Here's a 3am post about Lenore and Annabel Lee's death. If the logic isn't...there it's because I just woke up from it being too hot to sleep.

Anyway, in some earlier posts I made it clear that I believe Anna and Leo most likely died by their fathers' hand after they were found out to be scheming to get married and run away together.

But I was having my daily Nevermore brainrot when a thought popped up in my head about the latest class specifically it's location, Mystery Manor. The goal: to get to the Widow's watch and ring the bell.

But if a student were to get up there after getting past every Specterd being, they have to face the last one: The Lady in White.

Now, I've been thinking that it may not be just a coincidence since the Widow's Watch correlates more to Annabel's Spectre than anyone. It also led me to believe that Annabel wasn't the one to die first. Lenore was, making her a widow. Technically, it doesn't make sense sense she was yet to be married but died before it but I still went along with the thought.

It got me thinking of the next person who could've taken an opportunity to find out who Lenore was and kill her which is the other potential suitor and childhood friend of Annabel. Okay, now I still think Annabel's father still killed her but back to the suitor. Her social season is ending and he just so happens to show up to take what he thinks was always his. Annabel's hand in marriage.

So he pulls up and sees this Leo guy succeeding to court Anna and gets suspicious. It reminds me of Jafar from Aladdin so can we just refer to him as such in this post for now lol. Anyway, Jafar suddenly wants to get to the bottom of who this Leo guy is and find out that he isn't a guy at all. He may even fimd out he's plotting with Annabel Lee.

This causes him to go start snitchin to Anna's father. Or even wanting to get revenge on their big day because Mr. Whitlock doesn't believe him at all. So he shoots Lenore first and tries to expose Annabel for their scheming.

There would be conflict between Annabel, Jafar and her father about knowing she was a girl. This could lead to Mr. Whitlock killing her for this. It's unexpected from everyone, especially Annabel Lee who expected to habe her father by her sode always. Whether he thought killing her would be, in a sick and twisted way, for her own good I really don't know.

But that's the gist of this theory. It's been forty minutes and I might look for a snack or go back to bed but thanks for reading and don't be afraid to add on, debunk, whatever it is but just no hate or I'll cry and that's a threat.🚶🏾‍♀️see ya.

There's something so disingenuous about critics and fans who describe Nathan Shelley as an evil, irrational, ungrateful, unsympathetic villain. And then tack on praise for Nick Mohammed for bringing such an awful, vile creature to life.

As if that was Nick Mohammed's intention. As if all of his acting choices were carefully made so that the audience would perceive his character with such vehement (and often violent) hatred. As if he approached this character like a cartoon villain that everyone loves to hate.

That clearly hasn't been what Nick Mohammed's trying to do. It's obvious in his interviews and social media and--if one bothers to actually watch--the fucking show itself.

Deeply mischaracterizing Nick Mohammed's performance and then praising him for it reads like an excuse for so passionately hating Nathan Shelley. "Nate is an irredeemable piece of shit and I cry blood whenever I see him, but kudos to the actor for making me feel so irrationally enraged." Like, no, bro, you whipped yourself into that fervor. Nick Mohammed could be the worst actor in the entire world, and people would still hate Nathan because (1) he'd still look like Nick Mohammed, and (2) the writers still wouldn't have adjusted their storytelling to compensate for the limited sympathy white audiences possess for characters of color.

Seeing this so consistently (including from professional reviewers), I can't help but feel it's a response to actors in other projects being harassed, stalked, doxxed, and threatened with death, because audiences hate their character. (I'm thinking of Kelly Marie Tran, Anna Gunn, and way too many actors from The Walking Dead.)

It's a pattern. Step One: audiences cannot or will not empathize with (or even just let exist) a character due to their gender, race, disability, fatness, etc. Step Two: audiences direct their rage at the actor for playing that character and/or the audacity of stealing screentime that rightfully belongs to the main white dude.

The formula of bashing Nathan and praising Nick feels like a way to separate oneself from the people who also bash Nick. (For example, the people who tweet "I hate @NickMohammed.") It's a way to not seem like One of Those Awful People without interrogating the forces preventing the extension of one's sympathies to Nathan. But not doing Step Two doesn't make up for still doing Step One.

I don't think it's a good sign if so many people talk about a character in a manner they feel immediately requires an implied "but don't form a hate mob against the actor" addendum. Like, if one's take on a character could be construed as a call to violence, maybe one should rethink that take. And not just add, "the actor deserves ALL THE EMMYS and definitely not to get murdered on the street."

If you tell her she's Elsa, she would take offence and start on an hour long speech showing you why she's a Tiana without the daddy issues. ...there's a 2/10 because look she now likes Disney Princesses and is informed about them enough to identify with one.

Raina: 9/10. Definitely yes, but add that she'll start crying halfway because she's a crybaby when drunk and will burst at nothing. "Your hair is SO pretty! Such lustruous and shiny! It's clear you take so much care of it and it shows you're so pretty! *sobs* You take so much care of your hair! So, so much!" *sobs sobs*

She will unironically like Frozen even if she'd find Let it Go annoying, as a song. For the joy of all her friends who won't have to deal with her killing it at the next karaoke session. She'll get Fixer Upper stuck in her head, tho, and will laugh so hard at Lost in the Woods in the second movie. Lost in the Woods will then proceed in being a favourite of her at karaoke night.

Aisling: 10/10 Yes, she will also sing them aloud, with emotion, if you give her a clue. DadWolf AU: Cullen dragged her and Dorian to more than one Ed Sheeran concert which metalhead Aisling told she absolutely loathed and just went because she was such a good friend (and he promised to buy her pizza on their way back). Books I Read In 2023, Part One

In January I decided I wanted to track my reading, as I usually don't really have a sense of how much I read per month or year. I don't like things like Goodreads, so I just jotted down the books I read and what I thought of them in my notes app. Now that we're halfway through the year, I thought I might share what I've read, and then in December I can add part 2. So, without further ado,

January

The Girl From The Sea by Molly Knox Ostertag. 3 stars, a bit slow but generally sweet and fun.

Jackalope Wives And Other Stories by T Kingfisher. 5 stars, every story slapped. would highly recommend if you like dark fairytales with a sense of humour.

February

started Helen Of Troy by Margaret George. I still haven't finished it (she is LONG) but i'm really enjoying it!

I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman. 4.5 stars, it was entertaining and emotional like all of Alice Oseman's books but i have to deduct a half a star for the main character (who is from the south) briefly assuming with no basis that being from north = transphobic and the narrative treating this as a rational assumption and not super bigoted and classist, like what the hell was that about? also via this interaction Alice Oseman managed to find yet another way to mention Durham in her books but this time i couldn't even go "yay i'm from there!" because now have this sense that she thinks i'm predisposed to transphobia because of where i'm from. i cannot stress this enough: what the fuck.

The Prince And The Dressmaker by Jen Wang. 5 stars, so heartwarming and i loved the art! I'm trying to get one of my friends to read it because I just know he'll relate.

March

The Lives Of The Saints by Leigh Bardugo. 3 stars, not really my jam but it adds another layer to her other books, which I really enjoy.

Fun Home by Alison Bechdel. 3 stars, made my head hurt at times because it's kinda convoluted, but still super interesting. the musical is great too. and before you mention it, yes, i am reading Dykes To Watch Out For, but it's not on the list because I just started it, and I will probably read the bulk of it and finish it in July so it will fall under there.

Lies We Sing To The Sea by Sarah Underwood. 3.5 stars, i'll be honest, i read this out of morbid curiosity and spite. it was a pretty average for a YA book really, not worth all the drama it stirred up in the classics community, but the end surprised me so it gets an extra half star.

A Fatal Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum: Murder In Ancient Rome by Emma Southon. 4 stars, really interesting and quite funny at times but i just don't really like the author's vibe. she's weirdly defensive of Caligula, just as she was in her book on Agrippina that i read last year. like yeah people make fun of him and exaggerate stories about him but he literally killed people, maybe he deserves it.

Messalina: A Story Of Empire, Slander And Adultery by Honor Cargill-Martin. 5 stars, super interesting and engaging, i never wanted to put it down! Messalina really did just girlboss too close to the sun.

I travelled this month so didn't have time for any other books, but I bought my own weight in them and will try to work through them.

June

Rain Hare by Anna Barker. 4 stars, a collection of short stories so a mixed bag. I really liked most of them, some even made me cry (to be precise, How Do I Feel About Lentils?, which does an excellent job of blending past and present to help the reader get into the confused mind of the narrator, who has Alzheimer's, and Tunny, wherein the twist hit me like a sack of bricks and all I could do was break down) but there was just one i didn't really like (Sea Glass, i just don't really vibe with the mentally ill narrator dying at the end and this being presented as what she wanted.)

Through The Woods by Emily Carroll. 3.5 stars, good horror, the art was great and the stories interesting, but they all felt like they ended just a bit too soon and therefore lost some of their impact.

Our Wives Under The Sea by Julia Armfield. 6 stars, yes, i'm straight up giving this 6 out of 5 stars because it was so so good! i devoured it in one day flat and loved it. the horror was atmospheric and gripping, the romance made my chest ache, and the ending absolutely devastated me, but in a good way.

so yeah, hopefully i can continue to get through my massive TBR pile in the coming months! and if you've read any of these books, please let me know what you think, I would love to talk about them!!

Jamie sweeps her into his arms. “How wonderful! I thought it would be a month more, not that I am complaining.”

 

“He wanted it as badly as I did. So it was able to be expiated.”

 

“Congratulations,” Jenny enthuses, “finally free of that cheating  numpty. Now to get Jamie free so you two can marry. Preferably before you start showing.” She is smirking. They look at each other.

 

“How did you know?”

 

Her grin widens, “After five children, come on. I think it is wonderful, by the way, and understand why you didn’t want to say anything. With that witch,” she never revers to her sister-in-law by name anymore, “you always wished for a child. Randall was blessedly sterile, Lord knows how many wee Randall’s would be about weren’t he. I am glad that you are finally getting the child and happiness you deserve.”

 

She is laughing and crying as she hugs her. “We were going to tell you after the appointment tomorrow. Willa and Rose know. Willa guessed.”

 

“Saw her sick the other morning.” Jamie added. He can’t stop smiling. Were he free of Anna, everything would be perfect. He joins their hug.

 

“See, right there, that is the …”

 

“Embryonic sac.” Claire completes.

 

“Right, sorry Miss Beauchamp. I forgot you are a doctor. As you can tell, the pregnancy is well established.”

Rewatched Phoenix priestess today (Had a friend who knows only what I've told him and like 70% of it is the au) and I relished in the Gajeel and Thunder legion content.

Like Gajeel was great but can I just focus on Laxus for a moment.

First of all, he was manic when he showed up, don't think I've ever seen him that animated (I know movie equals bigger budget but he doesn't show up in dragon cry from what I remember and I forgot he was in this movie) and also I think my new favourite scene is when he lands a hit and uses his lightning to zip over and float next to Freed and excitedly yell "Yes" like I loved how happy Laxus was post GMG and pre Tartarous and I wish he'd gotten longer for that happiness before literally almost dying and then slowly dying and then going to war and almost dying. Plus I totally relished in the Thunder legion screentime cause they deserve so much more than they got post Tenrou (Like they are least got decent treatment during Tenrou with them all getting at least one good fight (although Evergreen pulled the short straw there) but KOTSH doesn't show us Freed and Gray's fight, just a little of Evergreen, Erza and Max's and Bickslow and Wendy get a good go, gmg they do get to help in the dragon fight but they sorta get less focus cause of the dragon slayer, and they're taken out literally first fight in Tartarous and Alvarez. They deserve better) also Bickslow has amazing balance to be able to stand on only one baby and the movie actually remembered that Freed has wings cause he hardly ever uses them in the series (the Wendy's job episode is an example where Happy is like "I can't carry you both" and I'm just sitting with my eyebrows up my forehead because Freed has wings. He can fly on his own Happy) and I love how pretty Freed's wings are and how unique they look.

Also the fact that during a wide shot scene Gajeel was just blinking the phoenix on the head repeatedly was funny. In fact Gajeel in general was great fun. Getting to see him and Lily being sneaky spies was great plus it does add the fact that Makarov just has Gajeel as his go too spy and that is amazing and I bet Gajeel totally loves it because of his love of mysteries (he absolutely watches and reads detective novels and movies) Plus the end pictures where he's eating a full pipe part then later him and Natsu try to make each other eat their element was funny.

I was also repeatedly pointing out Alzack to my friend whenever he showed up cause I sorta made him stand in a like 40 min line to meet his English voice actor. He didn't speak (despite being credited which I dunno) but I pointed him out anyway.

I'm a little disappointed that they didn't bring in other guilds but I understand that it being an 82 min movie, not even feature length would make it a lot harder to provide adequate screen time to additional characters (also probably why a lot of the side cast didn't get many or any lines like how Jet is there during the Erza and Makarov scenes but is just silent) like it would make a bit of sense to at least get like Rogue since shadows and one of the enemies uses shadow and metal so it would have been cool to see a fight where Gajeel and Rogue team up (Before Acno fight)

I might make a little side story of the two movies for the au cause I do like them (and I'm pretty sure I remember seeing somewhere at least PP is canon to the manga like KOTSH) and there is at least small amounts of world building. (Also noticed that aside from 7, 400 is the other common number featured in the series. Literally so many things are either from or linked to 400 years in the past. Irene, Acno, the dragon slayers and dragons, Future Rogue's plan for the dragons, dragon slayer magic, the dragon cry, Zonia(I think is her name), Anna and so on.)

Ok im always lost when it comes to OUAT timelines, but this particular post is about Will Scarlet and OUATIW and where OUATIW goes on the OUAT timeline:

Ok so like when does OUATIW take place like?? In Season 4 of OUAT, he is not with Ana at all, but he and Robin talk about when he runs off with her, which implies that OUATIW is after Season 4 of OUAT, but I keep hearing it takes place right after season 2?? but like also how and why does Will go back to Storybrooke after Ana leaves him is this ever explained?

ok i can live with that, but then there's also the fact that he is affected by the spell of shattered sight which would mean his heart is back in his chest (as Mr. Gold explains that people without their hearts are not affected by it) BUT if his heart is back then that means season 4 is AFTER OUATIW which creates many more plotholes like why he is in storybrooke ALONE, and why he dates belle at one point cause that would be cheating on Ana.

i will say that if we assume that OUATIW is just after season 4 of OUAT (once we stop seeing Will), then that means there's only one plothole between the two shows (Will's heart, which we don't even know for sure that he was affected by the spell, maybe he just decided to try to beat up Hook) which is honestly pretty good given the amount of potential there was for plotholes with having the spin-off series.

Ok so it would make perfect sense if we just have OUATIW right after season 4 EXCEPT in the last episode of OUATIW we see Alice writing the book “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”, the same book that Will gets arrested for stealing in season 4, making all of this more complicated. With this information, we can also add one other part, his reaction to the book. That would entail that he had already had his adventures with Alice (assisting in the idea that OUATIW was BEFORE season 4). However, in that same scene (where Will and Emma are talking about the book), Will starts crying implying his sadness for the loss of Anastasia (since idk what else he’d really be crying about), implying that OUATIW is AFTER season 4. I’m literally gonna cry.

So, to reiterate our evidence for each side (OUATIW being BEFORE or AFTER OUAT season 4):

-BEFORE:

—I’m cannon it’s supposed to be during/right after season 2

—He’s effected by the spell of shattered sight meaning he has his heart

—The book that Alice literally WROTE can’t exist before she writes it??

—Also his reaction to the Emma talking about the book would make more sense if the adventures already happened

-AFTER

—Anna’s not with him during season 4

—He literally dates Belle

—He cries about losing Ana

Even though the before side has more facts, just the sheer fact that he dates Belle (and seems to have his same “heartless” personality we only see from him without his heart) is so relevant (since it would make absolutely zero sense for him to cheat in his one true love) that I’m just going to say that OUATIW takes place directly after the end of season 4.

The torture of disabled people is *still* legal in the US. And it’s still happening at the Judge Rotenburg Center in Massachusetts.

In 2010 the UN declared the devices torture!

In 2021 the DC circuit overturned the FDA ban to allow it to continue!

JRC uses this method of "punishment" alongside a reward room where children can spend points they earned by being good.

A common practice used in ABA.

Children as young as 3 years old attend this school and the students wear electrodes up to 24 hrs a day 7 days a week to receive "correction". This is a boarding school, students do not go home. They live at the school recieving this treatment everyday with chances of visits for good behaviour.

The UN has even reported the school as abusive and appealed to the US government to have this practice stopped.

Apparently the DC circuits claimed it's abusive but for a good purpose and that the devices are banned for general use but totally fine for one single purpose... this one.

But of course these would be illegal on criminals or in military use to extract information that could be "for a good purpose" because it's abusive and violates all sorts of laws.... but apparently not when the person is a vulnerable autistic or disabled person.

One parent sent their child to the school because he wouldn't allow physical contact in the form of hugs and would bite his arms. The child is now a young man of 24 and still lives at the school with occasional visits from his parents.

This is the most absolutely ridiculous thing to electrocute someone for and even more if the person needs 10+ years of their program and still has not graduated that should be proof it's not effective.

(Spoilers up to Chapter 3 of Fire Emblem: Engage.)

With the walls breached and Queen Lumera dead, Lythos Castle is no longer a safe haven.

Vander has a suggestion: they make the Somniel their home base. It's where the Divine Stewards watched over A'lear for a millenium, so he and the twins know the place well. There's plenty of room for guests—royal dignitaries, including Alfred, used to visit A'lear in her slumber—and facilities, too. And as a floating island, it can move about a little bit, making it a mobile base of operations.

A'lear, still a little shaken, asks if the floating mansion island is defensible.

"Fear not, Divine One," says Vander. "It's only possible to enter the Somniel with a Divine Dragon's permission."

A'lear is the only Divine Dragon left, as far as she knows... so that means...

"Yes. This is impenetrable plot armour."

A'lear is hesitant. "Are you sure? Is it possible that a Deus ex Machina blatantly contradicts this and turns the one place I thought I was safe into a traumatising battleground?"

"No, Divine One. Not in the main story, though I make no such promises for the DLC."

"So why couldn't Lumera put the same enchantment on Lythos Castle?"

"You're in grief, Divine One. This is not a plot hole, it probably took an enormous amount of power for her to ward the Somniel like that. The Castle is far bigger, and as a capitol building it sees more regular foot traffic."

"She could have put that enchantment on the Ring Chamber!" A'lear wails.

"Perhaps. Perhaps not." Vander embraces his ward gently. "We just don't understand how magic works."

"It's true," says Clanne somberly, "we don't."

It's still night time when they arrive at the Somniel. There'll be time to explore later, but first—

—free FEH merch! We get three S-rank bond rings, and three D-rank weapons, corresponding to the Askr trio. Both sets are pretty damned good, especially for freebies.

Bond rings, which we're seeing for the first time, are alternatives to Emblem Rings. They range from C/B/A/S rank, and are obtained via an annoying gacha mechanic (that eats through our premium currency, Bond Fragments), complete with merges, etc. Bond rings grant the wearer a stat boost, and earn them 0.5 SP for every EXP earned (as opposed to the Emblem Rings' 1:1). Some S-rank Bond Rings also grant a passive skill. We get Spur Atk, Spur Res, and Fortify Def from the Alfonse, Sharena and Anna bond rings.

The free weapons (Folkvangr, Fensalir, and Noatun) are like if a steel sword, lance, and axe forewent 5% crit, in exchange for:

5% extra hit rate, and

1 extra might, and

2 less weight.

These are easily among the best early game melee weapons, and they're free both in-game and IRL(*).

Not only that: they all cost less gold to refine than their Steel counterparts, and their ore costs are quite competitive too. Our army doesn't even have Steel weapons yet, so these will be getting some use for sure.

On to the rest of the Somniel! It's a bit empty right now, but there's an orchard with fruit, some Bond Fragments sitting in a grotto, and a little farmyard. A'lear looks at the farmyard, which must have been put there by someone who knew she liked animals... no, too soon, she'll put those feelings aside for later when she's alone. The farmyard is empty... and in the back of her mind, the seed of an idea takes root.

Oh and she finds some horse manure! Maybe that'll be useful later. Better add it to her inventory.

A'lear collapses into bed and is woken up by Framme with a slightly cheeky deja vu prank.

Once per Somniel reset(**), someone wakes A'lear up from her sleep, with some special dialogue depending on their support level. Various dialogue alludes to a duty roster for this.

One assumes A'lear wants these wake-up visits, but considering how much Protagonist Syndrome affects the cast's treatment of her (omfg! the Divine Dragon! what an honour!) it's entirely possible that this is just an excuse for people to come stare at her just like old times. Idk.

But on to business.

Firene is requesting Lythos's aid—this is why Prince Alfred was around in the first place. Across Firene, towns are being attacked by Corrupted. And though it was really Lumera's aid the Firenese wanted, A'lear is Lumera's successor, and she won't shirk in her duties.

Besides, it's time for A'lear to start on her Grand Quest to collect all the Emblem Rings. And one such Ring awaits them at Firene Castle: the Ring of the Caring Princess.

(*) The only cost, if you're reading this before 5 April 2023, is downloading a gacha game (which is a mental cost) and connecting it to one's Nintendo account. I already have a poorly maintained FEH account (mutuals, that's 4731965877 🥺👉👈) so this was a no-brainer.

(**) Somniel resets occur after every battle. These refresh all limited activities, and random item drops, and the Ancient Well.

On Maddening, resets occur per world map battle, so no using online Tower of Trials for easy farmyard+support farming. ;_; Even so, it'll be useful to grind Relay Trials for Seals. Those things are scarce and pricey.

postgame i think lati quest, hoopa was a lot of fun, jirachi is maybe not your traditional definition of fun but gutted me pretty hard so i have to add that one, celebi bc first quest i worked on so more bias, and tao bc im biased once again

this answer is like 99% spoilers im sorry this is not a helpful answer but if it's a part people know def coming back to the city after it's rebuilt and seeing it all cleaned up and there suddenly being a ton to see and explore and it's all pretty was almost jarring the first time i played through and it still always makes me smile or the void the void is a good one

I'm going to surprise exactly no one and say I love the tourmaline arc- especially on Reshi but also on Zek, there's a lot of environmental storytelling out there and I really love the Train Towners

I've also got a soft spot for the entire glass workstation arc- I think the storytelling there is masterful.

Apart from that… I like (redacted: the maingame ending where Anna gathers everyone's good thoughts and hopes to help you reach Lin; that made my heart just shine), (redacted: Celebi), (redacted: Hoopa, that was a freaking riot), (redacted: dialkia because there are BABIES and also neat lore), (redacted: Darkrai, it's mean but in a very good way), (redacted: the entirety of Xernyvel. Noel my beloved; puzzle my beloved; Shelly my beloved) (redacted: tao, all of it) and probably other things I can think of when it's not almost 3am, but they'd all be redacted too. Oh yeah definitely the e4 too Victory Road itself was fun too but more because I liked the puzzles

Here we are. As you might have guessed, I have a lot to say.

I never thought it would be this good. Even in my wildest dreams, even with my sky high expectations, I never thought the show would add this much depth to the game, I never thought I would love this Joel and Ellie as much (though differently) than the Joel and Ellie in the game.

Ashley as Anna was the best casting choice in a show filled with incredible casting choices

And her having Ellie's knife...it's such a small detail but just made my heart so full

I really love that they kept him saying that she's "extra quiet today." It's such a small, tiny little line, but it really is one of my favorites in the game, and I really couldn't even tell you why.

Them keeping every detail of the giraffe scene...thank you.

Him smiling and her laugh, it just adds more. I sound like a broken record, but the way he smiles at her and the way she laughs, everything that happened just melts away in that tiny moment, and it's the last moment they have like this, before the lie, before everything changes.

I'll probably talk more about his in a separate post, but I think it's worth saying again that Joel is my favorite video game character of all time. I have loved him for almost a full decade, and I didn't think I could love him more. But when he sat down and he told Ellie the truth about his scar, I just..it's a kind of vulnerability I never expected from him, and to tell her something that even I didn't know (though I think I assumed).

The moment he said that he was the one that missed, I curled up into myself.

"It wasn't time that did it."

Him asking for the jokebook to lighten the mood, and telling her a joke was 0/10, I will cling to these things forever.

So glad they explained Ellie's immunity differently, I was so tired of hearing people bitch and complain about how Joel was actually completely right to save Ellie because a vaccine wouldn't have worked anyway.

Here's the thing: Joel isn't good. He is, in fact, bad in many, many people's stories. There are no heroes in these games, there are no heroes in this world, and Joel is just as much a villain as Abby is. Maybe even moreso, in some ways. Would I have done the same as Joel? Probably, but I am so glad that they have really hammered home the point that he was not "right" because there was no right choice.

I'm so glad they kept the hospital fight scene, and kept the machine gun.

Showing the faces of the Fireflies he kills is so perfect. Making us look at what he's doing.

The way he shoots Jerry immediately, no hesitation

And the focus on Jerry dead on the ground...Abs.

One of those doctors is absolutely Mel.

AND LAURA BAILEY PLAYED ONE OF THEM!!!!!!! ABBY HERE WE COME!!!

And so begins the lie. The big lie.

They kept so much of the end of the game, and I think it's largely because the end of the game is nearly perfect.

"I think you would have made her laugh." Peace y'all I've had enough.

Here's the thing about The Last of Us: it's not the game. Ashley's Ellie and Bella's Ellie are not the same, just like Troy's Joel and Pedro's Joel aren't either. But I think that's a strength. I love this Ellie and this Joel just as much as game Ellie and game Joel, but I love them for different reasons. I love this Ellie's dryness, her sadistic streak, and her fear. I love this Joel's gentleness, his laugh, and his willingness to be open, even if he's afraid of it. They aren't the same, and that's a good thing.

I love these games more than any other. Everyone in my life has heard me talk about them at length, and to have this adaptation, this incredible adaptation at my fingertips at any time, made by people who care so much about the games? It just makes me really emotional.

I also want to say one thing about Part II and season 2...I know how bad the takes are going to be, I know how much people will hate Abby, no matter where the story takes her or what her narrative journey is. Already, I'm seeing nasty videos and posts about her sections of Part II, but if you, like me, love Abby just as much as Ellie, I have full and complete faith that Craig and Neil will do everything they can to do her story justice, and I for one am so excited for it.

OTP-flexible in that I'm ride or die for my main ship, but I'm also multishippish and just love seeing different takes on characters, and I like crossovers... I also often like canon ships, I'm boring like that. ❤️ Let's see.

Slade Wilson/Linda Park - it writes itself. Right? Or it's at least possible. Same with Slade/Amanda Waller.

Slade Wilson (Arrow)/Rose Wilson (Titans) - this specific crossover. Slade/Rose is a very particular dirtybadwrong dynamic in the comics and on Titans, but this could be so delicious... Rose would do a number on Arrowverse Slade. Who needs daddy issues when you can have daughter issues?

Allanon/Yennefer (The Witcher) - I have @swingrlm to thank for this, as well as a ton of other plot bunnies as well. Time and dimension hopping is canon in Witcher...

Mareth/Wil/Wil's parents - Hear me out. Time travel. "Harvest festival." Back to the Future. Ritual... congregation. See?
