Um, so I might not be the best person to ask about nightclub related things... I haven't been to many of them. I am an introverted homebody lol.

I'm not sure what you mean by roles? Like what kinda jobs they'd have if they worked at a nightclub?

Because if that's what you mean, then I can tell you what I think they'd all do! And I'm gonna say that Asmo just came up with stage names for all of them because he felt like it, no matter what they end up doing.

Asmo is absolutely on stage. No question about it. Whether he's singing or pole dancing or doing drag or whatever, that guy's the center of attention! Stage name: I kinda think he'd go for the single name. It's just straight up ASMODEUS. Probably stylized all in caps like that, too.

Beel is the bouncer. Not working the door, but watching things on the inside. Big and quiet and can easily pick up rowdy demons and toss them outside without a second look. Stage name: I kinda think Asmo could talk him into doing pole dancing. Because you know, it's super athletic and requires a lot of strength. I kinda feel like it'd end up being something about his muscles. Mr. Buffington perhaps. LOL. I dunno how serious these stage names are. Beel would probably be like uhhhh I'm just Beel.

Mammon is the finance guy. Most of the time, he's just crunching numbers, but when the club is in action, he's out on the dance floor, just kinda bringing some ambiance with his enthusiastic personality. Yeah, he might be trying to get people to buy the most expensive drinks, but he's also having the time of his life so nobody minds. Stage name: I like the idea that Mammon regularly gets into his dame outfit. Either straight up calls himself Goldie or something like... Lady Grimm. LOL!

Satan is bar tending. I don't know why, but I just think he'd be good at it. And he's probably the most competent one to be handling all that booze anyway. Lucifer would probably do a good job, but he can't be trusted around the Demonus. Stage name: because Asmo makes him wear cat ears all the time, he's obviously going to be something like Kitty Meow Meow. Anyone who actually calls him this gets decked.

Levi is handling all the tech. Stage lights? Fog machine? Audio equipment? This guy is on it! Hides most of the time and plays video games when he's not needed. Hates being out in the main area so hides in vip lounges all the time. Stage name: Lord of Shadows! Asmo can come up with whatever cutesy thing he wants, but Levi won't go by anything else. It doesn't matter because he would never actually be on stage so Asmo lets it be.

Belphie helps out with bar tending. He's too sleepy to partake of too much alcohol, it'd just make him sleepier. But he's smart and he's good at keeping an eye out for creepers trying to roofie drinks. He looks like he's not paying attention, but he notices everything. Subtly lets Beel know when there's a creeper that needs to be escorted out. Stage name: because I like the idea that Belphie will also sometimes do the dame thing and then he just goes by Belle - simple, elegant, and Asmo approved.

Lucifer oversees everything. He's the manager, of course. Makes sure everybody else is doing what they're supposed to. Hires extra muscles for Beel when needed. Only has the best demons working the door. Books musical gigs when Asmo's not performing. Keeps himself away from the alcohol and the Anti Lucifer League lol. Stage name: only on rare occasions does Lucifer do anything that would require a stage name and then he goes by Morningstar. Asmo's so awestruck he wouldn't even dream of protesting.

OKAY well I did my best lol. I'm sorry if this isn't really what you were looking for! You can always send me another ask with more detail on what exactly you're thinking of. But yeah, my knowledge of this stuff is lacking in general.

absolutely it does because i have v1 make a whole plethora of little sounds that largely come from its mechanisms/a rudimentary chip that could produce various beeps to communicate in case of hardware failures. largely it uses these for its own amusement, but it also begins to use them with gabriel in addition to its body language to help express how it feels or what it's thinking. also probably uses them to pretend to be cute, luring gabe right into its trap where it GETS him

Will possession be an imminent part of the story or will we be able to stop it from ever happening?

It'll happen briefly in the beginning (if you read the prologue, there's a kinda similar scene in chapter one), and there is one key scene way later on that has to happen for Reasons, but outside of that it's dependent on your choices.

You have a series of stats called 'Chains' and one of them is The Voice's Possession. If you keep this low, then you're fine. In the mid ranges you'll get things like them moving your body out of the way, directing your attention at things, etc. High possession is when they can directly take over if they wanted to. This really just allows the option to show up for you to offer that to them if you wanted/needed to. Usually.

Resisting their control doesn't affect their romance/friendship stats either most of the time. How high it is just decides the dynamic between you two.

It’s fine! Most of this is just how it is in the US, so I don’t entirely know how much of it is accurate to other places. Which is more or less why it’s always important to ask people who are more involved into what you’re trying to do! (Basically some people told me that I’d have a better chance doing what i wanted to do if i had a different major lol-)

no i don't, not at all!!! and i totally get why one would think that, and it’s not actually the first time i come across this take, but--okay, how do i even say this?

i feel like whenever we talk about this we always forget the guardians are also being forced into this whole mafia thing, in their own ways. like, they’re kids too having their hands forced by people so much stronger than them. take gokudera for example, when reborn of all people asks him to show up to namimori. well, what the hell else was he supposed to do but show up independently of how he felt about it??

and okay, just get this please, but reborn picks them and throws them in tsuna’s life as possible fitting guardians first and foremost to begin with. like, it’s never about them becoming his friends, and in fact it’s tsuna who then earns their friendship all by himself and actually makes them stay by his side. and what i’m saying is that his guardians are used as both the carrot and the stick for tsuna to do something about all the mafia shit they keep throwing at him and get himself involved more and more in it even if it’s the last thing he wants, but tsuna is used as their carrot and stick too so they'll help him do all of that, instead of backing down from the whole thing the way they could much easier than tsuna at the very least.

and because when it comes to them the focus isn’t on people so much more powerful than them/power so inescapable forcing their hands like reborn/vongola with tsuna, it’s easy to think they’re actually perfectly okay with all of it, but it’s like. well, they are willing to be a part of all of it, but for tsuna. because they know tsuna has no way out of it. so of course they’re willing and happy to be there for him through it all at the very least, and help him survive the whole thing, because they’re his friends. and they’re good friends too. so it has much less to do with them wanting to become and being okay with being mafia (tho for sure, some of them are more or less okay with that), and much more (and first and foremost) with them wanting to be there for tsuna and being okay with the fact that in this case, it means becoming mafia as much as tsuna himself is being forced to become mafia too at the very least.

because they’re good friends to him nonny, do you hear me!!! but they’re also all middle schoolers, and they’re all making friends for the first time too in their own ways, so of course they’re clumsy with it at times, especially seeing the circumstances in which they’re making friends. and they’re also hurtful and careless with each other at times too, and as an example i’m thinking of gokudera keeping calling tsuna tenth even if tsuna explicitly says he doesn’t want him to, because i know it’s often held against him, and as much as i’m not saying it shouldn’t be held against him, i am saying the intention is never to hurt each other or force their wants on each other. they’re always well-meaning even in their mistakes and in learning to become better friends for each other.

i also think it’s quite unfair to call them selfish for deciding to have tsuna back even if they have an easier way out of the whole thing than him should they want it to, because, like. they make sacrifices of their own too to be able to have his back. ryohei with inevitably ending up involving kyoko in this whole mess, yams with losing his dad in the future arc even if they managed to undo it in the end, lambo giving up on his chance of having a normal childhood, chrome giving up on her civilian life even if it’s much more for mukuro than for tsuna, and mukuro “giving up” on his revenge on the mafia to an extent. (and i can’t come up with anything for hibari and gokudera off the top of my head right now, but still, still!!!)

i just? again i want to say this is a very valid interpretation of their attitudes, but i just want to make you consider this other interpretation i feel is just as valid, and yet never considered somehow lol?

but yes, no i don’t think they’re selfish for dealing with suddenly getting dragged into the mafia as best as they can (for those who weren’t already mafia before anyway); yes i do get it’s frustrating it’s easier on them to make peace with that when for them the question is "do i want to stand by tsuna through this?" and less "am i okay with the mafia turning my life upside-down and putting at risk everything i care about?" like it is for tsuna, and so they come as tactless/hurtful towards him because they don’t realize it is (and unfortunately they weren’t made to grow out of it); but yes i firmly believe their friendship is very much an equal one and equally supportive on both sides despite it.

Tbh I want to say Alex is better, mainly for Kylie’s sake because it’s obvious that she has a crush on him, but he doesn’t notice her because of his love triangle with Jackie and his insecurities about Cole.

While book 3 states that Jeremiah brings a date to the Bonrad wedding, I don’t really want him to get a love interest at the end of the series. It’s not that he doesn’t deserve love, it’s just that in the book, his partner is sprung out of nowhere and is supposed to symbolize him getting over Belly and his inferiority complex against Conrad. However, I don’t think these conflicts can be easily resolved by Jeremiah simply finding someone else. Even if he does gets a date in s3 and they end up being long-term or just a fling, he still got that emotional manipulation streak.

the only date that jeremiah should have is with a therapist so that he stops hating his older brother for simply existing and being superior in every way 🫶🏼

while he is whispering in this clip, his voice does sound... a little bit high pitched, and so i figured that a logical explanation (that also ties in with the idea that he has low testosterone) would be that his voice just kinda... never dropped!

...but i also think that his voice is pretty versatile in range, i.e., he's a particularly good voice actor, and his voice when he isn't whispering sounds a bit like billy lenz from black christmas :3

Okay blood enjoyers! I come back with more thoughts.

I still need to see if I can find a resource on soft tissue injuries in cephalopods, because I’d prefer to use that as my model, but I’ve developed my own model in the mean time.

I’m assuming copper is an easy nutrient to find on Vulcan (n.b. I should address possibility of humans getting copper poisoning), so hemocyanin isn’t a resource to be conserved. The long progress of bruise healing is because humans conserve iron and recycle it, which is is hate been holding up progress, as there’s no comparison to heme for Vulcans to break down. If copper is not worth recycling, though — and given the vast quantities needed for the construction of a Vulcan-appropriate hemocyanin, I have to assume it isn’t — then it can simply be expelled as a waste product, which led me to my breakthrough: skin is a major source for releasing waste products. (That’s why garlic makes you smell.)

So with this happy decision under my back, I came up with quite a few consequences and notes on what that process might look like.

Bruises start very faint green, for reasons I’ll address in a bit. Almost like a soft flush. They grow brighter blue over time, and then fade away slowly (although the brightness of the blue doesn’t decrease) over time.

I’m also toying with the idea of forming a sort of “plaque” that eventually surfaces, similar to a human scab. I like this idea because it gives a suggestion of the shedding invertebrates have, but it might not be practical. It might be that Vulcans’ genetic ancestors (i.e., not ancient Vulcans, but the species leading up, like Homo erectus for humans) consumed these to regain the lost copper.

This is an itchy process, because it’s an irritant/foreign body under the skin.

I went with oxygenated hemocyanin because the alternative is a colorless bruise, and ultimately, that’s not fun for writers. After all, I started this whole process because I got tired of Spock always having green bruises, with no nods to the healing process that results in rainbows on humans.

To expand on “brighter” blue, I’m imagining an initial dark, purple-ish color, that grows into the bright blue of, say, hermit crab blood. I know skin and light diffraction play a part in what color blood appears, but I’m going to be honest, I don’t care enough to figure it out.

The color also narrows to a smaller and smaller spot, which impacts the appearance of it growing more vivid/opaque as time passes. This is not necessarily correlated with the site of injury.

Now, I’ve already established that there must be other elements in Vulcan blood to give it the green color, and I specifically didn’t want those to go through the same process as hemocyanin. That would be fluid, and desert animals generally take conserving fluid to an extreme.

As far as that goes, I’ve more or less decided to have the yellow blood serum contain other necessary blood parts. For Spock in particular, this includes a human immune system. I do have a few specific thoughts on how this impacts his healing process, but mostly they can be summarized as “lower risk for clots and abscesses, higher risk for infections going septic and serious blood loss.” I won’t be making those specific points because the impression we get is that Spock’s biology is mostly Vulcan.

Because of the fluid conservation, I imagine there’s some edema (swelling from fluid). How diffuse this is depends on the injury, but I don’t imagine it being very severe. More notable and long lasting than in humans, but nothing dramatic.

While the blue concentrates over time, yellow spreads. There’s a limit, but healing blood vessels requires some space.

Because a Vulcan immune system involves a lot of clotting, there is a risk of several things going wrong. More seriously, a blood clot could block off a vessel, causing tissue death. This is rare, and the more severe the bruising, the more likely it is to happen. More bacteria also increases this risk.

If bacteria enters the system near or through the wound, there’s a not insignificant chance of an abscess forming. Again, Vulcan immune systems operate primarily on a “cover the bacteria(/virus/etc) so it can’t do anything” principle, and walling off an area to keep an infection contained is part of that.

A bruise very close to the surface, and/or with lacerations (think: hitting concrete or gravel, where a bruise would form but there would also be superficial lacerations in the skin) may ooze slightly, as the fluid can’t be contained and/or may be contaminated. This can cause confusion for doctors, because bruising is a dry process for people.

Extreme bruising can put stress on nearby joints. Vulcans manufacture hemocyanin in their connective tissue, and right now I have joints as bearing the brunt of that.

This is responsible for the initial green, as the hemocyanin has not been separated from the serum.

So…while I do intend to do a bit more digging to see if I can find better grounding, I think for now this is a very workable model of bruise healing in Vulcans.
