“We keep living anyway. We rise and we fall and we break and we make our mistakes.” – for Vilkas, from Aela.
regret was easier in theory, rising above was easier in theory. the unfortunate thing about theory is that it often left vilkas' brain simmering with too many ' what if's. how he could have done things differently, what would have been the better scenario by the end of it. outwardly he could stand by his decisions quite stubbornly, but internally...? well, things got a bit more complicated.
perhaps he hadn't been careful enough with his allusions to regret, his questioning of the twisting paths that had led them this far. as the years passed, he could not help but wonder how they would be remembered. what sort of light would be shone upon them when they died. would they be remembered as heroes or beasts? how long before someone saw them as they were, saw beyond the narrative they didn't write.
vilkas' shoulders drop as he sinks into his chair, meeting aela's gaze from across the table. they had spent most of the night nestled in the corner of some unremarkable tavern, drinking unremarkable ale. it hardly held a flame to the drinks back home, but it did the job while they were passing through this forgettable town. ( he would be glad when they got back on the road, he thinks. )
" You're right, I suppose. Mistakes make man, " though he doesn't seem entirely convinced, his brow is still knotted together in thought. His voice drops & he leans a bit closer. maybe he ought to hold his tongue, but it was a night for sentiment, wasn't it? " But sometimes I feel like the rules are different for us. Our mistakes aren't just ours, they aren't always so individual. "
it was difficult to trade his sentiments with others, but it was always a bit easier when it was someone who may understand. stubborn as she was, aela was not without reason. their conversation had taken many twists & turns, skipping past the perceived mistakes that he usually couldn't pay attention to. his mouth feels too dry & so he sips at his drink, letting her words settle in the space between them. they should be comforting & they almost are, but vilkas' mind is not so quick to rest.

beyblade metal fight headcanons i came up with 3 AM
Ryuga is a boomer. I have no logical reasoning for this, he just is. Kenta made fun of him a sum total of one time and he somehow has lived to tell the tale.
Outside of Beyblade, Gingka and Kyoya actually consider each other best friends. They overexaggerate their rivalry because they're both nerds but off the stadium they go to McDonalds and make fun of each other. How else do you explain that secret fist bump when Kyoya went to go fight Ryuga, like,,,,you're telling me they AREN'T friends???
Kenta has subconsciously been influenced by Ryuga's snark. He's mostly the same with his energetic, supportive self but piss him off and you will have a very Ryuga-esque remark about how you're an ugly basement dweller. Gingka is confused, Benkei and Madoka are scared but Kyoya thinks it's absolutely hilarious.
Madoka might not be a blader but she took martial arts as a kid so she could literally just beat the shit out of someone messing with her. Like some Beyblade gang could try and mug her and they'd go "lET iT RIp" and then she just steps on their beys and kicks their asses, unfazed. She could have KILLED Rago but she didn't want to steal Gingka's thunder.
The Legendary Bladers have a group chat after the whole nemesis fiasco to keep in touch (Ryuga lives AU). Dynamis is a boomer, Aguma and Ryuga leave everyone on read (except in Ryuga's case, he's also a boomer and doesn't know how to text so he just doesn't), Kenta's too busy to text bc he's teaching Ryuga how to use a phone, Kyoya's being extra as always and trying to start a fight, Gingka sends outdated 2017 memes, King sends cultured memes, Chris is regretting sharing his number to these dorks, everyone is trying their hardest not to cuss because Tithi is right there and Yuki is just staring at his phone like, "this is fine 😀"
During their travels Kenta couldn't help but ramble about a variety of different things about himself and his life and while he thought he was talking to a wall with how Ryuga was seemingly ignoring him, the dragon emperor listened to every word but would rather choke than admit that to ANYONE. Kenta included.
The Dark Nebula stole Ryuga from his real family before indoctrinating him to be the strongest Blader. Ryuto and Ryuga are unaware of each other's existence.
After the whole Fausttm incident, because Toby kept his white hair Masamune and Zeo made a lot of grandpa jokes at his expense (not to hurt him ofc but to just make Toby feel normal about it and that no one's too uncomfortable to joke about it). Toby takes it in stride and even plays along. ("Oh my god Toby, hurry up old hag!" "How DARE you treat your senior citizens this way? You youngens have it too easy nowadays!")
Kyoya needed glasses this whole time but because his ass is all like "Ugh I dont NEED glasses. My vision is perfect you DICKS." he never got them. Madoka and Gingka noticed one day and took him to an optometrist and beat some sense into him. "how the fuck are you gonna Beyblade if you can't even SEE where Leone is you dumb bitch" so he relents. He tries to ask for contacts but by an unfortunate stroke of bad luck, he's apparently very VERY sensitive to them so glasses are the only option. To look cool he does that thing where he holds them in his mouth but no one buys it and calls him out for being a huge dork.
Kyoya doesn't LIKE kids but unfortunately he is a child magnet. def supported by his "i'm destined to be followed by brats forever" comment. but he does end up warming up to Tithi even after the whole "Yo-Yo" thing. He made a crayon drawing of Kyoya and he pretended to hate it, but actually has it framed.
Reiji quits Beyblade for a bit, realising that he just can't find enjoyment in it without associating victory to his worth, but does end up coming back after Kenta convinces him that it can be fun and there is a lot more to it than just winning.
Nile and Masamune are best friends even more so than Nile and Kyoya idc i said so. I personally believe this because sometimes similar personalities don't necessarily make you closer to another person. Don't get me wrong Kyoya and Nile are still very VERY good friends but if Nile had to choose someone to go like idk ice skating with it'd be Masamune. Nile is calm, cool, collected while Masamune is an extra bitch. They both bring something out of each other that no one else can.
The fortune teller jokes Kyoya makes towards Dynamis never stops and one day this man has enough and is like "You know fucking what let me read your palm" and Kyoya's like "lmfao bet" and Dynamis inspects it thoroughly, he furrows his eyebrows and then looks up with Kyoya with intense seriousness and says, "Your destiny is sealed, my friend. You're going to die a very painful (and embarrassing) death soon." Kyoya, poor guy, stares at him with shock and is all like "STFU URE MESSING WITH ME" Dynamis just shrugs and walks off saying, "Let's just say, look both ways before crossing the road in future." and Kyoya, with the logic that Dynamis has predicted the future before, believes it whole heartedly and is freaking the fuck out. Kyoya now is adamant on always looking both ways before crossing the street now. every time Benkei is like "Bro there aren't any cars we can just go" Kyoya looks at Benkei like he just insulted his grandma and goes "NO. ROAD SAFETY LAWS ARE THERE FOR A REASON. I NOW KNOW THIS."
Mei Mei and Chao Xin are literally dumb and dumber best relationship in this show hands down. Like they're both so STUPID i love them so so so much.
Benkei and Gingka are Swifties. I have no explanation for this. I just know they are.
Aguma is actually a really goofy guy if you're really close to him. Bao just always knew Aguma was just a dork which is why he's never afraid of him.
Gingka gave Kyoya a lion plush as a gag birthday gift but jokes on him bc Kyoya actually loved it LMFAO. Now they have this unspoken tradition of giving each other gag birthday gifts bc these dumbasses just really like messing with each other.
Shoutout to the ten people still in this fandom and enjoy this meal <3

Let’s analyze the preview of episode 15 a bit. Take most of what I will say with a grain of salt. If it was that simple to predict things, there wouldn’t exist plot twists in a kdrama of this genre. Most of it is my wishful thinking bc I’m Yohan biased. He could turn out to be completely evil even if I don’t see it and I’ll have to accept my fate.
Here’s the synopsis: “with Gaon's revelation, Jookchang's trial is postponed. Although he believes he is doing the right thing, for some reasons there's something bothering Gaon's mind. On the other hand, Yohan who is again hurt by someone he's come to believe, is now acting unlike his usual self. On another hand, after the postponement of Jookchang's trial, the directors of the Foundation move forward & even start to plan to get rid of Seonah... Will Seonah be able to win in this lonely fight against the Foundation Directors?”
This will be in the start of the episode after the failed trial:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part will probably be in the middle or end of the episode, look at Gaon’s clothes. It’s daytime and he’s well kept. He got a tip from Jungho and encountered or not Sunah or she was just talking with a different person. Jungho is so sus and annoying. Why he had Soohyun’s notes? And why was Soohyun all smiles when meeting Gaon next to Yohan if she really found something bad about Yohan and wanted to tell Gaon before dying?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gaon will see the Joseph guy or Jukchang. Then someone will die (my guess is Joseph? Idk, seems like a young man), Gaon tries to make a call before or after finding the body, I think before bc he looks okay and he’s not crying yet but he’s still in the same red lights, he will think he “saw it clearly” (more like judging things on what you see again, love) and blame Yohan for whatever reason he got manipulated into believing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He will contemplate killing Yohan that same day after everything happens and having the audacity to do it while still staying in Yohan’s house or having the free will to come and go as he pleases. After trying to betray him, Yohan is too effing fond of this boy for allowing him to get away with that. It needs a limit in this situation, your hubby isn’t that sane at the moment nor completely on your side. Gaon is using the same clothes, but a little more disheveled, there’s still light outside (or its night but there’s a light outside the window):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yohan holds the knife in his hand like Soohyun (the symbolism, yes we know Yohan is Gaon’s new and true love), we can see more than five fingers on it. He was calmly reading a book when he stopped Gaon’s attempt of murder. Gaon didn’t do it with the man that was worse than Yohan responsible for killing his parents and many other awful things until the very end without regretting it, but as soon as Soohyun is gone and there’s a “plausible” reason to kill Yohan, he goes for it? Kill the murderer electrocuted? I mean, it’s too radical on national TV where kids can watch too. But his reasoning was “Nah, Soohyun would hate that, but if it’s me killing Yohan, it’s okay. She would love it bc she didn’t like her love rival anyways”. Why are they like this? They only want to follow the law and do what is right if it’s for their own advantage. I hate hypocrisy. I love you son, but get your facts and logic straight.
Yohan says Gaon would regret it for the rest of his life. He broke their promise of never attacking Yohan again, on top of betraying him. Like Judas after betraying Jesus and having him killed:
Tumblr media
Then Yohan’s quiet demeanor is gone and he shouts about Gaon meeting Joseph. I’m leaning towards my theory that Joseph is the key for Yohan to win his revenge and prove publicily at the right time what really happened at that fire, he was trying to keep Joseph safe and hidden, but bc of Gaon and Soohyun’s meddling, other people found out about him (the president, Sunah, Jungho to name a few) and it could have lead to Joseph getting killed. Let me guess, Gaon calmed down a little and told (more like accused after assuming) Yohan about it only after acting on impulse and the mess was already made (same old sh*t but a different day. Like when Gaon thought Yohan was the one that attacked Soohyun and Yohan warned him to never let it happen again, tsk tsk). So that’s Yohan losing his only hope (for now) of solving all this:
Tumblr media
I might be completely wrong as I have been before or not. Let’s see. I don’t want to analyze much or expect anything from now on, I’ll just go with the flow, I’m accepting any crumbles thrown my way.
It’s so crazy how Yohan was ready to fight the world, risk everything and do anything as long as he had Gaon and Elijah, he trusted Gaon and let him in, enough to put him in the same place of importance as Elijah. But Gaon is so far from doing the same after all the development their relationship seemed to be having. All it took was some manipulation for Gaon to change so drastically. He should value the people he still has in his life that love him, instead of pushing them away and hurting them like that.
But I can put myself in his place and understand just a little bit. It’s easy for me to say bc I’m a third person watching everything, even what they don’t see. So I can’t hate Gaon or put the full blame on him. I think I never will unless he actually ended up killing Yohan with his foolishness. I’m still on the team lawful family and want to see the three of them alive and happy. I have faith in you Gaon, you’re our only and final hope. You can give or take it away from us.

💫 FAKE PRETEND RELATIONSHIP BC THEY'RE IDIOTS IN LOVE AND I ADORE THEM A LOT 😭😭
COMING RIGHT UP, QUEEN.
***
Kaz is going to regret this.
He walks into the ballroom with Inej’s gloved hand resting in the crook of his elbow, his crow’s head cane replaced with a standard one that would draw less attention.
Get past security. Break into the servant’s quarters. Have Inej scale the servant’s elevator shaft up to Druiminn’s office while Kaz lets the others in through the window. Nina and Matthias would create a diversion to distract the guards, allowing Inej to escape. Wylan and Jesper would be waiting to drive them away in a valet carriage outside.
They just had to get past security. Together. While pretending to be a giddy couple madly in love.
Inej had been opposed to the idea initially. But her desire to find information on Druiminn’s trafficking operations had won out against her pride. Or maybe it was her disgust. He couldn't tell these days.
“No.”
“I don’t recall asking for an opinion,” Kaz responded, not looking up from the layout of the mansion.
“I’m not giving an opinion. I’m telling you no.” He ran a gloved hand over his face. Only Inej could get away with such a statement, and she damn well knew it.
“It’s the only way we’re going to get past security to let the others in.”
“Then send Matthias and Nina.”
“Last I checked, neither of them can scale an elevator shaft or pick a lock in under 60 seconds. Think logically, Inej.”
“I am thinking logically,” she retorted. “And logically, we won’t be successful if we use this ruse.”
He studied her then — the set to her jaw, the way her hands sat stubbornly on her hips, the fire dancing behind her eyes. She’d been an entirely new person since she began her hunt for the traffickers that plagued The True Sea. He missed his Wraith more than he was willing to admit, but there was something equally captivating about the woman she’d become.
Kaz pushed aside the harsh whisper in the back of his mind reminding him that she was clearly better off without him in her life.
“Do you have so little faith in your ability to pretend to love a demon like me?” he said quietly, standing up and crossing the room so that they were only a breath apart.
He expected her to scoff at him, or perhaps fire back a sarcastic response about his own acting abilities.
But she surprised him instead when she reached a hand out to rest against his chest. He closed his eyes at the contact. There was the fabric of his vest between her skin and his own, but he could feel her warmth seep through to his very core. He yearned for it to consume him.
“I’m more concerned with my ability to pretend not to once the ruse is over.”
He sucked in a breath at the boldness in her admission. But when he opened his eyes, she was gone. Out the window as if carried by the wind.
In the end, she’d agreed and Kaz had felt vindicated.
But now that she stands beside him — dressed in a deep green silk dress that covers the daggers he knows are strapped to her thigh, her long hair flowing uncharacteristically free behind her, he’s beginning to think she was right.
The first hour of the evening goes off without a hitch. They make idle small talk with other partygoers and dance when the band plays
He holds her hand more than is strictly necessary, equally grateful and despising of her elbow-length silk gloves and his black leather ones. Over the past months, his desire to feel her skin against his has started to encroach on his repulsion of being touched. He’s awoken in the middle of the night, images of her lips against his cheek, his hand at her back lingering in his mind.
Kaz tries his best to push those thoughts from his mind as they make their way to the side of the ballroom. He has a job to do, a mission to complete. His unrealistic fantasies would have to wait for his dreams.
Even if he could have Inej, she deserves much better than the bastard of the barrel. She may have changed, but he has not. Not enough. Never enough.
In his distracted state, he doesn’t register the guards headed for them. But Inej does. She pulls him quickly around the corner, pushing him against the wall. The move itself is so surprising, his body doesn’t even react to her nearness.
“You wanted this to be the ruse, so now it’s time to put it to the test. Kiss me, Kaz Brekker.”
“What in Saint’s name—” But he’s cut off with her hands on his lapels and pulling him down to her. Her lips touch his, and sensation explodes like one of Wylan’s demolition sticks beneath his skin.
He expects to feel that familiar overwhelming need to pull away. He expects a wave of nausea to consume him at the contact. But instead, he feels an inextricable want to draw her closer. He wants to hold her against him. He wants to never let her go. He wants. He wants. He wants.
One of his arms wraps around her while one of his gloved hands cups her cheek, his cane forgotten as it clatters to the floor. He has half a mind to spin so that he can press even closer. But before he can move, a harsh cough sounds nearby.
Inej pulls away, an uncharacteristically ditzy smile plastered on her face. “So sorry, officers,” she croons. “Just got carried away with the music and the wine.” Woman must have been taking lessons from Nina in her spare time.
“Back to the main ballroom, both of you,” the guard cautions, pointing back around the corner to the crowd. She nods quickly, and both men continue on their patrol as if they’d never seen the two of them.
Kaz is stunned silent the entire exchange, eyes wide and fixated on Inej. Their exchange seems to not have phased her, and she smoothes out his lapels and picks up his cane.
“If only I had known how easy it was to shut you up,” she comments, a smirk pulling up one corner of her mouth. Her tease riles him into action, and he straightens himself. His hand reaches out to grab her arm as she passes in the opposite direction from the guard’s instruction.
“Inej...”
“Without armor, Kaz Brekker,” she says, her silk-clad hand tapping his own. “Until then, we have a job to do.”
She walks away in the opposite direction from the guard’s instruction, and he’s left standing there wondering when he’ll finally muster the courage to stop letting her go.

WAIT on the subject of terrifying BSD characters, Tanizaki?? I don't really dig his character bc of the,, y'know... But as a yandere?? He'd use his ability to let you believe you were escaping, and then laugh in your face when he shuts it off and you realize you're still in the same room. If you're misbehaving, he'll just show you exactly how it would look if you ever went too far and he had to kill your loved ones. Isn't he so kind to show you these simulations instead of doing it irl, though?
I honestly really love him, if only because how aggressive he would be with his Darling. Not rough or anything like that, just really, *really* intense.
TW: Graphic Violence, Emotional Manipulation, Mentions of Isolation.
You’d almost forgotten how realistic Tanizaki’s ability could feel.
Logically, you knew you were still in the same bedroom you’d been in a moment ago. You knew you were still on the same bed, sitting in the same manic’s lap and surrounded by the same four, grey walls you’d learned to hate a little more with every passing second. But, things like rationality and reality didn’t stop you from shutting your eyes, trying to block out the smell of metal and blood you knew you were imagining, or the sight of poor, poor Naomi from burning itself into your retinas.
Of what Tanizaki knew he could do to her, if he ever felt like he had to.
He might’ve caught on, because soon, there was a hand cupping your cheek, stroking your skin lightly and clamping down when you attempted to lean away. You tried to keep your eyes shut, to regulate your breathing and calm yourself down, but all Tanizaki had to do was laugh, and you were just as terrified as you had been when he initially ‘confessed’.
“C’mon, sweetheart, you’re not even gonna look?” The words were more of a purr than a question, his mock-disappointment quickly fading into his poorly-masked satisfaction. Again, he squeezed your chin, a gesture that would be playful, if he was trying to show you anything else. You could feel him shift, his grip growing a little looser. He was concentrating on something besides you. Perfecting his illusion. “I worked so hard, (Y/n). Do you know how long these things take?” He paused, just long enough to lean against your back. “Especially when I’m projecting over an entire room, like this.”
You sighed, forcing yourself to relax. but still keeping your eyes thoroughly shut. It might’ve just been your imagination, but you swore something brushed past your ankle, warm and wet and fleshy. You could swear that his ability was purely visual, but either way, you pushed yourself into him. Tanizaki didn’t seem to mind, kissing the top of your head as you slotted yourself against him. “Juni, I don’t… I’m not sure what this is about, but-”
“I could do it, you know.”
His tone surprised you more than the interruption, how serious he’d gotten without the slightest hint of adjustment. His arm was digging into your stomach, now, but you couldn’t tell whether or not he was trying to hurt you. Out of curiosity, you looked back towards him, regretting it as you saw him looking past you, staring over your shoulder. Part of you was tempted to follow his gaze, to see what act of cruelty he seemed to find so… horrific, but you knew better, by now.
Or, you should’ve known better, rather.
It was supposed to be a glance, something brief to sate your need for closure before you went back to hoping beyond hope he’s just let it go, but once your eyes landed on the gory mess of viscera and limbs and blood on the floor, red staining the walls, the ground, everything it could plausibly reach. It wouldn’t have been too horrific, not if you could just right it off as one of the nameless ‘cases’ he’d tell you about, but the stands of tangled, messy, black hair and those bright, bright grey eyes, still blinking and staring and alive made it impossible to deny he hadn’t had anyone specific in mind. You tried to tear your gaze away from her, from Naomi, but…
Then she twitched.
And you didn’t look away.
“She trusts me, thinks she’s still the most important person in my life.” There was another low chuckle, another kiss, this one a little closer to your cheek. You didn’t move, breathing alone beginning to seem alien. “You wouldn’t want to break my sister’s heart, would you?” This time, he tilted your face towards him, pecking your lips so softly, you hardly felt it. “And you wouldn’t want me to tear it out, either, right?”
Your voice was barely audible, a little too distant and far too weak. “Please don’t.”
He nodded, the blood suddenly dissolving, everything in the room growing brighter as you collapsed against Tanizaki. You knew she was gone, that she’d never existed in the first place, but you didn’t dare look, twisting around to bury your face in his shirt, only melting into him more as he wrapped his arms around you, the affection so much more welcome than it had been a few seconds ago. He let you choke down your sobs in a peace, Tanizaki only breaking the silence once you attempt to pry yourself away from him.
“So…” He began, the widest smile you’d seen in weeks soon pressing against your forehead. “When we go into the agency tomorrow, and everyone asks why you’ve been gone for so long, what’re you going to say?”
You shook your head, weakly, already wondering why you ever thought it would be a good idea to ask to go outside. “Nothing. I won’t say anything, please, just don’t hurt anyone.”
A hand raked through your hair, but his gentle praises fell on deaf ears. You couldn’t think coherently, apologies and accusations mixing together and blurring into something incomprehensible.
All you managed to do was wonder how you were going to meet Naomi’s eyes... if you ever saw her again, at least.

vampire au post
4 skype convos haphazardly mixed in from very different times
[29/11/2014 4:27:51 AM] Probably Not Assorted Cheeses: Vampire au
Lucas the incompetent vampire who eats mostly animals
Duster was the one who bit him, only bc duster was literally starving n lucas came at a bad time
idk if duster should be born a vampire or not but Wes is one too and together they taught lucas how to survive.
however eventually they had to leave, they offered for lucas to join them but lucas can’t leave his family behind, the kid’s too sentimental :’(
so together they staged his death (which im too lazy to try n think of)
claus knew bout the vampire thing tho, lucas couldn’t live alone like that. He also ended up biting Boney in an accident so hey vampire dog.
claus grew up and eventually had his own family. Lucas could only really watch from afar but then the kids got his age and it was hard to see him and keep the gig up. He visited his parents funeral anonymously and afterwards him and claus stood there just
“sup” “how’re the kids” “twice your age and with kids of their own” “heh, i always thought you would be the one with kids yano?”
it was very bittersweet, it felt like they’ve never been apart
“it never stops feeling strange without you” "I know”
lucas thinks of that conversation a lot
he started off the "younger uncle" then the "weird neighbourhood kid that visits grandpa claus" and inevitably the "weird kid from nowhere who goes to the cemetary every other month to put flowers on graves older than appears to be"
SO without attachments lucas traveled with boney, hoping that they find duster along the way.
eventually lucas comes back to tazmilly but it’s been a couple hundred years now and it’s completely different so he doesn’t recognize it
n lucas one day is caught outside with no shelter, it’s almost morning so he runs into osohe (which is way outta town so he assumed it was abandoned)
vampires can’t enter homes without being invited in because apparently homes are holy land but osohe is fuckn haunted so that doesn’t apply (adding on to the abandoned theory)
that’s how kumatora and him meet, she finds him exploring osohe all “wtf the fuck who are YOU...this me house”
So she gets an awkward lie explanation from lucas
n she eventually catches on lucas is a vampire n is just DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE I NEVER MET A VAMPIRE BEFORE FUCKN SWEET
lucas is just UM.;;; IS IT OK IF I STAY
"oh dude it's cool!! but u gotta tell me bout yourself bc i never met a vampire before ok?? i live iN THE PERFECT GOTHIC HOME BUT THERE’S NONE!! but here you are and i’m JACKED i gotta go to work tho so brb but afterwards u gotta tell me about yourself ok CYA"
lucas is still processing everything by the time she leaves, but he’s grateful and figures a conversation is the least he can do to repay her
in this au kumatora’s into cryptology bc her house is FULL of books and it’s a common subject (also the fact her castle is filled with ghosts and there are zombies just across the moat, it’s a p convenient hobby)
when she comes back she’s super excited because he’s still there
lucas is kinda reserved but he still answers questions bc it’s POLITE
she asks bout p much everything?? “HEY do you need that” “y-yes” “is this true?” “not that i know of” “ok experiment time” “uH;;” “wait am i keeping you up?? it’s still daytime” “no it’s okay”
after exhausting lucas of all his Vampire Facts kuma invites lucas to live at osohe castle, it’s big enough anyways
lucas is wary af bc he doesn't wanna accidentally get close to someone who 1. has a life span and 2. is technically food
but lucas ends up sticking around anyways, boney really likes it and he lowkey enjoys her company
so they keep chillin n lucas tells her how he hunts animals n how he only takes a bit of blood so they don't die and
IDK I GO BY THE THEORY THAT VAMPIRES HAVE VENOM bc otherwise their entire food source becomes COMPETITION n they can bite but not?? TURN THEM INTO ANYTHIng so controlled blood flow for feeding purposes
also vampires only need to eat once or twice a month? they die around 6+ months without eating from starvation. It all depends on how quickly the blood cells in their body die basically.
ALSO when they bite you it doesn’t hurt bc their saliva numbs it so (sneaky bites) but it still feels weird as shit
bUT YA SO LUCAS N KUMATORA CHAt a whole bunch...you know that “accidentally get close” thing i mentioned? it happened
(it was kinda hard to avoid when the first companion you have that’s not your dog is informed on vampires and vampire goods, that was convenient)
so they keep hangin out and kumatora unlocks his Tragic Backstory
n sometimes kumatora helps him feed? like they go out together finding animals n storing blood
n lucas is fascinated with how technology has advanced bc he doesn't really?? go into towns anymore but he fuckn LOVES it
n they play video games n general COOL FUNTIMES
kumatora let’s lucas borrow her labtop to occupy himself and he looks for other vampires or hints of them
(this is under the assumption that osohe can get electricity in a modern au while still being ignored / abandoned)
n when kumatora goes to work he cleans up the castle n tries to show how much hE REALLY APPRECIATES HEr
n lIKE i also go by the logic that vampires do not do the stereotypical “turn into ashes at sunlight” it is a slow progression that takes up to 12 hours until absolutely turned to a crisp
so basically if he covers himself and wears a shit ton of sunscreen he can chill in the middle of the day for like...a hour or two
and bc kumatora's WORTH IT he visits her at work n she's all LucAS WHAT ARe yO U DoING??
lookin like a modern goth kid......has a huge red burn on his cheek..
he blames it on how pale/blonde he is “my brother is ginger you know”
kuma gets super worried n he's all bruh it cool i have like..2 more hours until i need to go to a hospital
n kumas jsuT I GET OFF IN 4 HOURS GO HOME
kumatora invites him to movie nights with her friends n shit
people start calling lucas kumatora's goth boyfriend “never call him that when he's around or i'll murder you”
theyre all rather cool with lucas and find his speech kinda funny?
"wow look at those teeny boppers" "GET A LOAD OF THIS GUY GOD I LOVE IT" “???????????????" kumas friends ask for lucas more all WHAT SCHOOL DOES HE GO TO WHERE DOES HE LIVE "oh he's......foreign B)"
eventually it comes up how lucas doesn’t really want to be a vampire anymore and kumatoras just “dude i can help you find a cure” bc maybe her hobby is a bit Excessive but live your dreams
but ya lucas is just?? constantly wants to visit kumatora n loves her night shifts!! visits all the time they go on hikes a lot n jusT? GETS SO FUCKIGN ATTACHED IT SCARES HIM CONSTANTLY
they sometimes fall asleep on the couch together n when he's all "wow shes so cute.." he realizes how fucking Deep he’s in this and he’s FUCKED
he tries to distance himself but he Can’t Fucking Do It (just like w/ his fam)
whenever he tries to push her away she looks so upset it kills him
N HE'S IN SUCH A STRUGGLE BC HE'S JUST
SO HAPPY TO BE AROUND HER??????
N LIKE WHEN THEY CUDDLE N STUFF HE'S JUST SO OVERWHELMED BC oh my god heartbeats!! oh my god she's gonna die before me
n lucas really fucking feels the severity of how FUCKED he is when its her birthday n hes just
yes she's gonna age and he's gonna outlive her n they could never realistically be happy even if by some offhand chance she even RETURNS the feelings
N HE HAS TO HIDE HIS CRYING N STUFF BUT KUMATORA HAS  A 6TH FUCKN SENSE FOR DISTRESSED LUCAS SO SHE'S ALL bruh :( whats up
so he opens up to her about his feelings and anxiety and she hugs him through it, it’s kind of a shitty way to confess
“idk if i can forgive you for deciding that i’m gonna die before you” “are you threatening murder” “that and no way death’s gonna get me, i’m pretty stubborn”
a lil while passes
“you know... i’m okay with becoming a vampire” lucas refuses bc dude.. you can’t even comprehend the weight of immortality.. what if she regrets it
“to hell if i make my closest friend suffer because of a life span” “hah i guess that’s the same for me”
they drop the vampire topic for the time being and move on to other ones such as... mutual feelings :^)
they’re both romantically inclined i mean... lucas spent 300+ years being a hermit and kumatora had other things to do
so they take it slow, it’s p much the same as before except.. hey...now when i think “man i wanna hold their hand” i CAN
it'd also be really sad and/or cute if the ghosts in the castle some of them were lucas's family which might be why boney likes it so much but also imagine them kissin on the couch "kuma ghosts r there" "EH THEYRE JUst ghosts" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) claus looks into the camera "after so long... finally my little brother gets some action :')"
but idk if that’s a thing bc it feels kinda weird i feel like kissin n shit wouldn't b very often bc as much as they both loVE IT
IT'S NOT THAT GREAT FOR A VAMPIRE
YANO.... HEARTS R BEATING... NECK IS RIGHT THERE (lucas still adores it tho)
so back to the topic of Mortality
kuma gets attacked in an alley on the way home from work
n lucas finds her bc they were gonna meet up but he smelt the blood and when he does find her he just goes FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK n didn't know how to save her
also thinking rationally is hard when OH LOOK AT ALL THAT BLOOD AHhaHA
SO HE BITES HER
he carries her body home n he spends the whole waiting process between DEAD and VAMPIRE crying just "hoyl shti please work please work" “what did i fucking dooooo” “what if i was earlier” “what if i was too late” so many anxieties
kuma wakes up and lucas transistions from panic to HAPPY PANIC OH THANK GOD
she’s really out of it bc of the process and he’s crying apologies “it’s okay you saved me” but he’s still crying, they cuddle for comfort
"hey atleast we did it NOW when i'm a hot sexy 19 yr old and not a wrinkly old lady” “kuma” “i’m tryna make light of the conversation”
so now that kumatora’s a vampire she only works night shifts until she eventually quits. They moved to a new town / whatever so it was easy to avoid having to meet someone in the daytime. facebook helped keep in touch with her friends while still letting the friendship die out.
it took kumatora a bit to get used to being a vampire. she threw up a lot at first and she didn’t like having to drink blood but she did eventually get used to it
idk if they find a cure bc idk what the cure would BE but they eventually find other vampires :^) they continued lucas’s search for duster and probably found him tbh

Lost Future AU
Hi welcome to part 4. Should i link the others? Yes.  MORE ANGST WHOOP (Hot tip: listen to “carry on my wayward son” by Facing West and imagine Keith turning his back on Lance for the afterlife yes i too am crying)
part 1 part 2 part 3
(EDIT): I fixed the font finally bc tumblr was being a bITCH --------------------------
“Hey Hunk, can I talk to you about something?” Keith asked.
Hunk’s head popped up from his shake, cocking his head to the side. “Of course. What’s up, bud?”
Keith looked down at his untouched drink, his hand tightening around the plastic. The diner they sat at was loud, rush hour for the corner food restaurant finally hitting at the stroke of 5. Keith ran into Hunk on his way from work, the other inviting them to dinner since Lance would not be home until later and knowing full well he hasn’t seen the boy in quite awhile. Hunk is usually with Pidge or Lance, and when Keith and him are able to hang out they jump at the chance. Before they got to know each other, Keith was reluctant in getting to know Pidge’s engineer partner, resistant towards any form of human bonding. But after several encounters with him and Lance, as well as dating his best friend, they warmed up to each other in dual time. They weren’t as close as Shiro and Keith, but they weren’t strangers either. And Keith found it nice to be around Hunk, who had a permanent aura of welcoming.
Which is what led him to agree to grab a shake with him. There was something that kept nagging at him for the past week, unable to talk to Lance about it because of the sensitive subject. Because, not too long ago Lance lost his grandmother, and Keith did not want to rip open the healing wound. Lance was barely getting back on his feet, Keith didn’t want to be the one to push him down again.
But he couldn’t keep it to himself. He had to tell someone. While logically he could confine in Shiro, Keith has been on the fence about it. But with Hunk, it was different. He couldn’t put a finger on it, but with Hunk he felt his request would be met with a calm demeanor than an overly concerned one (aka Shiro).
He just wanted a friend to confide in. Hunk is a pretty good option.
Without lifting his eyes, he twirled the straw in his chocolate shake around, mixing the whipped cream and losing the cherry that sat elegantly on top.
“If I ever suddenly die, will you make sure Lance is okay?”
Hunk, believing Keith had a less grim question, choked on his shake, the substance almost exiting out of his nose.
He looked at Keith incredulously. “What the--Keith, you’re not going to die. You’re 22!”
Keith’s jaw clenched, squeezing the cup further. “Yeah, I know.”
“If this is about Lance’s grandmother, Lance saw it coming. She was 86 years old, and while he is hurting he knew she was going to pass eventually. But this--”
“I’m young, I see that, Hunk.” Keith stated, his voice flat. “But my parents were in their late twenties when they died. Not all people live until a ripe old age.”
“Yeah, not all. But the odds are very different from the elderly.” Hunk’s brows furrowed. “You still have, what, 60 years on your side? I don’t see why you’re worrying about death now. Unless...” Hunk gasped, grabbing Keith’s wrist and pulling him close enough Keith can see his own reflection in his brown irises. “Oh no, Keith do you have a deadly disease? Cancer? Did you tell Shiro? Why haven’t you told Lance?”
Hunk ceased his babbling when Keith shook his head. “No, no my health is fine. There is no disease or cancer in my family besides insomnia.”
“Oh.” Hunk said, releasing Keith. He still stared at Keith, perplexed. “Then why are you telling me this?”
“Because while I want to believe I’ll live a long life, that isn’t always insured.” He reached inside his hoodie’s front pockets, extracting a thick envelope. “After seeing Lance deal with his grandmother’s death, I began thinking. What if something happened to me? What if I didn’t die of old age, but something else? What would I leave behind?”
Hunk gazed at him with sympathy, seeing his point but not wanting to put it out in the universe. When Keith pushed the envelope towards him, he didn’t take it. “I...see where the anxiety is coming from. But I don’t think it is necessary. Keith, I think you will live a long life. It’s not like we are in a middle of a war.” Hunk attempted to emphasize a joke, but it fell flat at the end. Keith gave him a small smile, not angry Hunk wanted to place faith in a positive future. And who was to say Keith is right? He has been wrong before, and for once he hopes Hunk’s resistance towards his epiphany meant his worries were for nothing.
But he can’t leave a stone unturned. So he continued.
“We aren’t, but just in case.” He slid the parchment closer to him. “Hunk, you’re one of Lance’s closest friends and one of the few people I let in. I know this is a lot to ask for, but there is no one else I can ask this from. Shiro is stressed enough, and knowing Pidge they would accidentally let it slip what is going on too early. I don’t want to worry Lance. Not when it is necessary. And who knows, maybe you’re right. Maybe I’m being paranoid. But I won’t take any chances. Not now.”
Hunk wanted to reach over and hug the guy. He seemed so...so sad. As if he just announced his death date. As if he is dying in the moment, unable to stop it and needing to release his last words. What’s worse is he won’t be able to really talk to Lance about it. Because despite him telling his love everything, despite wanting to inform him of this issue, both of them knew Lance wouldn’t take it well. He would be strong and reassure Keith, yes. But Hunk knew it would linger in the back of his mind just like Keith, whether something bad happened or not.
Why worry him over something that may not even happen?
“Is this because of what happened to your parents?” Hunk asked softly, hoping he wasn’t reopening old wounds. Keith’s eyes flash to Hunk, immediately on guard and set to strike.
“What?”
Hunk hesitates, but went on. “Your parents died in a fire when you were little. Is it because of that incident that you’re telling me this? Because you weren’t left with a last word?”
“I...” Keith struggled to find words. “I...uh...I...” He pushed away his now melted shake and combed his fingers through his hair, pulling at it and the furrow on his brow deepening.
Hunk regretted speaking. He placed a gentle hand on his arm, trying to dispel Keith’s shocked and unhinged thoughts. He never talked about his parents. Why would it be any different with Hunk? The poor boy is bordering on distraught.
“Keith,” Hunk said. “It’s okay. Breathe. Take your time.”
“I’m fine.” He grunted.
“Uh, no you’re not. I’m not dumb. I know when a friend is hurting.”
“I’m okay.”
Hunk crossed his arms and leaned back against the booth, settling Keith with an admonishing look for lying. Keith withered under it, his tough attitude nothing but a shield towards outsiders when it comes to his emotions. But Hunk is no regular outsider. Hunk is the empath; the mediator. The one most in tune with his and everyone else’s emotions, the slightest twitch of a muscle instantly alerting him of whether a person is experiencing positive or negative emotions.
“Okay, so you’re not wrong,” Keith mumbled. “I...didn’t think about it until you mentioned it. Which makes sense. Why I’m on edge. Why I’m doing this. One moment they were around, the next they weren’t. I was...left with so many questions.”
“And you don’t want Lance to be left without a word. You want him to have closure and move on.”
Keith nodded. “It is what I would have appreciated.”
“But you were ten. You didn’t want a letter, you wanted your parents back.”
“Still. As I got older, I wished they left...something. A letter. A will. a card. I don’t know. Anything that...um..” Keith began to lose his voice. He wasn’t one to be vulnerable in front of anyone. He has done that in very few moments--one being around Shiro. Heck, Lance and him are together and Lance himself says Keith had a bad habit of locking all his thoughts and emotions up until they burst. Him and Hunk may be friends, but he still struggled with the habit. Of letting people in.
Hunk is patient. He waited for Keith to go on, melting his stern eyes into smooth, shining chocolate. The waitress stopped by the ask if they wanted anything else, and Hunk knowing what Keith liked, ordered a plate of cheese fries.
“Lance probably is home now.” Keith commented.
“Tough. He can wait.” He flung a fry into his mouth when it arrived. “Serves him right for keeping you all to himself.”
“I’m really not that great.” He said mid-chew, a little quiet.
Hunk threw a fry at him. “Stop it. I see him all the time but seeing you is like waiting for a fish to do a trick. I deserve to spend time with his boyfriend platonically. I AM going to be best man at your guys’ wedding afterall.”
Keith inhaled his soupy shake all too fast as Hunk said that, it going down the wrong throat and was thrust into a coughing fit. What the fuck.
“We have been dating for a year!”
Hunk waved his finger around and clicked his tongue. “My good man, I know love when I see it. And you two aren’t separating anytime soon.”
“Y-you don’t know that!”
“I do. I better, or else Pidge wins the bet.”
“There is a bet!?”
“Between them, Shiro, and I yeah.” Hunk gave him an innocent smile, as if he were talking about the weather. Keith is tomato red, matching the sweatshirt he adorned and wished for a hole to swallow him up. Lance and he only talked about it once and it just resulted in Keith being a gay disaster.
“I’m going to murder my brother.”
“Go easy on him, he’s old.” Hunk joked.
“no shit.”
They laughed, the bleak atmosphere lifting for the moment. They gabbed away at other topics, the envelope not coming back until they were heading out the door, Hunk almost forgetting about it and Keith having to stop him before he drove away.
“You sure about this?” Hunk asked.
Keith pushed it in his hand as an answer. He nervously glanced around the parking lot, dusk drawing near, but his tone remaining steady.
“You were right. About my parents.” He started, the gravel becoming incredibly interesting. “I know Lance. With a big heart comes much bleeding if cut. Deep in my gut I know if I were to die prematurely and we still loved each other, he would take a huge blow.” He closed his eyes, his hands wrapping around his bag’s strap and head bending down. He is soft; a whisper amidst the raging wind, meant to be casted to the unknown if it weren’t for Hunk’s good hearing.
“I maybe wouldn’t have handled my parent’s death well even with a letter or will. I was a kid. I just wanted them back. Knowing Lance, he’d want me back. Though I wouldn’t be able to return to his side, I want to know I’d leave this earth with something for him to find. To grasp onto. To hear--or I guess read--how I want him to be my Lance and move on. Because that is the hardest thing someone can do when they are left behind without a goodbye. Without truly knowing what the deceased wanted for them.”
Hunk saw Keith’s eyes glisten, knocking him breathless. He held a waterfall at bay, refusing to let go of the ache and chose to maintain a soldier-like stance. But Hunk knew his armor, and it is not an effective protector against the heart.
“Please, Hunk. Don’t let him suffer like I did when my mother and father passed. Don’t let him chase after me. I want his light to stay lit. He has so much to live for, and the thought of his goofy, adorable smile twisting into a permanent wail kills me.”
Hunk gave in to his desires and pulled the boy to him, his big arms encompassing his smaller frame in a bear hug. He squeezed him close, the letter clutched in one hand and not forgotten, but a secondary issue compared to his friend’s distress. It may seem absurd, but to Hunk the future is scary. Anything can be scary, and a person’s fear of death is as valid as any other fear. He could not judge him. Could not tell him he is invalid in his logic, since he isn’t wrong. Neither of them knew what the future held, and though Hunk hoped the letter would gather dust and rot into pure pulp, there was also the possibility it would be torn open and stained with tears.
Keith did not cry that not. He didn’t fully grasp Hunk in a hug, his arms laid at his sides. But his fists were bundled up, nails digging into his palms as he leaned in.
His head fit on Hunk’s shoulders, and that is all the other boy needed to know Keith accepted (and needed) the embrace.
Keith never brought it up again after. Hunk did not breathe a word to Lance, Pidge, Allura, or Shiro.
It is a secret deal between friends. A promise for the worst case scenario, an insurance policy for their future being lost.
----------------------------------
Hunk stares at the letter.
It has remained in the very back of his desk drawer for years, completely forgotten to merry holidays, loud birthdays, and weekly meet-ups with the gang. It has attracted enough dust Hunk has to blow it away, the flakes falling to the ground like ash. Hunk almost forgot about it.
Almost.
It has been a week since Lance returned from the hospital. Since he found out about Keith’s demise, the ambulance five minutes too late. Five minutes behind. Five minutes that could have saved him if it weren’t for the snow.
Five. Fucking. Minutes.
They said one side of his body was demolished; his whole right side cracked and brittle. Lance said Keith tried to protect him from the impact, though he held no real control over the car hitting the semi. But he still threw his body against Lance, allowing the impact the break his ribs and punctured his lungs. The jostling of the car didn’t help, it harming the organs beyond repair. Lance came out with a couple of broken ribs, severe enough head trauma he has more migraines than usual, a broken leg, bruising and cuts everywhere from the glass, and a second engagement ring with no owner.
They said Lance should have been the one to die since a lot of damage was done to the driver’s side. But somehow--and the doctors don’t understand it nor believed Lance’s story--he came out with less fatal injuries than Keith.
While Lance should have ended up with a fractured or broken skull by hitting the steering wheel, his head only hit the back of the seat by Keith’s arms cradling him.
Hunk would have said Lance was crazy, but then again Keith was always one to act fast and think later.
Except now he is dead.
Now someone Hunk could deem as a best friend is gone, leaving him with a task that makes him want to jump in a time machine and prevent all of this from happening. To keep that letter in the back of his desk and continue gathering dust.
But now, after not hearing from Lance since his release, he has a job to do.
He didn’t leave the house without throwing his wedding gift at the wall, angry tears cascading down his face as the ceramic mugs with a bear on both surfaces holding a heart shattered.
Shay watches him go, noting how he hugged her far tighter than ever before.

Prompt: YUSSSS I AM HERE FOR MY AIZAWA pls do a scenario in which young!aizawa is taking his absolutely clueless-idk-what-dating-is-what-does-it-eat possibly future s/o on a date under some sort of pretext. And is like super cute bc is under the stars and they/she is cold and he like warm them and yusss k i s s ilu so much keep it up boo
Request: Stargazing Anon
Notes: I call this scenario ‘how many different ways can i refer to stars in one go’ plz enjoy ((also thank you nonnie im lobe also and i will!))
It was supposed to be a study session - at least, that’s what Aizawa had told them. But, sitting here now in the cab of the rusted out pickup the sleepy black-haired teen had borrowed for the occasion, arms pressed together from the smallness of the cab and nature surrounding the due with beauty unseen within city limits, studying was the last thing on their minds.
In complete honesty, studying had been the last thing on Aizawa’s mind from the start. When he’d called s/o up, asking if they’d help him study for their upcoming midterm, he had simply been using the most logical excuse he could think of. S/o was the oblivious type and Aizawa knew that if he had simply asked s/o to go out with him they’d not understanding the meaning. If he wanted to make his feelings known he’d need to show them.
Renting a pickup he insisted belonged to a relative, lest S/o know he’d put as much effort and thought into the situation as he had, Aizawa had driven them outside of the city, luring s/o with the claim that it was simply easier for him to focus without all of the constant, bustling noise of the city. Innocent and honest, S/o had believed their dark haired friend without question - bless them. It amazed and terrified Aizawa all at once to know that S/o was so naive, so gullible and trusting; more than anything though, it endeared him. He couldn’t for the life of him understand why - something that had bothered him for a long time. It was something he’d come to accept, though. Feelings were, perhaps, not always something to be understood as much as accepted.
“Ohh! Shouta, look at that star! It’s so pretty.” With dreamy eyes and a soft smile that made Aizawa’s heart-rate skyrocket S/o shifted so as to bump against his solid arm, drawing the boy’s attention from his thoughts and directing it skyward. The sky above them was a blanket of black, an empty face dappled with freckled stars, twinkling and shining farther than the eye could see. It was a sight neither of the teens got to see often, the city lights often jealousy blocking out the stars own glow.
“Mm.” Aizawa’s response was simple, short, but his thoughts were anything but. As beautiful as the sky was, alight with life in the form of twinkling light, the black haired boy couldn’t help but still fixate on S/o. No matter how beautiful the sight before him, they somehow managed to be more captivating to him. The thought was cheesy, and Aizawa found his lips pursing subtly. He never imagined anyone would have him thinking such silly things, pining as hard as he was. But yet there S/o was, with his entire being wrapped around their finger as the scarf around Aizawa’s neck - constantly, with complete control. Yet S/o had no idea what they did to him.
The longer the night went on the more sure Aizawa grew of his feelings. His love for S/o had never been clearer to him than they had been on that night and still, he had no idea how to make it clear to them. A simple confession wouldn’t do - Aizawa was terrified that even a blatant ‘I love you’ may not get through to S/o. If they responded in kind, only to mean it completely platonically, Aizawa wasn’t sure he’d be able to recover.
As if the stars themselves listening in, eavesdropping on his thoughts and pitying the poor teenager, the universe did Aizawa a kindness soon after. A doorway, a light at the end of the tunnel, opened and suddenly Aizawa had his chance.
Being as close as they were Aizawa could feel it when S/o began to shiver. Their smiling face and continued admiration of the dappled sky above them made it clear that they were pretending not to be cold, but their body language showed made it even clearer that they were starting to freeze. With their knees pulled to their chest and hands buried between them, jaw clenched to keep from shaking, their state was obvious.
“You should have dressed warmer.” Harsh as he sounded Aizawa’s words were those of concern. It had been warmer during the day, sure, but here outside of the city, late enough into the night for the sun to have faded, it was much colder. Blame S/o as he might, though Aizawa couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty; the fact that he was seeing an opportunity in this made him feel even worse.
“Here.” Removing his sweater, a simple black pullover hoodie that hid a shirt just as dark, Aizawa pushed the article onto S/o. Without leaving room for argument and completely ignoring any protest he pulled the sweater over S/o’s head, pulling it straight at the waist. The pale boy couldn’t help a hard gulp at the sight of them in his clothing. They looked… cuter than he’d anticipated.
Pausing for a moment, collecting his courage and subduing his panic, Aizawa leaned a little closer, throwing an arm around S/o’s shoulders and pulling them to his side. It was a bold move, he thought, but someone like S/o called for such action. He was more than willing to pull away if S/o wanted him to, arm around them loose despite how taut the nervously flexed muscle was.
“Sharing body heat is the best way to keep warm. It’s only logical.” Stairing straight ahead, all of his courage used up with none remaining to allow him to meet S/o’s eyes Aizawa desperately hoped that they couldn’t see the blush on his face. That… hadn’t been what he’d wanted to say. But confessing to them right then, with them so close and his heartbeat so loud in his ears felt almost impossible.
“Y-- um, you’re really warm.” S/o sounded shy? Uncomfortable? He hoped it wasn’t the latter. Though, they hadn’t made any move to pull away - something he was thankful for.
“It’s kinda nice.” Aizawa could feel their eyes on him, staring up from where their head pressed to his shoulder. He risked a glance down and regretted it immediately, turning his head away with a soft grunt. God they looked so good up close--
The next few moments passed in a silence that, for Aizawa, was simultaneously comfortable and so heart-pounding nerve wracking that he found it hard to breathe. Having S/o so close was nice in a way he couldn’t describe, though, and in that moment he wouldn’t have traded their touch for anything.
“Thanks for taking me out here Shouta.” S/o’s words came after what felt like a small, peaceful eternity, the smile in their voice making Aizawa’s shoulders relax a fraction. S/o was an open book to him; someone so innocent and sweet couldn’t hide much from eyes as insightful as his. They were being honest.
“Maybe we could do it again sometime…?” The request made Aizawa’s heartbeat spike again, the organ shooting into his throat. It was hard to tell what they meant by that. Were they speaking romantically? Platonically? Were they even sure themselves? It was a nerve wracking question, but still one Aizawa knew the answer to without hesitation.
“Of course.” Maybe next time he’d work up the nerve for a proper confession, too.

Reply for @minutia-r and @polar-night-scout, minu first bc i was drafting as scout appeared, this is a lot of scrolling sorry guys
MINU:
The thing I would take issue with is that Tuuri never ever says she shouldn't have gone.  She says that she thought it wouldn't happen, and one might infer that therefore if she had known it would happen she wouldn't have gone and now that it has happened she regrets going, but she never actually says that and I don't think that's the only possible way to understand what she says.  In fact, when she does say something on the subject (albeit before she knows for sure that she's infected) she says she doesn't regret going.  Not because she is still holding out hope that she isn't infected (although she is at that point) or because she considers the journey worth it even if she is infected, but just because it's in her nature and she couldn't have done otherwise.  So in that sense, yes, tragic hero, because her doom is inevitable and the only way she could have avoided it is to have been a different person.  But I don't think that it's necessarily an indictment of Tuuri's character traits?  Which you could describe as flaws, or even tragic flaws, but part of what makes Tuuri such a great character is that she has the flaws of her virtues and the virtues of her flaws.  The same traits that get her into trouble or cause her to harm others are the same ones that make her such a joy to be around and give her life direction and purpose.  And, in the end (if this is the end of Tuuri's story, which it might be, but it's also possible that it's not, one way or another) I think it's important that she lived and died on her own terms.  I don't even see her suicide in terms of giving up; it was an active step she took in order to avoid the fate of the voices she was beginning to hear.  It might have been an impulsive, emotion-fueled step rather than a rational and considered decision, but then, so many of Tuuri's choices always were.
I personally don’t know how the scene could initially be read in other ways, though I concede the earlier scene is in fact Tuuri stating pretty firmly she doesn’t regret going. The thing is, there’s really only a few ways to read Tuuri’s final words. My initial reading, where Tuuri is regretful, and blames herself (if only I had wised up in time - if only I wasn’t so naive -) or just a general ‘well, fuck, this is how the chips fell, my life wasn’t perfect but i got to live it’. Maybe even just bewilderment, because she’s still in shock over the Rash. In my view, I prefer my initial reading, maybe without the regret, but definitely Tuuri blaming her own worldview. This is because of very small details (Tuuri’s downturned head in the last panel, the way the swan swoops ominously, straight for her, and the fact that the narrative to this point is, well, I see this as an indictment of her virtues, but that’s something I’ll talk about in a sec.)
The thing is, killing a character is always killing their flaws AND virtues. I absolutely agree Tuuri was a vibrantly interesting character who had more than enough flaws that fed into her good points, because where she was ambitious she was overreaching, and where she was smart she would put down people. She is very flawed, and so interesting with it. Here, I’m moving away from in-text reasons why Tuuri has to die (she has the rash and she wants to die clean) and more towards how this works on a meta level. Because for me, personally, if this doesn’t work on a meta level, I can’t take the in-text reason as a good substitute. So yes: Tuuri died on her own terms, but it’s important to examine why it is that the author chose to make Tuuri die, not how she decided to portray it. Example: I understand that a lot of Game Of Thrones makes perfect logical/in-text sense, but a lot of it is so unsatisfying I don’t give a damn.
Killing a character kills what they stand for. In the case of Dumbledore, and a lot of Harry Potter’s parental figures, he dies because he symbolizes protection, wisdom, and a fallback Harry can always turn to. Harry needs to do shit on his own, so mentors need to die. Protection dies. To return to Game of Thrones, Ned Stark dies because he’s the last uncomplicated/nonambitious person of power left. He symbolized moderation, or at the very least, decency. In order for Game of Throne’s plot to proceed, and its worldview of everything sucks, he needs to go.
This isn’t to say that every single character death in all of media is a specific punishment for specific people. Death =/= this character is bad and dies because they’re bad. Those two examples above are examples of characters who die because they’re not bad, because the narrative needs it.
The reason why I say Tuuri’s death is an indictment of her character is because the reason she dies is explicitly tied to her character, by her own admission, and the contrast between her and the other characters (I will address this). Like you said, that exchange basically sums up that she would have gone anyway, because who she is is an explorer, and she’s not immune, and she couldn’t have done otherwise. The flaws of her personality (very emotion-driven thinking, doing things without telling anyone because she’s right all the time Isn’t She) gets her to the beach, but it is specifically the virtues of her personality (her curiosity and drive to explore) that land her on the mission, that put her at risk, that means that she will die and she does. So why does the narrative need Tuuri to die? What does her death serve? Her death is cheap as chips if it’s just to darken the tone of the comic or for shock value.
Remember that Tuuri is the only one enthused about exploring the outside world. Lalli doesn’t give a shit, Emil wants money and prestige, Mikkel is....there, Sigrun wanted a holiday and money, and Reynir as the only other non-immune who wanted to explore the outside world and is summarily backtracking on his worldview pretty much immediately, with no signs of stopping. Tuuri’s death? haha, good luck prying that kid out of Iceland. Tuuri’s death is the death of exploration and the death of curiosity, because god knows none of these other characters were supplying any of that, and the only character who did (Reynir) is actually explicitly blaming his worldview of curiosity and exploration for his current predicament.
This is why I am saying that this is an indictment of Tuuri’s character, and more broadly, that the message of the comic is one I don’t like, because it is broadly saying that it’s better to stay at home and take no risks. It’s an Icarus message, turned up to eleven. It’s trying not to be that, but the author is basically reinforcing that message through Tuuri and Reynir over and over again, and through the complete and utter disinterest the other characters have in anything that’s not money or fighting. This mission is supposed to be an official factfinding/exploration mission for the government as a cover, with illegal books on the side, and yet we have only seen the looting aspect. No one even seems particularly interested in the knowledge inside the books except for - you guessed it - Tuuri. Mikkel a little bit, for the cure, but Tuuri eclipses him in enthusiasm. Will Mikkel turn out to harbor the spirit of adventure? I don’t know, but at the moment it looks like he’s focused on surviving and only surviving, to the point where he just shuts down any negative thing Reynir says.
The comic is basically reinforcing ‘stay still stay silent’, and Tuuri embodies the exact opposite of that message. Her dying only fuels that.
So I acknowledge my reading of the comic was incomplete and I do appreciate that you’ve brought that to my attention, but I really do think that her death was a writing move that reinforces a message I find...unsatisfactory.
SCOUT:
I strongly disagree that the death of a character means the death of what they stood for. Look at V for Vendetta (the comic) for a work that explicitly states the opposite, though there are many others. Even in SSSS, Reynir is almost a clone of Tuuri's core intentions and personality (something that's bugged me for a while, but now I see the reason behind it) so it's not like the comic punishes all adventurousness and innocence.
Personally I think Tuuri died because we need a character in the afterlife for a solid reason (maybe explicitly a Finn/Hotakainen) so her death was necessary to advance the plot somehow, and not intended as shitting on her world view. It still sucks that she had to be "used" like that, I think her character had a lot more potential alive, but I'm not the one writing the comic. So I hate that she died but I read very different things into it than you do.
The thing is, I usually read that death thing because a lot of the times its how death as a tool is used in stories, but I agree - a lot of the time death can be a triumphant/noble thing. Sacrificing yourself for a cause carries a lot of weight, and immortalizes you. The entire point of Rogue One is that they give their lives over for hope, and that sacrifice enshrines their death in meaning, etc. If you die doing what is right or good or important, then yes, death is absolutely not something that’s gonna ‘cheapen’ a good character. It’s not a defeat if you go down advancing your cause, helping to make the world a better place, or, hell, just doing something you know in your heart is right.
But in this case Tuuri’s death doesn’t really...advance anything. Because Tuuri isn’t dying doing something that people think is noble or good. Tuuri’s drive to explore is treated as eccentric at best, and downright suicidal at worst. She even acknowledges herself it’s kind of incredibly dangerous, but she never sits up and says it’s something she’d absolutely die to do because she thinks it’s just - personal to her. From her own perspective, you could argue she set out to explore, she did, she got to breathe air without a mask, case closed, but I think you and I both know that’s a weak argument. Exploration is not presented as important in either a good or bad way in-comic. It’s just kind of ridiculous. Hell, the government doesnt think it’s important, and neither do the organizers, who are in it to make money.
And Reynir isn’t really looking to explore right now either! I pointed it out in my reply to Minu, but he’s basically backtracked on all exploring. He says in that conversation with Tuuri when she says ‘yes I wanted to explore’ that he wants to go home and never leave. Reynir is supposed to be the clone of Tuuri exploration and curiosity-wise, and yet right now he’s uh. He is deeply regretting setting foot outside of Iceland, and Tuuri dying sure as hell isn’t going to help with that. Kid’s depressed. And has also explicitly blamed his own mindset for being in this situation.
So that’s my opinion, and if it turns out that Tuuri has use in the afterlife, that would be great, but as the comic stands right now at the time of writing, it looks like Tuuri just died and is definitely not coming back. So. If she resurrects or happens to be able to exercise her adventure-y worldview, and if Reynir does an about face and decides he wants to keep exploring, I’ll eat my hat, but I dont think I gotta reach for my beanie anytime soon. I seem to have read very different things into her death than you guys did, which is interesting.

Note
allll the warden asks either nadia orrr ur fave dwarf warden of yours
Zevran
**1. How did your Warden react to Zevran’s failed attempt on their life? Were they amused? Angry**? - amused but in a "did u actually think that would work" kinda angry way, was v close to killing him
2. **Did your Warden match Zevran’s lighthearted attitude or were they more serious? What sort of relationship did they have?** - started out lighthearted when they first met but she grew more serious as her depression started
3. **What did your Warden know of the Crows before meeting Zevran? What did they think of the Crows afterward?** - I'd bet she'd never even heard of them before meeting them, she wasn't rly into textbook studying about history or... anything. Probably doesn't have much of an opinion on them after since he's like the only one she ever meets
4. **Did Zevran betray your Warden? How did they feel in the aftermath of Zevran’s decision?** - I think he did when I played her? Don't think it's canon tho
5. **How well did your Warden keep in contact with Zevran after the Blight? Did they ever see him again?** - probably not very well, they were good friends but not exceptionally close? They'd keep in contact sure but not very often Alistair
1. **What sort of attachment did your Warden form with Alistair, if any at all? Were they close due to their shared experiences as Grey Wardens?** - tbh i imagine she's super uneasy around Alistair for the majority of the blight bc of his Templar past & supportiveness and his comments during the broken circle. Honestly the only reason she'd wanna speak to him is about warden experiences
2. **Did Alistair’s parentage surprise your Warden? How did your Warden’s feelings on the nobility affect their relationship with Alistair?** Surprise? Ye. Also piss her off? Very ye. She was stressed enough without having to lead a king's bastard
3. **Was Alistair reunited with his sister, Goldanna? What did your Warden think of her? Did they relate to Alistair with their own familial struggles?** She probably took him to Goldanna's house but stayed outside or quiet the whole time, agreed w/ her that him coming back expecting a happy reunion was too much
4. **How did your Warden respond to Alistair’s dislike of Loghain? Did they share Alistair’s sentiments or disagree?** - one of the few things she'd find herself agreeing with him on
5. **What became of Alistair after the Landsmeet? How did your Warden feel about their decision of Alistair’s future?** - left him as a warden cause the queen who's name has completely escaped my head is better than him in every way when it comes to ruling. Plus, in her opinion, a guy who can't choose his own life shouldn't choose for the life of an entire country Wynne
1. **What did your Warden think of Wynne’s views on the Circle? Did they have different experiences regarding the Circle?** - I// uh/// don't know Wynne's views on the circle//// I
2. **How did your Warden respond to Wynne’s comments if your Warden romanced someone? Did they tell her it was love or that the relationship was purely physical? ** - well Nadia is aromantic so
3. **How did your Warden feel about the Spirit of Faith within Wynne? Did they see it as possession?** - creeped her out a little but Wynne seemed in control, so it didn't bother her too much. Plus I imagine, in Nadia's mind, possession is when the spirit takes control of the Mage
4. **Did your Warden go with Wynne to meet Aneirin, her one-time apprentice? What did they think of the encounter?** - okay I gotta be honest I never get enough friendship from Wynne & I have no idea what an Aneirin is
5. **What did Wynne choose to do after the Blight was ended? Did your Warden stay in touch with her?** - who even knows what Wynne did, but isn't likely they stayed in touchLeliana
1. **What was your Warden’s position on the Chantry? Were they wary of Leliana due to their religious beliefs or lack thereof?** - of the chantry itself? Very very wary if not actively disliking it. Of Leliana bc of her beliefs? A little, the whole vision from the maker think made her a little apprehensive
2. **Was your Warden curious about bards? If they had the opportunity, would they choose to become one?** - no to both tbh, but did enjoy listening to her stories
3. **If your Warden received Leliana’s personal quest, what did they choose to do with Marjolaine and why?** - probably killed her tbh, she came to care for Leliana at least a little & she knew that Marjolaine might not leave her alone after so
4. **Did your Warden believe that Leliana was telling the truth about her vision from the Maker or were they skeptical? ** - v v v skeptical lmao, especially since most of what she's heard of the maker and andraste for most of her life is "we're gonna lock u away permanently bc of what u were born as bc they told us to in our religious books"
5. **How well did your Warden get along with Leliana? What was their relationship like?** - well enough in the end, listening to Leliana talk & tell stories was probably pretty nice & it turns out they agreed with a lot about how the chantry functions, tho not everything Sten
1. **Had your Warden ever met a Qunari before Sten? What did they expect?** - definitely not tbh? I'm not sure she'd ever even met a dwarf before either, idk if dwarves visit circles a lot or if lyrium trade is done outside a circle
2. **What did your Warden think of Sten’s beliefs that people’s roles are determined at birth? Did they agree?** - reminded her a lot of how the circle told her she should live her life so. Did not agree in the slightest, but didn't argue cause it's an entirely different culture
3. **Did your Warden retrieve Sten’s sword? Did your Warden’s choice to give it to him or withhold it affect their relationship with Sten at all?** - probably returned it to him, didn't rly see a reason not to especially when it wasn't hard to get
4. **How did your Warden speak to Sten? Did they fight with him often or were they more humorous in their responses?** - probably wouldn't wanna fight with him, so was either just curious or more humorous
5. **Was your Warden amused by Sten’s love of cookies?** EhOghren
1. **What did your Warden think of Orzammer? Were they impressed or did they become disillusioned with the city, like Oghren did?** - probably a little disillusioned, likely not a fan of how badly the casteless are treated but impressed otherwise
2. **What were your Warden’s feelings on berserkers? Were they frightened of them? Were they a berserker themselves?** - I don't actually imagine she had much of an opinion?
3. **What was the fate of Branka? If she was killed, was your Warden regretful? How did they act around Oghren afterwards?** - definitely killed her tbh, but wasn't very regretful. Was no fan of having to take lives to make golems. Probably didn't change around Oghren, he creeps her out still
4. **What was the relationship between your Warden and Oghren? Were they friendly or merely reluctant companions?** - reluctant companions honestly, she doesn't like his casual alcoholism or the creepy comments and looks he gives morrigan (& maybe Leliana? Idk)
5. **Did your Warden stay on good terms with Oghren after the Blight? If Oghren got back together with Felsi, did your Warden ever go to meet Oghren’s child, who was named after the Warden?** - definitely did not stay on good terms but was willing to work with him when he came to join the wardens. Might've gotten him back together with Felsi but never met the kid Morrigan
1. **What was your Warden’s first impression of Morrigan? Did they trust her or were they cautious around her?** This closeted & unawakened bisexual definitely thought morrigan was extremely hot, no doubt about it. But did trust her simply cause, as per her logic, if morrigan wanted them dead she'd have been able to do it far sooner than they'd met, but was a little cautious for the sake of her companions
2. **Did your Warden agree to help Morrigan kill Flemeth? Why or why not?** - agreed to help but didn't actually do it maybe? Or maybe she did do it but apprehensively, simply because she'd never heard of or maybe even didn't believed in magic that could let one human possess another
3. **How close was your Warden to Morrigan? Did your Warden respect her abilities as a witch of the wilds?** - not sure if they were close, but she definitely liked Morrigan for sure & respected her, tho their views on helping people were totally different. Learnt shape-shifting from her
4. **Did your Warden attempt to find Morrigan after the Blight? Did they ever succeed in meeting her again?** - probably didn't try to actively look until she heard rumours about someone matching Morrigan's appearance being seen around, then she was curious. Probably found her at the mirror ye
5. **Was Morrigan’s ritual completed? What persuaded your Warden to go through with it or what caused them to refuse it?** - probably, if only to save her own skin. Like I said she was never super fond of Alistair but she doesn't think he deserves to die either? Plus preserving the soul of the old god sounded pretty interesting Loghain
1. **Did your Warden respect Loghain’s experience as a warrior, if not as a ruler?** - she hated every part of him with a passion lmao & lost any respect she might've had for his warrior abilities after she beat him in 1v1 combat. Like a warden just a year outside the circle with only that year's worth of combat experience beating a supposed "hero" and Great Warrior??
2. **How did your Warden react to Loghain’s fierce love for his daughter? Did they share a strong sense of loyalty to their own family?** - by the end of the landsmeet she probably didn't even think he loved Anora, just wanted to use her to usurp the throne. Especially because he locked anora up & had her tortured for getting her out
3. **What did your Warden think of Loghain’s suspicion and dislike of Orlesians? Did they consider it to be ill-founded or accurate? ** - didn't give a single flying shit about it. She'd never met an Orelesian & in not sure she was alive during the occupation, so she just saw it as him showing off and using them as scapegoats
4. **What was your Warden’s opinion on Loghain’s decision to abandon King Cailan and the Grey Wardens at Ostagar? What did they think of Loghain afterwards?** Honestly do I need to answer this one at this point lmao
5. **Did Loghain survive the Landsmeet? If he did, why did your Warden choose to let him live?** - nooooooooope. Considered letting him join the wardens but changed her mind pretty quickly Shale (N/A if The Stone Prisoner DLC was not played)
1. **Was your Warden interested in golems upon meeting Shale? Did they think of golems as weapons or sentient beings?** - wasn't rly interested in golems as things but was interested in Shale. Shale was v likely her first experience with golems so thought of them as living things
2. **Did the realization that Shale was once a living dwarf surprise your Warden? How did that change their views on golems?** - definitely did surprise her, was the whole reason she destroyed the Anvil tbh. Never wanted to touch a control rod again
3. **Did your Warden aid Branka or Caridin? Did their choice affect their relationship with Shale?** - Caridin 100% of the way, was v pleased when Shale was happy with the choice
4. **How did your Warden’s relationship with Shale change during the Blight? Was their relationship maintained after the Blight?** - honestly if Corliss wasn't around, Shale very much may have been Nadia's closest friend during the blight. Was definitely maintained after the blight, tho I think Shale goes to Tevinter to try to regain her dwarf body? So they lose contact for a good long while & Nadia misses them
5. **What did your Warden make of Shale’s “bird issues”? ** "Same dude they'd shit all over the tower!!! And they're loud and ate the crops from our small garden, they're the worst"Dog
**1. Who’s a good boy?!** - Mutt is a good boy!!!!! She's sorry she named him Mutt
