this Sunday has felt like it’s gone on forever, so I decided to pick this baby back up. I have finally finished the moon!
you can also see that I am not so amazing making a knot stitch, but I’ll figure it out as I go. practice makes perfect and all that jazz.

Love when I'm looking for knitting patterns aimed at beginner knitters and find patterns with instructions that look like someone keysmashed across both the numberpad and keypad and then threw a couple commas in there for flavor. Webbed sites please I'm begging you to go easy on me, I don't know the knitter code yet and I barely understand what a purl stitch is. When I say "beginner" I mean "beginner"; I'm not gonna be able to answer your riddles three!

I HAVE MADE LEGS!
Tumblr media
Just need to do the waistband (and hemming) and I am doooone with the pj bottoms for eldest!
Look at this seam joining!
Tumblr media
That's almost dead on target! Not bad for a learner. XD (Yes, still classify myself as a beginner because this is within the first ten items I have sewn. XD) And, because I remembered this time, I've been finishing my seams! Boom baby!
Right, gonna get at least part of this waistband done then I'm off to bed.

Did I ever show you the final results of my alien cat amigurumi? Cause in the end I wasn't happy with it and I ended up redesigning it
This was the original cat:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is my second attempt:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The orange cat looks like a blob on camera but I'm much happier with it! The first attempt ended up being too tall and noodly for my tastes, but the feedback I got seems to prefer it to the orange one anyway. The only thing long boi got going for him is the colorwork imho, and I might try to translate that into the other pattern eventually 🤔 I do wanna make a calico at some point
So I guess I'm curious now. Do you guys have a preference, and if so, do you mind telling me why?

why are 99% of crochet animal patterns just vague blobs. cmon. i know we can do better as a community. have you seen the shit the national parks service put out? yeah, the NPS. there are grandmas on the frontlines of the most formally accurate critters this side of a 3D printer. we can do better than orb with two triangles sewn on. we can make a more accurate cat. that is NOT what a turtle looks like. step AWAY from the axolotl

I have a bit of a delima
I have SO MUCH Red Heart yarn that I need to use up and go through, I Do Not Love The Yarn you could say, a lot of it was given to me or was bought when I first started yarnbending.
Do any of you have crochet project recommendations where using Red Heart actually makes sense? I’m planning on a tote bag, but I really can’t think of anything else because the feeling of the yarn is just miserable and I Do Not Like Touching It when it’s all yarnbended together for extended periods of time. So the bag is fine. But no wearables, blankets, or things you touch very often.
It’s just Red Heart’s super saver acrylic, worsted weight. And I can’t figure out for the life of me what to do with it in a useful way.
