H Επικονίαση σαν όρος είναι η μεταφορά της γύρης από τους ανθήρες στο στίγμα του ίδιου άνθους ή σε άνθος που ανήκει στο ίδιο είδος. Υπάρχουν διάφορα είδη επικονίασης όπως με τον άνεμο αλλά στο συγκεκριμένο σημείο μας ενδιαφέρει η Επικονίαση με έντομα. C'est bien fichu quand même : les pollens sont ces petits grains blancs qui s'accrochent aux poils du bourdon et passent de fleurs en fleurs, se déposant au fil du butinage, sur des individus différents... Le bourdon gourmand éclabousse les jolies fleurs de pollens qui vont être capturé par le stigmate, élément du pistil, organe reproducteur femelle des fleurs.
