream of being published, helping each other to make that dream a reality.
This was probably a ton more answer than was really necessary, but here we are. :D Thanks for asking, anon, and I hope you found the answer informative!
(I'm @unforth, by the way, it occurs to me a lot of people may not realize that.)

Boston was one of your favourite cities to visit or travel to for work, the atmosphere, the people, the architecture, and it gave you some space from New York where everything move at a thousand miles an hour, and there was constant noise. Truth be told you loved the smaller towns and counties outside of Boston, so whenever you were here you visited a new one. Your favourite so far was Sudbury, it honestly felt like a home away from home, and it’s where you could find the small bookstore you loved to visit when you were in the area. Walking in and out of the spring air you’re met with the smell of books, fresh coffee and the teakwood candle that burned by the front window
“Well, if it isn’t miss lawyer!”
You laughed at the nickname Earl, the older gentleman who owned ‘Pages and Binds’ had given you the first time you had ever stepped foot in his store
“Hi Earl, long time no see”
He smiled
“Sure has been, when are you gonna move out here”
“Someday I hope”
You chatted with Earl for a little more before he left you to wander around the aisles, you were looking for one specific book, and Earl had told you he had one copy left. You let out a sigh of relief as you spotted it on the shelf, as your hand reached for it, someone else’s had too, your eyes lifting to spot Chris Evans. You hadn’t seen many of his movies, but you knew of him well enough to know who he was once you snapped out of your slight shock, you drew your hand back
“I’m so sorry!”
Both of you spilling out the same apology at the same time, and he was the first to speak up
“I didn’t realize there was only one copy, it’s all yours!”
You smiled but shook your head
“No, no its alright! You got to it first!”
He sent you a smirk and you couldn’t help but feel your face heat up
“Technically we grabbed it at the same time…I’m Chris”
He stuck his hand out for you to shake which you did
“I suppose you’re right, I’m Y/N, it’s nice to meet you”
---
The back booth at the café hidden behind the books was filled with laughter as you and Chris got to know each other better, truth be told you didn’t know how long you’d been talking or hanging out, but it was the first time in a few weeks of busy cases, you felt totally safe, and comfortable
“So how long are you in the area for?”
You leaned back into the cushions and smiled
“Just until the end of next week unfortunately”
“That’s more than enough time then...”
You raised a brow in confusion before narrowing your eyes slightly
“Enough time for what…?”
“For me to take you out on a date”
Your eyes widened and he chuckled, your face heating up as you looked away for a short moment, was he really asking you out? Did he really want to go out with you? Wait what was even happening right now?!
“I-wait really?”
Chris smiled at your genuine confusion
“Really, really, so what do you say?”
You bit your lip gently before smiling
“What if I say no?”
“Then you’ll never see this book again!”
Chris grabbed the novel the two of you both wanted when you came into the store, getting up from the booth and sending you a wink before walking off down the aisles. You sat there in shock before getting your things and taking off after him, he didn’t end up too far, almost as if he was waiting for you
“Yes.”
“Yes, what pretty girl?”
You flushed, shaking your head
“Yes, I will go on a date with you.”
So you did, you spent just about every day with Chris after the bookstore, taking turns reading chapters from the novel that introduced the both of you together, you met his dog, got to see different sights around the area. When you had to go back to New York it was almost upsetting how much you were dreading it, despite that Chris kissed you before you left and held you in probably one of the tightest hugs you’d ever gotten. He promised to visit you as often as he could, and you did the same, it was one of the first promises you both made to each other, and the first of many you would forever keep.

About the blogger meme
Thank you to @bioloyg for the tag and the fic callout! Team Pete forever and for always!
Star Sign: Libra, but it never resonates the way my enneagram 2 does
Favorite Holidays: Groundhog Day. I love those little dudes (although I wish we could leave them in peace so maybe let’s just celebrate their existence and not force our way into their homes)
Last Meal: Enchiladas for dinner
Last Music Listened To: Waxahatche’s Great Thunder
Last Movie Watched: hmmmm in the theater? I think Bottoms, which I adored
Last TV Show Watched: Shameless. I’m in the beginning of season 9 and it is messing me up in 5000 different ways. The acting is great (sometimes) and the writing is awful (mostly) and the storylines are ridiculous (always) and it’s at least 5 or 6 seasons too long. But every once in a while it really makes you think, and it’s completely gotten under my skin. And I will finish it if it’s the last thing I ever do. And it might be, because wow.
Last Book/Fic Finished: I just finished Justin Torres’ Blackouts and I LOVED it. And the most recent chapter of @glitterslag’s It's Been You and Me Since Before I Was Me — is a witchy creepy Appalachian Gothic MASTERPIECE that I adore. Oh and Blissymbolics’ Colorless Richie Jerimovich, also a masterpiece even though it is sydrichie and that is giving me a teeny tiny identity crisis okay moving on
Last Book/Fic Abandoned: I am thisclose to giving up on Lessons In Chemistry. I do not get this book at all.
Currently Reading: nobody ever got my soul right like she could by seh28
Last Thing Researched for Art/Writing/Hyperfixation: Quite a bit about what happens to children of people wirh narcissistic personality disorder (hi Donna, yes I am armchair psychologizing and pathologizing a fictional character) for the fic I’m currently writing. I’m not a really intense researcher, but I’ve read all about elevator mechanics and ancient marriage rites and British parking tickets and EMP’s 2019 spring menu and how to cook uni and where pastina comes from, all for fics. I love that aspect of writing.
Favorite Online Fandom Memory: It’s embarrassing, but it’s probably the first time that one of my favorite fic authors commented on one of my own fics, ca. 2018. I was on the subway, and I dropped my phone on the disgusting wet floor when I saw the incredibly lovely comment they’d posted.
FaNvorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: I really only have two old fandoms, but I do miss HP quite a bit. It’s such a robust space, with really nice people, and so many different fests and prompts and challenges. I still read a bit when my favorite authors post, and would like to write for it again someday. (Also, if you’re the anon who’s messaged me multiple times to tell me that my new fics aren’t as good or creative as my HP, and that I “used to be a good writer” — please stop. That’s not the way to convince me to go back, and it makes me feel bad)
Favorite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big "Fandom" but You Wish It Did: Truly I’ve never experienced a hyperfixation like I have with The Bear. I wish fanfic had existed in its current state when I was younger, or that I’d been cool enough to figure out the concept and write it on my own. I would have been VERY ACTIVE in a Dead Poets Society fandom if it had existed when I was obsessed with that movie, a decade after it came out, when I watched it practically every day for a year 🤪
Tempting Project You're Trying to Rein In/Don't Have Time For: I just have 15 different Bear WIPs, none of which have any plot, wooo!
Anyway this was all very fun to think about. Tagging @amieraisposting @kdbleu @justabovewater20 @yannaryartside @glitterslag — only if this is your jam — and anyone else who wants to join in.

Chevalier 10 fall fluff

A/N: Getting an early jump on these requests! (The Fall Fluff Autumn Angst CCC runs Sept 15 - Nov 15)
Thank you anon for the request!
Chevalier x f!reader

Tumblr media
It had taken so much planning on your part, but as you hurry back towards the palace over cobblestones slick with rain, you know it was worth every single agonizing minute. Even the sudden fall drizzle with its tiny cold darts of water doesn’t dampen the glow inside your heart. Because you have managed to do something impossible. You have found a book Chevalier wants….and has not read.
As you zig-zag your way around puddles, you remember the evening a few weeks ago.
You were curled up on his lap, reading aloud from a list of book recommendations sent by a professor friend you had remained in touch with since moving into the palace. Chevalier’s arresting blue eyes were on his own novel, listening with as much attention to your reading as he was to his own story, a skill that at first had seemed like some kind of black magic but was, in fact, just the magic of Chevalier and his incredible mind.
He murmured acknowledgments as you read the list out loud,  his expression never changing. ….Until you mentioned the final book, a rare novel from the Northernmost region of the Jade Empire. At its name, he had raised his gaze from the pages of his own story to glance at the letter.
“I’ve never read that,” he murmured, his expression almost thoughtful.
Surprise caused you to look up. It was a rare book indeed that had not yet crossed Chevalier Michel’s path.
“Do you want to?”
He adjusted you slightly in his lap, his arm holding you securely to him as one shoulder lifted in an elegant shrug.
“I wouldn’t reject it if it appeared in my bookshelf someday.” He returned his gaze to his book and you found yourself fighting back a grin. He wanted to read it. That singular piece of information started a roaring fire inside your heart. Come hell or highwater, you would not rest until you got him that book.
Weeks of correspondence, of charming and cajoling Clavis to help you, of promising palace visits and donations and one very desperate letter to Prince Keith had finally paid off. A copy of the book had arrived at the bookshop where you formerly worked, wrapped protectively in the finest black velvet, like a queen’s favorite jewel.
This is the package you clutch so tightly to your chest as you hurry onto palace grounds, your boots squelching with every step. A few words with a passing servant direct you to Chevalier’s study. You burst through the wide, white doors, dripping with rain and excitement.
“I have something for you!”
Your words are breathless with the pace you set to get there and the anticipation of the look on his face. Chevalier pauses his writing, carefully laying down his feathered quill. You are one of the very few people allowed to interrupt him when he is working. He shifts his long limbs, turning to face you. You are bright-eyed and soaking wet and holding something so tightly in your hands, your knuckles are white. You’re also starting to shiver, a fact that you yourself are not even aware of.
He rises from his chair, long legs taking him to you in a matter of seconds.
“It is autumn now. Only a simpleton would be caught in the rain and not seek a fire immediately.” He reaches out, taking your elbow and roughly begins guiding you out of the study.
“But Chevalier-” You leave a trail of tiny puddles in your wake as he firmly leads you out of his study and to the main salon, with its plush furniture and most importantly, large fireplace.
At this hour, most of the other princes are either out or conducting business over drinks. The salon is empty when you both enter. The warmth of the room wraps itself around you, the heat a shock to your cold skin.
“Chev-” You try again, wanting so desperately for him to open the treasure you have procured. But he ignores his name on your lips, his expression etched with annoyance as he deftly removes your wet cloak.
“You are soaked. How foolish.” He takes your arm and pulls you with a bit more finesse closer to the fireplace where a generous fire is crackling, tiny sparks twinkling like fiery stars as they rise and then fade away.
Your cloak soaked in most of the water but he still undoes the hooks of your corseted vest, tossing it aside. A shiver runs through you, not entirely from the cold. His hands start at your shoulders, surprisingly gentle as they run down your arms, feeling the sleeves of your blouse, fingers touching your bare skin when he gets to your wrists and your hands, still clutching the velvet-wrapped gift.
“Put that thing down. You’re still chilled.”
Frustration bubbles up inside you like the fizz of champagne. You step away from his touch, eyes narrowed.
“Would you just take a look at-”
“Not until you are warm.”
Frustration dips, overrun by a wave of genuine anger.
“It’s ‘The Death of King Arthur’,’” you snap at him. He stops, taken by surprise. Whatever he was expecting you to say, that was certainly not it. You move toward him again, holding the package out. “First edition.”
His eyes, frostfire in the warm light of the flames, move from you to the velvet in your shaking hands. He reaches out, taking it from you and you feel your anger begin to ebb. There, now he has heard what it is. He’ll probably want to unwrap it immediately and dive into the book right away. The thought makes you smile to yourself.
Your lips part in surprise as he turns, setting the unopened parcel down on the couch. He steps toward you and reaches out, taking your hands in his. Despite the warmth of the fire, they still feel cold, tense from the way they had been gripping his present from the moment it was handed over to you til now.
He wraps his long, elegant fingers around yours and begins rubbing your hands between his. His touch sends warmth through you in a way that no flame could ever match.
“But….the book. Don’t you want to read it?” Your voice is small, pin-pricked with uncertainty. You were sure he would immediately dive in, no matter what.
He continues to rub your hands between his, his gaze now meeting yours. What you see in them stops the very air in your lungs and quickens the rhythm of your heart: love the breadth of the sky, the depth of the sea; eternity in the sapphire of his eyes.
“We’ll read it together. After you are properly warmed.” His voice is softer now, much like his touch. He lifts both of your hands to his lips, dropping his head down to place an endearingly awkward kiss on the place they meet. You exhale, a dreamer living out the sweetest of dreams. He raises his head to see your smile and the world fills with light when he returns it, a sight that is yours and only yours.
You lean in, stepping as close to him as your joined hands will let you, your chin tilted up to look into his eyes, as blue and radiant as the wings of a blue Morpho butterfly.
“Well, Prince Chevalier….” You rise onto your toes, pressing an inviting kiss to his lips, “Properly warm me then.”

Holy hell, you’re only 21 and you write that good? Wow, just wow, I’m amazed by your writing, no, blown away by it. You should totally consider writing novels, you have the ability to succeed at it for sure. It’s not often I see someone with such natural talent for making words flow across a page who’s so young. You must have practiced most of your life to get so good at it, I see a bright future ahead of you with your amazing writing. Please continue writing, and do write books. I’d totally read them. Again, holy fuck, amazing writing.
AAAAAAAAAAA OHH THIS WAS THE FIRST THING I READ WHEN I WOKE UP AND IT MADE ME SO HAPPY ;;;; your words are far too kind, anon! yes, i've written for over a decade, and my writing is something i value a lot ;v; so to hear that you enjoy it so much makes me so happy!
i... would like to write a book someday. i'm not unrealistic enough to believe i could make a living off of it, considering the state of the publishing industry, but i do have plenty of ocs and original universes that i'd like to share someday :') for now though, i'm pretty happy writing and sharing fanfiction!

Hi! I just wanted to make sure I tell you that I love your Harrenhal NedCat series before I drop the NedCat prompt that has been harassing me mentally for months:
Basically NedCat as lawyers. Specifically, lawyers that never heard of each other before but are now representing Robert and Cersei respectively in their highly publicized and messy divorce. Ned may or may not also be taking care of Jon while Lyanna is finishing her education (that's what I was headcanoning, but I'm leaving the inclusion of Jon up to your discretion), and Catelyn may have a vaguely canon-inspired B-Plot going on with LF and a possibly pregnant Lysa.
That depends on how elaborate you're willing to go for this prompt. But I'm never going to write this fic myself so I'm hoping to read it from you, please and thank you :) I'm sure it'll be great either way!
Hi, anon! I’m very glad you like the Harrenhal au, that’s so fun to hear! I really want to do an as elaborate and planned out version of this prompt as you have envisioned someday because it’s honestly an amazing idea and I love it, but as of now I unfortunately don’t really have the time for it. Sorry to disappoint in that sense, but I hope this little drabble can bring you some small satisfaction
“Catelyn Tully, pleasure to meet you.”
Ned didn’t have time to look up from his glass before she had sat down on the bar stool next to his. He was so taken by surprise that he just watched her in silence as she ordered a lemon drop martini from the bartender.
“You don’t have to introduce yourself, I know who you are” he said once she had ordered.
They had seen each other for hours every day all week, he was perfectly aware of who she was. Catelyn Tully, apparently an esteemed lawyer, represented Cersei in the divorce. Despite that he had never heard of her before. But she was a sharp thing, that hadn’t taken him more than a few seconds to realise.
She glanced at him, the corners of her lips twitching upwards.
“I know that, Eddard Stark, but I thought a formal introduction would be polite.”
“Is court not formal enough for you, Ms. Tully?”
“You’re not a person to me in court, you’re a lawyer and we have been introduced to each other as such. When you’re sitting here it’s another story.”
She apparently didn’t have less edge out of the courtroom. Quick and clever, Cersei couldn’t have chosen a better representative. Ned would have been worried for Robert if it hadn’t been for that he represented him himself.
“How come you decided to sit here with me?” he asked.
The bar of the hotel was far from empty, but there were still free spots here and there. But she had taken the seat next to his.
“I just came down for a drink and saw a familiar face. Not a lot of those around here.”
She nodded towards the bartender as he put down her martini in front of her.
“Cheers” she said, raising the glass towards him.
“Cheers” he responded, raising his own plain whiskey.
He took a sip while she did, made sure she lowered her glass before he did.
“Your accent isn’t as noticeable when you’re here” she told him. “Is it on purpose?”
The fact that he could not tell if it was curiosity or a taunt bothered him. It could be either, he didn’t know her expressions yet. In court he could read people like a book, but she proved to be more difficult in a private setting.
“I lessen it unconsciously when not around people with my accent” he said calmly. “As most people do with their accent.”
He guessed she had wanted him to ask how she knew what he sounded like usually. If she wanted to tell him she had made her research she would simply have to say it.
“That you’re a northerner is still obvious, but one can barely tell you’re from Winterfell. Surely your years in the Vale must have contributed though” she continued. “How come you didn’t study in Winterfell? That university is great.”
She crossed her legs, leaned slightly more towards him. What was she trying to do? He didn’t understand her at all. Was it an intimidation tactic? Why would she do that?
“I was recommended the University of the Vale by a family friend. You studied in your home city, how come?”
Catelyn Tully wasn’t alone in having made her research. The moment he had realised he had no idea about who she was he had decided to look into it. Born and raised in Riverrun, studied there, still lived there. Not that there was anything wrong with Riverrun, but she could have climbed high in King’s Landing had she chosen that path.
“It’s a wonderful city and studying law there was an opportunity.”
She locked eyes with him, refused to look away. As did he. It felt like a power play of some sorts, a game. He couldn’t decide if it was fun or not.
“And now we’re both here, in the middle of a messy celebrity divorce” he said.
It was beginning to grow uncomfortable, he turned his gaze away and hid in a glass for a moment.
“Though only partly because of skill within our work. I wouldn’t have guessed you knew Mr. Baratheon beforehand if I hadn’t seen you in pictures with him” Catelyn said.
She ran a finger along the brim of her glass. As she did so he noticed the red mark her lipstick had made when she held it to her lips.
She took great care into how she looked. Her hair laid in perfect curls, her dress did not have a wrinkle, her makeup was perfect. Except for the slightly smudged lipstick.
“He also studied in the Vale.”
Not that Robert had studied particularly much, but he had been there.
“But you knew Ms. Lannister beforehand as well, didn’t you?” he asked before she could fire another question at him.
Catelyn laughed, but it struck him how controlled it was. Almost rehearsed. She knew what she was doing down to the smallest detail. How she sat, how she spoke, what she said, how she laughed.
“That story’s not as proper as yours” she said.
“Nothing about this whole story is proper.”
“That’s why people enjoy it.”
It was on the cover of every tabloid in the whole country, the topic on everyone’s lips. The whole marriage between Cersei Lannister and Robert Baratheon had been tumultuous, and when it crashed and burned everyone wanted to see the spectacle for some reason. He had never quite figured out the obsession with celebrity relationships.
“I don’t understand it in the least” Ned confessed.
“Neither do I, dearest colleague, neither do I.”
He noticed how her gaze ran over him, from his head to his feet.
“It’s been long since I did a divorce” she then asked. “Do you think they ever loved each other?”
Fighting to keep his face from showing his surprise at that proved to be a challenge, but Ned managed it. He had been told that was one of his strengths in his career, the way he could always keep a cool expression.
“Does it matter?” he countered.
“Do you think so?”
Ned leaned against the bar disk, considered for a moment. It was all an ugly and angry mess, would it be even uglier if there had been love there before? Why had they even married in the first place? He had wondered that several times.
“As we both know this is a terrible mess, but it’s even sadder if they ever did love each other” he said. “So in that sense it does matter.”
Catelyn considered for a moment, looking down at her drink.
“I agree with you” she then said.
As Ned’s phone buzzed the screen lit up, making the time visible. It was quite late and he had to get up early the next morning. The same went for her.
So he downed the last mouthful of his whiskey and put the empty glass down before him.
“I believe it’s time for me to get back to my room” he told her, beginning to stand up. “But it was nice talking to you.”
She nodded towards him, a small smile playing on her lips.
“Very nice indeed.”
Then he turned and left without another word, still trying to wrap his head around her and their conversation. What had that all been about?
