hi mutuals im just curious.

#im a ggy lover myself and would obviously love to see it realized in a game #but i also like gregory as a character more than his semi-canon backstory #and have complicated feelings on if i want them to confirm ggy at all. #i love ggy but dont want it to take screentime away from gregory #who alongside vanessa havent been focused on in years #(ruin was mimic basically the whole time #doesnt count) and need the screentime desperately. #personally #after THIS long (2 and a half years since gregory screentime and over a year since GGYs release) #i cant help but always wonder if theyve just. waited too long and they shouldnt confirm it. #at least just that they shouldnt release something just for the sake of confirming it and just leave it as book knowledge. #if they did focus on ggy in a game i'd want it to serve the plot involving multiple characters and progress slowly #i dont want it to be confirmed then its just background knowledge i would want there to be a plotline of #gregory remembering it throughout the plot of a game and dealing with it. #it'd confirm it then but it'd also still be wholly focused on Gregory alone and also be a natural reveal for people who dont read the books #for me its option 3 i guess. by all means its for sure canon at the moment im just talking about how it would be revealed in a game #or if at all and left as knowledge someone who read the books would know #my idea is wishful thinking we'd never get something that intricate #i can hope though #i could be so cool #but damn theyre just handling the story so strangely rn #pandas.txt #pandas talks #poll #thoughts #pre hw2 dlc #jic

YA sff set in the near future where an opensource augmented reality is commonly used like social media, and there’s also a completely virtual fantasy game version

follows an Anishinaabe girl who who’s the top player in the VR game, and is constantly fighting to keep her place against the misogynist neo-nazi group in second place

as well as her real life, dealing with being a shy and self-conscious teen growing up on the Rez, and her brother having cancer

and a Uyghur boy who’s moved to her community from China after finding acceptance in an online community (even when he doesn’t agree with their more extreme views) - but when he gets to know Bugz, he has to decide who truly deserves his loyalty

great mix of sff and culture, the future while also very real community traumas of the past (and present)

#walking in two worlds #the everlasting road #wab kinew #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #This has some REALLY interesting and important concepts! #I just think it could have used some more development… Obvs this is YA and I’m an adult I know I’m not quite the audience! #There’s a lot of depth in the setup of the characters but I feel like it skips a lot of the progression #I think there could have been space for more development in a lot of places to make the story feel more dimensional #- but also has so many plot threads that maybe that would have bulked it out too much #It does also jump around quite a bit between the different parts but I think that makes sense with how juggling with irl / online life. #she’s got a lot of internalised fatphobia at the start (and the love interest going “I don’t think you’re fat!!” when people call her fat.. #then in book 2 suddenly she’s okay about it - again I wish there was some progression! #her brothers cancer journey is. basically all offscreen lol mostly as set up for plot in book 2. so it doesn't have the emotional impact it #could have.. #I liked the way it integrates her culture into the game in a really cool way (though I would have liked more detail there) #also having auto language translators but they regularly don't translate quite right / still run into issues - realistic! #the parallels drawn between his being taken from his family and put in a state education school and Indigenous residential schools #the way that a future world will never be as separate from the past as ur average sff future often portrays #but yeah anyway lots of good ideas execution not so much for me..

After about a month in the works, Pyromiru is happening on a youtube near you (in the near future). Can't believe I'm actually finishing this...I don't think I've ever undertaken a video project this big, especially not one using SFM.

kind of a slow year for art—didn't find any new interests to obsess over 🤷 but i did participate in artfight for the first time, i really worked on my anatomy and colouring process, AND i hit a lot of real life milestones (graduation! hormones! living alone!), so I can't complain too much. happy birthday to me and here's to a new year 🥳

Book 2 update!

I've been writing a little bit more lately, so here's the latest changes I've done summarized

Finally finished chapter 22 after literally forever

A character now suffers for longer and slightly more impact-fully

Poor Ryker is finally described having his change of clothes

Albin now has a diagnosed eyesight issue

Finally wrote the reveal for the first of the big spoilers

Zero gets to suffer more

Slight design tweak to a certain "special" place and it's inhabitants :)

The cause of the power outage in chapter 23 is now more reasonable

Also! Bonus, other changes I've made to the series as I worldbuild more, especially for book 3:

A long scrapped character has been reused and completely reworked. Please look forward to seeing a character named Chip! They no longer get to be happy.

Redesigned a sophont a bit

Got some ideas from me and my friend's scape and run parasites session the past few days that have definitely inspired some scenes for book 3, as well as... other things ;)c

I am plagued by theatrical productions i'll never see... it's not like a book i can pick up at any point and return to with new insights as an omniscient reader. No one experiences a play the same but the momentality of it makes you more aware of your role, be it on stage or the audience, the story flows because of your presence at this exact moment. And there are countless plays at this very moment everywhere in the world, there is so much i will never know or experience? It will just be lost to time, to others' perception and memory?

#i wonder how my life wouldve progressed if i hadnt distanced myself from theatre or generally the world #i needed the control and static state of books and games but i regret casting theatre aside? #it wasnt entirely by choice and my transitional phase in the first lockdown was by watching 1-2 films a day but those are really #not the same at all. they made the transition to getting lost in books easier but still #there is nothing like theatre #but it's also tainted by highschool memories (yes yes i say do not let others ruin things for you but i also used to be more passionate then #even if most called me robotic or a bitch. well. i didnt discourage it either. i lost my point #) #this post was triggered by looking into the tokyo grand guignol. not for the reasons i was looking into the french one last week #entirely coincidental but it made me laugh in the way coincidences seem too scripted in timing #nevertheless. it was still coincidental

Crochet Update

Last night vs right now. The current progress on the maybe-scarf. I might just run out of yarn before I reach actual scarf length, but I'm curious what the full length of one of these yarn balls is. Kinda just getting a feel for it & all.

I Also bought a little book that teaches some crochet basics, and spent some time going through some more stitch styles. The above scarf is made with single stitches, and the following...

Fuck the treble. The process for doing it was so different from the others, I Hated it. Maybe my hands being tired also doesn't help, but I am Grrrr at this one. Final product was okay at least.

These 3 little bitches took me 2 hours to make. Ugh.
