"Lower it, Alvez." Spencer had to command once again "Now!" he urged once his initial instruction was ignored.

It was uncharacteristic of Spencer to get in between his teammates' field strategies, but once he saw you on the ground, puddle of blood beneath you, something took over him, something he couldn't stop.

"Alvez, you don't want to do this." the blond agent started his descalation protocol.

"The hell you know about what I want, Reid?" he almost growled.

He was bent over the body of a man the two of you were chasing, every vein on his arms and neck pulsating with rage as his gun was shoved half way through the suspect's mouth, breathing heavy, since he had visibly lost control.

The only reason he didn't shoot him right there, when he saw him on top of you, knife to your throat, was because there was a risk the bullet would ricochet on you, and the reason he didn't kill him the second he had him on the ground, was because Spencer had aimed his weapon at him.

"He's not the unsub, Emily confirmed the aliby." Spencer tried to reassure him.

"I don't care who the fuck he is, look at what he did." Luke clarified.

You could barely perceive the situation, the last thing you recall was your partner's voice asking for a medic on the radio, everything after that seemed blurry even when you hadn't lost consciousness.

The ruckus forced you to pay a closer attention, and your eyes finally focused on your infuriated friend next to you.

"Luke?" you said in almost a whisper.

The look he gave you at the sound of your voice was astonishing, and not in a good way, his nostrils were flared, jaw tight, and pupils dialated with fury. You couldn't flinch, but your breath hitched, and in your eyes he could see pure terror.

the pain he felt in his chest at that realization was too much to handle; he threw his weapon to the side to let Reid know he was no longer a threat, and in a swift move he rolled the suspect to cuff him.

Paramedics arrived shortly and your situation was assessed, you had lost blood, but nothing you couldn't recover from. Emily had put Alvez aside, giving him the usual 'the job does this to people' and 'you need some vacation' talk. Spencer remained by your side inside the ambulance until the paramedics told him you were ready to ride.

"Hold on, Reid, I'll ride with her." Luke trotted in the direction of the car.

"I don't think— " he began to say until you interrupted.

"It's okay, Spencer." you said before giving him a reassuring nod.

Luke jumped right onto the ambulance and sat next to you, his sight ashamedly placed someplace else.

"I'm sorry." he started, you saw his adam's apple blobble, almost as if he was trying to hold back tears.

"What for? Saving my life?" you asked almost mockingly, but when he didn't react, you continued "Don't be sorry for anything, Luke."

"That look on your face." he turned to face you "Like you were terrified of me. It pained me."

"I wasn't scared of you." you clarified "I was worried. I’ve never seen you act like that before."

"Well, you hadn't been in real danger before." he said, his demeanor still affected.

You reached, shakily and restricted by the IV, for his hands, and he hesitantly slip his into your palm.

"I'm okay now, because of you." you tried to ease his feelings. "Thank you."

He finally relaxed, and you could tell by the loud sigh that left his lips. A small smile drew on his face, and his digits gave you a light squeeze.

"Always."

hello yes, what do you think about the Avatars in TMAGP so far (the obvious ones of our beloved Mr. Bonzo and Needles, and the likely hood of Ink5oul being one)? I just recently relistened to the series so far and I have Thoughts about all of them and wanted to hear someone else’s (plus, you asked for asks >:3)

Okay so needles honestly I love all the jokes about them being a little guy and hugging them along with the amazing cosplays I've seen but their cast got me! It was one of the episode that genuinely spooked me the voice actor was amazing!

Ink5ouls I love! I think it's mostly because of the first episode they showed up in have so many parallels to the picture of Dorian grey (Alexander j newall when I get you) and naturally my Oscar Wilde autism was like yep this episode right here this is the one! But the character concept is also really interesting with spooky tattoos

Mr bonzo… Mr bonzo. I love and hate him probably because I grew up with Mr blobbly seeing non brits learn about him has honestly made me laugh so much heehehr yes yes now everyone will be scared of getting up in the dark because Mr blobbly might be there >:). Also the fucking theme song has been stuck in my head for WEEKS! leave me alone Mr bonzo I don't want to play :(

Fetch Re;Quest Dev Log #2 - 01/16/2024

Whew, first dev log of the new year! Let's get right into it, shall we?

Backgrounds

I've mostly been focusing on the script lately, but since I'm not doing the backgrounds, those have been slowly rolling in!

Kind of a strange mix of places, I know! The graveyard and Todd's apartment are places you'll visit if you play a lot of Deathpocolypse 2, where as the bar and the board game shop are visited if Flora and the gang get into Techno-opolis instead. Of Fiends and Fangs takes place exclusively at the bar, and if you play Clockwork Mercenaries, Flora ends up spending a lot of time in her room.

Sprites

I've decided to focus on writing the script before moving on to anything else, so the sprites have been put on hold for the time being. I did get a few blobbly sketches done before I switched gears, though!

I've been doing this funky color blocking thing lately to get a better feel for how my sprite silhouettes look together before moving on to the refining stage. Obviously Flora's sprite is already done, but I blobed her out anyway just to see how she compares to the rest of the characters.

Also, for everyone's consideration- Dan small.

Script

As I said, right now I'm prioritizing the script. Currently, the game is sitting around 26k words, but I expect it will be at least 40k when it's finished.

Garden;Verse

And speaking of the script, there is a special game that Flora and Dan play together in the evenings. It's called Garden;Verse, and it's an otome!

My cowriter @brii-nanas wrote 10k+ words of (really good) fake otome routes for me to use... and most of it won't even show up in the main game 🥲

Not to worry, though. As Flora and Dan progress through the story, the actual scenes they're reading will get unlocked in the Extra's section. Please look forward to reading about some cute (and in one "bad end" case, rather tragic) boys themed around flowers.

That's all I have for now! Since I'm focusing on the script, I'm not sure how much I'll have to share next month, so February's dev log might end up being pretty short.

if im going to use something that's gonna run out and eventually have to be thrown out, it has to feel disposable. like, if a pen is too good, im not using that mf until i have a special occasion. if this pencil has really nice grain and can do sharp lines im saving it for when i need a really good pencil. once i use up my other less "good" materials (ink blobbly, dull grain, too light) then im buying a new disposable ones. and the good pen will stay in my pencil case until i have to sign something.

WHEE right over the edge! Yeah, I fall with the water, it's how gravity works. Fortunately I usually bounce at the bottom, but occasionally there's rocks.

I can run up some waterfalls like an escalator, but it really depends on the waterfall, shape and size, etc. It's pretty easy to run up something that just sort of blobbles down a stairstep of rocks, but Niagara Falls would be more or less impossible to do by foot.

Lickitung is such a soft blobbly little creature? I wanna pet its fail and pinch its little paw things? The linework here is so fabulous, its rounded and soft and blobbly without being...

Well, this orbular menace. Why does it have "rich baby" hair and a bib? What happened to that pleasing head shape, the big thick tail? The colors went from pleasing and subdued to this garish, saturated clash of magenta and piss yellow. I hate it so much. Give me a different one. Give me an evo that respects Lickitung.

for these paintings i wanted to do art that is just decorative. there's no meaning or story to these, just colors and shapes. i think if i tried to be deep and serious i would never be able to paint anything. i really try to think of these as hotel room art, generic, corporate, smooth blobbly vaguely modernist shapes. it's so soothing to recuse myself from my self imposed onerous pretension that i must Say Something or Mean Something with Art like no bitch it's colors and shapes time
