Fic time! Boruto time! ...Without Boruto himself
Spoiler warning: Spoilers up to Boruto episode 248
For a Greater Cause
Buntan stares at the corpse at her feet, still bleeding out despite the man having died already. This was it; it was done. She’d gotten her revenge. What was getting one’s revenge supposed to feel like? Once she got her revenge for Kagura, whatever it made her feel had been overshadowed by her grief over Hebiichigo’s death, but now, while there had been injuries, there had been no deaths on her side. The only one who died today was Shizuma, and yet she felt nothing. Just… empty. She wasn’t glad, but by no means was she sad, either.
Wanting something else to think about, or more like just something to think about, she looks at the person who had helped her with her hunt from the corner of her eye. A chuunin from Konoha, Metal Lee of Team 5. He had joined her, with the Hokage’s permission, in her hunt a few weeks back when she’d finally gotten a reliable lead on where to find her target. Shizuma had caused no trouble to Konoha aside from that one time on Sarada’s class’s field trip years ago as far as she knew, so it was odd for the Hokage to send someone to help. That was enough to tell Buntan that it hadn’t been the man’s own idea; Metal must’ve requested this. Why, she was not sure, but she was grateful for the help; she wasn’t sure if she could’ve done this alone.
“Why did you come to help me?” she should be saying thank you instead of questioning his motives, but the doubt and need for answers comes far more naturally to her.
Metal, having also stared at the body until now, looks up to her.
“If Miss Hebiichigo was still here, she would’ve lent you a hand. But she’s not, and that’s because I couldn’t protect her.”
Ah, so he was still stuck on that, blaming himself of the girl’s untimely death. It’s not like he was entirely wrong, but if he was to blame, then so was she. They’d both been there, so they’d both failed to protect her.
“It wasn’t your fault” Buntan says “Not any more than it was the fault of the rest of us. We were there too, I was there, yet I let her die. We all let her die.”
Needless to say, comforting people wasn’t her strong point. Metal says nothing, and they stand there for a long while until he starts to move the body in front of them. She doesn’t need to ask; she can tell he’s preparing for a burial. She’s not all that sure that Shizuma deserves one, but doesn’t say it, and joins the man.
Once they’re done, Buntan feels ready to go home and leave this all behind; it was over. However, seeing Metal stare at the grave in silence keeps her from voicing her desire to leave. She senses he’s not done with whatever he came here to do, something aside from just helping her.
“Can I burden you with a secret?” he asks all of sudden. Buntan is surprised by the sudden question, but doesn’t think much of it, even though calling it a burden strongly implies that it isn’t something happy. And she owes him, though even if she didn’t, she would’ve probably still given the same answer: “Sure.”
“I’m leaving Konoha” he says, lifting his gaze from the grave, his intense, pitch-black eyes meeting her own “I’m going rogue.”
What had Buntan been expecting him to say? It certainly hadn’t been that, that much she knew.
“Rogue? Why?” and why was he telling it to her? Did he think she wouldn’t try stopping him? Not that he was wrong, and she wouldn’t rat him out, either. Not her village, not her problem, but she did have the urge to know why he’d make such a decision.
“Do you know why Miss Hebiichigo became a shinobi?” he asks.
“…I asked her about it once. Her answer was “because I’m good at killing.”” at the time, Buntan had been sure there was more to it, but she hadn’t asked. Should she have? She was starting to feel like Metal knew something she didn’t.
“Yes, that’s right. She followed the shinobi who’d praised her for her ability to kill after she’d accidentally killed a runaway shinobi. That was the first, and for a long time only, thing she had been praised for.”
Buntan hadn’t known that. She didn’t know much of Hebiichigo’s life before they met, other than it hadn’t been an easy one, and even that she only knew by observing her, not because of something the girl herself had told. But for one reason or the other, she’d told Metal.
“She became a shinobi and honed her skill to kill because she thought it was the only thing, she was good for, because no one gave her a chance to think otherwise, to try something else. There are lots of people like her out there, and I want to help them. For her sake; no one deserves a fate like hers, dying without getting to try out other paths in her life, without really even getting to see that they were there!”
She could understand what he was saying, or at least she thought she could, and she respected his desire to help complete strangers, even though that was anything but her style, yet it didn’t answer the most important question.
“But why go rogue? Wouldn’t it be easier to help others as a shinobi? You would have your team and your friends to help you, and you wouldn’t have to worry about being hunted down for being a rogue ninja.”
“I would if I could; I already tried” Metal says, visibly deflating as the light leaves his eyes. He looks away “I talked about this with Denki and Iwabe. They understood, and we brought this up to our teacher and even the Hokage. They said they understood what we meant, but that it was important to have strong new shinobi available for the village’s sake, so encouraging everyone with talent to become shinobi was necessary. And that even though we do that, no one’s forced to become shinobi. And I’m sure that’s true for those of us born in the village, those privileged enough to have choices in front of us right from the start, but what about the ones with talent who have nothing, the ones like Hebiichigo? They’ll take the chance when given one, and no one bothers to let them think of other paths in life. That’s what I want to change. I want to give people like that a chance to decide for themselves, before any village can get their hands on them and make them think being a shinobi is the only choice they have!”
Buntan stares. She had not expected such a passionate speech. But how was Metal planning on doing it all?
“At first, I thought that I could still do things on my own and with my team, help people from outside the village that are recruited, but others caught up to it soon and told us to stop. We were just telling people there were other options for them, too, yet we weren’t allowed to do that. Who would’ve it harmed if one or two people occasionally chose differently?! It’s about their lives!”
The sharp toothed woman couldn’t agree more, but was the situation really as bad as Metal made it seem? The Seventh Hokage was known for his soft heart; wouldn’t he back Metal up in this? She voiced her thoughts, but the boy shook his head furiously.
“The Hokage himself told us to stop; that’s why Iwabe and Denki quit. I know that he has to do what he sees as the best for the village, but I can’t think like that, I can’t stop thinking about the individual people who might be able to make themselves better lives if they just got the chance!”
So, the Hokage was no longer as soft as in the stories. Had his age and the world caught up to him, getting rid of his naivety? Or had the stories ever been true in the first place? Buntan didn’t know, and probably never would.
“Well, the Hokage isn’t naïve. That’s good, considering that he has a lot of people to lead. But you are. How do you plan to find such people? And to avoid those chasing you?  How will you get money to live? Do you have any plan on how to go about this?”
Metal gives her a heated glare, but while the boy knows how to give a convincing speech, he lacks the ability to intimidate.
“Of course, I have plans!” he defends “I’ll leave while pretending to go on a vacation, so I’ll have a head start! After I don’t come back in time, it’ll still take a while for them to understand that I left on purpose! I have savings; I’ll get by with those for a while, and I can do small jobs here and there. If I keep low profile, it’ll make it difficult for anyone to find me. I’ll- “
Metal rambled on, and while there were a lot of risks and what ifs, Buntan was pleasantly surprised about how well he had thought things out.
“And what if I go rat you out to the Mizukage right now? He’d report it all to the Hokage. What would you do then?” she asks while he’s midsentence and Metal stops talking. But to her surprise, he doesn’t seem worried.
“You won’t; that’s not what you’re like” he says, sure of himself “That’s why I chose you.”
Well, he wasn’t wrong. Buntan was a lot of things, not all of them good, but she wasn’t a snitch. She wouldn’t rat out a friend.
“Why did you tell me all this in the first place?” a thought occurs to her “Is this why you helped me to get my revenge? To make me feel indebted to you so that I would follow you?”
“What? No!” Metal looks absolutely mortified by the idea. It’s not like Buntan had seriously considered it in the first place, but with how genuinely he denies it, what little doubt she did have leaves, too. But he had to have some reason “I could never expect that out of you or anyone else! I just… needed to…”
He trails off, and Buntan recalls where this conversation started from.
“Can I burden you with a secret?”
“You wanted someone to know the truth” she says. Metal nods, visibly relieved, but also embarrassed if the pink hue on his cheeks was anything to go by “You wanted someone to know that you aren’t doing this out of selfishness or some greed. You wanted there to be someone who didn’t judge you, but you needed it to be someone who wouldn’t try to stop you.”
“Yes, exactly!” Metal confirms, but his smile leaves as soon as it came “But I now realize that it was a bad idea; it’s unfair to push a burden like this on someone. I’m sor-“
“Don’t” Buntan cuts him off fast, and Metal snaps his jaw shut “Don’t say you’re sorry, I… I’m glad you told me, that you trusted me.”
And she wasn’t going to spit on that trust, even though she felt like she really should, for Metal’s own sake. Not that she’d actually go and tell the Mizukage, but maybe Boruto or Sarada… if only Kagura was still alive, she’d definitely tell him.
“But are you sure you want to do this? Kyohõ and I got off as easily as we did due to Kagura’s insistence, our young age and the fact that our actions were limited to Kirigakure and the Land of Water. You might have friends in high places, but you aren’t a child anymore, and if you really want to avoid being caught, you’ll have to leave the Land of Fire. If you do this, there’ll be no going back.”
“I know. It’s not like this is some sudden impulse, most certainly not. I thought of it long and hard before coming to this decision. I have to do this.”
They stared in to each other’s eyes, and the always so earnest boy’s, or more like a man’s, really, gaze didn’t waver. His mind was set.
“…Visit Kagura and Hebiichigo when you start” Buntan settled on saying “You might not have a safe chance to do so for a long time afterwards.”
“Right! I will!” Metal says, and even while she doesn’t know him very well, even Buntan can tell he’s relieved she’s not trying to talk him out of it. He’s like an open book, which makes her wonder if his friends and family will eventually notice that something’s wrong and stop him. She’s not sure if she should hope for that to happen or not.
In the end, it only takes three weeks for Metal to arrive at the graves of their friends. Buntan’s on a lookout high up in the tree when he does so. He doesn’t notice her, causing the woman to scoff. It’s not like she was in plain sight, but if he was going rogue, he’d need to learn to pay attention to his surroundings at all ti-
“Did you come to see me off, Miss Buntan?”
She blinks, surprised. So, he had noticed her, simply not acknowledging her presence until now. She supposes she didn’t give him enough credit. She jumps down, landing directly behind him.
“I came to see if you could really pull this off. No one suspected anything?” she asks. She hadn’t thought he’d change his mind, but she had been sure that someone, probably Boruto, would notice something being wrong and would confront him about it.
Metal turns to face her.
“They seemed to notice that something was wrong, but I just claimed to be a little tired. Taking some time off fit well with that, too. And I made sure I wasn’t followed, many times, so there is no need to worry about that.”
With that, he picks up the bag at his feet.
“I wish you well from now on. To Kyohõ too, of course. But now, I must be on my way.”
Buntan smirks. That was her cue.
“Great” she says, walking over to the tree and taking her own bag from where it’s hidden from sight just right “Let’s go, then.”
Metal stares. Blinks, then stares some more, before what she said sinks in.
“What? No no, I never asked you to come along, I told you that didn’t I?” he panics, waving his arms around “I only told you because- I mean- “
“I know” Buntan assures, closing the distance between them to put a hand on his shoulder “I know you didn’t. This is my own choice. This is what I want to do. After Shizuma died, I didn’t feel any sense of relief or happiness, I just felt empty. I had no idea what to do. But now I do; you gave me something to feel about again.”
“But going rogue- didn’t you work so hard back then so that you wouldn’t be chased down? All the work that Kagura put in to getting you your freedom- “
“Has been put to good use during these few years, but it’s time to let go” she interrupts him yet again “Following the orders of someone sitting safe in his office while subordinates risk their lives isn’t for me, anyway.”
“Then what about Kyohõ? If you leave, then his whole team- “
Buntan interrupts him by putting two fingers in to her mouth and whistling, shutting him up. Only a few seconds later, Kyohõ walks up to them with a bag thrown over his shoulder.
“He’s coming too”
“What? But-?”
“I can’t leave Buntan alone, and I want to help people like Hebiichigo, too” this time it’s Kyohõ who interrupts the soon to be rogue ninja’s speech “I want to do this.”
“We had a long talk about this, and we’re not changing our minds” Buntan smirks “You’re stuck with us.”
Metal stares at them. Buntan is prepared to argue some more if he still tries to change their minds, but it turns out to be unnecessary.
“Alright, I’ll be counting on you, then” he bows deep, dramatical as usual “Thank you for joining me!”
“Yeah yeah, whatever” Buntan says, still not used to his overflowing honesty despite having known him for years. No wonder Hebiichigo always found it awkward “One question, though.”
“Yes?”
“What’s with the clothes?” she can’t help but ask. This was the first time ever that she saw Metal wearing something else than a ridiculous green jumpsuit. He was still in a similar outfit, but this time it was black.
“Ah, this? I couldn’t possibly dishonor the Great Green Beasts of Konoha by wearing the usual when I go rogue. Leaving Konoha means leaving behind that, too.”
She recalled him defending the ridiculous garment heatedly when it had been made fun of, and he’d worn it so much; it was obviously important to him. He had made sacrifices for this, unlike her or Kyohõ; after all, they had nothing to sacrifice. Many people in this world had nothing to sacrifice, aside from their lives.
It was people like that that they were setting out to help.
“Kagura must be rolling in his grave by now, but let’s do this” Buntan says, holding her fist out “For Hebiichigo, and for those like her.”
“For Hebiichigo” the two chorus as their fists hit hers.

god I'm so fucking furious at the removal of Te Reo Māori names from organisations around Aotearoa. it's a complete non-issue, every organisation has the English name directly underneath the Māori name. I have never once as an English speaker been unable to understand what an organisation is for. Winston Peters, the Deputy Prime Minister, who is literally Māori himself, said “Te Papa is a historic name but tell me this waka kotahi, how many boats have you seen going down the road?”. Waka does not just mean canoe. it means vessel, and waka kotahi (the transport agency of Aotearoa) explains this VERY SIMPLY on their official website. waka kotahi means to travel together as one. Can you see how fucking upsetting this is. A Māori person in power who is in agreement about banning his own language, being so cocky about something that he does not even understand due to the suppression of the language of his people. It makes me sick. I've seen reports from Māori people all over Aotearoa speaking out about how upset and furious they are, how decades of progress have been undone in the fight to restore the rights of their people who have for so long been oppressed and have suffered the effects of colonisation. Please share this if you can, I hate knowing how few people will hear about this, I know there is so much injustice in the world right now and it is so exhausting, I know. I love you all, keep it up.

Americans not giving a shit about the wildfires burning down forests and homes in Canada until smoke starts spreading across the border. Meanwhile Indigenous communities across the country are far more likely to be impacted by the fires and I’ve seen all of one link to a charity and about nine million memes. 🙃

Dp x Dc AU: Tim doesn’t rest, not even in Death.
It’s a heart attack that gets him, well, that and the insane amount of fear toxin flooding his system. He was dead for a full three minutes before he watches (how was he watching?) his eldest brother get his heart going again and get his unconscious body to the cave. Alfred gets him onto bat-life support and Leslie looks gravely at his family after she’s done her best to heal him. They decide to keep trying, they don’t want to believe he’s gone.
Tim watches in fury. He’s more useful than this, he’s not just going to die and let the family mourn him! Tim sets to work trying to understand what’s happened to him and he realizes he must be a ghost. Therefore, if he wants to understand ghosts he needs to go where ghosts are, and thankfully he just read a JLD doc saying to avoid Amity Park at all costs.
It’s takes him a second to get used to flying at full speed, but he finds himself surrounded by strange people in a strange town and… he notices himself becoming more visible. He’s able to interact with more and more objects, he even picked up a pencil! Poltergeist is a step forward in his plan, Tim accepts this change of pace.
Then Tim meets Danny, a normal human kid who looks like he could be brought into the manor and given a cape, who looks straight at him.
“Wait, who are you? You didn’t die in Amity did you?”
“No, I died in Gotham. I came here to understand how I’m a ghost and how I can get back to my dying body. I just need a few answers.” Tim explains, and notices that his voice isn’t his own, like it’s a different language entirely that comes out.
“Well, uh, I dunno about going back to your body but it’s not safe for you to be here. The GIW are looking for lost souls like you that people won’t notice go missing. So get back to your family and find peace. Im sorry but that’s really the best advice I have.” Danny answers.
Tim begs him for answers on the GIW. Begs him for any answers at all. Danny shrugs him off each time, tell him that he’s just a ghost and he needs to move on before he gets hurt or becomes a problem.
Tim decides if he’s a problem, he’ll probably get more answers.
Soon enough, he’s stepping into the end of a battle where Phantom is getting Skulker into a thermos, and demands answers, and if not answers help.
They brawl, and Tim’s training as Red Robin gets him farther than a lot of ghosts. And then, when he knows he’s beat and he’s about to share thermos space with the robot jackass (who he can interrogate and then build his own robot) Tim realizes something.
“You’re still alive, aren’t you? You’re Danny, black hair and blue eyes.” Tim says and suddenly Phantom is as still as the dead despite the accusation.
“How the fuck- dude. Okay, you know what? Fine. Lets go talk, you’re clearly not giving up and I need you to never say that shit out loud ever again.”
Because blackmail works in life for Tim, blackmail also apparently works in death.
He’s given all of the info they have on the GIW, he’s introduced to ghost technology and how it works with ectoplasm. He’s told about the portal (although they refuse to sneak him into the house to see it- he can handle a few lasers, ugh) and he’s told about the general sequence of events in Danny’s life/death.
And then Tim is suddenly back in his body in Gotham.
The family found a way to bring him back and he’s 100% alive, no longer ghostly, but he retained all his memories.
“We have a war against the government to start” are not the first words his family expected to hear from Tim post death.

Your Ancient History, Written In Wax
-
Danny knew he should have put better security around the Sarcophagus of Eternal Sleep. It wasn’t even Vlad who opened it this time! The fruitloop was too busy doing his actual mayor duties because for some godforsaken reason, the man got re-elected.
No, it wasn’t Vlad. And it wasn’t Fright Knight, either. Nor the Observants. Who opened the Sarcophagus, then? Danny didn’t have time to find out as Pariah Dark promptly tore open a hole in reality and hunting Danny down.
The battle was longer this time. He didn’t have the Ecto-Skeleton, as that was the first thing Pariah had destroyed. The halfa had grown a lot over the past few years, and learned some new tricks, but apparently sleeping in a magic ghost box meant that Pariah had absorbed a lot of power. The bigger ghost acted like a one-man army!
Amity Park was caught in the middle of the battle, but the residents made sure it went no further than that. Vlad and the Fentons made a barrier around the town to keep the destruction from leaking. Sam, Tucker, and Dani did crowd control while Danny faced the king head-on.
Their battle shook the Zone and pulled them wildly between the mortal plane and the afterlife. Sometimes, residents noticed a blow from Pariah transported them to the age of the dinosaurs, and Phantom’s Wail brought them to an unknown future. Then they were in a desert. Then a blazing forest. Then underwater. It went on like that, but no one dared step foot outside of Amity. They couldn’t risk being left behind.
It took ages to beat him, but eventually, Danny stood above the old ghost king, encasing his symbols of power in ice so they couldn’t be used again. He refused to claim the title for himself. Tired as he was, Danny handed the objects off to Clockwork for safe keeping and started repairing the damage Pariah had done to the town. The tear he’d made was too big to fix, for now, so no one bothered. They just welcomed their new ghostly neighbors with open arms and worked together to restore Amity Park.
Finally, the day came to bring down the barrier. People were gathered around the giant device the Fentons had built to sustain it. Danny had brought Clockwork to Amity, to double check that they had returned to the right time and dimension.
Clockwork assured everyone that they were in the right spot, and only a small amount of time had passed, so the Fentons gave the signal to drop the shield.
Very quickly did they discover that something was wrong. The air smelled different. The noise of the nearby city, Elmerton, was louder and more chaotic. Something was there that wasn’t before, and it put everyone on edge.
Clockwork smiled, made a remark about the town fitting in better than before, and disappearing before Danny could catch him.
Frantic, Danny had a few of his ghost buds stay behind to protect the town while he investigated.
He flew far and wide, steadily growing horrified at the changes the world had undergone. Heroes, villains, rampant crime and alien invasions. The Earth was unrecognizable. There were people moving around the stars like it was second nature and others raising dead gods like the apocalypse was coming. Magic and ectoplasm was everywhere, rather than following the ley lines like they were supposed to.
Danny returned to Amity.
The fight with Pariah had taken them through space and time. Somewhere along the way, they had changed the course of history so badly that this now felt like an alien world.
How was he supposed to fix this?

In the Watchtower, The Flash was wrapping up monitor duty while Impulse buzzed around him, a little more jittery than usual. The boy was talking a mile a minute, when alarms started blaring an alarming green. Flash had never seen this alarm before, and its crackling whine was grating on his ears.
Flash returned to the monitor, frantically clicking around to find the issue, but nothing was popping up. No major disasters, no invasions, no declarations of war. Nothing! What was causing the alarm?
Impulse swore and zipped to a window, pressing his face against it and staring down at Earth. “Fuck! It’s today isn’t it? I forgot!”
“What’s today?” Flash asked. He shot off a text to Batman, asking if it was an error. The big Bat said it wasn’t, and that he would be there soon.
“The arrival of Amity Park. I learned about this in school; the alarm always gives me headaches.”
Flash turned to his grandson, getting his attention. “Bart,” he stressed. “What are you talking about?”
Impulse barely glanced over his shoulder. Now that Flash was facing him, he could see a strong glow coming from Earth. “The first villain, first anti-villain, and the first hero,” he said anxiously. “They all protect the town of the original metas. They’re all here.”
“Here? Now??”
“Yeah? They weren’t before, but they are now. The first hero said there was time stuff involved, which was what inspired me to start practicing time travel in the first place.”
“I’m not following.”
“It’s okay. We should probably go welcome them before they tear apart Illinois, though. The history I remember says that some of them freaked and destroyed a chunk of the Midwest during a fight with each other.”
“WHAT?”
#dpxdc#pondhead blurbs#liminal amity park#I’ve seen stuff like this in the mhaxdp fandom and I eat it up every time#basically the fight with Pariah caused the town to jump through time a little#and while they THOUGHT they were keeping everything in#shit leaked out and tainted those points in time#so technically#historically and genetically speaking#Amity Park is the origin point for the meta gene and Danny made history as the first hero#because Clockwork is a little shit#everyone embodies a basic ability and it has grown from there#the flash family are direct descendants of Dani (speed force Dani for the win)#Dash is the reason super strength exists#so on and so forth#go buck wild#bart learned about it briefly in history class in the 30th century#practically hero worships them#booster gold knows about them too but in contrast to Bart’s excitement#booster is fucking terrified because there was a period where Amity Park rebelled against the US government#and he’s from that specific time#he learned to fear phantom because he lived during that part while Bart is from farther in the future when those issues got resolved#guess who’s chosen to welcome the town? >:)#if you’re wondering what happened to the GIW#they turned into the branch Amanda Waller runs#Danny is the first hero#Vlad the first villain#and Dani the first anti hero#there’s an arc where Danny is trying to fix things but clockwork won’t let him into the timestream and all the heroes are horrified#because yeah Danny is the OG but if he goes back in time to fix his ‘mistake’ what will happen to them?

"UWU op defends Israel UWU"-
Have I not made it clear enough what I think of the Israeli government? Have I not made it clear enough that what infuriates me the MOST about all of this shit going on is that neither government gives a damn and civilians will CONTINUE to die because Hamas and Netanyahu are cranking that war machine for their own benefit? Have I not made it clear that I think what the Israeli government is doing is fucking horrific, a war crime, murder, a violation of human rights?
Why do I even need to MAKE that clear? Why is it that you can talk about LITERALLY anything else, any other country, and people don't rush to fucking accuse you of personally supporting the government when you discuss the wrongs committed against a people, but the SECOND you're a Jew you have to justify your stance about Israel?
Why is it that I cannot even be angry about the slaughter of MY FUCKING PEOPLE. Innocents. Civilians. Fucking CHILDREN. The slaughter of the Palestinian people. Innocents. Civilians. FUCKING CHILDREN.
Without one of you absolute fucking monsters deciding to slap some shit on an unrelated post about how "uwu op defends an apartheid state just ignore that"? Do you have to make it part of EVERYTHING I do? Do you consider everything I put out there tainted somehow because I don't support your joy, your cheering, your unrestrained GLEE at the murder of Jews? Do I need to publish a fucking thesis on my stance on Israel, Palestine, and their respective governments like a fucking disclaimer any time I want to talk about myself, my oppression, my experience as a Jew, or a disabled person, or a queer person, because you fuckers cannot for five seconds be NORMAL about Jews?
To decide to slap something about Israel and Palestine on a post I made about MY oppression, about how people will oppress you no matter who you actually are- it all depends who they think you are. It's a bit ironic, isn't it? Doesn't QUITE fit, but it's funny that someone would read that post, agree with it, and then think "Ah yes, THIS is the place to put some tags about how OP, a Jew who has been reeling for the last couple of weeks about the violence, who has been checking on their Israeli friends every day to make sure they aren't fucking dead, who is dealing with vicious antisemitism from people who they thought were friends, who watched as the people claiming to be progressive supporters of human rights on this hellsite and others OVERWHELMINGLY reply to the murder of their people with good they deserved it fuck you, is CLEARLY a defender of an apartheid state and that makes them a bad person because something something I don't know what nuance tastes like and I am a bigoted ass."
I am TIRED.

i know that folks from the west are not easily giving into support for palestine because “well israeli civilians dont deserve to die, stop being a dick by cheering for this”
and listen. we understand that very well. we cannot cheer for innocent people losing their lives. but we wouldnt BE here today if this were something that could have been sorted out over a negotiation
netanyahu just last week, w a disgusting ass smug face made it clear at the UN GA that he was redrawing the map of the middle east. he was literally there with a board and a marker pen, shamelessly redrawing a map of israel over palestine. people fucking clapped. there is video footage, goo look at it.
and that’s just what the west is seeing. what the west has been conveniently ignoring, or worse, supporting, is the apartheid in palestine for the past 100 years. what is happening in israel today, theyve been doing exactly that and Worse for a century in palestine.
any both sides argument misses the fucking point because it ignores a whole history of how theyve fucked over the palestinian people. not just outright killing their people but also stealing land and resources and redirecting them to the israeli cause.
but the west doesn’t actually give a fuck about arab countries or its people, in fact actively funds genocide. so eat your shitass opinion about not celebrating the one time palestinians have managed to look like a threat.
as hopeful as we are, we know israel is too powerful and has the west as its ally. but this is what palestinian journalist had to say about it “they have decided to fight and die on their feet, rather than just die on their knees”
another journalist reporting from gaza said “well the people in gaza are used to airstrikes of this kind so they have a standard protocol on how to evacuate and know when to give up, and go down together as a family”
let the enormity of those statements sink in, and then maybe you can fucking talk about both sides.

The bjp government introduced the ucc bill in Uttarakhand which has made it mandatory for live in couples to register with the government and a copy of the registration will be sent to respective families. It also added the father as a first class legal heir for inheritance of property, encroaching upon the the right of the mother, wife, daughter (the actual victims of patriarchy, who most likely did not have any social right to gain access to financial independence or inheritance from other family members) to accommodate the father, who more than likely than not already has financial freedom and ownership rights over land property. Moving on, they removed the Muslim personal law, which guaranteed the rights of the daughter in a fixed inheritance percentage. Not to mention the whole act is modelled after hindu personal laws and demanding other religions to bend according to it is inherently regressive no matter how progressive the law on paper looks to be. So should I just bang my head against the wall right now and be done with it or watch as the bjp government slowly sets fire to all our lives?

I love (sarcasm) that the two options for working when disabled are:
1. Work at the risk of (permanently) disabling yourself further. Go home to a paycheck that won't cover much, but at least you have money. Fight the urge to cry when you're home because you're in so much pain and you can't do basic things anymore
2. Don't work. You'll be in just as much pain, plus you will have even less money. Getting a disability check probably won't cover anything, but chin up! A single dollar is better than no dollar, right?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Nobody should be forced to make the decision to work or starve, but there's an added layer of torture when your body literally cannot handle these options. My heart goes out to us all, the world can change for the better

Holy fuck, I have just learned that starting from today, your Allocation Adulte Handicapé (French state's allowance for disabled adults who can't work) is no longer tied to your partner's income!
This means disabled adults can now live with their partner and even get married without losing part or all of their allowance, as it was before!
This will help so many of us. So many of us who had to live with their partner because they needed their help everyday and so couldn't get governmental financial help and had to scrap on with only one person's income. So many of us who had to stay with their abusive partner because they didn't have any income of their own. And so many of us who had to live alone because we couldn't afford to lose our allowance
That's the best news I've heard this year. Disability benefits being tied to your partner's income is still the norm in most countries. I hope it'll spread to the rest of the world quickly

Prompt 238
"Ugh. There's a group at the barrier again." Star squinted over the buildings they were all sprawled on almost lazily. "Seriously? I thought the GIW would have given up by now since there's 'no more humans' here," Sam's voice was sarcastic as she combed claws through her hair. The others grumbled in agreement, Valerie spreading her wings in a stretch. "Who wants to bet Danny is already about to crash their intrusion?" "Hah! I bet Dash is there already to video it!" "Those are both suckers bets," Wes scoffed, clear eyelid closing over his eyes and temporarily dimming the glow. "Let's be honest, Paulina has already left, she's going to get there first."
- - -
The GIW have been having a bit of trouble. Maybe just a bit. See, they were supposed to be taking care of the ecto-entities. Studying them, y'know? But er, some earlier agents had been a bit trigger happy, which meant the entities were well... aggressive. And a city full of dragon-fae-beings disliking any presence wearing white was rather terrifying, so they... might have gotten permission to bring a hero with them. For protection of course. ... Hopefully no one dies-
Feel free to ignore any of these pics lol, they're just ideas.
Order: Jazz, Danny, Tucker, Sam, Valerie, Wes, Dash, Kwan, Paulina, Star, Ellie, Dan
