Which bird are you the happiest to see when they return from migration? In our case, it must be our beloved Hausrotschwanzkehlchen.

12th February 2024: Early spring day at Lakeside and home
Pictures I took today in this set are of; beautiful blossom at Lakeside it is really blooming now, another gorgeous Red Admiral which I was thrilled to see at Lakeside my first patch butterfly of the year, beautiful views at Lakeside on a smashing day, Collared Dove at Lakeside, the Black Redstart out the back it was thrilling to see it come back into the garden again today, alder catkins, one of a few gorgeous crocuses seen at Lakeside I had a feeling they'd be out today and Greylag Geese. Snowdrops, violet and loads of lesser celandine in a fancy foray into varied spring flowers on my lunch time walk, Jay, Moorhen, lively Blue and Great Tit at Lakeside, Goldfinch at home with Chaffinch, Ring-necked Parakeet and Wren heard well at Lakeside were other highlights today.

Actual reaction of my beloved Hausrotschwanzkehlchen when I told him he should be somewhere warmer.
He takes no shit from no one.

Birdwatching was an absolute success today ✨ I'm too tired to edit photos, so have some unfiltered birbs as your daily dose of serotonin🌠
Also my lens zoom isn't that great, the little Robin REALLY came THAT CLOSE to us, less than 30cm I was screaming so much 😢 he stood on a branch super close to us singing for about 10 minutes 😢then he started exploring the ground and was exactly next to my bf's shoes 😢 he's got a band on his leg, probably someone from the park studies some of the birds, so he must be used to humans ♥♥
We also saw the family of Ringnecks that lives in the park, but they always perch on the tallest trees, so they're super hard to see. And lastly we met a super shy Black Redstart
