Story Nugget - Friends at War

Here’s an idea:

Two young adult superhero/supernatural teams bump into each other when they catch wind of a shared supervillain threat. They partner up and become friends.

After the big conflict is over, they have a party together. The roughest of each group--a silent bullheaded berserker and a chaos gremlin magic user--get drunk and have an arm wrestling contest. Gremlin goes flying, but runs right back shouting, “Wait, wait--I almost had it!” Full-on wrestling ensues. Highlight of the night.

Fast forward. The two teams couldn’t exactly go back to not knowing the other exists, so they’ve continued to try to be allies. However, unfavorable circumstances, group differences, and plain old inexperience have made things more and more tense. It escalated to tragedies, and now each side has fired shots that can’t be overlooked. Everything feels like it’s about to blow up.

At an anxious attempt at a get-together one night, the berserker goes off on his own to mentally prepare for the war that’s bound to break out the next day.

That’s when the gremlin suddenly shows up, asking for a rematch. Berserker has few enough fucks left to give to accept without thinking. He creamed the guy last time, after all.

They sit down and clasp hands.

The two are instantly somewhere else. A quiet peaceful field with no one around but them. The gremlin retracts his hand. He really just wanted to talk.

“I know we’re not friends or anything, but I feel like I can’t go to anyone else. Please tell me you’re as freaked out by all of this as I am.”

“Oh my god, yes,” the berserker replies with relief.

The two most unhinged combatants proceed to break down and vent for over an hour about everything that’s happened. They worry about their friends and where things might lead. Only these two would admit it, but neither group wants to go through with this either. They ruminate on what to do.

The berserk/cursed form guide 2.0

So I decided to give this headcanon a bit of a rework for the funsies (and also because drawing cookies is really fun jsfnsbf)

Anyhow let's start with the basics! (Almost all of it is headcanon)

First of all, a "cursed" form is a manifestation of a cookie's magic which can be triggered only when specific factors are at play, these mainly being mana levels and stress levels.

Mana is similiar to a "battery", and works as an indicator for the amount of magic present in one's body (The more a cookie is experienced, the less mana it consumes to cast advanced spells).

It depletes when magic is used (The amount depends on the complexity of what's being done) and when it's low enough it starts to have reprecussions on the cookie itself (i'll go more in depth on this another time).

Either way, one of the things it influences is a spell's ability to "fail"

If a cookie is distracted whilst casting something, it might not be intuned enough with it's magic and is more likely to nullify a spell (expecially if complex).

Most of the time nothing will happen, but if this is combined with low mana and high levels of stress it can trigger a defense mechanism which makes magic take a hold of a cookies body (This can also be triggered when a spell is casted on someone with equally high levels of stress, thus triggering this reponse from their body as well).

The cookie is not in control of itself in this state nor is it concious of what's going on, thus this state being refered to as "cursed".

This form is pretty much magic given a phisical appearence that tends to reflect both a cookie's looks and magic type

Oddly enough, it's destructive only if it has been provoked and takes most of one's own traits to define its behaviour, the way it acts can help with figuring out how to get a cookie out of this state

Ways to get a cookie out of the "cursed" state

This manifestation of magic can either percieve it's surroundings as a threat as soon as it takes control of the cookie or (this is less usual to see) not break havoc as soon but still be incredibly tense to everything around it.

To give the cookie back control one can either fight the manifestation until it vanishes, or wait for it to dissapear on it's own as time runs out

A staring contest is usually better than a full on fight against uncontrolled magic

As soon as the cookie is given control back, in both cases it's mana will be greatly depleted and it is very likely for them to faint as soon as they're back to normal, once they wake up the cookie won't recall memories of that defense mechanism (Due to the whole "not being concious nor in control" ordeal)

I Thought I Didn't Have Long To Live! - By Ari Choi (8.5/10)

A funny romance protagonist. What a breath of fresh air! Funny girls don't usually mesh well with yanderes, but it works here. Our heroine is obsessed with finishing her bucket list before her early death. So, she ignores all of the red flags. She marches up to the Legendary Monster Duke, and she says she wants to date him casually. Just for the hell of it.

Lariette is a good daughter. She does paperwork. She helps her father hold up his failing family. She puts up with her bratty brother. The problem is her family doesn't value her. She's pretty, so they try to sell her to an old rich guy. When Lariette gets diagnosed with Too Much Mana disease she knows she's doomed.

So, she beats up her ugly fiance and she leaves.

Lmao.

She's super good at purification magic, so she decides to sell her marketable skill...wait. Purification wizards are not in high demand. Healers are easier to use. So, she's broke. Lol. Her bag gets stolen too. She gets saved, violently, by a handsome man.

Asrahan is a Weird Duke. He got cursed when he was really young. A witch gave him rotting flesh, and the eternal stench of death. He's handsome, but his cursed body is repulsive. He's very lonely. Only a mega strong purification wizard can save him, and he hasn't found one. No one is willing to go near the living corpse.

Lariette isn't affected by his aura, because she's even more powerful than she thinks she is. She's good with fire and healing, but she doesn’t know she's on par with the pope.

She asks him to date her. He says no and she offers a purification contract instead.

He accepts.

She sees her relationship with him like this.

Her efforts to seduce him are all fun and games to her.

He sees their relationship like this.

Try to think about it from his point of view. People have been vomiting in fear at the sight of him since he was like seven. Now, a gorgeous woman sings his praises daily. Plus, she makes the smell go away. It's a slow process though, because his curse is a nasty one. They get even closer because of it. Purification is super draining. He appreciates the pain Lariette goes through for his sake.

Poor Asrahan turned to violence as a young man. His mom died too (of course) so he went to war to be surrounded by other corpses. He is the strongest guy around. His nasty aura makes him a hard opponent to beat too. It is sad though. Asrahan gets along great with his butler, but he has no friends his age and zero experience with women. Even though he's twenty seven. That's rough.

Lariette's old fiance tries to punish her for leaving. Asrahan immediately beheads the men he hired. He cuts off the old man's arm as a warning too. Asrahan doesn't completely accept his feelings for a while. He really sees himself as a monster. He isn't going to let Lariette leave though. Every time he thinks about becoming pure and free of the curse...he isn't happy because that means she'll leave.

Priest Doha is a great character, because he's not a real yandere. He's possessive because Lariette is special. He does fall for her, but his attraction is rooted in selfishness. Asrahan doesn't think he's good enough for Lariette, because she's so wonderful. Plus he also slices heads off. He beats priest guy no problem. Lariette chooses him. There is no contest.

Lariette rushes their dating life. Asrahan gets jealous of Doha and they start dating. Lariette wants to do it all before she dies. She also thinks Asrahan is experienced, with lots of past girlfriends. She can't comprehend how scary the corpse thing is, because she can't sense it. Asrahan doesn't handle being in lust for the first time well, but he tries his best. Consent. Cool!

Every other character sees Asrahan as a cold guy. Just because he killed thousands of men and his skin is purple and he sometimes goes into berserker rages blahblahblah. So judgemental.

I'm kidding.

Lariette realizes she messed up when the doctor says she's fine. She got misdiagnosed. Immediately after that she has to face the consequences. Asrahan is very kind to her....and that’s it. He doesn't need anyone else. He's so used to being alone. Having love is more than enough fulfillment for him, which is bad. She's got a life to live, and she won't get any freedom if she stays with her corpse boyfriend.

What a pickle!

Wait why is it that in the famous “bthump” page the panels are put together in a way that gives the illusion that guts and griffith are facing each other when griffith’s heart goes bthump. We know guts is fighting zodd at that moment he cant be having a staring contest with griffith he has his back to him anyway. I feel like if u show that page out of context to anyone they’ll assume the two are looking at each other. Or am i going crazy? I mean i usually wouldn’t read too much into such a thing but i feel like miura actively uses paneling to convey certain messages throughout the story. He still could’ve just had a silly moment there idk

Because Guts is what's making his heart go bthump!

I have a post about the paneling specifically here, actually, but I'll get into it again because I feel like that explanation could be more detailed lol.

So basically they're positioned like that, Guts on one side of the panel, Griffith on the other, as a parallel and contrast to the final panel immediately before that page:

Griffith is on the left, fetus is on the right. Fetus is Griffith's theory, or hope. I came here to test my heart and make sure I don't have feelings, and oops looks like I just failed that test while watching Guts fight a stronger opponent, notably similar circumstances to the first time I ever saw him. Hmm gotta be that fetus, surely these feelings aren't real.

This is a conclusive counterpoint to Griffith's argument, stemming from reality rather than Griffith's thoughts. It's the final page of the chapter so it has greater weight than Griffith's fetus theory. It's composed similarly, Griffith on the left and the other possible source of feelings on the right - but Guts right there, and the fetus is only Griffith's thoughts, so Guts has more weight in that sense too.

And that final "......... bthump" is the perfect capstone, because it's essentially saying that Guts is causing that heartbeat. The final word of this chapter is Griffith's heart beating when faced with Guts.

The panel is composed like this despite not reflecting how Griffith is viewing Guts in reality, imo to hammer home the point that Guts specifically is the source of feelings. It's not the excitement of the fight, it's not Zodd, it's not even concern for Guts' life necessarily, it's just Guts, and the raw intensity Guts exhibits in the middle of a fight, the same thing that drew Griffith to him when they first met. This panel especially emphasizes their gazes - Griffith is gazing at Guts, but Guts isn't gazing at Griffith - but this could also suggest that Griffith would like Guts to be looking at him like that, with that same intensity.

It also parallels the two of them, the way they each get one half of a face. In the context of Griffith's singularity as The Absolute, and Guts' own tempation towards becoming a monster that becomes especially pronounced during fights, and the constant emphasis on power dynamics and the two of them wanting to be equals throughout the story, this arguably suggests the potential for the two of them to still be equals in ways that actually matter, despite Griffith being a god now. Guts humanizes Griffith here by making his heart beat, Griffith monsterizes Guts by enraging him.

And to be perfectly honest, I don't think it's a coincidence that Guts looks particularly good in this panel either lol. Guts here is essentially what Griffith is imagining he looks like as he faces Zodd. And it's something Miura does regularly imo. Characters become more attractive when they're the objects of certain gazes. I have a long post about Griffith from Guts' perspective here, but Guts also gets this treatment from Griffith's perspective during the rescue. There are probably heterosexual examples too, but I don't recall them offhand because that's not what I'm reading Berserk for. That second one is arguably half heterosexual anyway lol.

So yeah, basically imo the reason is: to emphasize Guts as the cause of Griffith's feelings, to parallel them, and to add some homoeroticism.

now that Nona is finally out and we've gotten our backstory from the man himself, I've seen a post going around and revisiting the Jod question in terms of - how charitably are we supposed to take him? IMHO this is something the story already examines in the back half of Harrow when Jod self-deprecatingly suggests that there's no difference between the concepts of "the truth" and "the truth he tells himself". in the absence of an equal peer to contest his vision of the world, his subjectivity is inevitably elevated to the ontological status of objective fact; he may be misleading us, but there's no longer a self-aware manipulator hiding underneath the mask, because the mask goes all of the way through, he's empty inside.

in that respect his literary parallels with Humbert Humbert - which Muir painstakingly constructs as his author, and which he constructs on an in-universe level, as the self-aware historian of a dead culture - are of course very appropriate. but while his tongue-in-cheek preoccupation with an "Annabel Lee" can obviously be read as part of a through line with the self-absorption and dishonesty he displays later, I haven't seen much of any analysis going in the opposite direction: what are we supposed to make of the Lolita-knockoff persona John briefly entertains now that we know the woman he's pining for isn't just a woman?

like of course there's a truly fucked in-story dynamic in that John's sexually charged attitude and crimes against Alecto are obviously horrific, and yet they're almost secondary to the violation of forcing Alecto into a position where the idea of assaulting her is legible to begin with. the offense of transforming the world-soul into a princess is greater to her than the offense of locking the princess in a tower. but then you have to drill down on all the other implications of Alecto's identity. it's not just John who depersonalizes Alecto or treats her as an object for his own convenience - it's all of the Lyctors who disregard her and disclose in retrospect that they wanted God to dispose of the Devil essentially because she was too traumatized and alien to put up with.

Alecto's inhumanity is the mark of her disposability here, the Earth rendered disposable in the accounting of humanity just like a woman - or, in the new empire, a cavalier - can be rendered disposable. and I think that dovetails with the other half of the equation, what she means in the symbolism of the story. by making the Earth itself into a personified object at John's disposal, both Muir and John can use the language of human possession and obsession to contextualize the relationship between heartland and empire and the relationship between environment and ecofascism. it's a deliberate sleight of hand that drives me berserk! all these different axes of horror collapsed into a single cult of personality!

Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy Playable Monster Popularity Contest

Alright the Kickstarter is launching on April 10th which at the time of writing this is in 2 days. The Kickstarter trailer for Eureka is going to be uploaded tonight or tomorrow, but it is still my job to do as much promotion as possible even though I am worried I might be running out of ideas. I still gotta post.

Let’s just have a Eureka playable monster popularity contest.

The vampire is not exactly your 20th and 21st century Hollywood vampire. They dont have super speed, don’t hypnotise people or make them thralls, and don’t instantly die when exposed to sunlight—though they are significantly weakened by it. The Vampire in Eureka is more of a 19th century and earlier folkloric vampire, with all the powers and weaknesses that come with that, including a compulsion to count things, an inability to enter homes uninvited, turning into a bat or other creatures, walking on sheer walls, etc. The vampire has almost no way of restoring their Composure except by drinking human blood, which means they will need to go on the prowl pretty often. Luckily, they never need to eat or sleep. They are also super strong, super stealthy, and resistant to all forms of physical damage—and they can only be killed permanently by ritual means.

The wolfman shares a lot of features with the vampire, such as super strength and resistance to all physical damage, and this is because they are a Hollywood wolfman. They can regain a little Composure through normal means, but if it ever runs out, they will transform involuntarily and go berserk. This is one of my favorite things about them honestly, and I can’t wait to see it actually happen in play. They’ll also involuntarily transform if they are exposed to the full moon, but that’s a lot more situational.

The witch is up next, and for all intents and purposes, they are pretty much a normal human, except for the ability to command curses and a variety of powerful spells. These curses can render victims violently ill, put them to sleep, turn them to stone, turn them into an animal, or reduce them in size. While witches can restore their Composure just as well as a mundane human, they can also do it by eating people, and the Composure drain of using their supernatural powers is much faster and harsher than any other monster. Oh, and one of my favorite things is that they can ride around on a broomstick or other flying vehicle.

The fairy is shares the ability to cast the same curses as the witch, and, optionally, the same spells, but they are also supernaturally charming, with a few other abilities unique to them. They cannot tell lies, but they can sure steal people’s names and other aspects of their identities, and/or spirit them away to the fairy world. Another interesting thing about them is that their Wealth skill gets a boost from being a fairy, and unlike anyone else, their Wealth skill can actually be capped by Composure just like any other skill.

Then finally the Thing from Beyond, which I will be abbreviating to TFB for the rest of this paragraph. The TFB is the most unique monster in the lineup, a large flat blanket of skin and teeth that can fold up into a human shape to interact with society. They can change the color, shape, and texture of their skin to mimic anyone they’ve studied long enough, right down to the outfit. Unlike other monsters, who get their Composure back one bit and victim at a time, TFBs engulf one person whole and slowly digest them over the course of a week, recovering 1 point of Composure each day. They can even have a body inside their human-shaped disguise and you wouldn’t even notice!

The vampire is really strong in combat and stealth, with a lot of powers to draw from, but is handicapped by far the most weaknesses.

The wolfman is a good combat powerhouse that isn’t quite a strong as the vampire in most cases, but doesn’t have to deal with as many weaknesses. Watch out though, if things get too intense, they could completely lose control of themselves and end up eating someone they weren’t supposed to!

The fairy is more a “face” character, with more tools at their disposal for convincing people to cooperate with them than ability to use force, though curses do definitely fall under “use of force”, I suppose.

The witch is just a good all-rounder, with something for every situation, though it might not always be the *best* something.

The TFB is very good for stealth as well, but a different kind of stealth. The vampire is good for a more Solid Snake or Sam Fisher kind of stealth, while the TFB is more Agent 47’s style of stealth.

There’s also two honorable mentions I’d like to include because they’re Kickstarter stretch goals and thus not really fully fleshed out yet.

The dullahan is a headless specter from Irish folklore that feeds on death. We haven’t really figured out exactly how to make this work mechanically yet, but that’s because we haven’t hit that stretch goal yet.

The gorgon is the last written stretch goal, and maybe the one I’m most excited for. They turn people to stone by looking them in the eye, and this is such an awesome blessing and curse to work around during gameplay that I really really want the excuse to implement it. They also may eat have snakes in their hair up to player choice, and eat people whole with mechanics sorta similar the way the TFB works, we aren’t quite sure because until we hit those stretch goals they just exist as a bunch of scattered notes and ideas. I gotta count on y’all to make sure we hit those stretch goals.

There is also a potential for the option to play a talking dog or a living doll, which will also be stretch goals if we can swing it.

Remember also, all of these will be playable as PCs, so they could be your enemy, or your ally.

Ah yes, there is nothing more beautiful than watching the Crunchyroll Awards when I am in a masochistic mood and still come out crying. I’m not even a seasonal watcher but even I could predict all of the winners when I checked out the nominations. I didn’t vote by the way since I don’t even use Crunchyroll. Since me and my friend already complained about it, I’ll rant a bit too so please take my salt.

I don’t think that Jujutsu Kaisen should have won Anime of the Year for the simple reason that apparently the Shibuya Arc didn’t even count for this nomination since it aired in Autumn. That means that pretty much only the first 5-6 episodes were a contender for this nomination and that isn’t even half of the show. They should have either completely excluded it from the nominations this year and instead nominated it next year or should have put in all of Jujutsu Kaisen. Instead now the season was split in parts and I will bet my liver that the Shibuya Arc will be nominated next year again. 5 episodes of an incomplete season are not better than other nominated Anime like Vinland Saga or Oshi No Ko. I’m not even sure if I would put Demon Slayer as a nomination since I liked this season but it just did not reach for me the same level that previous seasons had reached and I am sure that there were other Anime that were a lot more deserving of a nomination instead of Kny.

Best Continuing Series I already suspected either One Piece or Jujutsu Kaisen to win. I can’t say much about One Piece since I am currently at the Water 7 Arc but I will take it over freaking Jjk with its 5 nominated episodes. Once again I would be hesitant to put Demon Slayer in here since for me best continuing series implies that the newest season is either on the same par or even surpasses the previous season. Demon Slayer did not do this with the Sword Smith Village Arc for me for a couple of reasons. The antagonists felt very shallow and boring, the fights weren’t as good for me and whilst the last episode was quite good, it did not reach for me what the Entertainment District Arc did. Bungo Stray Dogs would have been in my opinion a better nomination than Demon Slayer.

Not surprised with Chainsaw Man winning Best New series but since I haven’t watched any of the shows nominated, I can’t say much about it. Same goes for Best Movie with Suzume as the winner and Best Original Series with Buddy Daddies as the winner.

Is anyone surprised by Demon Slayer winning Best Animation? I’m not and that was the only thing that for me was as good as previous seasons, although I do know the whole argument of them using 3D this season for some of the demons but honestly, that was nowhere near the worst CGI that Anime has given us such as Berserk 2017. I see why people would be upset since other contestants for Best Animation were shows like Mob Psycho 100. With Jujutsu Kaisen as a nominee I am conflicted due to the whole arguments of this season having the worst Animation in comparison to the first season and the movie but the poor Mappa employees were on such a tight schedule and the fact that they still delivered such amazing fight scenes despite the terrible treatment deserves respect. Also, where is Bleach in this nomination?! You cannot tell me that they couldn’t nominate it since Disney owns it considering that there were actually some categories where Bleach was still nominated for some reason!

Best Character Design went to Jujutsu Kaisen… How??? How did school uniforms win against the character designs of Hell’s Paradise, Oshi No Ko and Demon Slayer? Is it just Gojo that carried this category?? Am I the blind one for not loving him as much as other fans do??

Best Direction went to Jujutsu Kaisen.

Best Camera Work went to Jujutsu Kaisen.

Best Art Direction went to Demon Slayer.

Best romance was won by Horimiya: The missing Pieces. I’m not sure if that’s true but isn’t this series basically some sort of flashback where the characters look back on their school time. I’m pretty sure My Happy Marriage, Insomniacs after School or Skip and Loafer can beat what, if my memory is correct, is basically a series that shows all the scenes they couldn’t feature in the first season.

Best Comedy was won by Spy x Family and my friend was quite upset by that since she is a big Bocchi The Rock fan but I haven’t watched any of those shows.

Best Action was won by Jujutsu Kaisen. Considering that only the first arc of the series was nominated, I do not agree with this win. If Shibuya Arc would have also counted, I wouldn’t have complained but as it stands I would have preferred something like One Piece or Bleach to win this award.

Best Fantasy was won by Demon Slayer… Again. Guys, what is this? I love Demon Slayer but you can’t tell me that a show playing in a real historical period of Japan with the only fantasy element being the demons as well as maybe the Breathing Forms is a better fantasy show than Mushoku Tensei or The Ancient Magus’s Bride.

Best Drama was won by Attack on Titan The Final Season Chapter 1. What does that mean? Will the second chapter be nominated again then next year?! Oh, come on. How did an incomplete season win Best Drama against Mister I have no enemies?! Vinland Saga should have won that category.

Best Slice of Life went to Bocchi the Rock and since my friend was happy, I was happy too.

Best Main character was won by Luffy. I guess I can live with that. I’m actually surprised that they didn’t nominate Gojo in here but since the whole award show was basically sucking Jujutsu Kaisen off, I am happy to have a few categories where I am not haunted by Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen. I am just more biased towards Thorfinn in this category since his character development was amazing. If they really only counted the First Chapter of Attack on Titan in these Awards, I am not sure about putting Eren as a contender in this category since he had barely any screen time.

How are you going to take Jujutsu Kaisen’s Hidden Inventory Arc for the 2024 Crunchyroll Awards and then nominate Gojo as a side character?!?! He was the bloody main character in that arc since it was his past!! And then Gojo also wins this category where he absolutely doesn’t belong!!! The same counts for Suguru!! How can you nominate two guys from Jujutsu Kaisen who were on top of that main characters in this short arc?! Why not nominate someone from another Anime instead?! What about Bungo Stray Dogs?! What about Hell’s Paradise?! What about literally every other Anime that aired this year with an actual side character?! Why did Gojo win?!

I don’t care about the Must Protect At all Costs award going to Anya Forger. It’s just a weird award in my opinion.

Best Anime Song going to Idol from Yoasobi was no surprise and was deserved for the sheer impact it had not only on the Anime community but also the international success it earned.

Best Soundtrack going to Attack on Titan is no surprise. Hiroyuki Sawano, if you worked there again I will accept it.

Best Opening and Ending go to no one’s surprise to Jujutsu Kaisen and at this point I have no energy left anymore to be angry. Congratulations…not.

Best Japanese VA performance goes to Yuichi Nakamura for voicing Gojo Satoru… Why is Eren here again? That dude barely spoke any lines in the first half of the Final Chapters. There are a ton of other Japanese Va’s that not only spoke more than Eren but were also far better. Whilst I am not really suited for picking any since I don’t watch seasonal Anime, I think Uemura Yuuto for his performance as Thorfinn or Miyano Mamoru in his role as Dazai were far more deserving of a spot in here. Yuki Kaji, I really love you but you shouldn’t have been nominated in here for your performance as Eren in here due to the lack of a performance.

Like one day we where in one of Abby warbands talking with a nurgle astartes and he started to vent and we ended up giving him some life advice,next thing you know is a daemonette seeking advice for her love life and a berserker telling us about his anger management issues.

Then Something lead to another and know we have our time spent between the primarchs:

Hearing pertorabo bitching about life in general but we are too afraid to speak up and tell him to stop

Having tea time with Magnus because he genuinely appreciate our presence and time together

Somehow running into leman Russ when we were done taking care of nurgle garden with mortarion and killing us the moment he see us

Us getting revived shortly after because the four think thet we are too entertaining to lose

Getting into a yelling contest with angron that always end up with angron getting too angry and furious to continue

And finally talking about religion with lorgar and helping him battling his night terrors *also known as corvus corax*

Fulgrim is too high and mighty to seek us for anything other than to fuck us and us getting along with the snake man because we might as well have a good time

Us running into leman a second time and his curiosity getting the best of him so he started to question us

\ Dawn was very much her tv counterpart up until getting sucked into Hisui alongside Ash and Pikachu. Strengthen by the fact that Piplup did not follow her through unlike Pikachu did with Ash. It broke something inside her almost instantly but Ash was able to catch her in time.

- This wasn’t Ash’s first time with other people, for fucks sake Dawn has done this before as well. They dealt with fucking Arceus and the trio when they were younger.

\ they quickly got very codependent with each other, one never leaving the others side unless it’s very important. Commander Kamado tried to get them to go separate but it usually ended up with Dawn getting in trouble that she has no way to get out of and Ash immediately sensing she’s in danger and Bull charging to her.

- six other of ten times she’s hurt. Like gash on her shoulder or electricity burns. Dawn gets majority of her scars in Hisui as well. Not nearly matching Ash’s marked body but close enough.

\ they were Captain Cyllene M’sorry favorite.Though Ash was the favorite out of the pair. Their humor was very dry and witty and it was like watching a tennis match how Dawns head would look back and forth. They were both very good on polite shit talking and it was impressive.

- Dawn of course learns this later on in Hisui near the end. Especially when Kamado declares them the problem and chucks them out of Jubilife village. She’s viciously defends them while Ash goes nearly berserk trying to figure out wtf is happening. It was very clear to her that her strength levels had absolutely no chance to compare to Ash’s.

\ they both work out in a public gym close to the labs when their both in Sinnoh. Ash helps her with her strength and she helps him with agility.

\ Dawns improvements in contests is astounding and people question her how she was able to grow so much in that short time she has been away (it was longer in Hisui and it drives her a little more insane every time someone brings it up) and she can’t say shit.

- to hear that the Rowan family was understanding and that Ash personally understood how it feels, she’s never been more seen and welcomed in her life. Not even in her mothers house at the time either, especially after her dad has left.

\ Dawn gets called a mini-Ash jokingly by the others declaring he “gave her all her bad habits” but she uses it against Ash as well. It’s followed by a lot of sibling bickering between her, Ash and Gary.

Comes from a spear owned by Odin that is said to never miss and always kill its target

Fragments of this gear are imbedded in the area near Hibiki's (the user) heart

Every time she activates the system, the fusion between her body and it increases

This also caused Hibiki to sometimes enter a berserker rage

Can be used as a sword, but mainly serves as a lance or spear

Can clone itself and spin like a drill to create tornados or whirlwinds

This includes a giant sword, a sickle, a pistol, a rifle, a cannon, and even a missile

If her body is broken apart by the weapon she turns into (like a bomb exploding) then her body will reform

Martin the Warrior's sword (Redwall)

Used to maintain peace and defend Redwall Abbey from foes

Has been passed down to many mice (?)

Sometimes, I think the Piecemaker matchups are funny just because it's such a big weapon in comparison to most of the other contestants. This is next level though.

Also, I did not start Symphogear. I chose to watch Black Clover.
